Where to Eat and Drink in Hyattsville, Maryland | Eater DC

"Tucked away in a strip mall, this pho spot is a solid choice for all those noodle cravings. Service is generally quick, though be prepared to wait during peak hours — people flock here for the flavorful and affordable (about $12 for a large bowl) pho and fresh summer rolls. Good news, though: There’s typically parking available in the adjacent strip mall parking lot." - Mekita Rivas

Google
This is normally my go to spot for pho but after today I think I will be making my own. Found a roach in the box of noodles and fixings for the pho

Google
This little pho restaurant is pretty good. The pho soup is freaking goods. Seriously. The rolls are also very very good . I’m giving them 4 starts for the poor customer service and poor cleaning. Great places overall.

Google
The pho was good and service was okay. If you go when it’s busy, prepare yourself mentally to be seated at the same table with other customers (strangers). It was pretty awkward.

Google
Pretty good phở at a great price. This place is basically just phở but they do it well, and they do it fast. They take credit cards unlike some other places in the area. Highly recommended if you want a cheap good bowl.

Google
Autumn is my favorite season for soup, the air is crisp, and there's nothing better than enjoying a bowl of pho. At this cozy little pho spot, you'll find a warm, flavorful bowl of comfort. The prices are reasonable for the food you receive, the service is quick if you order ahead. if you come to eat in patience is a must as it is always packed inside.

Google
Best pho in town. Been coming here for my favorite soup for years and never had an issue. Their broth is very rich in flavor and delicious.

Google
Dogshit, no delivery and no REAL pho. A joke.

Google
Look at my last name. Now look back here. It's excellent pho. Bad customer service? You know the deal with these places. The worse the service, the better the food.

Yelp
The pho place is pretty big, planty of seats clean surroundings. The soup itself is alright(pretty decent) The service is quick cuz you will have that bowl of pho in 3 minutes after ordering. The price is very cheap for a bowl of pho ..

Yelp
Quaint little pho shop tucked away in a strip mall featuring a lot of Hispanic stores. There used to be a lot of construction in the area for the purple line, so the roads are terrible. Despite that, this place was jumping at 10 AM on a Sunday. We got the beef pho and spring rolls. The pho had plenty of meat and a light broth. However, the spring roll was more of a lettuce roll and the lemonade was not fresh. I know the lemonade thing seems random, but a lot of Vietnamese restaurants make it fresh to order. But overall the place is your standard pho spot and worth trying.

Yelp
I came on a Sunday afternoon and it was really busy. They first sat us at a dirty table which was not very enjoyable to sit in another persons mess. Food took a decent amount of time to get to the table after ordering, however this was a busy day so it is understandable. The pho itself was pretty good but nothing spectacular. Overall, it is a solid spot to get Pho, I would just avoid busy days.

Yelp
Pros - Good solid pho - Takes credit card - Good price Cons - Very busy on weekends - Could be some wait time if really busy for both seating and food arriving otherwise no wait.

Yelp
Slowest pho I've ever been to. I waited 45min for 2 bowls of pho and still waiting. Dirty tables and no server

Yelp
First time back since Covid. I got takeout. Small #1 and fried spring rolls. The bowl was on point as usual BUT the rolls!!! OMG! YUMM. They come with what I was told was fish sauce. It wasnt the regular fish sauce I love in my bowl. It was much lighter, a hint of sweet and very fine orange peels (I think. Lol) I can't wait to get another order. They charge a .50 fee per carryout container....Oh well. I'll get coffee next time.

Yelp
I'm originally from Philly - which has an astounding selection of Pho restaurants, from trendy and hip to no frills and cheap but still good. In DC metro area restaurants just generally suck. So with that said - I'm rating 301 on the DC curve - It would rate significantly lower if I were to compare it to Pho resteraunts outside of the DC Metro area. But alas if you need Pho in the DC Metro area this is it. It get's 5 stars not because it's the all time best ever - but because you won't find cheaper better Pho in the area. Do I recommend their summer rolls? Absolutely not. Do I recommend their spring rolls? Only if you really need something fried to go with your Pho. Do I recommend any of their drinks besides water? No, just no. Now, why in the bejesus do I recommend this place? Good, cheap, and fast Pho. That is the only reason. But in the DC metro area that is shockingly hard thing to find. The Pho comes out within minutes of being ordered, the ingredients are fresh, the plate of basil and beans is fresh, and the Pho is always good. The restaurant is relatively clean - a bit dingy - but nonetheless clean. Service is always going to be a non-native english speaker but the right food always comes out so no biggie for me.

Yelp
When I first wrote this review this was my first experience with pho. Now that I have tried other pho restaurants, I have to say the favor of this pho is the best that I have tasted. Definitely a little gem of a place. I eat here often Especially when it's cold outside I recommend this place.

Yelp
The price and bowl sizes here are reasonable. The broth is solid with good amount of variety of meats. The service is great as always, quick and friendly. Order came out less than a minute depend on how busy the place is, sometime can be few minutes if full house. Still, i never have to wait long. Menu is what you see is what you'll get. Everything is in the Pho bowl like how a vietnamese Pho noodle should be.

Yelp
Okay this is one of the most forlorn and pathetic pho places ever. The service is snail pace, it took almost an hour to get our pho. The Broth is beyond bland, the noodles were sticky. The tables were all covered in unbussed dishes, which I would not mind but here it is indicative of the owners not giving a rat's ass about anything. Also its dingy as hell which hey I love dingy when the food is good, but this place is not good. Why you would go here when you can go to so many great pho places in the area is way beyond me. Also my GF's summer roll tasted kind of skanky according to her. Again there are so many great pho places in the DMV why would you go here, its not even cheap particularly. I guess the owner does not care about the perhaps non car owning captive local clientele. UGGH.

Yelp
Got here and the place was very crowded. Came here with a couple of buddies to eat Pho. The establishment is kind of a sit where you want to restaurant (which is cool). The waiter came right to our table to take our order (of course we had to ask for minus) which was rather awkward, to show up with pad a pencil and no minus. Well the waiter took our order, and suddenly another guy shows up and retook our drink order and appetizer order. Food was coming out all around us then our appetizer came. So we waited...and waited...& 1/2, then 45min went by & STILL NO FRICKIN FOOD! Finally we give up & paid for what we ate. Upon leaving the manager apologized & said he didn't know what happen but explained that the 1st waiter forgot to put the order in. DUHHHH!!! Horrible service, and totally disorganized.

Yelp
I love the pho from this restaurant. I drive from DC when I can to get some. Since this establishment is located in a heavy latino populated area, the place gets packed. The weekend here is super crazy. So you cant really get mad with the wait time. You've been warned. So on to the food. The summer rolls are fat and fresh. Better than most places I've gone to. With a little kick to the peanut sauce. If you want the perfect bowl, get the number 1 on the menu. Loaded with all the good stuff. Very tasty broth that didn't need much seasoning. Any other place I've gone, I usually put a lot of sriracha and hoisin sauce. Didn't need too much here. Fresh veggies on the side to add to your already tasty soup. Had the vietnamese ice coffee, so damn good. Strong and not too sweet. Just the way I like it. My wife had a smoothie here and the taste is great. They make it a little on the chunky icy side. So its good if you like that. I read a few of the bad reviews that were very vague with their experience here. I bet they went at a super busy time. So naturally with these small businesses you will get either the slower service, or just struggling to keep up with the customers that are coming and going. So, if you're not ready for the busy weekend, go during the week when the staff isnt overwhelmed and see what they have to offer. I've experienced both. I learned my lesson and enjoy my delicious pho during the week. I have not had a bad experience with this place. I'm not counting the wait time on the busy day. When a place this small has heavy crowds, it's for good reason. The prices here are worth what you get. They've been around for many years and dont look like a hipster place so it can seem a little off. But I go for the soup. And as long as they are clean, as they usually are, I'm happy

Yelp
Best pho I've had yet. I got the chicken pho and the chicken was very tender. The workers are nice with fast service. Prices are reasonable. I will be returning next time I'm in the area. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Ohmygoodness, 5 stars!!! I live off of University Blvd and I was craving some summer rolls today. I was too lazy to drive all the way down Rt. 1 to Pho Vn One so I decided to stop by Pho 75 (which is right across the street from Pho 301) and grab a snack. Fortunately for me, they were closed early today at 5pm and wouldn't let me in, so I hopped back into my car and start driving sadly down the road back home. What do you know... next second I see another Pho place right across the street! I swear all I was going to order was some summer rolls... but then when I looked at the menu, a small bowl of pho was only $4.50 per bowl. I'm so used to paying $2 or $3 more, I was completely taken aback and I just HAD to get a bowl, along with my summer rolls. The summer rolls were great, not an overwhelming amount of lettuce/veggies, which I like, and they put the spicy sauce in the peanut sauce for you already :) Hit the spot. Anyways, next my pho arrives (I always get the small 15 Pho Tai with extra meatballs). I wasn't expecting TOO much because the price was so good, but the broth was delicious, the noodles were soft and chewy and delicious (some pho places give you nasty hard noodles) and I could tell that the meat was good quality too. They are cash only, which is pretty normal for pho restaurants. Overall just a great find. I will definitely be visiting again soon.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. I try and go at least once a week. Very clean and the broth is sooooooo delicious. I always have to remember that this place is cash only.

Yelp
This place is awesome. The Pho was really delicious, especially on a cold day. The most flavorful broth for Pho I've had in the DC area. The service was a bit slow, but it was worth the wait.

Xo B.

Yelp
The broth is amazing! Nice people. Small place but their huge portions make up for that. I absolutely love this place!
google avatar

Kate Y.

Yelp
The floors were filthy. I could get past this if the food was great, but it was only mediocre, and so was the service. Compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in the area, it doesn't measure up.

Yelp
This was my first experience with noodle soup. Not to say that the experience was a bad one, just wish I was more familiar with the ingredients and what not. The restaurant was clean, and the service was quick. The staff were courteous. The prices seemed reasonable ( a majority of the menu items were soups - expected I guess). Check them out, you might not be too disappointed.

Taha A.

Yelp
It was just awful. I couldn't understand the server. He would not answer any question i had about the menu, just pointed at different dishes, MAKING NO SENSE. The food came quick but was ghastly. The meat had no seasoning, not taste, felt like I was eating rubber. The soup just tasted like chicken broth with some salt and cilantro. the noodles were tasteless. The restaurant itself was gross. I made an account just to describe how bad of an experience I had here. The can of coke was the only thing that was enjoyable, because you can screw that up
google avatar

Mariama J.

Yelp
Broth was tasty and fried spring rolls were great. I ordered the chicken and my BF ordered the #1 beef and his broth was great. I will be returning.
google avatar

Daniel L.

Yelp
Unlike Pho 75 across the street, Pho 301 serves summer rolls. Whereas Pho 75's broth might be slightly better, Pho 301 seems to have a higher quality of meat. Its ambiance is much nicer with attractive booths and a large TV. The combination of these factors makes Pho 301 the ultimate comfort location to eat.
google avatar

Bobby K.

Yelp
For being a pho only restaurant, their soup is pretty underwhelming. The only way to save my broth was to add 1/2 a bottle of hoisin sauce. And I'm never a fan when the meat or noodles are all stuck together. Gonna try across the street next time.
google avatar

andrew s.

Yelp
Delicious pho. Simple, clean and attractive atmosphere. Fresh and refreshingly (in this town) non-fried "summer" rolls. Having the "Price is Right" on the giant TV didn't hurt either.
google avatar

Ebony R.

Yelp
I will give this place three stars as people are here eating so obviously they love it. It's all about red meat in this joint so Vegetarians beware. The prices are in fact reasonable. They at least had white meat chicken so I'm praying that's good. They told me it's a 10 minute wait so it's not bad. Next time (pending this is good) I will phone an order in untill I can find a better spot to eat at!
google avatar

Yesenia N.

Yelp
Was looking for ta PHO place close by. A friend recommended this place and i decided to give it a try. the Pho was delicious, quickly served. I wish they also gave cilantro but that's a personal favorite of mine. On my way out i ordered a mango smoothy which was great tasted natural. I will be going back!

JK K.

Yelp
I went to Pho 75, but they didn't accept credit cards & there wasn't an atm, so I drove away. Then I saw Pho 301.... they take credit cards. Everything was fine and dandy, but then I got addicted. That was problem, because they close at 8 pm. What's up with that? I would have given them 3 stars, but I called to get a take out order one evening at 7:35 & no one picked up. My fiance got there at 7:40 at the moment that I called a second time. The phone rang and they didn't pick up, even though the guy was standing right at the counter. It was like they were avoiding customers. I'm done with this place.

Michael D.

Yelp
An ok pho place. It's in a heavily Latino neighborhood, so the menu is in English and poorly translated Spanish. The broth is a bit thin in flavor (watery), so it does not compare that well with places, for example, at the Eden Center, but it is servicable. A note, I got food poisoning, but my girlfriend did not, so I am not counting that against the restaurant because I might have gotten it earlier in the day. But I note it in case anyone else happens to have food poisoning also.
google avatar

Elias C.

Yelp
this place is great, soup is always consistent, the menu is simple and easy, and the service quick and friendly. if you like pho, this is the place to go. oh and u can pay and tip on your credit card, which is awesome, considering most pho places only take cash, which is shady.

Sara P.

Yelp
I am so happy to have found this place! We went here for a weekday lunch. There were only a few customers, nice and quiet. Service was very quick. The Vietnamese iced coffee (sweetened with condensed milk) was amazing, and I was very pleased with the flavor of the soup broth as well. The noodles and meat do stick a bit when served, but they came apart easily when stirred. The small bowl didn't seem much smaller than the large bowl, and left me plenty full.
