Where to Eat in Oklahoma City | Bon Appétit

"Pho Cuong (3016 N Classen Blvd) is one of those places that we will often go on our day off, either together as a group, with significant others, or with friends. We love a lot of Vietnamese spots in town, but this is our favorite—we’ve been going for more than a decade. It is open seven days a week, family-owned, and always perfect. Some of the dishes we ordered in this spread are the sủi cảo (chicken dumplings); big bowls of pho with eye round steak, lean brisket, fatty brisket, tendon, and tripe; bún chả ha noi (dry noodle bowls with fish sauce, shrimp patty, grilled shrimp, and grilled pork); and fresh spring rolls.”" - ByAlyse Whitney

Google
This place caught our attention as we were driving to a Walmart. We decided to give it a try the next day and glad we did. The pho 🍜 was really good. They offer several bowl sizes, you’ll see the difference between a large and an Extra large (90 oz) in the photos. They have a fairly small dining area, but we didn’t have to wait to be seated and neither did any of the other people that showed up. You have to order at the counter and they bring your food out fairly quickly. I recommend this pho spot to anyone the enjoys a good bowl of soup and rice noodles. 🍜

Google
Amazing, delicious pho! Very impressed that OKC has this level of pho. The broth has great depth of flavor without being overly sweet or oily. And the noodles really absorb the flavor well. The chili oil and meat were also great, and the bean sprout was fresh and crunchy. But yes you do get assigned a table first and look at the menu before ordering and prepaying at the counter. It can be a little confusing but it is also efficient and allows you to leave at your convenience rather than waiting for a busy waiter to come around with the bill.

Google
Warning - This is a small business & locally owned.. you're gonna have to be a little patient if there is a wait. This place has been around for YEAAAARRRSS and their food is the reason why. You can smell it the pho broth being brewed from blocks away. The service is typical is a small asian business but it doesn't take away from the business itself. Look through the menu and go up to the front to order. The staff is really nice. Parking is liimited but it doesn't take away from the business.

Google
Very casual Vietnamese eatery where you order at the counter. It’s different from my usual dining preferences, but the food was tasty, authentic, and a pleasant surprise.

Google
You order at the counter, then seat yourself and food is delivered at the table. It would help to have more visible signs at the entrance stating this, since my party and several others following spent several minutes waiting to be seated. Almost all free tables were unbussed, we had to remove dishes and clean our own table (and chairs) in order to sit down. This is a pity, since the food itself is exceptional. Best phố noodles in OKC IMO. A bit light on the meat, simply order extra if you want the normal amount. We asked for more bean sprouts and got an extra plate for free.

Google
Amazing food, wonderful staff, great atmosphere!! Delicious broths full of flavor! (beef stew on photo). Chicken ramen (not pictured) is out of this world! Highly recommend coming here. Don’t pass on this place! See you again when we come to OKC!

Google
I have nothing to say about the food or the place in itself . I think is awesome. However, the poker who take your orders and the way you have to order must be restructured. First of all, you have to wait to be seated only to get up again from your table to place the order ? What is that ? Secondly, I get why they don’t have waiters but this complicates the ordering process because sometimes you wanna know more about an item but there’s no one to ask. Eve if you walk up to the counter there’s is t much help

Whitney L.

Google
I’ve ordered from here before and unfortunately my experience last night wasn’t the same. I ordered chicken Pho and I had very little chicken (a scoop of my hand) and I called them to let them know my observation. I spoke to an employee even though I asked for a manager and they said I could come back to make the situation right. I sent my cousin so they could put the correct amount and they told her I would have to pay extra 3. Then, when she got back I didn’t have my bag with sriracha and sauce so by this time I’m vivid. We had to go up there 3 times and they wouldn’t rectify the situation. I wasted my time and gas was a horrible experience to say the least. It’s like they didn’t believe me or that I was trying to get more food which wasn’t the case.

Yelp
Best pho They are cash only but have an atm inside We tried the a2 egg rolls / cones with 2 and ate delicious The pho with rare steak and lean brisket was my favorite- small was def enough for me Great flavor and comes out quick and hot This place was super busy when we went and for good reason- amnazing pho Situated inside strip mall so easy parking Plenty of seating inside and traditional artwork on walls Great service

Yelp
Good pho and the place was pretty spacious for looking small. Place was clean and the waiter was nice. You do order at the counter and pay at the counter too. Their food is a big variety and I like that. Some I couldn't pronounce lol but try your best.

Yelp
I am Vietnamese and this isn't flavorful, lacks salt and umami of the beef bones. Food comes out quick and the ambiance is simple and a quick lunch pho. Everyone says it's the best but I moved here from California & Las Vegas and have not found this place to be tasty. Cash only.

Yelp
This is literally the only place I will eat Pho at! Their M8 is sooooo good! A1 egg rolls are divine too!

Yelp
Son and I were visiting my mom in OKC and we had to treat her to some Vietnamese (she is from Vietnam). I read the reviews and decided on this one. It is as authentic as you can find, being from Los Angeles, it was much like the restaurants we have there. The building is brightly colored and cute, food and service was all very good. Mom and son liked their pho and I liked my bun cha gio, which had a very generous serving of egg rolls (flour wrappers). They accept credit cards and you pay at the counter when you're ready, just like I've done at other Vietnamese restaurants in L.A.

Yelp
Adding another review to "The Green House" - got their most loaded pho and it was excellent, plus a lemonade soda which was great. Their pork skin spring rolls are also quite great. Definitely recommended!

Yelp
If you're a pho enthusiast, look no further this place is hands down the best in town. From the moment you step in, you know you're about to experience something special. The real star here is the broth: rich, deep, and perfectly balanced, thanks to the hours spent simmering beef bones to extract that incredible, savory flavor. It's the kind of broth you can't fake, and you can taste the difference in every spoonful. Featured on Andrew Zimmermans Delicious Destinations, this place will blow you away. What sets this place apart, though, is not just the quality of the ingredients but the heart and soul poured into each dish. As a family-owned spot, they take pride in making their own sauces from the secret dumpling dip to the sriracha each one crafted in-house to perfectly complement the noodles and meat. They also make their own meatballs, which is a must try. It's the kind of attention to detail that's rare to find these days. Whether you're a pho purist or you like to experiment with extra toppings, you can tell that every bowl is made with love, dedication, and a passion for quality. The freshness of the herbs, the perfectly tender beef, and that broth it's the kind of pho that transports you straight to Vietnam. If you haven't tried it yet, you're seriously missing out. This isn't just the best pho in town; it's the best pho you'll ever have. Pictures soon to follow with update!

Yelp
My go-to pho spot in the city! There are so many options in the area but Pho Cuong takes the cake for me. Their vermicelli bowls and rice plates are just as tasty as their hot steaming bowls of pho and always leave me feeling happy and full.

Yelp
Ever wanted to eat Pho in a colorful, little house off Classen? Whatever the answer, I hope you'll at least try it out. Sit down, take a look at the menu, order at the counter, and take a deep breath because on the exhale, your bowl is served and steaming. Slurping up flavor and the noodles and broth, I completely fell off from the world. Time became a stranger, those around me faded into obscurity, and for a moment, I am living in a world with no phone. Completely fell off the grid. Although my experience with Pho is minimal, my eating experience has been lifelong. Take my word for it; this food is good! The experience dances through my mind anytime I think of noodles and broth. Table for One? Do not fear, my single diners! There were more "for one" diners than couples or groups. It's the perfect place to blend in and fill up on some of the best Pho in OKC on a Friday night. Next time you want to disappear, join me here!

Yelp
Newly remodeled inside and outside! It desperately needed it last time I ate here and today it served. It's sooo much nicer than it used to be! Good job!! You get seated and order up front. Typical pho service! Dropped off food and that's it lol. Nobody came by to refill water. Napkins and condiments are already on the table. Food was good! Best bun Bo hue in the OKC!!

Yelp
Bun Thit Nuong, Cha Gio (marinated grilled pork slices and egg roll) - so good it makes me want to cry.

Yelp
Wife and I have been a few times, it's just good Pho. A little overpriced, interior could use a refresh, and you order at a counter, but you know what, the Pho is good. It's great. Service is as speedy and attentive as it needs to be. Totally worth visiting if you want great pho.

Yelp
Found this place while in OKC on business trip. Very friendly staff, clean places to sit and very centrally located. The pho broth was very good flavorful taste and more than enough chicken and noodles. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Best Pho restaurant in Oklahoma, hands down. Family owned and operated and they take pride in ever dish that leaves the kitchen. Try the chicken rice plate or the avocado smoothie. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was actually very good here. Everyone enjoyed the flavors of their pho, bun bo hue, beef stew and bun. I ordered the B1 bun vermicelli noodle. The bowl initially looked really good, after I poured in the fish sauce and was about to mix it, I noticed lots of black spots on my bean sprouts. They were not fresh at all - and I was about to eat that raw!?!? It was terrible and gross. I picked them all out- took about 5-10 mins. The meat in the bun was well flavored and tasted really good. The shrimp didn't taste the freshest, was ok. The overall flavor of the bun was actually a lot better than others I've eaten. But couldn't get over the fact that they served nasty bean sprouts. For the pho, the same sprouts were on the plate. At least this wasn't dumped into the pho like my bun. I would be embarrassed to serve uncooked "fresh" vegetables like that. Sprouts are so cheap. Let the bad ones go, serve some fresh ones please! I tasted some of the pho broth. Was legit tho. Place was packed on a Friday night. You sit down, then go order at the counter. They bring the food. You go up to the counter to pay. No frills no thrills. That's ok. As long as that was expected.

Dawn B.

Yelp
There was only one bad review for this place. I wish I had paid attention to it. There was absolutely no flavor to the food.

Casey J.

Yelp
This is single handed the best pho I've ever had and I eat pho every chance I get. Very clean place too.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
The staff is super friendly and my children loved the fresh avocado shake made with real avocados. If you are just visiting out of town, the ambiance is much to be desired and you pay at the front. I had BBH and it comes in a large bowl, felt it was a bit oily but flavorful. Definitely a local spot and more non-Asians than I expected. Definitely bare bones operations so don't come for the nice aesthetics and overall experience. Food is a bit above average.

Yelp
It's been many years since I've updated my review of Pho Cuong. Sadly for me, not much has changed. I am still thinking of suing this place for making me addicted to their Bun Bo Hue. It used to be something I would eat on a daily basis when I was living in OKC. And no I am not kidding. I have since moved to a different city which has somewhat mitigated my addiction, but I would find myself driving back from time to time for this dish. Pho Cuong has the best Bun Bo Hue in the business. If you have a chance to be in OKC, you have to give it a try. For those unfamiliar, Bun Bo Hue is a spicy Vietnamese beef noodle soup. Traditionally, this soup is served with beef shanks, coagulated pig blood cubes, pork shank, and Vietnamese ham in a spicy, unamic broth. Everybody has their own spin to it. Some like to remove the coagulated pig blood cubes or pork shank while others like to add rare beef steaks to the soup. Adding lemon and the side vegetables are highly recommended as they elevate the soup to new heights. Bun Bo Hue is a hidden gem noodle dish at a Vietnamese restaurant. I completely agree with the analogy of Bun Bo Hue as "pho on crack" because it is addictive. It does take a few tries to get use to but once you're used to it, don't get hooked! Consider yourself warned.

Yelp
Was in town for a short day trip and wanted some warm and hearty food, we decided on pho and had to see what was around. The service was quick, friendly, and prompt. The ambiance is very casual, you get seated, look over the menu and go up to the counter to place your order. The broth alone is so delicious, but the overall noodles, veggies and meats tasted fresh and you can tell them didn't skimp out.
google avatar

Yelp
Was my 1st time having Pho It was so delicious. I will definitely try it agin. The employees was friendly and gave excellent customer service Peaceful atmosphere

Yelp
Pro: clean interior, decent food, price. Con: small parking lot, ordering at counter. After finishing up some classes we decided to treat ourselves to some pho and found this establishment. Parking lot is a bit small but at the time it wasn't too busy so no issue finding a parking space. Upon entering we were seated by a nice female staff and was told to go to the counter to order when ready. For appetizer, we ordered the goi cuon( spring roll) and for my entree I had the pho tai. The spring roll came out fast and fresh, when dip into the peanut sauce it was perfectly balanced. For the pho I always say that the best way to tell if it is good and authentic is to taste the broth. I'm sad to say that the broth was very light and not seasoned enough to my liking. Portion size was decent with the meat being very tender. The interior was clean and modern. Also, had the mango smoothie and let me say that it didn't taste artificial but the restaurant most likely uses real mango for their smoothie. The price is was really cheap compared to other pho restaurants I eat in Maryland. Usually one appetizer + 2 main entree+ tax would be around 50 dollar but here it was only 38 dollar for two people. All in all, I would recommend anyone to come here and try it atleast once.

Yelp
Excellent as always! Tried something new ,similar to Pho. Making it a point to try new items each time I go.

Yelp
Best Vietnamese in OKC!!! I highly recommend! 85 characters seems like a lot to post about food, but required to tell you all that Pho Cuong has the best Vietnamese food in OKC.
google avatar

Cheri Y.

Yelp
This is my preferred Pho place in OKC as they are one of the only ones that make seafood Pho that is acceptable for my standard. I prefer seafood Pho. I make all my own bone broths, shrimp broth/seafood broth, grow my own basil & sprouts, make my own Pho so I never really go out for Pho or any kind of noods. Anyhoo, this place has seafood Pho & it's quite good. Recommend.

Waverly D.

Yelp
This is the best pho I've ever had. I've gone here for years and the place is run by very sweet people! One time I was waiting for some egg rolls I bought but had to leave before they were served. The next time I went there, they brought me the egg rolls! Me and my friends went there a lot during high school and I ordered the sesame balls so much that when I came inside the owner would say "sesame balls!" It always made me so happy! Overall great food and great people!
google avatar

Yelp
This place had some really great Vietnamese food! Our group tried to get lunch here, but it was packed so we came back for dinner. We hoped that was a good sign to the quality of the food here and we were not disappointed. The menu is large and they even have an extra large (90oz) pho It's only $20 so a great deal to feed multiple people. Our group got various types of pho and loved the broth. I ordered the pork chop with broken rice because it's hard to find broken rice back home. All the food was great and came out quickly and pipping hot. The service was friendly and I'd definitely come back next time I'm in OKC.

Yelp
WOW! What an amazing place--practically right in our own backyard. This mom & pop local eatery is truly one of a kind. MY first time trying it I got the Pho Tai and that is one of my all time favorites. The food is so fresh here and truly fuels the soul. The owners are such great people and we love dining in. Can't wait for our next visit!

Yelp
I've passed by the little green house many times and have never stopped. Yesterday my friend was craving Vietnamese and got a recommendation to go here. I'm so happy we did, this is my new jam! It's a small little place but everything we tried was incredible. Every single item had so much flavor and was delicious! We shared the fresh spring roles and the deep fried egg roles (2 to an order). I normally do not like spring rolls but these were by far the best I've ever had! So much flavor. The egg roles were wonderful as well. I ordered the CT 5. (Grilled short ribs marinated in lemongrass and chili peppers and it was so good and I would get it over and over again. The flavors work so well together. My friend got B4 (vermicelli with marinated grilled pork slices and an eggrole. This was delicious! The pork was amazing. Just delicious and flavorful. I got the Thai tea with a shot of espresso and wow best Thai tea I've had. I try it everywhere I go and usually I just want to love it and don't but this one was outstanding! It had jelly's in them (similar to bobo tea but they are square and more jello like vs watery balls) they have a great flavor and enjoyed them. My friend got the iced coffee with condensed milk and jelly. She loved it, it was a bit strong for me. This will be my go to place for Vietnamese. Also you will see by the pictures, it was so good I forgot to get pictures of the rolls and had already dug into our food before taking a pic!
google avatar

Yelp
Anyone know when it's going to reopen? It was only supposed to be shut ir a few days and it's been weeks
google avatar

Laurie M.

Yelp
We've been having pho here for 25+ years! Best broth in the city! Spring rolls, vermicelli bowls, any pho, grilled pork chop are all winners. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu. Nicest people own it & work there. They've renovated recently & it is lovely inside.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
My husband and I typically go to Pho Lien Hoa and are big fans, but since they are closed for renovations, we decided to try another place instead! To be honest, I was a little disappointed. We ordered a large pho with steak and brisket (#2). The broth was really good and flavorful, and the meat was tender. No complaints with the flavor at all! While the pho was good, I personally didn't think they gave us a lot of meat or noodles, especially for a large. We also got a B4, a vermicelli noodle bowl with grilled pork and egg rolls. I have to say, both my husband and I thought the egg roll was fantastic!! So flavorful. It really surprised us. However, the lettuce was a little wilty, and the pork was on the dry and hard side. Not juicy or succulent. The flavor of everything was okay, and I did like the fresh crunch of the bean sprouts. However, compared to other vermicelli bowls I've ordered which have come with additional toppings like cucumbers, carrots, etc. and have been way larger, I was let down. :( The staff working were nice and helpful! There were also a lot of tables and seating, so the diners were spread out and it didn't seem like you could hear the people's conversations from the table next to you. Overall, the pho was good, the vermicelli bowl was just okay, and the portion sizes could have been bigger. I was full after sharing both bowls with my husband, but he was still pretty hungry! Not my first stop for pho/Vietnamese food in OKC.

Yelp
Love love love this place! Excellent food, flavors, and big portions! Simple restaurant, no frills inside but the food is top notch! Friendly staff with quick service and they also modify some items for younger kids. Definitely high on my list for top places in okc!

Bethney G.

Yelp
Favorite Pho spot in the metro great service great food. Very chill spot I like to go by myself or with friends.

Debbie G.

Yelp
Always so delicious and service is great. One of the best - pho and spring rolls. One of my faves

Vineasa C.

Yelp
The best Pho in OKC... I go often and it's still as good as the first time. The service is fast and friendly. And it can be a nice quiet place to get away when they aren't busy.

Yelp
Tried Pho Cuong out again after what felt like years! They've repainted the outside and remodeled the inside, and it looks a lot brighter and cleaner. We were sat immediately, and saw signs that you order at the register. You also pay at the register in the same line, which caused for an unnecessary traffic jam of people waiting to pay, and people waiting to order. I appreciated how in depth the menu was, and the variety of Vietnamese foods they offered. We ordered the Ca Vien Chien and the Tom Vien Chien, which are fish and shrimp balls. They came out with sriracha and mayo on top, and we found them to be incredibly underwhelming and really touch and chewy as if they were reheated from frozen. We ordered the Pho and the Pho Bo Hue, and though it wasn't bad, it wasn't great. They definitely got the job done, but both soups felt a bit lackluster and were not really fragrant. Once we received our foods, we were not checked on once or ever had our waters refilled the whole meal. Overall, I had higher hopes and left disappointed!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I got the mi bo kho, my favorite dish . There was so much food and meat in there. They really did exceed expectations. I will be a happily returning customer :)
google avatar

Teaira J.

Yelp
Don't let the outside of this little place turn you away from going inside and trying their food because their food is amazing and I don't say that very often. They have quite a big menu as well so they is something for everyone from your basic soups to smoothies, to one bowl with pork blood cubes in it...I may gather enough courage to try that one day. I will most definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Love and well die for. Run to don't walk the best thing you will eat. It so fast and people are soooo nice!!!!!!

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER THE RAMEN IT IS GROSS. DONT COME HERE. I used to love this place but the lady told me she couldn't do anything for me when I asked to trade it out for Pho as an owner of an establishment you should make things right when a customer is unhappy not tell them they're going to have to pay for another meal. The Ramen tastes watered down & noodles are terrible. Not to mention the hospitality & attitude of the lady is just disappointing & not accommodating to problem solve whatsoever.
google avatar

Reba Y.

Yelp
This pho-bulous place is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in OKC. My friends and I have called it the green house for years. It's locally owned. The parking is somewhat limited, so you'll want to plan I'd you're going at a peak time. I primarily come here for the pho. The broth can make or break pho. The pho here is quite flavorful and is always at the right temperature. You know it's good when your friends say it's like their mom's home cooking! The service is fast. Due to Covid/staffing, you now order at the register rather than at your table I personally get the combination pho and add meatballs. I've tried a few different items on the menu. The smoothies are good. My personal faves are the durian, avocado, and jackfruit.
google avatar

Randy S.

Yelp
This is my goldielocks of pho houses. I just get so selfish when they are busy. Other pho houses in the area are great, but this is the only one I will pout about if I don't get. Small parking lot and interior and all of its periwinkle glory. These are my feelings, and they mean something to someone I wish I could describe other items, but I've only had pho here. All of the meats and tendons and tripe are done well and add a nice depth of meatiness mixed together. Loving the quail eggs as an option; snappy and creamy

Kayla L.

Yelp
The absolute worst tasting Vietnamese food I've ever had. I ordered the pho, my husband ordered Bo kho, and there was one other dish that we ordered. I couldn't even get myself to finish the pho because of how water downed the pho was. I tried the other dishes there and they were all watery as well. The worst Vietnamese food I've ever had in history. I was recommended this place by friends and was seriously disappointed. I don't even understand how this places was packed and full, every single one of us that went hated the food there.
google avatar

Layne C.

Yelp
Overall I really enjoyed this and I don't love Pho in general. It was super delicious, and the broth was awesome! I wish it had more meat/noodles but that's my opinion with every Pho restaurant so I'm not faulting it. We ordered the egg rolls (which I don't have photo of as they were devoured). I was expecting them to be larger and have more than 2 to the order, but again my bad for not fully reading the menu. I appreciate the very casual vibe they have going and our service was great!
google avatar

Amber Z.

Yelp
Dang was the Pho delicious. I was concerned walking with the cleanliness of the restaurant. Once I got past that I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of this older restaurant and the delicious food. I highly recommend coming here. They have multiple types of Pho and other dishes and appetizers.
google avatar

Jenna J.

Yelp
Note that the prices have increased quite a bit from the Yelp photos of the menu. Atmosphere was unpleasant. Old building and the inside needs updating and a good cleaning. You have to get up to order at the counter which detracts even further from the atmosphere. It's like a dirty fast food joint. We ordered the numbers 11 and 19. The soup was tasty. You then again have to go back to the counter to pay. If we come back, we will certainly order take out and eat at home.

Yelp
My husband and I loved this small spot! We had a random craving and went here even though it was warm outside. It hit the spot! The service was fast and uncomplicated. We started off with 2 appetizers, the spring roll and the fried potstickers. They were both very good! The spring roll was very light and refreshing, and the potstickers were filling for an app. The sauce for the pot sticker was so good! A light ginger tea flavor almost to it. We both got the Bon Bo Hue and it was soooo flavorful! Savory, spicy, and such a good amount of everything. We will definitely be coming back here to try more of their options.
