Best “fish & chips” In Québec City! The thick square fries, the English style batter on the fish of your choice (Haddock, Cod or Hake) and the special tartare sauce… So good, I could swear I’m back in London England! I also tried their poutine creation (Fries, fried fish nuggets, curry sauce, cheese curds, coriander & special home made tartare sauce) Staff is really nice, polite & efficient. They have a small outdoor seating in the summer months. They also do Takeout. Highly recommend! GOOD JOB 👏🏻

This is the best fish and chips in town! Truly traditional UK-style — the batter is light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned. You can choose from cod or other whitefish, and everything is fried to perfection. They also serve authentic English specialties like beef and kidney pies, Scotch eggs, and even fried Mars bars for dessert. The terrace is amazing in the summer, and they offer convenient to-go lunches too. Service is always friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this place if you’re craving genuine British comfort food

Absolutely delicious fish and fries. Everything tastes so fresh. The fish batter is perfectly done. Unique paper packaging for takeout adds a charismatic touch. Hard to find good cod in the city, this is the place to go, I promise you.

I am in love ! I am a big fan of fish and chips and I have tried many places but at Phil's fish and chips I found the perfect combination of size, flavor, taste and staff friendliness. The place from far doesn't look much, but what's inside is a "bijou". Very happy with the place. Sitting place are a bit uncomfortable after a while, but so worth the detour. Would most likely return to this charming place.

By far our favourite place to eat around here. The fish is fried to perfection, their chips are crisp and tasty, and what unique sauce for the poutine (we ask for the sauce in the side as it can get a bit overwhelming). The only complaint is that they're not open on Sun, Mon and Tues!

My friend suggested we go there for lunch and wow, what a discovery for me! I had no idea Quebec City offered such authentic, top-quality Fish and Chips. I tried the Aiglefin, and honestly, it was the best I had on this side of the continent. I am glad I discovered this humble hole-in-the wall of a restaurant. I even was able to thank the chef personally, who of course is from the UK! I told all my friends and look forward to returning!

Even if I had to risk serious questioning of my reputation as food lover, I would still declare that Phil's Fish & Chips is one of the best fish & chips joint you can find in the whole country. I could leave it at that, but I should tell you that the batter is light and dark gold (as it should be!), with a puffy space between the fish and the crust (as it should be!), the fish is fresh and tender (as it should be!) and that the chips are chips, not fries (as it should... etc.) This is a gem, as rare as they come. How lucky I feel to have discovered it!

This is not your mother's Authur Teacher's Fish and Chips, this is old England's style. Big hung's of hand dripped Haddock or Cod served with fresh hand cut potatoes served in brown paper. (The way it should be) it comes with hand made tartar sauce and salted vinegar. Absolutely, delicious. Walking distance from many of the nearby hotel's
