Ngon Ngon Review - Queen Village - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"There are a few pho places in the city that everyone flocks to, but Ngon Ngon queitly keeps to itself in Queen Village. Their menu is pretty standard, with the requisite vermicelli noodles, rice bowls, and beef/chicken pho, but Ngon Ngon’s vegetarian pho is the best we’ve found in the city. It comes with tofu and mixed vegetables and is a solid lunch or dinner option for when you want something light and healthy, but still warm." - Sydney McElwee

Update: went back for the Chicken Pho. Hold the hoisin to truly enjoy the broth and make sure you try it with the lime leaf. Next level! have been eating Pho my entire life and this was so good- different and makes me not want to eat other Chicken Pho. I have had a lot of Vietnamese food in my life and I had dishes here I have NEVER had before, and they were SO GOOD! I read some of the reviews on this place and they got it wrong. This is authentic Vietnamese cuisine. These items off of their House Special menu will not disappoint. The spring rolls had a special wrapper that were super crispy- seriously nothing I have ever had. The vegetables were very fresh. It’s a must try. I will be back to try the Pho! Bonus, it’s BYOB and very clean and inviting.

Stopped by because we were in the area, such a great atmosphere, very relaxing and calm. The service was amazing, they’re so friendly and kind here. We order the coconut juice and passion fruit tea, both very good. The coconut juice was so refreshing I would definitely recommend. I would also recommend the wings to start very crispy and full of flavor. For our entrée we ordered the shrimp in curry sauce and shrimp fried rice 10/10. Our total for everything came to about $60. Would recommend and will be back! :)

Google
Absolutely lovely experience! The owners were very engaging and the food was amazing! DO NOT MISS the Bahn Xeo and the Hanoi Rolls! Bahn Xeo was super crispy and was with fresh herbs and lettuce to make your wrap. The Hanoi Rolls, a Pho Ngon special only available here, also came with lettuce, fresh herbs and an herbal chili dipping sauce that I am still thinking about. Can't wait to go back!

Google
This restaurant is focused on Vietnam’s northern food, Hai Noi is the capital. Their Pho is Ha Noi style, it tastes different than the usual pho in Vietnamese restaurants, but it tastes good. Bun bo hue also taste different than other restaurants, personally, I think their soup does not have the richness taste. They have a lot of Ha Noi specialties that you would like see in other Vietnamese restaurants. I would recommend trying this restaurant.

Google
Regular reviewer, specializing in Phó, in particular. I always get Phó Tai, beef rare on side, and an order of summer rolls. Summer Rolls came out FAST! They were fresh, clean tasting, tasty shrimp 🍤 😋 and veggies! Both got same Phó, I like hoisin and a lil sriracha, but always taste the broth first. Everything was clean and fresh, however, we both agreed the broth tasted... weak. 😌 Perhaps it was just a veggie broth and you need to specify beef bone broth?? 🤔 Anyway, over all was pretty good food, and great service. 👍 One complaint, trivial(?) there was lipstick stained on my water glass so I didnt drink from it! As others have stated, a tad pricey, beware of add-ons adding up quickly, but I know everything is going up in cost, so I get it. Would recommend giving a try, they have a nice variety of dishes and many veg options! Nice dessert list, tho I was too full to try, and nice size portions all around; we could have split the phó! 😆

Google
Honai roll is impressive. Thin crispy crust and the vinegar dip balanced the filler. Highly recommended and it is not common a restaurant has this menu. Deluxe pho is fine, probably will try rice dish next time.

Stopped by this little gem after a meeting at my wedding venue and everything was great about this place from the friendly welcome to lovely service. The sliced beef pho was absolutely amazing, the meat was cooked to perfection, broth delicious perfect temperature. They put the veggies on the side so you can add to your liking which I love that personally. Also the fried chicken wings were excellent the sauce was very flavorful. Definitely recommend giving this place a try if you’re a fan of pho!

Yelp
This place has been opened for about a year and I recently got take-out a few times. Their Grilled Pork Banh-mi is really good and packed with flavor. The shaking beef I got was a bit chewy and not the best for take-out. Will give it another try while dining in next time. Looking forward to trying their Pho and other delicious items. Staff is very friendly and accommodating in this small family owned business that we love to support.

Yelp
Interior was very neat and nicely decorated. Decent amount of seating. Service was great. My boyfriend mentioned they usually give you complimentary tea (?). We came right as they opened so they didn't make the tea yet. I got the pho deluxe. Overall okay, I was satisfied. The broth is too light for me but maybe that's just my personal preference. Interested in coming back and trying rest of the menu!

Yelp
I got the lunch special pho. You get to choose any regular pho and it comes with choice of Tom yum or wonton soup and egg roll or summer roll and 2 dumplings. Thai iced tea was $2. I got the Tom yum soup which I actually thought was the best thing of the meal. It had a really good flavor that I feel like most Thai restaurants lack. The summer roll was fine but missing the peanut sauce. It only had the other sauce that you use for fried dumplings. The dumplings were okay. I got the beef ball pho. I know a lot of places generally don't give many beef balls but this bowl was so sad looking. I think it might have been 2 beef balls cut in half for 4 pieces. The soup flavor was a little off, tasted a little too sweet for me and didn't have the depth that I was looking for. I'll give them another chance and try of the rice dishes next time.

Yelp
I wanted to get some groceries at the nearby Asian grocery store, so decided to give Pho Ngon a try. Pho Ngon is beautifully decorated. The interior decorations are tastefully designed and it's very clean. It looks better than most Vietnamese places I've been to. Food is reasonably priced and tastes good. Service is friendly and efficient. Overall, I'm very satisfied with our lunch today. If there's anything that could have been better, I do wish they had a soda machine. I also find the canned soda price interesting: $2.06 per can. Also, if you pay by card, they automatically add 3% on your bill, which is a bit petty for a business.

Yelp
Excellent option for classic Vietnamese in East Norriton with very solid executions and generous portions. The pho is the best in the area - light and flavorful without an overabundance of salt or MSG - and the grilled pork chop is tender and flavorful. They use jasmine vs broken rice, but the overall dish is very solid. We also tried the pad thai, which was surprisingly good with plenty of chicken and tender, flavorful noodles topped with egg. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu and yes, they do have bun bo hue as a special. Next time you are craving Vietnamese and want to save yourself the 2.5 hours roundtrip to South Philly, just drop by here. It will hit the spot!

Yelp
I have been going to Pho Ngon for a while now with my family. Every single time, the service is friendly and fast. The food is also amazing with plenty of vegetarian options. My personal favorites include the tofu pad thai and Thai tea. The banh mi is very fresh as well! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and is perfect for a family dinner as there is plenty of space. I recommend everyone to come here next time they want fresh Vietnamese food!

Yelp
There's not a lot of Vietnamese restaurants around, so this place is definitely convenient. I ordered Pho Bo vien. The broth is decent but skimpy with meatballs. There was a total of 2 meatballs that were cut in half. $14 for a bowl of pho with 2 meatballs is pricey.

Yelp
Took my kids here tonight , we sat and watched them service the white customer before us we where not even offered water , and we where sat in the back ... when there was seating front ... when I left they knew why but didn't care .... No wonder I see no black people in there ...

Yelp
The broth was flavorful and it doesn't taste greasy at all. I also had the thai tea and the sweetness is to my liking. The beef meat is very tender. The place is a little small and cramped but it's cosy and warm. Service is minus a star because we ordered the deluxe and our pho only had beef. We did tell the staff, and they charge us for the beef pho only. They also didn't have banh mi. They just recently open and it was very busy Saturday night. Food is 5 out of 5, service is 4 out of 5 because of the order mixed up. The owners and staff are friendly and very courteous. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Looking for something to warm me up on this cold day I decided to check out the new pho in town! The place is small but nice. Nothing to fancy but simple. The people are nice as well. I ordered the lunch special. And for 15 bucks it comes with plenty of food. A summer roll, 3 fried dumplings, a soup of choice and the main meal. I got steak pho. Pretty good! The noodle stuck together for a bit. Took a little time to separate them but not hard. But overall I come back.

Yelp
This restaurant is completely awesome. The service was super friendly and the food was off scale delicious. Freshly made, superbly presented. Go now, go often! Six Stars

Yelp
Very nice and clean place, service was great and the food was excellent. We had Pho (I always order the beef on the side as I like it rare and not over cooked) and chicken stir fry. Will definitely go back

Yelp
So happy to have a Vietnamese restaurant to open up in East Norriton. The restaurant was nice and clean and the food was delicious! The broth was definitely amazing, very friendly servers. Will definitely be back and will recommend this place to family and friends.

Yelp
Outstanding food, service and ambiance. I had the grilled sliced pork and rice. My wife had the steak pho. Both were outstanding. I will be back frequently for both dishes. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place is amazing, the food is so fresh, it's really good value too (especially if you get the lunch special, all this food cost only $15!!!) The service is really great too

Yelp
We stopped by after KOP mall, looks like a new place, nice interior decor good for family or friends gathering. We ordered summer roll, pho and bun, everything met expectations, soup was good, quality food and pretty quick with service.

Yelp
It's nice to see another Vietnamese restaurant opening near by. We ordered the grilled pork chop, pho deluxe and spring rolls. Pho was good. It didn't have that strong spice flavor which I like. However toppings were lacking for a $18 bowl of pho. Pork chop with rice was good. It was tender and tasty. Spring rolls were good. It's on the sweeter side. It was $7.95 for three spring rolls, which is a bit expensive for three. Was expecting at least 4 spring rolls. Appetizer was also not served with plates so it's a bit awkward sharing without making a mess on the table.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese food! I had takeout chicken & vegetable stir fry with vermicelli noodles in garlic sauce. I also had fresh shrimp spring rolls!

Yelp
Good local pho shop. Clear tasty broth. One price and its a large bowl. Might be better than the others in the area, but would to do taste taste comparison.

Yelp
I do NOT understand all the good reviews here! I went today for the 1st time and ordered the lunch special lemongrass chicken. I asked the waitress to make it VERY MILD, as I do not like spice. It came out so hot I took one bite and told her I could not eat it, it was SOOOO spicy! She RUDELY told me "We add no spice." They MUST have - it was SUPER hot and spicy! I cook with lemongrass often - it is NOT spicy. Then she REFUSED to take it off my bill!! They charge people for food that wasn't prepared properly then REFUSE to take it off the bill?? So...I told her fine - two can play that game - and to cancel my to-go order which was the much larger order. ONLY when I threatened to do that, did she take the UN-eaten food off my bill! She did NOT care that I didn't like the food at all! She was SUPER rude and not the least bit polite! I will NOT ever be back!

Kat D.

Yelp
The food was great! My father and I went in for lunch, ordered the appetizer sampler, Tom yum soup and my dad had some type of squid stir fry dish. Tom yum soup was a bit sweet but had a nice spice to it , and came in a large portion. The squid was very tasty also. the decor was cute and the restaurant was clean. The Waitress seemed a little inexperienced but was super friendly.

Yelp
I'm giving this five star for food, service and ambiance. We were recently introduced to this location a few months back and it is now our go-to place for Asian food. Me personally I'm a very picky eater and honestly not into Asian food Pho Ngon has changed my mind about that. My husband is a very adventurous eater and loves all kinds of Asian food specifically Thai but this place is now one of his all-time favorites as well. My go to dish is called the Salted Pepper it is an amazing dish with fresh vegetables cooked perfectly served with white rice and I always get mine with chicken it is very lightly breaded I can't even begin to explain how delicious it is. What is fabulous about it is that each bite is tasty, fresh, tender and even hot, not spicy I mean temperature hot. I like flavor in my foods I don't like heat and this dish covers all of that. They offer excellent appetizers another favorite of ours is the summer rolls light delicious you can't go wrong. I am aware they have a very nice lunch special although they are not in our neighborhood we literally travel over 10 miles to get to this location and it is worth the trip so we always make it one of our dinner locales when we are in the mood for Asian food. So if you're looking for that new place you have to make Pho Ngon one of your go to places.

Yelp
I have had Pho all over the world and I was impressed with the brisket broth from Pho Ngon. My takeout food was very fresh and packaged nicely. The customer service was spot on and the food is reasonably priced. Most Pho restaurants will over salt Pho broths due to not making them from scratch. Pho Ngon's is the real deal the proof is in the taste, new local favorite for me.

Dianna S.

Yelp
I got the shrimp pho. The broth was not very rich or flavorful, but they did put a nice amount of shrimp, veggies and noodles in the bowl. Maybe the beef broth has more body and richness? I'll have to try it next visit.

Frank H.

Yelp
Pho broth is the best!! No fat on the meat. Come here frequently and have tried almost everything on the menu. All are excellent. Thier lunch special is quite a bargain. Staff is very friendly. 5 out of 5
