The Most Anticipated Houston Restaurant Openings, Winter 2025 | Eater Houston

"A fast-casual build-your-own pho concept from Kiet and Julie Duong (of Crawfish Cafe) will expand with a Galleria location (February) and a Pearland location (March). The interactive pho experience lets diners customize Vietnamese soups with pho broth made fresh daily and proteins such as oxtail, beef rib, brisket, bone marrow, and Vietnamese ham; vegan broth options use tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and boy choy, and there are miniature pho bowls for kids featuring chicken or meatballs. Other offerings include lemongrass shrimp sate, Bo Koho (a 12-hour braised brisket and tendon stew), egg rolls, and the Pho Dip — the owners’ take on a French dip featuring fatty brisket, bone marrow buttes spread, basil, cilantro, and onion on a baked baguette with spicy aioli and hoisin, served with a side of beef broth for dipping. Each location will offer indoor seating plus carry-out, delivery, and catering." - Brittany Britto Garley

Came in and checked out one of the newest restaurants in Pearland. Prime pho was very nice inside and the waiters were very friendly. I really did enjoy my time here but was a bit disappointed in the pho as the broth didn't really have any flavor. The spicy beef wasn't spicy as well but was more flavorful than the regular pho broth. Overall I will come back and try the banh sandwich next time as they look very impressive and delicious.

Google
great local atmosphere. Good service, and a decent amount of protein in the pho. The metal bowls look nice but doesn’t retain heat as well as ceramic bowls. Not an issue during summer, but might be in the winter. Came for lunch for 2 and service was decent. The only thing I would improve is maybe more veggies for the pho

Google
We tried this new trending Pho Place in Pearland, Texas last 8/13 and I would say that the taste is not as authentic as the other Pho places we’ve been to. I would rate it as an OK Pho Place when it comes to flavor but wins over their big servings.

Went to try with my family on Saturday, never again. This brings the vietnamese culture to shame. Pho Bo with fatty brisket & meatball - noodles were over cooked to the point it broke into smaller strands and tasted very gooey; only got 4 PIECES (1/3 cut meatball each pc) and about 6 slices of fatty brisket in a bowl full of noodles. .... very disappointed nonetheless. Broken rice, grilled meat, egg cake - was cold and wasnt even lukewarm or heated, fish sauce was water down, rice was cooked with too much water to boardline mush, pickled carrots barely tasted pickled- you can call it sweeten veggies at that state; the soup broth was typical chicken bullion flavor. Sad to say, the best thing we enjoyed was the fancy baby cube ice in the drinks. Maybe that day was just a bad day, but I still wouldn't recommend it to my friends and family, especially my asian friends. I had high hopes. Now I'm so disappointed that my future hope the instant pho from Costco.

Google
The Pho Dac Biet was really tasty. The meat and vegetables were really fresh and cooked perfectly. The Vietnamese eggrolls were really tasty and fresh as well. If you’re looking for fast service and tasty food, this is a good place to visit.

Pho Prime is new to the area and was the next stop on our list to try as a local pho spot. While the pho had a great flavor (Day 1) and the restaurant is well kept. There were a few flaws to take note. (Day 2 - June 2nd) Was a complete miss!!! We couldn't stomach the Pho past 2 bites! There was so much salt that it was impossible to eat. (Day 2) We informed our server who shrugged it off and said ,"Maybe it will be better tomorrow." Nothing was done to correct it, and I'm sure they are still serving this to customers today. Needless to say we left! Service can be a bit slow, we were unable to get refills, our check, or anything else during our visit. Once our order was placed and food delivered, service was non existent. Which was sad when it wasn't busy. Prices are on the higher side to other competitors in the area. I do NOT recommend ordering the spring rolls. These are not made fresh to order, these are premade and held in a refrigerator waiting to be served. Day 1 - I found the bowl to have a great consistency between meat and noodles. It was the perfect size to me. The broth was delicious, definitely different to others I've tried. This could be a hit or miss for people in the area depending on the day. But should you have a BAD experience, FYI. Management doesn't care!!! Let me know: How was your visit? We won't be back.

Google
We are very happy to have this restaurant opening in Pearland and we wish them the best. The atmosphere 5 stars, the service 5 stars. My only feedback is for the pho itself. The amount of noodle was highly disproportionate for the size of the bowl. High ball of noddles and almost no broth. We usually eat pho when we crave hot soup plus all the goods in pho. There was no soup, just noodles, the temperature of the broth was warm not hot and because of this the raw beef didn’t cook, plus the starch of all those noddles removed the little taste of pho spice from the broth. My feedback get different bowls, less noodles and more broth. All the best.

Pho Prime 9240 Broadway St Ste 115, Pearland, TX 77584 Their Bun Bo Hue and Pho dip sandwich, just like the restaurant's name suggests, use Prime protein. Both broths were unbelievably light yet packed with flavor ; the best I've ever had! Seriously, they're in my top 5 for Bun Bo Hue and Pho in my books! #tonylameats #pearlandtx #phoprime #pho #búnbòhuế #foodadventure #foodielife

Yelp
This was such a pleasant surprise! My friend chose this as a halfway point for us to meet and I am so glad we came! They have unique Vietnamese dishes not a lot of places have like a pho dip sandwich which I absolutely loved. So flavorful and juicy. To be honest I did not love the pho meat that my husband got and the broth but I could still eat it just wouldn't get it myself. The egg rolls my friend got were so fresh and hot no complaints there. I would recommend their lime soda lemonade really refreshing. Our friends enjoyed their dishes- they got a combo pho and a bun bo hue. Our waitress Nina was super sweet and personable, really added to our experience. 10/10 The inside is really pretty too. I need to make a trip to Pearland more often!

Yelp
Nice to have another pho spot nearby, and this one is in the bustling strip containing lots of Pearland newcomers. We stopped by around 3 so it was fairly quiet, but wasn't long before we were seated. Seemed also we came in the middle of a shift change but wasn't really communicated to us. We got the large combo pho and egg rolls, all of which were very tasty. And unlike some other spots, the large size was indeed a larger portion rather just a larger bowl. I couldn't get through it and it came piled with noodles and a heavy portion of meat. Broth is flavorful and it tasted just fine. I do like the service for the most part, at least until it was time to check out. That took a while for some reason. And for some reason we had to ask specifically for the veggies that come with the pho. Like multiple times. They seem a bit stingy with it for some reason. For example they only gave a single slice of lime between the 2 bowls. The price point is high and although portions are good, I still felt like it wasn't proportional to cost. And the music varied heavily both from volume and the type of music played, to the point where it wasn't just in the background and a little annoying. This is a good spot, with just a couple things to work on and maybe with some promotions to help offset the higher prices, I would return.

Yelp
New place in Pearland so I had high hopes for this Pho location. 4/5 Pork Bahn Mi: The pork was delicious so was the other toppings that it came with. Very savory but it felt like it needed more spark on the jalapeños. I will be coming back to try the Pho.

Yelp
The broth and fresh noodles were good, but considering the portion size and price, it didn't feel worth it overall.

Yelp
Tasty food and relaxed environment with friendly staff! The pho was slightly too salty for me the day we went. But the vermicelli bowl with beef was very tasty! Wish they had more options in the kids menu, only option is pho with chicken or meatballs. Will definitely visit again

Yelp
I went to Pho Prime and ordered the Pho Dac Biet. The broth was fairly flavorful and really took in the flavors of the meat, though it was a bit salty for my liking. The noodles texture wasn't as soft as I wanted it to be. The meats were the highlight of my meal. The fatty brisket was amazing and definitely my favorite part of the dish. I really like how they load up on meats here, though the meatballs were a bit tough. The portions here a bigger than most pho places so you definitely get what you are paying for. The service was a bit lacking though. A man who I assume is the manager was walking around and checking in on all the customers which I really appreciate. It's obvious he cares about improving the place, as he asked for how we enjoyed our meal so far and what we would like differently. The problem was with the workers, who were slow on taking our orders and forgot to bring out beansprouts, small plates, and napkins. The vibe of the restaurant was nice. It's a very modern take on pho and I especially like the look of the bowls and utensils. Overall, I left satisfied and will probably return in the future to see how they improve, since the management appears to really value making the place better. 7/10!

Yelp
This is a nice little place for pho. My pho came out really fast and was very delicious. My server was Jada and she was quick to get my drink and food order and she stayed on top of getting me refills!

Yelp
Food was great! I met my family there for lunch. The ambience of the restaurant itself had a cool vibe to it as well. Had the service been better, I would've given it at least four stars.

Yelp
Awesome experience great Pho and friendly staff... I would definitely recommend

Yelp
I came from their BOGO promotion on instagram and got my go to large Pho Tai Nam (eye round and brisket) which is normally $16. The soup was flavorful (maybe more than I prefer for pho tbh) and the eye round was perfectly tender. Brisket was pretty good, not the best I've had. They were very generous with the meat portions but surprisingly skimpy with the veggies like bean sprouts. I'm not an avid pho lover but this place has pretty good portions for the price! Staff were very nice and accommodating as well. (I saw reviews saying pho took awhile to prepare so I actually called and asked them to prepare the dine-in bowls ahead of time which they actually did!)

Yelp
Came first time on Saturday lunch. Parking spot was not a problem. Food was good. I had rice pork(ordered extra pork), fresh spring rolls (love there is a hint of mint leaves ) and meatball pho. My husband and I enjoyed the food. My pho broth tasted good and well seasoned. The rice pork was delicious as well! The server, Trinity, was very attentive and helpful! The place had a good atmosphere - love the music and wasn't too loud. Will definitely come back and dine in again!

Yelp
We had dinner here on mother's day we got the pho,bun bo hue ,and bo kho. I got the pho the broth was much sweeter than what i was expecting not a bad thing but was just something i wasn't used to, they only had 1 size and this could have been compared to at least a Large size bowl at other pho restaurants. The Bo Kho was very lukewarm when i tried it it was almost room temperature and lacked seasoning very disappointing. The bun bo hue was good had all the spices but was also lukewarm. We got the egg rolls as an appetizer and it was such a let down it did not come with any sauce like fish sauce or sweet chili . The egg rolls were very bland it only has pork and beef as protein and some carrots i believe it was very plain . I would recommend for them to add different sizes. And to have boiling hot broth so when it comes out it is nice and warm. Service was good atmosphere is nice.

Yelp
Phở Prime has hit the prime time in Pearland! I went there during the soft opening and the restaurant was buzzing with excitement. I ordered a few dishes to get an idea of what the restaurant has to offer. The Chả giò were crisp and flavorful. The bò kho was packed with meat, carrots and potatoes. The broth was really good. I didn't taste as much lemongrass as I'm used to but it was still good. I had a blast dipping my bánh mì into the broth. The Phở Dip was very tasty! I have never had that before. The bánh mì by itself was excellent. The meat and the sauce, along with the crispy bread tasted great. Combined with the dip, it was on another level! I would dip into it any day. The service was good and the atmosphere felt relaxed. The only criticism I could see was that initially I ordered bún bò Huế but they were out of the noôdles, so I ordered bò kho instead. They also didn't bring condiments (cilantro, Thai basil, lime and bean sprouts) until I asked. Not sure if the server forgot or if you have to ask for it. No big deal, especially since it was the soft opening. I also tasted the Phở Tai but did not eat a whole bowl. It tasted really good so I'll be back to try it. Come to check Phở Prime out if you are near the Pearland or any of the other locations!

Yelp
Pho Prime opened two days ago and is a sister concept to crawfish cafe (my all time favorite restaurant) but pho, noodle bowls, spring rolls, etc. And it was so good the first day that I went back again yesterday! I've tried the following: Brisket and shrimp spring rolls - this was a good portion and pricey for two spring rolls but worth it because they use very high quality meat and very fresh greens. Banh Mi Pho Dip: wow, the flavors are incredible. It really reminds me of the strength of home cooking that my mom makes. It was like the sandwich and pho broth were made for each other. Honey lemongrass bun bowl: the nuoc mam is on point! I like that it isn't watered down. I got a side of The honey vinaigrette but definitely get the fish sauce. It's so cool that all bun bowls come with a big side of chicken broth! I loved it! Banh mi bo kho: I love that it comes with tendon! I haven't seen that anywhere else. Bun bo hue (spicy beef soup): the flavor is reminiscent of sitting at home on a Sunday as a kid in the 90s after church aka spicy and full of flavor! I was so surprised that they made it spicy (pre-addition of the lemongrass sate). The extra sate gave me a runny nose which is how I love the BBH! Pho Meatball (kids edition): they have a generous amount of noodles and all of the fixings. The meatballs were delicious (I stole a bite of my 2 year old daughter's pho). She thoroughly enjoyed the meatballs and drank a bunch of broth, super flavorful! It is pricey but when you get very high quality ingredients with incredible flavor, to me, it's worth it! The staff is also super kind and friendly. I'll definitely be back again and again! I ate my food too fast the last two days so I'll update later with photos next time I eat here!

Yelp
Pho is really good , but waiting time for food is a little bit long The restaurant is clean , employees are friendly / helpful

Margaret D.

Yelp
We tried Pho Prime for the first time. Placed an order to go. The food was good. The fried egg rolls were NOT greasy and the fish sauce was tasty. The pork vermicelli was very good, the portion was plentiful. The bread on the sandwich was DELICIOUS! Overall we were pleased. The hostess was very helpful with suggestions and polite. We will be back

Nga T.

Yelp
$41 for a bowl of scraps--what a disappointment! My husband ordered the Founders Bowl with extra broth to-go, and we were excited to try it--but ended up incredibly let down. We wouldn't mind paying $41 if the quality matched the price, but it absolutely didn't. The oxtail had barely any meat--just a tiny piece hanging on. The short rib was ridiculously small, and the rest of the meat looked like leftover scraps no one else wanted. To make things worse, the "extra broth" he paid for wasn't even filled up all the way. No basil, lime, or bean sprouts were included--basic essentials for pho. For a place called Pho Prime, this was far from "prime" quality. This bowl wasn't even worth $5. We were genuinely excited to try this spot, but what a letdown. If you can't deliver what you advertise, don't hype it up. We won't be coming back.
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
Surprised by the low reviews as I was blown away by the experience. Service was a bit slow but very attentive. The food was so good, albeit a little pricey as we did order the two most expensive pho on the menu. Will be back and often.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool Pho spot in Pearland. Staff (Cody and Codiy) was very nice and welcoming. We had the need & Shrimp egg rolls (great!), Chicken Pho #13 (great broth, chicken a little overcooked), and the Pork Bahn Mi (pork excellent, cucumbers had an odd taste). Price point was $35-40 with tip. Food came out very fast which was appreciated. I'd def try this place again when I'm in the mood for Pho.

Angela J.

Yelp
Food, Service and Ambiance... Great Staff.... I would recommend to family and friends . Nice Energy
google avatar

Cheyenne D.

Yelp
We enjoyed it. The broth could use a little more kick/ seasoning but overall good! I love the way they package the to go orders.
google avatar

Benedict B.

Yelp
Arrived at noon and it wasn't busy at all. I had the pho dac biet and pork bahn mi. The pho had clean tasting broth and bouncy and flavor packed meatballs. The bahn mi was also good but I wished it had had more meat. The staff were attentive and the place had a very modern look. I didn't feel rushed placing my order.
google avatar

Joshua L.

Yelp
Pho prime was really good, was a bit sad they did away with ordering at the counter. Our server had to wait 9 other tables on 3/17 for dinner time by himself while we were there. Although he took it like a champ this is way too overwhelming for one person.
google avatar

Dawn V.

Yelp
I rarely eat pho outside the house. But on this cold day in Pho soup just sounded really good in this place just opened up. The broth was really good tasty. I took a sip without adding any hoisin, lime or Sriracha and was very flavorful. The staff here are great. Was greedy immediately and when I asked for extra basil, etc. they were quick to accommodate. Will definitely have to come here next time when I'm away from home.
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
Had my first meal at Prime Pho today in Pearland and I'll say I wasn't disappointed! My job requires to me to travel the greater Houston area and I usually stop in at a pho restaurant once a week. Some times these places are hit and miss and of course I have the places that I really and frequent a lot. I will definitely be adding this my list. Atmosphere and staff were excellent with quick service. But the best part was the pho! It had just enough of a different taste to make it unique but didn't stay from the traditional taste to I love. The noodles and protein were also excellent. All in all I was very satisfied and will for sure be back!
google avatar

Andie B.

Yelp
I've been here 3 times to get the beef stew. This last time beef stew had no flavor and more fat on the than I would like. They don't give you much beef or veggies in the soup for $15. Also ordered the egg rolls and Vietnamese coffee. It was just ok. Staff is always friendly. Service is 7.5/10. I wish the stew had same flavor consistency as last time the last couple of times.

Renee J.

Yelp
I have been watching on tik tok on this restaurant Pho Prime and today I went and tried the Pho Duo Oxtail and let me tell you I fell in love with that soup and the oxtails melts in your mouth. It was seasoned on point. The service was also, Jalen and Kristen did an awesome job on making sure I got what I needed and some pointers on how to dress up my soup. The place was clean soothing and fresh. I recommend everyone to try here asap!
google avatar

Karen J.

Yelp
Ordered chicken pho today as a take out and it was so salty that I could not eat it! Called to let them know response, Sorry!

Yelp
I really really really really wanted to like this place being that we do not have any outstanding authentic southern style pho places in Pearland. Ong Jas is as good as it gets. Back to pho prime... Let's get into it... We came at 6:30pm and they already ran out of classics such as bun bo hue... fine, guess we will try the pho since it's a pho place after all. We ordered 3 bowls of pho and 2 banh mis. I ordered Tai and Gau (filet and fatty brisket) this is important for later. We finished our order and paid around 6:45pm. Went to get a drink, ice machine was out of ice, I went back to the register to inform them and asked if they can refill the ice. Okay, they say. Food arrived after roughly 30 minutes. Waiting over 30 minutes for 3 bowls of pho and 2 Banh Mi is diabolical. When it came, broth was lukewarm at best, after veggies added it became downright room temperature. Remember i ordered and paid for Tai and Gau, well, they only gave a few thin slices of Tai and no Gau to be seen. Banh mi was $9.50 and breaking apart, complete rip off. Oh, btw, that ice was refilled an hour later when I gave up on the place and basically left half my pho and left utterly disappointed. Hopefully just newly opening jitters and kinks to be worked on but I was Not at all impressed and will not be coming back unless something drastic changes.

Emma M.

Yelp
This is my first time been here, I ordered Pho Dac Biet (Combination Pho) with the fresh noodle. The pho broth is delicious, nice service, great atmosphere. I would say they have the best pho in Pearland !!!
google avatar

Kimberely T.

Yelp
We were so excited to have another Pho option close by but were immediately let down. They only offer 1 size- a tell tale of unauthentic pho places. Food took over 30 minutes to arrive, meat was scarce and not tender, and the broth was lukewarm to the point that the onions and herbs added to it were still crunchy throughout the meal.

Eric H.

Yelp
service not very good ordered an ice tea tea tasted sour like it was left out for a couple of days ordered a chicken vermicelli was not cooked right no go on this place

Tony H N.

Yelp
Good food good vibes they redo the layout looks nice as well! Only Vietnamese place that serves Bo Kho.

AJ G.

Yelp
First time here, and the food was wonderful! The staff was very helpful when needing advice on food recommendations. I had the pho dip and it was delicious! I will definitely be coming back.

TrustMeOnThis N.

Yelp
Don't let the bad reviews fool you. Some folks complain over late food arriving 5 minutes late because of a packed place or pho not matching their taste, they clearly don't know traditional cooking. Service and atmosphere were excellent for us. Not sure which Pho place they ate at. Check their review history, it's all complaints. Be thankful there's solid pho in Pearland. Ong Jas is overpriced, low on protein, and heavy on noodles.
google avatar

damon c.

Yelp
Ordered a pho dac biet and the broth was really good. Generous portion of noodles and cooked just the way I like it. Will likely return and try some of their other offerings.

Chau L.

Yelp
The food is okay, but the service is very slow even for a basic dish like pho. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Redfish J.

Yelp
Finally a really good pho restaurant in Pearland Pho and BBH was very good ! Service was excellent, definitely coming here more often

Leo P.

Yelp
Good morning. I went yesterday and to pick up and quick meal before work. I ordered a sandwich I forgot what the name of it was it beef on it with a lot if fat attached to it. Anywho the sandwich was good, however I couldn't finish it and had to throw it away due to the beef being so fatty. The hostess was very nice as always when I come in. I would have gotten a refund but o would have been late to work. Other than that the place is nice and chill.

RJ I.

Yelp
Pho is really good. The fresh noodles is a great touch and worth getting. Really welcoming interior and family friendly.

Trine O.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Very flavorful food and my toddler loved it as well! The server was very nice and helpful! We will definitely be back!

David H.

Yelp
Nice place but probably one of the worse phos I've ever had. From the first sip I was shocked by how sweet it was. I asked and you can't even reduce the sweetness. I suspect the broth is frozen because you can see them cook the pho in a small pot per person

Vu L.

Yelp
Probably on par with mediocre food in pearland. The taste broth and quality of meats in their pho is average at best.

Dũng V.

Yelp
We came during their soft opening days, service is good but it's pricey compared to the others Pho in the area. The portion is quite small, the broth is sweet. I will come back one more time after their grand opening.

Cindy M.

Yelp
Delicious food and service! Nicely decorated too! The food tasted like it had quality ingredients. The people were all friendly and willing to please.

Victoria R.

Yelp
I will start by saying we love Pho. We have been to many different pho restaurants in the Houston are and in Pearland and we were not impressed nor will we return. Service was fine. We walked in just before noon, one customer seated, we were told "seat yourself". Great! No problem. The menu is light so we picked our options quickly- shrimp (and brisket to our dismay) spring rolls (which arrived with a very watered down dipping sauce) , pho dip (banh mi with a pho broth (very oily), and a pork vermicelli bowl - which arrives with a (very salty) chicken broth. The ONLY thing I enjoyed was the vinaigrette option over the fish sauce for the vermicelli bowl. We did not finish our spring rolls due to the extremely fatty brisket which didn't complement the shrimp which when dipped into the watery sauce tasted absolutely awful. The texture coupled with the thin sauce was unsatisfying and actually made me lose my appetite. My husband enjoyed the taste of the banh mi which didn't need to be dipped in the oily pho broth, it fell short of the hype. My vermicelli bowl had cold vermicelli noodles which tasted chewy, not cooked or soft and didn't absorb the vinaigrette at all. The pork was chewy and fatty and didn't complement the dish whatsoever. When the server asked how we enjoyed the meal we said it was okay and she said "great, here's your bill". We will stick to Yummy pho boné or Pho Saigon where the service and flavors are more welcoming and pleasant. I do not recommend this establishment at all.
