Pho 95 - Review - Mar Lee - Denver - The Infatuation

"Pho 95 is the kind of place that always seems to have a small wait, be it the depths of winter or a scorching mid-August day. And even though there are easily 15 other pho restaurants within jogging distance, this is the place to go in Little Saigon. The pho, especially the bowls overflowing with the spot’s real claim to fame - a fried-garlic heavy veggie broth - always arrive with heaping plates of basil, dandelion, limes, and beansprouts. Though for anyone not quite so soup-inclined, the menu also has beef short rib plates, noodle bowls, and crispy noodle options." - Colin Wrenn

Pho 95 is a bit of a rinky dink spot, but it’s got a chill vibe. The A/C was blasting (which I appreciated), and they had ESPN on the TV, so it was a relaxed spot to hang out. I got the pan-fried crispy noodles with beef, and it was fire. The noodles were perfectly crispy on the outside but still soft and chewy inside. The sauce tied everything together and added a ton of flavor. Honestly, I haven’t seen this dish anywhere else, and they do it really well here. Overall, solid spot if you’re looking for a good, low-key meal. I’d definitely recommend it.

Google
Honestly shocked to see a Little Saigon in Denver Colorado. I’m on a cross country road trip from San Francisco and it’s amazing to see Pho 95 deliver great food and service. The portion sizes are huge!

We stopped by here for a take out. Took about 15 minutes to order and walk out with the food. They give really big portions, lots of rice with huge pieces of cucumbers and tomatoes. Fish oil sauce is good too. I liked the grilled chicken they made, but couldn’t enjoy the chicken satay. It was too dry and hard to chew. The grilled shrimp was good, not burnt. Overall it was a decent Vietnamese meal but no where close to the best ones we have previously dined in.

My daughter loved the fried chicken. The pho broth was very good

Google
Exceptional Pho - excellent flavor, texture, and quality. An authentic restaurant you'll not want to miss out on. Dine in or takeout. I enjoyed the vermicelli and egg rolls.

Google
Visited this place thinking it was a different pho restaurant. Tried it anyway. The place is dingy with torn booth seats and tables that look like it can be clean… or not. Ordered the pork spring roll and the peanut sauce was watery. The spring roll was nice. Ordered different variations of pho and all were lacking in flavor. The broth tasted like they used dirty meat. Portions are generous but lacks in flavor and taste. (Photo is my pho bowl at the end of my meal.)

Google
Pretty good Pho and one of the better ones in this part of town. One complaint is that the meat wasn’t very tender and could been of a better quality but the broth was very flavorful.

Google
Vegetarian pho was really good, veggie broth had more flavor than a lot of other places I've tried. Service was prompt and staff were friendly. Vietnamese iced coffee was really strong and good. Will be going back!

Yelp
New favorite pho place. The pho ga was amazing. The pho with beef and tendon was amazing. I like the fish tank. Can't wait to come back and try the bun

Yelp
Maybe we came in on an off day but our experience with the food was pretty meh. The food didn't really stand out and compared to other pho places we've had in the area, this was pretty mediocre. We ordered the spring rolls, soft shell crab, and the chicken wings and we were disappointed. The only thing that made up for the lack of flavor was the sauces it came with. Our apps were not flavorful at all. The pho was okay. It comes with a lot of meat even if you order the small bowl. But in terms of pho, I've had better in the area (our go to spot just happened to have been closed that day). Other things to consider, the parking lot is kinda small and it was pretty packed when we arrived. Service is friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I came for lunch while I was in the area. First experience here. Easy to park in the front lot. I was promptly seated in the table of my choice. The menu has enough, Vietnamese food choices. I was in the mood for a Pho since I had not had one in a while. Their broth is very tasty and complex as it should be. Enough fresh bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapeños, and basil accompanied the big bowl of Pho. My crispy eggroll appetizer was also very satisfying and tasty. Their men's restroom is clean and properly operating. The ambience is casual with soft contemporary music playing in the background. I would definitely come back here for a great bowl of Pho whenever I'm in the area.

Yelp
This is the first place I ate at in Denver and it did not disappoint! There are so many Pho # restaurants on this street alone in Denver, let alone throughout the entire city, so I'm not entirely sure what that's about, but my local friends swear by this place specifically and I can see why! All the food we got was SO delicious! We started with fresh spring rolls, which are always a must at a traditional Vietnamese restaurant! We got the Bi Cuon, which are the fresh spring rolls with seasoned pork skin within them. It wasn't crispy pork skin or anything, it was more shredded like mini-pulled pork bits, but it was super tasty nonetheless! I would just say I wish they put more into these rolls, like a ton of fresh veggies along with the meat and vermicelli noodles. We also got Cua Lot or soft shell crab as an appetizer as well. It comes on a bed of veggies, so you can break off a piece, wrap it in lettuce, and fill it with other veggies to make your own roll with it, making sure to dip it in the sauce as it'll be too bland without it! The crunch from the fried soft shell crab is very delicious and the crab they served us was very meaty and a good amount, so I was pleased with that! For my main, in fact for all of our mains, we got the pan-fried noodles. These are a personal showstopper for me, as I have never had anything like it before! These are not the traditional pan-fried noodles you might be imagining. Instead, it's like multiple lasagna-stacked layers of rice noodles, cut up into significantly thinner rectangles than lasagna. Those are pan-fried, making the outer edges and sides of the cube crispy, and then sauteed with veggies and meat. I got it with chicken (Pho Ap Chao Ga) and my friends got it with beef (Pho Ap Chao Bo Hoac Heo). My friends also got the salty lemonade drink, which they had had recently in SE Asia when they had gone to visit, and it was a delight to see it on the menu here. Another super unique thing that Pho 95 offers that speaks to its authenticity and was super unique! All in all, a very satisfying meal here with leftovers that I ate for breakfast for the two days afterwards as well! Loved it!

Yelp
This place looks like it was a fast food restaurant in a past life. I'm not a fan of carpet in restaurants, but it's mostly carpet. The food is excellent. They wrap their egg rolls in rice paper instead of the egg roll wrapper. The pho dac biet with meatballs was excellent. The service was fast and friendly. Definitely eat here.
google avatar

Yelp
I didn't like the food at all. The meat on chicken Skwer was big instead of small cubes. Very dry. No flavor. Spring roll only had vermicelli and shrimp inside the dough. I'm not impressed.
google avatar

Cole K.

Yelp
Place was so packed I nabbed the last parking spot when I arrived! I picked up some Pho to go, and they neatly packaged everything in separate containers. The broth was flavorful, and the additions were great. I walked in, picked up my food at the bar, paid, and left. Really no complaints here. I definitely will be back to dine in the restaurant next time!

Yelp
After spending a few days in Silverthorne got back into Denver only to find out our flights were canceled. So we decided to find a pho place to ease the mood of our cancellation. Decided to try out Pho 95, upon entering we were greeted by the waitress and seated fairly quickly. After looking through their menu we decided on the Beef Spring Rolls, Crab Wontons, and Two bowls of Pho Noodle soup (one beef and one beef/brisket) Compared to the pho place we have in Silverthorne, this place was much much better. The broth was good and wasn't too bland, they did put a lot of meat in mine and the other bowl as well. The beef spring rolls were okay in my opinion. I prefer the pork spring rolls over the beef. I feel sometimes there is a little too much fat on the beef they use. The crab wontons were ok as well. Tasted a tad bland to me and the sauce seemed very watered down. Definitely different from the thicker sauce I'm used to having them with. Over all I recommend any of the Pho Noodle Soups there and the Medium bowl was more than enough to hold me over for awhile.

Yelp
We were seated immediately! The servers were very friendly and helpful. We came here for a quick snack and were not disappointed. The pho was decent. It was served with plenty of proteins and a side of veggies. The broth was decent - nothing that hoisin and Sriracha cannot fix. The spring rolls were okay. I prefer more leafy greens and less noodles. The dipping sauce was average. What was extraordinary was the imperial egg rolls! Those little rolls were fried to perfection with a crispy outer layer. I lived that they were served with vermicelli and plenty of leafy greens. The fish sauce was perfect! This appetizer could easily be a meal! The imperial egg rolls is a must try!!!

Yelp
The service was quick and friendly, the dining area is bustling and we were lucky there was an empty table. The food came out quickly, starting with the crab wontons appetizer. The fry and breading were crisp and fresh. The cream cheese inside was the most savory filling I'd had in wontons, and the filling's texture wasn't creamy as much as it was stiff (it fell out when pulled apart). Overall good but not the best I've had. I got the egg roll pork rice bowl - massive portion and the pork flavor was a star on its own. The egg roll was crisp with a hefty filling. My partner got the rare steak and brisket pho (no. 6) , the broth was flavorful, the meat portions were large (even in a small size) and the noodles were tender. An honorable mention for staff always ensuring drinks are full (I drink a lot of water)!

Yelp
Wow this place is so good and the service was fast. The calamari was crispy and flavorful. The pho are huge. The veggies are fresh.
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
I'm not sure what I expected since this is Denver, but it could only be so good compared to the authentic pho I've had elsewhere. But overall, it was underwhelming but still satisfied my want for soup/pho. There was a huge portion of meat, which is really good but wow, it was a lot. My noodles were a little undercooked, but it was still pho, I guess. The place felt like it could be really authentic with the ambiance though. Service was fast.

Yelp
I came in for Saturday lunch and it was packed. There were 5 people (2 groups) in front of me and we waited maybe 5 minutes. They are fast. Great pho and spring rolls. The portion is huge. It's worth every penny.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice to see a pho shop in The Streets shopping area. They have some free parking spots in front. Otherwise there's plenty of parking in the nearby parking lots. They have bathrooms in the back. I saw that they had a pho eating challenge. I had lunch here. It was a nice spacious restaurant, and I didn't feel cramped. I shared an order or spring rolls with my eating partner, and they gave us each a sauce bowl. It was so good I finished the entire peanut sauce with one spring roll! The pho is decent. There is a clear distinction between small and large sizes. It's worth the price difference.

Yelp
Some friends from Cali were visiting and wanted to try the Denver Asian food scene so we took them here. It's my second time here and the pho is pretty solid. I always get Pho Chin Nam. I'm not much of a pho meat person, as I like the noodles way more, but the meat is actually pretty good. Must be the right amount of fattiness and taste since it stood out. They have all of the fixins: bean sprouts, Thai basil, jalapeño, lime, and my favorite culantro. If you're looking for a dish to blow you away with how huge it is, you must get the vermicelli combination noodle bowl. So much food! I also got the cha Gio appetizer because I wanted some fish sauce aka liquid gold. They give you 6 on the plate, nice little surprise.

Yelp
One of our favorite pho restaurants in Denver!! We have been to many and are pho-antics! Pho Duoy in Broomfield had been a favorite, till we stopped in here last year. We been back ad really love their veggie pho! Delicious! We have also had their veggie spring rolls which are good, fresh, but not the best we've ever had. Yet, they are still good ! Service was slow as we were there during a shift change. Yet, the service, once they were in place were very attentive. The Vietnamese coffee was of a good quality. Yet, also not the best we've had. But we do it again as the pho is so awesome here. Ambience was okay. A fish tank that was in the middle of the restaurant is gone. TVs are pretty easily viewed - as we caught some of March Madness and also NCAA wrestling - both of which we enjoy. Recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
This place did not live up to the reviews. Definitely below average pho. - Spring rolls 2/5 They contained a LOT of the noodles. Barely any veggies. The pork tasted a bit weird. The wrap was hard- making it seem like it was out for a while. - Pho w/ tendon only 3/5 Coming from California, I had high hopes for this pho restaurant. It has really good reviews. I got my pho and the broth IS NOT IT. It's bland. Pho is all about the broth. They gave a lot of tendon though. Parking is free in lot.

Ann Y.

Yelp
Ordered combination rice plate. The food is amazing! Huge portion. Good service. There are good sized TV at the bar also at the tables. It will be fun coming here to watch the game. Strongly recommend.

Yelp
We were looking for an authentic Vietnamese restaurant for Pho. The waiter and patrons were speaking Vietnamese (a good sign of its authenticity. Pho 95 did not disappoint. We had the shrimp and avocado summer roll for a starter. For Pho, we had the Medium size combo beef (brisket, flank, tendon, and tripe). There was a lot of beef to noodle proportion. The broth was tasty. My wife couldn't finish her Pho. I highly recommend Pho 95.
google avatar

Aundya A.

Yelp
The pho is definitely one of my favorites I've had in Denver. The service was quick, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They were very efficient for having a full restaurant on a Saturday. The spring rolls were very tasty, and my pho with rare steak was fresh and flavorful. Small pho was surprisingly filling.

Rick S.

Yelp
Very Attentive Staff. Food was authentic and amazing. Kid friendly and very clean I would highly recommend the #21. This is a gem of a Pho restaurant. Either location is a must-visit! I highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazing quality and flavor Food was delivered extremely quick as well. Can't go wrong with beef or pork with noodles

Yelp
This was the most reviewed Vietnamese restaurant in the area with the highest Yelp ratings, so my friend and I decided to come here. Maybe that's a bit basic and overrated, but we were hungry after a few days in Estes Park so we didn't care. We were seated pretty quickly at 10:15 AM this past Saturday and the food came quickly, too. SPRING ROLLS SHRIMP AND PORK (2 ROLLS) - 5.95 Both rolls were sizable and stuffed with a good amount of shrimp and pork. I thought the spring roll was tasty but nothing extraordinary. The peanut sauce was on the watery side, so it didn't stick very well onto my roll, and therefore, I was not able to taste much of the peanut sauce. Still tasty despite that. Get the rolls if you're craving them, but you won't be wowed. PHO DAC BIET (COMBINATION), MEDIUM - 13 First bite/sip will always be the broth. It was flavorful, but overall weak so I wasn't super impressed. The bean sprouts given did not look fresh, so we were disappointed. However, this restaurant gives you SO, SO MUCH meat. I've never seen a pho restaurant give you this much meat for the price. There's got to be double the amount of meat than what I'm used to. The quality of the meat was pretty good as it was tender and not too chewy (the flank had a bit too much fat for my liking, but some people like that so that's fine). Wow, I'm honestly really impressed by the amount of meat given here. There was also a lot of noodles, too, a bit too much for me so I wasn't able to finish. Portion size here is good and very worth. It seems like they're well known for the filet mignon and wagyu special phos. I was too hungry so I didn't even look at that part of the menu, which made me a bit sad because I definitely would have splurged a few extra bucks to give those a try.

Yelp
one of my favorite pho spots so far! the broth is soo tasty & the portions are great for the price. we had a handful of appetizers & each got a bowl of pho. egg rolls were perfectly done. as for pho, rare marinated steak was my favorite of all of the meats. i also added tofu and however they cooked it gave really nice texture. they get really busy so I'd recommend takeout if you're in a hurry. they also offer full bar! take note of the number that corresponds with your soup. when they brought our food out they called by number and seemed irritated that we didn't know what each was ie #12 is marinated rare steak. I'll be trying a pork noodle bowl next! they looked amazing too.

Yelp
Ngon xuất sắc luôn ~ Chính xác là vị đậm đà Việt Nam luôn ạ. Lần sau có thăm Denver mình và bạn trai sẽ ghé nữa. From Seattle with love

Yelp
Meh Are you looking for watered down pho? This is the place for you. Are you looking for watered down fish sauce? Look no further! If you're in search of Vietnamese food with a hint of decency while maintaining a higher water-to-anything ratio, come here. The only thing is that the ice water was predictably watery which was disappointing. Come Here for Mediocrity.
google avatar

Yelp
This is my favorite pho spot in Denver . The pork Bun is sooo good . Service is great . Atmosphere is comfortable. It's #1 for me!

Yelp
I can see why Pho95 has a 4.5 star average. Their food is top notch. Not usually a part of town we're in, but we were this day and it was a cold Colorado spring day. Pho sounded good and there were several restaurants in the area with high reviews. My wife and I each had Pho. The small bowl was more than we could eat, which was a shame, because it was so good. They're generous with their very fresh garnishes. We also ordered the egg rolls, and OMG. Next time, I'm having these as my meal. Next level flavor. Highly recommend Pho95.
google avatar

Tony T.

Yelp
We came here an hour before closing time after a long day at Rocky Mountains National Park. We ordered 2 Phos and a Bun Bo Nuong Cha Gio. The portions here are very generous and the food was so delicious. The employees are also friendly and chat with customers.

Yelp
On my trip to Vietnam, I had some amazing pho. This is the closest I have to that experience. Ordering the small, it was too big, so much food for a small bowl! I can't believe all the people were ordering large bowls on the tables next to me. Ambiance is typical for a pho restaurant, service was quick but they forgot our utensils and drinks, I can forgive that because the food was delicious!
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
Gotta love Pho 95! It's a lot of people's favorites for a reason-have yet to have bad food from here. I like the broth a lot better than other places, which is the most important thing for me. Sometimes it can smell a bit strange in the restaurant closer to opening, similar to a musty cleaning smell. But typically it doesn't smell like that and it's a good place to grab some pho and hangout with friends. Service is average, not exceptional nor lacking. Something to note is that I would not use their online ordering menu. There are apparently items on there that they don't even have...My coworkers and I asked for the convenience bowls listed on the online menu ($1 each), but they don't even have those. Thankfully, the manager went back and redid the transaction to give me that money back. It might be best to just call and order pickup that way.
google avatar

Kayla C.

Yelp
This is, BY FAR, the best pho I have ever eaten! I had some in Las Vegas last week that sent me craving good pho when I got back home to Denver, and *this* is the place to get it! I ordered a medium size of the "#21 PHO 95 SPECIAL TAI FILET MIGNON DAC BIET*", and I added shrimp (which came out on the side). The beef was amazing, the broth was incredibly flavorful and rich, and I added very little of the toppings to mine because it was so dang good on its own. I've raved about this dish to friends, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to have it again!

Jessica J.

Yelp
Food was amazing. I tried multiple appetizers and eat of them hit the spot. I loved the scallops in a half shell.

Yelp
Awesome Vietnamese place with great noodle salad! Highly recommend the combo option as you can try different meats.

Yelp
Located south of the Far Eat Market sits one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the Denver area. What once was a Taco Bell or KFC has been converted to an updated and welcoming establishment. Ordered a variety of items including the spicy edamame, crispy egg rolls, vegetable pho, and a combo vermicelli bowl. I knew we were in for a treat once the edamame came out with a red chile and garlic sauce that could have been a stand alone condiment. The egg rolls were served with a variety of vegetables including lettuce, Thai basil, bean sprouts, carrots, and cucumbers which are a nice contrast to the egg rolls and fish sauce. The vegetable pho was excellent with a broth that I would select over its non-vegetarian counterpart and the combo bowl was overflowing with deliciousness. Yelp listed this as one of the top Vietnamese restaurants in the area along with a couple Westword awards and I can attest that it is a great restaurant to come and visit.

Yelp
Love trying all the places in the Little Saigon district- they rarely fail to please. Pho95 is no exception. Vegetarian and marinated beef pho were terrific. One son also got chicken fried rice which was reported to be average. Service was great and quick. The space was clean and tidy.

Yelp
I think the general rule of pho is to trust spots with numbers in the name. So myself and a friend headed to Pho 95 for an early pho dinner. The menu has non-pho items as well. Spot is pretty unassuming, but it has parking, plenty of seating, and the inside is nice enough to bring the fam. We both ordered the number 13 (brisket, tendon, flank steak) - I got a medium while my friend got a small. The medium was just right for me to finish it and feel pleasantly stuffed! Some big pros: - condiments on the table, including both sriracha, and chili oil - LOTS of the add-ins brought to us. I think this is the first time I've gotten pho and had bean sprouts to spare - very friendly service, and appropriate prices My biggest con and reason for 4 stars is that my pho had a lot of fatty pieces in it - one was bigger than my spoon! Not sure if it was mixed in with the meat but it was definitely too big to pleasantly slurp up. The broth also was good, but not quite out-of-this-world. Still, a good spot for if you are craving some no nonsense pho, pho sure (heh)

Yelp
This is the spot for pho in denver! Super friendly staff and fast service. Decent sized restaurant where they were able to seat a party of 6 without a wait. High quality meat cuts and they even have a Wagyu Pho. Coming from the Bay Area where there's a ton of pho spots, Pho 95 is right up there in terms of flavor and menu selection. Highly recommend this spot and can't wait to come back if I'm ever in the area.

Yelp
I got myself a combination pho and the broth was really hearty. We got our food under 10mins. The memorable dish we had was the fried noodles! Sooo good...

Yelp
An unexpected visit and it was very satisfying on this cold day in Denver. Great variety of Vietnamese dishes. Customer service was unexpected, friendly. Server Phuong was helpful "guessing" the size we should have and tips for us out of towners. Parking was available this Sunday afternoon.
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
it ain't anything special - had high expectations given the glowing reviews but it was very very average. broth was very light and clean, but lacked the rich flavor that takes overnight to make. the portions come in small medium large but a small is plenty good for you if you're normally a regular. they did give plentiful meat portions and sprouts / basil which was nice! they were packed on a sunday 5:30 pm so service was lacking, for example we ordered summer rolls but they didn't give us the peanut sauce til 5 min after and we had already eaten most of the rolls. the rolls were pretty bland too... 3.5/5
google avatar

Jeff N.

Yelp
We had to wait a few minutes since we came during a busy time. They do have a good variety of Vietnamese dishes. We ordered some spring rolls and our entree is the Pho special. Springs rolls were good, Pho was okay, had to tweak the broth quite a bit. They do offer a good amount of proteins with the Pho though.
google avatar

My-Linh D.

Yelp
I got the pho dac biet and a few spring rolls and they were pretty delicious! The pho comes with a lot of meat and noodles so I'd size down the bowl. I got a medium and had to take half home and I usually can finish a small. The broth is pretty light but perfect with all the meat. The spring rolls were alright in my opinion. There was a good amount of greens and noodles but the peanut was a bit sweet for my liking. Overall a really good pho place!
google avatar

Yelp
The best authentic viet food in the Denver area. Portions are large and service is excellent. Get the eggrolls they're the best viet eggrolls I've had. The grilled pork vermicelli dish was flavorful and can feed 2-3 people. Pho broth was on point!
google avatar

Quyen N.

Yelp
Soooo disappointed. The pho broth was *VERY* watered down. So good luck with getting any real flavor. It's mediocre pho at best. We also got the vermicelli bowl... The fish sauce (nuoc mam) was diluted. The grilled pork was over cooked. The egg rolls were delicious, but not enough reason to come back.

Loren C.

Yelp
We have eaten at this place for years. They do have good pho... However, we have had multiple customer service issues. This most recent problem has been to much. We did take out for 2 brisket pho. When we got home and opened the food we were hit with a pungent rotten smell. It was clear the brisket had gone off. I worked in food service for years and I understand stuff happens. However, when I called to request a refund I was told no one else had complained, and to call back. When I did call back I was still pleasant about it bit still whanted a comp or something. We had to throw 50 dollars of food away and just whanted them to make it right. I was surprised when I was told the manager said he would not do a comp or anything. I explained we were loyal customers. But they apparently do not care about keeping your business. Anyway not going back now!

Yelp
The only place in denver I goto for Pho. Still the only place in denver I goto for Pho. May be the only future place in denver I goto for Pho.
