The Best Restaurants in LA’s South Bay, According to Eater Editors | Eater LA

"Not all chains are created equal, like Pho Hue Oi, which has outlets in Fountain Valley and Redondo Beach but recently opened a shiny new restaurant in this semi-hidden strip mall. The offerings are really great for the South Bay, with a deep umami-rich broth that stands above virtually every other Vietnamese restaurant in the area. Yes, (north) Redondo Beach isn’t that far from here, but the distance in traffic might dissuade a lot of diners coming from south Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, south Torrance, and even Palos Verdes. The banh mi are excellent too, sporting crisp but light baguettes. Pho Hue Oi’s bánh bèo aren’t available yet, but once the restaurants add them to the menu, the delectable little rice and tapioca flour-filled cups topped with fried shrimp and drizzled with fish sauce will make for a a terrific appetizer." - Matthew Kang

4 Restaurants to Try This Weekend in Los Angeles: February 14 | Eater LA

"Located in a semi-hidden strip mall near Del Amo Fashion Center, the new outpost brings offerings that are "really great for the South Bay," anchored by a deep umami-rich broth that stands above virtually every other Vietnamese restaurant in the area. The banh mi are "excellent," sporting crisp but light baguettes. Bánh bèo aren’t available yet, but once added to the menu "the delectable little rice and tapioca flour-filled cups topped with fried shrimp and drizzled with fish sauce will make for a terrific appetizer." Note that, despite proximity to north Redondo Beach, traffic from south Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, south Torrance, and Palos Verdes can make the trip feel longer. — Matthew Kang, lead editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest" - Eater Staff

Excellent noodles and fresh rolls that are full of amazing flavor. The shrimp rolls (Goi Cuon) with steamed pork or the grilled pork rolls (Thit Nuong Cuon) are both delicious. Go for the small upcharge for the fresh noodles as they really level up the dishes.. the Pho Doc Biet gives you a great combination of beefy goodness and the broth is perfect. The Pho Khong Thit broth is also really good.. very clean and tasty. The Banh Mi sandwiches are also bomb and the bread is great. The large Pho bowls are huge and easily can feed 2 people and the prices are not bad at all. Pho Hue Oi has a nice variety on the menu and everything has been super terrific.

As a solo diner I visited this branch of the family owned business and sat at the counter top seating area since all the tables were taken. Popular place guys! I ordered “large rib eye pho” bowl was very very generous and took a persistent slog at finishing the bold portion! Shame the beef was well done and firming up rather than rare as it stated on the menu. Broth was well seasoned and complex and rather tasty. Ingredients like the Thai basil and bean sprouts were fresh and crispy. My iced Vietnamese coffee was strong but welcomed! Staff were working well under pressure will definitely come back and try other things dishes. I’m happy I came across this restaurant.

Been wanting to try this location out after going to the RB Location a few times. The issues with the RB location (size -it's very small and therefore wait times are long) have been solved with the Torrance location. It's also opposite in ambiance- whereas the colors and decor are very big city (lots of red and black) in the Redondo location, it's very open air, lots of greenery at the Torrance location. The menus seem the same so I ordered my usual and was happy with the consistency- the food tasted similar if not the same to the flavors and quality I experienced in RB. We didn't have to wait for a table although it was quite crowded at 3 pm. I had the make-your-own pho and the fried egg roll. The server recommended that one of our party try the beef instead of the shortrib rice plate because the consistency was softer and apparently it was a great recommendation and a new favourite. We will definitely be back!

Google
This is a new location that we got to visit during a soft opening. It was modern and clean but small. Definitely a wait during prime hours. Overall, the food was only ok. Egg rolls were delicious and served with lettuce. The pho was a disappointment though. Broth was light and tasted watery. The noodles were in clumps (old and mushy) and precut 😔 making using chopsticks impossible. The thai tea was brewed and not from a can. Service was fast but not great. We didn't get water refills until after we were done eating and they delivered the right dishes we ordered but to the wrong people at the table and had us do our own rearranging of food. Prices are on the high side and Definitely not worth what you get. I'd say try it once if you haven't but I Unfortunately will not be a repeat customer.

An elevated gastronomical vnm experience in L.A. Authentic food, great svc and vibes. Will be back for sure for their garlic noodles. Price is reasonable.

Google
Pretty solid place for Viet food. I've had the pho and banh mi and thought they were good. The banh mi has a lot of filling which is nice. The broth for the pho was nice and savory. I had the com dac biet which was also good. It had the usual meats with pork chops, shredded pork, and egg quiche. It was a decent portion. The staff was nice and attentive. The decor is very inviting. It wasn't too busy for lunch so the noise level was surprisingly quiet.

A True Gem – Authentic Vietnamese Food with Heartfelt Hospitality I rarely write reviews, but after dining at this incredible Vietnamese restaurant, I felt compelled to share my experience. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the owner, whose genuine friendliness set the tone for the entire meal. You could immediately feel the pride and love that goes into both the food and the service here. We started with the spring rolls, which were absolutely fresh and perfectly rolled—crisp vegetables, plump shrimp, and a peanut dipping sauce that was rich, nutty, and flavorful. A great appetizer that already had us excited for more. Next came the pho, and let me just say—this might be the best pho I’ve had outside of Vietnam. The broth was incredibly fragrant and full of depth, clearly simmered for hours. The meat was tender, and the noodles were cooked just right. It was the kind of bowl that warms you from the inside out. We also ordered the bun bò Huế, and wow—what a showstopper! Bold, spicy, and full of complex flavors. The balance of lemongrass, chili, and beef was masterfully done. It’s a dish that not every Vietnamese place gets right, but here, it was absolutely on point. What made the experience even more memorable was the hospitality. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, constantly checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They were knowledgeable about the menu and clearly cared about creating a positive dining experience. The owner came by our table to chat with us, and it was obvious how passionate he is about the food and making every guest feel like family. You don’t get that kind of personal touch everywhere. This restaurant is a true gem. Whether you’re a long-time fan of Vietnamese cuisine or trying it for the first time, this place will not disappoint. Delicious food, generous portions, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. We’ll absolutely be back—and bringing friends next time!

Great new place in Torrance. The food was great, the boba was great, the service was also great. Highly recommend it if you are looking for a good soup.

Yelp
The food here is delicious & always fresh! Waiters are very friendly & happy to answer any questions you have about their menu . Pleasant ambiance & plenty of parking!

Yelp
It's pretty decent and affordable at Pho Hue Oi in Torrance, CA. The area is walkable to many other restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, and more. Busy vibes inside. It appears to be packed with customers, especially at lunchtime even on weekdays. $13.95-$16.50 for a rice plate here. $5.50 can get you a good beverage too. We had the special combination rice plate and the regular grilled chicken rice plates. Both were actually huge in portion sizes, so they are generous here. Tasted good. Milk tea was in a tall cup. Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk was strong in a smaller cup at the same price. Server was definitely busy with hands full. Menu wasn't huge. You can pretty much decide what you want to eat by glancing once or twice. Everything looks very affordable here. You can't get these prices in the San Francisco Bay Area for Vietnamese local foods. Pho Hue Oi is your average and casual local spot, but they did decorate for the holidays. Good location with plenty of free parking nearby. This is a good spot if you are visiting Torrance or making a quick in town stop. Nothing fancy here. It's just a very simple restaurant business.

Yelp
Even though there were only about two groups of customers in the restaurant, no one came to greet us when we walked in. We ended up sitting at an open table ourselves, but no one came to take our order either. We had to call someone over just to get their attention. There was no welcoming atmosphere at all. The staff barely spoke, simply brought the pho without any interaction. I ordered the rare steak pho, but the meat was rubbery, tasted old, and had an unpleasant smell, so I couldn't eat it. The service was very poor. The staff paid no attention to customers and spent most of the time talking among themselves. I definitely do not want to come back.

Yelp
Ordered a pork banh mi and a side of pho broth To Go. Sandwich rating Taste 4/5 - Pork meat was well marinated Portion - Bread was a little smaller than expected. Pho broth 3/5 - Was pretty light and did the job. Cleanliness - 4/5 Did see some specks of soy sauce on the counter where I was sitting at. Output time - About 10 minutes Place has a versatile menu, but gets the job done when you don't want to drive all the way to OC or 626.

Yelp
I tried Pho Hue Oi in Torrance and left feeling pretty neutral overall. I ordered the chicken pho and paid the extra $1.50 to upgrade to the "fresh" noodles, plus a pork banh mi to go. Coming from the 626, where pho standards are high, the food itself felt mediocre--flavor was fine but nothing memorable, portions were on the smaller side, and prices felt high for what you get. By the way, I wouldn't upgrade to the fresh noodles again. That said, the ordering counter was efficient. I waited at the counter bar for about 15 minutes and everything came out without issue. The biggest positive here is the space itself: clean, new, modern, and comfortable--definitely one of the nicer-looking pho spots. If I were judging purely on food, I probably wouldn't come back unless there were no other options nearby. The experience was fine, just not compelling enough to stand out given the price and portion size.

Yelp
Celebrating a birthday tonight. Should have checked Yelp before driving here because you can join the waitlist before getting there. Oh well. I hope this helps others. Nice selection of food and drink. It was delicious as well. The place is very popular. Ok, bye.
google avatar

Yelp
I think the food was good, they ran out of an ingredient in their spicy Pho, so went with a classic pho. For price and portion ratio didn't seem to add up.., I will be honest, i had a higher expectation since someone review this place so highly... Just another over priced Pho place, not special. Service was pretty good when they were pretty slammed due to the rain. Ambiance was nice, newer location.

Yelp
I guess your experience depends on who you ask and when you go. This is the second location for this seemingly popular pho shop with the original in Redondo Beach. I've eaten here many times and dined on various dishes mainly because my family loves coming here. I have to say, it's pretty decent Service is good and I've never had an issue with the staff as some other reviewers have experienced. Ambiance is casual and definitely for the local residents as well as those who work and shop in the area. Location: On Restaurant Row on Torrance Blvd across the street from Amazon Fresh and in the same lot as Teriyaki Madness. If you remember where the old Red Lobster place used to be, it's right next door. Food: Bahn mi's I've had are the pork, pork belly and filet mignon. Can be had with or without the combo (fries and side salad) and honestly, the pork belly. one is the best to get really. Fries are shoe string and okay to get. The salad is nothing to write home about. Pho: I'm not vietnamese and couldn't tell you the difference from one bowl to the next other than what I find in the bowl. They are all good and on a cold day, the perfect thing to warm you up fast. Decent portions with regular or large size. Broth is flavorful, but too salty for me to just drink alone. Summary:Pricing is about on par with what other places are charging these days when you don't want to cook at home. Parking is a private lot and although it shares with other eateries, there shouldn'tt be too much trouble finding a spot if you're willing to walk during peak dining hours. Decent food and filling especially after working or shopping all day. Happy eating!!!

Yelp
Craving pho and came back - even better food this time! Their banh mi (M1) was so good, definitely one of the best i've had, chewy bread, soft pate, and great pork. Also enjoyed the B6 vermicelli bowl - great bouncy noodles and grilled pork, just wish we had even more fish sauce. Also love the P1 the meat was so tender! Ordered to go again and they were on time. Definitely going to be back!

Yelp
I popped in on Saturday afternoon for lunch and quickly joined the Yelp waitlist. It seemed like everyone was getting seated quickly, so I waited inside. Seemed a little disorganized though because a random couple walked in while I was waiting and they got seated right away.. even though a server knew I was on the list for a table..? Eventually got seated and I ordered a bun bo hue. They ask to make sure you want the pork blood and hock, which I quickly said yes! I wish they gave more than one tiny block of pork blood, but at least the hock was meaty. The soup was not spicy and could've used a little more lemongrass flavor. It was just ok, got the job and craving done. Service was very slow even though they were very well staffed. Food took almost 20 minutes to come out and waters weren't brought out until food was. Looked like they were really prioritizing take out orders. Might come back if the bun bo hue craving strikes again, but might be worth it to just drive to OC..

Yelp
I'm a big fan of their Redondo Beach location (particularly menu item A5 -- the banh beo chen, which is hard to find on restaurant menus) and was counting the days until they opened the Torrance one. Happy to report the latest location is just as good as the Redondo one -- in fact, it's better in my opinion because the layout of the dining room gives you more breathing room, parking is better, and I feel like it's slightly easier to get a table. My go-to at Pho Hue Oi is always filet mignon pho, banh beo chen, and summer fresh rolls (not the fried kind). I love how they use real beef bones to create their broth and don't rely on canned broth or other shortcuts. If you're ordering pho (Vietnamese noodle soup), I recommend upgrading your noodles to the fresh noodles. I didn't even know this was an option until the owner talked to me at this location and told me all about it!
google avatar

Bruce L.

Yelp
Decent tasting pho place in Torrance. A little pricey for pho but that seems to be the norm now. Portions a little small. I think if they just gave a little larger portions I would be ok with the prices.
google avatar

Mio L.

Yelp
The soup was on the sweeter side and had to order extra lines to cancel out the sweetness. The spring rolls were okay as well. I ordered mine with fish sauce and wasn't my fave
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
First time trying them out since they opened. The Nuoc Cham sauce (The mixed, ready-to-eat fish sauce dipping sauce) is so WEAK and has no flavor, which made the bun thit nuong- $15.50 (cold vermicelli salad) un desirable. The eggroll was not crunchy and they added a lot of black pepper in the seasoning. The lettuce was fresh but yet one tiny cup of the bland fish sauce could not even enhance any flavor on this dish. Just imagine having a salad with a little of olive oil and lemon wedge. BLAND AF! We also ordered the fillet mignon garlic noodles $20. Luckily I asked to cook with extra garlic or this dish would of been super bland. I didn't mind it because lots of garlic makes everything tastes good. The noodles were soggy. Hopefully it was just an off day.. I do appreciate the clean and trendy style of the restaurant.

Yelp
As a first timer, I was very impressed with the food I had. I ordered the crispy pork belly bahn mi, spring rolls, and my husband got the P1 and an iced coffee. The pork belly was very crispy and the bread was soft and fresh. The spring rolls were light and flavorful as an appetizer. I tried my husband's pho and it definitely hit the spot for a rainy day. Service was quick and ambiance was casual. We joined the waitlist and was 10th in line but waited only about 10 mins. The line moved pretty fast. I highly recommend trying this spot out if you're in the Torrance area. There's plenty of parking in this plaza.

Yelp
Torrance does not have many Vietnamese restaurants. I'm not expecting to be mind blow by Vietnamese restaurants in South Bay. This restaurant is new so wait or pick up your order is a wait. If the pick up order time it 20 minutes, please expect 40 minutes. I tell you this as a warning if it's a cold raining night, you have hungry kids or hangry husband. I did take home filet mignon and my husband actually was impressed how tender the meat was. The banh mi was perfect with soft fresh bread. My kids enjoyed the plain pho. So overall I will actually go back for take out! It is pretty popular so looks like the wait in restaurant will be difficult for my kids, so I'll wait a few months.

Yelp
I tried a new dish because I always order bun I love the vegetables with the cold noodles. This time I ordered the rib eye rice plate and hubby ordered the fried shrimp rolls. The rib eye were thinly sliced marinated strips. Flavor was good but I would have preferred plain grilled meat so I wish that would have been mentioned on the menu. Shrimp was okay. Service was good. Attentive staff.
google avatar

Olivia R.

Yelp
this place honestly blew me away. my boyfriend and i felt the fresh rolls were some of the best we have ever had thanks to the flavorful grilled pork inside, which paired nicely with the fish sauce. i also loved my pho, which had one of the most flavorful broths ever. it was bursting with a peppery, sweet flavor that really stood out to me. the meat was great too but i felt there was not enough of it for ordering a large. the noodles were tasty and soft. my boyfriend loved his grilled pork plate as well and the rice was soft. i would love to come back here and try more items. maybe the garlic noodle with shrimp. the servers were friendly and refilled my water quite often. overall great experience!
google avatar

George C.

Yelp
Came here for quick company lunch and we all liked this place. Egg rolls were flavorful and crispy. I ordered filet mignon pho and i really liked how tender the beef were. Flavorful soup broth, not greasy at all. Phone noodles were perfectly cooked. We all enjoyed the modern and clean designed inside the restaurant and quick service by those friendly staffs. Will be back again later tonight

Yelp
We are fans of the Redondo location closer to Lawndale. This new larger location has more of a restaurant feel whereas the other location is more of a casual cafe. Service has been helpful both times we've been here with great recommendations. The menu has a few new additions since it's opened so ask your server. There are a few less common dishes at Vietnamese restaurants like the Banh Beo Chen, mini rice cakes which I love. Parking in the lot and ADA accessible with the wheelchair ramp at the corner location.

Yelp
So it was a rainy day yesterday and decided to get some pho. Placed my self on the waitlist and took about 10 minutes till I was seated, no problem as it was lunch time. Nice clean spot servers were attentive. The pho was one of the best ones I've tasted the broth was super clean, meats were great. I upgraded to fresh noodles which made the experience better. I do wish they had tendon and tripe lol but no biggie. It was still great.
google avatar

Lily F.

Yelp
I really enjoy the Banh beo chen. It is not a very common vietnamese dish at Viet restaurants so it's nice to be able to order it. I've also gotten their goi cuon (spring rolls) with shrimp and pork and it is well made, with a very homey taste and proportional vermicelli to veggie and meat. Their pho is okay. I'm Vietnamese, and find their pho to be a little on the light side, but still better than a few local Vietnamese restaurants. Their bun bo hue is delicious! Service is good, but it can be very busy because the area the restaurant is located in is extremely busy during lunch and dinner hours. My office is right around the corner, so it makes it easier to just order to-go. Restaurant has good seating, but since it is very busy, it does feel a little chaotic, but of course that's not the restaurant's fault. When I do order takeout, they are very efficient and they do give me a realistic estimate time on when to come back in to get the food.
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
Pho Hue Oi is OPEN ON SUNDAY unlike the other 2 local Pho restaurants in the area. That's a big plus! The service is friendly and food is good for the price, portions, freshness, quality and flavor. Parking is easy.
google avatar

Janet L.

Yelp
Ordered it through Yelp. Order was ready. I would not say it's the best pho out there. There's something missing on the soup. The restaurant inside is very nice. my order was. to go. It served its purpose, got lunch , ate it and that's about it. The taste of food was underwhelming.
google avatar

Yelp
New location! My friend recommended me this place. Although she recommended this restaurant, it was at the different location in Torrance, not this specific location. I live across the street and I recall a Taiko drum celebration on the grand opening of this restaurant. (I think it was for this restaurant, I was at a distance). This place serves pho, banh mi, noodles, lots of sides, vietnamese coffee, and boba. I got the large Pho Tai Filet Mignon ($16.95). The bowl was good size and it was very delicious. It was very flavorful and I don't think it can get any better. Server was good. She came to our table once to offer refill on water and asked if everything was good. Not all restaurant comes around asking for refill on water but this place does. This restaurant shares parking space with other good restaurants. Might have to park in the back. I'm definitely excited to try out their banh mi.
google avatar

Elliot D.

Yelp
The pho was interesting... it didn't match my taste very well. The broth isn't very rich and was quite oily. The meat quality was average for a pho place and the vegetable toppings were a little lacking. The grilled pork banmi is good. Nothing to complain about but also nothing to write home about. The seating is modern and sleek. There is plenty of seating and it's a great place to share a meal. The service is fast and receptive. The main caveat is the fact that the food is not great but this is a great restaurant.
google avatar

Long N.

Yelp
Quick service. Seems popular. Spendy but it is Cali. Crunchy egg rolls. Good size bowl of pho. Plenty of meat to noodles ratio. Actual broth was good. Have had better in the area. Soo much Asian /Viet restaurants to choose from in this area. This was recommended so we tried it. Ambiance is cute, more modern, larger group would be hard to accommodate. Happy eating!

Yelp
Pho Hui Oi was a solid choice after a long travel day. We were seated quickly, though things felt a bit unorganized. Service was okay--not super personable with us, but staff seemed knowledgeable with other tables. Food came out fast. Egg rolls were decent, and the pho was a large, hot, comforting bowl - perfect on a cold night. Definitely recommend paying the extra $2 for fresh noodles for your pho! Overall, quick, tasty, and satisfying.

Yelp
The food is fantastic the vibes are amazing the service is great I really enjoyed it loved the area and the calmness of the place I definitely recommend THE BEST FOOD,DELICIOUS

Yelp
Great pho place in the South Bay. I usually go for the traditional but try their specialty one. Won't regret it. Very flavorful. A bit on the greasier side but not that bad. Service was great and ambience is very clean and modern. Highly recommend and happy that is nearby in Torrance.

Yelp
I like the Redondo Beach location better for their service. Their egg rolls are a bit stingy on lettuce and for the price I didn't feel like it was worth it Pho ga is pretty good. My husband got the garlic noodle with shrimp. It's a bit heavy on the noodle and taste was ok. Pretty crowded right now on weekends and service is a bit slow. The noodles came out before the pho lol, which is weird because pho usually is the first dish to come out. No outdoor dining or seating.
google avatar

Diana I.

Yelp
I've been eagerly waiting for them to open since I'm a fan of the Redondo Beach location. This location is next to Marugame Udon and Board & Brew. My husband and I dined here for lunch on a Wed during their soft opening. Prices are fair and the restaurant overall looks clean with an extensive menu. We shared an order of their spring rolls (2) which came with peanut sauce on the side. The spring rolls were extremely bland without the sauce. I wouldn't get this again. I also tried their regular size Pho Tai Ribeye which was delicious! The broth is SO good and flavorful and I think it's probably the best pho in Torrance area. You can taste a little more of the star anise and it has an authentic flavor compared to other nearby pho places. If I'm ever craving pho, this would be the place I would go. Service could have been better. The workers are not particularly friendly and they don't check on you which I didn't mind too much, but there were little things they could work on. For example, they didn't give us any plates for our spring rolls and there were no condiment plates on the table to put our hoisin/sriracha sauces in. Parking: easy and free in plaza lot
google avatar

Ye Seul J.

Yelp
I used to go to the other location and expected a similar--or better--experience here since it looked clean. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. We were seated quickly, but several issues stood out: -Hygiene concerns When we got our utensils there was a stain near the handle which we just wiped/scraped off with the napkin. Our server kept coughing without covering her mouth, they were small coughs but still disturbing -Rushed and inaccurate service We were rushed to order, and I was given incorrect information about the pho I wanted. -My husband's C3 dish had warm rice and shrimp but cold meats. The egg rolls were also barely warm. I asked for a side of onions and was charged without any heads-up. Lastly the pho had a faint but noticeable "wet rag" smell that was really off-putting. Overall, the meal felt overpriced, unhygienic, and not worth returning for.

Yelp
Was excited to see that Pho Hue Oi finally had their soft opening. Lots of seating and it got pretty busy after we ordered our food. Service was good. Ordered the rib eye banh mi and the large rib eye pho. The banh mi was very yummy, the baguette they used was perfectly crispy and everything tasted super fresh. Just wish there could have been a little bit more meat. For the pho, we upgraded to get the fresh house made noodles (definitely worth the extra $1.50)! The noodles were super bouncy and soft. I thought the portion sizes were a bit on the smaller side. Personally for me, the pho broth was a bit too salty and the soup was a bit underwhelming as I thought it lacked depth/flavor.

Yelp
New and very clean. Came on a Sunday around 2pm, was seated right away. Compared to other reviews, I had no complaints with the service. They're not circling the restaurant as often as American restaurants, but i thought they were attentive for an Asian restaurant. My server was really nice and got me extra onions and cilantro, and kept my water filled. I ordered the summer rolls and filet mignon pho. Both were really delicious. I honestly think it's one of the better places in Torrance. With inflation idk what a reasonable price is for a bowl of pho, but pho here ranges from $13-17

Yelp
I normally go to the one on Inglewood but this one is close to my work. Ordered takeout Bun Bo Hue. Delicious and the staff were incredibly friendly.

Yelp
This is tied for best pho in our area, from a wife of a viet. The service is fast and friendly and the ambiance fits the fast casual vibe. I like to end meal with boba viet coffee too. So good!

Yelp
I frequent the other Redondo Beach location and enjoy it, so thought we would try this new Torrance location for dinner. Got seated right away after walking in. It's nice inside and same menu. The server took our order quickly. My partner got the pho really quickly. In fact at their Redondo Beach location the food always comes out fast but still good. So we wait and wait and wait and my dish still hadn't arrived. My partner finished the entire bowl of pho and I had to flag someone down to ask where my food was. The waitress seemed shocked and realized that it never went into the kitchen. Left a really poor taste in my mouth and ended up leaving. They apologized and offered to start cooking it now for us to take home for free, but the fact that they weren't delayed but hadn't even STARTED cooking my dish?? Admittedly I was annoyed with this unique experience.

Yelp
We had lunch here a few weeks back and I forgot to add a review. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon and there was ample seating and good service. The menu was pretty standard for a pho restaurant and nothing out of the ordinary. We ordered two combination pho and some crispy egg rolls. Egg rolls were average and I've had better, not sure if it's the filling that didn't impress or the accompanying sauces. The pho was not bad and again seemed average for pho restaurants. Soup and toppings were very average. Bottom line, Pho Hue Oi is pretty average and we've had better pho locally, in the Gardena area.

Yelp
Pho Hue Oi recently opened in Torrance, so I decided to try it out. I ordered the pho with brisket. The meat seemed a little overcooked. The broth was fine, but it could have used more spice to give it a bit more flavor. My son got a banh mi to go on a different day. He said it was okay, but nothing to write home about. On the positive side, the table service was good, and the restaurant is clean. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in the area, but there are probably better choices nearby if you're looking for outstanding Vietnamese food.

Yelp
My on line experience was very good-prompt and courteous service. The broth for Pho Tai Filet Mignon was delicious and I especially enjoyed the broth which was fragrant and flavorful. The egg rolls were also tasty. I look forward to trying other dishes here.

Yelp
Very convenient location near the Del Amo mall in the busy Torrance area just off Hawthorne Blvd. It's in a new, clean strip mall with easy parking. It's nice and modern inside. The egg rolls were delicious and authentic tasting with big pieces of lettuce served with it. They came out piping hot with a generous side of fish dipping sauce. The large size pho was a good portion with decent portions of meat in it. The broth was a little on the light side, but still good. What was a miss was the noodles. They were in a lot of small broken pieces that were in clumps and kind of mushy. Usually pho has long strands of noodles that you can pick up and stretch with your chopsticks. Unfortunately, these were small noodle bits that you could barely pick up with chopsticks brocade they were in 1-2 inch pieces. The service was friendly, and the food came out fast. Yet sometimes the service didn't anticipate the guests needs like extra napkins, water refills, share plates for the appetizers, and placing the food down without knowing who ordered what.

Yelp
This location is a lot nicer than the one in Redondo Beach. The food and customer service were excellent. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you.
