"If pho and banh mi are more the vibe, I’d go to Luc Lac, which is open until 11 p.m." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Where to Eat and Drink During Portland’s 2023 Waterfront Blues Festival | Eater Portland

"As a 'quick' lunch option, Luc Lac can attract major lines for its Vietnamese soups and sandwiches, but ordering takeout online speeds things up significantly — pick up banh mi to eat on the go or vermicelli bowls for a picnic in the park." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

The pho was mediocre. I threw away most of my meat because they gave me a lot of fatty pieces. If you want good pho, you should eat at Pho Papa. You won't want to go here afterwards. The waitress rolled her eyes when I asked for the fish sauce. Turns out the fish sauce sucks. No flavor. Bo luc lac is good. They do give a lot of chicken salad. This was the 1st and last time I will order pho here. I like how they have tripe in their pho but that was it. Other pho places stopped including tripe. But tripe alone is not worth a bowl of pho that is average. I ended up sharing the rest of the leftover pho with my dog. He is not picky and eats anything. Don't be like my dog, you can chose to eat better pho at Pho Papa, Pho San Jose or even Pho 21 plus you will get better service than here.

Best Pho in South Bay hands down. The broth is so flavorful. Ask for the chili oil on the side

Glad we found this Vietnamese restaurant close to home! It’s a small place but it does fill up during lunch and dinner! The food is amazing and fresh and the service is great, plenty of parking! The veggie sandwich is amazing, big chunks of tofu, shredded and marinated carrots and radish, slices of jalapeños and cilantro on a baguette, excellent! I washed it down with a cup of savory chicken broth with chopped green onions, also comes with fries hot and crunchy! The veggie Pho was excellent as well!

The shaken beef was really good. The outside was charred and the inside was tender. The tomato rice was ok. It was kind of soggy. My GF really liked the bun bo hue. The egg rolls were really good. The service was good. The food came out fast. If I'm ever in San Jose again I'm coming back for the shaken beef.

4.5 overall! +Great tasting meats +Large portions for the large pho -noodles were a bit too soft for me -soup broth was tasty but too oily for me -price was a bit on the higher side (18.75 for a large?)

First time here & we loved it. Location is easy to access and interior is clean & spacious. Staff are nice and attentive. Everything we ordered came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. Perfect portions & pricing. We ordered the Bun Bo Hue, Pho Dac Biet, Butter garlic wings, fried spring rolls, & Thai tea, green Thai tea, & passion fruit lemonade. The Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef soup) was very delicious. Clean broth with a little kick of spice. This is probably my favorite Bun Bo Hue. It is fully loaded with beef slices, tendon, slices of minced pork sausage, blood cake, & all. I ordered the regular & it was a very good size portion for me. My friend ordered the pho dac biet which is the pho combo special. She completely finished it and said it was really good. The garlic butter wings were also really good. Crispy & juicy! It tasted so good with a little lemon squeezed on top. We also got to try the fried spring rolls. Also very crispy! You can ask for a side of lettuce/veggies to make a sort of spring roll veggie wrap & dip into fish sauce. Yum! Drinks: we ordered Thai Tea, green Thai tea, & passion fruit lemonade. Other pho restaurants dont sell the best milk tea drinks but this restaurant got it right! The Thai tea was so good. Deep Thai tea flavor & creamy, a crowd favorite. It was our first time ever hearing of green Thai tea & it was also good. It has a floral almost green tea/matcha like flavor. Lighter than the regular Thai milk tea for those wanting something lighter. The passion fruit lemonade was also soooo good. Not too sour or sweet. It was perfect in my opinion & perfectly refreshing. All in all, not only does this restaurant sell great & well cooked food, they have some creative dishes not available at other restaurants of this type. I would definitely come back to try out more of their menu. We had a good experience & I would bring my friends & family here.

The regular pho was well done, generous portions of ingredients & very hot broth for a cold rainy day. Might be too much msg / salt. Felt terribly thirsty after, literally my throat was parched less than half hour after. The pork belly rice was delicious according to brother-in-law. Service was brisk & a bit abrupt, otherwise adequate.

Very neat and clean restaurant serving fresh, high quality Vietnamese food. Their combination pho is meaty, flavorful and aromatic, perfectly satisfying especially on a cold, dreary day. The fresh spring rolls, along with the peanut sauce, were hands down the best I’ve had in this area.
