My husband and I have explored several Pho restaurants across the valley, and while all were enjoyable, this particular spot exceeded our expectations, I got the number 5 and my husband got the number 1. The broth boasted a richness of flavor leaving me savoring every last drop. Portions here are generous, offering generous servings of noodles, meat, and broth compared to other places we've visited. Unlike elsewhere, where we often find ourselves requesting additional noodles or meat, here we found the perfect balance. While the veggie spring rolls lacked a bit of flavor on their own the peanut sauce elevated them to perfection. Needless to say, we've declared this our new go to Pho spot and look forward to returning often!

Really good Pho! Great portions and service. I got the chicken pho and came around 4pm on a Tuesday. It gets really busy if you don’t get there early!

The portion is great 👍. The basil and bean sprout is fresh. The broth could use more onions and less salty. It was still very busy and full at 2:00pm, so it would indicates this is probably a popular Pho shop.👏👏👏

Pretty decent pho! I got the beef brisket pho and my mate got the rare steak pho and the Thai iced tea. It was a lot better than the pho in my town (Love Pho in Newbury Park), but not as good as my aunt's pho (Pho Saigon in Port Hueneme). Service wasn't stellar but we weren't expecting it to be. We came for the pho, not the service.

My family and I have been going to this place for over 20 years and one of my favorite pho restaurants. I haven’t been here in almost 4 years as I’ve been outside the country and great to know they still have the same fast service and tasty poke of pho I remember. They have become victim to the Siracha shortage as they don’t have the rooster brand and that does change the flavors a bit but overall I’m still happy, though the price is quite a shock at nearly $15/bowl

Good pho, spring rolls with the peanut sauce and the egg rolls were good. The rare steak was amazing. Portion sizes were huge. Wait time was so short I didn’t have time to take a sip of my water. For some reason there was obnoxious screaming in the back but I ain’t gonna question it. Good spot if you’re craving pho.

This review is specifically for vegetarians. There are exactly 3 items on the menu for vegetarians - a veggie pho, a noodle dish with stir fried veggies and tofu, and tofu spring rolls. The spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce were probably the best thing. The others weren't bad, but they weren't amazing either. I'm sure people who eat meat and seafood love this place, but I don't see us returning, given that we've tried everything on the menu that's available to us vegetarians, and didn't particularly love it.

Enjoyed my meal here! Prices were decent and the portions were big. I came at 11a on Juneteenth and it got crowded by noon. Everybody wanted to come on their day off :) I highly recommend coming here!

Food is delicious! We weren't too hungry so just came in to try their fried eggrolls, a rice plate (#89 charbroiled pork) and a small side bowl of pho broth. The fried egg rolls were so yummy. The exterior was crispy and not soggy or greasy. Loved that it came with a side of lettuce, radish, carrots and mint! The small bowl of pho broth was just what I needed after a long drive. It was very clean & savory. Can definitely taste the star-anise and cinnamon, which was very comforting. The rice plate was yummy as well. The pork had a ton of flavor and was tender. Service was quick & food came out hot and fresh. In and out which is what we wanted. Giving it a 4-star because didn't get to try their actual pho but heard lots of great things. Will be back!!!

This dude was kind enough to recommend the beef pho #37 even with me creeping up outside the window ( ° °) He was right !!!! It was damn good Brisket You know you need those donuts to soak up the delicious broth

2024.07-12/FRI: One of the best pho broths in the city. Pure deliciousness! I always crave their broth and their delicious fried egg rolls! We love that they give you enough lettuce, pickled radish and carrots along with mint! 100% legit! The staff is so nice and truly friendly! Our server didn't even have to write our order down! This is our pho spot when we can't visit our spot in Santa Clarita! We love Pho So 1!

Pho So 1 is always a hit whenever I go! They give really good portions for the price and are very consistent. The broth is beyond flavorful and pairs nicely with some siracha. The noodles and chicken are always cooked to perfection, which I find sometimes at other pho places, noodles are too hard or too soft. Definitely will be coming back here!

The food was delicious. The pho was rich and aromatic and the servings were generous. The ambiance of the place is modern.

The food here is ALWAYS CONSISTENT AND GOOD!! Service is quick. Someone is at your table seconds after you sit down. The atmosphere is conducive eating and chatting then leaving...around lunchtime it can get pretty busy. I hadn't gone in over a year and was pleasantly surprised at the renovations done. Great job!

I love Pho So 1! The portion sizes are huge and are so worth it and taste so delicious. I got the #1 combination and it tasted amazing. The service was overall very fast and you pay at the front so no one needs to pay for the group. Loved the chatty loud environment and was overall, just an amazing place to eat pho (and located very close to Costco which makes it a plus).

During our recent holiday trip to Los Angeles, it often rained, and the daytime temperatures hovered in the mid 50°F to low 60°F. The colder temperatures and wet weather made our hot noodle soup-loving appetites roar, but we were wary about driving further than within a 10-mile radius. My brother-in-law mentioned he wanted to do some marketing at Costco - Van Nuys, and we soon found ourselves at the Signature Plaza on Sepulveda Boulevard. Both my husband and brother-in-law were leaning towards Sam Woo BBQ, but I balked because we had just eaten Chinese food two days before. Although my brother-in-law resides in Los Angeles, he hadn't tried this local Vietnamese chain before, so they gave in to my "whining." The bright and open restaurant wasn't crowded when we entered, so we were seated with menus immediately. Within a few minutes, a server came by to take our order, but since this was our first visit, we needed more time to review the menu. We liked the well-organized menu and helpful colorful pictures. Also, we appreciated the warmer indoor temperatures because we had gotten soaked by the downpour going on outside. FOOD: -Chả Giò: Fried egg rolls filled with ground pork and served with lettuce, cucumber, mint leaves, and fish sauce. The exterior wrappers were crisp, bubbly, and chewy since they used rice paper and not wheat-based wrappers. These rolls were served hot from the kitchen, and we had to wait a few seconds to allow them to cool before chomping into them. $10.60 -Đặc Biệt Xe Lửa (trans: "train-size" or code for a massive bowl of connoisseurs' luxe combination): My brother-in-law and I chose this menu item since we couldn't decide on phở toppings. Phở Số 1's bowl contained a unique combination of rare steak, well-done flank steak, fatty brisket, soft tendon, and tripe. This massive bowl of steaming hot, flavorful broth with chewy and slurpable linguine-shaped rice noodles topped various beef cuts, warmed our bodies, and comforted our appetites. The portion size for its price was well worth it since I compared it to what we'd get in my hometown. $13.75 -Cơm Bì Chả Sườn: My porkaholic husband selected this rice plate as we recognized it as "a celebration of pork." The platter featured a warm bed of rice accented with a thin slice of grilled pork chop marinated in fish sauce and sugar, a wedge of steamed pork-egg meatloaf, and thinly shredded pork skin (rind). My husband was a bit disappointed that the pork chop was so thin that it was dry even though it had good flavor. The steamed pork-egg meatloaf was served at room temperature and had its characteristic medium-firm spongy texture. Another disappointment with this dish that my husband voiced was the dry and hard texture of the rice. $14.25 As we continued eating our lunches, the restaurant filled, and a short line of other hungry customers formed. It was great to see how popular this restaurant was, judging by its flavors, portions, value, and service. We'd gladly return for more.

SO FAST! Seated quickly. Food came out in around 3 minutes. The bun thit nuong was flavorful and refreshing. A huge portion for only $14!

Today I was introduced to Jack - fruit! It came in the form of a smoothie @ Pho So 1. Van Nuys. Sweet, tangy, and refreshing! The service here is on point. Very little waiting! Check this place out whether you are hungry or thirsty!

When I want pho I think about pho so 1 it's so flavorful and yummy. Staff is a little short with you but they can also be very helpful when you have a questions, they're busy so they're getting those orders out and keeping tables open for more customers. It's clean inside and they have a lot of tables to sit at I've been coming here for years they're menu has a lot of options to choose from, my mom always orders a rice dish while my sister and I stick to pho and sometimes dry noodle dishes.

I love this place! The food is always delicious and flavorful. Service tent horrible but could be a bit better but overall this place is fire!

After trying the West Hills location, I prefer that spot over this one. They are not as stingy with their portions and have the hot sauce that is best. Van Nuys only has siracha which is strange as they used to have the good hot sauce. I ordered #1 as usual and then the vermicelli with shrimp and beef to go. When I opened it, it was the saddest looking meal. The shrimp are tiny and exactly only 4 and literally only 3 slices of beef. Although it tasted decent, the portion of protein was disappointing. Also, I do feel that the West Hills location gave more protein in the pho bowl too.

Ohhhhhh. Saaaad. Did the owner change? I hadn't gone there in a few years, so this might be an old news... The menu is totally different, and it's no longer as reasonable as before. And my favorite "special meat course" vanished. :(:(:( The food is fine but not as good as before. It's hard to get attentions from the servers.

This place was hopping on a busy Sunday afternoon. Located next to a 99 Ranch Market, the restaurant benefits from the constant foot traffic at this shopping center. We weren't even planning to have pho for lunch, but after checking out the deli section of the supermarket, we decided that having a steamy hot bowl of noodles would be more satisfying than the ready to serve options at the 99 Ranch. And talk about a bowl! It is metallic and more like a wash basin than a traditional bowl. The wide girth not only looked impressive, but it also allowed fast cooling of the hot broth because of the greater surface area. I didn't have to wait ten minutes before burying my face in the pho. The broth was tasty, but it's a bit on the salty side and I've had better. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, especially because the indoor dining area offered refuge from the stormy weather outside. Service was curt and we had to try hard to get the attention of the staff to order. I don't know when they were going to stop by our table with the bill, so I proactively walked up to the cashier to pay.

The service is excellent. The food I consistently good but in the last couple of years things haven't been the same. The Phö is great. The Bun is awesome. The egg rolls are the best. My only reason for saying anything other than good is the lack of the chilli sauce. What happened guys? That was what made it taste right. I love the smells, tastes and almost everything else about this particular place. I just wish they still had the original chilli sauce.

They are always busy at this location, it must be one of their best. Or is it because they are right Nextdoor to the biggest Asian supermarket in the Valley? Anyway, it's worth going to. I've been coming to this location for years. It always hits the spot, no matter what the craving. If you want pho, it's delicious. If you want chicken pho, delicious too. If you want any combination rice plates, all good. There are some things you shouldn't order, and those should already be known, stuff people don't usually order, don't order it, lol. If you order stuff that you would order at any pho shop, you can't go wrong getting it here. Try it, it's worth it. Good food, good service, good price. It'll get your cravings fulfilled.

First time trying Pho in this place. Went on a Sunday lunch hour. Serving was fast and place was clean. We ordered Pho #1 and #17. The serving was huge I think 2 ppl can share 1 bowl but still depends. The egg rolls were just ok. I didn't like the wrapper they used as it was alil hard to chew when you let it sit for awhile. We also tried the pink jelly, didn't like the taste that much. I think it has too much coconut shavings. Overall, this place is worth a visit.

The food tasted pretty good...however, I had to ask for new lettuce (for my egg rolls) because there were 2 baby cockroaches on it. The lettuce came back rinsed off and still had a bug on it which I noticed right before taking a bite. I don't mind it being cleaned off but it still had a bug... From there I didn't trust anything. Once we got new lettuce they never checked in on us again. Saw a server drop menus on the floor then put them on a clean table which is kinda gross too. I prefer the Granada Hills location. They're friendly there and they always have good food without bugs :)

Don't drink the water they bring to the table, tastes like dirty pipe water. The pho is tho

This is my go-to place for pho! It's usually packed, so I always order take-out. They pack everything really well - separate containers for the noodles and broth, generous bag of bean sprouts, basil, jalapenos, and lime, and hoisin and sriracha sauce packets. I like the chicken pho. It's perfect for cold days. When they're busy, they may not get to the phone, so I'll have to call a few times to get through, but my order is always ready in 15 minutes. Parking is free in the shared lot with 99 Ranch.

Dont order the egg rolls if you like daikon and never order the #88 charbroiled beef and rice period. These 2 dishes used to be my go-to but now both dishes are terrible. For the egg roll order they no longer serve daikon with it and when i asked for daikon they said they dont have any. For the #88 beef and rice the beef is now flavorless and extra oily and they dont even give you enough beef to justify the price increase of the plate. The rice served is old. There were several hard rice grains meaning they dont give you fresh cooked rice at all. Will never come back here ever again.

This place is big, nice, clean. This place actually has some of the best pho I've tried ( i have only tried maybe 5 places so far ). I love ordering their spring rolls on the side. I recently tried their brisket pho (i normally order chicken) and it was so tasty, much better than i had expected. My favorite thing is to order to go- my order is ready to go and on the way home in less than 10 minutes!

The location in Encino is by FAR better than this location. I had to ask for menus after waiting for about 9 minutes to be serviced..such an unpleasant experience as soon as we sat down.. I was very hungry so I just brushed it off. I ordered a charbroiled beef and fried rice plate, the waiter brought me dry cold beef minutes later in a small plate... I asked what that was for and they told me the rice and veggies will be done soon.. are you serious? They brought out the meat in a separate tiny plate to sit on the table for about 10 minutes until the fried rice and veggies were done??? Why? The meal should come as one in one plate. That was so ridiculous and I have never seen such careless service.

Pho So 1 is honestly, just as good as the great pho in SJ. Its authentic. And I love that everyone else knows it too, not just Vietnamese/Asian people. There was a wait at 3PM on a Saturday (which shows that its popular). Service is slow, but you know you aint here for the service. You here for the food. We ordered 2 bowls of Pho. I ordered the Avocodo Smoothie (would not reccomend), and the Special Combo Pho, which I always get. Would recommend the Pho. The broth is authentic, and it kinda tastes like theres no MSG? I liked that I didn't need to drink a lot of water with my pho. We also got the Vietnamese Coffee as well as Eggrolls. The Eggrolls are different! They're chunky and thicker than normal eggrolls. Comes with Pickles and Carrots. Its worth trying.

Their pho broth is really flavorful and authentic, and they are generous with their portions. I dine here weekly in the winter. Service is quick and the ambiance is extremely casual. You get up to pay the bill at the counter once you're finished. Dangerously, there is boba at Ding Tea right next door after you finish your meal. Don't get takeout though, it just does not hit the spot because the broth is cold and I find their portions to be smaller.

The pho was very tasty and staff were very accommodating. I just wish they sold bahn mi. Still pretty delicious.

In the mood for pho? Definitely give this spot a try. I've eaten here a few times and I really love their pho. Although they have a variety of options, I usually get the same thing: #19 filet mignon pho and an order of their fried egg rolls. The broth is so full flavor and the bowls are filled with so many noodles. The pho is definitely plentiful, so have an appetite. The egg rolls are great - crunchy with a juicy filling. Things to keep in mind: the restaurant is located in a very busy plaza. There is a lot of parking space, but expect some traffic in and out. The restaurant is usually busy, but if you're lucky you won't have to wait in line. Because they're so busy, expect to wait so don't come if you're in a rush. I will say: line or not, the food it worth it.

about $12/bowl pho. Good reliable place for pho with soup noodle, vermicelli, rice plate options. I got the #15 and the portion was sizable, almost the size of my head. They do shrimp very well - cooked for a short time and a nice spring to the meat. Pho broth was not my favorite, but reliable and still good. You pay at the counter at the end of your meal and they will provide to go containers upon request. Busy when we got there around Sat 1 PM, but we were still seated, served, and out of there promptly.

This is a great place to stop by after grocery shopping at 99 Ranch next door! The prices are great and they have a pretty extensive menu. We stopped by for a late lunch on a weekday and there was surprisingly still a bit of a wait to be seated. The food comes out fast but if you need anything else it can be a bit difficult finding someone to stop and help you out, so try to order everything in one go if possible. It's a fast-paced environment, so try not to get too thrown off by the customer service. There is a parking lot but it can get pretty busy depending on the time of day.

Egg rolls was good, don't get me wrong. We ask for 2 orders and they put 10 rolls in 1 plate with only 2 lettuce. Wtf. We ordered 2 fried rice. It looks like it was cooked in 1 pan and when they split it into 2 plates it was not a lot. For 14.25, not work it. Either the cook that was preparing the food was lazy or doesn't know how to calculate right. Service was bull*** and crap. They served us 10 egg rolls with no small plates for us so we can separate what we are eating. I had to ask for the small plates and the jerk didn't think it was necessary. This lazy idiots are stacked in the corner on their cellphones instead of servicing the customers. Half way through no one is close enough that we can ask to refill our waters coz they are too busy looking on their cell phones!!! Useless!

Coming from a Vietnamese person from the Bay Area, the pho here is mediocre at best. As I'm eating, I'm wondering more and more if it taste like pho or not. If you're not an avid pho lover like me, you would probably like this spot as their portions were good. However, the pho broth is not deep or flavorful. I don't really taste the dried herbs or beefy flavor in the soup. Their rice dishes were slightly better, but not special. Overall, I would say it's a decent place for a quick lunch, but their food isn't memorable.

So glad I made the trek from Westwood to the SFV and stopped by at Pho So 1. There's a saying that a pho place isn't good unless they have a number in their name, and I was definitely impressed with the authenticity and high quality of the pho I tried here. The quality of their meat is definitely on point, and I love how they give you generous portions of both fresh rice noodles and complimentary basil, lime, and bean sprout toppings with each order. Each bowl is $12.75 (which is absolutely insane compared to LA prices), and the food comes out super quickly and efficiently. I did find the broth a bit more on the less flavorful side, but overall, MSG-free and much better than anything I can find in West LA. Highly recommend checking them out if you're in the area!

Came here on a Sunday around 1 pm because we were at 99 ranch market and spirit Halloween. There was a small line but it seemed to be moving quickly. Make sure to put your name and party size on the notepad hanging on the wall when you walk in. There were about 5 parties ahead of us but we didn't end up having to wait long, maybe 10-15 minutes. I ordered the fried egg rolls (#97 ~$10) and the rare steak pho (#19 ~$13). My boyfriend ordered a pho and an avocado smoothie. The smoothie was delicious, you could really taste the avocado in it! It was also subtly sweet. The fried egg rolls were absolutely delicious! Super crispy on the outside but slightly chewy deeper in, I think it was fried in rice paper. The meat was juicy and there were some wood ear mushrooms too. It was great dipped in the provided sauce and eaten with the lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and radish (which I also dipped in the sauce because I prefer the carrots and radish to be slightly pickled and not raw). Would definitely get this again. The pho was delicious, the soup was savory and flavorful. They give you the classic veggies on the side. However, the size of the bowl was a bit smaller than what I expected and that meant not as much broth, which is my favorite part! You can get another bowl of broth for $3. I may not get pho next time but maybe one of their vermicelli or rice dishes! The fried egg rolls definitely would get again. Overall a good experience, quick and friendly service and flavorful delicious food!

The chicken Pho (#22) was delicious, fresh, and hearty, I've been back twice in one week, and the service is prompt and friendly. The ambiance is casual and open with a large variety on the menu to select from.

Damn this place was so good. I love a good pho fix with my girlfriend. We came on a busy Sunday during its midday lunch rush. We waited outside after adding ourselves to the waitlist form found inside. After about 15 minutes of waiting we were called in, sat, and catered to quickly. Their menu is very extensive and fairly priced! We ordered some egg rolls, two bowls of pho and an avocado smoothie. We only waited about 5-10 minutes for our order to come out. It was steamy, stacked with fresh veggies, and so tasty. Despite it being a full house I think our service was great once we were seated. I liked their serving sizes on all the items we ordered. My girlfriend and I both had food leftover to take home. Great spot for pho with quick service!

I was feeling under the weather and wanted a nice bowl of hot pho, and, honestly, I did NOT expect this place to be as amazing as it was. Sure the reviews are great but personally, I'm not the biggest fan of pho simply because it's always been a bit bland and mild in flavor to me. I placed a phone order for "asap" pick up and arrived maybe 15 minutes later to my lunch packed and ready to go. The woman working the cash register was friendly, attentive, and moved quick to get orders going. I ordered the #15 pho along with the #51 Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong ( Heo Hoac Bo ) which are fried spring rolls. They looked good online and something I had never had before so I had to get them. Total for the two came to about $27. The pho was delicious! The broth was so rich, vibrant, and full of herbs and spices. The noodles were soft, the meats were tender and juicy, while all the provided fresh herbs and veggies were, well, fresh! They offered a great crunch and taste. The spring rolls were also delicious - fried perfectly for a great brown crunch and crispiness while the meat inside was juicy. I feel the plate as a whole was a bit of a waste because the rolls were sitting on a huge pile of noodles with veggies hidden underneath. It was nice to have extra noodles for the pho but it was still way too much to finish even across two days of eating. I'll definitely recommend this place

The food taste great. I love the fried egg rolls. The pho is such a big portion so hard to finish. Whenever I have gone to this place the service is always so fast. It only takes a couple minutes to get your food out. The place is very clean and welcoming. They have a bathroom as well that is kept really clean. My favorite pho spot to go to for sure.

Huge portions! Dependable service and food. Great neighborhood spot. Broth is good! Makes for a good Sunday to have an early lunch then head next door to Ranch 99 for the week's groceries.

Great Vietnamese restaurant. Can't believe it took me so long to have had a meal here. I frequent 99 ranch market, ding tea and Sam Woo Chinese restaurant which are all nextdoor. Always wanted to try Pho So 1 and finally did. I was so surprised on how good the food was here. This is true Vietnamese cuisine. Came here with my kids and this is what we went with: #24 beef stew with noodle added a baguette which was off the hinges hittin switches in the lowlow on Lorenzo's BANGIN!!!! SO SAVORY AND DELISCIOUS. I compared it to the beef stew from Mama Hongs and truly it made Mama Hongs beef stew look like Amateur hour even though Mama Hongs is pretty good. I really couldn't believe how good the soup was. The meat was tender and the soup was just fanfuckintastic. #69 fried chicken with red rice was off the hinges. I love that it was cooked straight up deep fried without any breading. It was off the hinges hittin switches. #94 shrimp fresh rolls no pork. Def an app everyone should get. Also had the Pho with raw beef which was a winner as well fasho. Not as good as the beef stew but still very savory and very fresh tasting. The kids loved the noodles in the soup especially the noodles in the beef stew. The service wasn't great to be honest. Our waters were never refilled and the table was never serviced which sucked. Waiters were very straight and to the point. Very no non[sense what do you want attitude. For the prices they charge I was fine with the service. The Restaurant overall was clean. Half of our order came out very quickly and the other half came out within a reasonable amount of time. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Probably the best Vietnamese meal I have had in a long time. Looking forward to going back.

Very fast service I ordered pho and it came out in 5 minutes or so. The food was super cheap! You can't find any other cuisine (except maybe typical HK Chinese) that are this cheap. Wonderful food and price. I will always come back

Pho is good but not number one. Comfort food for a cold day. Mu daughter lives the spring rolls and the peanut sauce was better before. Bit we still go often.

The food overall was really good. Service could be better though. We got seated, ordered, food came out super fast. We got our pho and had to wait forever to get the toppings (basil, bean sprouts, lime, etc...). Our pho was cold by the time it finally arrived. No one came around to refill water. Not the best system.

Food comes out fast and plentiful. Very busy place, walk in and write your name on the board! Servers and bussers move around quickly. Great pho broth not overly anything! The cha Gio eggrolls were the biggest we ever had lol, very crunchy. Roast pork came with rice and pickled cabbage with a small veggie side. Overall solid food!
