The Best Restaurants in LA’s South Bay, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Not all chains are created equal, like Pho Hue Oi, which has outlets in Fountain Valley and Redondo Beach but recently opened a shiny new restaurant in this semi-hidden strip mall. The offerings are really great for the South Bay, with a deep umami-rich broth that stands above virtually every other Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Yes, (north) Redondo Beach isn’t that far from here, but the distance in traffic might dissuade a lot of diners coming from south Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, south Torrance, and even Palos Verdes. The banh mi are excellent too, sporting crisp but light baguettes. Pho Hue Oi’s bánh bèo aren’t available yet, but once the restaurants add them to the menu, the delectable little rice and tapioca flour-filled cups topped with fried shrimp and drizzled with fish sauce will make for a a terrific appetizer." - Matthew Kang

4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles: February 14 | Eater LA

"Located in a semi-hidden strip mall near Del Amo Fashion Center, the new outpost brings offerings that are "really great for the South Bay," anchored by a deep umami-rich broth that stands above virtually every other Vietnamese restaurant in the area. The banh mi are "excellent," sporting crisp but light baguettes. Bánh bèo aren’t available yet, but once added to the menu "the delectable little rice and tapioca flour-filled cups topped with fried shrimp and drizzled with fish sauce will make for a terrific appetizer." Note that, despite proximity to north Redondo Beach, traffic from south Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, south Torrance, and Palos Verdes can make the trip feel longer. — Matthew Kang, lead editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Eater Staff

Excellent noodles and fresh rolls that are full of amazing flavor. The shrimp rolls (Goi Cuon) with steamed pork or the grilled pork rolls (Thit Nuong Cuon) are both delicious. Go for the small upcharge for the fresh noodles as they really level up the dishes.. the Pho Doc Biet gives you a great combination of beefy goodness and the broth is perfect. The Pho Khong Thit broth is also really good.. very clean and tasty. The Banh Mi sandwiches are also bomb and the bread is great. The large Pho bowls are huge and easily can feed 2 people and the prices are not bad at all. Pho Hue Oi has a nice variety on the menu and everything has been super terrific.

This is a new location that we got to visit during a soft opening. It was modern and clean but small. Definitely a wait during prime hours. Overall, the food was only ok. Egg rolls were delicious and served with lettuce. The pho was a disappointment though. Broth was light and tasted watery. The noodles were in clumps (old and mushy) and precut 😔 making using chopsticks impossible. The thai tea was brewed and not from a can. Service was fast but not great. We didn't get water refills until after we were done eating and they delivered the right dishes we ordered but to the wrong people at the table and had us do our own rearranging of food. Prices are on the high side and Definitely not worth what you get. I'd say try it once if you haven't but I Unfortunately will not be a repeat customer.

Been wanting to try this location out after going to the RB Location a few times. The issues with the RB location (size -it's very small and therefore wait times are long) have been solved with the Torrance location. It's also opposite in ambiance- whereas the colors and decor are very big city (lots of red and black) in the Redondo location, it's very open air, lots of greenery at the Torrance location. The menus seem the same so I ordered my usual and was happy with the consistency- the food tasted similar if not the same to the flavors and quality I experienced in RB. We didn't have to wait for a table although it was quite crowded at 3 pm. I had the make-your-own pho and the fried egg roll. The server recommended that one of our party try the beef instead of the shortrib rice plate because the consistency was softer and apparently it was a great recommendation and a new favourite. We will definitely be back!

New Place! Definitely worth the try! I am a pho-king pho maniac. I love Pho. I could eat Pho everyday every meal every year. My wife calls me pho-king crazy. Okay i'll stop. I've tried almost every single pho restaurant in South Bay. And I take pho rating very seriously simply because pho was what got me surviving through college as a poor college kid. There are only a handful that I could really say good. I would give this place a solid 4.0 out of 5.0. But I feel like it's going to get better after the soft opening. Broth Pho broth is known for personalization per chef. It really is the only part that allows pho chefs to truly show off their recipe. This place's broth was, if I have to describe, "clean." I like my broth like the restaurant boiled a whole beef legs in a lava boiling water. But sometimes, I do appreciated clean, not too strong taste broth as well. This place has all of spices correct and but less oily. Noodle This might be an unpopular opinion but I do like harder and chewy noodle than "just right" soft. I don't know why. This place has slightly harder noodle so I definitely did not complain! Meat I might have to deduct a point on this part. Their meat was a bit dry. Size One of things that really made me happy was their size. I ate a large size and a lot of places these day do not serve large. Large is supposed to fill you up with good amount of meat and veggies. This place served it right. I was very full! Overall Experience I would definitely come back!

Google
A True Gem – Authentic Vietnamese Food with Heartfelt Hospitality I rarely write reviews, but after dining at this incredible Vietnamese restaurant, I felt compelled to share my experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, whose genuine friendliness set the tone for the entire meal. You could immediately feel the pride and love that goes into both the food and the service here. We started with the spring rolls, which were absolutely fresh and perfectly rolled—crisp vegetables, plump shrimp, and a peanut dipping sauce that was rich, nutty, and flavorful. A great appetizer that already had us excited for more. Next came the pho, and let me just say—this might be the best pho I’ve had outside of Vietnam. The broth was incredibly fragrant and full of depth, clearly simmered for hours. The meat was tender, and the noodles were cooked just right. It was the kind of bowl that warms you from the inside out. We also ordered the bun bò Huế, and wow—what a showstopper! Bold, spicy, and full of complex flavors. The balance of lemongrass, chili, and beef was masterfully done. It’s a dish that not every Vietnamese place gets right, but here, it was absolutely on point. What made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They were knowledgeable about the menu and clearly cared about creating a positive dining experience. The owner came by our table to chat with us, and it was obvious how passionate he is about the food and making every guest feel like family. You don’t get that kind of personal touch everywhere. This restaurant is a true gem. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Vietnamese cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place will not disappoint. Delicious food, generous portions, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We’ll absolutely be back—and bringing friends next time!

Google
Newly opened Vietnamese eatery, crowded yet wait was a mere 5min. This will become a popular place as word is spread of appeal and the staff become experienced in service. Week2: Pho soup with three meats (P1) Beef broth deliciously tasty. Third week in a row, trying other menu items: crispy pork belly sandwich (M2), and mixed salad with grilled pork (A7). Quick service improvement; many customers were doing take-outs, house-full to capacity, served items very tasty (light and simple).

Google
Pretty solid place for Viet food. I've had the pho and banh mi and thought they were good. The banh mi has a lot of filling which is nice. The broth for the pho was nice and savory. I had the com dac biet which was also good. It had the usual meats with pork chops, shredded pork, and egg quiche. It was a decent portion. The staff was nice and attentive. The decor is very inviting. It wasn't too busy for lunch so the noise level was surprisingly quiet.

Google
I was excited to try Pho Ga that I have not found a place in Torrance. Broth was good, but it was little salty. However, the noodle were not blended well with the broth, and it was not so pleasant taste from the noodles. I also was very thirsty and had aftertaste after the meal.

Yelp
I've eaten here repeatedly. Every time it's very good. Service top notch. Food outstanding every time. It's always very clean. Seating is very comfortable so not packed in like sardines. If I show up by myself or in a group, it's always the same, very good. One time I walked in just before someone, he tried to nudge me out so he could put his name on the tablet, so I stepped between him and the host to get seated before his jackass. I still don't understand how the average rating is so low. As a general rule, I don't go to places below a 4. This is pretty much the one and only exception.

Yelp
First time trying them out since they opened. The Nuoc Cham sauce (The mixed, ready-to-eat fish sauce dipping sauce) is so WEAK and has no flavor, which made the bun thit nuong- $15.50 (cold vermicelli salad) un desirable. The eggroll was not crunchy and they added a lot of black pepper in the seasoning. The lettuce was fresh but yet one tiny cup of the bland fish sauce could not even enhance any flavor on this dish. Just imagine having a salad with a little of olive oil and lemon wedge. BLAND AF! We also ordered the fillet mignon garlic noodles $20. Luckily I asked to cook with extra garlic or this dish would of been super bland. I didn't mind it because lots of garlic makes everything tastes good. The noodles were soggy. Hopefully it was just an off day.. I do appreciate the clean and trendy style of the restaurant.

Yelp
Came here for quick company lunch and we all liked this place. Egg rolls were flavorful and crispy. I ordered filet mignon pho and i really liked how tender the beef were. Flavorful soup broth, not greasy at all. Phone noodles were perfectly cooked. We all enjoyed the modern and clean designed inside the restaurant and quick service by those friendly staffs. Will be back again later tonight

Yelp
We are fans of the Redondo location closer to Lawndale. This new larger location has more of a restaurant feel whereas the other location is more of a casual cafe. Service has been helpful both times we've been here with great recommendations. The menu has a few new additions since it's opened so ask your server. There are a few less common dishes at Vietnamese restaurants like the Banh Beo Chen, mini rice cakes which I love. Parking in the lot and ADA accessible with the wheelchair ramp at the corner location.

Yelp
Pho Hue Oi is OPEN ON SUNDAY unlike the other 2 local Pho restaurants in the area. That's a big plus! The service is friendly and food is good for the price, portions, freshness, quality and flavor. Parking is easy.

Yelp
We had lunch here a few weeks back and I forgot to add a review. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon and there was ample seating and good service. The menu was pretty standard for a pho restaurant and nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered two combination pho and some crispy egg rolls. Egg rolls were average and I've had better, not sure if it's the filling that didn't impress or the accompanying sauces. The pho was not bad and again seemed average for pho restaurants. Soup and toppings were very average. Bottom line, Pho Hue Oi is pretty average and we've had better pho locally, in the Gardena area.
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered it through Yelp. Order was ready. I would not say it's the best pho out there. There's something missing on the soup. The restaurant inside is very nice. my order was. to go. It served its purpose, got lunch , ate it and that's about it. The taste of food was underwhelming.

Yelp
New location! My friend recommended me this place. Although she recommended this restaurant, it was at the different location in Torrance, not this specific location. I live across the street and I recall a Taiko drum celebration on the grand opening of this restaurant. (I think it was for this restaurant, I was at a distance). This place serves pho, banh mi, noodles, lots of sides, vietnamese coffee, and boba. I got the large Pho Tai Filet Mignon ($16.95). The bowl was good size and it was very delicious. It was very flavorful and I don't think it can get any better. Server was good. She came to our table once to offer refill on water and asked if everything was good. Not all restaurant comes around asking for refill on water but this place does. This restaurant shares parking space with other good restaurants. Might have to park in the back. I'm definitely excited to try out their banh mi.

Yelp
Got the spring roll and pho combination soup. Was recommended by cashier to try the fresh noodles for $1.50 more. According to her, once people try the fresh noodles they don't go back to eating the regular noodles. The food did come out quickly but I wish they included a spoon with the chopstick. I got the food to go and ate it pretty soon afterwards. The soup wasn't very hot so might be better to dine in. The noodle itself were okay. I wouldn't pay the extra money for it. The broth was okay. Nothing great and nothing tasted bad. I've tried their sister branch years ago which was okay as well.

Yelp
Quick service. Seems popular. Spendy but it is Cali. Crunchy egg rolls. Good size bowl of pho. Plenty of meat to noodles ratio. Actual broth was good. Have had better in the area. Soo much Asian /Viet restaurants to choose from in this area. This was recommended so we tried it. Ambiance is cute, more modern, larger group would be hard to accommodate. Happy eating!

Yelp
New and very clean. Came on a Sunday around 2pm, was seated right away. Compared to other reviews, I had no complaints with the service. They're not circling the restaurant as often as American restaurants, but i thought they were attentive for an Asian restaurant. My server was really nice and got me extra onions and cilantro, and kept my water filled. I ordered the summer rolls and filet mignon pho. Both were really delicious. I honestly think it's one of the better places in Torrance. With inflation idk what a reasonable price is for a bowl of pho, but pho here ranges from $13-17

Yelp
I normally go to the one on Inglewood but this one is close to my work. Ordered takeout Bun Bo Hue. Delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Yelp
Quality Go-to Eatery clean as can be, with superb customer service, and beyond delicious food! Well Done Pho Hue Oi of Torrance! The carefully curated details are simple, yet sophisticated and accessible to all!

Yelp
I asked one question, are the chopsticks in there. They were not. How do I eat this... packaging was nice though.

Yelp
I like the Redondo Beach location better for their service. Their egg rolls are a bit stingy on lettuce and for the price I didn't feel like it was worth it Pho ga is pretty good. My husband got the garlic noodle with shrimp. It's a bit heavy on the noodle and taste was ok. Pretty crowded right now on weekends and service is a bit slow. The noodles came out before the pho lol, which is weird because pho usually is the first dish to come out. No outdoor dining or seating.
google avatar

Diana I.

Yelp
I've been eagerly waiting for them to open since I'm a fan of the Redondo Beach location. This location is next to Marugame Udon and Board & Brew. My husband and I dined here for lunch on a Wed during their soft opening. Prices are fair and the restaurant overall looks clean with an extensive menu. We shared an order of their spring rolls (2) which came with peanut sauce on the side. The spring rolls were extremely bland without the sauce. I wouldn't get this again. I also tried their regular size Pho Tai Ribeye which was delicious! The broth is SO good and flavorful and I think it's probably the best pho in Torrance area. You can taste a little more of the star anise and it has an authentic flavor compared to other nearby pho places. If I'm ever craving pho, this would be the place I would go. Service could have been better. The workers are not particularly friendly and they don't check on you which I didn't mind too much, but there were little things they could work on. For example, they didn't give us any plates for our spring rolls and there were no condiment plates on the table to put our hoisin/sriracha sauces in. Parking: easy and free in plaza lot

Yelp
Was excited to see that Pho Hue Oi finally had their soft opening. Lots of seating and it got pretty busy after we ordered our food. Service was good. Ordered the rib eye banh mi and the large rib eye pho. The banh mi was very yummy, the baguette they used was perfectly crispy and everything tasted super fresh. Just wish there could have been a little bit more meat. For the pho, we upgraded to get the fresh house made noodles (definitely worth the extra $1.50)! The noodles were super bouncy and soft. I thought the portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side. Personally for me, the pho broth was a bit too salty and the soup was a bit underwhelming as I thought it lacked depth/flavor.
google avatar

Duke C.

Yelp
Solid pho spot for Torrance. Came here for lunch on the weekened just after the lunch rush and got seated right away. Nice new modern space which makes for a comfortable dining experience. The menu is pretty standard - we went with a bowl of pho and Bun Thit Nuong. Food came out fast. Pho was solid! Broth is good and no skimping on the proteins. The bun was a huge disappointment though. It was standard in terms of the toppings, but the fish sauce that came with it was exceptionally bland. Good flavors on the grilled pork though. Prices are expected for the South Bay area, but gonna seem higher when compared to 626 or other parts of OC.
google avatar

Jimmy J.

Yelp
Always good but always busy Pho is tasty, warm to the soul, and classic Ive came here at least once a month and its been consistently great
google avatar

Shelley C.

Yelp
I frequent the other Redondo Beach location and enjoy it, so thought we would try this new Torrance location for dinner. Got seated right away after walking in. It's nice inside and same menu. The server took our order quickly. My partner got the pho really quickly. In fact at their Redondo Beach location the food always comes out fast but still good. So we wait and wait and wait and my dish still hadn't arrived. My partner finished the entire bowl of pho and I had to flag someone down to ask where my food was. The waitress seemed shocked and realized that it never went into the kitchen. Left a really poor taste in my mouth and ended up leaving. They apologized and offered to start cooking it now for us to take home for free, but the fact that they weren't delayed but hadn't even STARTED cooking my dish?? Admittedly I was annoyed with this unique experience.

Yelp
Dear Mr and Mrs owner. Did you know that your business is being run like this? This maybe a learning opportunity to turn it around before it's too late. We were excited to try your restaurant but have no plans to return any time soon. The staff is present but service is no where to be found. They are non responsive , combative, and they don't realize that they are rude. We first noticed it when they were talking poorly and rather rudely to an elderly couple who were just ordering slowly. Service. We had to ask several times for an extra plate. But they said ok walked away never to be seen again until the "how's everything"? Combative. They brought out the wrong order. We questioned them when they brought it to the table and assured us it was beef. While eating it we realized it was pork. Ok no biggie but when we asked that the price be adjusted to the correct price. lol about .-75 cents they threw a fit. Wanted to know when I told them this was wrong? Who did I talk to? Why I didn't bring it back up. I never asked for a free meal. Your staff she could have said. I'm sorry let me make an adjustment. We will try better next time. How was the food? But she sat there and wanted to let me know she was doing me a favor my charging me for a c3 instead of a c4 because the beef is more expensive. But weird your Menu says it's less. I should have tipped zero but I still left something to show my disappointment in the service. I agree with the other reviewers that the pho we ordered p1 and make your own pho combos broth was rather bland and just missing something there's no richness to its flavor almost like it's watered down but it's OK. It's not great. It's just OK. Based on what we ate We would've actually come back! But considering how the restaurant staff is running the place and how they treat their customers we choose to not support your restaurant. You said on your interview you grew up here. We 100% support local own businesses in the South Bay but not when the services is this bad. As a community consensus, you started off at 4 1/2 stars and you're at 3 1/2. You may really want to consider if there's room for improvement.

Yelp
The fact that it was packed on a weeknight tells you everything you need to know - locals have discovered this gem and they keep coming back for a reason. The energy was buzzing, the food was spot-on, and my wallet didn't take a beating.
google avatar

Yelp
Pho Hue Oi recently opened in Torrance, so I decided to try it out. I ordered the pho with brisket. The meat seemed a little overcooked. The broth was fine, but it could have used more spice to give it a bit more flavor. My son got a banh mi to go on a different day. He said it was okay, but nothing to write home about. On the positive side, the table service was good, and the restaurant is clean. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in the area, but there are probably better choices nearby if you're looking for outstanding Vietnamese food.
google avatar

Hayden L.

Yelp
Very convenient location near the Del Amo mall in the busy Torrance area just off Hawthorne Blvd. It's in a new, clean strip mall with easy parking. It's nice and modern inside. The egg rolls were delicious and authentic tasting with big pieces of lettuce served with it. They came out piping hot with a generous side of fish dipping sauce. The large size pho was a good portion with decent portions of meat in it. The broth was a little on the light side, but still good. What was a miss was the noodles. They were in a lot of small broken pieces that were in clumps and kind of mushy. Usually pho has long strands of noodles that you can pick up and stretch with your chopsticks. Unfortunately, these were small noodle bits that you could barely pick up with chopsticks brocade they were in 1-2 inch pieces. The service was friendly, and the food came out fast. Yet sometimes the service didn't anticipate the guests needs like extra napkins, water refills, share plates for the appetizers, and placing the food down without knowing who ordered what.
google avatar

Alejandra M.

Yelp
Came here because our usual spot was closed and looked decent. Food options look and sound good on menu. We ordered the summer rolls, egg rolls, vermicelli bowl and a pho. All were only ok. All lacked flavor. Service was decent. Not anything special but not bad. The place itself is nice and really clean which is pleasant enough. It's ok overall, but I probably will stick to my usual place.
google avatar

Nandini M.

Yelp
Fast pickup, lots of parking, baby play area nearby. Wish they had some outdoor tables like the other neighboring restaurants. I don't normally get chicken pho in general, and this didn't change my mind that it isn't my favorite. Good amount of toppings, and easy to assemble. Chicken is sliced white meat. I think there was a choice of dark meat but I didn't specify. Would go back to try the combination pho and spring rolls!
google avatar

Globe Trekker N.

Yelp
Food is pretty good. Great service. The restaurant is clean and spacious. I'm glad the owner opened this 2nd location. The 1st on Inglewood & Rosecrans is so small, and the space is so tight.
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
Caught them on a soft opening, the pho came highly recommended. Didn't disappoint - the broth is solid, a nice steaming bowl, and the filet tastes fresh. I'm sad they didn't have banh beo yet, but would come back to try it. Overall a good broth, a good bowl of pho. You have to go further south for the goods in Garden Grove, but if you're looking for a local place, this one is good.
google avatar

Danica L.

Yelp
I've been waiting for this place to open since I saw the sign. I came here on a Saturday at 11am and I didn't have to wait. If you came in at noon, there was a bit of a line since the place is not very big. I ordered the Steak Pho and it was pretty good! For a bowl of pho, it is very pricey especially for the portion size to be a bit small. Would be amazing pho if it was a tad cheaper. Overall, good place if you're in the mood for some pho!
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
I came here a couple times during their soft opening. Pretty busy and lots of activities. It's in a new goodie zone so you know it's great. Clean restaurant and lots of parking. Stiff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are some basic Vietnamese items on the menu but it's not true Hue cuisine until they have the banh beo and banh bot loc. it's a solid Vietnamese restaurant if you like pho and bun thit nuong. Definitely more accommodating towards larger population who are not Vietnamese. Portions are smaller than most other places I've been to.

Yelp
The good: I came here twice! I tried the garlic noodles with shrimp, egg rolls (cha gio) appetizer with lettuce to wrap, side of extra grilled shrimp, com dat biet, pho filet mignon (regular size), a peach chia tea and a jasmine milk tea. I'm excited to have a Vietnamese restaurant in Torrance that sells more than just pho. It was pretty busy on both occasions that I came. The interior is simple and modern with images of the city Hue on the walls. The Jasmine milk tea was fragrant and strong. The bad: The pho tasted a lot like the noodles and its packaging. The broth flavor was a bit lost because all I could taste was that plastic package flavor. I'm very familiar with that flavor because I make pho at home with the packaged noodles as well. Next time, I would get the banh tuoi (fresh noodles for $1.50 extra) so you don't taste that package taste. With banh tuoi there seems to be less quantity of noodles that you get. I feel like most places don't charge extra for banh tuoi. There's no outdoor dining but this is pretty standard for many pho spots. They didn't have banh beo because they said it was their soft opening and said maybe they'd have it next month (April). They didn't have it on both occasions I came. There was a sign outside that said their menu would be limited but the menu didn't say what items were not available. The veggies that came with the pho was smaller than most veggie plates for pho. The com dat biet rice plate didn't come with hot chili peppers or anything. The nuoc mam fish sauce was plainer. The rice wasn't broken. Pickled carrots and daikon would've been nice. The pho broth was a little bit sweeter than my mom liked. I would've liked pickled carrots/daikon with the egg roll appetizer. The inside of the eggrolls had more a brown/consistent color and mushy texture rather than a visibly distinct interior where you could differentiate the vermicelli noodles, wood ear mushroom, etc. We asked to split the bill amongst our table of 5 but they said the max was 2 due to how busy they were. On both occasions that I came they made excuses on why they couldn't do something due to being too busy. My husband said his fish sauce for the com dat biet was a bit dilute and that the dish was overall okay but not great. The interesting: They are slightly bigger than their Redondo Beach location. I got grilled shrimp as a side dish but also got grilled shrimp noodles. Both were fragrant but they were both cooked differently. One seemed charred and grilled on a grill while the other seemed stir-fried in a pan. I spoke to the waiter in Vietnamese but he'd respond to me in English even though it seemed like his Vietnamese was stronger than his English.

Yelp
Clean, well lit restaurant located in restaurant complex that formerly housed elephant bar and Marie Callender's. Option to wait or be seated immediately at the counter. We decided to eat at the counter. We ordered filet pho and chicken banh mi. Servers were attentive. Food was prepared quickly and was fresh and good quality. Best banh mi I've had outside of the San Gabriel valley. Nice to see restaurant with Vietnamese staff and servers. A definite option from Saigon dish in Hawthorne/Lawndale.

Yelp
A new restaurant with a number of bad reviews. I went there to make my own judgment. It was a bit confusing when we walked in because there was no host and all we saw was what looked like a self-service counter. As soon as we walked over we were told to have a seat for in-dining service. The menu had lots of items. I decided to go somewhat traditional and ordered the Pho Tai Filet Mignon and my guest had the Mi Toi Tom Nuong. It was not a traditional Pho recipe but it was good. My biggest complaint is that the meat was practically non existent. There was enough for ONE bite of a beef dip. I've ordered pho all over the world and this was the first time I had to search for the meat. Both of our meals were well presorted and the restaurant was distinctively lighted and very clean. Seating was comfortable. The parking lot is decent sized but it becomes harder to find a parking spot as more side-by-side restaurants open - and two more might be opening soon. All in all I plan to return to try some of their other dishes. It's definitely not "all pho." The variety seemed nice and I look forward to picking something else off the menu.

Yelp
I stopped by Pho Hue Oi after hearing great things, and I'm glad I did! I ordered the filet mignon pho, and it definitely delivered. The broth was rich, aromatic, and had that slow-simmered depth you hope for. The filet mignon was super tender and sliced thin--perfectly cooked when it hit the hot broth. Only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that u had to cook the meat before putting in cuz it was raw. It kinda threw me off. overall, really satisfying and comforting bowl of pho. Service was friendly and the place was clean and modern. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu!

Yelp
Was so excited for this viet restaurant opening up in Torrance! When I saw they had banh mi on the menu, I had to go. There's not many banh mi places in Torrance so I had high expectations for it to become my main banh mi provider. I came for lunch on a Saturday with my family and the restaurant was already full so we put our names down and waited about 15 min before they had a table for us. I will say the place does not seem catered to parties with more than 4 people as most of the booths and tables comfortably fit 4, and we had 5 in our party but squeezed into the booth. The menu had the usual dishes you see at a regular viet restaurant but I hadn't realized it wasn't vegetarian friendly - my sister doesn't really eat meat so the only dish she could get was the plain noodle soup. We got the eggrolls to share, I got the banh mi hue oi, and the other people in my party got the pho dac biet, bun bo hue, and com dac biet. The eggrolls were nice and crispy and you could taste the shrimp. The pho and bun bo hue were the first main dishes to come out, and eventually the plain noodle soup came out, but my banh mi and the com dac biet took a long time to come out and we had to remind them about it. I know this place is still newly opened but they need to work on getting the dishes out at a similar time because some people in my party were almost done with their food by the time mine and someone else's got to us. The flavors of the banh mi were good but they were definitely skimping out on the meat - there were only maybe 4 thinly sliced pieces, but the bread was crunchy and they added a lot of mayo. The pho had a lot of noodles and not that much meat. The service still needs improving on because it seemed like they were only focused on the one side closer to the kitchen and we tried to get the attention of multiple waiters multiple times for assistance but it took awhile for one to finally notice us. They also never came to check up on us or refilled our waters. Overall pretty disappointed in the service and food. I think I'll give it another try once they've been open for a while and have gotten the hang of things.

Yelp
Mmmmmm. It was my first time at this location, I usually go to their other one. I usually get their bun bo hue but I wanted something new so I tried their crispy pork belly banh mi and a side of rocket shrimp. Their heo quay/pork belly was deliciously seasoned and just the right texture, not too crunchy and soft and moist on the inside. The bread itself was surprisingly good. It was just the right amount of crunch, didn't hurt my teeth while biting into it and also soft on the inside. I also liked that the baguette wasn't thick, it was rather on the thinner side, which is actually my preference. It was stuffed with the usual daikon and carrots, cilantro, and a traditional type of Vietnamese mint. I ordered for pick up and the service was great. The crew was friendly, place is super clean, and it was much more spacious then their other location on Inglewood Blvd. I felt more comfortable at this location. It's also in a plaza with plenty of parking which is great. Prices are decent as well! I'll be coming back to try other dishes for sure. My cons: shrimp was not deveined, it's an ick of mines but I know some don't care. I also would've liked to know if there was an option to change the dipping sauces for the rocket shrimp cause I would've thought it came with fish sauce. And also if jalepenos/ peppers could be included with daikon and carrots, that would've been great.

Yelp
My friend and I came here on Sunday for lunch for the soft opening. Inside is well lit, well decorated, and clean. It was pretty busy inside and took about 10 min to get seated. After ordering it took about another 10 minutes to arrive, but too bad for a restaurant working out the kinks. I got the P1 combination pho in size large. The portion were perfect for me. The broth was quite flavorful and there was a good amount of meat. The waitress recommended the fresh noodles (extra $1.50) but I went with the regular noodles. Overall, I'd say this is one of the best pho restaurants in the south bay!

Yelp
Just opened! Short wait, really friendly and helpful staff, and the food came quickly. No complaints. I'm coming back over and over!

Yelp
I ordered: GRILLED PORK BAHN MI w/ FRIES- this was the best thing I had here. It was tasty. The fries were just ok. Wished it was fried a little longer GARLIC NOODLES WITH CHICKEN- this was just ok for me.. wasn't bad , but the the bahn mi was better. Their THAI TEA was good. Hard to mess that up. Will come back for the bahn mi.

Yelp
Consistently horrible service. I just really don't understand. They refuse to write down your order and ALWAYS forget an item. This time I asked if they got the entire order and she was like of course. Lo and behold, my iced coffee never came and halfway through our meal I had to ask for it. No apologies or anything. Then comes the part that just really puts it over the top. Apparently, only one person is checking out the tables. I flag down a server twice after and both times they tell me to wait for the lady doing checkout. It looks like the lady is finally coming to our table after a server reminds her and then goes to take another table's order!! Mind you there are like 6 staff members out and about. Yet apparently no one else can check us out. I was really looking forward to having a closer location of pho hue oi but the service here is incredibly frustrating. Given the other reviews, it seems that they're not giving attention to the feedback. Pls improve your service!

Yelp
Probably one of the worst dining experiences, I've had in years! While I understand, the restaurant just opened, this location is not their first! We didn't mind waiting 30mins to be seated. Once seated, our order took another 30 mins to place the order. The gentleman whom was in charge of the front of house, should not be allowed to take orders! He got so distracted, he would come to our table to place the order, then take off to speak with another customer. He was literally running around in a circle like a headless chicken! This got the attention of another customer, whom took our order! Not sure, if the lady was the owner or family friend, but she was nice enough to place our order. Things only got worse after that, unfortunately! They were out of fresh noodles & soda chanh. Other tables got served their food before ours, despite us coming before them. Got Charged $1.50 for onions, we never got! My husband's pho was the wrong size, so he waited another 20mins for his to come out. Chicken wings were burnt! Noodles were starchy, and my broth was not hot enough to cook the rare beef! See pic! Noodle to soup ratio was uneven. When we got our change, they gave us a French coin in change! See pic again! Make sure to ask for a receipt Won't be back until next year! See you in 2026!

Yelp
Great spot, loved everything we had. All the sides were very fresh and tasted good. Meat quality was good and tasty. Service was great and enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant

Yelp
The food tastes good, but the portions are way too small for the price. And they charge extra just for the wider flat noodles? I've had that type of noodle at plenty of other pho spots without any upcharge--this is the first time I've had to pay more. Kinda ridiculous. Also, the staff seemed poorly trained. I said hi twice and didn't even get a response. Then I ordered an iced coffee, and it came only about 75% full. When I asked the server about it, he told me to go up to the counter to talk to the manager--seriously? Shouldn't the manager come to the table? Eventually, the manager did come over, but all he gave me were excuses and then offered to just add more ice. I've been to their Orange County location and the coffee there is filled up way more, so I know that explanation doesn't hold up. Honestly, if they're going to serve less coffee, they should just use a smaller cup.

Yelp
WARNING: Do not come here if you're not excited about supporting a small mom and pop shop! Kk, I may be biased but this is probably the best thing that has ever happened to this side of town. Vietnamese owned and operated restaurant has finally made it to Torrance. Love the pho, both chicken and beef broth, my fav is the dried egg noodle dish. They also have a crispy pork belly banh mi, it's an off menu item so you'd have to ask the chef if it's available. (Shh, don't tell them I told you.) I see a lot of people giving them a 1-star... it's their soft opening so let's give them a break. Instead of complaining online, let them know irl. I'm just grateful they're HERE on this side of town. Ambiance is nice, the place is clean and they're super Viet so doesn't get anymore authentic than this. Iykyk

Yelp
Nestled in the Southwood Torrance area, thought this will be a more family-friendly experience. I ordered the garlic noodles with the filet mignon for my little guys ages 8 and 3, and when my hubby brought it home i saw there were bits Raw garlic in it along with some cooked ones. I tried to pick it off, but couldn't get them, so i tried it the noodles and knew the raw garlic was too spicy for my kiddos. I called the store to exchange it for one without the raw garlic (I was willing to drive back out) and they were not willing to work with me. I talked to the manger Ms. N who doubted they were really raw, and merely offered a 20% discount even if i were to bring it back. (Really, what is it to them,, for my trouble of driving back for it, and their cost of 10 small chunks of beef with spaghetti noodles?!?) She also said because I tried it, they won't be able to re-serve it, so also for that reason they won't exchange it. (Omg, she was going to re-serve it??) This was actually a second chance i gave to this place -after my first experience with bland pho.. Unfortunately between the two sub-par experiences i will not be going back.. This was such a disappointment given i was really excited to have a pho place close by. I was even talking about it before they opened with my other mom friends.. At the end, I'm happy going back to door-dashing to my old faithful pho place in Lawndale who I actually like giving my business to..

Yelp
Had the pho ga and Banh Mi Thit Nuong yesterday. You have 2 size options for soup when you dine in. Soup was flavorful and good portion. The sandwich bread was perfectly crisp and pork filling was delicious. I need to try more menu options having been very pleased with first tries.

Yelp
Came to dinner and ordered Bun Bo Hue, but when it arrived, it was sadly a real disappointment. Two of the key ingredients of this noodle soup that make it special, blood pudding and pork hock, were missing. The waiter didn't not mention that the kitchen ran out when I ordered or when the dish was brought out--only when I asked that something was missing. It felt like a bait and switch! Expecting one thing and then getting something that paled in comparison. I'm not sure that I'll be back, because it was just an overpriced bowl of meh spicy noodles and meat with so so customer service.
