Got: Vermicelli noodle bowl, large bowl of pho special
Price: $15, $15
Value: 7/10 slightly pricey but a solid Vietnamese place
Solid Vietnamese place in an unsuspecting area. The interior is large and decorated well. A couple of tables were occupied when I walked in around noon on a weekday but the atmosphere was calm. Service was quick and attentive. Siracha and other sauces are on the table when you arrive. Payment happens at the front counter after you finish your meal.
The pho broth was rich and savory, slightly sweet. The noodles were Al dente in the beginning but softened as they sat in the hot broth. The special didn't have as many meat goodies as I would've liked. Was it worth the extra dollar from the regular beef pho? Maybe?
I got the vermicelli noodle bowl to go and ate it for dinner 6 hours later. Obviously, the egg rolls and pork weren't crispy or hot anymore but I could still taste the char and grill flavor. The plating could've been prettier but I expect it would be if I ordered it to eat at the restaurant.
Overall, I would return for a hot bowl of pho or whenever the Vietnamese food craving hits. A solid place with quick service and a decorated ambiance.
