The Top Family-Friendly Restaurants in Dallas | Eater

"Big families, rejoice: Most appetizers at Pho Saigon are under $5, while entrees are priced at $11 or less. But the biggest plus? Variety. Pho options are numerous, with choices like chicken, seafood, and beef and portion sizes leaving nothing to be desired. Order up a few different bowls and eat family-style, or mix in extras — thai basil, cilantro, and jalapeños — to customize to your tastes." - Vox Creative

We love coming here when in the area. It's one of our favorite spots. The pho is amazing, they have a great lunch special and they have fast service. Very mom and pop shop which we love.

Matthew Rodriguez

Google
Pleasantly surprised by the quality of their spicy beef pho. It was hard trying to decide which place to eat pho at with so many options in the area but I am so glad I chose this place. Their Broth is on point and spice was just right, not too hot either. I Will have to go bring the family next time.

Kelsey Adolfo

Google
The best pho place with the best prices. Their lunch special is only 12.99 for the small (still a big bowl to me) 2 egg or spring rolls and a drink. You just can't beat it.

Nicholas Young

Google
You will not find better pho anywhere in Dallas. Especially for the price. $11 for the big bowl is an incredible steal. I come pretty much every weekend and look forward to it every time. You will not regret coming here.

Google
great value! chicken pho with veggies was good. the combo is worth. vietnamese coffee was super strong. tofu in my pho tasted a little bit like freezer burn but i wont take 1 star off it just bc of that. everything else was great. food came out super fast too.

Google
Amazing Pho. I had it twice this week. Everyone in our table enjoyed it and i highly recommend it.

Google
My visit to Phở Saigon #8 was a flavorful adventure. Opting for the spicy beef pho, I was delighted by the rich blend of spices and tender meat. The service impressed me with its efficiency, ensuring a quick and enjoyable dining experience. While the atmosphere was decent, it didn't particularly stand out. Nevertheless, the overall combination of tasty pho and swift service makes it a place worth revisiting for a satisfying meal.

Google
The food was alright, nothing I would go out of my way for. The grilled pork had more of a sweeter Korean flavor, kinda like bulgolgi, than your normal Vietnamese grilled pork. About $36 for a grilled pork broken rice platter, grilled pork vermicelli bowl, one order of fresh summer rolls and an iced coffee

Yelp
Service was incredibly prompt and gracious. There were 5 people in my group that showed up at different times. The waiters were very understanding and made sure to give waters and check on apps as everyone came in. The peanut spring rolls sauce is the MOST AMAZING SAUCE I HAVE EVER HAD! I kept dipping everything into it. Musts: the egg rolls (so addicting), beef spring rolls, and the vermicelli. The veggies in the vermicelli were so fresh and crispy! I loved the texture. The food is priced affordably. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
This is wonderful little whole in the wall place. It is located in a Korean Shopping Center/Strip Mall. They have an incredible lunch special with Pho, Spring Roll or Egg Roll, and a can of Soda. The service was prompt but we did go during the busy lunch hour. The Pho was some of the best we had in the area. We have been back several times. We are going to adventure out and taste some of the neighboring Korean Restaurants.

Yelp
We went out clay shooting on a cold and rainy morning....Typical Texas weather as it was 70 degrees the day before and then 40 degrees this particular morning. My father had served in Vietnam and one of his favorites if Pho. My wife looked this place up and we were on the road just a couple miles away. Very simple setting inside, maybe 15 tables or so and they could probably fit more, but this was comfortably spaced out. Gives a family friendly vibe to it and they have a great lunch special on Sundays (I think other days too) which includes a bowl of Pho, egg rolls/spring rolls, and a drink for like $12.50. Steal!!! My father surprised me and ordered the Banh Mi after talking about Pho the whole way there. But then it was clear that his plan was to share our Pho bowls (and kids) and then have the sandwich to himself....The Banh Mi is pretty good there, perhaps leaning a bit on the sweet side for me but he loved it. Something about that combination of flavors on a baguette and just does wonders to your soul....$5 on the menu and I didn't pay (Dad did) so unable to see the bill. With my Dad if you touch the bill you pay for it so wasn't going there! We had both chicken and combination phos ordered between the rest of us and I can say that both were very good. While it's not traditional, I like to see the grease bubbles in the pho broth. And this one delivered. A hearty helping of noodles ensured that no one left hungry either. Servers very helpful and also answered my family's questions politely. Pho was out within 5 minutes or so and was nice and hot, perfect after a cold day of shooting. We got there about 11:30 am and by the time we left, people were pouring in so this place has a following seems. This place is located in an Asian market area that has many different types of foods so not a bad place to go back and try others.

Yelp
Pho Saigon #8???? So does that mean that there was a Pho Saigon #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, or #7???? Hummmmmmmmmmm, just wondering??? When I was getting my Korean Frrrrrried Chicken wings the other day from No. 1 Plus Chicken, I noticed a few doors down there was a Vietnamese restaurant called Pho Saigon #8. Not wanting to eat too much frrrrrrried chicken, I figured I'd check out this restaurant another day for a nice bowl of pho. Upon entering the restaurant, I was greeted right away. I must say the restaurant was much more spacious than I had anticipated, and it was nice & clean. After looking over the menu, I decided to get myself a large bowl of chicken pho. What can I say about the pho? The soup for my pho didn't have a lot of depth, and was on the blander side and the vegetable & meat portions were not outstanding. Since I'm from the 808, there are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants out here in the islands, so I've had my share of pho to compare it by. Great prices on their food, and service was on point. Lots of parking here, so it's easy access.

Yelp
First time visiting and definitely coming back! They have pho lunch specials EVERYDAY and different sizes for pho. I think this is important since not everyone can have a full big bowl. It is good to have that option. The broth was really good. Had the steak pho, egg rolls and shrimp spring rolls. Egg rolls are not bad. Would order them again. The shrimp rolls were ok, but I've had better. Service very attentive and fast.

Yelp
Only update and loss of stars is they post they are open until 9 but will close early a LOT and its random. One day they closed at 8 instead of 9. Another day closed at 8:30 instead of 9. One day I got there at 7:40 and it was completely closed, lights off and everything. Why have business hours if it's not followed? Food is still incredible but business is unreliable to actually be open for dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Roach in the Pho. Absolutely disgusting. The owner only replaced the pho. Acting like it was nothing.

Yelp
Generous portions, hot & delicious and prompt service! It was my 2nd time picking up lunch and I've spread the word at work. The restaurant is inviting, one of these days I'll dine in :)

Yelp
My wife, sisters and I just landed at Dallas Love Field and came across Pho Saigon #8. We were wonderfully greeted when we walked in and ordered 4 bowls of Pho, 2 orders of egg rolls, 1 Grilled Pork Sandwich, and 1 Grilled Beef Sandwich. Everything was delicious! The broth for the pho was full of flavor and had good cuts of meat. The egg rolls were fresh and tasty. Both sandwiches were very flavorful. The French bread was perfectly toasted. Everything we ordered was so good that we just had to try one more thing, Com Bo Luc Lac (Sautéed Blackpepper Beef) which was the icing on the cake. The beef was so tender and the sauce was buttery delicious. Our server, who just moved to Dallas, was so attentive. He was so kind and always came to our table with a smile. We're looking forward to making another stop at Pho Saigon #8 before flying back to Southern California.

Yelp
Great local place for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Their menu offers a similar selection to what you'd find at most Vietnamese restaurants, and it's a solid option for when you're in the area and craving phở or any other Vietnamese comfort foods. The service is quick and friendly, and there's plenty of seating offered inside for small to larger-sized groups.
google avatar

Yelp
First time in the area and we absolutely loved our experience here. Customer service was attentive, quick, and friendly. The food was phenomenal and was a great first meal for us in Texas. The interior is quite large and very clean. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Drew J.

Yelp
The food was good and im always suprised by the selection and service. My gr is vietnamese and she says that its pretty good but not better than her moms cooking
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a few times for the Pho. The Pho is a bit more flavorful than a few others I've had, however today I tried the beef fried rice and from. Is on that's my standard order. Beyond good. People there are nice and the place is always clean.

Lisa R.

Yelp
My co-worker and I eat here often. Their Pho is delicious, and service is prompt and friendly. I want to try other items on their menu, but can't ever give up the Pho! I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is right next to my apartment and my fiancé and I come here all the time! Always hits the spot and the owners are very kind :) would recommend

Yelp
My girlfriend and I went here the other night it was pretty good food and I highly recommend

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE! They are dishonest about their prices and the owner throws people out and threats to call police if you don't pay his price. His menu has one price such as $10 for a meal. The pos has another price which was $15. When you challenge it they said it's not their problem you pay or they call police. I now know of at least 6 people this has happened to at this location. Bait and Switch is illegal and they need to be stopped! I am guessing lost customers do not notice a few dollars difference in a ticket and just pay it. So they keep getting away with stealing people money. It's said because the food quality is ok it's the criminal act of blackmailing customers to pay a higher price and threatening them if they don't pay that's the issue. Set the price, advertise it properly and don't be crooks.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was great the prices were better. The service lacked due to the language barrier.

Yelp
We have tried pho in a lot of places- and our expectations were not high for this place at all- We ordered the fried spring rolls and the wrapped summer rolls. Which we both okay- it was the type of spring and summer rolls I personally liked. The spring rolls were the uncut long ones fried with the egg papers. The summer rolls didn't have mint in them- just sprouts, small amount of shrimp- even split in half to make it look like full ones, and lettuce. The pho came out we got 1 large, 1 small. The broth was.... Not really that great at all. Didn't feel like we were eating at a pho place. Usually the broth is rich and full of flavor but this broth felt lacking like they boiled it for a couple mins and then diluted it. Usually at pho places there are loads of meat and noodles to the point where it is overwhelming. Here there were a small amount of noodles and in the large not enough meat at all. The only thing we liked was the hot sauce in the small counter with the spoon which made the pho a bit better and the spring rolls. There is better pho around- won't be going back for the pho maybe try the bahn mi to

Yelp
Came in on a Wednesday night and it got a little busy with some small tables and a large party. Service was friendly and attentive. Food 4/5 I had the beef pho with no meat it was nothing to complain about, nothing necessarily spectacular. Safe bet and good, looks like other people enjoy the beef pho.
google avatar

Luis G.

Yelp
Very friendly, great food! The restaurant is really clean. 10/10 Definitely will come back in the near future!
google avatar

Samar D.

Yelp
I was too hungry to take a picture and post! I ordered the chicken pho and it was packed with flavor. I ordered a small and they give you a lot for your money. I will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been try this place twice but both times were not great as much I expected. I eaten bunch of pho in my life and this place was not bad. This place was busy place and you should confirm with them what you order. This place waiters or waitresses were a bit language barrier and service was slow. I hadn't get great serve from this place waitress or waiter both time. I got so annoyed how they were slow serve or confused my ordered. But I only could recommend you that must try this place Vietnamese coffee. It's dropped coffee but also sweet. I only love that from this place. I ordered lunch special menu you can choice pho and spring rolls or summer rolls with soda. My friend got spicy pho it looks good but I didn't try that. I ordered brisket pho but some of brisket was nasty. Spring rolls were ok but nothing special.
google avatar

Heath G.

Yelp
Prices in the menu weren't right. Imagine our surprise when we went to pay our bill and we found out that our bill was $10 higher! They made no attempt to correct the problem. Avoid this place or at least clarify what the prices are when you order your food.
google avatar

Alexis W.

Yelp
The food here is so good! Surrounded by Korean food is this Vietnamese gem. The nem nuong does not disappoint here and the thit nuong rice plate is so good as well. So flavorful and tender! They are super friendly and also a great place to sit down and eat if you don't want to do take-out! I usually order takeout and walk around the Korean supermarket until my food is ready!
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
It was a cold windy and we were in the mood for some pho!!! This restaurant is located in an Asian themed mall called Asiana of course! The restaurant is roomy and clean but a bit cold temperature wise. But the seafood egg noodle soup, P28 Pho Do Bien, the shaken beef, C16-Com Bo Luc Lac and V15, Bun with shredded pork and eggroll and added shrimp The pho came out piping hot and was delish as well as the shaken beef (so tender with a kick to it) and the bun with filled with plenty of shrimp, pork and eggroll! All were good but food got cold because the room was cold. Otherwise, since it was near closing, we took the rest of the bun back to the hotel.
google avatar

Amanda V.

Yelp
This place is spacious & quiet. They have lots of different pho options, whether you want seafood, beef, or chicken. The small portion is plenty and they also have a large. This place serves your food very fast and they have everything you need at the table. Sriracha, spoon, napkins, chili sauce. I really enjoy the spring rolls from here with the peanut sauce. You get two in one order. It's tucked in A shopping center, next to a coffee shop. And they're very kind. If you want more sprouts and all the fixings for the pho they will bring you more.

Emily G.

Yelp
Horrible owner! All menu prices have gone up (which is fine and expected) but they won't tell you all the up charges. Menu prices all wrong. Less than 5 pieces of tiny meat in my pho and was told extra charges made for extra meat. They won't tell you any of this. Owner smirked and didn't even apologize.
google avatar

Kurt V.

Yelp
I was fairly impressed by this place, but not blown away. Service: Friendly, helpful, and quick. No complaints here. The Food: I ordered the grilled Shrimp and Egg Rolls. The Egg Rolls were Delicious! The Grilled Shrimp came with noodles and vegetables. The shrimp was over cooked and dry. They could have been better. The noodles were very good. The decor was simple and pleasant. OverallI the experience was good enough to earn a return visit. I don't think this will ever be my favorite restaurant but it certainly is pretty darn good.
google avatar

Yelp
HELLO NEW FAVE PHO SPOT! Being that I am Vietnamese, I'm picky on Pho, but I actually really like this place. They always give good portions and don't skimp on the meat. OMG, their Com Bo Luc Lac (shaken beef) is f*cking amazing - if you haven't tried it, it's a serious must! Great service, always clean, bathrooms are never dirty, food always comes out in a timely manner and the prices are affordable. Also, big plus that it's down the street from my apartment. I swear I've come by ALMOST every Sunday right when it opens because as they say.. pho cures hangovers :)
google avatar

Yuki I.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times, and their pho is pretty good! Better than other ones I've had in Dallas. I highly recommend their lunch special, which consists of egg/spring rolls, pho, and a drink for an affordable price! For me, the small bowl is a sizable portion and definitely enough to fill me up! There is a small Korean grocery store, as well as a bakery, in the same complex. So after you've eaten, you can get some Asian groceries and baked goods! PS - Plenty of parking in the lot in front of the restaurant/complex. The lot is shared by the businesses in the complex.

Yelp
Neighborhood gem. Found this place after some searching after moving to Dallas. Unfortunately we learned our area is called a "food desert" due to lack of options and we really are used to larger more diverse cities with more variety and less chains. This is a bright spot comparable with the Vietnamese spots in Houston. We will be regulars here for as long as we remain in Dallas.

Yelp
Oh my my my...... the reviews seem to be all over the place but consistent four stars for some reason. You all are going to want to nail Me to the Cross for this but you want my honest opinion no? Okay don't read then. ;) I am going to start with the good, the food was very good from what I ate tonight. I had the Pho with the fatty brisket and steak. I usually test the broth first before putting absolutely anything in there to see if something needs to be added and I must have gotten the good batch because I've seen what the other reviewers said and that it was watered down, maybe I got the bottom of the barrel? I also ordered the pork spring roll which was really good accompanied by the peanut sauce on the side, add the chili pepper that is in the bottle for better spicy flavoring. The pork was flavorful and tender. I also ordered the Vietnamese pork sandwich to go and while it is sitting in my refrigerator right now, probably not fair to review about it since taking it out and microwave in a little bit is going to give it a stale texture. Oh, quickly back to the broth, did not have to add anything to it but I still had chili because I like the spicy flavoring, meat was tender not overcooked and the right portion. And now we bad, oh boy...... would it be kind of awkward if you were a server just coming to the table not to say anything but just standing there hovering over the guest Ana bit even a greet? Yes that is the kind of service you get here, not hello can I get you something to drink or would you like a few minutes? Just stood there so to play along I just didn't bother looking up and pretend to not know my surroundings. She finally said something and then I responded could I get some water with no ice with with the side of silence? I know, it was not a nice to do, I will not do it again she was a sweet lady. Then there was the bathroom issue with no soap. Walking to the restroom to wash my hands I can see the guy sitting on a stool in the kitchen and with bare hands doing egg rolls or something no gloves, I guess this is a common practice, who knows but when mother does Eggrolls, she put gloves on, maybe she has me spoiled. So after I tell the waitress that there is no soap in the restrooms and wondered how do the kitchen guys wash their hands after the dirty duty if there is no soap? She said the owner is going to get some soap, go ahead and use the soap in the women's restroom. That was not the point miss...... . Back on out after finally getting my hands washed I sit back at the table and wait for my food This is true Asian service meaning it's the drop and run away. If you should ever need something be ready to flail your hands or something because you will not get a return visit. The place was kind of clean hence the guy trying to mop around me so I got to eat my food with a nice flowery scent. They might want to put a wet floor sign out because the floor was pretty slick looking on that concrete while people still walking in and out. You know how people are these days Then, while trying to eat there comes this constant banging on the kitchen floor, I guess they were killing somebody's meal for half an hour but very unpleasant experience for me trying to eat here but I guess I got the good batch of soup with the bad service and noisy pounding from the kitchen. Will I be back? Maybe in about a year or if I'm desperate, really though the food is really good.

Yelp
Of all the pho I've tried in the DFW area, I have to say this is one of my favorite place. The broth is extremely tasty and flavorful. It's not plain like other places. The portion size is good. There's a lot of good things about this place. I would definitely recommend this to others. It's pretty good.
google avatar

Vipul T.

Yelp
I visited this place for a weekday lunch with office colleagues. This place serves the Vietnamese cuisine. Here is my perspective about the place. Food (4/5) -. I tried their Flat Tofu Noodles (Stir Fried). It had a lot of veggies like carrot, broccoli, mushroom and many more along with Tofu. The portion size was good. The taste was quite good and I loved their chutney kinda thing which was there along with sauces on the table. They have chopsticks as well as a spoon and fork. So, you can choose whichever you prefer. It cost me 9.5 dollars plus taxes. They do have lunch combo specials as well starting from 9 dollars in which there is an appetizer, a main course and a drink. Ambience (4/5) - I loved the ambience of the place. They have nice and big photo frames put on the walls. Service (4.5/5) - The service was really good. The staff was polite and courteous. They were well trained. Also, got our order very quick. Overall, the experience was quite good.

Yelp
Last time I was here the food wasn't too good. But today! OMG my pho with tai and meatballs was the bomb!!! The flavor of the stock spot on. The only thing I would change is that the beef tenderloin was all stuck together and not in individual pieces, regardless, the food was simply amazing.
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
If there was 6 stars, I would give this place a 6 star rating. I've been here many times. Any time I'm craving pho, this is my go-to place. Their portion sizes are ridiculously large for the price. You cannot beat it. The broth is unbelievable too. You can tell they've put some time into the making of their food. You have to go for their lunch special, by the way. Pho, a side order, and soft drink for under $10. Where are you going to find a deal better than that?

Brandon T.

Yelp
The food was mediocre and not the best. I order bun ga nuong cha gio (grilled chicken noodle with egg roll) and the nước mắm (fish sauce) that came with it have no to little flavor to it. I also order Pho Tai Nam Gan Sach (Eye-Round Steak, Flank, Tendon & Tripe noodle soup) have little flavor and it's wasn't hot enough, feel like eating cold soup. If you guys want to eat authentic Vietnamese dish don't come here.
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
The pho is almost a 4/5. The broth was lacking in depth, but there isn't any better pho restaurants close to central/south Dallas. Sometimes I don't want to make the trip to Richardson, Garland etc., for good pho. So this place is decent enough. The pho also comes in a small, large, and extra large sizes! I liked that the menu was rather extensive. They have a lot of options if you aren't looking to get pho.

Jung K.

Yelp
BEWARE: I saw the lady waitress reusing bean sprouts which were leftover from the table. She took it to behind of counter and restocked for later use. I mean seriously? That's NO NO NO!!!!!
google avatar

Sherina L.

Yelp
Few times lately I come to Pho Saigon and it's says they are open and the doors are locked.

Julius P.

Yelp
Very friendly and attentive staff. Never too busy. Great price, great food. Ive been eating pho for many years and this place always hits the spot. Their broth is very savory which is what I prefer. The eye round and brisket slices are always tender.
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
This is the place I would recommend to anyone for pho in the dfw area They do a good job of added a lot of meat in the bowl without too much soup or too much noodle The staff is friendly and the prices are pretty good as well
google avatar

Amanda A.

Yelp
Love the brisket, round eye steak and meatball pho and egg rolls!! Broth is flavorful which makes this my #1 reason of coming back often!

Yelp
Pho Saigon has filled the void in my heart since I moved away from Dallas and Dalat, which was my pho go-to when I lived there. Pho Saigon is not what I would call a conventional place. When you first walk in, you'll be greeted by someone who, depending on how busy it is, will have you sit wherever you like. Service is very prompt, too - at least, it has been every time I've gone in. The restaurant itself is a bit ragtag - it doesn't have a bunch of uniformity to it, but that's part of its charm. What it lacks there is more than made up by the quality of the food. I love that the pho comes in several sizes. I hate it when I have to eat a ginormous bowl of pho that I can't finish. The broth is perfection - aromatic and savory. They're also very generous with the toppings. They always bring you a nice plate piled high with mung bean sprouts, thai basil, cilantro, and jalapenos. The chicken is thinly sliced, which I absolutely love, and makes it easier to eat. We asked the owner what was behind the number in the name of the restaurant. He was engaging and replied that he chose to give it the number 8 because he felt it was his lucky number. We're the lucky ones to have found such a great pho spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Great pho place if you're looking for that ma pa feel, nothing fancy. Simple, price is ok (everything in life has gone up), amount of food is good too.
google avatar

Kevin N.

Yelp
Fabulous food and great service. The price is fairly good. I recommend you come after lunch if you want to avoid crowds
google avatar

Yelp
It was good. I had the Chicken Pho and shrimp spring roll lunch special. The chicken was kind of bland though.
