Pho Rex – The Bowl That Felt Like Coming Home Some places feed you.Pho Rex heals you. I came in after work with my daughter — tired, hungry, and needing the kind of comfort that feels like when you scraped your knee as a kid and your mama handed you a warm bowl of soup. It was our first time here, just an hour before closing, and not once did they rush us. They let us take our time, explained the menu with patience, and helped us choose dishes we’d actually love. I ordered the Beef & Shrimp Udon Noodle Soup, and my daughter got the Chicken Pho. I paired mine with a hot jasmine tea, and we shared an order of their Cream Cheese Crispy Wontons — the kind that are crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and impossible to stop eating. The woman working that night was the kind of soul you don’t forget. She kept complimenting my motherhood, celebrating the bond between me and my daughter, and making us feel genuinely seen. Her kindness was the unexpected highlight of the night. Then the food arrived. A giant bowl of soup, steaming and fragrant, every bite bursting with flavor. If you’ve been here before and haven’t gone back, I need answers, because our first experience was heaven. It was so good we came back a second time — and doubled our order.Another round of soup, a noodle plate, two orders of the wontons, and drinks. This time I tried the Passion Fruit Iced Tea, and the real passion fruit pieces at the bottom of the cup absolutely shocked me. I’m still thinking about that drink. I will be going back for more. Across both visits, we tried so many dishes, and not a single one disappointed. Warm service, comforting food, and a place that feels like mama’s kitchen when you’ve had a long day. Pho Rex didn’t just feed us — it wrapped us up in a hug.

You guys, the broth is amazing. It's so full of flavor. Everything we ordered was delicious The Bánh Mi was divine! The prices are better than other places. Go! You won't regret it. My face is full of joy from the meal! 😊 Yum! Two sandwiches, two Pho and two drinks for $50. That's a great deal.

Let me start off by saying that I’ve tried all the PHO spots around my 10 mile radius. It’s become one of my comfort foods! So I think I’m pretty good at reviewing good Pho. I see this place has gotten a few one stars lately and I can understand the wait times sometimes are crazy but that should tell you how much customers come back!! This pho is the BEST Pho I’ve tried! Today, I didn’t want to drive the extra 10 min so I settled for something near my house and I’m so disappointed. If only I would’ve just came here my usual spot. This place never disappoints!!! 10/10 👏

Seems like a new ownership of this original pho place that was here. One thing to mention is that the food was decent, but wasn’t the best that I have had in this cuisine. This place is more of a mix of Thai and Vietnamese food, which is not bad just different! Main thing I was concerned about was that I was trying to ask about a food allergy to egg, but they didn’t seem to know what I was asking. Food We ordered three different dishes and it came to be $50, so i would say it is more pricey than other places. The beef stew was flavorful but It seemed to only have a few pieces of beef inside. I enjoyed the Bun Vermicelli they had with grilled pork and grilled shrimp. Again if you are in the area and looking for a fusion, they have a big dining area. If you can’t decide between Thai or Vietnamese food this place can solve that for you!

We are always greeted and welcomed. Their food and fast service are at point. The owners are very nice people and sure will noticed you if you come often and thank you for your support to their business. They thank us in the past when they recently got the restaurant. Their veggie options are great and their pho is delicious. Is Our to go place to have family dinner and Thai tea boba.

The filet mignon pho we ordered was really good. The shrimp and pork spring rolls were bland. They are missing radish or something to add some flavor to them. Customer service was 5 stars the young lady working in the evening was very helpful and attentive.

Terrible, first we ordered at 5:20 and was told the order would take 20-25 minutes, we show up and it isn't ready, thats expected and fine. Unfortunately we ended up waiting 40 minutes in the restaurant while both take out and dine in got their food before us. Also we asked for no shrimp in the combination noodle and it came both cold (like all of our food) and with a lot of shrimps 🙃 Im now fighting for my life on the toilet at 3 am 🤣🤣 never going back again

This place used to be Pho Mai. The new management has taken over and had a mural of Vietnam painted, brightened the inside and removed some of the old clutter. The food is delicious I'd rate it a 4.3/5 but where they truly win is the service. Not only are they friendly but they are very speedy! Food is typically out almoat within 5-8min from when you order! The only major complaint I have is the serving size for the price you pay should be a bit more generous. Atmosphere has definitely improved! 👌

Great price, service was kind of lacking though we had to flag staff down multiple times to get a box and pay for our food. Food was delicious and the place was decorated nicely and was clean!

Meat in hard and chewy, and the broth is okay i can taste the fish sauce they used to make it salty, . We also order spring roll which also Okay Ive had way better one, Thai tea tasted like water, sorry but this spot is not for me

This is not my first time in this house; I last visited maybe 2yrs ago when it was under a different name, Phò Mai. The food here is excellent as is the service and ambience. I rate most Viet restaurants by the quality of their phò dac biet; the deep flavor of the broth and the ratio of noodles and ingredients to the broth. Phò Rex is a winner all the way around. Definitely a South Vietnamese house with great offerings. Try it, you'll not be disappointed!

I called to order an order of shrimp spring orders. Only 2 spring rolls. They told me it was going to be a 10 minute wait so I waited 10 minutes to go. Once I got there they told me it wasn't ready and it was going to be another few minutes. I waited about 6 minutes and I went to ask where the spring rolls were at. They looked very confused and then went to go ask in the back and came back out, it was going to be another 6 minutes. So in total I waited about 25 minutes or more for 2 shrimp springs rolls. That is absolutely crazy and absurd. I don't normally give bad reviews but this was just crazy. I don't know what happened if it was the cooks in the back or the people in the front that forgot to give the order to back. The employees didn't even apologize or anything at least. The vibe just felt off with us. This was my 3rd time here but I don't think there will be a 4th.

Wanted to thank Annie the owner for really taking the time to fix an issue I had with my last visit. She really cares about the customers and what they say and you can tell she takes a lot of pride in what she does! I really do love this place and know things happen. My boyfriend&I will deff come back soon. Thank you again Annie for your kindness and taking quick action with my situation

Pros: serves banh mi Cons: wait was longer than expected. Just finished the dentist visit. Wanted a quick bite. Found Pho Rex-- why is it named this way? Is it a play on words forex? Idk. Plaza is nice. Parking was plentiful. Interior was nice and modern. Wouldn't mind eating in. Staff was great - smiles all around Ordered 2 grilled pork banh mi's. Wait was 10-15 min. Longer than what I expected. Maybe I'm just spoiled by fast food restaurants. It had all the classic components of a banh mi. Protein, pickled veggies, jalapeños, sauce. The grilled pork was delicious. Here's where I get nit picky and give feedback: The pickled vegetables usually have a nice mix of carrots and daikon. In my "extra on the side veggies" I asked for has mostly carrots. The jalapeño were spicy af with the spicy level near a Serrano pepper. But I think this is normal now as most jalapeños are super spicy now. The bread to filling ratio felt off. I'd like more insides-- meat, veggies, spread. You know, really packing in there. Whenever I took a bite I felt more bread than insides. The grilled pork actually tasted like grilled pork. Also they didn't give me too many fatty pieces which would've ruined it for it. It was a nice balance of fat and non-fatty meat. Really tasty and flavorful. I didn't taste pate. Idk if it was a light spread or Pho Rex didnt include it. Pate is what separates special banh mi from the normal ones. In my eyes, Pho Rex committed a sin. They fed me stale bread for one of the orders. Banh mi is already known for destroying the roof of your mouth. But with stale bread, it adds an extra layer of destruction. If bread was a mob in Minecraft. A regular bread would be a zombie. The stale one was a creeper. But we're human, and we all sin sometimes. Overall I did enjoy both sandwiches. Would consider coming again after the dentist. Next time I'll place an order over the phone to avoid wait times.

I appreciate how this pho place is extremely vegetarian friendly. Almost every Vietnamese meat dish, has a vegetarian version! My family does not eat meat, so we definitely splurged here - we got many options: spring rolls, vegan egg rolls, etc! The only recommendation I would have is to maybe have a sauce option that is also vegetarian. I love how there's vegetarian vermicelli and egg rolls, but we wouldn't be able to top or food with the provided fish sauce.

Pho Rex is serving up some amazing Vietnamese cuisine staples in the IE! This spot is located in a plaza with a good amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a nice casual set up with a good amount of seating. Wifey and I stopped by for dinner around 7pm and were seated right away. For their menu, they are pretty stacked with everything Vietnamese ranging from appetizers, rice, noodle, pho dishes, and more. We opted to try the Rotisserie Chicken (Com Ga Roti), Pho Combination (Pho Dac Biet), and the Pork Sausage Spring Rolls (Nem Nuon Cuon). Everything we had was delicious and the pho broth was valid off the first sip. Overall, we are glad to explore all the awesome Viet spots in the IE and this spot is another one added to the list. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Pho Rex is Viet gang approved!

Food was delicious. I had their vermicelli with pork, shrimp and egg roll. I was able to ask for a little cup of broth. The meal also came with vegetables and sauce for the vermicelli. Delicious! Service was great-fast and courteous! The restaurant is brightly lit with Christmas decors. Gives a family-friendly atmosphere.

I love Pho Rex. It used to be Pho Mai, but luckily the flavors have not changed during name change. The broth is so flavorful and you can tell they put lot of time and effort into their craft. The service is always top notch and the food always comes out very quick. I typically get the combo pho but I decided to be a glutton today and get the beef ribs. One of those ribs were MASSIVE and I let those ribs soak up all the pho flavor. I also feel a sleeper item are the fried egg rolls. I don't know what it is about Vietnamese egg rolls but they do it so much better than any other cuisine. I would recommend going at an off peak hour because I've been during the lunch rush and it can get quite loud. Overall, give Pho Rex a visit and right now they have a Yelp check in promo for a free soda and egg roll.

We decided to have some pho since the weather was cold and the day was gloomy; perfect pho weather. It's been hard to find a good pho spot anywhere in the Inland Empire so we were initially hesitant...until we arrived at Pho Rex. Walking up to the entrance we could clearly SMELL the beef broth aroma which is always a great sign that it'll be good. The placed was PACKED on a Saturday evening, another positive sign that it'll be good. It didn't take long after we were seated to have our orders taken and shortly after, our food arrived. We ordered several bowls of the pho dac biet. They arrived HOT and came exactly how we requested. FOOD WAS DELICIOUS! Hands down the BEST pho I've had in the Inland Empire. I was so excited to dig in that I completely forgot to take a picture before chowing down. Broth was perfectly flavorful and the balance of meat to noodles was perfect. My entire family finished their bowls down to the broth. We were stuffed! Prices were very decent compared to other places ($14.50 for large bowl and $13.50 for small bowl), well worth the value! Service was quick and friendly! I did not hesitate to let my entire family know of our "new" pho spot and recommend they try it. If you are picky with your pho, give this place a try and you won't be disappointed. If you've never had pho, come see what traditional Vietnamese pho is supposed to taste like.

There comes an unspoken loyalty to your local Vietnamese restaurant. Names may change, renovations turn interiors dental-suite gray, fish tanks empty and eventually retire, your favorite dish might fall off the menu. But whether you're cold, congested, hungover, heartbroken, or anemic-- there is almost nothing quite like the cleansing power of hot phở broth coursing through your being to remedy the weariness you carry. With the name/ownership change from Pho Mai to Pho Rex that occurred sometime after 2022, my local Vietnamese restaurant had its own menu shakeup. Out with some of my old faves-- Vermicelli with Chicken Curry (RIP ), Crispy Chicken Leg Quarter w/ Broth On Side (we hardly knew ye )-- and in with a couple concessive pan-Asian expansions with Udon and Pad Thai. But with shifting tides came a new, (literally) eye-catching addition to their phở menu: the Back Ribs. The bone-in premise led to messier fingers and more used napkins than usual, but I can't deny the novelty of the carvinorous presentation (which inspired two freshly-stoned patrons walking by our table to turn their heads and nod in approval). While the post-broth afterglow was nourishing like all great phởs that've come before, my curiosity for this particularly flashy phở was unsparingly satisfied.

Food was great! But service can be better. Our server didn't come by to check on my party at all. Kept walking to the register to ask for things. However, pho was delicious and the egg rolls as well. They have all the typical Vietnamese plates and drinks. With fair prices. Will definitely come back. Now, I will digress, but one thing I'd like to recommend is to adjust the spaces between the table and the seats in the booths! In our first booth, I can barely fit in the space and I am only 95lbs! The second booth we switched to had a space that was way too large. It was awkward reaching for my food. Although the food was great, the service and ambiance definitely need improvement.

Unfortunately, today's food was not tasty and I was very disappointed because last time I ordered from this place it was really good. I ordered the chicken Pho and the chicken given was spoiled, slimy and it had a gross smell, but the spring rolls were tasty.

I can't believe I've known about this restaurant for years and barely trying it for get first time. The menu selection looks so delicious but I was in the mood for Pho so now I'll have to go back to try other menu options indeed! The service good. The restaurant is fairly large and great for small & large parties. The staff were nicer enough to bring me extras to make my pho even better. The spring rolls were so yummy and fresh tasting, and I loved the peanut sauce with thin onion slices that made it delicious. The pho was so delicious with thinly sliced white chicken breast and plenty of it!! What made my pho even better was the toasted onion! I'd never had toasted onion in my pho and it was the best taste! I can't wait to go back and try other items.

The food is good. Noodle and rice soup taste is excellent and the vermicelli with spicy food is great. The fried fillet fish dish with salad is taste superb. I recommend others to try the food in here.

This place has it all, delicious pho, lots of different food and great service. Went with my mother and brother and I tried the chicken Wonton soup with BBQ pork and it was delicious. I ordered ala side of fatty brisket to go along with it and was just perfect. Tried moms phone and it was so good too, my brother got some other dish that came in a bowl, didn't try it but looked good. Will definitely come back! Wish they would open a location in San Gabriel.

Great place to eat , and the portions are really well served. The environment is chill, and they are quick to serve you. Came here for a quick bite. I got the jasmine tea and Thai tea and ended up staying longer than I thought. I thought we could get the bigger plates and ordered a couple of items on that menu and ended up with plenty of take-home food, so that was a major plus. It's a little restaurant but with major flavor and a clean restroom, also a major plus to me.

Delicious pho, the soup base was tasty and everything tasted fresh. The place is also clean and the waiter is courteous. The regular size pho was just right for me. My husband got the large size and had some leftovers.

I do enjoy the flavor of the food here. The service is sufficient if you're willing to ask questions, They are willing to make suggestions and they are willing to accommodate certain requests.

Came here on a rainy day because who doesn't crave pho when it's cold? Usually I make it at home but today, I decided to try this place out. First off, customer service is great! They are all so nice and friendly compared to other small family owned pho restaurants. They also have a great selection of music playing(if you like the 90's, early 00's r&b) Brisket and Meat Ball Pho: 8.9/10 broth is actually really flavorful and didn't really need to add much condiments to it which is great in my opinion. Nem Nuong Spring Rolls: 6.510 I feel like the pork could've been grilled a little more and it also lacked in flavor. They put the egg roll wrap in it which I love but I can definitely taste the oil that it was fried in. Peanut sauce can be a little more flavorful, it tasted a little bland. Grilled Beef Banh Mi: 5/10 I got it with no mayo so I don't know if it makes a difference but it had this weird soy sauce flavor to it that I just didn't enjoy too much. I also wish the pickled carrots were more tangier. I would def come back just for the pho and probably try other things next time. I saw they have ban xeo so that'll be in my review :)

Pho Rex is my favorite pho place in SB county. The meat quality is good and the service and portion sizes are great too. I've been to their original location over 10 times last few years. Highly recommended!

Cold nights pho hits the spot and this place is clean. Service was easy you walk in get seated figure out what you want to eat. We felt very welcomed here and the food omg pho was amazing very clean broth that's the way it should be. This place does gets crowded so feel free to walk around the plaza. Definitely coming back.

I was down the hill for a doctor appointment. I told my dear friend that I would drop by her house to give her some new pens since she was out of them... I had some extra new pens to give if you're wondering LOL. She asked if I was available for dinner. Yes, of course I was LOL. Thank you my friend for treating dinner. I appreciate your kindness and generosity. She's been wanting to try Pho Rex since it is now under new management. It used to be Pho Mai. It was my first time here ever because I didn't eat here when it was Pho Mai. Upon entry, I was delightfully surprised by its attractive decor and good open space. Although, I was slightly concerned by its lack of customers during dinner time. Hope it was just an off day for them. Anyway, the friendly staff came right over with the menu. They have some good selection of Vietnamese foods. Prices were okay... there is no longer $7.00 Pho... we're looking at double that nowadays LOL. Funny, they also have one Thai dish... Pad Thai, but no other Thai dishes... we can't really designate them as a fusion place with that LOL. My friend got the Vegetarian Egg Rolls with vermicelli and I got the Seafood Combination Noodle Soup. We both shared our dishes with each other because we wanted to try the other LOL. Vegetarian egg rolls with vermicelli was good, but the fish sauce that came with it was not the most authentic... it was very watered down... it lacked fish sauce and lemon or lime. Presentation was nice. Seafood combination noodle soup was okay... soup tasted msgish... seafood was lacking a bit... noodles and veggies were plenty though. There could definitely be some improvements. I probably will not be back here on my own unless my friend wants to give them another chance and she asks me to join her again. Happy Pho Rex'ing!
