Delicious all the way around. Everything looked good, tasted great, many options from which to choose, and large portions. Robot bus service was entertaining. Attractive environment and lively atmosphere, especially during a busy lunch hour. Spacious dining area. Lunch hour parking can be a bit congested, but the food is definitely worth that challenge. Already planning future trips to try some of the other things I saw in the menu and on other tables.

When you enter the restaurant, you are immediately welcomed & seated by a smiling employee. Once seated, menus and water are given to you. The food is delicious and served piping hot by a robot. This was obviously the highlight of my grandson's visit😊 We ordered pho, grilled pork with broken rice, fried chicken wings, and a strawberry smoothie. The interior of the restaurant is quite large. Booths on the sides with tables in the middle.. there is a partition with a few more booths on the far wall. All in all, a very good dinner.

Google
Without a doubt the best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. High-quality food, fair prices, friendly staff and good service. The flavors in this food are absolutely incredible everything seems fresh and high-quality. I love this place and highly recommend it to anyone wanting Vietnamese food. I had the pork Banh Mi this time and it was insanely delicious. Juicy, flavorful meat and lots of it, fresh veggies, they even threw in a little bit of pho on the side!! I’ve been here many times, the pho is the best! The fried rice is insanely good!! The spring and egg rolls are amazing and fresh and flavorful. Everything is so good!

We went there for the first time at 6 PM. They didn’t have the sandwich bread, which was strange, so I chose rice instead. Oh my goodness—the meat was completely uncooked, and I couldn’t even cut it. I spoke to the server, and she kindly replaced it with another dish from the menu. However, the replacement took a long time to arrive, so my family had already finished their meals by the time I got mine. The meat in the second dish was better, but the rice was awful—very crunchy and clearly undercooked. They didn’t charge me for the first dish, but the second one was more expensive, and no one told me that in advance. It didn’t feel fair.

The chicken vermicelli I ordered today was delicious, with one small exception: the vermicelli itself was a bit harder than I expected. Perhaps heating the noodles for about 30 seconds before serving could improve the texture. The restaurant’s decor is lovely, and the server was very helpful. I especially appreciated the build-your-own-bowl option—a unique and interesting concept. I’m definitely looking forward to returning to try more dishes on the menu.

Meat pho is really good, sea food pho no my favorite at all, rolls are really nice, sandwiches are okay

Google
Great food, and the service is SUPER cool. They legit have 2 or 3 robot servers. The employees put the food on the robot's shelves and it actually comes to your table. First time I've ever seen a restaurant use this before, it was so cool. Anyways, the service is good and there's plenty of seating here. The pho is great, and the spring rolls are really crunchy. Robots were the highlight of the meal. Keep in mind that around 30 minutes before closing, they will tell customers they cannot dine in and that you can only do takeout.

Google
Amazing service made the delicious food taste even better! The food came out super quick, the Pho was perfect and I wish I got a better picture but it was so good I absolutely DEMOLISHED it!!! Servers and manager were extremely kind, even the robot servers are awesome!

Yelp
Pho has a nice restaurant with a decent sized dining area. If you are slightly bigger or stocky in nature, don't even think about a booth. I tried and couldn't fit in. And I'm not THAT big of a guy. I had the N6. Sliced rare steak, and it's tasty. The broth was good... but I enjoy adding lots of Sriracha for the heat. Overall, the food was good! The service was good also. They were definitely ready to help us and get our orders going. The bar crew was on top of our drinks, even if they were just sodas. Overall a positive experience with good food.

Yelp
No. I order to-go from this place once or twice a month. We've been eating at PCD RB for a decade. Occasionally, I'll call at 8:30 PM to ask if it's still ok to order pho, and it's never a problem. Well, tonight they said it was not a problem like usual. And like usual, the food was ready within 10 minutes. When my partner brought it home, I received a BAG of raw-ish rice noodles! They have always cooked the noodles and placed them in a separate container. Tonight, I have a bag of raw noodles that I get to cook myself. Dude. No. That's...no. We expect the appropriate food to be cooked at the restaurant. Going forward, I guess we gotta check if our to-go noodles are cooked before we leave the restaurant.

Yelp
I was craving a bahn mi so my sister and I stopped in for lunch. The beef was so tender and flavorful. We walked in, got seated and ordered all within 5 minutes. We stopped in around 1 pm in a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't too busy. Two sandwiches with tax and tip was around $30, which is pretty standard right now with inflation. We both enjoyed our lunch very much and will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was fast and the Pho and noodle soup were delicious. They have good beer on tap and I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
Like this local Pho place! The food comes out fast and is consistently good! Everyone here is very friendly and attentive. My hubby and kids love the pho here and the egg rolls. Today I tried the sizzling ribeye with egg.

Ed A.

Yelp
Will not come back in this branch. Food not as good as the Pho Cali a few blocks away. Also, My wife as for a tomato so she can eat it with her broken rice and beef. She didn't get any for a while she followed up. The guy said we don't have tomato. Really? No tomato in their restaurant? My daughter ordered a fired rice and a noodle came . The older guy doesn't want to replace it with the right order but the younger guy said it's ok to replace it. Overall, not coming back here. Stingy service.

Yelp
Pha Ca Dao and Grill: The Pho-ntastic Champion! Listen up, pho enthusiasts, because I've been on a pho journey that's taken me far and wide, and I can confidently say that Pha Ca Dao and Grill is THE pho MVP! I've danced with fancy shmancy pho, swirled my chopsticks in pha-tastic bowls from all corners, but nothing comes close to the heavenly concoction they serve up here. You see, it's not just pho at Pha Ca Dao, it's a symphony of flavors, a masterpiece in a bowl! So, if you're tired of the pho-nomenal pretenders, come here and let your taste buds do the happy dance. This place is pho-real!

Yelp
Answer your darn phone, what the heck!! I thought PCD was closed today because I called 5 times before I walked in. Perhaps they have a new number?? Nope, I stood at the bar calling them and listening to the unattended[hone as I called them. No answer! I called again, then some chuckle head picked the phone up and put it down...baduhh wat??!! I ordered a couple of soups to go, and when I get home I find they forgot a broth!! Grrrr. Pho Ca Dao, tighten up yall. I called another 5 times before I could let someone know that they short changed me soup. 4.5 stars for the flavors, but a finger for the service. Guarantee yourself a nice meal and eat in. No worries at all with dine in. They are super quick, but man, they need some work with take out.

Yelp
Pho Ca Dao is our go-to destination for pho, and we almost always come to this location because of the reliable quality of food. The prices recently went up about $2 for the pho, but we will be coming back because it is still a good deal. Food: - Pork bahn mi 5/5: The meat to price ratio is excellent. The pork is tender with the perfect contrast of sweet/salty flavor. The pickled vegetables add just the right tang. The bread is perfect, with a gently crusty exterior and such a soft fluffy interior. It comes with broth, which had a very rich flavor. - MyPCD pho with fatty brisket 5/5: We usually order the combination pho, but since our favorite meat is the fatty brisket, we decided to go with the myPCD that has only fatty brisket, which is the most tender and flavorful cut of meet. The quantity of meat was generous for the price. The broth was flavorful with a depth of flavor. Definitely will be reordering this one again and again. Service: I think this location has the best service out of all the locations. Everyone is very friendly and efficient. Ambiance: Free lot parking. We only go during dinner time, and it is never crowded.

Yelp
Best Pho in SD. First time visit and this place lived up to all the recommendations form friends and Yelp. Slower than normal service and food delivery but well worth the wait. We arrived just after 2 pm on a Saturday and fortunately arrived after the lunch rush. By the time we left, the restaurant was full with a wait at the door. No issues with parking since it is in a shopping center. You may need to walk a few hundred feet, worse case, but might be worth the walk after a huge bowl of Pho. LOL Customer service was ok. The older gentleman that sat us didn't like my face or something and was ignoring us so it took about 10 minutes to get some water and menus. Once our waitress found us everything was golden. Food was so good! We ordered the N2 Steak and N12 chicken Pho. Meat, broth, everything was perfect. So much meat and tender and amazing. Not much more to say. And the price is good.

Yelp
I'm sad to report this as two stars as I've enjoyed my experience here in past. We arrived on a busy Friday afternoon and ordered the chicken pho, I have no complaints with that. My dad ordered the Vietnamese chicken wings and it was bloody and raw in the middle. We brought this up with our server and he nodded his head. I assumed they would replace it but they gave us a 50% discount on the order. Personally the whole order should of been comped. I also ordered the coconut shrimp fried rice and the rice tasted old. The fried egg tasted two days old. It was like they heated it up and served it the next day. Disappointed with the lack of quality in our two orders. The chicken pho was the saving grace for the two stars. Additionally the service was a bit rude and rushed. Hopefully they will cook their chicken thoroughly and not reuse dishes for the next day. Overall, a subpar experience.

Yelp
Wow. My wife ordered bahn mis to-go. The price seemed higher than normal for a bahn mi. But! We were pleasantly surprised. They put a ton of veggies in the food tray. An abundant amount. AND! They give you a small serving of pho broth. We have never seen this before. I happened to order the beef bahn mi. I also happen to love Italian beef dips. So I thought to myself. This could be like a Vietnamese beef dig. I dipped the beef bahn mi into the pho broth. O. M. G. Game changer. It takes the sandwich to the next level. Highly recommend trying this although it may be unconventional. I happen to drive by this location on my way home along the 15 as I make my way to the 78. We plan to pick up bahn mis, probably on Fridays, for delicious sandos on the weekend or a Friday lunch.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday around 530pm and it was quite busy during a rainy day. Service is a hit and miss here and never consistent. Today was a miss with service. The food was delicious at least but hard to enjoy with inconsistent service.
google avatar

Christi S.

Yelp
Service was...not good at all. Took a while to get seated because no one acknowledged us when we walked in. Food came out okay, it was at best mediocre. I got the pho house special N1(?) and it was a bit plain for my liking. The meat was somewhat generous. Also got the calamari but that also was mediocre, a bit too salty. Now service was probably the worst I've had in all my experiences of dining out. Water never refilled, asked to check out and server has never came by at all. We gave up and had to go to the cashier to pay. Place was not busy at all... My advice is to take the extra time to drive to other Pho Ca Dao locations instead.
google avatar

Yelp
Paid by card. Pho Ca Dao is located in a plaza and offers plaza parking. I went in on a weekday night with a party of 4 and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The servers were really nice though so it seemed ok. They have cool robots here that serve food as well. My party and I waited the 10 minutes to be seated but after being seated we were told they were out of soup broth and would have to wait another 25 minutes. We decided to stay since we already waited and decided to order vermicelli. We ordered the vermicelli with pork, egg rolls, and shrimp and we were all happy with the taste of everything. We also asked for soup broth once it was ready so at least we got the soup we wanted as well. I would recommend this place for the nice service, taste of food, and price for what you pay for. They should let all parties who are waiting know if they are out of soup broth ahead of time though.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but ended up being disappointed. I guess I would say the food wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. Came here and ordered food to go. We got the Chicken pho and the egg rolls. The stock didn't have much flavor to it and the chicken was a bit dry. The egg rolls were okay. They had a nice crispy outside (which is always a plus) and the meat inside had a good flavor to it. On the plus side.....The staff person who took our order (receipt said Victor) was really nice and the food was ready in less than 10 mins. I'm all about second chances so maybe we will try this place again in the near future.
google avatar

Lili T.

Yelp
Stopped by here last night for dinner since it's my friend's favorite pho spot and it was a great Friday night meal! I got the pho tai and my friend recommended we get the chicken wings, I'm so glad we did because they were awesome. Very well seasoned and delicious. The pho here is also pretty good, the meat is super tender and the broth is flavorful. I will probably be back here when I'm craving pho. The service is nice and friendly as well!

Cerder R.

Yelp
Salmon noodle salad is expertly cooked and the lemongrass beef rib eye soup is a personal favorite. This place is consistent and I haven't had anything I didn't like. Tell your friends and family about this place.
google avatar

R K.

Yelp
Update on another visit. Decided to give this place another try. Instant regret. We were sat and waited 10 minutes to order. Another table that came in after had their order taken ahead of us and we had to flag people down to take our order. No apology. Food came out. Not very good quality. No one came by to check in. Bill came before we were done eating. This place is not worth going. Better pho spots around the area.
google avatar

Monika W.

Yelp
I always come here for pho. Service is usually okay but the food is great. Got some pho and the pork spring roll never disappoints!

Debra K.

Yelp
The rice paper spring rolls were ok. I ordered the grilled chicken Pho and was not a fan. Noodles were overcooked. The service was minimal, at the end of my meal , he just walked up and handed the bill without even asking how everything was. Will not be going back.
google avatar

Matt C.

Yelp
50% chance of pho Don't get me wrong here, the food here is actually quite reasonable. The quality, when you get it, is relatively consistent. It is the only thing that has kept me attempting to continue to order from this place consistently over the past three months. But at least half of the times I've tried to order pickup or takeout, the food is missing, incorrect, or not yet ready. There have been times that they have not had food ready at peak busyness for 45 minutes after the pick up time but even on quiet nights, there is literally a 50% chance that you'll be leaving there hungry. I imagine that the dine-in experience is not so atrocious, but after leaving there empty handed after yet another botched order, I'm fed up (or un-fed, as it were).
google avatar

Jeremy L.

Yelp
Pho was cold & we had the worst service. We sat at the Bar?!?!? The Hispanic kid behind the bar/register spent more time on his phone and computer. The robots that deliver the food is lame waste of money + he thinks that's where service stops! Ditching the robots & hiring a person with a personality makes people wanna come back again even if the food is just okay! Now I know why they have so many phone orders....
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
My favorite place for pho and banh mi. Everyone is so nice and the food is consistently excellent. Sema and Pascual were excellent!
google avatar

Jude G.

Yelp
Just alright. We finished off the Tofu, there was another customer that was also wanting something tofu. We ordered the food then took it to my brothers place for our final time seeing them for this trip.
google avatar

Edryl L.

Yelp
PHO EM GEE! This place is good. Pho Ca Dao is a "never fails" kind of restaurant. When you are in the mood for good Vietnamese food, Pho Ca Dao does not disappoint. They also have vegan options such as pho made with vegetable broth and fried rolls with tofu. Their produce also tastes so "phoresh"! They don't have any outdoor seating options based on my experiences. There is plenty of indoor seating options that are well spaced out. Some servers have been nice and friendly and others are just straight and to the point. I really enjoy their robot "staff member" that comes by with your food and also plays music! They don't talk much but they sure can carry a lot! Overall, this Pho Ca Dao is inviting, very delicious and can satisfy your pho cravings.
google avatar

Jorge H.

Yelp
Food was great had the house special. Broth is amazing. Service could be nicer and more friendly. The ambience is not dark because of the great windows. Bathroom was clean.
google avatar

Jennifer E.

Yelp
Went to the Ranch Bernardo location not sure what to order as we were new to Pho and the menu. Our server Savannah was very helpful and explained and suggested the best options. Egg rolls are a must and the noodle salad with shrimp was delicious. We will be back... Thank you Savannah.
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
I would come here a lot and I mean a lot to the point when I would come in they knew my order. Both pre Covid and afterwards. It has been awhile since I've been here cause we just moved out of RB. And this visit made really sad and dissatisfied. Not sure if new ownership and sizing changed for their pho bowls. I ordered a large but they gave me a regular. When I ask the waitress that I got a regular she said each pho size is different depending on the pho you get...and for this small ass pho she said it was the large version of the rare steak one. I was beyond baffled. Why would the size be different based off the type of pho you order...doesn't make sense. To me it was not worth the price.
google avatar

Brad B.

Yelp
Have you ever had pho first thing in the morning while you watch the world wake up a bit? If you haven't, you should... it's one of my absolute favorite things in the world and the Pho Ca Dao locations have always been my fave... all of them. I started going to the Mira Mesa location but this location is now one of my go-tos as it's closest to my mom's house. My typical order is simple: - Shrimp and pork spring rolls, extra peanut sauce - Fried egg rolls, extra lettuce on the side - Chicken pho Do I eat it all? Rarely, but it's affordable and it never hurts to have some tasty leftovers!

Crystal C.

Yelp
Honestly it's the only pho ca dao I go too, the food is always fresh and hot when I eat there and even more hot when they deliver it to you. I love how they are not stingy with the vegetables that go on the pho, service is always good there about the only thing I would ask of them is to be more clean with their bathrooms. Seems like there is a plumbing issue because it always smells horrible, however with that said I keep going back because the food is so delicious.

Yelp
WTF happened to this place :( We have been regulars for years!!! All of the familiar employees are gone. We walked in and the place had four tables seated with majority of the restaurant empty tables. There were 4 people waiting when we arrived and 12 families after us still waiting to be seated and not one person walks over to greet or welcome anyone or let alone seat them. Every about 25 minutes they have sat one family. A few employees went on break or lunch when they saw the rush of the families. Wow this restaurant had 4/28 tables were seated and there is not enough staffing and the employees honestly suck! No service, no etiquette, lazy af. I know they have a lot of takeout orders but Jesus I hope this place figures it out because our experience was one of the worst I've had in my entire 31 year lifetime. I've never seen so many people standing around not wanting to make this business any money!!!!!!! There used to be a young gentleman I think named Carlos that ran this place and staffed the entire restaurant and served it with no problems!!!! I've seen it be a success, I'm not sure what has changed but I hope this restaurant gets a true wake up call. No sense of urgency, acknowledgement, and intentional ignoring of customers. Also the take out orders had people waiting in a huge line for hours!!! Don't call here if you have somewhere to be you can literally make the pho at your house before this restaurant will have it ready. I'm being serious. We were seated after and hour and a half to be told they were out of meat pho exactly what we were here for. Needless to say we left and wasted 1.5 hours we will never get back.
google avatar

Yelp
Use to love coming here... came here a super slow Saturday afternoon. Service was super crappy even though there was no one. Waiter just sat there drying utensils... waited at least 10 minutes. The place was empty so I know they weren't busy. Chicken spring rolls use to be good but these were dry and tasteless. Pho noodles were not cooked enough. When it was time to pay. I kept waiting. Then when I asked the bus boy since no one else was in sight (again place not busy at all), he told me I had to go to the cashier to pay and get a container. Even though I saw them give containers and checks to other tables. WORSE SERVICE I have had in a long long time and I'm really patient and always feel bad especially when place is busy. It just felt like they could care less. Ugh such a bad experience with crappy food. Never coming back.

Viena L.

Yelp
I went here for pho, but I stayed for the service. The dapper young man who served me (I think he said his name was Daniel) was an absolute delight and a treat and a half. The pho was alright, but it is Daniel and his wonderful service that I will coming back to. I was there two days ago, and he still has not left my mind.
google avatar

Lou B.

Yelp
I ordered chicken soup and so disappointed, chicken was dry and chewy, broth was just medium hot and worst of all, the caddiy for spoons, chopsticks were dingy. We were seated fast but server didn't take the order soon, we waited and had to get their attention. The place was not crowded at all. The flavor of their soup is good which is why I come back.
google avatar

Yelena A.

Yelp
Excellent food! We greatly enjoyed it! We got our food under 10 min after we ordered considering it was Friday night and the place was packed with people! Best Thai tea with boba in the area. Will be back next week for more!
google avatar

Zana K.

Yelp
This pho spot is located on the far left corner of the baron markets plaza off the Rancho Bernardo rd exit. The service is friendly and fast. They have cool robots that bring you your food. We got an order of the salt and pepper wings which were a tad dry but the flavors were good especially when combined with the onion and jalapeno. We also ordered rare steak pho and that was also very good. This place will not disappoint they have great pho but its nothing special. The prices are similar to other pho places. I would come back if i was in the area but it wouldnt be my first choice if i was craving pho.
google avatar

Yeeny T.

Yelp
WORST PHO PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I placed an order over the phone at 8:15 and the man taking my order states that they are closing in two minutes. He then proceeds to tell me that he can make my order. It states that they are open 9am-9pm and seating is last served at 8:30pm. I drive to get my pho and he got my order wrong and proceeds to tell me he's going to cancel my order. I asked him over the phone not once but 3 times to repeat my order. Do not waste your money here, please go else where! Service is absolutely terrible.
google avatar

Ricardo M.

Yelp
Soup was good. Egg rolls are tasty. Mint leaves were minty and food smelled good. Also i liked the noodles

Ken L.

Yelp
Love the portion sizes, the selection, the robot waiter, touch less checkout. The meat in the pho was very fresh
google avatar

K C.

Yelp
Service has gone downhill. Waited 20+ minutes for someone to come take our order. Dirty spoons with old grease stains on the back, unfortunately I didn't see it until I was done eating, yuck. Tried to get another spoon, same things. You really have to sort through the stack. A layer of old grease on the hot oil sauce. Sticky tables tops and dirty floor - just a general sense of uncleanliness.

J P.

Yelp
The place sucks. Personnel turnover worse than a strip club. Appears you gotta speak Vietnamese...English didn't get me anywhere. Bunch of sour-faced servers and waite staff. Jeff Parkinson

Yelp
Great food and service. Our go-to place around this area. Went around 1pm on a Saturday. Seated right away. Simple menu but has many favorites. Pho broth is delicious. Good portions of veggie and meats. The noodle salad with pork and fried roll is good and refreshing. Had to ask for fish sauce because it didn't come with it. They have cool robot that brings to food to table for staff. Iced coffee comes with gravity brewer and condensed milk. Super good and strong. Love the quick check out on handheld.

Yelp
This is an oldie, but goodie for me as one of my friends took me here some years ago. Mira Mesa location . I visited the Rancho Bernardo location and received terrible service here. The food is delicious I cannot deny that however if you want consumers to revisit your restaurant, you make them feel welcome and right at home for the time being that did not happen here. There was a young lady in charge of the restaurant it seemed, and she did not care about the well-being of the customers. I requested it's a to go plate or bowl and was ignored at least three times by her. I treated her with understanding and kindness, and it changed nothing about her unprofessional bad attitude I can't believe that someone would trust her to run their restaurant. It's one thing to have a reputation you have to uphold that.

Mark L.

Yelp
I'm used to bad service for Vietnamese food but this is a different level. They didn't take our order for a long time and when we asked someone to take our order they just pointed to another person. Eventually someone does come but they forgot to take our drink order but never came back to check on us so I had to go to the bar to order. Guess what happens? I ask one person, who puts his hands up and then points to another person. So...no drinks then.
google avatar

Donny P.

Yelp
My brother lives near Rancho Bernardo and this is one of our go-to Vietname Pho noodle places when we are in town and don't have to drive far to get here! Pho soup-has great fresh taste and flavor Egg rolls- nice and freshly made and crunchy Grilled chicken rolls- 2 huge portioned rolls and nice chunks of chicken Grilled Pork rice- nice big chunk of Grilled Pork and lots of juicy flavor and tender meat The prices are very reasonable for what you get and service is fast. Lots of parking outside in the lot.

Yelp
I've been eating at this location of Pho Ca Do for at least 4 years and always enjoy the meals here. I LOVE N16, the Lemongrass Grilled Ribeye Steak Pho and it is my go-to almost 100% of the time we eat here!! Service recently has been a hit or miss - it is rare that you are ever greeted and you are basically ignored while standing in the doorway. But the pho is worth the wait! ;-)

Louis A.

Yelp
I rarely write reviews but decided to go ahead for reasons that will be obvious to the reader. First the good: pleasent waiter and hostess. Cold beer on tap. The cons: beyond forgettable pho, steamed buns and spring rolls. Flavorless broth and meager filling with the steamed buns. Watched an employee wipe off chopsticks that had fallen on the floor and just wipe them off. Lost our appetite and paid the bill. Told the hostess that our meal was awful. She smiled and said thank you. Sad.

Yelp
I ordered the seafood pho. The description was shrimp, fish, and crab. Sounds appetizing to a seafood lover, right? That's what I thought. The serving size was fine, prices good, and service adequate too. So why just 1 star? Read on: The "fish" was some sort of tough/rubbery crispy- coated morsel that tasted like anything BUT fish. And the hard to describe flavor was quite unappealing. But that's not my main complaint. The crab that I mentioned? Well, it wasn't crab. It was that imitation stuff you often see in delis listed as "krab." Worse, it tasted almost nothing like crab, not to mention also very unappealing. In spite of this, and against my better judgement, I finished the entire meal. Now I'm paying the price with a queasy stomach and diarrhea! The sole purpose of a restaurant is to make one's stomach feel better (from hunger pain), not worse.
