Phở Chào

"Mama Dung started out in the northern city of Nam Dinh in 1986, armed with her grandmother's recipe for a light, clean, pure broth. Now, in this shop, diners choose between a three-day beef-bone stock or chicken broth; stand-out dishes include the phở bắp hoa, featuring crunchy medium-rare beef, and Mama Dung's gà tôm mắm sốt (crispy fried chicken). There is also phở tine – a creative Western-style take on phở, served with golden French fries, beef noodle soup and cheese." - Michelin Inspector

Nice pho spot that got a Michelin nod. Their fried chicken is quite good & their home made hot sauce is amazing. Not a huge fan of their pho-tine (Viet-Canadian) dish but it’s a novelty. The owner Mama Dung is so nice.

Good pho with rich, aromatic broth and fresh herbs. Portions are generous and service is fast. Prices are a bit higher than average, but the quality makes up for it. A solid choice if you're craving a comforting bowl of pho in a clean, relaxed setting.

This is one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten in Vietnam, and is definitely my favourite spot for Pho Xao. Here they have the option to have it with crispy noodles, and for me they were absolutely perfect. It is definitely deserving of being on the Michelin guide, unlike many other spots. The flavour of the gravy on the beef is amazing, and the accompanying homemade sauces on the table are delicious. Especially the chilli oil, which is slightly citrusy. I literally scraped the plate clean it was so delicious. This is somewhere I would happily return to, and honestly say if you’re in Ho Chi Minh - then it is a MUST VISIT. As it’s family owned, the vibe is also super friendly. They’re also very proud of what they’ve built which is nice to see. The owner lady even gave us some free cake, which was the lightest fluffiest cake I’ve ever had - so she’s a great cook and baker!! Definitely go here, and try the Pho Xao , it’s a must. Can’t wait to try everything else on the menu

It's Pho restaurant. I knew that it's kinda popular but I didn't know that it has been slelected as Michelin Bib Gourmand. Actually the Pho that they serve was really good. The price was also not expensive as of the place. Also the staff speak English and their service was really good. They didn't advertise as Michelin Bib Gourmand. I really like it.

. **Five-Star Dining Experience at a Charming Vietnamese Pho Restaurant** This restaurant stands out as one of my absolute favorite spots for authentic Vietnamese pho and creative fusion cuisine during my time in Vietnam. Having dined here five times already, I can confidently say that every visit has been exceptional. The pho is not only delicious but also has a clean, well-balanced flavor that keeps me coming back for more. Beyond the pho, I had the pleasure of trying an incredible fusion dish (whose name escapes me) as well as some off-menu specialties—each one was outstanding and a testament to the chef’s skill and creativity. The ambiance is warm and inviting, perfectly complemented by the genuine hospitality of the owners. On one visit, one of the owners joined me for a beer while playing vintage records on an old machine, adding a personal and nostalgic touch to the evening. The other owner, Ma, was incredibly kind, guiding me through the menu with enthusiasm and warmth. What truly made the experience special was how naturally welcoming they were—treating me like family even though I was there with a friend of theirs. With four more days left in my trip, I know I’ll be returning to savor more of their amazing food and wonderful company. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience with heartfelt hospitality and exceptional Vietnamese flavors!

I discovered this place in the Michelin Guide and visited twice during my stay in Saigon. I tried Pho Ga and Hanoi Style Pho and both were very delicious, but the Hanoi Pho stood out more to me! Both broths were flavourful but light at the same time and I like that they have different portion sizes. I also liked their homemade Kombucha. The atmosphere is nice and quiet, especially compared to other Michelin Guide Pho places I visited. The Restaurant is family owned and all the staff is very friendly! They have service tea and you don’t feel rushed while eating there. Because of this I would chose this place over other Pho restaurants.

A small local restaurant which is doing a good job competing against some much bigger and more established food chains around the city. The location of Pho Chao is really quaint, located in a quiet and low key part of Saigon, away from the hectic bustle of the city center, but close enough to reach in a 10 min cab ride from D1. The pho is really good, fresh, clean broth with some good cuts of meat and some subtle spiced flavours. The condiments were also all represented: hot chilli sauce, satay chilli, pickled garlic, fresh lime, fresh chilli, herbs. It is always a sign of quality when the condiments of a pho restaurant are on point. The menu also has a few surprise items such as, fried chicken, fried rice and “pho-tine”. I tried the Pho-Tine, basically: crispy fries with cheese, beef cuts, shredded carrots and sticky beef stock. The dish was very creative, always good to try fusion food, the fries were tasty. Overall, a solid local restaurant punching way above its weight, but is finding its feet in Saigon and is becoming a bit of a celebrity among the ex-pat community. Worth a visit.

A must visit dining experience. My preference is the beef stew with bread and/or the deep fried chicken. Always good service and cheap prices. Never disappointed over the 10 times eating here.

Amazing good, service and everything!! Place is clean and organised. Pho done right, and photine (poutine made with pho soup!) is definitely a must try. Chau was our server, he spoke fluent english, amazing service and even the owner Mdm Tung came out to give us yummy sponge cake! Love this place wayyy more than the typical tourist spots which we tried
