Philz Coffee, particularly this location, has become a significant part of my coffee drinking journey. I recall the day I had my first Mocha Tesora, and then the Mint Mojito the very next. As of now, I have tried nearly all of the dark and medium blends as well as the featured creations.
I tend to stick with the original blends with my favorites being Tesora, Philtered Soul, and Jacob's Wonderbar. The Pork Sausage & Egg Burrito used to be my favorite food item but didn't taste nearly as good in the recent months. Perhaps a change in recipe or supplier is to blame?
Most of the baristas are great and there are three names in particular that I hope are on the cup because they make it so much better. One barista even remade my coworker's drink when I had ordered incorrectly. Another, however, is notorious amongst my coworkers for being dismissive and unfriendly but I feel like this sentiment simply isn't true for the rest. The establishment itself is nice and roomy, providing a decent workspace for some.
Currently, I tend to make my own coffee at home in pursuit of specialty and organic coffee, but I'd never hesitate to stop by Philz. And while I prefer relatively fresh roasted beans, you can be sure that I always have a bag of Tesora beans in my pantry.
