We were in the area and saw this place. I love pho so my husband stopped and we went in.
First impressions of this place weren't great, they have a huge black grease spot right at the front door, which you need to play, 'the floor is lava' with before you enter. The inside is pretty bare, no real decorations just tables and chairs. Which was okay, for the kind of place it is. (Diner style)
The server approached us and led us to a table right next to groups of other people. I don't like to sit on other people's laps when we're eating in public so we asked to move to a quiet, private area away from everyone. She said okay and we sat.
Things were fine. And then a group of six came in. Guess where she sat them? Yup. RIGHT NEXT TO US. Mind you, the ENTIRE middle section was WIDE OPEN. No one sitting in any of the, oh, i don't know-- TWELVE or so EMPTY tables in the center of their restaurant that they had available. But no. Woman sat that big group within 16 inches of us. WHY?
And THEN she has the nerve to take THEIR orders first! We were sitting there for about ten minutes at that point, no one asked us what we wanted to drink, or anything but oh, yeah, go help the LARGE CROWD of people who came in right away and ignore the two people who were there first! Sure. Make us wait even longer for their food to finish cooking before they start on ours. Let us watch them eat way before we do. That's a great move. Pffft. RUDE, THOUGHTLESS and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
We got up and left. Not going to be treated like that by anyone. She chased us out and was all, "oh-oh-oh i know you came first but but..." we kept walking out because who cares what her reason was? We were there first, period. There's no excuse for that rude behavior. Didn't get to try their food but, not interested anymore. Not the kind of establishment we want to support. Will NOT be back.
