"This cozy Hilltop dive caters to college students and locals alike, and the evenings hours are bright and bustling. Beef, chicken, and vegetable broth are available. Pho dac biet comes with big, frilly ribbons of tripe and sizable hunks of collagen-rich tendon." - Charlotte Muzzi

Google
Incredible quality broth and good ingredients. Good atmosphere; it's exactly what you expect from a little pho place that you know is gonna be amazing. My wife and I are quite critical of the quality of the base and we were very happy with this place.

Google
A quiet environment with amazing food. The egg rolls were cooked amazingly and tasted perfect. They may quite possibly be the best I've ever had for the type of egg roll. The Vietnamese Bahn Mi was delicious. It had been stuffed full of all the veggies and meat with a yummy sauce. The pho itself has a delicious broth and the small was a very filling bowl. The food was quick and prompt and the service was excellent. Came to fill our drinks and took out order in a prompt fashion. I'd come back!

Google
Delicious pho and speedy service! :) Can’t go wrong with the #7 and some thai iced tea!

Google
WOW just WOW! Talk about flavor! This place was amazing. The location was clean and well decorated. The staff was quick and friendly. The food was just out of this world. The price was very reasonable. I ordered the Vietnamese sandwich with grilled chicken and the flank and roundeye pho(reg) with tip it was under $25. Amazing experience all around.

Google
I ordered the Pho King special pho. I always do an "add nothing test" to the broth upon drop off. Flavor was just not there and broth little oily. Think low sodium potatoe chips or diet coke vs coke. The good part is they provide 2 different Sriacha sauces, typical veggie condiments for pho, fish sauce and soy sauce. After a few shakes of soy sauce and fish sauce, the flavor was acceptable. Compared to some of the best pho in Los Angeles CA, San Jose CA, St. Paul MN, where Id give 10/10, this pho is probably at a 6. Keep in mind, my own mother's pho which she rarely made would be a 4- as in "mom...pho? Oh boy.." other dishes like spring rolls (house sauce too watered down) had hoison sauce avail for u to make yiur own sauce (i recc 90% hoison plus 10% sriacha-swirl together). Spring rolls rock and so do the boba teas. If the chef can conjure up a more flavorful and less oily broth, Id revisit. Otherwise, many other places to try upon my return to this area.

Google
Clean, great service, good food Tried Phnom Penh soup and Special Pho, and they are both good. Soup broth is cooked with genuine bone broth. Fish ball and quail egg in Phnom Penh soup is superb. Pho was served quickly in big bowl. Vietnamese coffee was well made with perfect ratio between condensed milk and coffee. Only downside is that you have to park on the street, which is small and busy all the time.

Google
I dined in here over a year ago and liked the pho (that's all I ordered that time). Went back with my partner this time and every single thing we ordered was super good! I definitely recommend the pork egg rolls, Thai iced tea, and beef pho (especially with tendon!). I'll be excited to go back!

Google
My sister and I went in for lunch today and as usual, Pho King didn't disappoint. I had the bo kho with bread and my sister had the grilled pork banh mi. Both were absolutely delicious. The sandwich was perfection.

Keiko K.

Yelp
I order the grill pork banh mi at least 2 - 3 times every week! The bread is crunchy, the pork is well marinated. The sandwiches taste fresh. I ordered 5 sandwiches on Saturday & everyone was happy & couldn't stop raving about their sandwich!! The pho is excellent & so is their fresh shrimp rolls. But my favorite at this restaurant is the banh mi.

Mattea D.

Yelp
Searched for the best Vietnamese and decided on the classic menu item Pho! Pho King is located on MLK jr way in Hilltop. Parking is pretty easy to find on the street, and for lunch on Friday there was no wait (decent amount of seating). Service is fast - got the egg rolls (2 per order) and pho tai, which it seems like they're known for. The egg rolls were really good and the pho tai was great. Basically, with pho you need a good broth and this one has it. I had read reviews that said to get the classic pho tai and no one let me astray. I will definitely be back! It's so nice to find really good Vietnamese - I feel like it's been "ok" in my neighborhood. Can't wait to try more!

Yow-Hann L.

Yelp
Very fast service, pho broth was good (not oily and just the right classic pho taste).

Ed H.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick lunch. It was a little blustery outside and I had a hankering for soup. Phô King did not disappoint--the service was quick and the phô was tasty! We started with the fresh spring rolls. Lu had her phô with shrimp, mine was eye round and flank. Lu put the chili crisp condiment whereas I grabbed the jalapeños. Ooo-wee!! the first jalapeño piece was spicy --so much so that I took the rest out of my soup. Nonetheless the soup warmed us both up and hit the spot!

Yelp
Weekday dinner Been awhile since my last visit and while the decor has changed the food and service remain the same- the best. Pho here just tastes better as do the tofu and spring rolls. While there are other pho places- this place is the King!!!!

Yoko N.

Yelp
Ordered to-go. Food is great. But the cashier was not friendly at all. I just asked one question and he was very rude. I will go back for food but they need better service.

Eddie J.

Yelp
If you're looking for great pho in Tacoma, then head up to Pho King on MLK Way in Hilltop. You might have to be patient looking for street parking due to all the new construction in the area, but the pho is totally worth it. We ordered the brisket pho and the broth was so good. Definitely recommend Pho King for your pho fix!

Nathan E.

Yelp
I've been to plenty of pho places in my day and I can easily say this place HAS THE MEATS (as Arby's would say). There was more protein in my bowl than would be in two bowls at most other places. In my eyes, this is a huge plus at a very fair price point. Good work!

Lesa B.

Yelp
Exceptionally delicious. Parking is a pain, but manageable The Bahn mi and Bun are excellent

Project Pat H.

Yelp
Ya'll ready know. Project Pat in the house searching for the best Bahn Mi in Tacoma. Check my bookmarks if ya'll don't believe me! Let's start with a few simple things: This is the #2 Bahn Mi establishment in Tacoma. Allow me to explain. Bread: great but not the best in Town. Good texture. Meat: not juicy, was a little dry Fixings: Mayo, FRESH (not pickled) peppers, cilantro, and carrots. Good work ya'll. OTHER: spring rolls POP OFF! Thai iced tea was on the sugary side. I'd keep it trill here anytime of the week and I gotta say the service was poppin too. Food came out QUICK YALL and price was decent. Stay trill Pho King I'll be back, don't let me catch you lackin!! 5 stars.

Roberto S.

Yelp
It's been a long while since I've been here. The last time it was in a run down location. Now it's nice and the furniture matches! The food is the same as before. It's good, not my fave, but it's good. I think most of you will be pleased by the food. The service is ok. It wasn't bad but I didn't find it exceptional. Ok sometimes is ok. You won't be disappointed, but 5 minutes after you leave you'll forget you were there. Regardless of my thoughts, I think everyone should try it once. You might just make this your favorite place.

Victoria V.

Yelp
Taste is satisfactory but not memorable. Was hot and humid inside with no fan or ac for customers. We could have chosen somewhere else to go but on a time crunch we decided to just eat here especially with young kids it's difficult to strap the kids in and out of car. For some reason, the vermicelli dish that I had was just not as good as other places. Although I can't say for certain why it wasn't as good. The large pho was not very large according to my partner.

Ricky R.

Yelp
Solid experience. Would recommend, but not quite as good as our home base of Pho. I have wanted to try them for a while, but we found our spot and its tough to pick outside of your go to. It was a monday and our spot was closed and I was under the weather. My wife grabbed this to go and its not bad by any means. Definitely worth a visit and a great price. We ordered to go as my wife was getting her nails done and I was under the weather seeking out the healing power of Pho. I think the travel was not great for the sides. We had pot stickers and egg rolls. Both were good, but they were soggy. I do blame that on travel. I would love to try them fresh. The pho was decent size, great broth. Ok portions for everything. I felt like everything could have been a little bit more including the sprouts, and the various meats. Everything was really tasty though, and for the price its hard to really complain. I want to check out their bahn mi. The price is amazing and closer to what I remember getting bahn mi for in the past. This place will struggle to be my Pho place as the other spot is literally down the road and they have killer Pho, Bahn Mi, and chicken wings. I will continue to try this spot for sure and maybe in person next time. Still highly recommend.

Yelp
Delicious pho in Tacoma. First visit to this restaurant. Freezing day so pho sounded great. Found the restaurant in Google maps. Very close to our location in an older part of town called Hilltop. The restaurant is on a quiet street by the railroad. Quiet stores everywhere. Store was quiet. Only one other table occupied when we entered. We were greeted by a friendly server and seated in a booth. Water was served as we were seated. Out order was taken and served within 10 minutes. We ordered the pho special which included sirloin, brisket, tendon and meatballs and I had brisket pho. The meat was tender and flavorful. The Beef broth was rich and flavorful...delicious. perfect on this cold day. Lots of herbs and toppings. Definitely on our list to return. My regular bowl was $12 and the large $13.50.

Ceivy M.

Yelp
Great place for lunch! Service is quick and the food is delicious. It never disappoints.

Yelp
I had the Pho King at Pho King and it was so Pho King good. I always try out any pho spot that names itself Pho King, and I wonder, do they get their own joke, because it's a Pho King good one. Broth was good, could be more tasteful, but overall it was a good bowl of soup.

Sandra Givin ..

Yelp
Service was good, food came out fast. We got egg rolls, Vietnamese crepe, and the special pho. Overall the egg rolls and pho tasted good. Broth had good flavor and was clean. But they give very small portions of meat. We got the large size and there were maybe 5 pieces of meat. The Vietnamese crepe was bland, oily, and mostly batter. I counted 4 tiny shrimp and 3 pieces of chicken. Never mind I asked for no bean sprouts and the entire thing was stuffed with them when it came out. Unfortunately we won't be back.

Reena E.

Yelp
First time visiting this place and it's definitely on my list to return to for pho. The pho hit the spot though, so I am definitely returning to try the other dishes on their menu. Signage outside made this place not easy to find, but once you are there, the customer service and food are wonderful. The restaurant was also cozy even if it was so busy!

Bill F.

Yelp
DISGUSTING! I'd give it a zero stars if I could. I came in and ordered pho takeout after I got home I took a look at the bottom of the pho container to look at the seasonings and seen a small curly hair THANK GOD I checked because after pouring the broth out to further investigate it indeed was a curly hair that looked like a pubic hair I'm absolutely disgusted and do not recommend eating here I'll also be reporting this restaurant to the health department it needs to be shut down IMMEDIATELY extremely unhealthy and dangerous I'm mad I waisted money or even stepped foot in the place

Mary O.

Yelp
Ordered to go. The food was packed really nicely and was super delicious! It's only my second time trying pho and I'll definitely be back!

Major B.

Yelp
The best fancy food ever best price and only takes four minutes to make or maybe less has the best bubble tea and soda ever

Tamar S.

Yelp
2 years in and still here. I have yet to find another spot that compares. The pho is great. They really take care of you. Headed there again today!

Justin D.

Yelp
The name is fire I got to turn a big orange chicken into French fries and they let me bring my pet anaconda in it was so fun even the police took me to pretty cool cell thing 10/10

Johnny L.

Yelp
Yelp Live Review.. lucky you! I'm here live.. finally and thanks to the local Pho Bac not being opened.. so finally got a chance to try this place.. so story goes Like 5 years ago picture 5 or so years ago on a Sunday.. we wanted to try this place out but unfortunately, this place wasn't opened during Sundays.. so, disappointment as you figured Now, I am here.. I just had their Spring Rolls and they were okay.. needed some mint, basil to bring it up to being good.. peanut sauce tasted ok, can be a little more savory and sweet Pho broth as I am multi-tasking now with one hand on the phone instead of using that same hand to drink the broth with a spoon.. well let's use the right hand.. broth is a bit rich and beefy.. meat is decent where brisket has some tender fat, good steak but should've ordered as rare on the side, meatballs good and sliced up Good place Excellent service provided by the young man here Pho King.. more like Pho Prince 4 stars.. a good one When it get to 5 stars, it can be King

DeAnna M.

Yelp
So delicious and a great find! The food came out hot. Flavor is fantastic and very reasonable prices.

Morgan C.

Yelp
The Restaurant is in the Ghetto and the parking was sketchy. The food was ok. I'm not sure what the Hype surrounding this place is all about.

Prana B.

Yelp
Some of my favorite pho and vermicelli noodles. The staff is always kind and attentive.

Cameron G.

Yelp
Best Boba in Tacoma for a great price, and amazing pho! I've only ever taken my food to-go but the restaurant is really pretty with nice staff!

Aisha H.

Yelp
If you're into good pho then I'm sure you've visited this Tacoma staple. Pho here is out of this world and it tells you something if you're trying to come here during lunch because this place is always packed. They also specialize in other Vietnamese staples from the banh mi sandwiches to other noodle specialities though the real stars here are the pho and banh mi sandwiches. Though the lines are always super long during lunch time they're fast and efficient here and the wait is never too long. In a city that has many pho options Pho King is one of the best.

Tawnya L.

Yelp
Back again and equally impressed, this time the brisket and meatball pho! So delicious and perfect for the price. We ordered to go on their webpage and it was the perfect experience

Erin H.

Yelp
Best pho I've ever had. Large portions for a very reasonable price. The spring rolls were also delicious! And they have T-shirt's!!

Quiana J.

Yelp
The best veggie pho around! Their veggie broth has lots of FLAVOR unlike other places where veggie broth is watered down theirs is amazing. I also love that the vegetarian pho has tofu strips and not huge chunks. Always has fresh veggies too and bomb bubble tea their tapioca isn't hard at all 10/10!!!!!!!

Samantha M.

Yelp
If you've read the reviews, you know what to expect. Pho King was a staple local pho restaurant with quick service and convenience on a dreary day! When the Tacoma rain's coming through, a hot soup is the best call. Pho King has good hours and best for carry out. I recommend calling in the order & paying at pickup. It's far easier than using their website. OVERALL: 3/5 Food: 3.5/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 2/5 My order: The #10 - Pho Soup with eye round steak, flank, and tendon

Melissa R.

Yelp
Food is mid. The food isn't terrible but they're are "pho king" stingy. Not enough chicken in the chicken pho and the broth is cold by the time you prepare it. Also, they skimp on the limes and noodles.

Sarah Q.

Yelp
This place is the best. At lunch during the week it is always packed. I have ordered different plates from their menu and not been disappointed once. The remodel of the restaurant looks great!

Daniels V.

Yelp
Gluten Free friendly!!! Amazing place, great service, delicious food. Their special beef stew pho #39 is out of this world. We also got combo pho #11, and it burst with lots of flavor. If you are looking for Gluten Free options, then all pho soups are gluten free, just make sure you don't use any sauces provided. Summer rolls are also gluten free, however, the peanut dip does contain Hoisin sauce, which is known to have wheat in it.

Rebecca B.

Yelp
Haven't been back in six years and oh sweet jeezus it really is the best phö I've ever had still. Bad day? Phö. Heartbreak? Phö. Head cold? Spicy phö. Celebration? Phö and sides. Self care? Large phö. Reasonably priced lunch date? Look good and let them pick anything on the menu and enjoy your phö. The portions are perfect, the prices are great, the food is all delicious, the service is fast, the restaurant is clean, and I hope this place never goes away so I can get back up from Oregon again and enjoy it.

Talitha M.

Yelp
Tasted great, loved the spring rolls! The broth was a little sweet but I liked it, a more complex flavor to it. Only complaint is that the beef is cooked already instead of the broth cooking it but it's no problem I enjoyed it

Tanya H.

Yelp
We stopped here after a long day looking for a home cooked meal. My son was buying, so yay! We ordered a large mixed pho, tofu bahn mi, and summer rolls. The pho was 4/5. The meat was a bit sparse and the mix not as varied as other places. The broth was quite tasty, portion enormous, and noodles interesting as they were thin, the last a nice textural difference. The bahn mi was amazing. I ordered it without pate. They removed some of the inner bread which made it more crisp and fulfilling as the focus was on the contents. The tofu serving was generous. One negative aspect was that they added hoisin sauce, which I would have preferred omitted (too sweet). Would have been 5/5 had it not been for the hoisin. The summer rolls were adequate. 3-4/5. The prices were good. With no drinks, it came to $25ish including tax. Not bad. My teenager ate every bite. Parking is on the street and can be a challenge, especially since there are several bars around the area.

Sharon C.

Yelp
Love the prices here!!!! Pho for under $10! Came here on a Saturday around noon, and there was only one other person there eating. The service was not very good in that the workers weren't very friendly which was disappointing. But the prices here are so good! $7.95 for a large pho which is pretty cheap compared to other pho places. Street parking was easy to find around this time. Bathroom is clean which is nice considering the area. My mom is super picky, and this is her favorite pho place. I got the rare steak/beef pho, and it was pretty good!! 4.5/5. I liked the broth, and the size portion is good too. My mom got the seafood pho which had so much seafood in it. We also got an order of spring rolls which comes with two spring rolls. The spring rolls are definitely much smaller than the spring rolls I'm used to getting at other places. But they're filled with a good mix of vegetables and meat, so they were tasty. Looking forward to trying their other dishes!

Marge L.

Yelp
Came here to revive me after a night of drinking. Me and my friend got large bowls of pho. I got the house special pho and it did the job. After we killed the broth I was brought back to life. The prices are good too. Inside is nice and clean.

Michael D.

Yelp
Great food I love the lemongrass chicken n the rice noodle bowls. Location isn't my favorite but prices n service are also great along w food

Kelly R.

Yelp
Food is always delicious! I almost always order to-go and get extra bean sprouts for my phò. The Banh mi is another go-to. So yum!

Katie B.

Yelp
Food is always quick and delicious. My favorite is the brisket pho and pot stickers. I love that my whole family can enjoy it together.

Betsy L.

Yelp
The most delicious Pho I've had in a long time. Service was speedy & everyone was very nice! Will definitely be coming back. :)

Lily I.

Yelp
Is there anything better than a hot bowl of pho after a rainy evening at Zoolights? The broth is top notch!! They even have a kids bowl. Staff is friendly and efficient and consistent with masking. High ceilings and well-spaced tables make you feel pretty good about things. Or maybe it's the food making you feel good. This place is definitely worth a visit!! Even has gender neutral bathrooms.

Devan G.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese food, highly recommend. This place ain't just good... it's so Pho King good!

Melissa P.

Yelp
Got the brisket pho for takeout. The meat was really chewy I didn't want to swallow it once chewed into a ball of tough meat. Noodles a stale texture. This may be because I got it to-go and maybe just toughened up during ride home, but not the best. Thai tea is one of the sweetest I've ever had so if you don't like that, stay away-sugary. Still in search of pho spot in/near Tacoma.
