Boston’s 2024 Eater Award Winners | Eater Boston

"A family-run, casual Vietnamese noodle shop in Quincy that served as the original daytime identity of the space before its nighttime transformation; the owner sought a new chef partner to give the restaurant a more modern edge, allowing the location to host a separate, more experimental Vietnamese concept after dark." - Erika Adams

Lê Madeline Opens Inside Vietnamese Noodle Shop Pho Linh in Quincy | Eater Boston

"A decade-old, beloved Vietnamese noodle shop in North Quincy known for its staple noodle soups served at lunch, operating out of the same 409 Hancock Street space that flips to a dinner concept later in the day. Owned by Tam Le and rooted in a family restaurant legacy that began with his father’s eateries in Boston, the spot remains community-oriented and intentionally accessible. The restaurant underwent cosmetic refreshes starting in mid-2022 (new flooring and walls) and continues to prioritize its traditional daytime offerings while sharing the venue with a new evening program." - Erika Adams

Our server, Andy was top notch. Excellent filet mignon Pho - upper echelon broth. Perfect eggrolls, solid sauces - Weak cocktails.

This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the town. I enjoy the comfortable, and relaxing vibe of the bar and the decor. I got the large Pho Dac Biet and it was an absolutely huge portion. I was surprised at how big it was. The staff was super nice and friendly. They are always attentive and professional. I highly suggest this wonderful restaurant to anyone in the area

Google
The new Vietnamese gastro pub style Le Madeleine is great! They got a liquor license and are slowly expanding the offerings. The Lycho Martini is not too be missed! Not too sweet, and a really nice taste. Went for the 5 course Valentine's Day offering and it gave a taste of what they're doing for new dishes. Everything was very good, with a few things we'd never had before. The paired wine and cocktails from their drinks menu were also great. This new concept could be shaping up to be the best new restaurant in Quincy. I would definitely give it a go if you're at all enticed by the menu! Pho Linh - Great place, not just for pho, but for their rice plates and other dishes too! Wish they had beer or BYOB

Google
Google reviewers must have not had great pho because this is decent. Maybe they didn’t have the broth completely ready since we came in during lunch time, but the broth is what makes pho and it wasn’t very rich or flavorful as other pho places I have been to. Portions are good. Pho So 1 in Randolph is a bit better imo. The pork spring rolls were well done. The pho tai has red onions rather than white. The bean sprouts and thai basil were fresh enough. The tables did not have chili oil, salt, pepper. Peanut sauce for the spring rolls were good.

I've been coming here for a long time, probably 8 years or more. I recently introduced my wife who can't get enough. (She's pescatarian and hard to find a good non-meat broth pho) In a nutshell we love Pho Linh. The food has always been on point - fresh, authentic, and great portion/cost. With every visit the food and decor gets better and better like a fine wine. I went to college in the Boston area and now I make sure to go out of my way when I visit anywhere near the area to get my fix. I don't normally write reviews but I've been meaning to write one for Pho Linh for quite some time. The staff is polite, the food is consistently great, and I've even met the owner who is amazingly kind. These pictures are from our last visit. Only thing we regret is not stocking up with food for our return trip home. But we were stuffed already. You can't go wrong with the Pho and the grilled pork chop. I can't wait to go back and officially try  Lê Madeline, an experiment inside Pho Linh self described as "a fun modern Vietnamese dining experience featuring an imaginative menu by Chef Peter Nguyen." On our last visit we were lucky enough to sample one of Chef Peter's creations as he happened to be on site secretly testing menu options. Wow, talk about delicious!

Pho Linh is my favorite to visit whenever I'm craving for Vietnamese food. Their food is pretty authentic and tasty. All of their dishes are good. I like their bun bo Hue a lot. Bun thit nuong is great as well. They also offer banh cuon (Vietnamese steamed rice cake) on the weekends.

Google
This is definitely one of the best authentic Vietnamese restaurant in Quincy. The food was great along with very attentive services. Good size dining area located in the heart of high Asian populated area. You are getting the real deal and not the water down version.

Nice, clean, big restaurant. Cute decor. The Pho was really really good and flavorful. They also have interesting drinks like Vietnamese iced coffee and homemade limeade.

Yelp
It's nice having something more upscale in the South Shore. The inside is small but nice. I got to try a lot of the lunch and dinner dishes. Service was friendly and accommodating. Food took a while, but we ordered a lot, so it was understandable. Overall, there were some interesting twists on Vietnamese classics (some successful, some not), but the traditional flavors definitely shone through. - Hàu Nướng Mỡ Hành: The oysters were small, but I love oysters, so nothing to complain about here. - Gỏi Vịt: The duck was very fatty and soft. I love gỏi but have only ever had it with chicken, so this was different. - Bánh Khọt: I liked the crispiness of the bottom, but the coconut flavor was a bit too strong and sweet imo. - Chả Giò: Skinnier than the egg rolls I'm used to, but they tasted average. Crispy. - Chem Chép Xào Dừa: Like the oysters, the mussels were small, but I liked the flavor of the coconut broth. I do wish the basil taste/smell were stronger, though. - Cánh Gà Chiên Nước Mắm: Haven't had this dish in so long. These did not disappoint. The outside was crispy, the inside was moist, and the sauce was very flavorful throughout. - Bánh Mì Flatbread: Did not like this. It was way too cheesy, and the flatbread was so soggy. The BBQ pork was good, though, so it made me just want a traditional bánh mì. Some things are superior in their OG form. - Việt Cajun Crawfish Noodles: There was barely any crawfish. The pasta was cooked well, but the sauce was too sweet. I think there were also bits of lạp xưởng, but I don't think the flavor mixed well. - Bò Lúc Lắc: The filet mignon was very tender and flavorful. - Tôm Hùm Rang Me: The lobster was overcooked and also unnecessarily sweet, which seems to be a theme with the dishes. - Cà Phê Sữa Đá Crème Brûlée: The hardened layer of caramelized sugar was good. The coffee flavor was also pretty good. This dessert grew on me the more bites I took. - Red Bean Cheesecake: This was okay. Not too sweet, which is good, but it was missing more texture variety (I know cheesecake traditionally does not have a crust, but I felt like that's what it was missing).

Yelp
I went to Le Madeline last night for dinner for the first time. It was sooo good! There were four of us and we shared a bunch of dishes. We had the sea bass crudo, the tajin watermelon, shrimp and corn fritters, mussels, salt and pepper shrimp , chicken wings and the coconut turmeric cakes. For drinks we had Lychee martinis and spicy margarita. Everything was really good. The salt and pepper shrimp was standout for all of us. It comes with delicious buttered popcorn. Everyone who worked there was so nice and helpful and the ambiance. Is very cool. What a great addition to the Quincy food scene. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
What can I say about Le Madeline that hasn't been said by other reviewers? I went here for a birthday dinner - and decided to go Al out with the caviar service and sharing a bunch of dishes. Everything was absolutely stunning, with incredible depth of flavor, texture, color and attention to detail. It's really a happy marriage of French and Vietnamese cooking technique - and this easily ranks as one of the top restaurants in Greater Boston. Service was warm, friendly, and inviting. The space actually feels like you're somewhere abroad - without feeling pretentious. I can't wait to come back.

Yelp
The food was delicious! My favorites were the marinated filet mignon and crawfish noodles. For two people, four dishes was plenty of food. The drinks were tasty too. It is a bit dark in the restaurant and gets a bit loud after 7pm. Overall, it was a good experience.

Yelp
Le Madeline, formally known as Pho Linh is now serving up Vietnamese food with a modern twist during dinner time. I loved this place when it was Pho Linh so it was nice to see their lunch menu still offered oldie but goodie dishes such as the house rice plate and the house special vermicelli bowl, which are all my favorite go-to's. Let's jump into it, I came here for dinner and the reason I knew La Madeline still offered my favorite dishes during lunch was because the host who escorted us to our table gave us the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu. Point deducted there, so I ended up asking another staff for the dinner menu. After a few minutes of browsing the menu, we ordered the Nuoc Mam wings, shaking beef aka Bo Luc Lac, and the Cajun Crawfish Noodles. Every dish was mouth-watering delicious, and loaded with flavor and came out steaming hot. The wings came out piping hot and fried to a golden crisp. For this app, you get drumettes and the flats with their tips. The chicken was scrumptious, plump, and juicy. The beef was tender and juicy wrapped in oyster sauce and tasted salty and sweet. I will mention, that a bowl of rice is a must with this dish because eating this dish on its own is too salty, and having the white rice you can spoon the sauce on it and it's extremely comforting and helps balance the salt. Then there's the oodles of garlic noodles topped with basil-buttered crawfish and salmon roe, which is rich and lush. I could only take a few bites of this because I felt it was that rich for my taste. This dish was just like the shaking beef packed with flavor. My main grumble of all these dishes is the dishes that had watercress as a bed, it was all yellow and turned bad. It was not fresh at all and I find that unacceptable to be served. All things considered, the food is delightful, besides the greens they gave me weren't fresh. The dishes here are on the pricier side and the portions are smaller. Before tip, my tab racked up to $77 for three dishes. That's expensive and if you or people in your group have a big appetite you'll be ordering more.

Yelp
Great food from beginning to end. We ordered a bunch of items from the menu and shared as a group. Great place if you like unusual (not in a bad way) food. The only downside we discussed afterwards is that the menu is rather small and doesn't leave a lot to try for next time. I would change either the menu or add rotating specials to encourage guests to come back sooner.

Yelp
IG made me want to try this place. Everything looked delicious on IG so I was looking forward to it when I visited Boston. Sadly, it was a huge disappointment. The bone marrow was not cooked thoroughly and it was just eating solid fat and the pate was very vinegary. I ordered banh khot and it was not consistently good. The first was ok and the rest was not good. It seemed like the batter was not mixed properly. It was so bad that I had to go eat boba just to wash the nasty taste out of my mouth.

Yelp
I stopped in for the first time after Pho Linh transformed into Lê Madeline. The interior has been updated to have a more upscale feel. I was excited to see that they had kept the classic noodle soups on the menu in addition to their newer fusion items. Since it was my first time here, I decided to try out their new menu items. The staff was very attentive and had us seated immediately. My party decided to share the roasted bone marrow (Bánh Mì Tủy Xương) which was absolutely delicious and I would definitely order again. I decided to go for the Viet Cajun Crawfish Noodles which were pretty good, but I would be open to trying something else on the menu next time. Overall, I'll be back next time I'm in the area to try out more at Lê Madeline!

Yelp
Lê Madeline in Quincy is a Vietnamese restaurant that deserves 5 stars, offering a dining experience that went above and beyond our expectations. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed into the beautifully decorated restaurant, where every detail exuded Vietnamese charm. With its small size, reservations are encouraged, but even sitting at the bar was fun! Our bartender and server, Kimmy, was an absolute delight. Her sweet demeanor and genuine hospitality made our dining experience truly memorable. She engaged us in good conversation, sharing insights into the various dishes and history of the restaurant. Kimmy's cocktails were amazing. The Second Wind, with its Vietnamese Espresso Martini twist and hint of banana flavor, was delicious. The Spicy Margarita and The Bonfire were equally good and flavorful. We also indulged in a durian smoothie, made with REAL durian and surpassed any powdered version. For starters, the fried chicken wings were full of flavor and crispy. Our entrees, the Pho Dac Biet and Bun Bo Hue, were generously portioned and packed with meat, so good! Our experience at Lê Madeline left us thoroughly impressed. With Kimmy's exceptional service and the restaurant's delicious offerings, we can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal. Five stars without a doubt, Lê Madeline!

Yelp
Well decorated & nice staff. After we had just sat, someone spilled water & we were moved to a different table. The food here that we tried were good overall. The duck salad & bo luc lac were my favorites of the night. The banh khot had a little bit too much coconut milk for my personal preference. I liked the chips that the lobster roll came with. The dressing and seasoning on the lobster roll was sweet & savory, very different from a typical Boston lobster roll. Overall, I'd come again to try their other dishes & recommend others give the duck salad & bo luc lac a try.

Yelp
Asian fusion can be hit-or-miss but Lê Madeline is a definite hit! The restaurant was already packed when we arrived for our 5:30 reservation on a Friday night, so be sure to make a reservation beforehand. We came with a group of 3 and shared 4 plates. Every dish was impressive, and each of us had a different favorite dish of the night. As someone who grew up eating Vietnamese food at home, I felt this place did justice to Vietnamese flavors while putting a nice modern spin on it. What we ordered: - Viet Cajun Crawfish Noodles - packed with flavor and the salmon roe added textural interest - Cá Nướng Branzino - succulent fish that reminded us of home - Súp Bí Đỏ Tôm Nướng (grilled shrimp) - the star of this dish was the kabocha squash puree that it came with. We could have licked this off the plate. - Bò Lúc Lắc - marinated filet mignon on top of rice. Super tender beef, just wish that it had a bit more char on it. - Pandan infused negroni - the pandan flavor was subtle (a bit overpowered by the rest of the drink) but it had a nice pandan aftertaste

Yelp
LONG: My friends and I came here to check out the "boujee" viet restaurant. We decided to order a bunch of items and share them in a weird family style. For apps, the Bo kho and goi vit was really good. Bo kho was delish *chef's kiss*. The duck was good but a tad too red for me so we threw it on the hot banh khot pan. Banh khot was good but nothing extraordinary. We also got the banh canh cua. It was not good. The soup was incredibly thick and even more thick from the noodles. It was off-putting. It was almost like eating vomit... The banh mi flatbread was good but a bit heavy. Wish it had more pate! It was unique though. For entrees, we got the pho dac biet, bun rieu cua and bun thit nuong. Honestly, all the entrees were just so so or "mid." The pho broth needed more pho flavor. The bun rieu was decent. Probably wouldn't come back. The apps that were good were kind of pricey and the entrees were nothing to look forward to. SHORT: - Apps good. - Entrees not so good. - For the price, I'd pass next time. - Service was fine. - The restaurant is nice inside.

Yelp
Formally known as Pho Linh, Le Madeline has a new, renovated menu and interior design that showcases authentic Vietnamese flavors in beautifully plated large and small plates My friend and I loved their unjque drinks and recommend sharing the small plates to get a wider taste of their menu We were OBSESSED with the coconut broth of the chem chép xào dừa and loved eating the bánh khọt with fresh veggies The bò lúc lắc was cooked perfectly and I couldn't stop eating the vietnamese coffee crème brûlée Definitely a restaurant to bring and impress your friends and their tastebuds!

Yelp
The duck breast salad and pho were both worth reordering! Good amount of meat. Casual atmosphere, pretty clean overall.

Yelp
Came here on Saturday afternoon and didn't have to wait for seating. The place looks very clean, and decoration is like a typical Vietnamese restaurant. I ordered the bon bo hue, and my friend ordered the vermicelli with pork. We shared the spring rolls, and the ingredients were really fresh, and it was packed. The peanut sauce was sweet and worked well with the refreshing spring roll. The bon bo hue was packed with meat and tendon and a large pigs knuckle. The soup was so flavorful, but the noodles were a bit overcooked. Overall, it was a great lunch meal.

Yelp
Came here with a big group of friends a few weekends ago after seeing this place all over TikTok and Instagram. It's very dark inside the restaurant and although it wasn't as "upscale" as it appeared online, it was still a nice ambiance. I know this place just opened, but service was extremely slow and it seemed like staff were a little lost (although friendly!). Appetizers/entrees/drinks came out at different times over the course of over an hour and a half, so everyone ended up eating and finishing at different times. The drinks were all delicious and strong--the Second Wind cocktail had hints of banana and the Lychee Martini had the perfect amount of sweetness. The stand out dishes were the bone marrow and the crawfish noodles, but we would pass on the oysters next time (we did not enjoy the peanut texture with the oysters). I loved their plating and the dishes were all definitely very photogenic. Overall, I think this place has a lot of potential if the speed of service improves, but dishes and drinks were pricey for what they were. The influencers influenced with this place lol

Yelp
We had a delightful meal at this creative restaurant last night. The menu is wonderfully inventive, and the dishes were executed flawlessly. We tried the lobster roll, coconut cakes, and crawfish noodles--all of which were fantastic. The service was excellent, and our food arrived promptly. I'm excited to return! The restaurant rivals those I've been to in NYC and SF, but lucky for us, it's close to home in Quincy.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! I came with a friend and we ordered the Mussels, Lobster Roll, Crawfish Noodle, and Chicken Wings. I also ordered an avocado smoothie. Everything was great here (unique flavors, textures, and tender). Restaurant was nicely decorated. I would come back to try other items!

Yelp
Used to come here when its used to be Pho Linh but now its been transform to a more modern twist of Vietnamese dishes . It's a small menu so it doesn't consume much thoughts. We started out with a couple of excellent go to drinks prepare by Allen , the spicy margarita and the old fashion , both are my favorite made by Allen . As for food we ordered the Vietnamese crawfish noodle, the roasted branzino with fermented dipping sauce , the shrimp coconut cakes, roasted bone marrow with pate , duck salad, tapioca noodles with soft sheep crabs, the mussels with lemongrass , and the braised boneless short ribs. Everything came out amazingly delicious and well presented. Even the sous chef Brian and bartender Allen came by to check on us . All the staffs was great and it turned out to be a perfect night for our family. It would be nice if they would install a TV by the bar then the place would attract more customers.

Yelp
After seeing a reel of this place on instagram, I was "influenced" to try this place out. However, my journey to try their dinner menu was somewhat of an adventure. I first visited during lunch time on a weekend. However, little did I know that their lunch menu doesn't include any of the fancy dinner menu items I saw on social media. The lunch menu includes traditional Vietnamese food like pho and vermicelli noodles. Food was great, but I was determined to come again to try their dinner items. A few weeks later, I came on a Friday night as a walk-in but was told they had no space for the rest of the night. Although a bit discouraged, it didn't stop me from visiting again! Third time's the charm -- I finally got in after making a reservation LOL The inside of the restaurant is unique and modern. Definitely a good date night spot. We got the duck salad, garlic crawfish noodles, and bu loc lac. Everything was super good. Each dish was packed with various flavor profiles. If you get the bu loc lac, definitely get some rice on the side to eat with the sauce, because that sauce is really something else. The duck salad had some sort of mustard dressing, and as someone who doesn't usually like mustard/wasabi, this was sooo good and refreshing. The aroma in the garlic noodles and the texture of the crawfish and salmon roe was great as well. My one complaint, which brings my rating down to a 4, is that the service was a bit slow. I understand that Saturday nights can get very busy, but that's to be expected of all restaurants. We got each dish separately as they were ready, and I think I would have preferred to receive all of them at once or at least with shorter wait times. We had to wait 10-15 minutes between each of the dishes. At least everyone was nice and the service itself was good. I'm hopeful that the service will become faster as the initial opening hype dies down. Overall, I would recommend this place for anyone wanting to try great Asian fusion food with a modern twist. I'd definitely come again to try the other menu items. Just make sure to come during dinner time and make a reservation :)

Yelp
I have often been to Pho Linh, but it is my first time trying Le Madeline, a Vietnamese fusion food. We arrived early before the dinner menu started. Our server was new, and the kitchen was slow, even though we were the only ones eating. We ordered the following: - Hàu Nướng Mỡ Hành (my favorite, not overly grilled, but the oyster was small) grilled oysters (grilled), scallions, kaffir lime vinaigrette, peanuts - Gỏi Vịt pan seared duck breast salad, banana blossoms, cabbage, herbs, crisps, Mắm Gừng Dijonnaise (the duck was good, but the salad and the dressing weren't for me) - Bánh Mì Tủy Xương (the kitchen burned it, and they had to redo the dish; the owner offered this dish for free) roasted bone marrow, toast, chicken liver pate, pickles - Bánh Khọt (a little too oily, and the shrimp can easily be overcooked) savory mini turmeric coconut cakes, shrimp, and scallions accompanied by fresh herbs and house nước chấm - Cơm Cháy Sò Điệp Nướng (scallop was giant and juicy) crispy caramelized rice, pan-seared scallops, baby corn, pickled shiitakes, snow peas, sweet so - Mì Xào Sườn Nướng (the pork chop was juicy and the crawfish was soaked with butter; not recommended if you prefer bland food) (Serves 2-4) Việt Cajun Crawfish Noodles - with a 32 oz lemongrass marinated bone-in pork chop, Việt ham XO noodles, crawfish butter, fried egg

Yelp
Hadn't tried Pho Linh before, but saw glowing reviews about Le Madeleine from Rubato's Chef Laurence and thought we'd pay a visit. My partner and I did Le Madeleine's Valentine's Day special five-course tasting menu, which included amuse: bánh mì pâté, 1) oysters two ways, 2) gỏi bưởi, 3) crawfish pasta, 4) bánh hỏi thịt bò & tôm nướng, and dessert: cà phê sữa dá crème brulée & mango crêpe cake, plus the Second Wind and Ode Fashioned drinks - TASTE: 5/5 - props to Chef Peter, everything was fantastic. Highlights included the signature crawfish garlic noodles w Viet XO sauce, and the grilled marinated hanger steak. Chef's kiss! Honorable mentions were the pate, the raw oysters w green chili sauce and shallots, and the tangy nuoc cham in the salad. Both desserts were a satisfying end to the meal; loved the strong coffee taste in the creme brûlée and sweet mango flavor in the crepe cake TEXTURE: 5/5 - from beginning to end, enjoyed the pate on the thin, toasted brioche, the fried oysters, the salad's candied walnuts, and the creamy consistencies of both desserts PRICE: 4/5 - this multi-course meal was $90 and truly worth it SERVING SIZE: 5/5 - I was expecting all of the plates to be small and shared, so when the last few dishes started coming out as larger, individual plates, I was pleasantly surprised. Both of us left absolutely stuffed from the whole meal SERVICE: 4/5 - made our reservation online via Resy a week before and noted my partner's shellfish allergy. The space was half-empty when we got there at 5:30pm on a Wednesday, and was full and bustling by the time we left. Our drinks came out 15min after ordering, and our courses started coming out shortly after at a steady pace. Staff was mindful of my partner's allergy and double-checked the swapped items w us ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - the light fixture drew our eyes immediately! A nice touch to what feels like a homey space PARKING: 4/5 - parked at Vane St Lot, a free 2-hour parking lot very close by, since street spots on Hancock St can be hit or miss

Yelp
What a comforting, accessible, yet contemporary-tinged Vietnamese dining experience!! Kudos to young chef Peter Nguyen, a Dorchester native who's developed quite the impressive culinary resume. This place is going to make a splash-- run don't walk! We can't wait to be back! After seeing rave instagram reviews by Laurence Louie (Rubato chef, across the street), we knew we had to check out the new Lê Madeline. At first, we were confused because of the different name on the building: Pho Linh, which occupies the space during daytimes. Logistics: Easy street parking. We arrived 5p on Sat; no resy required but it was quickly filling up by 6p. Service/Ambience: 4.5/5. We were promptly seated and warmly greeted. Our waiter offered attentive service, with spot-on food recommendations; food was out within 10min! The general space clearly has more humble decor that Lê Madeline has brilliantly upscaled through menu/plating choices. A calm environment for good conversation and a more casual date night vibe, although the food is nothing short of spectacular. Food/Drink: 5/5. - "Phone eats first." We weren't sure the spectacular presentation on instagram would translate to real life, but my oh my were we impressed! Even with dim lighting and an old iPhone, you know they are legit! - old fashioned ($10)- standard - duck breast on a herb salad w dijon base ($21)- they accidentally brought out this dish we didn't order, but we were so impressed; duck was tender, comforting, and cooked to perfection, carried by subtle flavors - savory turmeric coconut cakes w shrimp ($17)- once wrapped in herbs/lettuce and dipped in a fish sauce, you get a wonderfully textured, comforting bite of warm coconut cake with the light, cool crunch of greens, more subtle on the flavor palate again - garlic noodles w butter crawfish ($24)- STAR of the night and signature dish for good reason! comforting, flavorful, memorable noodles and crawfish. Craving it already! - grilled tiger shrimp over squash/coconut puree ($24) - the most beautiful dish! when the shrimp was eaten alone, it was too salty, but cooled and wrapped in the squash/coconut puree resulted in such a magical combination. - desserts are outsourced from sweet piglet bakery in Randolph. we asked for the most memorable dish and were very satisfied: red bean cheesecake ($11): coconut, orange, red bean; such a comforting dessert Price: 4/5, times are tough, and each dish was a little pricier than expected for Quincy. for 2, we had 4 dishes + 1 dessert + 1 drink, which would total $107+ tax/tip! We'll certainly be back for the duck/noodles and other new items on their ever-changing menu!!

Yelp
Came in on a rainy night with friends to try Le Madeline and it was delicious! Must order the bone marrow and crawfish garlic noodles. The mussels in coconut curry broth was so flavorful, I could drink the whole bowl. The bo luc lac was so tender! The duck goi salad was modern and fresh! They knew it was our anniversary and gave us dessert on the house. Red bean viet coffee crème brûlée was so good, not too sweet! Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Went here for lunch. Be aware that their lunch menu is very different them their dinner menu. Lunch is typical Vietnamese. But for the elevated stuff you have to go for the dinner menu. Thats a bit annoying. Luckily we asked to see the dinner menu and there were a few dinner options available. We got the Banh Khot (savory mini coconut cakes with shrimp) and the Cajun crawfish garlic noodles. Banh Knot was delicious! We def getting that again. The Crawfish noodles were also well flavored and the fish eggs on top was a nice touch. We also ordered the Soda Chanh, Carbonated lime drink that was underwhelming and needed more carbonation.

Dennis C.

Yelp
Food was not good at all. We had the shrimp spring rolls and there were decaying pieces of lettuce inside. The pho diet bac broth was very bland/not much flavor. We also had the crawfish noodle and it was a bit too sweet for our liking (we thought it would be a bit more savory). Staffs were friendly.

Yelp
The flavors are so unique. Our favorite dishes were: - Loc Lac - Mussels - Chicken Wings - Crawfish Pasta Loved the drinks too.

Yelp
Finally we made it here to see what's all the rave about. The decor is just ok nothing too fancy. Great crowds and good music (a little on a loud side). The menu is a mix of Vietnamese and French so do expect some dishes come in smaller portions. The food is good, very flavorful, tasty and interesting. The price is very fair. There is a full bar with great mix drinks and they are not cheap on alcohol which is great!! The service is quick and professional.Definitely will come back again!!!

Yelp
The food was great service was good too prices were reasonable lunch and dinner parking on the street

Yelp
I respect the attempt at modernizing traditional Vietnamese cuisine, but I felt the dishes we ordered needed some balancing of heavier flavors. Peanuts and scallions overpowered the oysters, lobster roll and garlic noodles had great flavor but would've liked some complexity. Service could be improved and more engaging. AC was blasting and kind of cooled the food too fast

Yelp
Weak. Imagine mid food with modern plating. Got a bunch of food and everything was pretty meeh. Main standout is the bone marrow that wasn't properly rendered with barely any color to the marrow. Again we also got the duck and the fat wasn't rendered at all leaving a chewy fat and skin.

Yelp
I went here in the afternoon. I thought I could get Le Madeline menu, but I guess it's only serve at night time. The foods were alright. I give food 3/5. Services 4/5. They are nice people. Should I be back again? Maybe because I still want to try their dinner menu.

Yelp
Good attempt at elevating Vietnamese cuisine in the US. I was very excited to try out this place as not a lot of restaurants in the States are able to execute Vietnamese cuisine in a more modern, high-end settings. First of all, the drink is very creative. The Legroni made alcohol and pandan flavor/scent a match in heaven. Awesome drink, nothing to complain there. Food-wise, the restaurant should be more focus on it. The Bun Bo Hue was seriously under-seasoned. I prefer lighter/bland cooking but even this is way too bland for me. Unlike Pho, which can be elegant in taste, Bun Bo Hue needs that oomf of spice, lemongrass, and pork/beef flavor when eaten. It's missing the depth and oomf that a good bowl of Bun Bo Hue should give you. Furthermore, the side of herbs to go with it is just sad. If you gonna garnish it with banana blossom then give a decent amount of it, or don't give it at all. I have probably 3-4 strands of banana blossom in my herb plate, and that I can assure you is not an exaggeration. To top it all, they did not have AC/ceiling fan turn on that day at all which made the overall experience hot and unpleasant. I was very excited to take all of my friends here to experience Vietnamese food but after this trip I really have to rethink it. The service was ok, nothing special from my visit. I hope Le Madeline can improve on overall ambiance (seriously it's too hot to sot there and dine comfortably) and of course the food (Viet food CAN be elevated, you guys can definitely do better!)

Yelp
Le Madeline is the new addition to Boston's culinary scene offering an exciting fusion of Vietnamese flavors that push the boundaries of traditional cuisine. One of my favorites was chem chep xao dua which was succulent mussels in a divine coconut and lemongrass broth. The real star of the show was banh my tuy xuong (bone marrow with banh mi). This dish takes traditional Vietnamese flavors to a whole new level by combining the rich, buttery bone marrow with the crunch of banh mi and other traditional accoutrements. The other must have dishes we tried was the scallops with caramalized rice, Viet Cajun crawfish noodles, and Bo luc lac. From innovative takes on classic favorites to daring new creations, Le Madeline delivers an unforgettable dining experience that is as daring as it is delicious. Prepare to be wowed by their creativity and captivated by their bold flavors.

Yelp
Still dreaming about Chef Peter's decadent meal. We loved everything but the crawfish noodles, scallops, and Bo luc lac was our favorite. We've gone 3 times since the pop up and have enjoyed each time. Elevated Vietnamese is missing from Boston and I'm happy to finally have it here instead of flying to Houston or LA. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Super duper impressed with our first visit. The small plate menu is truly innovative and creative. We visited for my birthday and it did not disappoint. We will be back soon!

Yelp
I get it. It's meant to be upscale pho. I had the oxtail- it was decent but would I pay that much again? Nah. Not worth trying in my opinion, better affordable options elsewhere. Cocktails are decent and service is pretty good. Busy part of more Quincy so always difficult if find parking.

Yelp
I was surprised to see an additional charge of $0.95 for having beef on the side, something I haven't encountered at other Vietnamese restaurants. Additionally, the wrap on the fresh spring rolls was so chewy that it was difficult to eat. Due to these issues, I don't think I will come back.

Yelp
To be honest, I was a REALLY big fan for a long long time, ordered there always and went in every couple weeks, with friends. EVER SINCE THE REMODEL/REBRAND it just hasnt been the same, everything is different, we used to get the same thing every time and its now all gone, and items i loved now contain ingredients I'm allergic to..... the vibe is completely off too sometimes bigger and better isnt better.... loyal customers lost unfortunately

Yelp
Incredible experience. Came down from Boston proper to check this out as I've been hearing a lot of hype. The oysters, duck salad, and craw fish noodles (!!) we're the highlights. Thoughtful cocktails - the pandan Negroni and mezcal pear drinks were phenomenal. Comfy space, great service. Nothing bad to say. 10.

Yelp
The hosts moves a lot of 2 guests parties into 4 guests tables, and keep letting walk-ins flowing in making it worse for reserved bigger parties while not doing any moving-around to help with the bottle neck. The food is really good, with more re-representation of Vietnamese food than transformation. Also authentic Vietnamese plates are influenced by Southern Vietnamese sweet palate and also moderated to please weaker palate guests. The kitchen is happy to provided additional components to dial the food's flavoring, if you can get the right waiter and explain the right way (we tried 5 times) Ambience: the dark lighting making socializing more intimate but harder for social media (not a huge issue with your flash). 1 loud speaker so you gotta pick a table if available further away to be able to hear each other.

Yelp
Nice playing, cheap cocktails, food is priced right, good service. Highly recommend the marrow and the crawfish noodle. Wish they could make it extra garlicky.

Yelp
Food, drinks, ambiance - they have it all. The bone marrow is amazing and they touch on the traditional Vietnamese flavor with a modern twist. The staff is great and they are attentive to the customers. Suggestions bone marrow dish and the oysters are amazing!

Yelp
What a local gem! We tried the duck salad, crawfish noodles and bo luc lac. All were so much better than most, if not all, restaurant foods in Quincy. They were all tasty although I do wish they were a bit less salty. Servers were very attentive and nice as well. Can't wait to go back and try different things on the menu. Definitely see myself as a future regular here.

Yelp
Love it! Got the pork knuckle soup and a durian smoothie! Rivals the cheeslings of nearby restaurant bb.q but even better. A squelching good time!

Yelp
Interesting modern fusion of Vietnamese cuisine. Had a good time. If you ever can't get reservations they do take walk-ins at the bar and have decent space if you're lucky.

Yelp
Bone marrow banh mi and crawfish noodles were both excellent. Coconut cakes and scalllops were solid. Lingroni had a nice twist with fragrant pandan. Ambience was clean and trendy in the old pho linh location. Overall would highly recommend this new restaurant in Quincy. Can't wait to come back and try other dishes!

Yelp
Incredible service and spectacular food. If you are Vietnamese, you will be so surprised by how much these dishes still have authentic flavors despite being elevated
