"Right on the south-east border of Kensington Market is the best traditional Pho restaurant in the entire downtown area. It's an efficient, no-nonsense dining experience. No tricks: sit, eat, pay, leave. The rare beef is high quality and trimmed. The broth is light and flavourful without being salty. The tea is complimentary. Most important of all, this place is consistent. Perfect for when you feel under the weather." - Charles Lim aka Ched

The beef pho — the broth was rich, aromatic, and deeply flavorful, with tender slices of beef and perfectly cooked rice noodles. It had that comforting homemade taste that makes pho such a classic. We also had crispy spring rolls, which were golden on the outside and packed with tasty fillings. The dipping sauce gave them just the right tangy kick. The grilled chicken wings were smoky, juicy, and seasoned just right — a great appetizer with bold flavor. Overall, this was a nice Vietnamese dining experience. The dishes were well-balanced, full of fresh herbs and spices. I’d definitely come back for another comforting bowl of pho and more of those delicious small plates.

The food is filling, I have dined here before, and one of the reasons I go back is because their broth is delicious! Service is good, though they only accept cash. There is an ATM machine by the entrance, so you can easily withdraw if you need to!

Best pad thai (number 80) ever!!! Fresh rolls are also highly recommendable, as well as the chicken wings. This restaurant is a must-go every time I’m in Toronto!

Been coming here for over 20 years for the food and the atmosphere. It’s a great local hang and the food is delicious. On a cold winter day, there’s nothing better than pho and their broth is particularly good. Also had their curries in the past which were also delicious. Prices are good and it’s all comfort food. Yummy. Forgot to mention, service is also great - very friendly.

Pho Hung offers a dining experience that stands out in the best way. From the moment you step in, the old and vintage vibe of the place draws you in, giving it a cozy, nostalgic charm. While the setting may not be modern, it adds a unique character that makes the experience memorable. One thing that struck me as unique was their ordering system. Instead of the usual menus, we noted down serial numbers from the menu onto a paper to place our order. It was different but easy to follow, adding to the experience. The food and drinks here are what truly shine. I tried both the cold and hot coffee, and they were absolutely on another level. Served with a traditional filter and condensed milk, the flavors were rich and authentic—definitely a highlight. We also ordered some spring rolls and noodles, both of which were delicious and well-prepared. The staff was friendly and added to the welcoming atmosphere, making the visit even more enjoyable. A heads-up: they only accept cash, but they’ve conveniently provided an ATM machine on-site. Overall, Pho Hung is a wonderful spot for anyone looking for great food, a vintage atmosphere, and a unique dining experience. I’d definitely recommend it!

Smashing IT! ✌️🤩✌️ Phở Hưng Restaurant has some of the best and most authentic Vietnamese food in the city. Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, right next door to historical Kensington Market, this delightful and close family knit run restaurant has everything you need and every wanted from a Vietnamese restaurant right in front of you. The hearty soups are great for either a quick lunch or dinner. Wholesome and full of fresh ingredients. Phở Hưng Restaurant also has a unique vibe, always busy and always crowded with all walks of life from different professionals to students, to retire to just passing by. This is the magic of Phở Hưng Restaurant. The atmosphere. Great prices, great food, and an amazing staff to make you're visit a memorable one.

China town is different with 10+ years. Many old restaurants disappeared. HUNG is my number 1 authenic pho in Toronto. $12 for small and $16 for large pho you can't beat other(in my living area is $18 for small pho). The taste is always the same and much meat inside 😋.

It was my first time in years dining at Pho Hung and food is exactly as I remembered and still delicious! I had my usual vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken, veggies and crispy spring roll. They have large and regular size and I got regular which was still filling. Also had their famous fried chicken wings which are fantastic! Highly recommend! The owner said it's a secret recipe they actually got from Buffalo NY. Ambience is always warm and I forgot this Spadina location has an extension that used to be their patio. Fast service and it was nice to see the owner who is usually there. And thankfully it wasn't packed when we got there on a Saturday around 1pm. This restaurant is still a family favourite!

Yelp
I LOVE PHO HUNG. Just don't get the Large bowl because apparently its not that big according to other people but the regular is huge and a very good price. The broth and meats are super flavourful and I bring all of my friends here because it is such a filling and nice dinner spot.

Golds V.

Yelp
This place is always clean, and the food always arrives fast. The staff are very friendly, and the quality of the food has al ways been consistent. This really is soul food when you're feeling sick. My one quarrel with this place is the extremely small wide of their "large soup bowls" this is just terrible. I wish they would just go back to a regular large bowl of soup. This is the smallest "large" pho soup size I've had just about anywhere I've been. Honestly amazing place, but the portion of the soup really really irks me. Also the fried spring rolls are a must try! Incredible every single time.

Yelp
I visited on a Friday night at 6:20 PM, and there were plenty of tables available. I had been debating whether to try this restaurant for a while, and while I'm glad I did, I'll still be going to my favourite Vietnamese spot down the street, Anh Dao. I ordered the bun bo hue, pho, and spring rolls. The bun bo hue tasted more like a spicy pho broth, and the pho reminded me of the broth at the Michelin recommended restaurant on Ossington. Overall, the bun bo hue and spring rolls were just okay, nothing special. The pho was good if you're looking for something simple. They also put a large piece of beef tendon in the pho, which I loved! One thing I didn't like was that the owner seemed to be rushing us to order, which felt a bit off putting. I'd come back for the pho and spring rolls, but I'm not sure about the other dishes.

Yelp
I never knew that Asian food in Canada was like really fierce. A1 phô spot. Really great location, perfect for people watching if you're seated by the window.

Zi C.

Yelp
One of the most affordable pho in Toronto. I always live for their broth. It is very umami and a rich taste to it. Their portions are generous with a good amount of meat. The environment is like any other Asian restaurant. You are there for the food taste and not really for the atmosphere. The service was super quick. Within minutes of ordering, the food came right out. We absolutely recommend getting the 3 layer ice drink for the summer. It's the perfect dessert in a cup!

Eileen L.

Yelp
Edit 2024: Always busy pho spot located on Spadina. They have a lot of tables available and the service here is so fast. Washrooms are in the basement. Can't go wrong with their pho! All their dishes are affordable. 2018 Had to share a 2 person table with a stranger. Good pho and prices, though

Yelp
What we had: PHỞ HƯNG ĐẶC BIỆT: Hung's Special Beef Rice Noodle Soup (Beef broth), Rare Beef, Well Done Lean Brisket, Tendon, Tripe, Beef Balls (small) $12 GỎI CUỐN: Fresh Salad Rolls with Shrimp (regular) $7 Taste: 4/5 The pho was pretty filling, with a good variety of beef. The broth was alright. I loved the salad rolls. It was so fresh. And the resto was very generous with the huge chunks of shrimp. Vibe: 3.5/5 Pretty clean and homey. I love the window seats. It feels pretty cozy when the sunlight shines through. Service: 3.5/5 Food was served in about 5 mins. Pretty fast. The servers were polite.

Cindy D.

Yelp
Came here during my work break and was glad the service here was quick because 3 of my coworker's orders came out within 10 minutes. Mine, on the other hand, took a bit longer which was fine because I eat fast. The soup was packed with lots of flavour and it was not bland at all. It came with a good amount of bean sprouts, mint and cilantro. Good portion, good amount of meat, I was full at the end of it and still had a bit of soup left. My coworkers got the grilled pork with egg quiche and rice and all 3 of them enjoyed their meal.

Gayan P.

Yelp
Fast, delicious, and clean. Compared to some of the neighboring pho places on the street, I feel like this is the cleanest. That makes it more inviting and it's become a default when we want pho around the area and don't want to search. There's public parking around the area but on a busy day Spadina street parking and nearby municipal parking can be tricky. Service is fast. Not a lot more to say than that... They get the job done. They have an extensive menu. The bun bo hue and other dishes we've had here have all been good.

Jason B.

Yelp
Pho Hung has been one of my GoTo places for Vietnamese cafeteria style dining in Toronto for 25 years. My favourite dishes centre on vermicelli plates or pho with either tofu or chicken. I've never had a mediocre experience here - the food is consistently good, served quickly.

Honest A.

Yelp
Best pho ever. Soup is balanced and clear/ strained. Noodles are made from fresh (not rehydrated dry) noodles and there is a nice variety of beef. The fried rice is on point - moist, but not greasy. Don't know how they get the eggs into the little bits that they do. Staff are friendly and we love how open and light-filled the dining area is.

Martin S.

Yelp
Pho Hung has been a fixture in downtown Chinatown for decades now and their tentacles of influence go deep and wide around the area with connections throughout the Viet restaurant community in the area. For example when I heard local chit chat about a new pho joint on College St (Pho Hanoi) their aim was to beat Pho Hung at their own game and steal business from them. You know you're good when you've got a target on your back. It's typical VN food here, nothing that stands out, although I did order a memorable dish once years ago which was the mint beef wraps. It's a DIY deal with the wraps in a funky steam container to keep them moist. Very cool. Their drinks are awesome, so no need to order a boring can of Coke. You can get a delicious lime drink for $3 instead so don't be a chump. There's also a big veggie section for your vegan buddies and the veg rolls that come with the Bun are fantastic (see my picture). Long live Pho Hung and good to see pops still hanging out and acting like a Wal Mart greeter at the door. Hope this never ends as it's a part of Toronto that I love.

Edward J.

Yelp
Sticker shocker! Pho has traditionally been a massive bowl of soup with a cornucopia of noodles and toppings. I was extremely disappointed by the larger pho. In fact, they should call it a medium for $15. Perhaps. $20 for a large may not be what they want - who knows. I just know I was extremely disappointed with their pho portions. The rare beef is silky smooth and delicious. The pho itself is - just - ok. The broth is flavourful. Unfortunately, their serving size is a fraction of what one would expect from a pho restaurant.

Daniel D.

Yelp
got the #1 large ($16). broth was pretty good not too salty and there was a lot of variety in the beef.

Dianna C.

Yelp
Good food and service! I was surprised you have order pho with all the meats (vs. only rare beef). It's also more expensive than I expected. The vermecelli was good though! The spring roll is very crispy and a good portion size. The servers are friendly. The only downside is there is a step to get into the restaurant, so not the most accessible if you have a stroller or wheelchair.

Vivian C.

Yelp
At the time of writing, this place definitely deserves more than the 3.2 stars it is getting on Yelp. Pho Hung offers a reasonably priced menu that is full of abundant + authentic Vietnamese food options. If you would like to have fast, delicious, and good value of pho, Pho Hung is your choice. Let's face it, Toronto has a lot of Vietnamese pho places, so many that sometimes you just don't know which area to go / which one to choose. You want authentic ones while not being ripped off just because it is soothing to have a bowl of good + hot noodles after a long day/week/night. Pho Hung offers just that! I am actually so happy to have their pho, so consistently as expected. I know what to expect every time. I know how much to pay every time. I know they are fast so I won't be late for whatever next I am doing. One thing I gotta be honest, they are not good with customized orders: I asked for Bun Bo Hue with pho noodles instead of the usual thicker noodles that comes with, they missed it. But the Bun Bo Hue tasted so good that it did not matter. I will come back for the $12 regular sized Bun Ho Hue even if they miss the customization because it is that good :)

Keith L.

Yelp
There's a reason why they have Pho Hung around for so long in Toronto: good, consistent, flavourful food. They aren't the best in city but they sure satisfy your Viet cravings. Get the pho but also try their various other noodle soups, vermicelli bowls, and other specialties! Come here for just the food, not the service or "ambiance".

Yi L.

Yelp
Cash only. No card accepted even debit card. Didn't say anything before I ate. I have to withdraw money from the atm machine in the restaurant, which charges a fee. Is this their way of making money? Food is ok. Bad service. Definitely avoid!

Helen H.

Yelp
I used to come here often as a kid and I find that the service has really gone down a lot since then. I came here on a Thursday evening with a friend. It wasn't busy so we were able to be seated right away. The tables are way too close to each other. I'm of small stature and still, I didn't think I could fit at the table we were originally seated at since there was no room to move the chair back an inch. Fortunately we were reseated elsewhere, however later on, a group was seated at the table beside us and they were so close, they easily probably breathe on me if they wanted. The food was pretty average and not as amazing as I remember it being as a kid. The portion was small for a relatively high price. The service was awful. We ordered dessert and they asked if we wanted it prepared later, which we agreed. After our main course, we literally waited half an hour for dessert. I asked one of the waiters initially to which he responded, "if we are not sold out, it will come, be patient." 15 minutes later, we were still waiting and the waiter didn't even bother checking with the kitchen. I suppose some may find it nice they'll let you chill there forever after your meal is clearly done. I then asked another waitress who had a panicked look on her face when she realized we were still waiting for dessert. It was then made (we could hear the blender crushing the ice) and arrived in 5 mins after that without any apology.

Jason C.

Yelp
About average pho place. probably closer to 3.5 stars. Would recommend if you have a pho craving and are in the area but not my first choice otherwise. to start off, they have socially distanced tables, staff are very helpful and nice. Service was good rather it was refilling water or answering questions. However, it is cash only and if you don't have, you just have to use the ATM which is pretty inconvenient esp considering there's still covid restrictions. Food is decent, not much to say about it, it's just pho. I got the large one and got all rare beef. It was pretty standard and I enjoyed it but it was a bit pricey ($14) compare to other meals in the area. Is a nice place if you're in the area and craving pho but not my first choice for food overall.

Sharon Y.

Yelp
Got the House special pho with satay. The satay is a sauce served on the side and I highly recommend it, it adds a great kick to the soup. I will warn though that it is quite spicy. I got the regular size and I was surprised at how little noodles were in the dish, I definitely wish I got the large size instead. I ultimately had to add a side of noodles because it wasn't enough food even though I wasn't even *that* hungry. Overall the pho was decent, not the best I've had but also not the worst. Overall I'd give it a 7.5/10, but I'm docking points for the fact that the serving was quite small and they are cash only which is kind of inconvenient.

Cheryl H.

Yelp
Craving great vale of Vietnamese cuisine in the place, we totally three people, get actually quite a lot, Deep-fried Chicken Wing with Fish Sauce: Really rich in flavour, dish is served alongside coconut sticky rice, which I really enjoy. Mango & Shrimp Salad: The mango and shrimp salad offers a delightful contrast of flavors and textures. While the shrimp might be petite, the salad itself is refreshingly vibrant. Fine Rice Vermicelli with Grilled Pork and Grilled Chicken with Grilled Shrimp on Sugar Cane: love this so much , transform my perception of "cold rolls"!! Freshness is the key to this dish's success. The hot and savory grilled pork and chicken, when combined with crisp vegetables and rice vermicelli, yum!! Rare Beef with Well-Done Flank and Beef Balls Rice Noodle Soup: Delve into the comforting flavors of a traditional dish. The rich and heartwarming broth! Special Vermicelli: This dish is another personal favorite. It features a delightful medley of beef, pork, deep-fried pork spring rolls, and grilled shrimp on sugar cane. Durian Milkshake: For all the durian enthusiasts, this milkshake is a must-try item Filtered Coffee with Condensed Milk & Ice

Pietra M.

Yelp
I will start saying: HUGE PORTIONS and GOOD PRICE! Convinced you already? Great! But keep reading! The place is very simple, regular clean, the service is kinda bad (that's the missing star in my review). But the worth of going to this spot is that you will get very big portions (I mean it, the plates that are supposed to be for one person feeds two people easily!). And even better if you compare the portions to the price, it's cheap! The quality of the food is surprisingly (because of the price) great, it's very fresh. They seem to make everything by order. I do recommend! :)

Angela L.

Yelp
Pho hung is one of my favourite pho places to go, it's cheap and their broth is flavourful and not bland. Service is also very quick and friendly. This is definitely a place I frequent whenever I want pho!

Arnold L.

Yelp
Pho Hung has been a staple in the Toronto Chinatown community for of course their pho and Vietnamese classics. I have heard many stories about this place of its existence since my parents came to Toronto in the late 1980s! Of course in my last visit, I ordered the one thing they are known for: pho! The broth had a lot of flavour and was clear (not an easy thing for many pho restaurants to achieve). The temperature of the broth was perfect to delicately poach the rare beef slices when it comes straight to your table. It's the perfect bowl of pho if you're looking to combat the chilly weather in Toronto. In addition to pho, my friend and I split an order of their Fried Spring Rolls. The spring rolls were delicious. The filling was generous for the price we paid (2 rolls for $5.00) and it was fried to a nice crisp without them being too greasy to consume. The service was great. I don't know why many people bash their service as the servers are quite friendly. Their English is passable and it takes a little patience for them to understand what you want. Also, this place is CASH only, so be sure to bring some bills unless you want to pay for the ATM charges in their machine downstairs. Overall, I was quite pleased with my visit and I can't wait to be back again!

Olivia C.

Yelp
First and foremost, the mango smoothie is out of this world. I got the regular size, and the serving is massiveee. I felt both thrilled and shooked. It tasted amazing too! Food: I had pho and spring rolls, and they tasted just like pho and spring rolls, which meant they were delicious! because pho is just fantastic in general. My friend noted that they used to be better in terms of flavour, but I thought it was still delicious. Pricing is reasonable in my perspective, much more reasonable than at other pho restaurants out there. Overall, will definitely come back.  The only disadvantage is that they only take cash, so pack cash if you want to come!

Nathalie M.

Yelp
My review is only for their durian smoothie. If you love durian, you'll love this smoothie. It's nice and fresh and the durian flavor is just how it's supposed to be. Not too weak. So happy they re opened after all this time !

Ryan B.

Yelp
Although the location looks sketchy. Don't judge a book by its cover. The food is great. I ordered the lemongrass curry chicken. It was absolutely amazing. This isn't a 5 star restaurant. Don't expect the best service. But enjoy the delicious food with a real good price point.

Naz K.

Yelp
This is the only pho place I've been to in Toronto but it's so great that I always come back to the same location. The staff is friendly, food is delicious and a good price for huge portions, and the restaurant is at a great spot on spadina avenue. One thing I hope to see changed is the chop sticks being placed out in the open on the tables. Anyone can touch or dirty the chopsticks which can really get future customers sick. We recently had the following: 1. Grilled shrimp with spring roll, vermicelli and vegetables 8/10: the spring role was crispy, and flavourfuland it paired nicely with the sweet and salt sauce on the side. 2. Hot beef and pork vermicelli soup 8/10: this was also a great dish, the spice level was high but enjoyable for me (I don't usually eat spicy foods).

Suzanne M.

Yelp
We made a 730 reservation on Saturday night. Thank goodness. Place was packed. There were 5 of us. You write the items you want to order on a slip of paper and the server takes that to the kitchen. You need to remember what you ordered, otherwise you could eat someone else food. No biggie. Food is plentiful and hot. Delicious. Reasonable price. Authentic flavours. Is cash only. I got Wonton soup and fresh spring rolls. Dan got pork fried rice and a tofu wrapped pork and shrimp dish. It was a great dinner!

Karen Y.

Yelp
Bun Rieu was delicious. We had a hitlist while touristing in Toronto, one was to try the plentiful of Viet places with Bun Rieu as an offering. Pho Hung fit the bill. It's almost historic (it's old...) looking, with 2 dining spaces, one looks to be an added extension; lots of regulars, and the aroma of beef broth seeping out the door. AND we were in desperate need of something warm! Thunderstorm came in and decided to stay... ugh. We order spring rolls, a large bowl of the infamously #1 (brisket, beef ball, tripes) and 2 Bun Rieu, with tons of goodies such as pigs' feet, viet ham, pigs' blood in a yummy crab paste soup. It's not for everyone but definitely for a foodie willing to explore! #1 was OK according to my friend but nothing NYC couldn't offer! The spring rolls were just OK, not as crispy as we're used to. We did get 2 Salted Plums soda!! That was refreshing! As for the Bun Rieu, the broth was robust and very fragrant; and it just warms our belly and made our soggy night a little less gross... a little more enjoyable!

Geraldine G.

Yelp
This spot has been around forever it seems. I like to call it the McDonalds of Vietnamese food. It's fast, flavourful and filling. A book filled with a large variety of Vietnamese comfort food can make your head spin for choosing but you'll find something. After you do, you often find you have a choice of size. Have to say, the large version of a pho soup bowl is gigantic but if it's winter you'll be happy. It's not a place people seem to linger for very long. Much like everyone else says. It definitely has that vibe. It's not the cleanest or best place but they do their thing really well and really fast.

Katherine F.

Yelp
3.75/5 - the fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce came quickly, but unfortunately the noodles inside were dry and definitely not fresh. the sauce was a bit thin but flavorful. - the bun bo hue (#14) was the highlight. the broth was nice a spicy but not overwhelming and the regular portion was great. it would have been better if the quality of meat was better, since it included a lot of fatty/ cartilage pieces. but, the noodles were nicely cooked and the overall taste was good. - the shaken beef (#73) was nicely charred, adding a deeper smoky flavor. it came with onions, mushrooms, and red peppers and the chunks of meet were nice and big. the meet was cooked medium rare but it tasted dry. the meat quality also wasn't the best so the larger pieces were pretty chewy. - the place is very busy but our food came quick and with free hot tea. the servers were not very friendly but they came when we called them over. - the space is pretty large but crowded. you can't one alone or with a group but be expected to wait if you come during peak hours. they have a restroom and are cash-only.

Samuel T.

Yelp
Can't beat this value for money. If you have a pho craving, this will scratch the itch and the atmosphere is very local and cozy. Will be back many times.

Peter V.

Yelp
This place is awesome -- I've never had a bad meal here in all of my 15 years being a patron. You seriously can't go wrong! I tried Pho Hà Nội tonight and regret it so much... I will never stray again ...

Kerry W.

Yelp
Pho Hung is one of my favourite Vietnamese restaurants. Granted that it is usually busy and line ups are unavoidable at times, but this is a sure sign that the food at this place is good, right?! I ordered Hung's large bowl of special Beef Rice Noodle Soup with both rare and well done beef tendons and tripe ($9). And indeed, the bowl fits its size description on the menu! The soup is delicious, and there are enough meat and veggies that many restaurants tend to chintz out on. The service is fast so my stomach is a happy customer when the food is planted in front of me !!!!

Lei L.

Yelp
Drop in almost 9pm and less people. Really like fried eggplant & Tofu, must dip with the special sauce. Yummy! Noddle is not too hot, but very tasty with veggies, not bad

Alex F.

Yelp
Yuk for the food and yuk for the service... so.. Yuk yuk! Ordered 3 noodles, meat was all super fatty and had so much tendon in it that it wasn't even edible. We also ordered a string beans with garlic. It had some yucky black palm sugar oil which was clumpy and nasty. Service? What service... gotta ask someone to come help you as if you were bothering them. We are NY'ers... and we came to Toronto to have amazing Dim Sum and amazing Cantonese food, both of which Toronto does very well... but this place for Vietnamese food is horrible!

Christina C.

Yelp
Patience is key, let's start there. I've been here a few times and i've brought friends, boyfriends and ex boyfriends and they hardly had any complaints. Food is great. Customer service is decent (with the fact that alot of the servers don't speak english/hardly know alot of english. This is where i say you need to have patience. Prices are cheap and the food comes out of the kitchen fairly quickly. Get ready to write down your order on a piece of paper (they wont give you a whole run down of the procedure). CASH ONLY - you better keep some on hand before you go or you can visit the ATM downstairs. I wouldn't fully knock this place until you try it! PATIENCE IS KEY - and having an understanding that there is abit of a language barrier which can affect the customer service experience. All and all, i'd recommend you try this place out! *For reference, my vermicelli noodle dish seen in the photo (first bowl or the one on the left) is a size small. They do have an option of SMALL and LARGE dishes.*

Michelle D.

Yelp
I had high expectations for Pho Hung seeing how packed it is everytime I walked by. So I got the XL pho dac biet and I found that the broth wasn't as flavourful with a strong anise flavour as other pho places. The XL bowl was very filling but the meal wasn't as hearty as I would have liked. There is also a good portion of meat. I probably won't return because there are better Vietnamese restaurants in walking distance. Though worth noting that efficiency here is pretty top notch, with the hustle and bustle, food comes out within 5-10 minutes which is good.

Savanah D.

Yelp
Dining on a budget? This is the place for you! Pho Hung has the best Vietnamese food in the Toronto. Pho Hung is the perfect cure no matter how hungry you are. Their broth is a flawless balance of salty, sweetness and richness, plus there is always a great amount of beef and noodles. If I am not in the mood for pho, I will often choose the Vermicelli and Salad Bowl with Shrimp and Chicken. This cold bowl is light but still hearty and the pieces of sugar cane are a nice touch. Don't let the "small" portion option and price fool you - there's nothing small about it. If you are feeling adventurous, I would also recommend the Avocado Smoothie. The washrooms are a little dingy and could use a more frequent clean but that is my only complaint. Don't forget Pho Hung is cash only but I swear no matter how much you order, it's under $20.

Yelp
2.5 stars I heard about this place since it was listed as one of the best Vietnamese places in Toronto. I decided to bookmark the place since the price looked reasonable and got OK ratings. I got the pho with semi-cooked beef with beef meatballs. I thought the pho was OK and it's probably not the best pho in the world. I have experienced much more delicious pho at other places. My boyfriend got the vermicelli noodles and he said he enjoyed it. The service could HAVE BEEN a lot better tho. We were out-of-towners and we didn't know we had to got down what we wanted on the piece of paper. It took us awhile to flag down a waitress. The staff weren't friendly as well. It wasn't a great experience for us that day.

Yelp
Good prices and good portions. The staff are not fussy and service is quick-exactly how you know its a good asian restaurant. Always love a good viet iced coffee!

Yelp
This place is a solid 3.5/5. I had the Pho Dac Biet and it was tasteful and decent size for a regular. The service is non existent and you can tell when a restaurant has been around for awhile they just treat the customers like another number, high turnover, in and out service. Don't expect anything more than a good meal which is exactly what I came for. Imagine if they put even a small effort into customer service. Viet coffee was very good. Strong. Cash only.

Yelp
I have been eating at this place for more than half my life. We used to go to the one on Bloor until it became a condo and would venture to the Spadina one on the weekends. I looooooove this place, Tony and his family are awesome and always make me feel welcome. Usually get my rare beef pho, cold shrimp rolls, iced coffee and then take come more rolls and either a curry or a cold vermicelli dish for the next day's lunch. In the winter or when you feel a cold coming on it's the best comfort food on the planet

Yelp
It was a cold and rainy evening so my boyfriend and I both agreed that nothing could beat a hot bowl of Vietnamese noodle soup in weather like this, so we headed to Pho Hung. Location: 5/5 Convenient location in Chinatown. If you're commuting, the restaurant is a few blocks up north of Spadina from Spadina & Dundas. Service: 3.5/5 Service is quick and efficient. However, staffs were not very attentive which was understandable since they kept having customers coming in. Other than that, service is no better than what you'd expect from Chinatown kind of restaurants. Food: 4/5 My boyfriend had a large Bun Bo Hue and I got myself a small Bun Rieu. Quantity wise, there's not much difference from a small size to a large. The Bun Bo Hue is very aromatic as the broth is infused with the traditional Viet spices (cinnamon, star anise, etc.) Also, for $11, they gave generous amount of meat in the soup. My boyfriend loved it. For my Bun Rieu, it was great! I've got no complaints except the fact that the broth is not very potent. The crab paste (which is the essence that makes up an authentic bowl of bun rieu) is almost absent and it's mainly the sourness from tomatoes. Aside from that, everything is decent. Price: 4/5 Cheap Viet eats. However, it's 2019 and they still only accept cash. Overall: Will only be back if I'm craving for Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu. Other than that, I've tried their pho and vermicelli and they are all below average.

Yelp
It has been a while since I have had the pho here but the flavour hasn't changed. The atmosphere though has, a victim of covid. But kudos to taking the protocols seriously and sticking with them. So a forewarning, you need ID, proof of vaccination, they want contact tracing info, but you do get to eat inside. Plus it's a cash only place. Just in case you miss the sign. Food hasn't changed much. I like my beef well not rare but that's a personal choice. I also like the brisket and the special. I'm surprised by the number of people who leave the soup behind. If they knew the work and care that goes into a good pho broth, they would enjoy it more and finish with near empty bowls. I'm hoping that this place sticks around because I like their food and prices. A solid 3.75/5 stars .
