Best Vietnamese and Pho Restaurants in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"Located in an unassuming retail strip along Pat Mell Road in Marietta, come to Pho Hoang Long for the pho. The restaurant also offers a variety of Thai dishes on its menu and often includes daily specials on a chalkboard in the dining room. The service is very friendly here, but it can be slow, as this is a family-owned and -operated establishment. Pho Hoang Long also includes a small Vietnamese grocery." - Eater Staff

As with other reviews I mention I travel a lot for work. All over the country. I've eaten pho in at least 23 states. I would put this in the top 5 out of probably 100 plus vietnamese restaurants I have been. Too the staff was very nice. The food was great. I had the egg rolls and beef pho and the broth was great. That's always the trick.

Google
This Pho restaurant is well loved, I can tell it’s been around a long time. It was packed and people were coming in the whole time we were dining to get pick up orders and rightfully so. The veggie pho and tofu rolls were good. The customer service was great.

I have eaten here several times over the past few years. The food is always tasty and hits the spot. The staff is attentive and polite. The price is average for pho.

Google
Hands down one of the best pho spots I’ve been to! The broth was rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care and not too salty, just perfectly balanced. The noodles were fresh and the meat was super tender (I had the P9!). The service was fast and friendly, and the restaurant had a cozy, welcoming vibe. You can tell this place takes pride in what they serve. Whether you're a pho lover or just trying it for the first time, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
I have been coming here for years since my children were little. The Pho is chock full of meat with a healthy amount of fresh basil and bean sprouts to supplement the fantastic broth. The spring rolls are outstanding full of shrimp and grilled pork. The service is outstanding , run by two brothers although they must have some help in the back to be able to accommodate the customers. Most impressively, the diversity of the clientele is so impressive. On any given day, you can hear a variety of languages, young and old folks, Indian, Hispanic, Vietnamese. I dont need to go to Buford Highway or Duluth to eat authentic Vietnamese cuisine. This place makes me want to go to Vietnam to have an authentic culinary and cultural experience.

Google
Been coming here years. The flavor of the Pho broth is delicious. Fresh noodles and great portions on the meat. (Brisket and Meatball - drool worthy) . When you can see the beads of fatty goodness on top of the Broth you know you found the right spot Mom and Pop style. Please dont ever water it down!!! Yall are Top Tier. The service is awesome too. The guys running this spot are kind and keep things going at a good pace. Its hard finding good Pho in Atlanta/Marietta.This is the place to be my friend! Also love the little guys in the Aquarium Tanks

Google
This place is an absolute gem! It’s my sister’s and I’s go-to spot every time, and each visit is just as delicious as the last. The broth is flavorful, the noodles are fresh, and the toppings are fresh too. They even give you a generous portion. Everything is reasonably priced as well. About two weeks ago, I placed an order for B7 and requested no bean sprouts. However, when I returned home and opened the plate, I was pleasantly surprised to find bean sprouts. Initially, I thought it wasn’t a significant issue and decided to overlook it. Nevertheless, I was delighted to discover that I had received an unprompted refund. It made my day to see my favorite restaurant genuinely care and not simply ignore their mistake. Thank you!

Google
The absolute BEST pho on this side of Atlanta! Perfectly savory and delicious broth with depth. Chewy noodles, fresh herbs, tender steak. So damn good! Also — the spring rolls are unlike any we’ve ever had and so awesome. Love this place.

Yelp
This place is great! Don't let the strip mall area scare you. The Pho and fried egg rolls were very good! The value for the money was great. I got a medium bowl and I could had a small and it would have been enough. The service was great as well. I will be back. Superb!!

Yelp
My steak and flank pho had chewy ligament that I could not swallow. I guess some may enjoy that but I definitely do not. The Thai dumplings were good and so was the broth in the pho. Service was not great. Our waiter seemed confused with any questions we had about the menu and never came to check on us after the food was brought. I honestly do think the food here might be very tasty but I do not feel like coming back because of the service. The menu has a lot of options to choose from and the prices seem pretty reasonable to me. Side note: Parents with children under the age of 5... Please do not let your kids run around screaming for minutes on end. When I was a kid my parents used to take me out to the car till I was under control so I would not ruin everyone else's dinner after a long day of work.

Yelp
Not sure how the food is because when we went there the worker said it's take out only even though the hours on Yelp said open and they had open sign. Might want to specify somewhere that certain hours are take out only so people don't drive out there like we did and have to leave.

Yelp
Food was good. Ordered the Pho and Spring rolls. Standard Vietnamese food. Mom and Pop resturant.
google avatar

Yelp
Inordered it via Uber Eats and o was impressed that the broth was still steaming hot. Portions are very generous with plenty of toppings. This was enough for 2 meals

Paige H.

Yelp
Delicious! Went over the weekend. The best Pho in town! Great owners and service too! Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is always fresh and dependable. Meaning, it doesn't change from quality and quantity. The restaurant itself isn't the most attractive and the service can take long because the food is made to order. The servers are also nice, but can be inattentive due to it only being one person taking care of the dine in and take out orders.
google avatar

Bailey H.

Yelp
This is a go to place for Vietnamese food! Really good authentic food. Pho broth tasty. They have the best spring roll. Fish cake is also good. Place is clean and great, efficient service. I can't wait to go back.
google avatar

Kris B.

Yelp
Excellent Pho for an incredibly low price. It's not a fancy spot, but the price is excellent and the portions are large. Service was very good as well. Only thing to keep in mind is that they only take cash, venmo or cash app as of writing. If that's what is keeping the price this low then I'm totally cool with that. Will be back!

Yelp
My husband and I moved to Cobb county and we hadn't found great Pho, until we found this gem! It is an older plaza with other Ethnic restaurants, with plenty of parking. The restaurant was casual and very clean. They have two massive saltwater aquariums that are very well taken care of, very pretty to look at. Every time I start to feel a cold coming on, I run to get pho.Sure enough, I feel so much better today! You're able to choose between three different sizes of pho, all very well priced. The broth was fantastic. So good that I forgot to take pictures of the chicken Pho I ordered. The restaurant is Thai and Vietnamese. We ordered the Thai steam dumplings and they were fantastic as well. The restaurant has been around for about 20 years, the service was great as well. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
The sign on the building, the door, and the internet say they are open from lunch through dinner. I showed up at 5:30 for dinner and they turned me away because they will only do takeout before 6. They were cooking food and open but told me to leave unless I was there for takeout. The food is fine, but not worth being treated poorly. Go to one of the other pho places nearby instead.

Yelp
Great and delicious shrimp pho! Definitely recommend this place! Willing to take the drive even though it's not near me.

Yelp
I wanted to update my review (after getting takeout from here another 5+ times!) to say that this is 100% our place for Vietnamese. I don't even need to consider anywhere else in Cobb County, but Pho Hoang Long has delivered us consistently excellent Vietnamese food every time we've ordered. Bonus: the guy usually running the phone and checkout is really chill and friendly. Want a sweet story? I spent a vacation away from home for a week while my husband stayed with his parents. My husband knew I'd have a helluvah flight + a rideshare trip back home. He ordered me some beef pho from Pho Hoang Long via ubereats for me so that he could take care of me while we were still apart. If that's not love, what is? I really enjoy their pho (which is excellent) because it hits the spot when I'm feeling sick and like I need to be gentle with my body AND when I want something that feels upscale and elevated. My husband and I also often get the vermicelli / rice dishes that come with shrimp / pork. Can't go wrong with this food!

Yelp
This place was a hole in the wall, but found it!! the food was delicious! Service was good. It wasn't open when we got there. We had to wait 10 minutes but went to the Latino market next to it and shopped for some herbal.

Yelp
Pho Hoang Long is a Vietnamese staple. Family run, it has been up and respected for a long time. It has been one of my family's go to spots for authentic Vietnamese food for over 10 years. While the area it's located in is kind of sketchy, Hoang Long sits right in the middle with a somewhat small entrance. There is the typical fish tanks and there even used to be a grocery store connected to the restaurant. Food at Pho Hoang Long never disappoints, namely their pho. Their brisket is extremely flavorful and they usually give generous portions of meat. Their broth is also flavorful and sometimes I don't even need to add hoisin sauce. As for service, there has never been any difficulties. The two brothers are usually spot on and willing to help. Definitely a must-try for those who are looking for authentic Vietnamese gems.

Yelp
Great selection of Vietnamese and Thai dishes. The biggest bowl of Pho you have ever seen. Your choice of protein with authentic broth and noodles. All of the accompanying embellishments that you need. Fresh, fresh, fresh!

Yelp
Definitely my go to pho spot in Smyrna. I've been enjoying the pho for over 3 years. This was my go to spot before I quit drinking. I would always get a pho with everything to help the veisalgia those crazy morning when you have those death headaches and experience various unpleasant physiological and psychological effects. This would help my mind, body and soul. Now I enjoy the pho here for those days when I feel those ill elements of a cold or the influencia or just wanna boost my immune. Most of all these is subjective, but makes me happy.

Yelp
Absolutely the best Pho in the area (everything on the menu is amazing). I don't waste my time going anywhere else. Portions are great for the price. Food always tastes perfect. I've never ordered it for delivery so I put it in a pot to make sure the broth was nice and hot before I added my ingredients like I do at the restaurant.

Mariah V.

Yelp
I got my food delivered! let me just say they did not disappoint. I ordered the seafood pho and a milk tea! Coconut with boba to be exact! Luckily I have chopsticks here with me though! I don't know how the service is. I'll have to go in to check it out! Thank you Pho Hoang Long for cooking dinner for me tonight while I've been under the weather.

Yelp
Winter months, taste for Pho. if you want the best in West Side Cobb you would want to pay this place a visit. Pho Hoang Long is a staple in this community and have been here for years! It been owned by the small family so there are no disruption in consistency and expectation. you can tell when you first walk they have some good food inside. There is a lot of space inside and it looked like some of the table and chairs were removed. I didn't ask any questions. Just went straight for the QR menu connection and placed my order. While the restaurant was not crowded on this Wednesday early evening they had a lot of to go orders in rotation. Once i placed my order the waiter said that I could wait in the car and he would bring it to me. I did that. It gave me the chance to read more Yelp reviews about the place and feel good about this being my "first timer" - did a basic order of Pho and asked the waiter what sizes do they come in, His response was on to go orders we only do large. I'm like cool - he comes out to the car and hands me a bag that looked like it weighed 20lb. I took the bag and gave thanks. I liked the fact that they used styrofoam containers for the soup! Makes a difference with heat but also the sturdiness of the container. By the time I made it home it was still hot to taste. When I cracked open the first box could not believe that for as much as it weighed it had that much food inside. One large to go is a perfect amount for 2 people. There are many other things to try and the reading got more intense for the menu -n I look forward to the next time to simply dine in and enjoy my time in their space. The location near Pat Mell is busy, a combination of homes and small businesses mostly restaurants and shops. It is a community driven area so you get a little built of everything and everybody over here. It has a sense of pride and attitude wrapped into a tortilla or steamy bowl of broth. Come out and enjoy your time,

Yelp
We visited Pho Hoang Long on a Wednesday evening and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner! The restaurant is more of a hole-in-the wall space, but pretty traditional. All tables were adorned with the required fixings including hoisin sauce, sriracha, chili paste, etc. There were only a couple of other tables, so we were seated and served promptly and regularly. As far as the food goes, we ordered the Chicken Satay appetizer, Combination Pho, and Rare Steak and Brisket Pho. We also had a mango milk tea with lychee jelly. The Chicken Satay skewers were delicious--a bit of char with a nice curry flavor. The chicken was cooked well and not dry. The pho was great, and excellent value! The broth was delicious, and they did not skimp on the meat. A size large cost about $12, and is enough for two hearty meals. The milk tea was just OK--it was not very cold, and it was too sweet for my taste (although it was pretty good once I watered it down and added some more ice). It tasted primarily of mango nectar. Overall, Pho Hoang Long is a great place for some traditional pho at a great price! We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Website said open with posted hours of operation 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM. I arrive at 5:00 PM. We were told that they didn't open until 6:00PM however the doors were unlocked and there were several patrons eating. Drove out of my way to eat there but will never go back. I have eaten there in the past but never again.

Yelp
This is my go to pho place. It is best to call in and place your order. The only thing is when you need to check out they ask for you to pay by Cashapp. It would be nice if they have a credit card machine that they could bring out to the car. Daniel is always friendly and helpful. I typically order the food Togo and the soup broth is piping hot when I get home. I also like the flavor on their shrimp, they actually char them a little which add a little different flavor to your shrimp pho. I usually order the chicken or shrimp pho.
google avatar

Akilah A.

Yelp
If you're craving pho - definitely give this place a try! They delivered exactly what was expected with all the toppings in an abundance. We visited several times and the service is quick and accurate. I'm never impressed with the other items - hence the 4 star rating. I tend to want a side or two to go with the pho but everything I've tried has not been pho-nomenal lol it was either a little overcooked or stale tasting. I'll be back but plan on sticking with pho and some Thai tea!
google avatar

Yelp
Important point. When this place offers Thai Hot or Medium spice, the food comes out Thai Hot. This is not good as it can harm a customer. The kitchen needs to know the difference...!!!

Yelp
Great food! Amazing experience I loved it. I did carry out and had to get large because of it but it was great just couldn't finish it all.
google avatar

Yelp
I am a Vietnamese food junkie. And this place ranks up at the top. It does not look like much from the outside but the food is outstanding. The fresh spring rolls are probably the best in Atlanta. The pho is great. If you like Vietnamese food you must visit.

Allyson M.

Yelp
Great food and great price! I used to go to Pho 24, but their prices went up and amount decreased so this is my new place!!!!
google avatar

Mary Margaret B.

Yelp
I never knew this place existed. Jokes on me because this was the best pho I've had in Atlanta. Hands down. Our usual spot for this side of town was closed -and I wasn't that upset but still craving a hot bowl of Pho. Yelp never lets me down- it was only another mile and a half away. We ordered Spring rolls (the rice paper ones with pork and shrimp - and they too were the best ones I've ever had. The pork was charred and hot and the noodles were soft. I could just eat 3 plates of spring rolls and be soooo happy We got Pho Tai (rare steak) with all the meat on the side + extra meat. The toppings plate was piled high with bean sprouts, extra lime (YAS!) jalapeños, Thai basil and culantro. The broth is flavorful and nearly clear in color. Just enough oil beads dance on top, noodles were perfect. Chewy and delicious. The side of meat was a generous portion, and the pho was so, so delicious. Thanks a lot- ugh. I've been ruined! I don't think I'll be able to eat pho anywhere else ever again.

Yelp
Great authentic food done with passion, flavor and dedication to its customers. A must for Asian Cuisine

Yelp
Best Pho in the area. They only do takeout. Truly a family owned place. Good people great food

Jose E.

Yelp
Ambiance was really off the host is always treating Hispanics in a rude manor. Food was was okay.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years. The food is excellent. The service is great as well. I love the fresh spring rolls, thai fried rice, pho and etc. You can't go wrong with any meal in this place.

Yelp
Pho. Good pho. Just really good pho. Skip the big name joints in Kennesaw and come here instead. It's a small shop, hole in the wall sort of place; every time we make the drive down to Marietta for their pho we are pleasantly reminded how warm and delightful the pho is here. The flavor profile of the broth is spot on. Hubs had Steak Pho, kids and I had Shrimp Pho, and we shared the A4 Spring rolls (shrimp and pork). It was da***d good my husband says. Kids say they liked the noodles and how the shrimp tastes. Service was appropriate, end of the lunch rush, server was thoughtful enough to ask us to have the kids take a seat just before he brought out the soup bowls. (There are 2 huge salt water fish aquariums in the shop which offer great views!) All in all, we will be back!!
google avatar

Omar F.

Yelp
Ordered our food to go once we got there and it took no longer than 20 minutes to order and be back on our way home. Not to mention we waited in our car and the gentleman brought our food to us once it was ready. Food was to die for. Get A4. Spring Rolls! Always a must!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite pho place to eat in Cobb. The food is very authentic. It actually reminds me of my mothers cooking. I enjoy their eggrolls, pho, com, and bun dishes. Glad I found a place nearby!

Natasha S.

Yelp
Simply delicious, AUTHENTIC, family ran, hole in the wall Vietnamese food! Friendly staff!
google avatar

Bianca C.

Yelp
I had the pork vermicelli bowl and Vietnamese coffee. They're a solid choice if you're nowhere near BuHi. The pork kind of left a weird after taste in my mouth that I've never had after eating this dish. It did come with a good amount of pork though. Service was typical. The general smell of the restaurant was a little off putting.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
This is one of my go to spots when I'm on this side of town working at Dobbins. A friend introduced me to this delicious spot. I always go for the spicy chicken fried rice. I always get the medium hot, but you can definitely feel the heat from it. Don't let the word medium fool you & I'm a lover of spicy food. Explore the menu, they have numerous options that my coworkers enjoy.

Yelp
Vietnamese and Thai fare off South Cobb. - Ambiance is a hole in the wall. It's located in a sketchy strip-mall and connected to an Asian convenience grocery store. They left the door open on the grocery side so there were some flies flying about. Resto had ~16 -20 tables. + Food-wise, they offer both Vietnamese (pho and bun) and Thai (soups and mains) and specialty beverages. Additionally, they have posted specials on a big chalk board until they run out. I tried Pho Tai Gau (rare steak and brisket). Their broth and noodles were good. But I found their meat to be fattier and chewier than some restos. Veggies were fresh though. Their portion was generous and pho was typical of what I get in Gwinnet and BuHi. = Service was just one man who was catch-all, host, waiter and cashier. He was friendly but spread a little thin. = Price is slightly higher than BuHi but it's not unusual for Cobb. Definitely can't be b/c of the rent though. = Parking is free but watch out for the pot holes. Overall, PHL pho was just fine but this place just didn't feel clean. MY RATINGS - - - Inhumane - - Disgusted - Don't bother = Missed the Mark + Good ++ Better +++ Edible...where have you been all my life!!
google avatar

Queenie D.

Yelp
Second time in a row where I ordered food in advance for pick up, and they seem to not cook the food until you're there to pick it up. They even gave us a time on when the food will be ready at both times. The first time was forgivable, but on the second time, we got a newborn in the car - having to sit and wait for them has caused so much issue upon pick up and this being the second time, I have to consider that this is just the norm for this business. So all in all - The staff needs to be more considerate when people call in for pick up. Due to this, I will not return nor can I recommend this place to other. I simply can't continue to support a business that is inconsiderate of other people's time.
google avatar

Yelp
First time ordering from this restaurant. My family enjoys their food so I thought I would give it a try! I am vegan so I ordered Dinner Vegetables with a mild basil sauce. I was quickly disappointed with the portion size. This looks like a snack portion. I ate this and was hungry within 15 minutes. The flavor was good but the portion size was horrible for a dinner portion. Will not be coming back .
google avatar

Shon I.

Yelp
This is by far the BEST Pho in the area!! You may think others are good, but not until you come here. DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER!! I have recommended so many people and they go several times a month. The beef salad is one of my favorites. The Pho nice and flavorful also. Don't say I didn't tell you.

Nathan M.

Yelp
If you are interested in the real taste of Vietnam than Pho Hoang Long will take you there without the jet lag. Was recently in many city's in Vietnam including Hanoi (personal favorite). Something as simple as a spring role can be good but add the charcoal grilled pork and you have a masterpiece in flavor, texture and presentation.

Yelp
Super good pho! The place aint fancy but it serves some great food. We go for lunch at least once a week and we've learned to get there before noon....it gets crowded after 12 and the limited staff (a mama and her son) gets overwhelmed fast.
google avatar

Scarlett F.

Yelp
This is really a secret Jeweled place. All the years I've been living in Smyrna, I did not know this place existed. I had a craving for some chicken satay and was going to take the drive downtown to a place, but instead I decided to search for somewhere local. Just so happen, I chose this place and thank God I did! I actually did a call in order for the chicken satay which was only $4.95. As soon as I walked in, I only waited for about 3 minutes and my food came out. The ambiance felt great and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. They even had a really cool fish tank in the middle of the wall

Yelp
My husband was craving pho and we didn't feel like hiking all the way to our preferred places on Buford Highway, so we settled on this place. This is actually our second time here and while the first time wasn't all that spectacular (which was confirmed by this visit), my rating for this place has to do with its location and quality in relation to other Vietnamese places in the area. If I was comparing this place to my go-to spots on Buford HIghway, this place would drop down to 2.5 stars. With that said, this place is pretty good for the location. We arrived at around 11:30am on a Sunday, and this place only had one seated table of two. We got seated right away with the menus and were promptly served ice water. We ordered the egg rolls (A1 - cha gio) for appetizer, an XL sized bowl of pho tai nam gan (P10 - pho with rare steak, flank & tendon) for my hubby, and Bun bo hue (D1 - spicy noodle soup with pork belly shank meat and pork hock) for me. The food all arrived shortly after we ordered, which makes sense because one 2 more small tables came in after us while we were there. The egg rolls ($3.95) came out piping hot. They were cut in half to let out the steam, which I appreciated. However, I noticed after biting into them that there were no carrots nor noodles that mentioned in the descriptions, just lumps of pork in a crispy wrap. They were OK dipped in the fish sauce that came with them but I would've liked there to be a bit more flavor and different texture elements. A few pieces of pork looked pink still so we stopped eating them. I definitely won't be ordering these again. The beef pho ($8.45) was pretty good according to the hubs. It was also HUGE, definitely lived up to its name. He had to take some home after devouring a good portion of it. My Bun Bo Hue ($8.95) was very flavorful. However, there were no pork hocks to be seen, and they kinda skimped on the noodles too. I recalled both of these being let downs from my first visit, but alas, the heart (errr stomach) wants what it wants. I decided to order a side of extra noodles, which was portioned about 2x the original amount...go figure! I think they charged me around $3? Totally worth it because I would've left hungry otherwise. Instead, I had enough noodles and broth to take home for a light meal later.

Yelp
*My all-time favorite hole-in-the-wall pho restaurant in Smyrna* My wife and I love this place. I've tried everything from the pho to the rice dishes. You seriously cannot go wrong with anything here. Though, my wife and I always recommend newcomers who love a little spiciness to try the Papaya Salad. It's an amazing dish, the Papaya Salad (first image). It's more of an appetizer, but it's very refreshing, cold, and the crunch of the cabbage married with the papaya strips makes this dish a wonderful explosion of flavors in your mouth. Warning: it gets progressively spicy with each bite but the flavor is so addicting you'll come back wanting more, even if your mouth is on fire. A helpful tip is to order it "Medium" instead of "Thai Chili Hot" (unless you love the burn, like myself). In the second image I've got the P2 or "Rare Steak" pho. If you're hungry, go for the "Regular" size, which is more of like a medium. Otherwise, if you're starving, the "Large" is perfect. The flavors of the pho broth here is amazing. Not too salty, and very hearty. It's the perfect recipe to cure a hangover or any cold one might have. Overall this is, without a doubt, the best place to get pho in Smyrna. The staff is very friendly and always makes us feel at home. The food is consistently amazing and comes out in a timely manner. Try it out.

Yelp
Very surly, rude and condescending host, server. As you walk in you are told credit card machine not working. Cash or Vimeo only. You are told to scan the menu. I could not open it. So I headed back to scan again told to go back to table and I will help you. Two of .my choices on the menu not available. Good is good service SUCKS! Will not return!

Yelp
YOU MUST TRY! I haven't been able to find a good Pho restaurant since moving here from California and I couldn't be more impressed. We ordered take out and was very satisfied with the portion size. They are fast, friendly, COVID conscious, and delicious!
