The Best Food at Nola Nite Market’s Lunar New Year Festival | Eater New Orleans

"I’d order bánh bèo (water fern cakes) and bánh tôm (potato shrimp fritters), and they’re also serving coconut juice at Huong Que." - Justine Jones

Google
Very delicious, loved the pho it came with a perfect amount of garnishes, the place had these really nice sweet pickles and extra spicy sambal and Sriracha. The tea was not served in a tea cup which I thought was a bit funky lol. The pho flavor had just the right amount of complexity, not overly distinct on any particular spice, just the right blend. There was a nice amount of meat served with the regular size. The restaurant gets a lot of natural light and has friendly and quick service. I liked the overall dining experience and was pretty happy with the food.

Google
The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were super friendly. It’s definitely one of those spots where you can tell they really care about the food they’re serving. We’ll definitely be back soon. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Google
Pho Huong Que serves up a comforting, well-balanced bowl of pho with rich broth, tender meat, and fresh herbs—everything you’d want from a no-frills Vietnamese spot. The flavors are clean and satisfying, and the portions are generous without being overwhelming. What makes this place stand out even more is the convenience of on-site parking—a huge plus in a neighborhood that can feel a bit rough around the edges. Despite the surrounding area, the restaurant itself feels safe, clean, and welcoming inside. Service is quick and efficient, and prices are fair for the quality. It’s not a fancy spot, but it doesn’t need to be. When you’re craving a warm, honest bowl of pho, this place hits the spot.

Google
Food was mid. It was especially hard to enjoy the food when the bus boy was clearing tables so close to us. He was just throwing the bowls into a bin and I could feel drops from the bin being splashed onto me.

Google
I tried their Mango Salad and highly recommend it to open up your appetite and start your meal! I had their Special Combo - Pho Dac Biet, which includes rare steak, well-done flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatball noodle soup. The broth has a unique taste, leaning towards the sweeter side compared to other pho I've had before. It's definitely worth a try! The portion is huge, and the price is really decent and affordable. There's a small parking lot behind the restaurant available for customers!

Google
One of my favorite restaurants in Oakland. Everything is fresh and there is a lot of thought in the preparation of each dish. We had the mango salad, spring rolls, beef pho, and meat over vermicelli.

Google
Great place for pho and some other Vietnamese staples. The renovated space is very nice and bright with windows all around. There is a small parking lot associated with the restaurant which makes parking easier.

Edison H.

Google
Low-key spot that seems to be a locals favorite. The pho wasn't overpriced like San Francisco. Ordered the basic pho dac biet (large). The broth was good, the meat was kinda dried, and the portion size was good. Wanted to order the iced coffee, but we saw they were premade in the fridge. Well it isn't the end of the world.. just something we would've wanted fresh. Think there's an extra fee for using a credit card. I didn't see that mentioned anywhere so hoping I didn't miss it.

Yelp
First time coming here with my daughters and I think we just found our new pho spot! Small little shop with no frills but workers were attentive and food came quickly and delicious. The fried egg rolls were also really good as was the chicken pho. Most places that I've been to, their chicken pho were really bland and just eh, so I was stoked that theirs had flavor and those grilled onions they included made it just that more yummy!! Would definitely recommending you try them out.

Yelp
One of the best vietnamese spots I've visited in a while! Well Oakland does have great Asian food. I got a few apps and the dry noodles. So delicious! Great flavors and the broth it came with was super tasty. Mango salad 10/10. Beautiful presentation and delicious. The fish cake looked burned, not sure if that's how it should look but wasn't a fan. Otherwise staff was great, patient and prices were fair. Another uh-oh was the hallway leading up to the bathroom was super wet, totally could have slipped or end up with real sticky shoes. Would definitley come back!

Yelp
12/10. Pho never fails to make me happy, but this place was especially impressive. What stood out to me was that the noodles were SLIGHTLY chewier than normal, which elevated textural contrast. Of course, the broth was the star of the show, which we were able to smell before we even entered the restaurant. My boyfriend, who is a San Jose native (aka pho expert), also approved. Meat quality could have been a little better, but this is only if I HAD to nitpick at something.
google avatar

Yelp
When I loved in Oakland for a year this was the OG spot. The best pho and bun bo hue in the area for miles. Close to Lake Merritt with their own parking lot. The surrounding area can be sketchy so keep an eye on your car and belongings but otherwise, enjoy the good food here.

Yelp
We were craving some spring rolls and decided to try this restaurant out. We ordered through the phone for pick up. There is a parking lot. We got the shrimp spring roll and the nem ones. They were pretty decent for their price. I really liked their peanut sauce that they have on the side for you to dip. We also got the wings. These were delicious! Very crispy if you eat it fresh.
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
The broth is sooo good- on the sweeter side which is a plus for me! Generous portion sizing for a regular. They also had the nem nuong spring rolls- delicious! Parking - small lot and free street parking! No frills, simple pho restaurant with family working there- love to see it! Friendly service too!
google avatar

Jacie N.

Yelp
Pho was good, rice plate was also delicious. Authentic flavors and taste. The nuoc mam was good (read: savory, not sweet) which can really make or break a meal. The tai in the pho was slightly overdone so it was a bit tough. The Vietnamese coffee was delicious! Staff was friendly. The general vibe of the restaurant is pretty typical of many Vietnamese mom and pops (no frills, cleaner than many actually). 4% surcharge for credit cards. There is a parking lot.
google avatar

Yelp
Got the Bun Bo Hue here and was disappointed as an avid BBH enjoyer. It tasted a bit bland (like maybe it wasn't brewed long enough?) and it lacked spice. When I ordered, they had messed up my order and gave me pho instead of Bun Bo Hue. I should've just eaten the pho instead of asking the server what happened to my order. The thai tea was delicious though!!

Yelp
This place is one of my go to spots for pho or rice plates - I usually order to go and they package it very nicely! The pho broth just hits the spot, flavorful but not too overpowering. I typically order a regular Pho Tai (sliced beef pho) and it's quite filling! My partner usually gets the large version and they do not skimp on the meat when you order large. They always give a great ratio of meat to noodles. Their rice plates are also very delicious! I highly recommend the grilled beef rice place with egg rolls. I suggest to skip the grilled chicken rice plate as the chicken isn't as flavorful as the grilled beef.
google avatar

Yelp
Wanted pho on a rainy day and this place hit the spot. Ordered spring rolls and their rare steak pho. Reasonably priced and although free man their water is so refreshing - they put lemon and mint in it. Fire lol.

Yelp
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. Quality/Quantity - Today I got: #49 Com Suon, Bi, Cha. Grilled Pork Chop, Shredded Pork, Egg Cake Over Rice - The pork chop was overcooked/dry. The shredded pork was the hit of the dish. And love that "broken" rice. Well, I did crave rice today. Next time I will get pho, as that is in the name of the business. Decent size menu, with decent options. See pictures. Atmosphere - Small local business. Mostly indoor seating and 3 small tables outdoors. Small private parking lot, important in this neighborhood. That alone might justify eating here, lol. Open 6 days a week from 9:30am to 8pm, closed Wednesdays. One clean unisex restroom. Service - I was greeted when I walked in, they took my order and I never saw them again?!?! Plenty of "family" employees, I counted 6-7 people. They outnumbered us customers. I asked for more fish sauce from the "bus boy" but he did not understand me. Finally one of the other 6 people overheard and came to help me. The busboy was the hardest worker. In summary, you get what you ask for, you just have to go out of your way to ask. Must pay upfront (counter service). Price - $16 + generous tip, reasonably priced for what I got. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018. If your service improved, I can see how and why you have good ratings.

Yelp
Third time coming here and it's always as delicious as the first. They have a small parking lot and we went around 4pm so it was relatively empty. We ordered two phos and 1 order of egg rolls. I really appreciate that you are able to get whatever kind of meat they offer in your pho cause they offer all variations. Everything came out super hot, fresh and flavorful. Their pho broth is above the rest! Their space is quite clean and they are speedy with their service.

Yelp
Both rolls I tried (mixed veggie and tofu) were warm. I was surprised, but pleasantly surprised because I like hot food vs. cold. So both rolls were a nice change from the traditional chilled version. I wish they had a vegan fish sauce instead of only sweet chili sauce for the rolls, but not a deal breaker. The veggie pho broth was hearty and made my tummy smile. It was so good, I couldn't stop eating it. Private parking lot make dining here convenient. The staff members were really nice and attentive. Prices very reasonable. I'd go out of my way to dine here again.

Yelp
Me and my boyfriends new go to!! There's a small parking lot in the back. We came here around 6pm and there was a good amount of people inside. It was clean inside which I enjoyed. We sat and ordered chicken wings, a rice plate and pho. The chicken wings were really solid -- crispy, hot, flavorful! Really enjoyed this dish. The rice plate was also super flavorful. The sunny side up egg had crispy edges but was a little too salty. Everything else was seasoned perfectly and each bite was delicious. The meat was tender, the pork skin was savory and the egg cake was spongy and good. The pho was solid!! The broth was umami, the noodles were cooked perfectly and the meat was meaty. Everything was delicious and had perfect flavor harmony. Overall such a good place, good portions and good prices. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Pro tip: they charge a small fee (4%) for paying with credit card so bring cash! Loved my dinner at Pho Huong Que. My friend and I stopped by for dinner Saturday evening around 6 and it wasn't too crowded. The ambiance here is your standard no frills Asian restaurant vibe. It's clean and didn't feel crowded. We got seated promptly and started perusing the menu, which has many pages including two pages fully dedicated to vegetarian options. They offer a wide variety of dishes including pho and other noodle soups, vermicelli bowls, and rice plates. I had trouble deciding what to get and settled on the #65 com thit tom cha (grilled pork, grilled shrimp, egg cake over rice) for $14.25. This really hit the spot for me. The pork and shrimp were extremely flavorful, and I was in love with the egg cake and wish I had more pieces of it. Portions were good too; I was barely able to finish the whole plate and was stuffed after. My friend really enjoyed his B4 bun ga cha gio (grilled chicken and egg roll over vermicelli) for $13.95 as well. Would definitely come back here again next time we're in the mood for Vietnamese!

Yelp
Pho hits every time. Staff is great, a great spot for family and guests when they are visiting from out of town.

Yelp
If there is one thing you have to get here, it's the pho. The broth is clean, aromatic and flavorful. All you need to add are the greens and lime, and you're all set. This is saying a lot coming from a girl who loves her noodz with all the fixings (hoisin sauce, sriracha, chili oil, pickled jalapenos, etc). The broth was just so rich and delightful, it was the perfect thing to eat on a cold morning. If there's a second thing you need to eat here, it's the mango salad. Make sure you toss it together before you eat it, so all the sweet dressing coats the salad. It has a teensy bit of heat, but I would have liked it a bit spicier. I took this to go and it was delicious the next day The veggies really hold up even with the dressing. The pork rice plate was okay... it came with an egg roll but no egg? Maybe I should have went with the pork chop instead, because the pork I had was very lean, and thin.. They were pretty skimpy. Flavor was good though. They don't do combo plates here btw so if you're looking for the pork chop, egg roll, and wings combo (IYKYK), it doesn't exist here :( If you really want rice, this is a solid option but far from the best I've ever had. I love that they serve you the fresh coconut with a spoon so you can eat the inside when you're done drinking the juice. My avocado shake was perfectly blended, and not too sweet. Super creamy! Service is fine, just don't expect too much. The inside is medium sized, with lots of windows. They do have a little bit of outdoor seating but the view isn't great lol FYI - They have a small lot, and there's some street parking too.

Yelp
Pho to me is all about the broth, and Pho Huong Que makes an amazing broth. Savory, clean-tasting, fragrant, and infused with traditional spices such as cloves, anise, and cinnamon. Add some basil, jalapeno, and lemon, and *muah chef's kiss*. You better believe I leave the bowl empty. I typically go for the #1 Special Combo or #19 without tripe - regular size should be enough to make you full. Meat portions are good, and I like the textural contrasts between the tender brisket, chewier rare steak, and juicy meatballs. On occasion, or when I'm sick, I'll get the #36 Chicken and Shrimp pho, which is less aromatic than the beef pho but still great. I do wish they had a ginger scallion sauce like Pho Ga Huong Que, but this is trivial, especially when they have pickled garlic on the side! I've never waited for a table, even during the weekends, and service is fairly quick. Parking is also easy - mostly park in their lot or find nearby street parking. While there are many other pho spots to explore in east Oakland, it's hard to resist the deliciousness and consistency of Pho Huong Que.

Yelp
Recognized this building from back when it was Pho Ao Sen and was excited to try out Pho Huong Que seeing its high ratings. This place is also worth trying if you're vegetarian or just one of those apparently rare people who don't like beef and generally prefer poultry, tofu and veggies like me. Their veg menu is quite extensive for a Vietnamese restaurant and they actually have 3 different vegetarian fresh spring roll choices which makes them heroes in my book. It seems a lot of reviewers rave about their broth but I have to say it was sweeter than most pho broths I've tried. After reading more of the reviews here it seems a couple of others have also commented on this. So if you like a touch of sweetness definitely check it out but I don't usually like sweet in my savory so it's not to my taste. Interestingly the Pho ga we tried on our second visit seemed less sweet than the beef or veg broth. Although the few menu items I've tried (other than the veg fresh spring rolls!) haven't quite suited my overly specific and picky palate, there are still a few options I'm excited to try, so I'll be back- especially since this is a no nonsense dining experience where the focus is on providing fresh food in good portions at a good value- just the way I like it. Quick and friendly service as well :-)

Yelp
I just had the most delicious bun from this restaurant. Every element of the dish was perfection -- from the way the meat was marinated and grilled to the way the shallots were fried, the scallions sautéed, and the peanuts roasted. The herbs and veg were bright and crispy and the noodles were bouncy. No, I don't care an iota that I ruined my favorite shirt by splashing fish sauce on it; the sauce was absolutely delicious and worth 5 more shirts. I also had their amazing vegetarian spring roll with the most umami, mushroom noodles and heavenly seasoned tofu, all balanced with fresh herbs and a dipping sauce I wanted to drink. Scheming about my next meal from Pho Huong Que.

Yelp
We were in the area and wanted to eat pho. We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. It has its own little parking lot on the side I really liked that. There was some tables outside. The place isn't too big but enough seating. The service is very fast here. This place is very authentic! I order a regular beef ball pho and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls were nice and fresh and the peanut sauce was very good. The regular pho was reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The broth was very good you can tell it's made by someone grandma. My entire family really liked it and I even had left overs. Definitely worth trying I'm definitely coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
One more (time - third time's the charm) This place does NOT miss. This is definitely a regular spot for my girlfriend and I now. Latest item to rave about is there coffee with condensed milk - iced or not (I got to try both as I prefer hot coffee and my girlfriend likes iced), it was perfection. Can not recommend this place enough. Do yourself a favor and go here!
google avatar

E L.

Yelp
Noodles are always on point here. My go to is satay ho fun. Family had the house Chiu Chow wide egg noddle with wonton, wonton was decent but I prefer the HK/Cantonese ones. Wife had the dry noodle, she said she liked it. The appetizer was fried fish cake which was really dried, other places does it better. The condiment jar peppers was crunchy, sweet and vinegary - very good. My favorite noodle place on Oakland, lost a star from the appetizer and the crooked metal table.

Yelp
Still the best, veggie pho I get now with chicken broth, always fresh and very nice service love them!!

Yelp
This place was a life saver. The GF was feeling a little under the weather and was in need of some comfort food. Their are a few vietnamese restaurants in the area, but she had remembered this spot being popular. Which it was. When we arrived it was reassuring to a pretty busy dining area. After doing some investigating for vegan options, the waiter was able to confirm that the veggie fried eggroll wrappers do not have egg in them, so we were able to get vegan fried rolls and the vegan chicken drumsticks. My GF enjoyed a Veggie Pho which was enough food for the night to enjoy leftovers the next day. I have a pho Number 9 and it definitely hit the spot. The Vietnamese coffee did the trick to keep me awake for the drive home.
google avatar

Talia B.

Yelp
Veggie Pho (C1) was sooooo good. Good veggie pho is hard to find because there is just something that feels missing sometimes. I really liked the broccoli and carrots, they were crunchy and soft and flavorrrfullll. Thai tea was sweet & really yummy as well. Service was quick and kind in a clean space.
google avatar

Binh T.

Yelp
I ordered a bunch of different varieties for my group. We all love our big portions and how tasty everything was. I order spicy beef noodle soup, and I'll definitely be coming back. They give big portions, very attentive and have their own parking lot.
google avatar

Tiffany M.

Yelp
Post election lunch. Me and my lunch date were mentally exhausted. Looking for a late lunch and just hopped over here for pho. I've only ever stopped here for a drink like if I just need to run in for a second I've never eaten this establishment and I will never eat there again because the tables are incredibly grimy it's just not my type of place. I'm sure they mean well and they have the heart in the food but I'm not a fan. I wish them well. I am sure they're a good neighbor.
google avatar

Billy L.

Yelp
My favorite Pho spot is in East Bay. I lived in San Jose and was spoiled with really good Pho. My favorites are Pho San Jose and Pho Dao. After moving to East Bay, it was difficult to find a decent place. At some places, the broth is good, but the meat quality isn't, or vice versa. After seeing many people recommending Pho Huong Que on Reddit, I decided to try it. Their broth is savory, and their meat quality is great. I always get Pho Chin Bo Vien (Pho with brisket and beef balls). I also tried their Nem Nuong Rolls, which was okay. It's missing the crispy eggroll inside, which I like in Nem Nuong. They mango salad is to die for. Very refreshing and has tons of flavor. The area is sketchy, but they have a small private parking lot, which is a plus.
google avatar

Verenice B.

Yelp
One of the best pho broths in the area, and I've been to A LOT. I Seldomly get other things, but when I want a good broth, this is the spot. There's some outdoor seating if you have a dog, and a good amount of indoor seating with their own parking garage, which is nice. You GOTTA eat there. They have good vinegar chili and other spicy sauces. And if you get it to go, you won't get any of that stuff. If you request it, it'll be the tiniest container possible, lol. I hate to say this out loud, but because they don't give me nearly enough sauces, I don't tip to-go orders anymore there. And, I just eat there for the most part and tip normal.
google avatar

Brett G.

Yelp
I love this place. Big bowl of pho with lots of meat in it for about $16 all-in. The broth is good but not the best I have had in the east bay - a little less rich and simpler than I've found elsewhere. The staff were great about filling my water, taking orders quickly, etc. and the space is a light airy dining area reminiscent of a lot of spots in Vietnam. Look forward to going back in the future!
google avatar

Veronica L.

Yelp
Really delicious pho tai that was fresh and made to order and came out quickly. The staff was friendly and it was not too busy. Tables were clean with one bathroom in the back. Good for families with kids. Can't wait to go back to try their other dishes like grilled pork, spring rolls, and smoothies.

Yelp
I found my new favorite pho spot. If you're looking for comfort viet food, this is the place to be. The restaurant has a homey, no frills feel. Prices are unbeatable at $11.45 for a bowl of pho ($3 to increase it to a large size). The pho broth is super savory and hits the spot on a chilly winter day. To top it all off, there's a private parking lot. What more can you ask for!
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
It was a hot weekend so I started my morning walk around the lake with an avocado smoothie. It was so yummy. Your classic Vietnamese avocado smoothie: smooth and creamy! Not to sweet. And by the time I was done walking the lake it was lunchtime so I returned to get a bowl of pho. I ordered the the Bun Bo Hue to go, which was delicious. Broth was flavorful yet light, exactly what I wanted! Craving fulfilled!

Yelp
My fave beef pho in Oaktown is here at Pho Huong Que! Came on a chill weekday night for some warm pho, as my friend and I were craving something brothy and healthy with the cooler weather. They have a tiny private lot to park, but we both had street parking since the lot was full. Streets can be shady after dark, if you have to walk from a few blocks away so plan accordingly. They offer takeout and dine-in, and there were a lot of us dining in, with a few table outside, but a majority of people were constantly walking in for their takeout orders! POPPIN. We started with their shrimp spring rolls and each had a different beef pho. My friend loved the thai tea. We were sad that the spring rolls were so skinny, haha. I would say that their pho is def the name of the game here, but I would skip the spring rolls, nothing amazing. The fixin's for pho are plentiful, they use lemon vs lime and cilantro vs mint. The large size pho is the way to go. Rice pho noodles were SO QQ and perfectly al dente. Their beef TENDON is perfection, SO soft and a bit of chew. Their pho soup is on the sweeter side which is not my preference, but still so hearty and tasty. Pho comes out within 10 mins, and it's piping hot. Service is efficient and family-run, LOVE that. You get a 5% discount if you pay with cash, but they also take credit. Will def be back for my pho cravings, thank you Pho Huong Que.
google avatar

Yelp
Pho Huong is a pretty good spot. Flavorful broth, good portion size, fast service. Definitely will fufill any pho craving you might have.

Ivana Y.

Yelp
Haven't been here since it use to be Ao Sen years ago. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine with lots of options on the menu. Ordered the pho dac biet so I could try all the meats. Broth came out piping hot, full of flavor and spices. Meat was tender and higher quality compared to other pho restaurants in the area. There's a small parking lot and outdoor seating available. They're on DoorDash as well, and I appreciate being able to order delivery when I'm too busy to dine in.
google avatar

Yelp
Was working in the area and kept getting emergency calls non stop so I was that kinda jerk that showed up 5 min before closing and they graciously sat me down, I ordered the Grilled Pork rice plate and it did not disappoint! I scarfed it down along with the fish sauce! One of the better rice plates I've had. Place was clean too. Only Con is they charge 4% for using a card. I didn't have cash on me.

Yelp
A small little restaurant with a busy vibe. Most tables were occupied & patrons kept coming in & out, so that is always reassuring since it was out 1st time at Pho Huong Que. Tables had chopsticks, spoons, sauces & even pickled vegetables but no napkins. Orders: A1 Goi Cuon $7.25 Shrimp Rice Paper Appetizer Fresh ingredients & shrimp was of substantial size. The peanut sauce seemed house made so it was good. Always an item to order when I want something not fried & pretty light. #15 Pho Tai Chin $11.45 consists of Rare steak, BRISKET not bisket(a misprint),Flank & Tendon Excellent brothy bowl of noodles with just enough brisket, flank steak & tendon to satisfy. #42 Com Suom $11.45 grilled pork chop w.rice was marinated well & kudos to the grill master who charred the pork enough to get that BBQ flavor to entice your palate to ask for more. As impressed as I was with the food, the bathroom also impressed me as well. I really feel a sense of comfort knowing they value the state of this establishment. Another aspect I look for in a restaurant is the Passing green sign posted from the Alameda County Environmental Health Dept. Thank you for a wonderful meal & peace of mind knowing Pho Huong Que cares about the cleanliness of it's customers.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday with my wife, we saw a lot of reviews that have pushed this corner restaurant in Little Saigon to #1 for Pho. I must admit, the reviews are justified. It also passes the eye test when you see it's clearly family owned and the conversations filling the ambiance are anything but English. Grandma is definitely cooking in the back so you're in for a treat. She ordered the #1 (Pho Special) that was loaded with all the available protein options and I got the #13 (Flank, Brisket, and Rare beef). As an appetizer we tried the Marinated chicken wings (A10) Both Pho options we ordered in regular size which is plenty of food for one sitting, even after a workout. The broth especially stood out, honestly comes out with excellent flavor and color straight from the kitchen. You only need to add spice to your taste preference if you so desire. There were multiple pieces of protein to fill your needs there. The marinated wings had great flavor as well, a little on the skinnier side and the meat was not as tender but let's be honest, you're coming here for the Pho. They did more than a decent job on these. The service was good. We were greeted as soon as we entered the door. There may be a little bit of a language barrier with the staff but if you're not new to Vietnamese cuisine this shouldn't deter you from navigating the menu and enjoying great food. The food came out very quickly and we were satiated with the portion sizes. This place won't hurt your pockets either. Consider it saved in my personal Oakland collection for Pho spots. I think you will do the same.

Yelp
One of the best Vietnamese place I've been to in terms of the Pho. We got the #6 for the Pho, which came with brisket and steak, and rice noodles. The flavor of the broth is amazing and the portion size is very large. We also got their pork vermicelli, which was excellent as well. Their cold shrimp rolls were very good with the peanut sauce. You don't come here for the ambiance or the service, although the ambiance was fine and the service was friendly and efficient. A must return visit!

Yelp
For a while I didn't know the difference between Pho and Ramen. I've had both, but now I know Pho is Vietnamese and Ramen is Japanese. I didn't know which dish I preferred until now. Pho is the ONE, not the two. I just wanna start this off with saying it's been hard for me to find somewhere that I really like for pho and/or ramen. I mean "repeat customer" kind of like. After passing this place several times over the course of several years, I finally gave it a go. Perk - there is a parking lot. Price - amazing. A small order of pho is $11. "Small" is more like a medium serving. Service - quick and friendly Ambiance - busy. There were some empty places, but I've never seen this place just empty. There is also one table right outside of the restaurant for dining. As someone stated in a previous review, a lot of the menu is written in Vietnamese. I think the dishes that are most popular are actually on the menu and in print on a small page included in the menu. Per usual I ordered shrimp pho. It came pretty quickly and I added all the fixings - sprouts, jalapeños, and basil. For spice, I asked for a side of chili sauce - that is what took this already good pho up a notch. I couldn't finish the small order of pho and ended up needing a to-go box. I did have an appetizer, but I've learned my lesson. When going for pho, just skip the appetizer. Appetizers and pho leave me feeling like I need to walk it off, which I should do anyway but hey, the point of this is to say the prices are great when it comes to getting your money's worth. I'd say we go our money's worth and then some it was so good.

Yelp
I love pho so much so I came here with high expectations and it did not disappoint. It's a very simple homey restaurant: no real frills around - simple tables and seats around. It's exactly what you would expect from an excellent pho place: if your food is excellent, you don't need the additional distractions. The staff were busy but took my order and brought out the food fairly quickly. The quantity was great: I ordered the #28, which I believe is the same size as the large pho bowl. For the price (~$15), you really can't beat it. The pho was also incredible. The broth is incredibly well seasoned without relying too much on salt or having one flavor overpower the others: it was perfectly savory and just what you would want on a chilly day. I went half egg and rice noodles and both noodles were cooked to perfection. The shrimp, quails, pork intestine & liver were all very tasty and tasted incredible in the broth. This is really excellent pho for an amazing price so I would recommend this to everyone!

Yelp
Loved this neighborhood gem in little Saigon in Oakland. Very simple no fuss vibes. Family run business and kept nice and clean. I was feeling little sick so I always turn to Pho in such cases and so happy to have come here. I had pho Tai nr 3 the simply beef pho and loved it. It made me feel much better as soon as I had that magical broth. I will be back for more pho Magic :)

Yelp
In town for work and ordered this to go - IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! I've been burned in the past by food in Oakland so I was a little afraid of the high reviews. This place is legit. My order arrived in a reasonable amount of time and was still pretty fresh. I ordered to go so no idea about the ambiance here. But here's what I can say....The spring rolls were top notch. The grilled pork, vermicelli and rolls were *chefs kiss* amazing. Honestly, this place may change the way i feel about food in Oakland!

Yelp
Lake Merritt Old school staple! Food is authentic and flavorful with very fresh ingredients. The staff is always very friendly and helpful when I questions about menu items. I love the menu with photos of the dishes. Handicapped accessible with indoor and outdoor dining areas.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Favorite for hot noodle soup! Authentic and family-owned spot that has nursed me back to health when I was recovering from the flu or a night out. Love their Bun Bo Hue Chay and veggie spring rolls. I've also tried their veggie pho which I wouldn't recommend, but the seafood pho was good! Service is quick and straightforward, and has been rude here and there, but the food is too good for me to honestly care! I'll always put people on to it.

Yelp
Great service and comfortable place! I got their grilled pork vermicelli with egg rolls! The egg rolls were good -- solid with fish sauce. Meat and pickled veggies were excellent. Overall, good and satisfactory. The noodles were a little not to my liking. Not sure if they were a little undercooked, but stuck together and slightly powdery. But mixing in veggies and meat made it fine. My friend also got vermicelli and really enjoyed hers so it could have been just my bowl type of thing. Very gracious with their amount of noodles!!
