"Austin is chock-full of Vietnamese options, so highlighting just a few is tough. However, this casual Cedar Park restaurant is wholly dedicated to serving quality dishes. The pho is always great, but make sure to try the bánh xèo (crepe-like stuffed rice pancakes) too. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor dine-in services." - Clara Wang

My wife and I come here regularly for their exceptional noodles. I'm partial to the soft egg noodles. They are made fresh, come out piping hot, and arrive to our table with a smile. We've had the same 3 servers here for years. It's nice seeing the same faces and they often know what we want to order before we do. They are pleasant, prompt and very efficient with drink refills and anything else we need. They are so accommodating I would ask them to help me rob a bank if that's something I ever decide to do. I don't think that's the case anywhere else we go out to eat. The noodles are the real star of the show here and the Pho is out-of-this-world fantastic! They have lots of other great dishes too. My wife loves the lemon grass chicken and the barbecue pork fried rice. The food comes out quickly, hot and consistently fantastic every time we go.

Decent food, great service, nice atmosphere, ok value. Limited options for vegetarians. Slightly more expensive than we expected. Nearly $90 for 4 entrees with no drinks with tips. Parking nearby can be a challenge on weekends. Noodle dishes tasted better than the curry. Fresh veggies was a nice touch across all dishes.

Updated: Visited April 3. Big difference. I had chicken bun, the lady has a rice dish. Both had the completely dried out and tasteless chicken. The chicken should not have been served given the reputation of this restaurant. Awkward moment. The lady would not let me return the food.... Delicious. Good presentation. Great value. Food was authentic and clean. We had two types of Bun and a crepe. All plates were clean when we left.

Pho Thanh Nhi is the place we decided this weekend. Since we arrived before noon, we got seated immediately. I decided to try Steak and Brisket Pho and an order of egg rolls. Food was served fairly quickly; after adding bean sprouts, basils, jalapeños and the lime juice into the soup, I mixed it up well, then letting the food to "hit" me with the first bite. 😅 I liked the chewiness of their noodles and how the broth was not too greasy; it was interesting to see red onion being used as I got used to either white or sweet onion in all the restaurants that I have visited all these years... I can't honestly say which one is better, it was just different. I also wish the amount of meat could have been more. Overall, I believe the Pho met our expectations.

We've eaten the pho with tofu often. It's homemade, consistently fresh and flavorful, and always served piping hot. Plus, exceptional service.

Google
We’ve been to Thanh Nhi restaurant regularly before and come back after awhile. In the past, the food was very good. We bought Bun Bo Hue, combination stir fried noodle and grilled pork rice plate. Bun Bo Hue and the noodle was tasty like before, but the grilled pork was so weird. The meat tasted old and feel like it was keeping in the fridge long time. They gave us a huge portion but we ended up have to throw the meat. So we think paying $15.50 for this dish is not worth it. We absolutely come back for Bun Bo Hue but not any dish related to grilled pork.

Google
the BEST Bun Bo Hue ive ever had! Their pho is great too but pls if you have not tried their BBH, i recommend you to give it a shot!!! their portions are generous, food is piping hot when served! staff is always friendly and he even know my order by now 😂 these pictures are all from different time bc i regularly come to eat&take out! i have ate countless times but thought i would finally leave a review. 1000/10 my fav Vietnamese restaurant 🫶🏻

We came here for lunch today, January 2nd. The food was really good and we received it pretty fast. The staff today was very friendly. I'm sure we will eat here again.

Yelp
Food is incredible. The owner is amazing and the vibe is chill. I can honestly say this is the best pho I've ever had. I get the fatty brisket and round steak. I think p7? Also their spring rolls are really really good as well! Sometime I indulge in a Vietnamese milk coffee!!! Love this place and well worth the drive for me!

Bobby H.

Yelp
Got the pork vermicelli bowl. Loved it. Fresh and a big portion. Don't fee like I just ate a cinder block. Definitely coming back when I'm in cedar park.

Abbigail S.

Yelp
The pho was amazing and great customer service. I'd definitely go back again when I visit Maryland.

Yelp
As a Vietnamese growing up in Vietnam, I would say its Pho is a fair representation of the Southern Pho. It is slightly sweeter than my liking but that's how they prepare it in the South of Vietnam so I'm still giving Pho Thanh Nhi 5 stars. The bowl is huge, plenty of meat with flavorful broth . Love their tendon, many places do not cook tendon well (chewy). Here, it's soft and melt in your mouth. Highly recommend adding bean sprout and basil to your bowl and ask for a smaller bowl to make your dipping sauce for the meat (hoisin sauce, siracha, some lime). Make sure you taste the broth first before adding any condiments. I usually like my Pho with lime and that's it. We haven't tried their banh mi but it looks gooddd, will ordering next time. The owners are very attentive. They noticed when didn't have enough lime and immediately brought out extra. Lowkey vibe, great for family lunch or a get-together with friends.

Greg L.

Yelp
Service was great and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the the grill ed pork sandwich and added a little hoisin sauce My wife had the pho noodle soup with all vegetables and it was also very delicious. Reasonable prices and very clean. Highly recommend.

Samuel C.

Yelp
Yelp gets it right. Four stars. * * * My tablemate, a Yelp Eliter in her own right, claims the pho is worth five stars or six stars. She may have a point. I just had the Vietnamese beef on rice. My lovely wife who also had non-pho says Pho Tranh Nhi is four and a half stars. * * * You can see the way the votes are coming in here. * * * Policy Implications: Pho Trang Nhi is a good place no matter what you order. But if you do go, order the pho.

Thu T.

Yelp
Very solid pho place in North Austin! I'm Vietnamese growing up in the South of Vietnam, so I'm super picky when it comes to pho in the US. Pho Thanh Nhi makes delicious pho, very true to the authenticity of pho in the Southern part of Vietnam. Most places have bland broth or too heavy on the seasoning or spices. A special bowl is $15.50 with lots of meat and it's HUGE! A great bowl of pho needs to extra condiments, except a few drops of lime juice, beans sprouts, basil, and a couple of jalapeño slices, which is the case here. The broth extracts all the flavors from beef bones and brisket, so you shouldn't need to add anything extra to it. Squeeze a few drops of lime juice and taste it - the broth is clear and full of flavor. If you love spicy sauce and hoisin sauce, squeeze it out on a separate plate and dip your beef in it. Don't squeeze it in the broth because it will ruin the real flavor of pho. Their banh mi is good but with little meat, a little small for the price, but flavor is really on point! It's a casual restaurant for a quick hearty lunch or dinner. Highly recommend Pho Thanh Nhi if you want to experience a great and authentic pho in Cedar Park area.

Lyla A.

Yelp
The food was not enjoyable. We consistently agreed that though it wasn't bad, it was the least enjoyed Vietnamese food we have had. The proteins were on the tougher side and they forgot one of our items. When I requested a refund (after getting home) they said they could not refund me and to come back. It was over $4 in toll and 30 mins from our home so I said no thank you. We will not return.

Minh N.

Yelp
The best phở in town Fried rice and crepes ( bánh xèo is also delicious) Highly recommend.

Ivo P.

Yelp
Food was great. Had pork spring rolls and shaken beef. Food came out pretty fast and it was great. Service was decent. Will definitely be back again next time I'm in town.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
We are heading out of Austin for a road trip and this was the perfect place to stop to grab to go Banh mi..... We will definitely be back to try the pho! A truly amazing place with awesome service. Truly felt like old Austin.

Bonsai B.

Yelp
This place is just okay nothing special or stands out ...prices are expensive, the employees are somewhat cordial. I never saw my waiter once he took my order.. so I did not tip. The food definitely looks better than it tastes. I'll probably keep looking for a Pho restaurant that really makes my mouth and brain satisfied. Probably my biggest complaint is: it seems they wanna rush you out .. wanting to grab your dishes off the table pretty quickly and give you the check when all you wanna do is chill for a short bit ...

Jane J.

Yelp
Clean, friendly, and fast!! Food was fantastic!! Tucked back in by the cinema.. this place is a must!!

Hannah L.

Yelp
I came here with my daughter and it was very nice. It is a bit of a smaller place, but still quaint and decently priced. Service was quick, but once you have food, it seemed a bit to get their attention. We also came during what seemed like a busy time and there were only two servers. Food was very yummy. They do, however, put all the fixings into the pho for you instead of letting you add your own, which I have never seen before. So if you don't like that, I would mention to see if they could allow you to do that! If you need a quick spot to stop and eat while you're in this area, I would recommend this place!

Bridgit S.

Yelp
My favorite pho spot I just stated working near by and have gotten it 4 times. I usually would try new spots but know it's so good and I crave it!

Lori H.

Yelp
I've been here before when it was another Vietnamese restaurant (I think), and had the pho, I did not remember so it must have not been memorable? Today I had the pork and egg roll noodle bowl for lunch and thought it was very good. The pork was tender, flavorful and the egg roll was a bonus although pricey however what hasn't increased in the past years. I'd definitely return to try other dishes

Madi M.

Yelp
Where are those 4 and 5 star reviews coming from? This place is overrated. I am not changing stars. Still the same. I happened to be in this area and my son wanted some soup. $15 for a bowl of beef pho and $15 for chicken noodle soup... it's a bit pricey. The chicken broth had an extra strong odor and flavor than what I'm used to. Amount of soup and ratio of meat in pho is definitely not worth the money. There was a lot of noodles and not a lot of meat. I know that food costs are high and restaurants cut corners to make profit, but still. Taste is the same: no taste, had to add some chili to better the flavor. Regretted that I picked this place after spending nearly $40 for a couple of bowls of noodles and broth.

Andria H.

Yelp
Vietnamese pho is something we end up craving a few times a month. However, we've tried several places in this area and haven't really found the ONE. Until Thanh Nhi! It's in 1890 Ranch which is a busy shopping center in Cedar Park but we've always found parking easily. You can order out or dine in. Service is very fast and friendly. We always get some spring rolls to start (the peanut sauce is so good!) and then some chicken pho and some steak/brisket pho. They give you all the fresh sprouts and herbs and veggies to add in, and don't forget the hoisin and spice to taste!

Dana H.

Yelp
We are giving up on our former favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The combination fried rice is still decent, but a plate of rice with almost no meat should not be $15.50. My husband is an average eater, but he was not full after the meal. Egg rolls and banh mi were good, again a bit pricey but not a ripoff like the rice. The servers here used to be so welcoming. Not anymore. We will go elsewhere, which makes me sad.

Zachary S.

Yelp
If I could give them 6 stars I would. Outstanding Banh Mi, outrageously good Bun Bo Hue. You need to check out Pho Thanh Nhi. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The food is consistently amazing and it is just a really nice little restaurant to grab a meal. One of my favorites in the greater Austin area.

OMaMori Y.

Yelp
Young lady works here how dare to snatch my menu that I was look at it. Rude place young not even apologize to me at all. Food was great because I am coming back but nah I don't like to having served by this young lady in store.

Jenn O.

Yelp
First off...Found this mom & pop pho joint by chance while looking for a decent place to hit that soupy-noodle craving. I am now an avid customer at this eatery. What more can I say...so far: - Everything has been delicious: Pho broth is key and they've nailed it - My entire family approves and that says a lot - Affordable - Super fast service - Vietnamese-style coffee: Strong enough to get you wired for the whole day, but also tastes great - Has Vietnamese che (dessert) - Hours: They were open early morning Day-After-Thanksgiving and could easily accommodate a group size of 10+ people: A huge plus for Asian families

Keven W.

Yelp
My wife wanted Vietnamese food so we ended up coming here which is near my brothers house. I ended up ordering the Grilled Pork Banh Mi for $8.50. For $8.50, I was really disappointed as it was really tiny like 6 inch. I usually expect something bigger like 10 inches or more. They look like they cut the sandwich is half, but charge the same. The meat itself was alright, but a little dry. Probably would not come back here again.

Chandrayee C.

Yelp
Stopped by twice for a quick lunch. One time was a takeaway. I got banh mi. The kid at the counter didn't know what he was doing and was just plain incompetent and uninterested. I got my sandwich after quite a wait. It was pretty good. I'd give them 3 if I had not gone back again, based on this experience. Went back again for lunch. This time I ate there. The Vietnamese man who showed me to my table and took my order was super nice and friendly. My food was there pretty quick and it was delicious!! The broth was so good! A giant portion so I got the rest to go. I'd definitely recommend them for pretty good Vietnamese food.

Jenny T.

Yelp
Fantastic! We'll be back. It's very popular. The place is full, but the service is great.

Rose N.

Yelp
Low key place to eat. I'd recommend for lunch because the food comes out quickly. Price is on the higher side, but I don't mind. Thai tea was great. I loved that they put it in a to go cup knowing their customers might not finish it. Banh mi chay (tofu banh mi) I liked it. It was simple. It has an authentic homemade butter that I love. The bread was crispy and toasted but soft in chewy on the inside. Banh xeo with shrimp. So I've never ordered this in a restaurant because they usually NEVER offer it. I've only ever had my moms, which is thin like a crepe. The one they make is large like bigger than a ruler, and thick. It's filled with bean sprouts, onions, and meat of your choice. I was very shocked to see 10 big pieces of whole shrimp. My mom only puts like 2-3. Since it's not so widely known, this is how you eat it: Imagine the lettuce is a tortilla, and put the banh xeo and other veggies in the lettuce, dip in the fish sauce, eat like taco. So gooooood. So there were 2 waitress/waiters. I left a $20 tip for my waitress, but paid the guy. I immediately saw him give it to her. (It warmed my heart because When I was a waitress, another waitress was given my tip and kept it. My regular told me and we had to sort it out.) especially now since everyone's been hit hard by the pandemic. 5/5 for food 10/5 for honesty

Rehab G.

Yelp
I really enjoy their pho and banh mi. Service can be a hit or miss. Their Thai tea is also wonderful.

Bowie L.

Yelp
Decent pho place with good business and friendly service. The broth was a little mild for my taste but the ingredients were fresh. I just expected more from a relatively expensive bowl of pho and the broth didn't have me slurping down the bowl but I also have pretty high standards.

Mary A.

Yelp
I'd consider this a hole in the wall Vietnamese place in Cedar Park. Very delicious! The egg rolls are crispy, the meat is seasoned perfectly and nice portions are served. Ordering takeout is quick and easy. Call it in and it's usually ready in 15 minutes or less. Highly recommend the vermicelli bowl with egg rolls. It's one of our favorites!

Avery C.

Yelp
If I could give this place more stars I would. I've been coming to this restaurant for almost 4 years, and I absolutely love it. I'm a huge foodie and I love Pho. Hands down the best Vietnamese place I've ever been to. I moved to Arizona 2 years ago, and when ever I come to visit I always come eat at least once before returning home. The vibe is so cozy and welcoming. The staff is wonderful. And the FOOD IS AMAZING. I always get an iced coffee, Grilled pork spring rolls and the rare steak, brisket pho. The broth is rich but light and refreshing. Please try this place out,It deserves more hype and great reviews!! It is one of my favorite restaurants and I live in phoenix Arizona now!!

Swapna B.

Yelp
Excellent food and ambiance. Had the chicken soup pho and pad Thai. Very delicious! Don't order extra spicy unless you can really tolerate it! Service could have been a little more attentive after we got the order but overall good service too.

David T.

Yelp
Food was good, had the vermicelli and some shrimp spring rolls. No complaints. Service was good. Place was clean. I will definitely be back. Can't wait to try the Bahn Mi.

Jayne P.

Yelp
Great broth and portion of the brisket and tendons! Look forward to coming back with my family.

Marissa T.

Yelp
Hidden in the corner and construction this place is a hard to find! Parking in this shopping center can be a lot better, but that's another story. I was grocery shopping across the street and had the sudden craving for soup! The portions here are huge and super tasty! I can never get a picture of the food because I unfortunately make groceries hungry like a noob. My go to are the egg rolls (THE BEST! So much flavor) and their combo pho, give it a try!

SpeakT L.

Yelp
Yum, yum, yum! I can't describe it any better. And before you dress up your Pho, sip the broth first. You're welcome!

Pax S.

Yelp
Discovered this place on accident, really, but we really wanted to eat pho with the recent cold front. We sat down and received our waters quickly and ordered. I got the spicy beef and pork pho, my friend got the traditional pho, and my other friend got a banh mi. The bean sprouts and basil were fresh but my pho was lacking something. I believe it was the broth. I added a lot of sriracha to make it bearable but was sort of disappointed in the quality of the meat and noodles.

Christina H.

Yelp
Finding authentic Vietnamese restaurants in Cedar Park is the new wave. The broth in the pho was amazing, so homey and flavorful. The noodles are perfect, not over or undercooked. Will definitely return to try other dishes!

Scott T.

Yelp
This is your classic neighborhood Viet cafe - good homemade classics: pho, banh mi, banh xeo. It's a great meal that hits home, with above average food and at a great value in price. I'd give it a 4.5 bc they do everything well from apps to the jelly drinks (chè). It's a good go-to for authentic Vietnamese food. Food is sometimes elite, sometimes average, but always a great value and little to no wait.

FoodieJulie S.

Yelp
Great pho place in Cedar park! Google and Apple map will take you to the front of the plaza but the restaurant is in the back of the plaza and near the movie theatre.

Connor A.

Yelp
As a Vietnamese person, this place is disappointing and borderline upsetting. If the prices weren't so high, my review would reflect differently. They're charging Manhattan prices for mediocre food. The spring rolls were pretty basic with no real herb flavor. The pork inside was a thin sheet. I came here for some pho, but looking at the tables around me, it didn't not appeal to me for $15 a bowl. Everyone that was leaving had hardly eaten any of the pho, even the meat. The only accompaniments I saw were bean sprouts and basil. I ended up ordering the combo banh mi and an iced coffee. I love a strong Vietnamese coffee, but this one just tasted burnt more than anything. The banh mi had good bread and meats, but I really missed the pickled veggies. Carrots and daikon are so cheap, yet we only got a pinch of each. I would not recommend this place with their exorbitant prices.

Cynthia H.

Yelp
First time for us at this eatery.... I had tendon Pho bowl, it was excellent! Service very good! Clean & attractive! YAY! Husband had chicken Banh Mi - good taste, crunchy, veggies (yes) BUT about one forkful chopped up left over chicken pieces...$8.50 not worth it at all - BOO! ** We went to in-out after leaving so Texan husband could eat something more than just crunchy bread with a few veggies. Pho prices in line with other diners... but again Pho was very good - Banh Mi no! Servers were pleasant, talkative & attentive! If we go there again he will NOT order an $8.50 empty sandwich... that's fer sure!

Darren C.

Yelp
Yum! My girlfriend and I came here before our flight out of Austin. She ordered bun bo hue and I got the rare steak and brisket pho. The flavors of my beef pho were on point and had a generous amount of meat and noodles. I added in bean sprouts, lime juice, and basil into my bowl of noodles. So good on a cold day. The staff were very friendly as well!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Food is amazing been here about 4 times. Haven't had a dish I haven't liked. The bahn mi is top tier

Heather D.

Yelp
This place was a disaster in terms of food and service. I'm extremely disappointed and almost wanted to walk out twice. Lunch time here and ordered a Bàn Mí and I was served weird looking lunch meat. I've had those sandwiches so many times at other places and get cooked sautéed meat, not thin slices of deli meat. I ordered black coffee, got milk coffee, asked for the correct one and it wasn't brought back nor were simple waters even given to us. Finally by the end of the meal we asked for the Vietnamese coffee and it was finally given to us with a water for my kid after we ate. Slow service, wrong orders.... Only giving two stars because my husbands Pho wasn't terrible. Also the prices changed so don't be fooled by that online (and i can actually understand that due to inflation but update online please). Also no steamed pork bun as anymore so don't go there looking for that :( I'm sorry to leave such an awful review as I know running a business is tough (I have my own, but not restaurant) but I need the owner to know this truth. This place is not great at all, please make improvements for others.... However I will NEVER return here again. Looking for the best Vietnamese food? Go to China Town center off N Lamar and look for Vietnamese food there! Some of the best Authentic Ban Mi there!

A V.

Yelp
Dried out chicken. High volume of food that is not fresh or thoughtfully prepared. In April 2023, I ordered takeout. I was the only one in the restaurant around 11:15 for lunch which was a warning signal. My takeout dish came out in less than 6 minutes. The chicken must have been leftover from the previous night or cooked earlier today and left to dry. Good location. The fact that no other customer entered the restaurant when I was there was a signal. I won't go back again.

Sandy O.

Yelp
This is our family go-to place for Pho! In addition, we order the Bahn mi sandwich and are never disappointed. Services is always attentive and kind.

K T.

Yelp
The meat was too salty and the veggies were wilted.... the service was poor! Wasn't too impressed with the looks of the place either.

Courtney B.

Yelp
I came in today, 1/7/2020 for a quick bite with my son. I ordered the shrimp Pho and for those of you don't know... yes, there are still some you out there who do not know what this is (yes, you over there under that rock). Pho, pronounced 'fuh', is a Vietnamese specialty that features a subtly sweet and aromatic broth, rice noodles and fresh, vibrant garnishes including lime and jalapeño. In homes across Vietnam, pho broth simmers for hours on the stove-top with beef bones, spices and herbs. Shrimp Pho is so light and refreshing you can enjoy it in any season. Now past the food lesson-- while I enjoyed my Pho, I felt that the dish tasted a bit salty. Generally this type of taste is found in low-quality restaurant versions of Pho which tend to be high in saturated fat and sodium. Yikes! My sons dish had a bit too much rice noodles and not enough meat for either of our liking, but the meat that was included was tasty and well marinated. In general, this establishment has a fair price-point and decent food and is worth a try.

Amber G.

Yelp
This place saved us after school yesterday! We were starving and decided to try a new to us place. We got the pad Thai and my little one and I were happy customers. The lemonade tastes fresh and more like limeade but it's delicious. Not sure if it was the time we went in but our food came out so fast which we were thankful for. Would like to go back to try their Vietnamese food but as far as our first try, it was a good one!

Omar M.

Yelp
If it were closer to home we'd most certainly be coming back. Friendly staff, fast service, good food. My wife ordered their Bun Bo Hue and my kids the Pho Tai Chin. We also got a couple of appetizers which were fresh and very satisfying. The place was pretty busy for late lunch. We arrived after 1:30 on a Sunday afternoon and more and more customers continued to arrive.
