With the Summer Weather, Right Now Is the Best Time to Walk and Snack in San Francisco | Eater SF

"I stop into Pho 2000 in the Tenderloin for chả giò, which are far more portable and just as good a reason to grab something to eat while walking." - Garrett Schlichte

Stopped in for the first time because we were craving a warm bowl of soup on a cold, rainy day, and it hit the spot perfectly. The Atmosphere: The restaurant is located in a strip plaza with plenty of convenient parking. Inside, the aesthetic is really nice and clean. It wasn't very busy when we went—likely due to the weather—making for a quiet and relaxing meal. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming. The Food: They keep it simple with one bowl size for their pho, and the portions are impressive. Generous Meat: They do not skimp on the protein! My bowl was packed with a lot of chicken. Flavorful Broth: The broth was very tasty and had that authentic, comforting flavor you want on a chilly day. Overall: If you're looking for a solid pho spot in Artesia with great service and big portions, this is a winner. We will definitely be back!

We were here few months ago and it was good then. Came back few days ago with 'under new management' sign. Glad we tried it anyway, the pho broth was very tasty. Generous meat toppings and plenty of noodles. Only one size (large?) for $15.99. Worth it. The eggrolls were a bit smaller than other places but still delicious. $12.99 for 5 pieces.

Google
The food is great. The price is also great because is a good amount of food for the price you pay. Also they give you this sweet dessert for free. Is delicious by the way.

Google
Let me tell you this place is soooo good!! Its so clean and the staff is amazing. Came here yesterday and ordered the egg rolls, sausage spring rolls, and the special combo pho. Came back today for more.

Google
Great pho place with nice bamboo decor. I felt so relaxed sitting in this restaurant. The pho and vermicelli salad are great and worth trying. Their rice plates have rice that is better than most Asian restaurants I’ve been too. It’s very tender! The ice shaved dessert was a bit too sweet for me but the free tapioca dessert was just perfect.

Google
If you want good food with reasonable prices go here! They never disappoint on the quality of food. After a bad experience at a nearby restaurant, I decided to write a review to give recognition to this location because I would never go anywhere else, this place is top notch when it comes to food locally!

Google
Delicious Vietnamese foods and fast service with two servers helping serve our food. Not busy when we went around 6-7pm on a Saturday. They also give a free complimentary sweet mung bean after our meal. We paid $88 for our dinner but we have some to go for a friend, it’s fair for 5 people. Great location too, easy to find and around the shops and hotels nearby.

Jose L.

Google
Their Pho still tastes very good. The last time I visited this place must have been more than 3 years ago. The serving portion is still the same although they have understandably raised their prices. Blame inflation!

Yelp
This place is our staple when we visit Artesia. Really good food and good Value! The new management seems to have turned it for the better. Friendly staff, prompt service, and quick turnaround. Will definitely come back here again!

Yelp
The food is decent, just expensive and they don't have mint at all here :/ 3/5 - Pork & Eggroll Vermicelli. Wish this had mint! The eggroll is the crunchiest egg roll I've had in the area, so I'd definitely order just this as an appetizer next time! 5/5 - Oxtail Pho. Doesn't come on the actual bone but you do get a decent amount of meat and it's a lot easier to eat this way. The meat was phenomenal, and I love how there's so much green onion in this!
google avatar

Gabriel G.

Yelp
Broth is very good. I like the slightly thicker onions. I think the price difference from regular size to large was a bit high compared to other places. Regular was $18, large $22.

Yelp
Came on New Year's Day. We wanted Pho but ended up getting other dishes! The pork and eggroll vermicelli was pretty filling and felt like a complete meal with noodles, meat, veggies and savory fish sauce. The grilled chicken and rice special was tasty with the lemongrass mouthfeel and pickled veggies to round it out. The included soup was a bit salty though as it was the broth for pho. Ample parking in the strip mall lot with the 99 Ranch grocery store.

Lani P.

Yelp
SO YUMMY! have been coming here since i was a kid and never disappoints. The best food and service! Love the sago at the end.

Yelp
I walked in for lunch today as I was craving some pho (I know right? Who would eat hot food while it's 92 degrees). I was welcomed in by Deb, she quickly sat me down and explained the menu and their updated pricing. I was surprised at how affordable and delicious the food was! Their spring rolls were delectable and the pho was amazing, make sure you stop in and check it out. Thanks Deb for making my experience a great one!

Tash A.

Yelp
The service and food was excellent. The food was fresh and came out hot and fresh. Perfect for a rainy day

Yelp
We've gotten Pho2000 a few times but it seems like every time it doesn't quite hit the mark. Some things were pretty good, but always hampered by something else that was not good at all. The egg rolls were nice and crispy and the grilled pork and shrimp vermicelli was pretty tasty as well. However, the shaken beef was probably the worst I've ever had. It was full of fillers and barely had any meat and the sauce didn't take anything like what shaken beef should taste like. The springs rolls were also bad. Loosely wrapped and fell apart after the first bite, and lacking in flavor, though the sauce it comes with is good. I mainly ordered delivery so I can't speak to the service, but the location yields a large parking lot and several other restaurant options nearby.

Yelp
I have gone to this place to eat a lot and so far food was amazing the after dessert they give u once ur done with ur pho is outstanding, but the server was very rude and disrespectful, I asked nicely for water and she never came back to refill and when I asked again she got mad and have a expression on her face that I really don't like. I mean what was the issue and why the expression when I didn't do anything wrong. Over all food is good but I wouldn't go back if they have attitude and if they don't like for god knows what reason I don't know if they might spit in ur food. Honest opinion.

Yelp
Our service was 5 stars. The food was 1 star or 0 stars. I eat an insane amount of pho. This was probably one of the worst pho experiences. The summer rolls (some place call them spring rolls, but this one was a summer roll with shrimp) smelled terrible. You could smell that the shrimp had gone bad and our table couldn't eat the summer rolls. The lettuce was bad, visibly old, and like I said the shrimp smell was foul and the shrimp was definitely bad. The pho was the most bland broth I've probably ever had (countless pho restaurants in my history) and hardly any meat. $18 bowl too. Our waitress was extremely kind and did her job super well. She deserves all the commendations, but as far as the food goes, it was truly one of the worst pho experiences I've had and I'm constantly eating pho. Hope this place does better!

Yelp
I got the house pho and egg rolls. The broth was one of the best I've had and it was so filling...the flavor was perfect! Super crispy and delicious. The service was very attentive and I will definitely be back again!! Also plenty of easy parking in the 99 ranch lot.

Jason M.

Yelp
Wow, I have to say this place has made a comeback... With the new management, the pho broth is amazing. As a phonatic, this used to be the goto spot but with the previous owner, the place was neglected.. broth became bland and prices shot up insanely.. but now it's back! They lowered the prices of their pho back down to reasonable prices AND the broth is better than ever! The broth is addicting to be honest. Best flavor in town!

Yelp
The food is horrible here and is over priced. I came here after my doctors visit in Whittier and thought of trying out this place, I can't believe it dropped down to a 3 stars so fast. About 8 months ago, I was in this area and I saw the his restaurant, and I thought it was kinda expensive for a combination pho so I went to Pho Pioneer down the streets instead. Anyways, i asked the lady about the tri color jelly which is supposed to be a 3 colors bean drink ( sweet red beans, yellow mung bean and coconut). Is like a dessert with shaved ice. Is so deceiving from the picture, it doesn't look anything like it. And their House Special Pho for $17.49 is ridiculous, it has giant rings of raw yellow onions, brisket, beef slices and tripe which are overcooked. Some of the beef brisket are going bad, you can tell by the color when they cook it. When beef goes bad, it turns a teal/ green color like a mold, and when you try to cook it or boiled it, it turns to like a golden color, like gold fish scales. And I saw a couple of pieces from my meat. I took it out but I was so afraid of getting sick, I didn't finish eating all my pho. I just paid for it ($25.45) and tipped her $3.05. I WOULD NOT recommend this restaurant, unless you like spoiled meat. I waisted $28.05. But the lady was nice, that's the only good thing about this place lol

Yelp
Never think pho 2000 actually means PHO $20.00!! Pho/Rice/vermicellis bowl is in the range of near $20. If Possible to drain the Noodles water that retain in thr bunch of Noodles, Its made the pho like the noodle water when eating. Tasting more Rice water then Pho Broth.

Yelp
7/20/23 Yes....on a hot day, hubby decides to try the Spicy Korean Ramen while I have my usual #22 Bun (grilled pork & egg roll) I was going to have pho with tendon but I really wanted something fresh. The cool lettuce & pickled veggies did it for me. It sure hit the spot! Hubby ordered the new Spicy Korean Ramen. For $11 it looked tiny & underwhelming. He was pleasantly surprised when he found dumplings in the soup. He bit into it, thinking it was a little cool, but burnt his tongue and lip when he bit into the dumpling as it burst in his mouth! Granted, it was flavorful & delicious, but hot damn, he said it'll leave a mark lol. The ramen was nothing spectacular, it reminded me of the usual Maruchan noodles from the package. The broth was good, spicy. He said he'll order it again next time. Highly satisfying because I've been craving some of this food.

Yelp
I visited Pho2000 with three somewhat picky kids and my husband. We all have very different palates, so I think we got a good sampling of what they have to offer in terms of pho. TL; DR Portions were filling. Most of the food was yummy. The vegan broth needs salt. The 13-year-old ordered the Seafood Pho and announced, "There's a lot of stuff in here!" I think he was surprised to find so many shrimps, squid pieces, and fish balls because our usual spot's seafood pho is mostly noodles with a hint of seafood. The 12-year-old had the Chicken Pho and liked it. The hubs ordered the Vegan Pho and really appreciated the amount of veggies in the bowl. He said, "This is good because they don't use a lot of salt, and it has a s**tload of veggies." I, on the other hand, did not appreciate that my pho had no salt, but to be fair, I ordered the Plain Pho in vegan broth. Lastly, my youngest fell asleep at the table but woke long enough to complain his white rice was sticking together too much and was hard to eat. He also had some of the chicken from his brother's pho and said it was delicious. We were brought a free Thai Tea. While it was yummy, I only drank half because I wanted to sleep at night and wasn't sure how much caffeine was in it. We also all got tapioca for dessert (which I think is gross no matter where it's served), but the server was kind enough to let us pack it to go because we were all too full to eat more.

Yelp
My husband and I ordered: -Summer Rolls -Seafood pho -Lemongrass chicken (came with salad and soup) The service was good and the food was delicious. The servings were ample and the ambiance was decorated with bamboo and green plants. The food was healthy and tasty. I did not feel like eating beef or pork and there was plenty of selection for seafood and vegan eaters. I would recommend! Plus, it's not as busy as other Pho places in Cerritos ANDDDDD FREEE DESSERT!

Yelp
I went to UPS to return a package and was hungry and haven't eaten breakfast I saw this place in the parking lot and wanted to eat pho since I havent had it in awhile the sever was really nice especially to a family with a toddler, great service and the steak pho was delicious he then gave me a dessert which was tapioca pudding of some sort and it was also delicious I'll be coming back here.

Yelp
I came here the other day and got seated right away. I like how the place closes later since a lot of pho places tend to close super early. I ordered the oxtail pho and although this place is pricey, the portion size is huge. I ended up taking home enough leftovers that could make a full second meal! The oxtail was super tender and flavorful. The broth in the pho wasn't overly oily and had a good salty flavor. Definitely hit the spot. Plenty of parking in a parking lot outside.

Yelp
Yelp suggests a few things to consider in my review...food, service, and ambiance. Let's start with the best...service was phenomenal and the server was very attentive to getting my son and I water right as we sat down. There was only 4-5 people in the restaurant from when we got there at noon on a Saturday. I was prepared for a lengthy wait as per the other reviews but our dishes came in less than 10 minutes. Food. I'm not sure where to start. The veggies were fresh, I LOVE the pickled cabbage on the side, my son's bowl was generously full of crunchy fresh lettuce...but the protein on both was sadly 1 star at best. I had 2 pieces of grilled pork, one had grisle and the other was sliced super thin and burnt. My son's beef slices were shabu shabu thin but also cooked to death. I almost wished we had ordered them meatless. For dropping $42 on our 2 dishes, I expected more. Wishing them the best but it's a hard no on coming back. No one can out do Pho Tasty...even with the spacious 99 Ranch parking & great staff.

Yelp
Love this place ! Really good must try ! Great customer service, they are fast friendly and yummy food !

Yelp
I got chicken vermicelli for lunch and it did not disappoint! Would come again the service was friendly and welcoming. I want to try their pho next time.

Anonymous D.

Yelp
$15 for combo pho. It's pretty good. They got everything like mint, etc everything you would find. The service was fast and the owner was nice
google avatar

Charles K.

Yelp
Pho place always hits the spot and is consistent every time I go. The broth is clean and not too strong like some places. I get the House Special usually which includes an assortment of meats. I like their brisket the best. Would recommend getting egg rolls there too on the side. Prices have been increasing but I don't blame them with the rise of prices everywhere, and their portions are more than enough. Would recommend going.
google avatar

Maya K.

Yelp
A solid spot for Vietnamese food! We ordered their pho, spring rolls, and vermicelli. Everything we got was delicious and the service was quick & friendly. I also love that they give complimentary tapioca pudding after your meal!
google avatar

Mayra F.

Yelp
A place I love going to when I crave pho, great service, food didn't take long and it's peaceful inside.

Kevin H.

Yelp
After a long day of driving we stopped by pho2000 Very great service and spacious. Food smells and tastes amazing.
google avatar

Rina K.

Yelp
Free Thai iced tea when u get 2 soups!! Pho is pretty decent! Shrimp fried rice is also good too
google avatar

Jann B.

Yelp
Our server was really nice and attentive. Food however was not very good - lacked flavor and some of our dishes were bland. There must be a change in management because they now serve non- Vietnamese dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
Busy night for a Wednesday! Only one person, older gentleman by the name of Chuc, manning the restaurant from seating to taking orders to all of the above including answering phones & taking care of to-go orders. Watching him run from table to table juggling several tasks made me want to jump up & help him. BUT he was on top of it all! The service didn't lack & he did it all with a great attitude - it did not go unnoticed. We ordered steak pho & it was piping hot with large portions. Broth tasted great, I like mine sour, spicy, & sweet - definitely hit the spot. & they have chili oil! Also, free Thai Tea when you order two bowls of pho!
google avatar

Brandy R.

Yelp
Upon reading all the reviews left by previous customers, I was worried about the price, taste, and service here. The number one thing about the reviews that stands out is the price for 5 egg rolls - it's true folks. As always, I won't give a restaurant less than four stars unless the facility and service were not worthy of such review. Because, food taste and preferences are to each individual's taste pallete. Kind service was given immediately as we entered. I had the chicken vermicelli plate. Chicken was seasoned well and juicy. My plate did not disappoint. My plate came with two egg rolls cut in half. Personally, I suggest that if you really want egg rolls but cant eat 5 , you might as well order the vermicelli dish that comes with two egg rolls since it is priced the same as getting 5 . My favorite thing about this Pho restaurant was that there were three chili sauce options. (The sauces got me). Hey, most pho restaurants only have siracha as an option. So tonight, it was a good eating experience.
google avatar

Rom H.

Yelp
Most of the time when I'm at pho place I order the combination vermicelli cause I know myself that I always pack leftover to go. I can't pack pho, it will be bad when I eat again. This one make their sauce perfect for me, not salty full of fish sauce. So far I like my bowl here and the service was good, maybe I came during their slow time, not yet busy. The second order was a combination pho, he doesn't like it, no taste he said. We were given the dessert mung bean, warm and yummy for my tummy. Don't think we will come again since he said pho not good. Like the menu with pic of meats. Big portion so even the price is high, i can pack to go eat again for 2 more rounds.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been to a lot of places in Little Saigon out in Westminster, this place is just as good and closer to me! Couldn't take a picture of the oxtail pho but it was delish and def a shareable size for two, at $18. I'd say it's worth it! They give free dessert at the end, mung bean tapioca pearls! Yummy. Spring rolls were spot on in the peanut sauce... overall 5/5 for service, agility, and easy dining. Ambiance was nice too, loved the painting on the frame in wall!
google avatar

Yelp
The people working in pioneer locations stop taking phone orders at 9 I have to get in the restaurant to place my order

Yelp
Delicious! Service is great. The staff is friendly. The tapioca at the end seals the meal

Yelp
Good food, ok price, fast service. Order and given to you at your table. Service was fast and attentive. Ambiance was typical for a pho place.

Yelp
So my daughter wanted some Pho and so we decided to come back because it was delicious in the past however it has changed I ordered the oax tails and got a some full of fat!!mind you that you are paying 20 dollars per bowl and they serve me this the waitress co was rude and unwelcoming I barely got my food and she brings me the check staying at her they are busy when the place only had like 3 tables and the rest was empty I had to ask multiple times for condiments and if looks can kill I would not ever be coming back to this place nor recommend it as a matter of fact I recommend pho tasty which I wanted to go to but my daughter liked the desert they served which we never received !!I assumed she got mad because of the tip I gave her when she's even lucky she received with such poor service I've been a waitress and I would never treat my customers like this !!!!
google avatar

Yelp

Yelp
Great Food and opens Late Lots of different choices and Good Service Definitely would come back

Yelp
Poor customer service. The place wasnt full, though empty tables needs to be cleared. Server told us that she cannot tell how long the wait will be as there are no tables available to sit despite a lot of tables just needs to be cleaned up. She could have said "give us few minutes while well have ur table ready but instead said otherwise..left place along with other couple of customers waiting behind us
google avatar

Micky H.

Yelp
What happened to tbis place? Food? the only thing that is still good: broth of the soup and tendons The rice, eggroll, salads... I dunno. Price: we paid $70 for 2 people... just 2 pho and eggrolls? Everything is around $18-21! Service: Nice people, attentive, but the old guy made us feel so rushed - he sat behind us watching and waiting for us ro finish, wanting to kicked us out... well he had his cart ready to clean our table as soon as they have the check. Not going back there.

Lucygaga M.

Yelp
The service here is really great! The food is 10/10 I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and I actually do ! They are always very fast too. Their menus is filled with very tasty options. The environment is all vibes ! Very clean. This is my number 1 spot for pho ! I love the summer roll ! It's a little far from me but worth the drive and I happily make it every time ! Also they have a lot of seating areas !

Yelp
We were so happy that Pho 2000 was opened on Christmas Eve but the food and service were very disappointing. Location & Parking: Pho 2000 is located in the same shopping center as SF Market. There is a large parking lot in front of the restaurant. Quality of Food: The pho has no taste and was very expensive. The pho mostly consisted of noodles and veggies, there wasn't enough meat. We ordered Pan Fried Noodles with Chicken and Veggies. Most of the dish was bamboo shoots and corn. My boyfriend and his family were very disappointed since they are use to homemade Pho and fresh pho. I would recommend going to Pho Tasty if you're in the area. Pho 2000 needs to step it up when it comes to flavor and quality.

Steven K.

Yelp
Amazing service great ambience great knowledge with food. Within five minutes of coming in our food came hot and ready delicious.

Yelp
Right when we walked in, we were greeted by our friendly, kind, server, Daniel, who answered our questions with honesty & was always making sure if we needed anything & always alert with eye contact, checking up on us. The ambiance was pretty with green plants all around. No wait in line. Our order came quick-10 min, very fresh & hot & delicious! The only place that serves Oxtail with their Pho as of I know. My boyfriend ordered the Oxtail Pho. It was the bomb.com. Their meat was super soft & tasty! We definitely will come back for the Oxtail Pho! This is now our favorite Pho spot although it is our first time here. I ordered #61, the Filet Mignon with rice & salad. It was pretty good. As we were done. Another waiter served US dessert, tapioca (he slipped it to us, without knowing); it was fresh, hot & very delicious that I had forgotten to take a picture of it. This is not me. That was the grand fan-ally... with a surprise! My boyfriend was very impressed!

Sam R.

Yelp
The service was amazing!! They brought us water without even asking and checked on us multiple times! You can tell they really care about their work there and the Thai Tea is my favorite drink! The music isn't excessively loud and the ambiance is perfect for a cute night out. I 100% recommend!! Abby is an amazing server!!

Yelp
The restaurant has a welcoming vibe and looks very clean. We were seated very quickly and were also given our drinks in a very quick manner. We ordered the Thai Tea, French Coffee, Steak Pho, Special Pho, Egg Roll and the Sausage Roll. The broth of the pho was rich in flavor, and they gave a lot of fresh scallions which I love. The drinks were also delicious with the French Coffee having just the right amount the chocolate taste. The server was kind and attentive, and we were able to get the check and leave with ease. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back soon!
