Delicious phở gà and miền gà at awesome prices. This place has a reputation as one of the best Phở spots in Sacramento and I agree with that statement. Expect to wait between 15-40 minutes for your meal. Service could be improved by providing a menu and reducing wait times.

Bad service and wait time is too long. I was the first 10 ppl when they opened the restaurant and waited over an hour til i gave up and we left. Don't waste your time and money on a place that can't even turn on the lights for their customers. Everything is old and dirty, the old man uses towels he wipe the table with to clean the Sriracha and oyster bottle. This restaurant is basically run by old retired folks. Not worth my money.

Place is always packed with customers. You would have to wait, sometimes 20 minutes. On weekdays for a table and on weekends, 30 minutes. They do have dine in and takeout, but they dont have a phone number to call in for takeout. You would have to go there within my experience. This place is known for their delicious (pho ga), which is my favorite. You can choose either white meat ,dark meat or a combination of the chicken and the broth is always hot and so flavorful and trust me they put alot of chicken pieces. They do have another pho to choose from, but i stick to the one i know and love. It is hot in there even when the ac is on. Customer service is subpar. Only one person is taking the order, but the food comes out at a decent rate. I love this place.

we have been waiting for 1+ hour at the table and the food has not came out. service is poor with a bunch of retirees working extra slow. dont come here if you are hungry. extremely slow service! must be only one person making the pho bowls in the back. we have a table of 10. only 1-2 bowls came out at a time and by the time my pho came out, everyone was done eating. the thing is that management here dont care either!!! also the pho is not even worth it here.. the broth is very bland. this business dont know how to do business whatsoever.

Pho Anh Dao has reputable name and their food is not as good as it used to be. The facility isn’t clean compared to other pho spots. When I walked in, I wasn’t even given a menu, just asked if I wanted chicken or beef. Staff was not that friendly. I had the #1 beef special. It was 3/5 stars, good quality food. I will not be coming again.

Came here with a Vietnamese friend of mine, both our first time there, it was given a high rating on SN&R but we were both disappointed with everything. There were lots people there which is a good sign, but we were sat next to a cleaning supply cart for a few minutes which smelled pretty bad. Someone took it away and it got better after a while and when we thought we would get a menu, we were told they only had 2 choices chicken or beef. Food came out pretty quick, and the add in also, but there was only 1 wedge of lime for the both of us, which isn’t enough for the pho, and there was only 1 dipping plate so we got some from another table. Besides the lack of limes, the pho wasn’t horrible but still was missing some flavor, and the broth was pretty cloudy. Over all thou, not impressed and was more pricy than other pho places that were better.

As recommended, had the chicken pho 👌 Hit the spot. Can specify white meat, dark meat, or mixed. Great broth/flavor.

If you planning on eating here something you should know beside no parking space. Even though it’s not a very big restaurant- be prepared to wait a long time for your food. And after you ordered people who came after you get their food before you - tough luck. In comparison with alot of the same dishes I’ve ate in other restaurants- this restaurant not that great. Pho soup are oily! And smaller compared to others. If you are there for pho- not that good. If you are a pho lover you know the distinctive taste - this restaurant don’t come close to it.

ain't no way you're stepping in here and expecting good service... don't let the mediocre star ratings deter you from trying or going here! first & foremost the parking sucks because it's in a tiny, old-school plaza but with places that are little holes in the wall like: vietnamese vegetarian food, a mexican market, lollicup/lollibowl, laundromat, salon, pharmacy etc. it's mostly locals & regulars eating here, first you step inside & pick a table, they take your order ASAP because you should know what you want/like, and the hot bowls come out in minutes!! [2024 update: they must be under new management or something because service here is no longer fast, 30+ minute wait for food and that sucks] honestly speaking i love this place - their dark meat chicken pho is where it's at. i'm always returning here because it's delicious, the meat portions are generous, & the prices aren't bougie. if you can't take typical vietnamese service then don't come here 'cause you will get your feelings hurt... but if you can look past all that, then you know to come early because they be running out of chicken! 'tis all!

Never tried this place. So Got here at 915 to wait in car since it stated they opened at 945. Another customer parked next to me went to check the door at 10 since their "open" sign was not lit. Guess he was told they weren't opened yet and he went back to his car. Waited long enough. Didn't want to waste any more time so drove over to TK where we should've initially gone. Would give 0 stars but couldn't.

Chicken pho 5/5 Apparently, this is the place to go to for chicken pho in Sacramento. It did not disappoint. Pretty busy when we came for lunch. This cute little grandpa took our order. They don't give you menus, so you have to know what you want when they come take your order. We waited about 30 minutes for our Pho to come out, this seems to be pretty consistent from previous reviews. So if you have little ones, bring something to entertain them. I didn't get to take any pictures because I started to eat my food right away whenever I came out. Lol.

Hearty, Delicious & Scrumptious Chicken Pho! SITREP Thanks to awesome friend & yelper Alex T. (aka SacFoodFromAbove on social medias) we got to check out this yummy pho stop that he had put on our radar. THE SETUP Pardon my ignorance but I had NO IDEA that Pho is considered a *breakfast food*. So when Alex first suggested that Annie, Richard and I join him for a 10am brunch at Pho Anh Dao, I was a bit confused - but NOW it all makes sense! If anything, the restaurant made this reality clear to me by having a 10am start time in which they serve Pho! (Hey, if the *legit* Vietnamese community is doing this, than it must be right!) LE MENU There were so many options to choose from including beef Pho and beef bones to add to your meal. I went with the Large Clear-Noodle Chicken Pho ($13) which was only $1 more than the Small version, but which came in a much larger bowl (I even had half leftover to take home in a to-go soup container). The broth was very favorable to which we could spice up with wasabe and chili sauce. And there were a LOT of chicken pieces! Even Annie, our resident Chinese-cuisine / Asian-cuisine expert was surprised at how much chicken there was! THE LOWDOWN Come check out the delicious Pho!

Best Viet cuisine in sactown! I would recommend Pho Anh Dao. Pho was delicious and the glass noodles were soft. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine indeed.

Best pho in the world. Get the chicken pho. Broth is great already but add the condiments and they bring it to its fullest life.

I love older local spots that survive next to newer more modern choices. Pho Ahn Do is a pho cafeteria. Big place, a bit noisy. There might not be a menu available and you might have to wait a bit. But none of that matters because the Pho is amazing!

Randomly stopped in with my mom for a quick lunch. They only had a handful of items on their menu as they specialize just in pho. The pho broth was so clear and taste so clean with flavor! Did not need to add anything to it. 3 stars because the server could not tell Us what we ordered when our bowls arrived, we ordered 3 bowls, #6, 8 and 11, we asked but she set it down and left. Please note this restaurant is cash only

It's Monday Memorial day holiday and it is crowded and I do understand how difficult it is for the restaurant to handle the orders. However, this restaurant only serves Pho but it took them 45' to get a bowl ready. The employees are not very well customer oriented. I will not come back as the Pho is not that tasty either, it's salty.

I go here at least once every other week since I was a little kid but never reviewed this restaurant. It's been around forever. If you're in the mood for Vietnamese chicken soup (pho ga), this is one of the go to spots for it.

Decided to give this play a try since it came so highly recommended by locals. They take your order before you're even seated, which makes you think your food will come out right away. WRONG! For such a limited menu - beef pho or chicken pho, they sure take a long time getting food out to customers. Service was even worse. Waited over 40 minutes for 2 bowls of combination pho and 2 iced coffees. Not once did someone come check on us and let us know that they were working on our order. Flagged down a server and asked him 2 times where our order was and u brushed us off saying he was going to check on it but he never did. Finally after 40 min, we got our iced coffees which were not made with real brewed coffee, it was powdered coffee and disgusting. Still no pho, so we went up to the counter and asked to pay for our coffee and cancel our order. Only then did they decide to bring our food out. Pho was not even good and barely came with anything. First and last time there.

I'm not waiting 1 hour for a bowl of pho. Doesn't take rocket science to bring out a bowl in 10 minutes.

You need to update your business hours. Online says closed at 6 pm but actually at 3 , caused inconveniences.

Came here on a late weekend afternoon with my wife. The only options available were beef or chicken pho with different variations of the add-ons. We tried to order the Pho Dac Biet (Combination Pho), however by the time we got there, most of the ingredients were out of stock. The only add-ons available were the Rare steak, tripe and beef ball which I decided to get. The pho overall was good but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Service was ok but I feel like it could have been better. Perhaps it was the difference in language and culture? Parking was a bit difficult as the lot is small but managed to find one near the front. I would be willing to give this place another chance. Recommend coming earlier in the day to experience the food with all the ingredients available. Note: This location is CASH only.

Best beef and chicken pho in Sacramento- but you're going to be sacrificing ambiance for taste. 9/10 Food: They only have two things on the menu, beef and chicken pho. Today I had the beef one but the chicken is just as good. They give you lots of meat and it's super tender. Minus 1 pts because the chicken pho does not come with a ginger dipping sauce that is typical with this dish. I've eaten at many Viet restaurants and can say this place is A-rated if you're looking for a classic hot bowl of pho. 3/10 Ambiance: This is a hole-in-the-wall type restaurant so don't come expecting the best service or atmosphere. This place is also Cash Only, and you must go up to the register to pay for your meal. The tables are also left sopping wet after they cleaned it when I sat down, hence my rating.

Sign says they're open at 9:40. My family got here at 10:20 and the place wasn't opened yet. They were finally opened close to 10:30. Got in, seated and ordered. Waited pretty long but it has been the new normal ever since they changed owner. My daughter started complaining where our soup is and I kept telling her that it's coming. But as I was looking around the table behind us that came much later than us was already eating. And the big tables was getting their food as well and I know they came much later than us too. Went to the server who took our order and asked him where is our food. Everyone's eating already and we're still waiting. He went to the back to check and he said it will be right out. Waited another good 10 mins and no food... server came back and confirmed our order and we said yes we ordered those chicken phos. He went back to the back. Another 5 mins... somebody came from the back and asked us again if we ordered these items on the receipt and I said yes. He then proceeded to say it came out already. I then snapped and asked him then where is it? Our table is clean and so I think you guys dropped it off to the wrong table. He walked away. Food came in 5 mins later, which at this point it was at 11:36.. somebody obviously read the table number wrong and gave the wrong table our order and to gas light saying that you guys dropped it off to us already was crazy.

Good food. However service is lacking a lot. The person at the register can try their hardest, but the wait staff, the long cook times etc makes it impossible to get any good service at all. Literally walked in for a take out order, and I witnessed the most horrendous customer service from an older short haired man who did not look Vietnamese. Slow to make an order, slow to get items (one item in his hand every time and it's small), won't give you a proper order, does some chicken scratch like it's authentic Cantonese (fake writing - only two menu options), and will be genuinely rude to people if they try to make small talk. I watched this poor girl, sit down and try to make small talk and got the rudest response from everyone. She was asking for a waitress that worked there. Then the old dude literally responds that she doesn't work there cause they don't need her. Only thing this place has going for it is good food. Bad parking space, people will threaten the safety of your vehicle for parking in the wrong spot, 3 noodle places literally 10 feet away from each other, and people don't look where they are driving or walking. It's almost as if they make you wait to make it appear that their food is good. There are better places, but this place sold to someone else. How do I know this? The bowls used to have a yellow stain from their soup. It's no longer there. The original taste is gone, and you get this Hawaiian looking dude and cook now in the background. Still good isn't bad. Just not as good as before, or to compete for long. Oh and my take out order was wrong. Two items (chicken or beef), hard to mess it up. But again, the fake old guy writing chicken scratches... not to mention he noticed me waiting and did some odd tinder swipe to me when he noticed I was waiting for a long time. Even stared n put his face close to mine. All I did was ask for dark chicken meat, which appears is not an option as he said mixed and that was the end. They can't deviate or afford to change the menu. This is because the original owner / cook is not there. If you can walk there, bike there, have the time and patience of a saint, it's worth it. Not worth it when you risk your car, your insurance rates, and your genuine sanity for a bowl of over priced noodles. I can get better driving 5 minutes down the road. Without all the problems mentioned.

If you want good chicken pho then this is the place to go to. The service has gotten a lot better as well as the wait time.

I've been to this pho place many times because i like the pho's soup here. It's delicious and the portion is good. However the service is really bad. The server is not friendly. The environment is not that clean. However, pho here attracts me so i have been coming back. But today, they refused to switch me another bone that i ordered to another one with meat on. The one i got has only tendon on it. And on my pho, there's like 5 pieces of raw beef and one tinny finger-like tendon. They had not been this stingy but everything has been changed currently. Really disappointed about the portions and service. Not coming back and not recommended.

10/21/23 I am adding this to see if anyone else would be updating to see if the price stays the same and for how long before they keep changing it. It's been awhile since I ate here and it used to be great. Now it's so so and sometimes they over charge you for little things not even added or asked Today I paid for 2 large chicken pho Total @$29.36 for both with taxes. I'm assuming each is roughly $14.00?! Give or take. Sure miss those days when it was under $10 and or $11.75?!

They never open on time, third time I'm here on a day they should be open, it's 10 am and there's no one on site. Such poor business practices. Sad cause they could really do so much better.

It's a hole in the wall , but hole in the wall businesses are always good so I can't complain . food was good , service was quick , food was priced well . I'd come back

I've been going here since they were down the street near the old My-Le's Beauty College, 99 Cents Only Store, dd's DISCOUNTS, and Parkwest Casino Lotus. The original broth was the best. They changed the recipe throughout the years. Technically, they have the second best phở bò in town. I don't know how it's now, but what I didn't like was it's cash only and been like that for awhile. The last time I went here was on a Monday, and they had a sign on the window that said they were closed until Tuesday because of a health violation. I haven't been back ever since.

The chicken noodle soup was tasty but didn't like how their menu was limited to 6 options. When I went I was only able to get white meat and I wanted a mix and my wife wanted just dark. No gizzards or hearts and no fresh noodles. The service was straight trash, I do not recommend if you have expectations or standards. Leave that at the door

BRING CASH! They don't have an ATM machine inside. I didn't see any sign saying cash only when you walk in, which we would've appreciated since we rarely carry cash. The chicken pho was very good. Beef pho was decent. Everyone likes their pho broth a certain way, unfortunately this just wasn't a favorite of ours. Worth a try though!

This place is on point. Every single time. You eat here for pho from now on. I don't even bother to try any other places at this point.

The pho is probably one of the best in Sac. The only downsides were that service was slow and it took over 30 min to get our pho (which is surprising since I'm sure the broth is already made and they just need to add noodles). They also didn't give us menus when we sat down and the place is swarming with flies. But aside from all that, food is excellent.

Honestly from all my experiences thus far trying out pho places in Sacramento, this has to be one of the best pho regarding to flavor and price! Friendly staff. Not the nicest newest looking interior but we all know good pho hardly ever come from that! Lmao Only downfall is that this place takes only cash! Make sure you got some cash on you!

Best pho in Sacramento! I have been here plenty of times and have not yet been disappointed. I think I am due for a review. Things have changed from the first time I have been here to recently. The broth is so tasty and rich. The flavor is so authentic that you know that the broth has been boil for hours. We had their traditional dark chicken meat pho. I preferred the texture of the dark meat over the white meat. We also had the beef pho with a side of beef bone. I love the side of bone especially with the marrow! Everything about their pho was on point! Everything has improved for the better since the first time we done here. Highly recommended the pho here!!

If you want to wait 45 minutes for a bowl of noodles, this is your place. This place is worn down .

Cash only. Walk in, seat yourself, and know what you want to order. Can't go wrong with the pho with chicken. Their chili oil go crazy. Everyone tripping about the bad service here ain't ever been an authentic Asian restaurant lol. If you need anything, wave a server over. And go up to the register to pay.

This restaurant is under new management and it's gotten worse. Waited an hour for two bowls of pho because 35 people were waiting as well. It seems like new management seen this opportunity as a cash grab because of loyal customers in the past. However, if no change is made in wait time I will no longer be a customer. Not good for hangovers or big families wanting to experience their noodles. If you get grossed out by cleanliness, don't come here because they won't pass inspection.

My favorite pho place in town, especially for pho ga (chicken pho). Delicious broth, super spicy sauce, and the option for all white meat or a mix of white and dark.

The owner lady is so lazy. U will Waite one hour or more to get your food. All she do is collect money at the register. She will NOT help her employees no matter of how busy it is. She walks around with her heels doing shit.

One of those places where its comfort and satisfaction. . I love and only get their chicken pho, known as pho ga but with vermicelli noodles. . How I order is one large chicken pho and clear noodle. . I love how the broth is clear and taste savory like chicken broth. The clear noodles such as vermicelli noodles goes and pairs so well with the broth. It is an amazing bowl of goodness. . I don't care for the environment or decor and ambiance. I come strictly for the bowl of chicken pho. . Yes there were times where the wait can be long but so worth it. And they are open during pandemic which I am glad and I love supporting and coming here especially during cold weather. This place is a gem and pure authentic. If you know you know. I have not ever experienced the worse service ever because we did not get seated right away when there was so many open seats and we also sat there waiting for at least 10 minutes before they took our orders. Took our orders and never received our food but yet a group of people came in way after we ordered our food but yet they received their food instead of ours and we only ordered two bowls of noodles but the other table had 6-7 people. I wouldn't recommend going on Sunday's. No acknowledgements from them

Pho here always takes SO long to come out after you place your order. For those who don't know, they only have chicken and beef pho, and this is a cash only business. I typically get the chicken and everyone else gets beef both are very tasty. Warning, they use a lot of MSG. I mean A LOT, but that's what makes the food that much more tasty! Service is typical, not bad, not great, mediocre. It was barely not even 1pm when we arrived and they already ran out a lot of things, they were out of their combination beef, and only had tripe, meatballs, and round steak for the beef. You have to get here early as they don't have a set close time and will.clpse when sold out. This is definitely one of Sacramento's hidden hole in the wall spots!

Best Pho that you can get in Sacramento! It is a small family owned restaurant that serves one thing, really good pho. The broth is amazing and you can tell they take their time to make it. The herbs and produce they provide are always fresh and taste great in the soup. It is cash only so make sure to bring some, but a large bowl should be less than $12. Great value and great taste. Only place I get pho now.

It is very delicious. The service is ok, they probably need turn on the AC a little more. It was a little hot.

Visited last Saturday afternoon at 2pm. Not too busy. Ambiance is quiet. No music playing but the sound of people eating and chatting was in the background. This is South Sac, so the restaurant itself is a little older and dated. That's a given. No menus, older gentleman came by with a pen and pad to take our order. Water served in the plastic blue cups. Nostalgic! Pho came out quickly! About 5-10 mins. It seems like an average bowl, doesn't stand out as being terrible or amazing. Standard flavors and customer service! Viet coffee took longer to come out (as it should, it is drip coffee). I've been told that this place had the best bowl of pho, but I can't comment on whether things may have changed due to COVID-19, management changes or difference in food quality. Not too memorable an experience, I'll probably try other places next time!

The best chicken AND beef pho in all of sac hands down. The broths here are incredibly flavorful and full of deep rich flavor while still maintaining the lightness you want in pho. They add tons of meat to your bowl. I love that their menu is small with only two choices of pho- its their specialty and they know it. You can't go wrong with either! Be sure to come early because they always run out of meat before their normal closing time of 3pm.

My friend was raving about this chicken pho spot in sac so she brought us all there to try. I gotta admit the chicken pho #1 was really good, delicious broth, and they didn't skimp on the chicken pieces either. However, It's def a simple spot, not a place where you would go to for the ambiance and cash only!

Still the best pho in the area. No doubt about it. If anyone has a better suggestion I'd like to know. If your suggestion is not better, I will call you out. If it is better, I will proclaim it as the best. So I challenge you to find better. But for now, pho anh dao is unphogettable.

so good--- so my uncle took me, its his favorite. i was feeling down, so soup was best idea for lunch. I had the pho with just steak. he got chicken i think. i guess its help yourself to hot tea n H2o? i'm not sure. I loved it because they have alllllll of the toppings-- basil, soybeans, cilantro/parsley?, fried onions, housin sauce, hot chilli oil and siracha and all of em, some places don't have everything you need/want. the broth was pretty good on its own, souper hot, so didn't have to add too much. My uncle was saying the guys next door fawking or whatever across the way, make sure i never mistake the two spots cause i was saying i may have to come back. they're not the same at all. supposedly, idk who, but some places actually water down their broth and they're just not as high quality as Pho Anh Dao. anyway been some time since my last time having pho soup, but maybe I will go again soon now that i found a good spot. thank you.

Best Pho in town. I've been craving this type of broth ever since coming back from Vietnam and only found it here. They give you a lot of meat and noodles so I always have to ask for an even smaller portion haha Really reminds me of Vietnam. Quick and easy breakfast to start the day!

Cash only. No sign at the door stating cash only. You'll see it when you finish eating and it's a paper written taped to the register. If you don't have cash they'll ask for Venmo or zelle and they'll charge you a fee to use it under "send to friend" and not business to avoid taxes. They'll charge you a fee when Venmo or Zelle don't even charge them a fee to send to "friend".

According to my bf. The day we came was an off day for this location. But in my opinion, I thought that the soup was very bland and oily and the chicken was super dry. One point they had going for then was the high portions of chicken they gave, however dry. I guess I'm willing to give this a try if both my bf and friend are claiming that the day I can was an off day, but it isn't a high priority for me to revisit for several reasons: - no options to choose from - neighborhood area looks sketchy. They even nailed a huge piece of wood instead of replacing the glass - inconsistent quality of food I guess this review will be updated at some point in the future whenever I run out of food options and return here. Keep your eyes peeled to see if my second round here is the same or improves.
