Denver’s Best Affordable Restaurant Food | Eater Denver

"Speaking of Vietnamese food: Though the local competition has grown tenfold over the years, fan loyalty to this Federal Boulevard fixture never wavers. Steaming bowls of pho (including a vegetarian option) take center stage, of course, but myriad vermicelli bowls and rice plates also await." - Eater Staff

The bowls are big enough to feed a hungry person for a few days! Plenty of meat added in and good amounts of rice noodles. Spring rolls are large and make a meal of themselves! Fast friendly service. Price is right too!

Google
A large bowl of pho for $16 came with a package of thinly sliced rare meat, the vegetables and bean sprouts looked sketchy, the bowl of pho was dirty, not sure if it was washed or just rinsed 😂 I asked the waiter to bring out the cooked bean sprouts but they completely ignored me. I finished the large bowl of pho for $16 as if I had not eaten anything. Owner try to max max profit but they total wrong I will never go back here 😁I have eaten at 3 pho shops recently, Pho Duy is the worst in this street! I will never see it again 😁👌

Amazing service and delicious pho!!! Our server (possibly the owner?) was SO friendly and attentive - all the workers were very kind and quick. Egg rolls were a delicious starter to share. We were driving back from a long hike, and the pho was perfect to warm us up - broth was hearty and comforting, and the bowl was loaded with meat and spices/herbs.

Google
We have been here during family vacation and looking for Vietnamese food . We ordered beef pho, fried rice,Bun Bo Huế, hu tiêu gà khô, and Thai dessert. Just the fried rice is not too salty, the rest we could not finish because they are too salty. The Thai dessert is more like jelly dessert because no hint of durian and just can jelly. We not recommend this place if you are looking authentic Viet food.

Google
I have gone here at least once every week and it never disappoints. The Pho here is out of this world, full of rich flavors and worth every penny. The prices here are very reasonable too. Services is always on point, they are very fast and efficient at getting the food out to you.

Google
Best pho restaurant ever. I ordered the #47 and it was great, huge portion, perfect taste. By the way the music they play is gooood, I love that atmosphere lol.

Google
We’ve been coming to Pho Duy for 10 years, and yesterday was our first time back since the pandemic. Unfortunately, it isn’t the same and no longer feels worth the money. Our server struggled to answer our questions, and there was some confusion with our order—possibly due to a language barrier. I ordered a #11 and my friend ordered a #12, but I was surprised to find more fat than steak in my pho. When I brought up this issue with them, the server refused to assist me. I believe the server mixed up our order. On a positive note, the boba was great overall. However, we’re not sure if we’ll be returning to this location again.

Happy One

Google
Stopped in to this place since we were hungry in the area. The steak pho broth was very good as was the vegetable pho spicy flavorful broth and lots of vegetables. Taro boba tea was so good and so was the soursop boba.

Yelp
Pho Duy is exactly what you'd expect from a classic Vietnamese pho restaurant--nothing fancy, just simple and straightforward. Don't come here looking for a sleek, modernized ambiance; this place is all about the food. The service is quick and efficient, which I appreciate when I'm craving a fast, satisfying meal. The menu is extensive, offering plenty of options for pho enthusiasts and newcomers alike. When the pho arrived, it was piping hot--just the way it should be. It felt like a warm hug in a bowl, the perfect antidote to a chilly Denver day. That said, the broth could use a bit more depth to really stand out, but it still hits the spot when you're in need of comfort food. Pho Duy has become my go-to pho spot whenever I'm in Denver. It's not perfect, but it's reliable, authentic, and consistently delivers on what you'd expect from a solid bowl of pho. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5

Yelp
- was able to accommodate our large party of 17 - excellent customer service, they speak english and viet - free hanh dam/onions on the side - both bo kho and pho were v flavorful and yummy - bowls were priced around $16 - skip the crab ragoons/wontons, not that good - would def return!!

Yelp
There's a wide variety of pho options in Denver, but one of my faves is Pho Duy of of Federal Blvd.! For me, consistency is key, and they're spot on. Their broth is always hot and flavorful, basil/bean sprouts/lime/jalapeños are fresh, noods are cooked perfectly, & the meats are . I'd 10/10 recommend defrosting over a bowl of pho... throw in some shrimp spring rolls + Vietnamese egg rolls and you've got yourself one heck of a meal! The interior is your traditional and classic Vietnamese restaurant--warm, homey, and bustling! The service is usually quick, but can be slower during the dinner rush.

Yelp
Pho Duy is a classic, definitely one of my favorite pho spots. I usually have to drive thirty minutes there but it's always worth it! You gotta get the tofu spring rolls too - it's a must I usually get the chicken pho with extra noodle, but my most recent visit I got the veggie with Tofu. The tofu was delicious and the veggies were pretty fresh. This place is always busy especially on a cold day, the staff is nice and quick.

Yelp
Amazing service and delicious pho!!! Our server (possibly the owner?) was SO friendly and attentive - all the workers were very kind and quick. Egg rolls were delicious starter to share. The PHO BROTH is sooo hearty and comforting. Super generous in their meat portions , and the flavor of the broth w/ the meats and herbs make it a hearty meal. We were visiting from SoCal (one of the top places for Viet food) and Pho Duy is one of the best pho I've had!!

Yelp
It was chilly on Friday so it seemed like a great day for pho or ramen. Got a recommendation to try this place from an acquaintance who had gone for lunch earlier in the day. The place was hopping. There's a parking lot on the side and you can kind of park behind it too? Not too hard. We were seated immediately when we got inside. The menu is fairly large, having a nice variety of pho, rice dishes, noodle dishes, and a giant page of boba flavors if that's your thing. We just stuck with water this time. For an appetizer we shared some Vietnamese spring rolls which was an order of two fairly large rolls (we each had one) and some dipping sauce (comes with peanuts, oops, mild allergy at our table - make sure to tell them if you're allergic). For dinner I ordered pho with beef and brisket. Beef was cooked fairly well, a little chewy/fatty at parts. The broth was definitely aromatic and the limes and jalapeños added great flavor. I did realize pho is not necessarily my thing, but it did taste good for what it was. Prices seemed fair as well (one price for small, one for medium, one for large). I ordered a large, and then was told by friends later "Never get the large; you'll never finish it." And of course I didn't finish it. But I did eat most of the noodles (the real reason I get these sorts of dishes). We asked for the check at the end and I didn't realize you had to go to the counter and tell them your table # to pay. Our waitress didn't tell us, but then told us about 10 minutes later. Not a big deal. They definitely seemed to want to close promptly at 9 though - at 8:30/8:45 they were kind of.....picking up dishes everywhere and seemingly shooing people a little bit. Overall dinner was very filling, ambience was a little busy/hectic. My husband's chopsticks came with a green onion wrapped around one of them so we had to get a new set.

Yelp
The Vietnamese guy waiter was unprofessional and ignore our table. Despite several attempts to get their attention, he repeatedly walked past us without acknowledgment. When we finally managed to place our order, his attitude was dismissive and rude. I felt undervalued as a customer. Food is great but will not return.

Yelp
This was my first time eating here, and it was hands down the best I've ever had! The food was exceptional, and the service was friendly + attentive. I'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I saw the chicken wings on the menu and had to try them. Crunchy, greasy, delicious chicken wings. Also tried the beef Banh Mi which is actually an appetizer on the menu. Fresh bread roll filled with cucumber, carrot, seasoned beef, and cilantro. Simple, delicious, and refreshing heading into the warm summer weather. Friends enjoyed the dumplings, I didn't try it but they look crunchy.

Yelp
Consistently one of the top Viet places in town. Almost never leave disappointed, top quality and portions. Pho review - Noodles: 5/5 proper square banh pho - Broth: 5/5 rare to have a consistently rich broth like this. Savory bone flavor, notes of anise, not oily, nice clear broth - Meat: 5/5 consistently high quality meat, from the rare Tai to the brisket - Accessory plate: 5/5 always fresh bean sprouts, juicy limes, fresh herbs What's not to love honestly. Super high quality, slightly higher price, but also solid portion sizes. If you're gonna pick one spot, it should probably be Pho Duy.

Yelp
This place is good but, they take forever. Even if you order ahead. It happens every time so I know it wasn't a one time occurrence.
google avatar

Yelp
Tried Pho Huy while visiting a friend. We got take out and the portions were larger than I'm used to. I got the pho ga while my husband got the rare steak pho. I was surprised that the pho did not come in a bowl or a container big enough to mix everything together. I did not like the broth which had a ginger flavor. The restaurant also forgot to give us 2 drinks in our order.

Yelp
Got to pho joint in Denver. Best pho we have had, bahn mi was on point. Coffee was good too. Quick service.

Yelp
There are many Vietnamese restaurants in Denver to choose from. We decided on this place just because. Don't let the prices scare you as it seems expensive because the portions are huge. If you are a small eater, it is best to share. My kids had the rice combination. I ended up finishing their food when I ordered a Bun Bo Hue for myself. The grilled meat was OK. It was more on the salty side. The highlight was my Bun Bo Hue. It is one of the best I had. The portion was so large that I ate for two dinners!!!! I can not get myself to throw it away. I did not mind having the same for two nights. Flavors were perfect. Even spice, and they gave the shrimp paste on the side so you can put as much as you want. It was very addicting. I found myself drinking all the broth. I recommend the Bun Bo Hue of you like something other than Pho.

Yelp
Best pho in Denver!! Nicest people too, I got the number 10 with rare steak and brisket.

Yelp
We honestly only came here because my fiancé's name is Duy so we thought it would be cute to eat at Pho Duy lol. I also heard that Pho 95 was overhyped so another reason to give Pho Duy a shot! Duy thoroughly enjoyed the goi cuon (spring rolls) and crab Rangoon. The pho was pretty decent. I ordered the #1 which had basically all the different cuts of meat in it and thought they were all solid. The broth was good, not my favorite but I could appreciate the flavors and I did not need to drown it in hoisin and sriracha. The portion size is huge! I ordered a medium and got full by the time I finished all my meat and had so much noodles left over. Service was quick too! We had our food out in no time.

Yelp
My favorite viet restaurant. Period. This restaurant is so out of the way from me, at least a 30 min drive, but I will go out of my way to come here whenever I'm craving viet food. It can get pretty busy on the weekends but tables free up pretty quick. I haven't had a bad dish here yet. People all recommend the pho here, which you definitely can't go wrong with. But if you're looking to venture out and try some other dishes other than Pho, I Highly recommend the following: BUN BO HUE - spicy, lemongrass noodle soup with slices of beef and pork hock. (remember to squeeze some lime into the broth!) BO KHO - beef stew with chunks of soft, braised beef and carrots. You can order this with noodles or bread. I took one sip of the broth and almost cried from how good it was. BO LUC LAC (SHAKING BEEF) - tender, caramelized beef chunks served with a side of rice, veggies, and a dipping sauce. WONTON SOUP APPETIZER - the wontons are very strongly shrimp flavored which isn't my favorite. But I'm listing it here because the broth is SO good. Has so much depth of flavor. It's a clear soup that's Very savory and garlicky. Topped with fried onion crisps and chopped leaf vegetable. Idk what kind of vegetable is in there but it tastes almost buttery (so good!)
google avatar

Yelp
Year in, year out a high quality, good (alright, great) tasting Pho. Prices are moderate, service is good and worth the drive. The portions are generous. The restaurant is well maintained. It is crowded inside with dining tables and chairs that seem to always be nearly full. That's not a negative... it indicates its popularity. I try to get there at least two or more times per month.

Yelp
If you are looking for the best Pho in Denver look no further than Pho Duy! We have been to tons of different Pho shops and none compare to Pho Duy. The broth they make has the best flavor and if you aren't a fan of the soup they have tons of other delicious options. My go to order is the rare steak pho and the spring rolls or egg rolls, either roll you can't go wrong with. The service is always great and the staff is kind and fast. We have been regulars to this location and they already know our order and even remember that I like to use a fork not chop sticks and bring one out right away, now that is great service! The restaurant is not fancy in any way as far as looks go but what they lack in decor they make up for in flavor. Definitely check them out if you are in the mood for some amazing pho you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
Absolutely solid. It's the pho shop of my childhood - from the no frills tables and chairs, to the quick food & service, and of course, the pay at the counter when you're done. It's such a solid place that I even took my (very picky) parents that live in Little Saigon of Southern California to eat here.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered weekday lunch delivery Was very happy with the Banh Mi sandwich- great flavor and decent portion. I liked the sauce in the pork The spring roll (with shrimp and beef) was underwhelming and I won't recommend
google avatar

Annette T.

Yelp
It's hard to make a vegetarian version of a beef based soup but this Bun Bo Hue Chay was pretty freaking good! There was various vegetarian "meats" in the soup, most of which was tofu, but it added variety and I appreciate that. I think I'll be coming back here whenever I'm in the area. Everything else also looked delicious.
google avatar

Gene R.

Yelp
Just moved to the area and my roommate recommended this place. Service was fast, food was great, prices were right. Had a medium bowl of Pho #1 and it was yummy and I was very full!
google avatar

Yelp
Possibly my favorite restaurant in all of Colorado (that I've tried so far). I didn't really have high hopes but after being recommended by some locals, we gave it a shot. The food was well worth the wait. I ordered the pho with meat balls and rare steak on the side, egg rolls, shrimp rolls and spring rolls and everything was a hit. The pho broth was super flavorful. Everything was decently priced as well. Will definitely be returning every time I'm in town!
google avatar

Cameron Q.

Yelp
We were in town and craved for good Vietnamese food. We ordered bun bo hue, com suon and goi cuon son. The pork chop in the con suon was good. The rice itself was a bit wet. We did like the goi cuon's pork slices but the sauce was a bit underwhelming. It was a basically a water down version of hoisin sauce. Bun bo hue is my favorite Vietnamese food so I'm very critical about it. Pho Duy did a good job of having all the ingredients and garnish for it. However, they felt short on the broth flavor. The blood sausage was either too old or overcooked. You always want the blood sausage to have the same texture as the tofu. That's how you knew it was fresh and not over cooked. Overall, this place has potential.
google avatar

Yelp
I always have a great lunch experience at Pho Duy. The broth is undeniably great, and what stood out to me was the generous meat portions--they're really substantial, which I truly appreciate. The restaurant's no-fuss, simple dining area adds to its charm. It's usually bustling with patrons, ensuring the food is consistently fresh due to the high demand. Pho Duy in Denver is my go-to choice for a reliable and satisfying Pho meal.
google avatar

Dao T.

Yelp
We came here as we heard some great reviews! The pho was just okay. The broth didn't really have any flavor and the meat quality didn't seem very good. The meat was super chewy. Our order came out and was incorrect . My bowl of pho had lots of noodles and less meat and my daughter has less noodles but so much meat.
google avatar

JayonBlay C.

Yelp
Pho size is good, lots of noodles in the pho. Great tasting meat slices. Broth is light and very clean (best to not add in condiments). Broth w/ condiments like hoisin sauce and rooster hot sauce didnt taste as good w/ it. Spring rolls are great! Grilled meat w/ veggies and peanut sauce goes well together
google avatar

Ken C.

Yelp
Tasty pho. Great place to have some pho on a cold winter day. I have been going here for years and I have to say it's something the best pho in Denver. It's usually pretty fast service and food is consistant. With their strong business they have raised prices for large bowl of pho to approx $15, but this isn't a surprise since inflation on food costs. I order to go and it's worth the try as well.
google avatar

Audrey O.

Yelp
Wow. Just wow. After being spoiled by DC-Area Pho, I didn't have my hopes too high. However, I just found my favorite pho spot in the city! The portions are MASSIVE for a large bowl ($18), with the meat serving being particularly large as well making the price point a good value. The care with the takeout was also noted with everything neatly packaged and placed in a large carrying box. The broth had this incredible depth--something you absolutely want to tuck into on a cold day. Get the large rare steak with additional brisket, the brisket is definitely not something you want to sleep on.

Marcia H.

Yelp
I just received my vegetarian pho delivery which is made with a spicy broth which I cannot eat. The description does not say the broth is spicy. Of course, the manager is not in. I was told I could drive to the restaurant and get a replacement order with beef broth if I wanted. Totally unacceptable.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Pho duy has delicious pho. Excellent serving sizes and all the ingredients are very fresh! When I go to pho restaurants I usually want more veggies like bean sprouts and basil and they gave me plenty! You definitely get your money's worth of food! I wasn't too impressed with their iced tea but it wasn't bad either. The workers inside were very helpful. I ordered takeout and had to go up to someone and ask to be helped, but they were busy. Restaurant has plenty of seating. They also have reserved parking for pho duy only as Federal Blvd can be super busy, so parking shouldn't be an issue.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Great veg pho! I took my family here because they aren't veg but it was near my place- I would go again!
google avatar

Riley H.

Yelp
This is my husband and I's favorite restaurant in the Denver area! The fried dumplings are so crispy and good, and their grilled meat never disappoints. We also share the pho in a size small along with another entree because even the size small is huge! It's delicious and we go often. Highly recommend. The service is very quick and kind.

Doris L.

Yelp
I had the Bun Bo Hue. I usually don't. It looked good, what with blood sausage and pig foot as part and parcel. When it came out, which was in seconds, the bowl was light. It felt disappointing; didn't have the heft of a pho bowl. I was seated perpendicular to the rest of the customers, who all seemed to be on dates. Dressed nicely and using both sticks and spoon to get to morsel and noodle. It's not the cleanest place this side of the Western hemisphere but the ritzy denizens rushing in and out didn't seem to mind. I could taste the pho watching the people. My pig foot was too small. There was one cube of a blood sausage. The thicker noodle was unimpressive - too soft, or overcooked. There were raw veggies aplenty, which is always a good thing. Nothing was terrible or even off-putting. It looked great, sounded promising, but the actual lacked substance, was bland.
google avatar

Vincent U.

Yelp
They are very inconsistent with their portions. The pho and everything is good but you just don't know what your getting.
google avatar

Phi T.

Yelp
Delicious pho Love the broth and the fresh veggies The meat and noodles are cooked perfectly. I would recommend any of the pho options and their egg rolls. The resto is always packed at night even on weekdays so parking can be a hassle but it's worth it. The quality here is way better than their Broomfield location due to different ownership for those who didn't know.
google avatar

Dan D.

Yelp
Had late lunch at Pho Duy - the food is pretty good and with generous portions. They've included the latest price increases on their menu, one can't exactly blame the restaurant, but I was a bit surprised. Service was Ok; on the plus side, they do have beer available.
google avatar

Dana B.

Yelp
Food was great. Place was packed - hardly any available tables. Service was fast. Will be going again.
google avatar

Ben M.

Yelp
Definitely recommend to all who happen to be driving down Federal. Pho was flavorful and hot. Service was great and definitely a return customer during my stay here in Denver. So let it be said... So let it be EATEN.
google avatar

Hallie M.

Yelp
Authentic pho that packs a punch! Pho Duy's broth is amazing, and their portions are huge!! Medium & large phos easily make two meals. Restaurant is simple and no fuss, which lets the food really stand out. I definitely recommend the crab ragoons too - they might have been the best I've ever had! Super filled, oozing, but not too much breading. 10/10 appetizer!
google avatar

Damian W.

Yelp
PRICE IS GOING UP AND UP AND FOOD IS LES AND LESS compare to before! Also sometime the broth are so salty. I don't know is it because COVIC they lost business so they are trying to get back the money they lost but changing the old way that was so good.

Carolyn M.

Yelp
The food is great. The order/pick up fee is steep. $14 for 2 bowls of Pho. The Yelp app screwed up the pick up time.
google avatar

Dylan S.

Yelp
Went in because a friend recommended me this spot. It had got a little chilly during the weekend so decided pho was gunna be the meal for dinner. Staff was friendly. Also ordered the Bo Luc Lac. Beef was VERY tender. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Samuel L.

Yelp
Was recommended this place by Strictly Dumpling when I was in the area for a weekend. This might be the best bowl of pho I've had in a long time. The portion size is MASSIVE (large bowl pictured and is worth the upgrade). The size is real. As for the food and flavors. Some of the richest broth and cleanest broth I've had. The meat that was in the bowl was perfectly cooked. The noodles had a perfect chew to them. Overall, the vibe was a very traditional Vietnamese restaurant. The service was not the best, but the best Asian places always lack in this. It's expected and it is a welcome sign that the place is amazing. The food speaks for itself, would highly recommend!

Mama O.

Yelp
The service is awful, the waitresses let us waiting a lot for taking the order, I understand that it happens when the place is crowded, but there where just a few tables occupied. we wait a lot for the food we order, and they bring part of the order first and like 10 minutes apart the rest, (we were just 3 people in our table) the wontons were very greasy and the veggies was not fresh, cucumbers were saggy. I don't recommend this place at all
google avatar

Samuel R.

Yelp
I get the beef with everything, fried egg rolls,it was impeccable, this is my spot, when im in town.

Jessica W.

Yelp
Quick service with soup that was packed with flavor! Parking available in small side lot.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
I came here for pho and I was not disappointed! Everything was delicious and I liked the calm, casual atmosphere on a weeknight. Would definitely come back!
