Where to Find Late-Night Stoner Food in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"If pho and banh mi are more the vibe, I’d go to Luc Lac, which is open until 11 p.m." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Where to Eat and Drink During Portland’s 2023 Waterfront Blues Festival | Eater Portland

"As a 'quick' lunch option, Luc Lac can attract major lines for its Vietnamese soups and sandwiches, but ordering takeout online speeds things up significantly — pick up banh mi to eat on the go or vermicelli bowls for a picnic in the park." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

This place is a local gem in South San Jose, tucked away in an unassuming strip mall near Camden. Don’t let the location fool you — the food quality is exceptional and authentic. The pho is deeply flavorful with tender meat, and the chicken pho in particular has incredible depth and is a perfect comfort dish on cold winter days. The Pad Thai drunken noodles and lemongrass chicken are also consistently good and well-executed.

This place is amazing, good portion control and food itself tastes great. it has the best Bun Bo Hue I’ve ever had in my life. BUT the indoor atmosphere is really depressing because of the amount of LED Blue Lights used along with the cold colors in the dining atmosphere, also while being somewhat dim with the black roof, trims and seating furniture. If the owners see this PLEASE try out warmer bulbs or a light cover to turn the place warmer, and maybe make it a bit brighter. No other complaints food is probably top 5 in the Bay Area in my experience.

Google
The shaken beef was really good. The outside was charred and the inside was tender. The tomato rice was ok. It was kind of soggy. My GF really liked the bun bo hue. The egg rolls were really good. The service was good. The food came out fast. If I'm ever in San Jose again I'm coming back for the shaken beef.

Google
Best Pho in South Bay hands down. The broth is so flavorful. Ask for the chili oil on the side

Google
The pho was mediocre. I threw away most of my meat because they gave me a lot of fatty pieces. If you want good pho, you should eat at Pho Papa. You won't want to go here afterwards. The waitress rolled her eyes when I asked for the fish sauce. Turns out the fish sauce sucks. No flavor. Bo luc lac is good. They do give a lot of chicken salad. This was the 1st and last time I will order pho here. I like how they have tripe in their pho but that was it. Other pho places stopped including tripe. But tripe alone is not worth a bowl of pho that is average. I ended up sharing the rest of the leftover pho with my dog. He is not picky and eats anything. Don't be like my dog, you can chose to eat better pho at Pho Papa, Pho San Jose or even Pho 21 plus you will get better service than here.

Google
Glad we found this Vietnamese restaurant close to home! It’s a small place but it does fill up during lunch and dinner! The food is amazing and fresh and the service is great, plenty of parking! The veggie sandwich is amazing, big chunks of tofu, shredded and marinated carrots and radish, slices of jalapeños and cilantro on a baguette, excellent! I washed it down with a cup of savory chicken broth with chopped green onions, also comes with fries hot and crunchy! The veggie Pho was excellent as well!

Google
4.5 overall! +Great tasting meats +Large portions for the large pho -noodles were a bit too soft for me -soup broth was tasty but too oily for me -price was a bit on the higher side (18.75 for a large?)

Google
First time here & we loved it. Location is easy to access and interior is clean & spacious. Staff are nice and attentive. Everything we ordered came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. Perfect portions & pricing. We ordered the Bun Bo Hue, Pho Dac Biet, Butter garlic wings, fried spring rolls, & Thai tea, green Thai tea, & passion fruit lemonade. The Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef soup) was very delicious. Clean broth with a little kick of spice. This is probably my favorite Bun Bo Hue. It is fully loaded with beef slices, tendon, slices of minced pork sausage, blood cake, & all. I ordered the regular & it was a very good size portion for me. My friend ordered the pho dac biet which is the pho combo special. She completely finished it and said it was really good. The garlic butter wings were also really good. Crispy & juicy! It tasted so good with a little lemon squeezed on top. We also got to try the fried spring rolls. Also very crispy! You can ask for a side of lettuce/veggies to make a sort of spring roll veggie wrap & dip into fish sauce. Yum! Drinks: we ordered Thai Tea, green Thai tea, & passion fruit lemonade. Other pho restaurants dont sell the best milk tea drinks but this restaurant got it right! The Thai tea was so good. Deep Thai tea flavor & creamy, a crowd favorite. It was our first time ever hearing of green Thai tea & it was also good. It has a floral almost green tea/matcha like flavor. Lighter than the regular Thai milk tea for those wanting something lighter. The passion fruit lemonade was also soooo good. Not too sour or sweet. It was perfect in my opinion & perfectly refreshing. All in all, not only does this restaurant sell great & well cooked food, they have some creative dishes not available at other restaurants of this type. I would definitely come back to try out more of their menu. We had a good experience & I would bring my friends & family here.

Yelp
I hadn't eaten in person at Pho Luc Lac in years, but it's the place I usually get pho delivered from. It was even better in person. I got their house special named "pho luc lac," which is a pho with filet mignon, meatballs, brisket, and tendon. Having the filet made it taste very luxurious. I forgot how nice this place is for a quick meal. Service is fast and friendly. It was very nice to have a hot meal on a rainy day!

Yelp
Short review: If you go here, get the house special Pho Luc Lac Longer review: Fine Vietnamese spot but the quality isn't close to the Viet restaurants in east side of San Jose. Between the Pho Luc Lac and the Thit Kho (pork belly rice), the Pho Luc Lac was the standout simply because of the quantity of meat and noodles. However, the meat quality in the pho wasn't great, and the broth was a bit unexpected since it's soy sauce based rather than a traditional pho broth. Pros - The pieces of Bo Luc Lac in the bowl were good - The large portion of meat and noodles in the Pho Luc Lac Cons - Overall quality of the meats outside of the Bo Luc Lac were low - Waiter never came by to refill the water for our entire 50 minute visit - The soy sauce based broth of the house special Pho was a bit strange for my taste - The Thit Kho was meh, the meat pieces were tough and dry but the sauce at the bottom helped keep it somewhat alright

Yelp
Came here during the weekend when Pho sounded great on a rainy, wet night. The service is friendly and quick! We were seated right away. Ordered the Chicken Pho (regular size) and it's a meal for two! The broth is great - definitely need to add the sauces at the table to customize it for your liking. Generous amounts of tender, moist chicken breast. Loved the fresh bean sprouts (also very generous). They could have possibly given more than 2 jalapeno slices and maybe more Thai basil. The lime is fresh and juicy to squeeze into the broth. The spring rolls are also very tasty. Taking 1 star as the siracha at the table was a little watered down :(

Yelp
I visited here twice in the last week, and this spot was super busy both times. Definitely a local favorite for pho. And I see exactly why. The service is standard, the ambience is standard, but the food is the real winner. I ordered the house special pho which comes with a special soy sauce pho broth - garlicky and spicy and unlike any other broth I have tried before. They add a generous amount of meat and the soup is always piping hot. I highly recommend to check out this spot if you're under the weather or craving delicious pho!

Yelp
Located in a strip mall, decided to stop by here for lunch and got the pho and bun Bo hue to try. Overall a decent place to go to if you're in the area. Pho noodles were a bit on the softer side but still enjoyable. Portions were generous, soup was better than average. Bun Bo hue is lighter is flavor than your traditional BBH (less shrimp paste flavor) but still was flavorful. Both soups came piping hot, and service was quick!

Yelp
My go to Vietnamese spot! The broth is delicious and always consistent. I also appreciate how clean this place is. I've been here a few times now, and it's consistently good. The pho has a clean, flavorful broth, not too sweet or oily and the meat quality is really good. The bo luc lac is the standout for me. It's well seasoned, tender, and comes with a salad and tomato rice. Definitely worth ordering if you want something other than soup. Service is efficient and friendly, and food comes out fast. The place is casual, nothing fancy, but it's clean and comfortable. Prices are fair for the portions.

Yelp
We love this place. Not a lot of great pho options in south San Jose right proper. Majority of the good places are on the east side and I'm happy to have a geography discussion if someone wants to bring me a map LOL. Our go to orders are the short rib banh mi, combination pho, and or the shaking beef with TOMATO rice.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid pho spot. The broth here is so comforting and consistent! I've tried the beef pho but love getting the seafood one with egg noodle. It's got a clear broth but tastes super flavorful still. Love that it's authentic and closeby. Also tried their passionfruit lemonade and it's very refreshing. Service is quick and attentive! I've also doordashed from here and it's just as good. Definitely worth trying, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Very impressed with this place! First off, very clean restaurant which I always appreciate and find makes the dining experience SJ much more enjoyable. The food is fantastic. I ordered the veggie pho and the veggie spring rolls. Generous servings, fresh ingredients, excellent flavors. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Pretty good viet food. The service was excellent. The restaurant has homely decorations and feels cozy. It's also very clean.

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing. Hands down the best pho I've had (and they have 3 noodle choices!). As a table we got the Vegetarian Fried Egg Rolls, the Drunken Noodle, Pho Luc Lac, mi hoanh thanh (wonton soup), bun Bo hue (spicy beef soup). If you like spicy, bun Bo hue is SPICY, and full of flavor. The Pho Luc Lac is the best pho I have ever had. Broth is flavorful, rich, and warming. Get the extra meat option and you will be FULL! The egg rolls were so good, not greasy at all, and the filling was tastey! When I come back I will order the drunken noodles again. They are so good. The noodles here have the perfect level of chew to them. For the holidays, the place has a tree and some decorations. Otherwise the place has lots of natural light, cute plants crawling on the walls, and the cutest ceiling decorations! Food came out fast and hot.

Yelp
My new favorite Vietnamese spot in the area! I came with a group of friends on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait time. It gave very homey vibes, we tried a variety of dishes including the com tam, banh mi and the bun thit nuong. We all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and the portion was a great size! I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Decided to try Pho Luc Lac delivery tonight because I was in the mood for something different and hadn't had pho for several years. Ordered the Eye Round and Brisket Noodle Soup and the Spring Rolls. It arrived quickly and the broth was nice and hot. Everything was nicely packaged so there were no spills. I really enjoyed the pho. The broth had a good flavor that tasted even better after adding the onions that accompanies it. The brisket was fatty, but tasted great. It came with the usual side ingredients you get with pho: noodles, bean sprouts, basil, onions, chives, lime, jalapeño, and two small containers of mystery sauce. There was enough pho for two bowls, but I would have liked a little more meat. The Spring Rolls, which had shrimp and pork in them, were fresh and scrumptious. They came with a large container of peanut sauce. My only complaint is the peanut sauce had too much red pepper in it and was too spicy for me. I can't handle spice. Overall it was a delicious meal. I can't wait to order it again.

Yelp
I didn't realize there was a pho place in this plaza and I would drive into this plaza many times. I enter through the El Pollo Loco side which is also the reason. There should be a sign near the the entrance of the parking lots for all the shops. I always go to pho places on Capitol Expressway or the one in Cambrian area on Northwest Camden Ave. Only reason I found out about it is because one of my friend told me about it yesterday. I ordered the large dac biet and forgot to take a picture of the pho before I put the condiments in. The smell of the broth was really good. I always taste my broth without any condiments or lime to taste the broth and it was on par to a lot of the famous pho locations on Capitol Expressway and Story. The broth was not bland as the 1-2 star reviews say it was and I like my pho broth bold. True 80's asian kids can tell the broth has been simmered for a good duration because the bone flavor was definitely there. The gia via (coriander seeds, star anise, cinnamon stick, etc) did not overpower the broth but I wish it had a little more of that flavor to make it a little potent. The pho was on the sweet side which makes me believe that they did not use graduated sugar and instead, they probably used rock sugar which is what you want restaurants to use in their beef broth. They did charge for the nuoc beo and hanh dam which sucks but it seems like this is now the norm at most pho places in the Bay Area. My kids like the pho here also. They said it was better or on par with other locations in San Jose but it didn't beat one location for my youngest son. The prices are similar to other pho locations so if you live in South San Jose on Blossom Hill exit or west of 101, you should try this place out if it's closer than going to Capitol Expressway. Regarding service, we didn't expect much when it comes to family owned Vietnamese restaurants. Usually we ask for everything we need when they take our order or when they bring the food out. They brought everything we asked and it was quick. They also came to ask if we wanted more water in between our meal which was surprising since it's usually unheard of. So the service is definitely better than most Vietnamese pho and noodle places when we ate here today. I will probably hit this place more now since it's closer to my house when my family needs a pho fix and I'm too lazy to make my own pho. Check this place out if you are in the area. Also a note, try the broth first before u add the hoisen just in case it's already sweet for your taste. You can also add 1-2 spoonful of nouc beo in the broth to stabilize the flavor a little.

Yelp
I come here to eat my favorite dish, which is their spring rolls. I get to take my kids to Taekwondo and enjoy my spring rolls while I wait for them to come out The spring rolls are delicious and fresh! Their peanut sauce is also good and goes great with the spring rolls! The staff is very cheerful and greets you as soon as you come in. The place is always clean and is cleaned constantly as soon as someone leaves. This is my go-to spot!

Yelp
I came to try the vegetarian PHO. Very flavorful for a vegetarian dish. Plenty of vegetables and the broth was very good.

Yelp
Pretty tasty Vietnamese spot. Nothing crazy and spectacular but food is on point and tasty. I loved the spicy beef pho...the flavors were really tasty but it burned my mouth for some reason. Could be peppercorn but it wasn't spicy? Not really sure, but was tasty regardless. Seafood pho was interesting but was just a basic broth, not too much flavor. Rice vermicelli bowl was tasty and pork was grilled to perfection. Service was fast, everyone was friendly and food came out quick! Line was quite long outside
google avatar

Dynaton T.

Yelp
Really good pho and bun thit nuong. The bun was my favorite. The spring rolls were fresh and decent sized. Cafe Sua Da was also very good. Nice flavor and strong taste. 5/5 would come back
google avatar

Yelp
One of my go to places for pho. The broth has a slightly unique flavor that I really like! The staff are always very attentive and there's plenty of seating even during busy times. They do a nice job decorating the inside.
google avatar

Yelp
I was on the hunt for bun bu hue. And decided to try this place out. It's a bitter away than my usually spot. But their soup is spicy and filling. They don't have a lot of seating,we end up sitting near the bathroom. My brother got the classic pho with the beef balls and tendons. He liked it a lot. He will full. The bun bu hue comes with pigs blood, the meat loaf, and other meat. The shrimp paste and chilli sauce made the noodle and soup even better.
google avatar

Deb W.

Yelp
Finally a decent Vietnamese restaurant in my neighborhood. The tables were clean. We sat near the bathroom so beware noticed the high traffic of waiting. We were seated quickly. It took a little bit to get the menus and then order. The combination bun with shrimp pork and egg roll was good. Each component well cooked. The beef chow fun had a good flavor. The pho was good. The broth was a bit star anise heavy but worth trying again. The prices are reasonable. Kids approved.

Yelp
I love this place!! my goto spot in willow glen area-- Best viet restaurant in the area ! Esp if you don't want to drive all the way to Tully/ story / grand century area !! All the dishes I've tried here have been good !! - Bun Bo hue : 10/10 ** spicy anddddddd really good . On par with an nam and bun Bo hue spot near grand century - Com Bo luc lac with garlic tomato rice : 10/10 * sooooo goooood. Medium rare steak with garlic tomato rice and fish sauce - Pho : 10/10 * I have tried the pho yet but my friends and family said it's good Service : 10/10 * quick , attentive, easy going Decor: clean and modern ; not the typical viet restaurant. They even decorated for the holidays ( Halloween and Xmas ) super cute Would come back ( which I have multiple times already )
google avatar

Yelp
the broth was extremely flavorful & not too oily, lots of green onions (yum!), love how thinly sliced the steak was, & i upgraded to the fresh noodles for $1 (slightly thicker fresh rice noodles), which were a nice addition! service was quick & food came out fash. good portion for the price, will definitely be returning here. one of the best bowls of pho ive had in the bay area so far

Yelp
Generous portions delicious BBH I'll be back for pho next time! Did not take pho shot but pho here is delicious better than most places, friendly staff Charming lollipop display for kids after their meal

Yelp
This is now my favorite place to go for Pho. I ordered the combination and there's a substantial amount if meat in it. Good food, fast service, and glad to find it in my neighborhood. Would try their other selections next time.

Yelp
Went here earlier today - took a friend out for a birthday lunch. I actually used to come to this shopping center when they had an arcade.... A very long time ago! Ok, back to the restaurant review... Pros- I was seated right away, even though our full party was not there. Our meet up time was noon, so that was quite nice. I was also able to order apps, and they were ready right as my friend came. Plenty of parking, always a great plus! The garlic butter wings were very tasty! The wings were the best bite of the meal. I'd come back for these- if I'm in the area. Cons- service was ok...not the friendliest. I felt like I was bothering the waitstaff when I asked for small plates for our appetizers (ordered egg rolls in addition to the garlic butter chicken wings), and during the ordering process we asked for an extra bowl, since we were sharing the order of pho. When we asked again, after the pho was placed down at the table without an extra bowl, it felt like we received the stink eye (again) from the waitress. Another bummer - I usually love Vietnamese egg rolls (all egg rolls and lumpia....yum!) The ones we had were just ok. I think they were taken out of the fryer a bit early and were not fully crispy, which also caused them to be oily in the non-crispy spots. The pho broth was good, but the steak was overcooked when it came to the table. Roots Bistro's pho was/is a lot better. So... while I had fun celebrating my friend's birthday and enjoyed the garlic butter chicken wings, I would not make a special drive to come back. It's about 16 minutes away from my house, and there are a lot of great spots much closer to home. Of course, if I am in the area already, I would stop by for more garlic butter wings! Mmmmmm!

Yelp
I stumbled across Pho Luc Lac on my social media and bookmarked this joint because my daughter enjoys Vietnamese shaken beef. After a very long day at a local park/zoo, Pho Luc Lac seemed like the perfect meal to reenergize & end the day with. The restaurant is smaller than expected but the staff does a great job when it comes to its customer turnover rate. The process is quick and seamless, without missing a beat when it comes to cleanliness. Our family of 3 was seated and the young gentleman kindly adjusted the blinds to provide shade and ensure our comfort. Menus were provided and although he was quick to ask if we were ready to order, he was super receptive to our request for more time. The menu is great. The offerings give you a good amount to choose from without being overly complicated. The typical Vietnamese staples are all present: pho, rice plates, vermicelli bowls, stir fry dishes, & Vietnamese sandwiches. With the name "Pho Luc Lac", I couldn't help but put them to the taste. Purchases of the night: -BEEF COMBINATION PHO [fresh noodles available for an upcharge] -COM BO LUC LAC [no alternative noodle/pasta options. The plate either comes with red rice or white rice] -GARLIC BUTTER CHICKEN WINGS Food: Everything we ordered was good. Portions were good and the presentation was nice- nothing sloppily thrown together. The pho broth was delicious! That says a lot from someone who doesn't like pho. Broth was flavored well to the point where condiments aren't even needed, it was not overly oily, and the beef flavor shined. The noodles were cooked almost al dente-ish?? My toddler is a slow eater and she was able to manage her bowl without the noodles getting overly soggy and eventually becoming too hard to eat. BONUS POINTS SPECIFICALLY FOR THE EXECUTION OF THE PHO NOODLES! The shaken beef with red rice was great. Again, not a fan of rice and especially not a fan of red rice but even I was able to enjoy this. The beef cubes all had charred edges but did not taste burnt. The beef was tender, cooked to my request [medium], and the marinade was tasty. I enjoyed every aspect of this dish including the vinaigrette coating the salad. Chef's kiss y'all, don't sleep on the Bo luc lac. The wings were okay. They were thoroughly cooked and the outer crisp was nice. The only unfortunate part is the garlic butter flavoring that was very very mild. It kind of just tasted like regular fried chicken. Good but not something I feel like I'd have to have again. 5/5 stars. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Don't be shy to ask for recommendations or throw out questions, they are here to assist. The establishment is 100% efficient when it comes to getting you in, fed, and out- without you feeling rushed. The food is delicious and I would happily enjoy myself a bowl of pho or rice plate again. Who am I???? Lmao.

Yelp
Literally the best pho I've ever had. I actually pulled over cause traffic was horrid and I needed to find a restroom. The amazing smell of this place drew me in and I ordered Lean Brisket and omg... I ordered another to go Straight up the Jasmine milk tea is so delish! Not too sweet and you can actually taste the tea. Service was incredibly fast. Can't wait to bring my family back here!

Yelp
Clean, well spaced interior, staff are friendly and polite, food was served fairly quickly and was very good quality. Bahn mi were large with lots of filling and pho was very good!!

Yelp
Nice little place with quick service The food was really tasty too. The grilled pork was tender and aromatic. My wife's pho was really good too. We will return if we are in the area again.

Yelp
Yesterday, it was super gloomy and cold out so I was craving pho. I stumbled upon Pho Luc Lac and had to give it a try. My go to orders are tofu spring rolls as an appetizer and beef meatball pho for my entree. The tofu spring roll was perfect and the tofu was perfectly seasoned. The pho hit the spot and it warmed me up instantly. The service was wonderful and they were all super attentive. The ambiance is lively and the interior decor is so happy. Give Pho Luc Lac a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
Love this place. We'll be back again. We drove from San Mateo just to looking for Pho in SJ ... they're delicious. love it service is friendly and sweet. Thank you.

Yelp
We've been going here since it first opened up several years ago. The pho broth is amazing, and so is the BBHue, and I've introduced many friends to this restaurant. Note to owner: PLEASE provide real chopsticks. The disposable ones you have are so small/thin/short that it's difficult to use, not to mention the environmental impact.
google avatar

Yelp
Out running errands, daughter wanted pho. Pho Luc Lac has apparently been on my bookmarks for places to try. Upon arrival, there was plenty of parking up front. Walked in and the place was packed so this was a good sign. Friendly service and was seated right away. We ordered the brisket pho and the ribeye over fried rice. Ribeye was very good. Had it prepared medium rare and it was delicious. Was good with the fried rice. Pho was good too. My daughter is picky with pho but she finished her whole bowl. Would definitely return here again if I'm in the area. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Pho Get About other Vietnamese restaurants :-) This place serves fresh, delicious cuisine and is officially promoted to my go2 for Vietnamese cuisine. Nothing fancy, just tasty, tasty...

Yelp
Oh, The PHÓ, is Awesome Yummy DELICIOUS. When I came into the restaurant it's nice, clean and relaxing. It was a busy dinner time plenty of busle going on. I also purchased Mixed Combo Fried Rice, we will enjoy. Feeling quite full for now . Thank You Pho Luc Lac
google avatar

Sofy Y.

Yelp
Came here yesterday and it's been really mid the last couple times I came. I always get the ribeye over fried rice and fish sauce wings, got the combo pho this time too. Last 2 times + one time getting it delivered my rice in the ribeye just tasted soapy, like what they cooked it in wasn't properly washed. Ribeye also had a lot of gristle and lacked the flavor I've come to know and love here, taste of fire and sweetness. Fish sauce wings were good but the drumsticks were cooked unevenly, some seemed over cooked and others seemed under cooked. TLDR: not as tasty as previous years and messed up my stomach Service was very attentive though as per usual. I think they need to improve their interior a little too, they have a bunch of extra supplies blocking a window where they could have seating, and it's just looking sparse, the faux wisteria kinda isn't doing much for ambiance anymore
google avatar

Phil V.

Yelp
I don't necessarily come here for Pho. 4.5/5 pretty good, rounded up. Their BBH is nice when you want Bun Bo Hue, but your companions don't want to each have to get the same thing. You could get Pho or other typical Vietnamese rice/noodle dishes here. The garlic butter chicken wings, which are freshly cooked every single time, are what makes me crave this place the most. I don't understand what business a Vietnamese restaurant has to be cooking these amazing wings way better than 99% of wing restaurants lol. Finger licking, crispy, juicy. - Solid pho as well as solid bo luc lac. - Green Thai tea is decent drink as well. - Fried egg rolls are nice since they include taro, but a bit oily. Needs to be drained a lot longer.

Yelp
My first 5 star review of 2025 goes to Pho Luc Lac! I can't believe it's taken me this long to finally Yelp this place. It rivals other pho restaurants I've been to in San Jose and will now be my go-to for pho and vermicelli! Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to dine-in so we ordered the following dishes for take out: Brisket Pho - I couldn't believe how many slices of brisket they gave us. It's hard to tell from my picture but that entire section was filled! There was also a large amount of noodles and veggies. With pho, the broth is the most important factor and they did not miss on the flavor - it was very rich and savory. You can also taste hints of the aromatics like star anise, cinnamon, and cloves. Vegetarian Pho - Since we ordered togo, the broth was labeled with a "veggie" sticker to avoid confusion with the beef one. Thank you for that! Again, there was such a generous amount of tofu, veggies, and noodles. Even though this was vegetarian, the broth, although different, did not miss a beat with its flavors. Chicken Fried Rice - what an abundance amount of chicken! The rice was wok-fried. You can really taste the "wok hei" or "wok breath" which really gave the rice such an amazing taste. Combination vermicelli - generous amount of grilled pork, shrimp, and one egg roll cut in half. This ended up being two meals for me. Tofu with egg rolls vermicelli - the fish sauce was also labeled "veg" and again another winner. They took over the old Golden Rice Bowl restaurant location several years ago and are located across the street from Safeway with plenty of parking. If my togo order was this good, I can only imagine how much better it'd be dining in and eating it fresh in the restaurant. Pho Luc Lac doesn't skimp on its flavors or portions. I'm excited to dine-in next time!

Yelp
3.5 stars I enjoy their pho. I usually get the chicken pho and my partner gets a beef pho and they are both delicious! The pho comes out piping out, so be careful not to burn your tongue. The first time I came here was on a weekend and it was quite busy. The restaurant is decently sized but not large, so we had to wait ~20minutes. 2/3 times I've been here, I had no issues with the wait or the pho. The 3rd time: I ate at the restaurant, took the rest of it to go, found a super tiny bug in it. I didn't see it at all in the restaurant, so I think it's probably from the sprouts I threw in the to-go container last minute. But hey I guess if bugs didn't like it, I wouldn't want it either. I appreciated that the server clarified any questions I had. They told me that the green Thai tea is essentially Thai tea with matcha, so I opted for the regular Thai tea instead. It was pretty sweet, I personally wouldn't get it again but I could see someone with a sweet tooth enjoying it. Overall, I'd come back for their pho.

Yelp
A friend of mine and I wanted some pho before we headed out on our drive home and found this place had decent reviews and gave it a shot. I went with my usual order which is vermicelli with chicken and they gave us such large portions and it was delicious. It's always nice when you get exactly what you are expecting as far as the taste. The service was quick and easy and we had no issues.

Yelp
The pho is here is really solid. Would definitely come back and try other things. Came with my nephew and he said he'd been there before some years ago and remembered it was good. He got the combination bun and said it was good. We also got the chicken wings and they are honestly, amazing. This restaurant could have opened up just a chicken wing place and they would have been very successful. We were really amazed and how good the wings are. So whatever you order, definitely order the wings!

Yelp
Pretty clean store and quick service Food is lacking in flavors Pork in vermicelli lack flavoring and is not grilled as "dark" as it's supposed to be Price is standard, it's not bad but not the best place

Yelp
Decided to try this place after viewing their menu online. The filet mignon looked great, and we weren't disappointed. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. My husband ordered a noodle dish that was crispy and delicious. We were both surprised with the taste and the portions. When we arrived, we were seated immediately and our waiter, Andrew was very attentive and made sure we were taken well care of. It's a nice size restaurant with very comfortable seats, and very clean. We will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
First time trying Pho here! The food was very good. I have the veggie pho bowl and veggie egg rolls, my partner had the brisket pho. Both so delicious! The service is friendly but a little slow to start. The decor is cute! Hats on the ceiling with different pictures on them. The only thing, we weren't aware you go to front and pay so we waited quite a long time thinking a check was coming. Other than that it was great!

Yelp
I went to Pho Luc Lac midweek about 45 minutes before closing. Service was friendly and fast. I have had their Bahn Mi before, but I had it to go. Next time I go, I will get the Beef Short Rib Bahn Mi again. Cuz it is really good. And I would get it with a side of Pho Broth to dip in. The Short Rib has so much flavor. I would say this is prolly the best Bahn Mi I have had in San Jose. Their Pate-Mayonaisse is a nice touch!

Yelp
We love this place for vegetable pho. Service is quick and ambiance is very traditional. This is our go to pho location in San Jose.

Yelp
Stopped by to take out fried spring rolls and an order of garlic chicken wings for a snack for a concert. The chicken wings were excellent. Garlicky and flavorful; perfect. The fried spring rolls were delicious, crispy and tasty. Appreciate that everything made to order and arrived piping hot!! While waiting I saw there are set up for the owners ancestors; I love that there were two cafe su da along side the traditional items. Staff is friendly and looks to be a popular stop for many. Recommend!!

Yelp
This place absolutely hit the spot. Love their pho and their spring rolls. I wish I had their fresh noodles but they ran out! The regular noodles were still super good and this place definitely deserves 5 stars.
