Exciting Restaurants to Try in San Jose 2025 | Eater

"Tucked inside a Vietnam Town shopping center, this restaurant can be easy to miss. But premium toppings, like bone-in short rib, tendon, and oxtail, on top of fresh vermicelli noodles in a golden-hued, deeply flavorful broth have wooed legions of fans. Phở Hà Nội is generous, offering amply-portioned servings of meat in each bowl. (Meat-free versions are also available.) The char-grilled pork rolls are not to be missed either." - Christina Marie Mueller

11 Best Bowls of Pho in the South Bay | Eater SF

"Pho Ha Noi serves Northern-style pho, which comes with thick, silky noodles and a clean, lighter broth. But that doesn’t mean the broth is simple to make. More than 500 pounds of bone marrow are cooked in a large 500-liter pot for almost 24 hours. Pho Ha Noi also promises consistent quality with their meat, as they say they source all of their beef from Whole Foods or Costco, while their free-range chicken comes directly from local farms. Aside from the beef and chicken pho, the egg rolls, egg noodles, and spring rolls are also fan favorites. And for those on the other side of the South Bay, you’re in luck — there’s another location in Cupertino." - Cathy Park

Google
Can’t Stop Coming Back! >< This is hands down the best pho you can get. The broth has that authentic taste—rich, flavorful, and clean, with none of those off flavors you sometimes get elsewhere. Honestly, sometimes I don’t even know exactly what I’m ordering because I already know whatever I pick will be good! I never leave without finishing my bowl completely. My friends, and family love it here. Getting in during night times are usually challenging with wait time. However, it’s all worth it! :) If this place ever had a pho challenge, I’d probably call in sick to work just to indulge!

Google
Great Vietnamese food and they have different special combo offered at very attractive price at various period. The pho broth is tasty and the chicken wing is crispy and juicy. The BBQ chicken with tomato rice is unique with specially prepared rice and nicely marinated BBQ chicken. Always a delight to come back.

I didn’t realize the hype about this place until I wrote this review. When I came, I was thoroughly impressed. It was the largest and most impressive pho restaurant I’ve ever been to. I was even more surprised by their extensive menu selection. While many of the dishes are available at other pho places, the meat quality here is significantly different, and the prices are higher. I had expected the meat to be tastier, but I was pleasantly surprised that everything was just above average (not excellent). The coffee was also good, but not exceptional. However, what truly sets this place apart is their exceptional attention to detail in serving each customer. Compared to other pho restaurants, their service is top-notch. I ended up spending $40 for one appetizer, one bowl of regular pho, and one coffee. It’s certainly pricey, so be prepared to spend extra. Parking is easy and never a problem.

Google
We got the Special Combination Pho, Chick Noodle Soup, Nem Nuong Cuon, and Bun Thit Nuong Cha. All the food was pretty good. Personal preference, I wish the beef in the Pho wasn't so fatty. The place seemed really busy but people were entering and leaving constantly that it wasn't much of a wait for outdoor sitting. The staff will eventually get to you but it was easier for us to wave at the staff so we know that they know we are looking for them to order or ask questions. We needed to go inside to pay for our meal. It was really sweet that the staff provided us containers to share our food and provide water for our dog!

Google
The best pho I have in Bay Area for now, especially for the chicken one. The chicken is tender and the broth is so good. Staff here are all nice and friendly

Google
I was fortunate enough to be served by Danny who brought me such delicious Pho Tai with Tendon. When I tell you that I love this place so much and I think about it often I just wish I was closer because I live in LA. The broth was scrumptious. The meat was hand tenderized and so delicious. The tendon was melt in your mouth phenomenal and the fresh noodles were so bouncy and flavorful. Let’s not forget that yummy hit sauce. I wish I lived closer because I would be a regular guest. Danny is an excellent server, he brought our food out so quickly was very friendly! 10/10

Google
This is a great place to have delicious Vietnamese food, especially for large groups of 10. The one thing I wanted to try was their beef rib pho also known as number 17, but there is a spicy version number 29. The kids enjoyed the rice plates such as the beef ribs and grilled pork chops. The one thing I did not expect was their hot tea was served like a Starbucks cup. I was hoping to have a teapot with actual tea leaves inside. Their drink menu was also as good with Boba Thai iced tea and coconut drink with slices of coconut.

Google
I’ve had plenty of pho across the states ( NY, Philly, LA, Denver, ATL, DAL) and other countries (Toronto, Paris, Montreal, Japan, and various others) and even in Vietnam (Hanoi), and say hands down this is the top 3 of all time for me. Although we waited almost an hour to be seated, it was well worth it. The soup broth looked plain and clear but trust me, it was packed with so much flavor- my daughter was drinking it with a straw. The meat is super tender and not overcooked. Aside from the long wait during lunch time, the parking lot does get a little hectic so you should mentally prepare for that chaos.

Yelp
Pho Ha Noi has been one of my go-to restaurants in South Bay! The broth is so flavorful, the meat is great, and I LOVE all of the green onions. Highly recommend! Not pictured, but also got their shaking beef -- SO good. The service is always great, they're quick to take your order and the food comes out hot. This is a great place for lunch to catch up with friends or a great casual date night vibe.

Yelp
Pho No Hai: A Culinary Journey Through Ancestral Recipes Unleash your taste buds at Pho No Hai, where ancestral secret recipes are expertly crafted by a talented chef. This restaurant emphasizes fresh, organic produce sourced from local farms. Their commitment to quality shines through in every dish, with ingredients like high-quality Angus beef from Harris Ranch and free-range brown chicken from Stockton Poultry. Additionally, the Pho spices are harvested from Vietnam's Central Valley mountains, ensuring an authentic and flavorful experience. Chicken Pho We started with the Chicken Pho, a dish that instantly transported us to the heart of Vietnam. The clear broth was rich and soothing, enhanced by the bright flavors of cilantro and lime. The balance of these ingredients created a harmonious, refreshing taste that lingered pleasantly on the palate. The generous portions ensured we left fully satisfied. Combodian Style Pho Next, we sampled the Combodian Style Pho, which featured a delectable mix of prawns and seafood. This dish was a true delight, with the fresh seafood perfectly complementing the aromatic broth. Each spoonful was a burst of oceanic flavors, melding beautifully with the traditional Pho spices. Fried Egg Rolls The Fried Egg Rolls were another highlight of our meal. Crispy and golden, they paired perfectly with the side salad, adding a crunchy contrast to the fresh, vibrant greens. The combination was both satisfying and refreshing, showcasing the versatility and creativity of the menu. Location and Service Located in San Jose's Vietnam Town, Pho No Hai is hard to miss. The atmosphere is inviting, and the service is exceptional, making every visit a pleasant experience. The staff is attentive and friendly, ensuring that each guest feels welcomed and well cared for. Pho No Hai is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey that celebrates the rich heritage of Vietnamese cuisine. With its commitment to quality ingredients and authentic flavors, it stands out as a must-visit destination for food lovers. Whether you're a Pho aficionado or new to Vietnamese cuisine, Pho No Hai promises an unforgettable dining experience.

Yelp
Gross never coming back. Wish that they had more flavor and quality. Bread Is frozen and toasted up. Fries have a shelf life of 30 seconds they get they get soggy as hell. Only five dollar tips The service the waiter rushed me to finish my food and asked if I was finished with my food, even though there was food in my mouth

Yelp
Pho Hanoi is a San Jose institution! It's pretty good and service is quick and efficient. Loved their spring rolls. They ran out of chicken thigh pho so my friend got their chicken breast pho and she said it was actually very tender/juicy. When we came on a Wed after 7P, there were so many people waiting so def come earlier or later.

Yelp
This Pho spot has become my go-to in the area. It's always buzzing, no matter if it's lunchtime or dinner. Thankfully, the spacious interior means the wait for a table is rarely an issue. Their chopped beef Pho is absolutely incredible - it's easily my favorite dish on the menu. I've tried both the homemade and classic noodles, and surprisingly, I prefer the classic. They seem to absorb the amazing broth just a touch better. Speaking of the broth, it's what truly sets this place apart. It strikes a perfect balance between fragrant herbs and rich beef flavor - a true testament to their dedication! Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area and craving some phenomenal Pho.

Yelp
I have been going to Pho Ha Noi ever since they opened way back then - I didn't realize I never gave them a review! Pho Ha Boi has been my go-to spot for a nice bowl of pho, whether it's winter or summer I'd somehow end up here. The service is pretty quick and the staff here are pretty chill and quick to satisfy any needs. They're also very understanding when it comes to questions and possible adjustments to your meal. If it's your first time visiting, I'd recommend coming either on a weekday or right when they open to avoid busy lines and the possible chaos that comes with weekend dining. And if you are planning to go with a large group or on the weekend, definitely hop onto their Yelp waitlist- trust me it's worth it and you won't find yourself waiting in a longer line. The seating arrangement here could be a little confusing, but it's pretty straightforward- you have the option to sit either outside or inside, but just be mindful that there's much more seating outside and if it's busy, sitting outside isn't bad at all. :-) OKAY THE FOOD: My go to Pho will ALWAYS be the #10 Special combination pho- you get a little bit of everything and this bowl can seriously fill you up. My boyfriend tends to get #20 the rare flap meat + short rib. We both usually get our pho with fresh noodles (thick noodles) and though it's not the traditional skinny rice noodle, the fresh noodles just hit better? We also usually get a side of nem nuong cuon as an appetizer which honestly completes the meal. I have tried the salted cream Vietnamese coffee before and WHEN I SAY THAT IT IS STRONNGGGGGG, pls believe me. I'd usually get a drink here, but there were some boba spots around Vietnam Town that we ended up visiting a boba shop after.

Yelp
I was feeling under the weather so my guy took me out to try this place. We have been trying different pho places and this is absolutely one of our best faves. This was such a cute place and the staff was truly helpful and kind to let us know it was full inside so we were good to being seated outside. They were pretty facts to help us. Especially the food came out quickly and the broth was so good. It just took a bit longer to get a box because the place got really busy real quick! My guy loved his food he was hooked on the sauce. I highly recommend trying this place out and earlier in the evening before rush hour.

Yelp
Pho Ha Noi is like a landmark of San Jose. I bring my visiting friends to come here to try the Pho, and they hit the spot every single time!! I came here recently for a graduation lunch, and we had some difficulty with the service. We are unable to reserve ahead of time, and called the restaurant in advance- we got a table pretty quickly, however two orders got mixed up and they made it up with giving us a extra drink. It took a bit of time for everyone's food to come. By the time the two forgotten orders came, a majority of us finished our food. All the other times I have been here they are extremely courteous and nice! This was the only time there was some mixups, and staff were very apologetic on a busy Friday.

Yelp
I have been here a couple of times now, and their rice dishes are amazing. This review is strictly for the dish I tried this time. They offer both outdoor and indoor seating, and the service is fast and friendly. Here's what I ordered: * 59 Com Suon Bo Sa Ot (Grilled lemongrass short rib with white rice) It comes with 6 pieces of short rib (boneless), a bowl of white rice, fresh salad (tomato and lettuce), and extra sauce for dipping. I am truly amazed by how the beef was handled and cooked. It's so fragrant, and I'm in love with the chargrilled flavor. The beef is tender, and I really love the addition of scallion oil drizzled on top of the beef. This enhances the flavor and adds more depth. And the dipping sauce, OMG, it's sweet with a strong flavor of fish sauce. It pairs perfectly with the beef, and I am 10/10 happy with every element plated up on the dish.

Yelp
Delicious dinner Sun night at Pho Ha Noi!! When we arrived there were servers to help outdoor seating so we sat outside but as the evening progressed they stopped seating outside bc it was getting too cold. I got number 21 beef flank and oxtail and bf got the beef rib bone in pho. His meat was sooo tender and good. Would def recommend ordering that. There was always a wait but the seating went pretty quickly. We also tried the sugarcane drink and it was very good. I would def recommend this place!!!

Yelp
The wait can be quite long nowadays, but honestly, they do such a good job! You can't go wrong with their giant beef rib pho or their combo pho. I love that you get to chose the type noodle you would want and can adjust accordingly. The meat served here falls right off the bone. Super tender and the broth is perfection. I understand the hype if you're looking for something a little different than the standard bowl of pho. During weekends --things can be a tad crazy, so make sure to put yourself on the Yelp waitlist.
google avatar

Yelp
Pho Hanoi has been around for quite some time. I recently tried the pho here and I now understand the hype. There was a bit of a wait. They have Yelp Waitlist. However, I didn't see the option to check in through the app that day. Not sure if the waitlist was closed or if you can only sign up when you get there. We waited for about 25 minutes and got seated! Once we ordered, it took a while for food to come out. Luckily, we were patient and the wait was worth it. Tried their pho tai duoi bo (flap meat and ox tail) with fresh noodles and it was so good! The meat was tender, and the broth was clean and rich. Pho Hanoi has multiple locations, but you'll find this one tucked away in the back of Vietnam Town in San Jose! I'd come back, but I'd recommend coming at an off-hour when things are slower. Pho is good here!

Yelp
I had their Bun Bo Hue, the Spicy Noodle Soup Hue Style, featuring tender pork, beef, and that distinct Hue-style seasoning. And to take things up a notch, we indulged in the Bun Bo Hue Suon Bo, enriched with succulent 1lb Short Rib, which elevated the dish to new heights of deliciousness. The Egg Coffee was a revelation - a true Vietnamese gem! Creamy, rich, and irresistibly tasty, it's an absolute must-try. Don't forget to put yourself on their waitlist via the Yelp app. Despite the 40-minute drive and an additional 10-minute wait upon arrival, every moment of anticipation was completely justified. With their welcoming staff, inviting ambiance, and dishes bursting with flavor, Pho Ha Noi truly stands out.

Yelp
Nothing screams home sweet home than coming into a Vietnamese restaurant and being expected to order immediately after being seated. WHAT A NICE WELCOME! After hearing so much hype about this spot, I was so glad to finally be able to try it! But I felt the taste was a tad underwhelming, although service was great and we were checked in regularly. Our waiter did try to make conversation with us while we were waiting for our other party to arrive. The broth was on the blander side for me but the quantity of meat received in the bowl was great. The pho noodles were cooked well and it wasn't mushy or soggy. The ube coffee didn't have a WOW factor for me besides in the gradient appearance (the drink had the ube color but not flavor) and I felt the coffee wasn't that strong either.

Yelp
Perfect sastisfaction of a pho fixing! Pho Ha Noi seems to have quite the following around Vietnam Town and after this experience I'd say it's pretty well desesrved. They have a pretty effective service system in place and it works pretty great for throughput. This place has a serious line, so (yelp) waitlist highly advised after 11am. Seating is spaced out between indoors (multiple rooms!) and outdoors with a pretty simple and efficient decor. Clean, bright, and simple, though a few neat artwork pieces decorates big walls. Generally service is pretty efficient, with staff dashing in and out regularly. Food came out extremely fast with hardly a 10 minute wait before we got the appetizer and 5 more before the Pho came out. Even with the speed they had a few servers going around regularly for water refills and checking how things were going, so they seem to have the service beat down to a T. 2. Viet grilled pork sausage rolls - 4/5 Basically a spring rice roll with some sliced sausage. I definitely did not taste anything approaching "grilled", but it was quite fresh and crispy with some fried bits inside and a mild nutty dipping sauce. Works well as a light bite before digging in, but I'd prefer a bit more flavor to them. 10. Beef Combination Bowl - 5/5 Pho is deliciously hearty, but starts a little bland without adjustment sauces so make sure to use them (which they conveniently give to you in a small dish). Fresh basil and sprouts. Combination beef bowl is fantastic variety of cuts...*especially* the brisket; it's simply divine, plenty tender and flavorful. You get an option between Fresh and Skinny noodles so I tried out the former. They were silky soft, but did get a tad mushy towards the end of the bowl so I'll probably opt for the skinny next time to compare.

Yelp
We came to this place on a weekend and needed to wait quite a bit for a table. I ordered: - Chicken wings - Ha Noi combination rolls - Special combination beef pho The appetizers were amazing. I highly recommend the chicken wings. As for the pho, it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. Also, I ordered regular rice noodles, but it came with fresh noodles. We had already waited a while for the food so I didn't ask them to remake it. The noodles were very very soft. I'm not sure if they were supposed to be like that. However, it kind of ruined the experience. For the long wait time, I'm not sure if this place is completely worth it, but if you're in the area, give it a try! Remember to join the waitlist early.
google avatar

Minh-Uyen N.

Yelp
Pho Hanoi is a staple in San Jose. On the weekends, it's usually really busy so would recommend getting there early and putting your name on the waitlist. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The drink menu is pretty extensive, we got the Vietnamese coffee and it was just how I like it - strong. I got the Xoi Ga Hai Nam 1/2 (Hainenese Chicken and Sticky Rice) and the chicken had so much flavor. The sticky rice was a good addition, I really liked the texture. I've been to Pho Hanoi multiple times and this location in particular is a favorite because it sits in Little Saigon with a lot of other great Vietnamese restaurants. I enjoyed the ambiance and the service is always pretty quick.
google avatar

Rosita L.

Yelp
Amazing pho, the best shaking beef and really balanced flavor of tomato rice. The meat is truly tender for both pho and the mignon in bo luc lac. Me and my friends all loving our dishes despite having full stomach prior coming to this restaurant. Service was great as well, not so long waiting time and they brought the food really quickly as well. The restaurant was huge! It was crowded but doesn't get too loud or overcrowded. 10/10 will come back!
google avatar

Gerald L.

Yelp
Whoa! This place of really popular. If you don't get here at the right time, you may have to wait a bit. Good news is they have both inside and outside seating. Basic pho style format: waitress takes your order, a runner brings you food, and you pay up at the counter when you're done. The basic pho zines with was to many green onions but otherwise the noodles were the right texture and the soup tasted really good. Could've had a bit more meat. The beef stew pho was really, really good though. I don't know if it's that popular because I didn't see anyone side with it, plus it took a lot longer to come out. Comes with a couple nice baguette breads. I'm a little torn between three and four stars but I think the edge goes to the outside side.

Yelp
Came here on the way back from a road trip to SLO. I was quite paranoid about leaving anything in my car and took an embarrassing amount of items with me but we got seated quickly and in a booth where I could hide it. Super quick service and food, full restaurant even around 8pm. I got the small beef rib pho so it doesn't look as dramatic as the big one. My partner got the rare steak pho in large. So cheap for basically double portions. Lots of noodles, soup, and meat! I don't know if I would come back because it's far for me from foster city, but I would if I was closer. Very interesting spicy sauce mixed in with their oyster sauce. It wasn't sriracha and it was rather mango/orange looking. My partner said he would have preferred it separated so he didn't have to have it, but I liked it. With the sriracha shortage, it doesn't quite taste the same anyway.
google avatar

Yelp
They make FRESH thick noodles here! Great broth taste. Parking is rough so I suggest meandering into their new parking lot vs trying to struggle to park near it

Yelp
A friend told me about this place and suggest that we go here since apparently, it's the best pho in the Bay Area. IMO, I definitely don't think it's THE best but it's not the worst either. We ordered #10: Special Combination Beef Pho, one w/ fresh noodles and the other w/ regular pho noodles. FYI, fresh noodles is more flat and wider as opposed to the regular pho noodles. Personally, I wouldn't get the fresh one again because it just doesn't taste as good...maybe because I'm just used to eating the regular noodles like most pho restaurants serve. Couple of cons: they give you a small plate w/ sauces (diluted sriracha and hoisin sauce mixed together). They really should do something about this. Not everyone uses sriracha or hoisin, let alone mix it together. Also, the side of veggies doesn't come w/ any green peppers, so I literally had no spice or as much flavor as I would like in my bowl. Utensils were not thoroughly cleaned as I wiped off some black stuff and grease on the spoons. You can join their waitlist or check-in w/ their kiosk when you arrive. We went on a Friday afternoon, around 12:30pm-1pm so there was no wait time. It was cold and windy and was told "follow me" as they walked us off to the side. When I was confused and asked for clarification about where we're being seated w/o any prior notification and if heating lamps were going to be turned on, the nonchalant staff was like "you're sitting on the inside." WELL OK. YOU DIDN'T TELL US THAT, and instead walked us to the other side of the restaurant... Anyways, other than that hiccup, service by other employees were great. There was a guy, who was constantly cleaning and checking out customers, so efficiently that there was basically no time to waste. As soon as he saw that we were done, he immediately came over and we paid our bill. Where we were sitting, it can get quite loud. Spacious, but loud. No need to worry about parking. You can park anywhere. Tons of other convenience stores, boba shops, and dessert places nearby. You can take a stroll around the plaza, or walk on over to another mall (Grand Century) or a Walmart. Not sure if I would go back and wouldn't say it's the best. Definitely loaded up w/ tons of MSG because I was thirsty the majority of my meal and the small size cup of water provided by them wasn't sufficient.

Yelp
Pho places seldom blow me away but I do appreciate the usually quick service and flexibility to control the taste of your dish. This place was full, which I'm sure is normal for Sunday lunch, but we only waited for about 5-10 minutes. When we sat down the table was freshly wiped so I had to smell the watered down chemicals for a couple minutes, but at least I knew it was clean. The server came over fairly quickly and was patient as we tried to scramble to get our food order in as soon as possible. I was in a party of four, but for some reason the two pho dishes came out five minutes after the other dishes, and we waited about 10 minutes for the first wave. Overall the wait wasn't terrible at all, but I'm so used to pho coming out almost immediately this came as a shock. My large bowl (6/10) had a good amount of noodles but they seemed to have already started getting soggy when I started eating, which made me wonder if it was sitting at the window. My steak had good texture and was easy to bite through, but I couldn't say the same for the pork. The standard veggies came with the pho, but the sauces arrived in small sauce dishes and weren't quite enough for my liking. I didn't bother to ask for more since I was pretty hungry, and I do appreciate the effort to try and ensure people aren't being superfluous with their sauce usage. I ended my meal with a strawberry smoothie (9/10), which has become a standard for me at pho restaurants. Something about the strawberry flavoring just tastes so good to me, and I'm a frequent Jamba drinker for reference. Final bill was a bit more expensive than compared to Elk Grove where I live, but that's also to be expected from the Bay Area. Probably won't be coming again since I'm not in the area, but worth the one try to see if their bowls, or rice dishes, are pho you.

Yelp
Coworker raved about this place all the time so we decided to order food to go. We ordered beef noodles soup, bbq ribs with rice Hainan chicken with rice, vermicelli noodles with grilled meat, an order of nem nuong Cuon and goi cuon. I had the chicken Hainan chicken rice so only reviewing it. It was good but kimchi was salty and it was not sour at all. Overall, chicken was good and tender. The rice was flavored and the sauce is too sweet imo and the kimchi wasnot good. Will have to come back and try other things.

Yelp
Yummy and flavorful Pho at a reasonable price! Incredibly popular lunch location, especially on the weekends. It's safe to say that for a group in these circumstances, you probably won't be seated for at least half an hour. Also, if you have someone in your group who is handicapped, let the staff know and they will seat your party right away. I enjoyed the bone-in noodle soup. Very flavorful and lots of delicious toppings/add-ins. It was incredibly busy and crowded inside, so we felt some what of a rush to finish eating. Nonetheless, it was worth to enjoy a yummy bowl of authentic pho!!

Yelp
The pho here is amazing. The broth is very flavorful and they give you a generous amount of green onions, other garnishes, and meat. Indoor and outdoor seating available. They do have a Yelp wait list option available which is great for weekends.

Yelp
I can't believe I've lived in San Jose all my life and just tried Pho Ha Noi this Thanksgiving. It was popping on Thanksgiving, so I put my name down on the Yelp waitlist via the Yelp app, and we waited about 20-30 minutes. There are a bunch of sweet treats and businesses in Vietnam Town to kill some time. Pho Ha Noi is definitely the most well-known pho spot in San Jose, and the restaurant has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, which is perfect for groups. I had to get their popular Beef Rib Pho, which was tender and fell off the bone easily! I have never eaten pho with bone-in meat, so it was a bit tricky for me to eat. The portion filled me up and was worth the $18. We also got spring rolls, which were decent! I recommend this place if you are visiting SJ or with friends, but I won't be dying to return myself.

Yelp
I came early--- before the dinner onslaught. One of my favorite Viet haunts to patronize. Fast, clean, responsive servers ' and the menu is so vast. Always something for everyone at the table!

Yelp
It is a nice restaurant located in Little Vietnam. Very popular and crowded. The service is fast, efficient, and friendly. Phở Bò Đặc Biệt / Special Combination Beef Pho Rare flap meat, well-done, brisket, tendon, meatball, and short ribs (no bone) meat Pho. They asked what kind of noodles, I said fresh noodles (no extra charge). Served with beansprouts, holy basil, culantro, lemon wedge, and a dish of hoisin/sriracha. No jalapeño. The soup came out piping hot. The broth was good and flavorful. The noodles were good, but some were clumped together. No a big deal. Good mixture of different meats. Unfortunately, I was taking pictures and somewhat writing review so the soup cooked my raw meat quicker than I wanted - my fault. Overall, a good bowl of pho!

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Price: 5/5 One of our favorite pho places in San Jose! This place can get really packed during lunch or dinner but sometimes during the weekdays it can be fairly open for lunch. The staff are really nice and quick. If you order the pho bo, it comes out really really quick. They also don't keep the sauces on the table, they're prepoured into a bowl when they bring out your food. Once you're done, you walk up to the front to pay. We got the Pho Tai Dap w/ regular noodles & Pho Suon Bo w/ fresh noodles. The beef broth is so rich, flavorful, & hearty. It's just as good as a home cooked bowl of pho. The meat in both bowls were super tender and fall off bone for the short rib. The Chicken Egg Rolls were super crispy & fried to perfection with a yummy flavorful filling. The nuoc mam was really good too, tastes just like home. If you love egg rolls, you must try these.

Yelp
I love that they provide with outdoor seating. During lunch and dinner time, the place is crowded. Inside just full of bustling hostesses and hosts bringing foods along with all patrons and dinners talking and eating cheerfully. All the foods are delicious and cooked rightly.

Yelp
The pho ga is honestly why I am giving it 4 stars. It was actually one of my favs. Had it with fresh noodles as well. The regular pho was just okay. It honestly lacked flavor. Would come back for the pho ga.

Yelp
Learned about this place from YouTube, and I am happy that I was doing my taxes right around the corner from this spot. Got sat pretty quickly when I came in on a Saturday morning, but you can see the line building up after 1030am. I got the Beef Pho Rib - Large bowl because I was really hungry. I couldn't even finish the bowl; it was a lot of food. Save yourself the extra $2 and get the small and it will be just enough. Food came out quick, so I can't complain. I will come back next time I do my taxes.

Yelp
The food came out really fast, I was left speechless. Pho Ha Noi is like a warm hug for your belly on a rainy day. The noodles? Better than any water you could drink after being left on the brink of death from dehydration. The broth? So flavorful, it could charm the pants off a food critic. I ordered Hu Tieu and its better than your typical 7/11 slushy. Would come again

Yelp
I've heard such great things about this restaurant and I'm really glad that the time I experienced it, I got seated immediately and there was no wait time. The restaurant is decent sized but the seats are very close to each other. They also do not keep the sauces on the table. If you need Sriracha, Hoison, etc you need to ask the server. These are the food I ordered: Spring Rolls (5/5): What makes these spring rolls different from other places is the peanut sauce. I was surprised that it had a spice kick. It was great ! Probably the best peanut sauce I've ever tasted. Bun Bo Hue (4/5): This was pretty good. I loved the noodles, but I did feel like the broth was lacking. But overall, it was a good bowl of noodle soup and very satisfying. Note: it does not come with blood cubes

Yelp
Walk in during lunch hour. No wait. Plenty seating inside and outside. Service was quick. Friendly and helpful staff. I ordered the special pho and Vietnamese ice coffee. Big portion with flavorful broth. Coffee was strong with perfect amount of condense milk. I dislike the tight booth seatings.

Yelp
Solid pho spot and service was good! I'd recommend asking for the fresh (tuoi) noodles instead of the regular (thuong) noodles. Tried the thit nuong cuon this time and the rice paper is a little thick.

Yelp
Had a subpar experience today and it's making me second guess whether I really like this place. Nem Nướng Cuốn was really bland, maybe the most flavorless nem nướng that I've ever had. The peanut sauce had no peanut flavor, or any flavor at all really (except for those fresh chilis sliced on top). The phở was pretty mild as always, but this time my meat portion seemed pretty skimpy too. The meat is what makes the meal for me here, so I was pretty disappointed. I didn't finish my meal because I wasn't enjoying it.

Yelp
There are a lot of great pho spots here in San Jose, this stood out from one of the articles that I read. They are known for their North style pho (wide noodles, simple broth). Here was my experience. AMBIANCE: Parking: Plaza parking. Plenty of parking but this place can get busy. Seating: Inside and outside seating. This is a popular place with room for about 70 people. Good for both small and large groups. Vibes: Welcome to Little Saigon, you have a lot of choices for eating spots - pho, boba, banh mi, and more! This spot itself is nice. There's some homage to the country of Vietnam through the art and it's a little fancy with the chandelier decor. Great place for friends and family! FOOD: Fish Sauce Wings (Recommend) Delicious! Served fresh, the meat was juicy and the skin was crunchy. The seasoning of fish sauce gave it a nice pungent, earthy, and umami flavor. Pho #10 - Special Combination (Recommend) This order has it all - Flank steak, brisket, tendon, and meatball. The noodles were soft and comforting. Broth was simple and enjoyable. The portion was pretty heavy so come hungry. Green onions and additional touches gave it a natural refreshing flavor. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Nothing too flashy but attentive and quick service. TL; DR OVERALL: 4.5 Stars. Wonderful! Great choices, delicious food, and reasonable prices. More to try here so I will certainly comeback - especially seeing that beef. Their short rib bone marrow pho looks delicious. Until next time! TIPS: * https://sf.eater.com/maps/best-pho-san-jose-south-bay * Check out their other locations

Yelp
I think that this place is a great spot, with great selection. I think what makes this place popular is the menu and the bog piece of steak in the pho. The pho for me isn't that extraordinary, it wasn't super flavorful. I wish there were condiments on the table so i could tweak it to my liking. The service was nice though. They were attentive but i feel like they expect you to know what you want because we barely got 5mins with the menu before they came to or table to take the order. Since there was a lot of people waiting they try to have a fast turn around. We were seated pretty quickly i have to admit and i think it's because as soon as someone gets up they are already cleaning. I think the ambience is the typical busy pho shop. Very chaotic for the staff. People speeding past your table and fast food deliverance. I dont feel like this would be a good spot to sit and relax while eating pho. Im a person who gets anxiety seeing people rush so the atmosphere for me wasn't pleasant, i just wanted to finish and run out. Also you have to go up and pay because i think they want you to get from the table so they could clean it rather than bring you the check and go process it because your time at the table would be longer and it cuts into cleaning time.

Yelp
came on a sunday afternoon and thought there was gonna be a wait but it was not bad at all! there's a lot of seating both indoor and outside so it's really nice to sit out when the weather nice. i got the 14 and my friend got the 11 and the soup is my absolute favorite. they definitely pile on the green onion so if you're not a big fan, i suggest letting them know to go light on that or leave it out. i personally love the freshness they added to the pho and the meat was tender and great as well. the spring rolls were just okay for me personally (i'm not the biggest fan of cucumbers in my spring rolls) but the peanut sauce was nice with a little kick from the chilis.

Yelp
This restaurant is well-known for serving Northern-style pho, aka a warm bowl of simple clear broth and wider noodles. Not the kind of pho with thinner noodles your mom or grandma for you every weekend. They offer ample seating options both indoors and outdoors, making it great for gatherings. However, I found a few downsides. The noodles clumped together and the flap meats were too chewy for my taste. Also, there were just too many green onions floating on top of my pho, which didn't sit well with me. I was just not used to it! Their spring roll platter were disappointing and I could barely finish them. I do highly recommend trying their imperial crab rolls instead. Im biased because I like egg rolls and it was well worth the wait for me. While it's not my top choice, I've brought friends and family to try Northern-style pho and cross Pho Hanoi off their foodie bucket list. Each had mixed feelings; some prefer the Southern style pho, whereas a couple enjoyed the Northern pho. To each of their own I guess.

Yelp
Very deliscious pho. Ecspecially liked the sweet/spicy sauce they bring for you with the soup. They were out of the thicker noddles by the time we got there, around 8 pm on a Tuesday, and it was still pretty full, no wait for a table though. Parking was easy enough, my partner had a little trouble getting into the lot from the map but we got there eventually. This spot is in a Vietnamese market with a lot of other cool spots around. Service was a bit rushed for my taste but nonetheless efficient. I was not a fan of the busser dumping old soup into a giant bucket behind me and wheeling everyone's dirty dishes around. Luckily I was really hungry.

Yelp
Best pho in the Bay Area. Haven't missed anytime I've been craving Pho. Broth is always super hot and clear.

Yelp
First time here, and let me start and say that this place was massive. The place was packed, there was outdoor seating and a separate entrance to another part of the restaurant for more seating. I came with a friend and we went around 6:30 and there was a bit of a line. We put our names on the yelp waitlist and got seated in about 5 minutes. The waiter was attentive and friendly Tip: add your name on the yelp waitlist before coming if you're nearby or when you're close enough to add your name to avoid any wait as I hear this place gets very busy which I believe. Food: The pho broth was not as good as I thought it would be with all its accolades. The broth was more salty than beefy and I was hoping for a little more beefy and umami. My friend got the #17 short rib in bone pho and the bone instantly slid off, overall meat was very tender and tasty. I got the #10 pho special and it came with a good amount of meat (brisket, beef balls, tendon etc). We both got the fresh noodles. The veggies were fresh and the overall experience was good. We also ordered the roasted chicken with noodles. Noodles were good but make sure to mix it with the sauce to drench it with flavor. Roasted chicken was crispy. Would recommend getting this again

Yelp
One of my fav pho experiences ever. Got here super late after a photo shoot and man did it live up to all its hype. 5 star pho, 5 star service, 5 star ambiance not to mention that the beef short ribs were the best I have ever had!

Yelp
I was tired of having processed and packaged chicken broth around the city and decided to find a place that served the real thing with real chicken umami apart from our home kitchen. I'm stoked to find out that Pho Ha Noi does pho the right way. Their chicken thigh pho comes with standard bean sprouts, a lime wedge, and thai basil but also comes with juicy chicken thighs with skin on in a wholesome chicken broth, made in house. You can taste the real flavors from the first sip of the savory broth. I don't eat pork and beef, so finding the best chicken pho was very important to me this winter. Their cambodia style chicken noodles are a hit, too! Chicken wings are huge and delicious with a sweet and sour chili sauce coating. I'll say this though, the quanity of chicken in the pho was more when we visited the first time for lunch on a weekday versus when we visited again for lunch on sunday and that's something they should work on in terms of consistency otherwise they've got something really delicious and genuine cooking in their kitchen. Also, the service was much better on sunday. In fact, our server was the sweetest on our second visit when we sat outisde in the patio with heaters on. The heaters hit our faces and kept us warm, so you might consider eating hot food outdoors if they don't have a lot of seats vacant inside. We've thorougly enjoyed both our visits recently and will continue coming here for a big portion of their soulful chicken pho!

Yelp
Pho Ha Noi is great! Their pho is packed with flavor and an abundance of meats and noodles. The soup broth is aromatic and not too salty. Their combination pho is definitely one of the top three Pho I have had in my life. Their other dishes like the Hainanese chicken with rice are not up to standard with what you usually find in a Chinese restaurant. The chicken wasn't as moist and the rice wasn't too flavorful. If you visit this place, stick with the Vietnamese dishes as they are much better.

Yelp
Did this place live up to the hype? YESSSS. I am pretty picky with my pho... in order to impress me, a good bowl of pho must include: - clear, beefy and hearty broth but not too salty - broth not overpowered by spices esp cloves - fresh noodles - good ratio of meat, noodles, and herbs - piping hot so it burns my mouth And yes, this place had it all. I think this may be the best bowl of pho I've had in a long time.

Yelp
This is a very popular spot for pho but overall, just an average restaurant to get your pho cravings satisfied. We arrived during prime dinner hours on a weekend and it was a bit difficult to find parking. It's located in the back of a huge shopping plaza (it's in the middle of vietnam town in San Jose). The restaurant is fairly large with seating outside and inside. The waitlist can be long depending on which day of the week and what time you decide to eat there. We added ourself to the waitlist and just walked around as we wait for our table to be ready. We waited for almost an hour for an inside table for 5 people. It's not too bad given the restaurant was packed when we got there. We ordered the nem nuong cuon, the pork and shrimp spring rolls to share and each person ordered a bowl of pho. I got the rare USDA choice flap and oxtail pho. The rolls were all delicious and portion size was very generous. The pho, subjective to my preference, was average. There was a lot of green onions, probably 25% of my bowl. The flap meat was ok but the oxtail was very chewy. Maybe I ordered the wrong pho but I wasn't impressed. Even though it's a restaurant, it felt like we were eating at a street stall in vietnam. I would probably not bring a date here if you are trying to impress him/her. After you get the check, you have to walk up to the cashier in the front to pay. Not too big of a deal but does take away from the dining experience. If I do visit again, I'll try other dishes on their menu and probably will skip the pho in the future. The spring rolls and the nem nuong cuon is a must get though.
