The Best Pizza Restaurants in the East Bay | Eater SF

"Philomena suffered a double whammy of both the pandemic and a fire that shut the restaurant down for months. After re-opening, though, this neighborhood favorite came back even stronger. The shop makes fantastic New York-style pies and has possibly the best mushroom pizza in the East Bay." - Noah Cho

We’ve lived in the neighborhood for over a year and I can’t believe we hadn’t visited here sooner! Before moving to Oakland, the wife, cats, and I lived in Chicago - where there is all sorts of good pizza, not just deep dish. Anyway, Philomena is up to par and has delicious pies, as well as beer and kombucha on tap. For this visit, we got the Miss Piggy with gluten free crust, which was great! We also had the kombucha (mint guava) which is delicious, and their wings which I would recommend. The chicken isn’t over fried or battered - just good chicken with good sauce. Looking forward to coming back!

So my friend and I stumbled into this little neighborhood pizza spot, and honestly? I’m still thinking about that mushroom pizza. Like… how dare it be that good? Perfectly crispy crust, melty, earthy, cheesy goodness — basically a spiritual experience in pizza form. But the real MVP? Our waiter. This woman was a dream. She let us taste-test a bunch of drinks (because clearly we’re indecisive and she just got it) and helped us land on the perfect choices. We also ended up bonding over our pets because of course we did — she was so sweet, funny, and just one of those people who makes you feel like you’ve known them forever. Between the pizza, the vibe, and the A+ human interaction, this spot is officially my go-to. Already scheming about who I can drag here next. Highly recommend — don’t sleep on it.

This salad(picture) was $16 AND the pizza was also $16. Not sure how a very plain garden salad makes sense to cost that much. PLEASE I implore you Philomena, please lower the salad to a price that makes sense. I didn't want to say anything while there because the girl working was very nice and was busy but if you all have huddles at the end of the night, I would like to ask if you can re-discuss the pricing of your garden salad, especially since mine was only greens with a few onions and tomatoes and shouldn't cost the same as a whole pizza. That being said the Vegan Garden pizza is good and very garlicky with a nice garlicky crispy crust! The salad is a salad. :)

Google
I would say the pizzas are better than the burgers. The burger seemed a little dry (I went home and added some fig jam which helped a lot). The mushroom pizza was pretty good though. Only two tables with the outside seating but it's nice the option to sit outside is there. Inside seemed pretty cool in terms of style. Service was quick but the food took a little while to come out. Went on a Saturday afternoon and finding parking was no problem!

Lovely people 🥰 | Delicious & Fresh Pizza 🍕 | Legit Kombucha 🍹 It was our first time here and being treated so warmly by everyone at Philomena was so comforting!! We got Mushroom pizza, topped with calabrian peppers + Harborside pizza, both were finger lickin’ gooood! They also have Trivia nights with Taylor Swift on Tuesdays - we scored poorly but it was so much fun!

Google
I ordered a personal mushroom pizza with two additions. I was given water and asked if I wanted any other drinks. The pizza came out hot and the toppings were generously distributed. No skimping on ingredients. Everything tasted good. Service was friendly and timely. I used a promotional code for 20% off.

Omgosh! I love Philomena so much that we decided to have our end of season celebration there. Everyone loved the food and the staff was super sweet and attentive. Rico was absolutely wonderful helping us hang banners and climbing up on a ladder to take a group photo. He really made us feel at home with his kind hospitality. And the food, let me just say, the pizzas were amazingly flavorful, chicken wings were delish - all three flavors, the brussel sprouts were a big hit both Calabrian chili and the Harvest edition with butternut squash and pecans with goat cheese, both salads were freshly made and we topped the Cesar with grilled chicken! It was just enough room for 42people. We absolutely enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back! New fans of Philomena were made that night!

Google
Only got delivery so I cannot comment on service/ atmosphere. However, the pizza was good but I found the Parmesan fries to be overpriced and only OK. would have liked the cheese to be at least partially melted.

Yelp
Coming here is not food porn, it is an umami orgy. The best build your own pizza spot, sorry Pieology/restaurant chains. Nice vegan cheese & pesto options as well as GF. I am a fan of the turkey meatballs as a non pork alternative. Also a lovely selection of craft beers. I need to try their super tasty looking brunch menu which is offered daily, not just Sundays only! If I lived any closer, I would truly pack on the weight.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza- questionable customer service. After emailing about catering for my daughter's birthday party and not hearing back, I called the restaurant directly. Whomever I spoke to said someone would call me back the next day. Four days later I was about to order from another local place when someone from Philomena finally called me back. They ended up bringing multiple pizzas, but were 45 minutes late because they burned the first batch. So instead of mingling with guests, I was texting with someone from Philomena about when the pizzas were going to come. I will continue to order delivery from them for regular nights, but wouldn't use them for a special event again. Just don't need the headache.

Yelp
Everything at this place was great. Came in on a Sunday for brunch and decided to take a chance on their bacon and blackberry pizza. It was a delicious and creative combination of tastes. The antipasto bloody mary was also fantastic, with what tasted like fresh tomato juice and a veritable salad bar on the plate. The buffalo brussels sprouts were crunchy and flavorful too. The service was good, considering that it looked like the girl was the only person running the entire floor while I was there with minimal backup.

Yelp
Popped in one day while waiting for my laundry. Ordered to go, and it took about 15 minutes for my food to arrive. Pizza and fries? Of course I will. Pizza was hot, with a crisp crust. Fries were...fries. It was a little loud, as it is a bar as well. But id definitely come back. A+ pizza.

Yelp
I'm just go say stick to pizza the burgers looked good even tho I didn't order it. The garlic fries were blan. But I finally had some pizza and it was really good a pizza & beer you can't go wrong here everything else I feel is a Risk this is my 3rd time ordering from here. Customer service was good they shoe the warriors game on TV and have beers on tap and avaliable to purchase to go

Yelp
I love this place for its brunch pizzas! Our favorite is the blackberry bacon - ohmylanta! So delicious - I can eat a whole pie to myself. The lunch pizzas are delicious too - definitely get the mushroom in large if you have a big group. The seating isn't too convenient - the stools are nice but too wide. I'm sure it gets packed during game days. They have plenty of TVs on all sides. Make sure to check in for a free order of beignets!

Yelp
I now live in Walnut Creek but am in Oakland regularly to meet up with friends and family. I've had Philomena in my sights for a long time (since Check Please) and finally had the opportunity to try it. We all loved our pizzas - I built a caramelized onion and goat cheese. One dining partners had the mushroom and another the margherita. We were all happy with our slices and went home with leftovers - the slices are huge! Parking is easy. Husband liked the beer choices. I want to come back for the brunch pizza. Choices look amazing.

Ash H.

Yelp
So thankful to find this sweet spot today while taking a break from supporting by husband at nearby Highland Hospital. Rico was so incredibly kind and the food and drinks were fantastic. A new favorite for sure, I highly recommend!

Yelp
Local, lovely, and ludicrously good! The pizza is a gluten-free boy's dream come true! I can get a gluten-free, vegan-cheese, meat-lovers pizza here as well as a variety of hard ciders and beers! The pizza comes out hot and ready with that crispy crust and a healthy portion of toppings. This pizza has a solid menu of pizza types as well as brunch items! This joint is spacious, so you can eat and check out the big game on the big screen. Bring all of your hipster friends here so they can be amazed by the beer choices!
google avatar

Cristy J.

Yelp
Love our local pizza joint for its unique offerings as well as the amazing beer selection from the fridge for onsite and offsite consumption (they have Pliney the Elder)! Our favorite pizzas feature the best local ingredients served hot and fast. This is our weekly pizza spot but by far my favorite dish is the lasagna and arugula salad. The kids love the cheese pizza and warm cookies.

Yelp
I was really excited to try Philomena pizza. It was a basic pepperoni and cheese, because if you can't get that right, the rest is just the toppings. Anyway, the crust was decent, a bit too chewy. The red sauce was good, not overwhelming or too liquidy. The cheese ratio was average. Not bad, not great, underwhelming.
google avatar

Ned C.

Yelp
Excellent pizza! The crust is simply delicious and the toppings are tasty and plentiful. We had pepperoni, onions, and bell peppers. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Went with my wife & baby on a Sunday evening. Place was quite empty; Neighborhood is kinda sketch, restaurant has a nice vibe though. We ordered a 16" Mushroom & Harborside - Half n Half pizza. As they say, Mushroom is their peoples favorite, it is quite obvious why. We arent red sauce fans, but this one had quite a kick & actually better than the Harborside. It wasn't an easy bite, but definitely delicious to the end. Harborside has very mild flavors of pesto & ricotta, it didn't actually meet our expectations ( Decent tho). Crust here is somewhre between thin & thick; a bit hard & greasy for our taste. Service was great, gentleman who served us was quite friendly & quick. Faction Lager was great and goes well with Mushroom pizza! :)

Yelp
We've been coming here since they opened. It's our favorite neighborhood restaurant, and we walk from our house. We love the food, service, and atmosphere. Philomena has been through a lot over the years. Pandemic. Fire. Economy. Every time they manage to adjust and keep doing what they do best. We always have a good time and good food here

Yelp
Our friend invited us to try out his friend's restaurant that she works at and co-opened -- Philomena. It is located in West Oakland with cute outdoor seating area, drafts IPAs with a bar inside including 4 big screen TVs with 1-2 broken ones, & fantastic graffiti looking artwork on the outdoor walls and chalk like cartoon artwork on the inside walls including a giraffe from what I recall. We decided to get there a bit early so we didn't need to leave too late before sunset. There was one server (our friend's friend) it seemed and she was busting her ass but making the magic happen for all the tables in the joint. It was about a 10-12 table place with maybe 7 tables full at the time, no one sitting outside on a 7pm weekday. We were a hungry party of 4 and she suggested we order the following: 1. Garlic Wings to share 4:5 2. Margherita Pie with Pepp 4:5 3. Mushroom Pie with Saus 4:5 4. Side Salad *no onions* 4:5 5. Garlic Parmesan Waffle Fries 5:5 6. Beignets 10:5 ..which we all agreed to her recommendations. The following are my own opinions of the taste & quality of food: 1. I tried a wing and it was fine. But I'm biased because I'm a boneless girl and if I eat bone-in I want it crispy which these were bare skin 2. My fav pizza between the two we ordered however, I don't think it was out of this world like I need to come back for it 3. I really love mushrooms and unfortunately on this pizza the mushrooms were chopped up and not chonky which is how I like it. I normally rave about a mushroom pizza so I have a high standard but it was alright. 4. I didn't order this but my friend ordered without onions and it arrived with red onion which seemed like an easy error. 5. Now if I happen to come back her, I'd definitely 100% reorder these. However they make em, they melt in your mouth and you must get it with a side of their ranch which is bomb.com 6. Okay guys, if anything --- EVERYONE SHOUKD COME FOR THE BEIGNETS because they are fire and when I come back I want a truck bed order of these. The chocolate hot fudge dip seemed homemade and really fresh and so was the dough nice and fluffy donut texture with layers. + Not too oily! Overall, I'm not a big drinker, nor do I watch sports, or fond of coming into Oakland especially so late on the West side. But, food was decent and time well spent with good company of friends I haven't seen in a while so I would say the visit was a success. Personally, might not comeback unless a friend wanted to meet there again. However, I would be very happy to revisit my beignet loves again Philomena's well kept secret. Heads up - FREE order with a check-in on YELP! Enjoy!

Yelp
On arrival: free parking, street parking, what's better?! It's on the corner and if you weren't looking for it, you'd pass right by. Inside is kind of small but great atmosphere and lively. We had a pretty rowdy crew in there before us and we're happy when they left. We all ordered pizza and their beer list was local and a great variety! I didn't get to partake due to being pregnant but the others I was with enjoyed their beers. I ordered the mushroom pizza and it was SO GOOD. The pizza here is worth all the hype and reasonably priced. My husband got the Sopressata pizza, my dad got one of the specials, my mom got the French toast, and my brother got the margherita pizza. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The only reason I wouldn't give this 5 stars was the service. Everyone seemed to be getting checked on by the other server but ours ignored us and we had to flag him down for everything. We didn't get to order more beer or even get refills on water because he was so absent. Though the service was lack luster, I'd go back for the pizza alone! Oh and if you have yelp, check in! You get free beignets!

Yelp
Quality pizza, probably some of the best food in the neighborhood. Good beer selection and great service. A few tv's set up so it's good spot to catch the game and drink good beer

Yelp
I got to experience Philomena for the first time a couple of days ago and it didn't disappoint as I met up with some new friends for brunch. Someone in the group picked the location as they heard good things about it. I'll admit I don't usually think pizza for brunch and although I didn't end up ordering pizza- I was impressed at the variety on their menu. We showed up around 11am on a Saturday afternoon- it's located on the corner of 14th Ave. and E. 18th near Lake Merritt area. There is a huge open parking lot directly across the street from the restaurant which is convenient. There's also plenty of street parking in front and on the side of the place as well so you don't have to worry about your car. With a party of 11, we were accommodated right away with no wait time. It wasn't crowded at this time but quickly amassed a nice crowd shortly after. This place seems very popular- there were a steady stream of customers and there is plenty of seating inside and in the back of the restaurant near the restrooms. No outside seating. Now on to the food- I looked at the brunch menu online and had a good idea of what I was going to order until I found out they had a regular menu. Brunch is from 11a-3p. One of the ladies in my group has a lot of food sensitivities and they were able to accommodate her. There are lots of pizzas (even vegetarian options), big healthy salads, breakfast bowls, skillets and burritos for brunch. I ordered from the regular menu and selected to "build" my own garlic waffle fries with cheese sauce, mushrooms and an over medium egg. Man- it did not disappoint. The fries were seasoned well with a nice touch of garlic and were "crispy" like I like it. The cheese sauce was ooey and gooey throughout- the egg broke open beautifully when I put my fork through it and the mushrooms added a nice meaty flavor. Next time I'll add pepperoncinis- yes next time cause I will be back! Other selections in our group- a pork belly hash with nice thick slices of pork, big pieces of bread and coupled with a Bloody Mary that looked more like a charcuterie board- LOL! See the picture. It was pretty. Two of the ladies had salads served in big bowls full of fresh produce and greens. Mostly everyone left with a to go container because the portions are huge. Also, when I "checked in"- I got 3 free beignets. I know- beignets in a pizza place but hey free and I've never had one. TBH- I was a little underwhelmed but since I've never had one from New Orleans I can't compare it to anything else. It's fried dough with powdered sugar and a side of chocolate sauce. It could've been hotter and the dough crispy or at least flakier for me but I brought it home to repurpose it into some sort of dessert treat. It was still nice for free! It can get a little loud in there due if it's crowded- we had to almost yell to hear each other but I didn't mind. Our server Diane was very personable ,sat with us to chat and kept the water glasses full. And the nice part they were able to split our bill between our two tables. This would be a great place on game day especially with Super Bowl coming up. No reservations required so get there early before any rush.

Yelp
What a great find! Amazing pizza and awesome service. And the prices! Chefs kiss!! We had a great brunch! We started with a pitcher of Mango Mimosa :) The pizza crust was delicious and we ate it up in minutes! Absolutely recommend!

Yelp
Philomena is a pizza place in Oakland off of 14th Avenue. I've enjoyed their pizza selections with good service. I've mainly tried them out when my friends whom are on their kids' school Parent Teacher Association (PTA) have done fundraisers where 10% of the sales showing a code or flyer go to the school PTA. I definitely support local businesses that support the local communities, even if the primary motivaiton is for write-off or good PR. They have a pretty convienient online site for making online orders, I think they're on Doordash or Grubhub also but I tend to order directly so the restaurant makes more $$ from the order. Their pizzas are pretty flavorful. I've also liked ordering their Caesar which uses anchovies in the dressing (not sure if that's a traditional recipe, but I've liked when people use that), they clearly put in a little extra effort to cutting up some romaine and pouring a little caesar dressing.

Yelp
Horrible experience from the service to the empty beignets with NO powdered sugar they served. I ordered lunch and had to DRIVE there and back 2x to return the S food they served, that cook needs to be let go! The cashier was slow as molasses as well, didn't even know how to do a credit card refund so gave me cash. 11am March 5th 2024. I won't recommend this place to a soul! The pizza looks like a kid made it, with scarce toppings thrown together.

Yelp
First time eating at Philomena and now we're kicking ourselves for not coming sooner. How is all of Oakland not waiting in line to get in the door?? There were a ton of take out orders, but this spot is definitely worth a visit in person. Just felt so comfortable and easy. BIG shout out to Ilene for making our meal so special! Please note: the portions here are HUGE! My husband ran a half marathon this morning and even he couldn't finish his meal (thank goodness, because now we have a midnight snack). You get a LOT of food for an incredible price. We ate: 1. 16" Margherita pizza 2. 10inch Gluten Free Mushroom special pizza (this was the best gluten free crust I've ever eaten - I would have assumed it was not gluten free considering just how tasty it was) 3. 10inch Miss Piggy 4. Tater Tots (came in a HUGE skillet!) 5. Sour Lady Apple cider (nice and dry and delicate) 6. Saison beer on tap 7. Build Your Own Salad (they aren't kidding when they say that one salad could feed the table) 8. Beignets (3), free with our Yelp deal! Everything was so, so good. Can't wait to go back and become regulars!

Yelp
On a very rainy afternoon, two of my friends and I decided to visit Phiomena. We were so glad we did. Our waiter was teriffic. I had their burger, which was perfectly cooked and the bun was excellent. The side salad was very good. One friend had their Hawaiian pizza, which was excellent with a perfect crust. The other had the Sopressata, which she loved. And they serve real Coke. And Biegnets, with rich chocolate sauce. Oh, my! We also loved their wall art. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Got the bbq wings and the pizza- overall amazing! Good portions and tasted amazing even after it had to commute back to my house. Also very good for leftovers

Yelp
We had a great Sunday dinner here! Came in at 5pm and were seated immediately. They had the Warriors game on and they have plenty of TVs. Great beer selection and the servers are great. We got- *the garden salad - a standard salad but was good! A good portion good enough for 3-4 people *the meatballs - a little spicy and the cheesy bread was delish! We also ended up dipping our pizza crust in the sauce *the margherita - so good!! It has this yummy chunky garlic oil on it so it's garlicky but not overpowering *the beignets - fresh and fluffy! The chocolate sauce was nom We will be back! I think we've found our new pizza spot in this neighborhood.

Yelp
The pizza was awesomeness in a slice!!! Everyone enjoyed the crust!!! They have a lot of beers and good cocktails! Everything was reasonably priced!!! The server was very friendly!! The server window for "pick-up" is a nice touch, But they do shout the names n such.... So we moved away from our original spot to avoid that interruption during our conversations. The place is clean and they have bar seating, as well! Street parking only! The restrooms were clean and gender friendly.

Yelp
Wanted to try something different as we are just emerging from pandemic precautions. We went to Philomena and were so happy we did. The restaurant is spotless with a varied menu, delicious food and great draught beer selection We both shared a salad which was cool, crisp and fresh. Lots of grated parmigiana cheese. So good. I ordered a margarita pizza which hit the spot. My wife got a meatball sandwich with a huge portion of delicious tater tots. Haven't had a tot in years and now realized I missed them. Will return to Philomena soon. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We only did take out and the pizza was wonderful, reminded me of east coast pizza! Of course east coast pizza (not Chicago) is really impossible to find as we have it on too high a pedestal
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Pizza was awesome! Enjoyed both the mushroom and the miss piggy. Maybe my favorite specialized pizza place so far in the area. Would definitely come here again. The vibe of the place is nice, it's not too big or small. Didn't get drinks but seemed like they had some special drinks. Great service considering there was one server for the whole restaurant for some of the time, she's a great worker.

Yelp
Philomena did not come to play, y'all! That pizza, that beer, those beigneeets???!! Oh mama! Now, that's some good chit right there (excuse my half censored French). This place has been on my to-try list for some years now. When my friend suggested that we stop by for Sunday brunch, there was no hesitation about it. Dropped in around 12:30 in the afternoon, and the place was slightly empty. I really like the casual vibes. It's like a small pub meets sports bar kind of atmosphere with high tables and several mounted TV's for your sports viewing pleasure. We sat inside but they do have a few patio tables out front. Service was a little lacking but it wasn't horrible. The lady that helped us seemed to be pre-occupied with other things which resulted in a slow response time. You can actually order right from your table by scanning the QR code, but we decided to take advantage of the full service (I prefer this anyway). What's nice is that you can sample some of the beers before you decide to buy a pint. They also have a great tap list with a few other options for those who aren't a big fan of beer. After sampling a few of the beers, I decided to have a Pineapple Sour from Gilman Brewing while my friend chose their speciality Shiso Mint Mojito beer cocktail. They have a special brunch menu on Sundays, but you can also still order from their regular pizza menu too. The brunch menu looked tempting, but I was in the mood for some pizza. Ended up ordering the Miss Piggy pizza which is similar to a meat lovers style. My friend stuck with the brunch option and ordered the pork belly hash. We both took advantage of the free beignets with the Yelp check in offer. Sooo, first of all... that damn pork belly hash looked and smelled friggin' incredible! I didn't get to try it, but my friend really enjoyed it. It had me second guessing if I had made a mistake in ordering the pizza. But when my pizza arrived to the table, I was a happy camper. It's a thinner style pizza with a puffy but crispy crust. Taste-wise, it was everything that you'd expect from a solid meaty pizza. Good toppings, nice flavor, and really tasty cheese. My favorite part was the crust because I loved how it wasn't a thin crust but it was still crispy. It wasn't the best pizza that I've ever had in my life, but a good solid pizza that I'd happily order again. Plus, it reheats extremely well and actually tasted even better the next day when I airfried it. About those beignets; scrum-diddily-umptious! Mm hmm! Uh-huh! Dem suckas were mouthwatering. When I see beignets on the menus out here, my expectations are always super low. I know that sounds bad but... too many bad experiences will do that to ya. We were both blown away by how amazing these beignets were. So light, so fluffy. The perfect amount of powered sugar and sweetness. And that dipping chocolate was like the icing on the cake. I couldn't believe that they were giving these out for free (but please don't stop now... thanks! Bahaha!). But honestly, I'd happily pay for these because they're THAT good. Save room for dessert, folks! Aside from the spotty service, everything else was amazing here. I can certainly see why this spot is a local and town favorite. Would love to make another pitstop here when I'm back in this part of town.

Yelp
Came here to watch the final game of the NLDS. It's a legit pizza parlor sports bar, albeit a smaller one. There are just four big tables and two counters, one at the bar and one by the window for sit down dining. They have four large screens that are pretty high up on the walls. There's also a few umbrellaed tables outside. We ordered the Mushroom pizza and added sausage and pepperoni. The red sauce was delicate and well-balanced. There's a light layer of mozzarella compared to the typical restaurant pizza. It's a thinner crust, which I wish wasn't so soggy in the middle. But the toppings were an attractive spread of very fresh ingredients. I also liked the fact that they offer chili oil as well as the typical crushed pepper for your sprinkling pleasure. The chili oil is not as spicy as the crushed pepper, but it added a soothingly smooth dimension to the slice, reminiscent of the Hellboy at the infamous Paulie Gee's in Brooklyn. Many pizza places simply don't offer the option of chili oil. There's also a live tap list of microbrews on the blackboard, with a good sample of craft IPAs. Parking is plentiful on the street, but be careful with your valuables. I didn't secure my trunk once when I parked on the side, and someone stole my sleeping bag.

Yelp
40 fuckin dollars for a pizza to get delivered and its missing half the toppings. I called to ask why and they only wanted to argue w how much I paid and can't tell me why it's missing everything I paid for. Shit service and disrespectful. Never wasting my money here again. Punks

Yelp
We had a band rehearsal today and were STARVED for CARBS. 1 16" pepperoni and one 16" hot sausage & jalapeno did the trick for this quintet. We loved every bite: the crust was perfect, the sauce was tangy and not too copious, the meats were delish and NOT too spicy but still SPICY ! Not stingy at all with the cheese, which is fantastic these days: most places have plastic cheese and not enough of that (as if we wanted more plastic, but still) Even the arugula (side order/addition) was fantastic. Yeah, it's a bit (a little bit) more costly than dominos or ground table places but this was GREAT PIZZA. This is why we LOVE Oakland. I hope everyone tries this place. I know we'll be back.

Yelp
Beware - they will spam text you forever with ads! This is one of the best pizza places in Oakland, but do not give them your phone number. I get spam texts from them without end. Can't just block because they keep sending from different numbers. Would be a 5 star review if not for all the spam texts Posting here in hopes that this great restaurant will realize that spam only turns people off.

Yelp
It took me four years and the pandemic to return today and so happy to have a lunch meeting here! First, plenty of street parking. The store is spotless and inviting. Sports are broadcast on big screens. QR or hard copy menus available. A super friendly masked server was absolutely lovely! Three of us shared a Cesar Salad with anchovies on the side and a 16" Miss Piggy pie. It is a nice thin buttery crust topped with Red sauce, mozzarella, parmesan reggiano, pork belly, black forrest ham, Italian sausage, and green onions. Easily enough for 3 or 4 people. Oh! The most delicious Beignets came complimentary with the Yelp check-in! There's more on the menu and a plethora of craft brews. Again, it is a great space and fabulous service. I won't wait four more years to return!

Yelp
Such a cute neighborhood spot! I loved the friendly neighborhood vibe, the murals on the walls depicting Bay Area highlights, the good service by Kimberly, cold, delicious beer, and OMG, the pizza!! I'll eat just about any pizza, cause it's hard to mess up pizza and it's my favorite food, but I'm a connoisseur and it's rare that I go, "WOWWW" and this pizza is WOWWW, you guys. Tasty, crispy-and-chewy dough, perfect amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. (Only suggestion would be to sweep the oven periodically because of using cornmeal when shaping dough and there were small burnt charcoal nuggets baked on the bottom of the crust. Did not stop me from eating the entire 10" pizza! Look at the photo, there was nothing left )

Yelp
I have been here twice and loved it the first time. The service was excellent the first time, a young fella who was engaging with my dog and attentive to us. The pizza with the egg was amazing and my wife loved the vegan cheese pizza. Well they had an off night. I tried the Mac n cheese side (rigatoni with a four cheese sauce) and received a small container of dry, under sauced and flabby pasta without any flavor (seemed like they didn't even boil it in salt water). All for $10. Very disappointed! Our pizzas still had a nice crust and flavorful toppings but still could have used salt. We did take out this time too! If we had been in house they would have remedied my issues. They have good service.

Yelp
Delicious food and a very low key vibe. Only 1 other table was occupied during Saturday lunch

Yelp
We ordered from them for delivery - pizza was awesome. I tend to like detroit style and husband tends to like thin crust - so we never agree on pizza - but we both LOVED this! We liked to so much we went to their brink and mortar location and had a wonderful time. Staff was so nice and attentive. We had a salad this time also and it was so fresh! I rarely write reviews but we like it so much and the people are so nice - had too. Plus - leftover pizza reheats so well - even days later!!!

Yelp
Came here for my birthday brunch with a few friends and had the best time! It was great to be able to try all the different options as I usually default to the pork belly hash, which is an insane deal. The lox pizza is a must try! Friend had the gluten free vegan pizza and it was delicious. Everything was incredibly delicious and the staff is the best! So friendly and attentive, they really cared that we had a good time. We had bottomless mimosas and some of sour beers. The beer selection is always top notch The best part is the price, you can't get a better brunch deal anywhere. It's practically a steal! Best brunch and pizza spot!

Yelp
We got the Harbor side pizza with ham toppings because I like meat. We also got their Thai garlic wings and while it was soggy, the flavor was good. I got this as take out and the pizza wowed me. I appreciate that the arugula came on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. I can only imagine if we got it fresh and dined in. I will come back here because I really want to try the pork belly pizza but this was one of those Yelp searches that impressed me to come back when I crave pizza.

Yelp
Can't wait for more people to find out about this place!! I love the aesthetics, a nice clean bar with the perfect pop of Feng shui. The music was so soothing, and somehow matched perfectly with the sports playing on the TVs. They were even considerate of the non sports fans and saved one television for regular movies. The beignets were amazing, so happy I didn't have to share, and Una was the sweetest , so attentive and in tune with my needs without them even being expressed. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Well....we picked Philomena, simply because it shares the name of my Gramma that passed away. Next time we go, it's going to be picked for all of the delicious reasons we were shown today. The place was quiet...too quiet. We sat immediately at a high top. (Pick your own seats) Our server was amazing. So polite, and friendly. My wife wanted to try the Peach Cider so she was provided a sample to be sure. It was amazing! I opted for the out of this world Bloody Mary. It was stacked with meats and cheeses and pickled veggies. It was just the right amount of spicy. If you are lookin for a BM this is the must go to place. I ordered the Shakshuka. I was taking a risk because I'm not usually a huge fan of pasta sauce. But it sounded enticing, because BRUNCH! And it was really out of this world. The house made Toast provided the perfect vessel for the eggs and sauce. The addition of the Italian sausage was a must. Every bite was spectacular. My wife ordered the Pork Belly Hash. She loved it! It was a nice change from Corned Beef Hash so we were happy to see if on the menu. We overheard a staff member tell another customer that everything on the menu is made in house except the tater tots and waffle fries. I then ordered an OJ mimosa. They have multiple flavors but I like the classic. It was perfect. We made conversation with our server and we asked if they had any shirts for sale. They had my Granmas name on it! Of course I wanted one. Unfortunately they do not. Although they are so cute they should. A little while passed and she came back to our table with 2 shirts and said she was able to get one from her boss for us to buy! What a way to go above and beyond for your customers! We stayed a while, my sister in law showed up and by this time it is late afternoon so we decided to order a pizza. We got the Combo Special Pizza. The one thing I did not get a picture of. And it was so good. Toppings were fresh, it was hot and gooey. And the crust. Oh man. The crust. That crust was out of this world. Some of the best pizza crust I've ever had. Anyways, the whole experience was great. We can't wait to come back. 10/10 recommend.

Yelp
Updated per Covid: Decided to go for brunch this time! Ordered online for picked up, French toast, applewood sausage, hash browns, cold brew and a mimosa kit (OJ & a bottle of Brut). My boyfriend got the Philomena Plate (scrambled eggs, toast, hashbrowns and applewood sausage). Oh and we got beignets too because... BEIGNETS!! He scarfed down his food before I could snap a pic. But the food smelled and looked so good, I just HAD to plate my meal. Hope I did it justice. I was so happy with the extras they added in; strawberries, blueberries, whipped cream, syrup and butter came with the French toast; chocolate with the powdered beignets; and almond milk and sugar with the cold brew. Fancy brunch FTW. So glad they were able to reopen and even offer outside dining. Brunch was so delicious, filling and tasty! Highly recommend.

Yelp
Have been going here for years and happy they're still around. Food is great - portion size for everything is big so two people could definitely share if you're looking for a meal that won't break the budget. They also have great discounts / rewards if you sign up for their rewards program. Service is friendly, atmosphere is low key. Great neighborhood spot. Sorry to hear about recent break ins. Will continue to support.

Yelp
Time: Friday 4:30pm We were craving pizza on a Friday evening to watch the new 4hrs justice league film. We ordered online for the margherita pizza, then waited about 30min to pick up the food. COVID PROTOCOL The pickup window is outside of the restaurant. There's a small window by the side of the restaurant to pick up food. Staff wore masks and everyone are must wear a mask and social distance. SERVICE My pizza was ready as soon as I arrived. If I had know to check in on Yelp when I got there, I could of gotten some dessert beignets too. The staff was so friendly, she gave me the order right away. We ordered online so there's no payment transactions which made the pick up experience so quickly and efficient. WHAT I ORDERED Margherita pizza Absolutely delicious. Very light and cheesy, just the way I like it. I tried their other protein pizzas as well, still prefer margherita. I was late to pick up the pizza so when I ate it, it was cold. It cools down very quickly. I would recommend reheating the pizza when it gets cold. I'll definitely be coming back for more pizzas and beignets next time.

Yelp
Stopped by for a Thurs happy hour and had a seat right away. Good sized pizza with Yelp treat for Beignets
