Phở Gà Nguyệt

This is pretty damn amazing. Absolutely satisfactory and soul-warming. I think eating it at night helps. The departing nod with the staff (besides the pho, of course) was pure understanding. Try both soup and dry. Both rule in different parallels.

A bowl of warm noodles that I ate after arriving in Hanoi late at night. A refreshing taste in a subtle chicken broth. I had a delicious meal. As I ate, I realized that it was a famous restaurant that had been selected for the BIB Gourmand.

I went back a second time, at dinner. Eggs and offal were still sold out. But the second visit was much better than the first, so back to five star!! It’s not bad, but not as great as it’s made out to be. Pricing isn’t the cheapest, but quality food. Bread sticks were a bit dry/old. Note that offal is only available at dinner. I would fathom a guess that they use old roosters, tasty enough. Definitely try it out.

Interesting dry pho, something you don’t see often. Chicken was flavourful but had lots of hard cartilage bits(I got the thigh). I have noticed that’s how chicken is generally prepared here in Hanoi. The soup version was pretty good, hearty chicken broth

You can't leave Vietnam without trying the food from this place. I personally like the Pho Tron. This place is very popular and mostly open in the evenings. The service is fast and there are many seats available. They have 3 stores next to each other. It recently got a Michelin star, so I definitely highly recommend it.

Typical bowl of pho in Hanoi. There wasn’t anything too mind blowing about this. Broth was average and chicken was slightly tougher. Came in with higher expectations as this was michellin bib, but it was disappointing. Had better pho in the old quarter at a lower price.

The dry chicken pho is nice which I preferred comparing to the soup one. The youtiao is not “fresh” though and therefore has this “oily” taste. And the chicken breast meat is a bit tough. First time seeing all kinds of chicken organs in a bowl of soup. I would say this is a must try.

I'm not the biggest fan of chicken pho, but this is very good! The dry pho was my favourite, you can adjust the flavours a lot with the pickled garlic and spices they provide on the table. Don't pho ga-t (forget) to come through!
