Pho Ha Saigon - Review - South Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Pho Ha Saigon is a very large, very casual Vietnamese spot in South Philly right near the stadiums. They have everything from pho to vermicelli noodles topped with grilled meat and spring rolls, and most of the dishes are $10 or less. Come here if you’re nursing a bad hangover before a Flyers game, and it will get you back to at least 50% of your normal energy. That way you won’t pass out when you head into Wells Fargo Center and are bombarded with loud horns and booming voices saying “The Flyers are going on a PECO Powerplay.”" - Sydney McElwee

Where To Go After A Game While The Stadium Traffic Clears - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"A bunch of fans seem to have forgotten that we don’t live in biblical times and are throwing rocks at someone who isn’t wearing a Phillies jersey. He’s not even wearing Mets merch - he’s just not wearing red and blue, and that’s offended a large group of people who have now blocked off an entire parking lot entrance. Instead of sitting and waiting for someone to break it up, feel free to abandon your car in its place in line and head to Pho Ha Saigon for a calming bowl of pho or vermicelli noodles. Almost everything here is $10 or less and comes out within five minutes, so you’ll be able to get back to your car before anyone has even moved." - Sydney Mcelwee

I’ve been to this place before and usually enjoyed it, but today was really disappointing. I ordered a shrimp summer roll and a large Pho #21, and I found a dead fly in my pho. I barely ate it and completely lost my appetite. Even after showing them, they still charged me full price. At the very least, I shouldn’t have been charged for the pho. This was really upsetting and not what I expected from a place I used to trust. I’ve come here often whenever I crave pho. I truly hope they handle situations like this better in the future.

Ordered takeout. Number 21 & 63. Soup was amazing 🤩!!!! Great amounts of meat and suppeerrr tender with perfect amount of veggies. Service was super fast and the cashier/waiter was extremely friendly. Restaurant was very clean as well. Prices were extremely reasonable!! Definitely convenient being as though it shares the same building as the market. Will be the go to spot for pho moving forward 😁

Google
Came here for Pho but almost didn’t get it as there were other options on the menu that looked delicious. The broke rice dishes were quite tempting but I ended up going with the beef ball and rare steak pho. The broth was very flavorful and there was plenty of noodles. I wish there was more beef balls in the dish as it felt like 85% rare steak and not much beef ball

Google
When I encounter crappy service at an Asian establishment , I’m never surprised. They don’t go above and beyond to accommodate, especially when it’s basically ran by a bunch of dudes that sit around and stare. Anyway, the food was mediocre Vietnamese cuisine. Basically, whatever you get here is what you can get anywhere at a Vietnamese joint in South Philly. It is what it is. Average.Plenty of seats and plenty of potholes to park your car.

If you're in the mood for delicious pho and don't want to worry about parking, this restaurant is a great choice. While they tend to be quite busy on weekends, their lot always has ample parking, which sets them apart from other pho places in South Philly. We highly recommend their medium pho #20 and boneless lemongrass BBQ - both are personal favorites. Whether you're looking for a hangover cure, a comforting winter meal, or a warming soup to help fight off a fever, you really can't go wrong with pho! I came with my son and they even provided special scissor to cut the pho noodles into smaller pieces.

They using fish sauce not peanut sauce for goi cuon. The goi cuon wrapper is soggy. The fish sauce is too sweet for my taste. The pork chop look good.

Google
Great tasting Pho. Fast and quick service too. I sat down and ordered. Got our food in less than 5 mins. Plenty of tables and space. If you haven't had pho, there is variey of toppings. Can't go wrong with any of them. Choose what you like. The broth is where it is at and make sure a sip of it before digging into the noodles. I know in Vietnam they eat this even when it is hot but it definitely hits differently when you have pho on a cold winter day. Definitely worth coming back here again.

Google
Got a large pho and broken rice with pork chops. The soup was very good in the pho but the meat is probably not the best tho. The broken rice was good. Didn't expect the pork chop to be very saucy. Still good but different from expected

Yelp
Best pho place I've been to in Philly, and for sure top 5 in America tbh. It's clear cut- you get a solid amount of meat, rice noodles, and accompaniments, and it's inexpensively priced. Service is extremely quick, and they've got the motions down with seating, serving, and you pay when you're ready at the front. Plenty of seating, never a wait! I always get the Pho Dac Biet, because I love tripe and tendon. Other plus- I've asked if they add MSG to their broth- they said no! It's a synthetic additive commonly used at pho places to stimulate appetite and addiction. I've asked nearby pho places such as the one around the corner and they said they do use MSG in all their broths, and I consequentially left.

Yelp
A variety of items here. Parking is very good and glad it's next to boba. Will definitely be back and try more items.

Yelp
The service is excellent, everything is delightful, and the food is always delicious; I always order my favorite meatball soup.

Yelp
We have come here many times. Excellent Pho! Great service at great prices! Always clean inside plenty of room. Never a long exit. If you like Pho come here. Next to the Oregon Market. Plenty of parking and plenty of handicap parking

Yelp
This place is tucked away next to the supermarket with their side entrance. Nothing special inside but you're going there for their Pho. This place has amazing food. I ordered large special Pho rare beef and iced coffee. One taste and you'll be amazed. Probably one of the best pho around. Packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. I recommend trying them out if you're in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Although I'm not a fan of noodles, I can usually tolerate it. The Pho here was not tolerable at all. My family arrived in Philly and naturally, my dad wanted something familiar (he was also disappointed in his Pho). Our bowls took quite some time to arrive to our tables, which I always felt these places are pretty quick considering the main staple is Pho with whatever variation they have. Then, I stuck my chopsticks in and their noodles was still hard. The broth wasn't hot enough to soften them. As for taste, take the basic pho with beef and boil it with just water. Other tidbits, they forgot my drink. My mum's pork chop was smaller compared to other restaurants (this is her go-to). It's possible that we came too early, but we already found another spot for future visits.

Yelp
I've been coming here regularly for about a decade at this point. I usually get pork chops over rice in the summer and meat ball + brisket pho in the colder months. The cool and crisp pickled carrots and radish that come on the side with pork chop rice feel great in your mouth in the heat of summer. A bowl of pho broth will quickly warm up your mind, body, and soul when it is cold outside. It feels like the portions have gotten smaller since the onset of the pandemic. Or maybe I've just gotten fatter. Anyways, I have started ordering a side of spring rolls and a Diet Coke with each meal here. Great taste. Great service. I love this place

Yelp
Note: (1) DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Their systems do not work apparently so call if you really want to order (2) DO NOT recommend take out, eat in if possible as food tastes terrible from containers if you order soup (3) Plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. The restaurant itself is really spacious with lots of seating. Service could be better as waiter was rude. I ordered dinner on a weekday through their website for pickup. The email said that it will take approximately 20 minutes for my food to be ready. To my surprise, when I arrived to pick up my food 35-40 minutes later, the waitress looked at me like deer in headlights when I asked him if my order was ready. He said seven more minutes... at that moment, I knew that he was lying as my order was not even sent to the kitchen yet. I waited and waited another 15 minutes and my order was not ready. After asking again, the guy admitted that my order was not prepared and to order through the phone next time... I had ordered pho, pork chop rice dish and a beef vermacelli dish. The pho was gross! Did not like it at all as the broth just tasted salty. As for the summer rolls, they were seriously a joke as they give you two skinny and tiny rolls for $6. The pork chop rice dish was decent but the portion was small as I wasn't full even after eating it all. Beef Vermicelli was okay, nothing extraordinary. Overall, I won't be returning here as there are way better options around. The food quality was just not there for how much you are paying.

Yelp
Interesting to find this joint in a small shopping center where it shares its entrance with other stores and a supermarket. It seemed to look pretty authentic so was excited to give it a try. We ordered 2 orders of spring rolls which were OK. Definitely overpriced when it's $5.50 for 2 pieces. The large pho was actually quite large but we didn't like the brisket meat as it had a long ring of fat alongside the edges that all tangled together. It didn't look very appealing. Lastly, the pork chops were OK but thought the portion size is small and I didn't like the sauce they used to glaze the pork chop. I wish it was just plainly grilled. Overall, it's big and relatively clean but the flavors were a bit flat.

Yelp
One of my go to spots for quick Vietnamese since they serve both rice and noodle dishes. My son is a broken rice platter lover and my daughter would eat pho every day if she could. So the best place I know that has both that are decent is this place.

Dominic H.

Yelp
Good service, food was decent, pho was good but sister's rice was dry. Good ambience. Prices on the website are 2-3 dollars cheaper than what is actually there.

Yelp
Been coming here for many years and always order Com Suon (broken rice with grilled pork chops). This time when I went, I wanted to try something else so I order a big bowl of Pho. Tasted great! Meat was thinly sliced and tender. I also ordered spring rolls (one order comes with 2 spring rolls). Super crispy and delicious.

Yelp
Pretty darn good pho. One of my family's go to when they need their pho fix. Large place with multiple tables and indoor seating during covid. Menu consists of you r typical Vietnamese dishes like pho, vermicelli, brown rice pork chops and ribs. Usual drinks on the menu. Nice bathroom in the back. Entrance through the oriental market hall way. If you're interested in bubble tea or banh mi it's just down the hall from this place. Good for families and large parties. Get your groceries after, so convenient Free parking lot

Yelp
This is my favorite place for pho the best place ever in South Philly loves this place so much and your food and the staff are very nice. I would recommend this place 10/10

Yelp
Solid pho, very clean and meaty broth. Garnish was all super fresh too. Overall really solid experience.
google avatar

Andy L.

Yelp
Their Beef Pho is really good and the meat portion is a lot compare to a lot of other viet spot in Philly and NYC. Better than most pho in NYC! The soup is much less oily compared to others. Good flavors while having a clean tasting soup! Would come again!

Danasia J.

Yelp
They're racist I came in earlier today to be seated into their restaurant and enjoy a meal. As soon as me and my family walked in they eyed us and start saying things in their language, the cashier never asked me was I dinning in or taking my order to go. Once I got finished ordering my food I tried to go and have a seat and he said " oh I made your order to go " . Once I looked around the restaurant they only had their race of people sitting inside of the restaurant. When I walked back up to the register I thought they were going to take everything out the bad and serve it to me in a the same bowl everyone else had. But the man took my belongings to the back and had another man bring it out to me.. I will never go back to a place like that like ever

Yelp
This is my favorite Pho spot in Philly! Their pho Tai is delicious and the topping sizes are generous. Their to go packaging is also done really well. Sometimes I'll bring my own bowl, order pho to go, and go to a park and eat. Seriously tho, the broth here is really good!
google avatar

Fia M.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants for pho in Phila. Broth has complexity and depth. Meat and rice noodle are well proportioned. Simply delicious, overall excellent consistency. Staff is friendly and quick. Dinning room is clean with plenty of seating, would highly recommend to anyone that wants a decent bowl of pho.
google avatar

Yelp
Had some very good pho here! The broth was delicious without being very oily, the garnish was fresh, and the portion size was generous. Was very satisfied overall!
google avatar

Yelp
They are good but over priced. $5 more than other pho places. My friend and I had two pho's and few spring rolls, coffee, came to $50. No, don't think so.

Yelp
The food is good, but not great. The taste is pretty on par with the other local viet restaurants, so there isnt anything that separates it from them. However, the prices are significantly cheaper by $2-3 on each dish. And the location is part of a small (but dilapidated) shopping center, which includes a large parking lot. This is a godsend for South Philly. The reason for my low-rated review is for the service and the sanitation issues I witnessed. For my personal taste, I find that cheaper Asian restaurants tend to have poorer service. As such, we were constantly rushed throughout our meal even though half the restaurant was empty, we were never asked/given water, and even before we sat down, they asked if we were ready to order. I did not find anything about the experience enjoyable, and the food was not good enough to overcompensate their rating. Additionally, on several occasions, I saw staff handling money, sneezing into their hands, and of the like, and then handling or serving customers' food without washing their hands!!! Basic hygiene and sanitation was not practiced, and this was the final straw. Would I come back? Only if someone really wanted to. Maybe it was just a bad day? Unlikely.
google avatar

Retna S.

Yelp
If only I could give negative star for this review. I came in right after they are open to order summer rolls from the menu. I was told it took 15 minutes. While I was waiting I observed that the employees were doing meal preparation in the dining area which I don't think appropriate. One guy lit up incense for his beliefs right by the entrance door so I could smell the incense by the door. After 20 minutes wait I asked where my order was and I was told that they didn't make it that morning and gave my money back. That's the most horrible restaurant experience I've ever had. I would never go back again. It's very rude.

Yelp
This dude straight up pick his nose before handling food to a customer. Omg. Thank god he didn't serve my food. Thank you god for saving me. I was watching him, he was scratching his butt walking out the men's bathroom and then serve more food. Then he was pulling out a cart to clean the food off the table blew his nose, picked it some more. I'm disgusted. Considering it being one of my favorite restaurants it's sad to see they have an employee here that could be potentially hazardous because of his hygiene. I'm not too comfortable eating here anymore honestly, what if he preps my food I'm the kitchen. I'm so grossed out I want to throw up: Lastly.... he caught my attention because I'm a protective mom over my teenage daughter. Why are you loooking at her like a piece of meat. Let our family eat in peace. I should say something to him because she feels stalked and no 15 year old should have to feel like that eating with her family. This was one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, but this employee has got to go. I'm not coming back if he makes my baby feels uncomfortable on top of him being totally disgusting. And as I'm writing this, he just took a chopstick off the table to scratch his head with it‍ I don't not want to eat pho with lice in my food. No thank. No way. I pray I don't get dormancy poison tonight. Sigh not professional, unsafe, not good. Sad to see a good restaurant look bad over a dirtball
google avatar

Cindy H.

Yelp
My family and I have been here a lot of time. But this is the first time I ordered French ice coffee for our drink. Kind of expensive, what made me write this review because only 2/3 of a glass. Hope with this review they'll payor attention.
google avatar

Ivy T.

Yelp
I ate many many times in this place!! Probably this is our family favorite spot for Pho and Pork Chop. We always eat at least 1 time in 2 weeks, not suru why i didn't make any review for this place. I love their Pho, but my fave is Shrimp Pho with Chicken broth. Their grilled beef also worth to try. And fresh orange juice is so refreshing! My son's fave will always Durian Smoothie. Good food, good price. Good and quick service!
google avatar

Yelp
They have really good Banh Mi! I've tried all their banh mi and my favorite is "Grilled pork banh mi". Highly recommend to have it as a go-to lunch :)
google avatar

Yelp
Doesn't everyone think of pho when trying to decide what to have for breakfast at 9am?? Well, this is one of my favorite spots to eat... especially on a rainy day like today. I'm not the most skilled person with a pair of chopsticks, but that hasn't ever stopped me from having a bowl of pho here. Today I had the #1 with rare steak, well done flank, fat brisket, tendon and tripe.... Even though the large bowl only cost $1 more, save the buck... The medium is huge. Great broth with fresh sprouts and sliced jalepenos on the side. I also had an order of summer rolls which has to be the best that I've had, and a pot of tea... This meal will hold me over for a few months until I return. Service is fast and polite, the restaurant was renovated about a year ago, so it's bright and clean with a couple flat screen TVs always on.

Yelp
This is among the top Vietnamese food places in Philadelphia that I would recommend. As a Vietnamese person, I find their food to be quite good and nicely presented. I always recommend the broken rice dish with charbroiled pork or a bowl of vermicelli and pork with egg rolls. There are plenty of good dishes to try. Also the drinks are good, I like their avocado smoothie a lot. The place is simply decorated and clean. The service is friendly and fast, unless you go on weekends when it is super crowded. The location is also conveniently next to a supermarket, so nothing like food shopping and then eating a hot bowl of Pho (for you Pho lovers out there). Give it a try.
google avatar

Liz P.

Yelp
One of my personal favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Philadelphia. It's located in a tiny Vietnamese supermarket plaza on Oregon Ave. Parking is plentiful and there usually isn't a wait at the restaurant. The restaurant is always filled with workers ready to seat you, take your order, and get you outta there within a reasonable amount of time. Especially if you're ordering the pho, this soup comes out within minutes AND it's warm and delicious. As another reviewer mentioned, if you decide to order a rice dish or vermicelli (rice noodle bowl), expect to wait a bit longer.. and by waiting that means watching your friend(s) finish their whole bowl of pho while you sit and wonder where your food is. On the bright side, you know your rice/noodle dish is made fresh. I love their pork vermicelli (I get it with the egg roll), the marinade on the meat is SO tasty and is perfectly balanced with the noodles and lettuce in the bowl. Additionally, their summer roll and egg roll appetizers are great starters before digging into your main dish. At under $10 per entree, you can't go wrong with these filling meals. If you're feeling adventurous, try out the Vietnamese coffee or other beverage options!

Yelp
Good stuff, good stuff. Soup flavor is consistently good. Service is very in and out: just sit, order, eat and go. Average price. Very clean. Plenty of parking in lot where you don't have to fight ppl nor traffic in Chinatown. Located next to an Asian supermarket. I can see why my friend swears by this place. Beef pho, good Chicken pho, good Vermicelli, good Summer rolls, good Coffee, good Egg rolls, only thing that could use work
google avatar

Kalvin W.

Yelp
This place used to be good. Idk what happen the past few years. Their regular pho and even their chicken pho taste way too salty. It's like every time I came back here the food just get worse and worse. Top 3 things we here are the pork chop broken rice, pho and chicken pho. Even the pork chop broken rice doesn't good anymore. I can definitely find somewhere that's better. But I used to like it there a lot. I bought 2 pork chop broken rice that day too to go for my family. And they said the same thing. Definitely not worth coming here anymore. Price worth: 4/5 Food: 2/5 Service: 3/5 Atmosphere/vibe: 3/5
google avatar

Mandy M.

Yelp
Dined and ordered to go from here a couple of times. Great menu selection, reasonably priced (unlike other Vietnamese restaurants that overcharges on pho), and great services. My favorite is their bunbohue and pho dac Biet. The restaurant is located next to an asian supermarket so there is parking available. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some good authentic Vietnamese food in the south Philadelphia area!!

Yelp
Lots of people have been raving about this low-key Pho place, so I decided to stop by for lunch and give it a try. The restaurant is located in a small mall inside an even smaller shopping center. The place is definitely bustling at lunch hour. There are lots of people sitting down to eat, but they are well equipped to handle the lunch rush. I walked in and was immediately seated. They gave me a menu and I was totally overwhelmed about the amount of choices I was offered. I decided on #28 Pho Tai, Nam, Gau. Pho with rare steak, well done flank and fat brisket. The food came out in lighting speed. No more than 4-5 mins after I placed my order- I had a steaming hot bowl of Pho in front of me. **This is definitely a plus when considering somewhere to eat on lunch break** The Pho was good, not great in my opinion. Although. maybe I just picked the wrong combination of meats for my tastebuds. The well done flank was a tad dry, and the fat brisket was unedible. I pictured melt-in- your-mouth fatty, tender pieces of brisket. What I got was large, stringy, chewy gag-worthy fat pieces. I picked all of these out of my meal after attempting to chew and swallow the first piece. Even with the brisket fiasco, the bowl of Pho filled me up. It was warm and flavorful. One thing that bothered me was that there were no labels in english on the condiments on the table. I recognize that alot of Vietnamese eat here and they don't need them, but the rest of us who can't read vietnamese do! It would have been appeciated. One other helpful tip is that a minimum of $15 is required to use a credit card at this establishment.

Yelp
First time I went here I thought I'd never come back. But I did and I regret it. With so many options in Philly for Vietnamese fare, you need flair to stand out. This restaurant couldn't do that. I don't have good memories of their pho...so I thought why not give it another shot. Maybe they've changed their recipes or made improvements since I last came. Nope. But I made sure to order a few items so that I'm not reflecting on that one dish that one time I came. So here's what I got: their special pho dac biet, broken rice Combo, and rice with steamed chicken (Leg). A big reason why food declines in flavor is when shortcuts are taken to streamline. And I think that's what's the food tasted like. The pho failed in many dimensions. The soup was just bone broth and lacked any type of other seasonings. The protein was chewy and bland. The pho noodles were overcooked. Cue the bad flashbacks. The rice combo had mushy grilled pork (mushy, not tender), oversalted shredded pork (which was mostly pork skin), an overdone omelet...and their dipping sauce (nuoc cham) was very vinegary. Their steamed chicken dish (similar to Hainan chicken except eaten with a ginger dipping sauce instead of soy cause) is a specialty item that is supposed to make them stand out because it's not often found on menus at other Vietnamese restaurants. What I consider a successful dish is dependent on the tenderness of the chicken and the flavor of the dipping sauce. Sadly, Pho Ha Saigon did meet those conditions. Here's why their dish was so lackluster: the chicken was leathery meaning it was either overcooked or prepared ahead of time and their ginger sauce had texture and flavor issues (possibly due to using minced ginger instead of ginger julienne and their nuoc cham was not so good to start). Given that there are better options, I sadly won't be visiting again.

Yelp
Probably the worst Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. I'm only here visiting and decided to stop by seeing that they had pretty good reviews. Here's what we got. Fresh spring roll without shrimp. Spring rolls had no mint, overstuffed with soggy noodles and what looked like iceberg lettuce. Only a few slices of pork that was cooked to oblivion. Peanut sauce was overly salty too. My family Also got Hu Tien Nam Vang and Hu Tien My Tho, only real difference was the noodles, one had the glass noodles and the other regular rice noodles. Why even name it something different. Broth was bland and had a total of 2 shrimp, 2 liver slices, 3 fish balls, and 3-4 super thick slices of the over cooked pork. Yeah that wasn't good either. And the liver slices tasted like it was turning too. I got a large Pho w/ slices rare beef and fatty brisket with the beef on the side and extra beef and extra beef balls. I got 5 slices of fat brisket and the rare beef on the side with extra beef had maybe 10 slices total. All of it cut so thick that it chewy as hell. The broth was almost tan where a good pho broth should be a rich brown. Broth from a scale of 1-10 was a 2. And service? We just got sat down and one of the servers stood at the table already expecting us to order, we asked him to give us a few min. And within the next 2 min, 2 other servers came by asking for our orders. It's so uncomfortable to feel rushed while dining in any restaurant. And one of those guys was grumpy as heck. One last thing, on Yelp the hours are til 10pm. They turned off their open sign at 8:20pm. And said they close at 9pm. I've never see any business do that. Shows how much they really care about their customers. A party of 6 came in at 8:30 and was rushed to have their order taken. I'm in the restaurant industry, everything that Here was just bad. No courtesy or professionalism at all. Places like this restaurant are the reasons Vietnamese businesses get a bad rep. This will be the first and last time we come here to eat.

Yelp
First time coming here! I ordered the Chicken Pho, super good and fresh! I enjoyed the broth a lot! The sweet ginger sauce for the chicken was good as well. Food came out fast. Place was very spacious as well, easy to get to and located inside a plaza. I would come back again, my new go to pho spot for sure in Philly!

Yelp
My favorite pho spot! They're always consistent and the waiters are very friendly. Their NE location is also great. Give them a chance!
google avatar

Kera S.

Yelp
This place isn't as good as when they first opened. The pho broth has gotten much blander. The spring rolls are tasteless and the dipping sauce is bland, watered down tasting.

Yelp
It was so good! Perfect for brunch on a Sunday! Plenty of parking and right inside the Vietnamese market too. Staff is friendly and food came out quickly!

Yelp
The parking lot is riddled with land mines in the shape of long neglected pot holes and abandoned vehicles. Separating the parking lot from what looks like a near deserted indoor mini mall are two doors that have seen better days. Have no fear. Proceed through said doorway and you will see the hustle bustle of a thriving restaurant unfold before you. The entrance to the restaurant is inside the mini market. Once you open their doors your nostrils will be permeated with the smell of stock and spices. Don't worry. When you leave this delightful aura will have imbedded itself into your clothing fibers and you will waft of scent oh Vietnamese delight until you change. Broth is king. Every well honed soup monger puts their stamp on their offerings. There is a delicate richness to the offerings here and this is what makes the Pho here, in my most humble of phopinions, one of if not the best that I have had. Rich yet balanced, do slurpworthy! Their chicken pho however is hands on the best of anywhere that I have had in any city that I have been to. Go get some.

Yelp
I'm a fan of their grilled pork and spring roll on rice. I appreciate that it's boneless but still yet so tender, well seasoned and mildly smoky. It's presented pretty well with components placed separately on the plate. The rice dishes, however, did come a bit later than the pho so a few of us had to wait while others started on their noodles. Big enough to accommodate a huge group of us, the space left enough breathing room for it to be comfortable. I don't recall the time I came for their pho that well but I remember it being quite decent too. This is probably one of my favorites in Philly so far!

Yelp
Pho Ha Saigon is located in an as yet not redeveloped part of South Philly on Oregon Avenue. It is part of a small strip commercial center attached to the old Oregon Market. This location is a satellite of the primary Vietnamese area on Washington Avenue, and it was a smart move to get to this place before the big money arrived to gentrify the neighborhood. The house itself is very similar to most of the other Vietnamese kitchens, in that it has a large floor plan with basic amenities; designed more like a cafeteria than a comfortable hang around restaurant. Tables and chairs are utilitarian and are appropriate for the speed service provided by the friendly staff. The menu covers a broad cross section of VN cuisine, from Pho and Bun to Vermicelli and Broken Rice dishes. Prices are reasonable in light of the probable rent on the property. It is easy to get completely stuffed for less than $10. While I normally start an exploration of a new Vietnamese house with a bowl of Pho, I broke out of the mold by ordering Broken Rice with Grilled Chicken for a lunch entre, and an app of Summer Rolls. My companion went with a Vermicelli plate that included a sampling of Shrimp, Pork, Beef, Tofu, and a Fried Spring Roll. Everything was good, but the most memorable pieces of our meals were the Grilled Pork and Shrimp, and the Spring Roll. They were tasty and brought smiles to our faces. The rest was decent, but no better than the fare offered by most other shops. I found the butterflied Chicken Thigh to be a touch under marinated and undercooked. Thus, the skin and thicker aspects of the meat were not right for consumption. A few more minutes on the grill would have solved this. Copious squirts of Sriracha and Hoisin helped. I will come back to try the soups which have received praise.

Yelp
SOOOOO GOOOOD!!!!! Just moved to the neighborhood and was terribly hungry. Tried this place, got the 20 + 21 (house special .. you know, the Pho with EVERYTHING, the 20 is well done, the 21 is pink). The portions were HUGE! And both meals came to less than 20 bucks. The flavors were rich. I am sensitive to MSG and had no reaction so if they use it they use it sparingly. The young cashier was very helpful and eager to please. The food came out quickly but not so quickly I had to worry about preparation. It was clean ... not very clean but floor were sparkling, lights dusted, tiles scrubbed which to me indicates good things about the kitchen. I think 5 stars might be a bit much honestly but a heavy potion of Pho for an affordable price that isn't jacked up with artificial flavors has become sooooo rare. Thank you for being the first place I tried in my new neighborhood

Yelp
I come here almost every Saturday after the gym. Even though they're always packed, the service is fast. The staff are very nice. Majority of the entrées are really good. I normally get the Hai Nam chicken platter or their pho. My wife always gets there pork chop platter. The downside about the Hai Nam chicken is that they only give 4-5 pieces or like a quarter of a chicken. That's not much meat for someone who is close to 200 lbs (need to lose more weight but I'm bulking though). The prices are cheap. Besides the little bit of Hai Nam chicken and rice platter, portions for the other dishes (like the pork chop or grilled chicken platter) are good and similar to other pho restaurants in the area. There are no issues with parking because it's in a plaza so there's a huge parking lot, shared with the Oregon supermarket next door.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to get Pho. Our regular spot didn't open until 4. So google.... and we came across this one which was a few blocks way from us. The service was great, the Pho was really good. Normally I get extra noodles at our other place. So I did the same here-did not need to do it-they give you more than enough. It's a nice size space, so we were socially distanced. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Road Trip!!! So my girlfriend and I decided to take a road trip to what we saw as 1 of thee best vietnamese restaurants in the tri-state area. Yes! This place lives up to the stars they have been awarded. We almost stopped at Tony Luke's :0 but keep going to feed our endless curiosity of pho ha saigon. We found it quite easily and we came all the way from Warminster, Pa. It is attached to a mall so look for giant lettering on top. We will go back and want to try the hoagies. YUM!!! PROS: Amazing pho and spring rolls and yes the tea was plentiful and best of all...FREE!!! Waiters are friendly, kind and made sure our water was full, tea was hot and yes the pho was HOT!!! Place was clean , nice TVs and shrine and incense was nice also. I also want to say their bathrooms are soooo clean. My girlfriend said the same thing. Amazing bathrooms, be sure to check them out. :) The price is amazing for what you get and the staff is very kind. Did I mention the candy is yummy also? CONS: Really the only con is I wish they were a stand-alone restaurant and closer to Bucks County but it was a nice ride, easy to get to from 95 or if you want to come down Broad also. CONCLUSION: A great vietnamese restaurant with great food amazing service and bathroom floors you could eat off of. :) Have some pho in an authentic vietnamese restaurant, enjoy the spacious seating and enjoy some hot pho at a great price.
