"Along the same highway as Ba Mien in New Orleans is the locally owned Pho Bang, flying under the radar but not to be overlooked. Try the cold bun salad and ultra meaty house pho featuring tripe, flank, brisket, ‘navel’, and tendon. The family also has locations in Harvey, Metairie, New Orleans East, and Kenner." - Beth D'Addono, Eater Staff

AMAZING PHO!!!! Even though I’ve moved away from New Orleans, I always make it a point to come back and visit this place. I always order the tofu pho with beef broth and load it up with chili oil. Over the past five years, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been here. Unfortunately, I’ve never been able to find anything like it in any other state I’ve visited... :( HIGHLY recommend!!!

Decided to try this Pho Bang location, because of what happened with the other. This place was fairly decent. Calm pace environment maybe for nice quick stop lunch or a study break. Our server was so nice and the food hit the same as always. Highly recommend the lychee bubble tea with coconut jellies and the brisket spring rolls with the fish sauce. It was all terribly delicious.

My experience at Phở Bang Restaurant today was distasteful and disappointing. I arrived to pick up a DoorDash order and was completely ignored upon entering. I stood at the counter directly in front of an older female staff member (who appeared to be a grandmother), and she didn’t acknowledge me—not even a greeting. Instead, she began chatting in Vietnamese with another employee, disregarding my presence entirely. When I politely showed her the order on my phone, she barely looked and snapped, "Not ready yet," with a rude tone and no eye contact. I stepped outside and returned after about 10 minutes. Again, no communication, no update, no eye contact—just more dismissiveness. When I asked kindly for a status update, she swatted her hand at me like I was a nuisance and repeated, "Not ready yet!" As a delivery driver, I understand things get busy. But basic courtesy and respect should still apply. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but demeaning. What’s most troubling is that I noticed her warm and friendly demeanor with white customers, while I—a young Black woman—was met with hostility and indifference. I truly hope this wasn’t racially motivated, but the pattern is hard to ignore, especially after reading other reviews describing similar experiences. To other Black customers: be aware. This establishment may accept your money, but it does not appear to value your presence.

The best pho I’ve ever had. Best summer rolls I’ve ever had too (seasoned beef). Never been to a place that offers tripe & tendons in the pho. Tried a salty lemonade for the first time. Authentic Vietnamese food, as it says on the sign. Super delicious. Can’t wait to come back.

Google
amazing authentic pho; some of the best ive ever had! buttery raw beef melts in your mouth. $14 for a large bag of vegs, a quart of broth, and a quart of noodles + meat. unmatched value:unit price really enjoyed the light, slightly savory viet yogurt, the milk w egg beverage, and egg rolls as well!

Google
Visited from NC. Easily one of the best pho experiences I've ever had. I ordered the beef shank, tendon, and carrot pho. Well seasoned, only wanted to add lime juice and a lil jalapeno. Service was also five star, restaurant has plenty of space to sit. I will be back!

Google
My friend had the mixed Pho, and it was very good. I had the vermicelli bowl and it was ok. The way it was described was that you get 4 egg rolls + the meat (grilled por), but I only got 1 egg roll sliced into pcs. It was good. The shrimp spring rolls were good too.

Google
Ordered take : the lemon grass chicken, white rice and veggies. I rate it an 8/10. My egg rolls were fried too hard but good meal

Yelp
I grew up coming to this restaurant and it's one of those places that are quick bites. The service is fast but make sure you order everything you need at once, because they won't come back to check on you. Their egg rolls are crispier than other places because they use a different wrap, and the pho is good. Pro tip: get the tai on the side and dunk it into your broth after you squeeze lime on it. There are a lot of tables, and it looks like a typical Vietnamese restaurant.

Yelp
Hands down the best pho and bon bue hue ever so savory!! I don't want any other place now too afraid I'll be let down

Lacey D.

Yelp
This is my favorite Pho Bang location. The service is usually good, and the food always tastes hot and fresh. They don't have the pork patty like the other location, they do actual pork pieces that are grilled perfectly. The broth has a rich flavor and good balance. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

Yelp
Straight forward menu with Vietnamese staples Cha gio - egg rolls w spring roll wrapper Pho dac biet Crab Rangoon Cafe sua da Vermicelli bowl

Yelp
Great broth. Gave us so much meat in the bowl we could not even finish. We both ordered size smalls. Absolutely excellent and worth the trip

Jimin G.

Yelp
Food is amazing always. It stays the same that is why I love going to this place. The Vietnamese tacos and egg rolls, and the pho are delicious and hit the spot. The portions are perfect. I love this place so much

Sana A.

Yelp
When we bought a $7 pho we did not except it to be big a big bowl, the food was so perfect, the Service was amazing 10/10 it was my 1st time trying Vietnamese food and I couldn't explain how good the food was, it was welcoming , felt comfortable and felt like home. The area was so amazing I love the planting , and we were also couldn't eat pork, they had everything cooked separately so we didn't have to worry about eating soup that was cooked with the pork, I also am allergic to seafood and they were very careful with what they were giving us they really care about their customers I 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Great food, fast and friendly service!! I love coming to this location whenever I'm at the Westbank.

Yelp
There are several great vietnamese restaurants on the Westbank, but I had a hard time finding one open on a Sunday. Drove around a bit and saw this little gem open on a side street right off of Westbank Expressway. I ordered take out..chicken pho and shrimp rolls. The pho was for my cousin so I didnt get pics but she reported back that it was delish! My rolls were good but a bit hard to eat. The wrapper was ripped so everyhting kept falling out as I ate it. The peanut dipping sauce was tasty..i could have eaten it with a spoon..but I resisted. Staff was very friendly, and I look forward to going back and dining in. Everyone in there was eating pho so that must be a winner!

Karemah X.

Yelp
The food was so delicious, we got 2 of the #10s and also a #33, crab Rangoon and also so chicken taco appetizer. Everything came out pretty fast and the food was big portions. The waitress was nice and the restaurant was quiet and not to busy. I surprise to go see the amount of pho and meat because I went to another place and paid the same price and they literally gave me a portion for a child. The broth was so tasty and the beef was tender. The lemongrass chicken was really delicious and they gave a small amount of broth to go with that also. The crab Rangoon was the best that I ever had. The price was cheap compared to all the food that we had.

Yelp
So this place used to be my go to place to eat if you want a good bowl of Pho. I haven't been here for over a year and I decided to take my mom to come eat lunch around noon right after I took her to get her eyebrows microbladed. Man, this place downgraded bad. I saw bugs around the windows, the floor had wet spots, etc. I even brought my 9 month old baby to eat some pho. The soup wasn't even hot when it came out. I was surprised I didn't have to blow it for my son to eat. So both my mother and I ordered the small bowl of pho combination with meatballs. I got soda chanh and my mother had unsweetened tea for drink. How the hell when I went to go pay for our meal at the counter, it was $40? I asked the lady at the cashier, how is it $20 each for a small bowl of pho with drink? That price is ridiculous. She explains because the meatballs is expensive. I'm thinking to myself, man a big bag of frozen pho Meatballs cost $30. The meatballs they served me inside my pho soup was about 2 small pieces cut in halves. There's no way it was worth that much money. Please deter from this pho establishment. It used to be so much better dining here. They raised the price without giving putting it on the menu book. I originally saw the pho price small bowl for $7.50. So adding the meatballs will maybe cost an extra $3. Rip-off! The lady didn't even want to give me a receipt. Never eat here again. I'll take my money elsewhere.

Paula S.

Yelp
When I walked in, no one greeted me. I went to pick up a phone order for my daughter. When I got to the counter, the older lady turned around, looked at me, frowned, then turned back around and continued doing what she was doing. The young boy who was working with her told her something in Vietnamese, then laughed. He also did not greet me. FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE LASTING ONES! I called my daughter to let her know and told her that if it wasn't for the fact that it was her order, I would have turned around and left. There's more to say, but I don't want to dwell on the Negativity. I WILL NOT RETURN! They were rude.

Leah V.

Yelp
Totally worth the drive out to the westbank. We ordered takeout and the portions were huge and everything was delicous! Some of the most flavorful bun Bo hue I have ever had!! I cant wait to come back for dine in.

Corrina P.

Yelp
I eat here at least twice a month. I would eat it every day if i could! Try the eggroll wrapped in spring roll with a taro bubble tea. You won't be mad.

Jessica T.

Yelp
I've been eating at Pho Bang since I was a young child. They have moved locations over the years and opened several new restaurants but the same delicious pho broth has always remained consistent throughout the decades. I've eaten nearly everything on the menu and have no complaints. The food is always ready quickly, inexpensive, good and very filling. My usual order these days is the pho dau hu chien (pho with fried tofu) or pho chay (vegetarian pho). I'm not a vegetarian but I just really like their tofu pho with the veggies. Bonus that you can also customize the broth and choose between chicken, beef or vegetable broth. The small size is more than enough for me but they offer a large size as well.

Ethan T.

Yelp
I love it hoenstly i love great customer service, great food! Get pho tai bo vien if your into pho it's definitely a banger there!!

Wendy C.

Yelp
I didn't realize there were multiple locations of this restaurant! The food is definitely very dependable and tasty. I ordered the iced coffee with condensed milk, egg rolls, pho, and the rice plate with pork chop and egg cake... (Yes, it was all for myself... No, I didn't finish. Love leftovers!) I wouldn't say I was "wow-ed" but my Viet craving was definitely satisfied. I love that they give you the actual drip press contraption and a cup of ice for the coffee. As a result, the iced coffee was strong and tasty, exactly the way I like. The egg rolls were delicious with a pretty bomb filling. Their fish sauce that day was a little too diluted for my taste though. I would say their pho broth is nice and clean but didn't feel deep enough in flavor. I like that there wasn't TOO much going on though, ya know? Sometimes they really add all sorts of things and it becomes a musky broth. Anyways, I would definitely come back for the pho if I ever have a craving. The rice plate was pretty standard. I love egg cake (steamed egg) so I'm happy they serve that here. You never know with Viet places in the South!

David N.

Yelp
Pretty good spot for Vietnamese food. Got the pho, egg rolls, and taro boba. All were excellent. Staff friendly and did a good job with all the social distancing and masks. Would recommend!

Dieu N.

Yelp
I rarely eat pho at restaurants, so my go to is always the com suon (pork chop rice plate) or the com ga nuong xa (lemongrass chicken and rice). The portions are huge for the rice plates! I always have half leftover to take to go. I have had the pho on multiple occasions and the broth is flavorful and they don't skim out on the meat. Service is fast and food is always piping hot.

Pam B.

Yelp
The Pho was on point! A little confusion about having. Prepaid order but we're confused that I had already paid through Apple Pay

Emily M.

Yelp
First time here to celebrate the new year (Lunar New Year that is...) so we stopped in for a snack before the tiger dancing and firecrackers started. I ordered light so I'm leaving out a star for when I have a chance to try more in the future. I ordered the Banh Bao appetizer with pork and my friend had the pho. Both were very good and served with incredible hospitality. My pronunciation when ordering the salty lemonade was praised which made me feel really good, and very welcome. Everyone was incredibly friendly and hospitable so I would definitely return to try more authentic Vietnamese!

Marissa T.

Yelp
Visiting my sister and I wanted a spicy soup after a night of fun. She told me, "I know exactly where to take you!" The restaurant is nice and clean and service was a bit slow as they tended to other things like ToGo orders and refilling sauces. We had the fried egg rolls to start so yummy especially when you wrap them up with lettuce! As for my entree I ordered the bun bo hue and the flavor was great! No extra spice needed, but I was sad when they did have the cabbage to add to my dish.

Marshall A.

Yelp
No other pho is needed. I've been to(and returned) to every pho spot in the New Orleans area, and always gravitate towards this one. And the soft tendon is always on point. "Good soup"

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Pho broth is VERY flavorful. They provide plenty of basil, sprouts, lime & pepper. Serving of meat is generous - I usually ask for an extra side of rare beef & I didn't have to!

Aja J.

Yelp
Ordered takeout for lunch while I was in between meetings. They were so quick and I was able to make my meeting with no problem. I got the shrimp pho with boiled seafood. It was perfect! So much broth and they weren't stingy on the noodles or shrimp; even for a takeout order. And all the other toppings were packaged separately. It was delicious and just what I wanted. I'll be going back again. :)

Connie K.

Yelp
Best Pho I have ever had. The spice was just right for me. Not to spicy not to mild. Good portion of round and brisket. Thoroughly enjoyed the grilled pork spring roll and sauce. Super fresh and very yummy. Staff was friendly and helpful as I was trying to figure out what to order. I will definitely be back!

Haiqiao J.

Yelp
Decided to try this as an "alternate" pho bang. Have been to the one in Kenner and the one on Manhattan on the West Bank (the usually choice). The menu here is exactly like the one on Manhattan. The service is also fast and friendly. We got the large #9 (combination pho) and #33 lemongrass chicken. Got the exact same thing as the order on Manhattan because we really like those dishes and also to have a baseline for comparison. Everything tastes excellent. It is very much the same as the Manhattan location, to a surprising degree. Only people that eat there very regularly would be able to tell much difference. Overall, would gladly come back

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Poor customer service. The employees refuse to take any responsibilities for their mistake. I ordered through Waitr and they missed a whole order of my rice. When I called, they said that I have to come pick up my rice dish- no apologies, no sympathy. If I was able to do takeout, I wouldn't have ordered through Waitr for delivery in the first place. So I asked if they could send it out again through Waitr and the lady flat out said no and that she doesn't want to pay the delivery fee. They could accommodate my request, but they refused to, so that says a lot about how much they care for their customers.

Tyler Y.

Yelp
Great pho and spring rolls! The broth is perfectly balanced between sweet and spicy with ample noodles and the cuts of beef that you want. I'm a brisket and flank kind of guy and they come out perfectly tender and flavorful. The spring rolls are stuffed to the gills and have a slightly spiced peanut sauce to wash them down with.

Leslie L.

Yelp
When I was growing up Pho Bang was the place to go right after church on Sunday. It's like Vietnamese brunch! Many years later, I am still going to Pho Bang and there are a few locations throughout the city. Two are located on the Westbank, one in the East on Chef Menteur Hwy, and one is located in Kenner on Veterans Memorial Blvd. This particular location was known for really poor service years ago, but it has improved dramatically! I love our waitress there! The beef broth is authentic and flavorful and the meat is fairly lean. You can customize your bowl with different cuts of meat, but my favorite is the Pho Chin Nam. It's simple and it's just what I always order. The BBQ pork spring roll is a great appetizer as well! There are combination rice and noodle dishes that are offered if you're not craving a hot bowl of soup especially in this New Orleans weather. My favorite non-pho dish is the Com Bi Thit Heo Nuong (aka Marinated grilled BBQ Pork on top of rice dressed with Tomato, Vietnamese pickles, and Lettuce). If you're looking for a legit and authentic bowl of pho and Vietnamese food, this is where it's at! What to LOVE: legit pho, hard to find with pho restaurants popping up on every corner What's NOT good: Bun Bo Hue, smaller portions

Elly R.

Yelp
I don't write reviews very often but Woahhh this is by far the best Pho I've ever had. The Broth was so flavorful, the meat was so fresh. I got the Pho Tai Chin and the meat cooks so well in the soup. They gave plenty of the fresh veggie sides. I took mine to go. I'm not even done with my soup and I already want to go back tomorrow for more. Also service was quick.

Ellie D.

Yelp
Ordered Pho Bang from DoorDash today for the first time based on the recommendation from a friend. Got the beef pho with eye of round and lean brisket and the char broiled pork and rice dish as well as tofu spring rolls. Everything was great but the pho was particularly incredible. It was packaged so carefully for delivery, came with tons of sprouts, basil, jalapeños, hoisin and another delish spicy sauce. Tons of beef that was so flavorful. It was a huge portion for a "small" size pho. My husband also loved the pork. The spring rolls with tofu were very tasty. I was a little disappointed that they came with a fish sauce dressing instead of peanut sauce. Definitely want to go back when the restaurants open up again!

Denise O.

Yelp
Feeling ill today so I picked up some chicken pho to go. It did not disappoint. I ordered a large and really once I put in all in a huge bowl at home it was enough for two. I don't think this is the best pho in the city, but it meets your need if you're craving pho. Feeling better (enough to write this review). I've been here several times and the staff are ALWAYS friendly. Service trumps food for me.

Nancy Z.

Yelp
Came across a tourist who suggested this Restaurant to me while waiting for our order at the supermarket. Pho Bang did have a "bang" effect! The place was clean, service was fast, and ambience was cozy; therefore giving this restaurant a big BANG! The menu was simple with Pho, noodles and rice. A small portion of simple appetizers and a drink portion. They do have bubble tea made with powder flavored tea. The avocado was the only bubble tea made with real fruits. The Pho was outstanding and the large portion was very plentiful! They did not skimp out on the noodles. I loved that fact that all the prices were the same. They did ask if I wanted meatball and didn't disclose an extra $2 extra fee.... Overall, the pho tasted very authentic, had great flavoring and was very plentiful giving it a 10 + rating. The noodle with pork and noodles was good but I don't like warm noodles. I would prefer room temp noodles in my Bun Thit Ngoung. I would would give that dish a 7. The egg rolls in the dish made the dish. It was crisp and delicious in the bowl. The bowl had the perfect amount of pickled dikon and carrot. If you like Viet food and want simplicity, this is the place to go and you won't be dissappointed.

Anh N.

Yelp
Hi. I don't know owner read the comment or not. But I came in Monday to eat and when I check out at register. The worker who checked me out asked me if I tip when I pay by credit. They never asked me if everything is ok or how the food, only asked me if I tip or not. This is impolite to ask. I just want to let you know that. I don't want that happened again to somebody else.

Cajun R.

Yelp
The food is good but the service is lacking. I understand the worker shortage due to covid, but you can't even get a drink refill when dining in. Pre covid there were only two people working the front of the house as is the case currently, certainly not enough if they wont even look your way for a drink refill. I don't mind refilling my own cup, but their drink station is behind the counter.

Lyle T.

Yelp
Best freaking place on the Westbank for Vermicelli bowl and grilled pork. I don't know how the chef does it. I bring people here multiple times per week just to try the #28. The person cooking the pork is a damn mastermind. You've never had such perfectly grilled swine. The ladies that work in the front are hilarious. They always try to remember our orders when we visit multiple times in a week and I really think they tell each other "white guys all look alike" cause they're definitely confusing us sometimes. Love this place so much. Worth a try. You won't find a better grilled pork dish than here. 5 stars easy.

Edward R.

Yelp
Amazing pho!! I've been looking for a great place in the Westbank. Great food and it was on-time.

Donald F.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. They have a very high tax and high tips. Don't recommend this place.

Zaina G.

Yelp
This was actually on accident my order but I was not disappointed. Food was right on time and super good. I'm usually so picky with my boba tea but they did it perfectly.

Marielle S.

Yelp
This Pho Bang is good. Really good. As much as I liked this one, I really miss the one on Manhattan, but I digress. I went in and got my usual beef brisket and rare flank Pho. It was really good and had a lot of flavor. Honestly, if you read my review for the other Pho Bang, it was pretty much exactly like that. Oh! And I also really love their pork Spring rolls! For whatever reason, this Pho Bang was really packed when I went in and it took a little while for me to be seated. That's not a huge deal, as I wasn't in any kind of major rush. I am hoping that the Pho Bang on Manhattan reopens soon (their sign says that they are TEMPORARILY closed), but in the meantime this one will have to do.

Samantha M.

Yelp
Very rude and unprofessional. A mistake ordering a drink was wrong, and instead of making it right they decided to argue over 2 dollars. Definitely won't be back.

Calvin M.

Yelp
It's not a bad place to eat. The bun bo hue was ok. Not a lot of meat and no blood cake. At $8.50 a bowl, it's ok. The grilled pork chop is ok also. Everything about this place is so so. Pho Hoa is just three blocks down the street. I'd rather go there.

Justin M.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for pho in the westbank! I've been going here since they were on manhattan! The pho is great and it isn't very expensive either. This is pretty much the only place I will get pho from on the westbank!

Kim-Thao H.

Yelp
Best Pho restaurant in NOLA! I can guarantee that! The broth is always soooo flavorful and perfect. I've tried quite a few places in NOLA and nothing can top it. The drinks and desserts here are also quite yummy. The Che Ba Mau is the bombbb! The limade and homemade orange juice are also popular. My usual is the Nhan Nhuc. It's SOO good here! The waiters are also very nice. I used to come here a couple times a week and they knew my order, which is the Pho Tai (noodles and rare beef). Even when busy, the servers deliver your food in a matter of minutes! It's quite impressive. All in all, you MUST try this restaurant if you love Pho. I promise you that you'll come back for more! :D

Vue N.

Yelp
This is where I get my fix every time I'm back in NOLA. It used to be that I would get my fix from Pho Hoa (back in the 80s and 90s), but ever since they re-opened across from Lowe's on Manhattan Blvd. it just wasn't the same anymore. The broth from Pho Bang has more depth and a richer flavor, and a distinctive aroma that can only come from star anise, cinnamon, clove, black cardamom, and ginger. I always get Pho Dac Biet w/ all the fixings (slices of eye round and beef brisket, thinly cut beef tripe, tendons, and meatballs). That's comfort food ANYTIME of the day my friends. The soup comes w/ a plate of veggies (bean sprouts, culantro, slices of jalapeno, and Thai basil). The ONLY two condiments you'll ever need for this bad boy is hoisin sauce and Sriracha (hot chili sauce). Go hard or go home w/ an empty stomach.....enjoy! Oh! ...and don't forget the dessert, Che Ba Mau....absolutely a must!

Jon F.

Yelp
Best pho around!!! Awesome grilled pork spring rolls very unique peanut sauce. The veggies were very fresh. We had vermicelli bowl that was perfect! I have eaten at most vietnamese restaurants and this put all the rest to shame! Way to go! Nothing was short of perfect! We will be long time customers. I don't give 5 stars easily but this was an easy 5 !!!

Edward G.

Yelp
Great pho. The food and service is great. Large menu of items to choose from. Plenty of seating and parking.

Peter N.

Yelp
This place is clean and the staff here is very friendly. When I come here, I normally order only the pho. This is probably my favorite place for pho (other than home, of course). We tried other dishes too, but we most definitely gonna stick with the combination pho.

Amy T.

Yelp
Pho Bang is my go to pho place when I'm craving some pho. Their broth is good and I've yet to be disappointed. However, the portions are small. At other places, you would get a pretty large portion w just a regular sized bowl. My little sister and I ate here the other day and both got the large bowl. My son got the small size. The small and large were barely different but the large did satisfy out hunger. My favorite is the pho dac biet with bo vien (everything with the beef meat balls). Dipping the meat balls w a little bit of hoisin sauce mixed w a bit of satay is mmm mmmm good...
