This place is amazing! Just passing through Portland on a weekend road trip - but we will definitely be back! I had the chicken and vegetable curry over rice - spices were on point and the sweet potatoes melted in your mouth. The atmosphere was humble yet elegant. My husband and I could actually carry on a conversation without having to yell over the music or rowdy teenagers at the next table. 10/10. Highly recommend!

Google
A modern take on Vietnamese cuisine, with a premium price. Very attentive staff and attractive atmosphere. I had the pork and eggrolls, overall the dish was leaning bland.

Google
Came by and the place wasn’t busy on a Saturday Beef pho was decent although seemed a little overstated . Tofu vegetable fresh spring roll was fresh and tasty, peanut dip sauce was delicious

Google
Best bowl of Beef Pho that I have had! My wife had the Lemongrass Chicken over noodles, which she loved. The staff was friendly and courteous. The food came out quickly. Can't wait to come back!!

Google
The pho soup tastes great! I really recommend this place if you’re around the west side of downtown Portland. Not only is the food good, but the staff are also really friendly and kind to everyone. Watching them work like that honestly made me happy :) I hope you can visit if you ever stop by west Portland downtown!

Google
Their bread is phenomenal. Very friendly staff. Fair pricing. I'll be back.

Google
Me and my friends get pho van fresh all the time and it’s our favorite spot. Everyone who works there is extremely nice and considerate and the food always HITS. The music does too.

Google
The pho noodles are great, the texture of noodle is a bit different from many other pho restaurants, which I like it a lot. The garlic sauce gives a unique taste of sweet and spicy to the wings. However, they make a mistake on my order, so I have to wait for 15 min. That's the reason I give 4 stars, but the food itself is really nice.

Yelp
This place offers good pho, as well as a variety of other dishes, in a pleasant urban atmosphere. It's an order & sit, as opposed to table service, restaurant.

Yelp
No photos. We placed an order for delivery after a long train ride. We order varies of dishes to share. Some items were not shareable quantities. The appetizer duck, chicken and papaya salad with beef and noodles. We didn't get the Brussels as ordered. It was filling however would love to try another time to make this experience pop. It order was easy using the online app and the delivery was quick and the food was still warm.

Yelp
I had food twice in this awesome restaurant in Portland, very close to Portland Union Amtrak station. The first time was on Saturday, October 26th 2024 and the second time was last Saturday, February 1st 2025. Both times, I had an hour before my train back to Seattle, and I ordered the same things - Eggplant Bahn Mi sandwich, and a Cucumber Cilantro Margarita. It was simply delicious and lovely! I was attended by this awesome gentleman in the store - Kaiden. The sandwich was tasty, gooey, and very good. The margarita was strong and brought a big smile on my face. Thankfully, I wasn't driving back. The next time that I visit Portland, I am going to throw in one more trip to this place. I promised Kaiden that I will write a review, and I am not going to miss it this time around.

Yelp
Really good pho. Cool interior. Friendly service. My only complaint is after I scarf down my Pho I always want to take a nap. And my bed is on the other side of the river. A+!

Yelp
The main place to go in the pearl for Vietnamese food. Food is decent. I like their bahn mi. Got the beef pho - there was a piece of plastic in my food. Looked like part of a wrapper. Owner offered to make a new one but I had already eaten a bunch
google avatar

Yelp
This place is amazing. Found it after a sandwich shop had sold out. It was so comforting and everything I wanted. Food came out quick and it was a nice quiet day to have lunch. Though, I wasn't suspecting the short rib pho to have a dinosaur sized bone, it was still delicious and I'm still thinking of it. Wish I lived in pdx to get more

Yelp
I'm Vietnamese and DO NOT RECOMMEND. If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered takeout here and the soup container wasn't even filled, it was not even enough soup to cover my noodles in a bowl. No big deal, I came back and just let them know what happened and the cashier with beanie told me they would charge me for extra soup. Absurd, the takeout container with the soup wasnt even half full, he even acknowledged that I probably got less than usual but refused to rectify this. The broth is the most important part of the dish and insanely cheap, trust me I know because I make my own pho. Lost a customer who lives down the street and will never ever recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
The Pineapple Mojito cocktail was tasty. Enjoyed the Crispy Catfish Banh Mi, I wish it was offered as a rice dish. And the crispy egg rolls were a cut above the norm in size and taste. Price points are higher as the menu is a bit elevated as is the area. Friendly and quick service.

Yelp
I came here for PHO & PHO only! I am so disappointed. I came here today for work lunch and I ordered the beef pho for $16.97. I taste the broth first before I add anything on and oh my not so good at all! What is this? My real question is who really made the broth!??? It is not flavor full at all I felt like I just sipped water and salt. Where is the cinnamon? Where are the aniseeds? Where is the beefy taste from beef bones? I don't really taste any of that. This is not even close to authentic pho. It's very mediocre for the price. If you open a restaurant I'm expecting authentic Vietnamese broth soup that's been cooking for hours to days and that broth has been simmering in beef bones for a long time. I don't even taste the beefy ness from the broth like I said I felt like I taste water and salt nothing about the soup was beefy or taste like it's been simmering in beef bones! If you're Vietnamese you know what I'm talking about and if you had real pho you really know what I'm talking about. I will not come back here for pho because it's not worth the price and the flavor is not it. You are not getting real pho broth here! I hope you know this pho is not poppin! Go to Pho Kim off 82nd or Pho Saigon Xua or V Restaurant & lounge off SE foster they got that bomb beef rib pho! Broth is amazing they know what they doing in the broth. When you eat pho you should know the broth has to be good to slurp!

Yelp
Decent spot for Vietnamese food and I actually enjoyed this place better than Butterfly Belly around the corner. I tried the bun with pork and egg rolls. The pork was tender and flavorful.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday afternoon, wasn't too busy. This place has an ordering counter. Food came out super fast. Had the vegetarian Salad Rolls and crispy rolls. The salad rolls, albeit simple, were so yummy. The tofu I think was fried so it had a great crunch and along with the freshness of the veggies it was light and yummy. The crispy rolls were also very enjoyable, and they weren't overly oily like some fried rolls can be. I would've liked to see more effortful vegetarian items on the menu but beggars can't be choosers!

Yelp
I stopped by Pho Van in the Pearl District in Portland a couple months ago. In terms of food, I tried their Pho with Beef. The pho felt quite hearty and it was interesting that they added pepper. Overall, I'd rate them 8/10
google avatar

Wendy T.

Yelp
To be honest- $11.50 for salad rolls is wild! Especially when the protein is this tiny portion. $11.50?!?! Wowwww. They were mediocre.

Leif D.

Yelp
After standing in line for a few minutes it was finally my turn to order. The man at the counter mumbled a question about if I was picking up an order without ever making eye contact or looking up. No "hi, welcome" or anything like it... and then walked away without taking my order. I walked out. I don't see a need to patronize businesses with rude staff.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the original Vietnamese staple eateries in town. Once a choice downtown location before everything began migrating to Pearl & Slab. Standard menu for quick ordering upon entering with self serve water & self bussing. Easy lunch for the walkable workforce. The pho ~ a lot of nudos and little meat. If you want to warm up by sipping, make sure to ask for less noodles/more broth and to make it extra temperature hot otherwise you will settle for just warm. A bit pricey compared to the joints in the northeast but it is downtown. The regular annoyance are individuals who will take up a large table all for themselves. This is not a coffee shop to sit and camp with your laptop. They still have your own squeezable bottles of Sriracha & plum oyster sauce at every table ;)

Yelp
Excellent fresh Vietnamese selections. Very filling with a punch of flavors. We both enjoyed the pork and crispy roll bowl. Absolutely deeeelisious Quick service, great ambience excellent wait staff. Informal setting as you order at the cashier stand and they quickly bring your food. No cash accepted. Very yummy!

Ashley G.

Yelp
I love me some pho! The employees were very nice! Very attentive and kind. The only reason why I took a star off was the price! $16 for a bowl of pho is already pricy, but then it's $4 to add tripe, $4 to add meatballs & $4 to add tendon. That was a little too much in my opinion but the portions were decent. The banh mi sandwhich was delicious! Cleanliness of the restaurant is good as well and the atmosphere was nice. Would recommend! It'd be cool if they changed it to a $10 upgrade for all three add ins instead of $4 for each added meat.
google avatar

Thuy Dan T.

Yelp
Oof $14 for a regular beef pho with only the slice pieces and an extra $4 each for all other types of meats? We were coming from SoCal so we were taken aback at first. We were craving pho, so we decided to stay. The broth was good, a little too much noodles and not much meat at all. If you wanted the dac biet, you'd be pushing over $20 for a bowl of pho. I give them a plus that they did give a side of herbs to add to the bowl. I wish the broth had a little more depth to it, but it was pretty clear. The real winner of the meal was the Green Thai Tea. It was refreshing and a perfect blend of green tea and milk.

Lilysgma A.

Yelp
This was my first time in. There were 5 of us and we all ordered something different. I had the catfish Bahn mi and it was 5 star! My friends had the eggplant Bahn mi, a green curry dish, a chicken bowl and a noodle dish. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. Atmosphere great. Prices normal for Thr Pearl. I'll be back!
google avatar

Leah T.

Yelp
Cat fish banh-mi goes crazy! Love the cucumbers carrots and fresh dill, the sauce on it is bomb I like to pair it with a Thai iced tea. Great easy lunch
google avatar

Crystal L.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place because it is so close. I got the chicken pho and it was eh. Nothing special. The broth is bland. The chicken was really tender and tasty! But I won't be back. It's just so so pho.
google avatar

Yelp
Came on a Wednesday at 5:30-6:30p There was no wait, but it did get a bit more busy as we were leaving @6:30ish. Food came out at reasonable time. SUPER RECOMMEND: the pork belly buns. I'm a huge sucker for melt-in-your-mouth savory things and... this pork belly... can't go wrong. The pho was also decent! :) Service was good! Came during pandemic (not sure if it was like this before) and you order in the front, pay, get a number and sit down and they bring your order to you. We walked to this establishment so we didn't have to deal with parking. But there are parking garages in the area, it'll just be a small walk depending on where.
google avatar

Keely N.

Yelp
Make sure to order the vegetarian fried spring roll with the vermicelli tofu bowl. The ginger sauce was yummy with the noodle bowl. Great take out system too.
google avatar

Niki H.

Yelp
Amazing! Did take out and the food was impeccable! The eggplant bahn mi sandwich was so amazing i craved more when i finished not because there wasn't enough but because it was so good. I love eggplant but when prepared wrong it is terrible and this was prepared beautifully. Also had the veggie pho which had so much food - plentiful fillings and delicious broth. The crispy rolls were great as well - tasty. I wished I lived closer!
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Does anyone remember when this used to be Silk Restaurant? A sit down restaurant with table service. I miss that experience. This here....felt like a....like a food hall, which I guess is okay if that's what you're looking for. The food was good, but not real flavorful. I had to keep dipping the chicken in the sauce for flavor. Why is it so hard to find amazing Vietnamese food?
google avatar

Claudia C.

Yelp
They have fresh pho and it's full of taste and flavor and the service is good as well mush try spot when in the peral district
google avatar

Miranda D.

Yelp
Deceiving from the outside, pho van fresh is a cozy corner with some of the best Vietnamese cuisine the Pearl has to offer. I've gone a dozen times and both the takeout and delivery are superb. However, I love dining in, sharing a few apps with friends, and enjoying the tasty sauces. Some of my favorites are the Buddha Ramen, the tofu pho, salad rolls, and the dumplings. I've never had a bad dish. It's a little pricey but the portions and flavors are worth it.

Nikita R.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite spot for chicken pho, truly soul food. I could eat here every day if it was possible. Duck buns, papaya salad, shrimp rolls, everything. I've had pho all over the world, it's one of my favorite foods. I have yet to find a spot that makes better chicken. Plus, everyone there is so kind, vibe is nice, it's hands down one of our favorite restaurants in Portland.

Yelp
Ate here today for my lunch break from the office. Had the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork and spring roll. Food was fine, restaurant was clean and good ambience. Service was good, although you order and pay before being seated. Maybe I'm getting old, but find it difficult to pay $16.50 for lunch (with water) that I remember paying less than $10 less than 10 years ago.

L A.

Yelp
I have been a patron of Pho Van since they first opened. I've been to all the Pho Van locations, and love their food. NOT THIS LOCATION. The food they put in front of me should never have been served. Lemongrass chicken bowl with noodles. The chicken was dried out and burnt to a crisp, black and charred. It's really hard to cook dark chicken meat until it's dried out. The noodles were mushy, like they'd been sitting around for at least a full day. The "sangria" was made with wine so old it was turning. Undrinkable. The service was non-existent. I placed my order at the counter and aside from delivering BURNT chicken over mushy noodles, the waiter didn't return one single time. What an absolute disgrace to Pho Van. I'm not that picky about things being just right. I was hungry
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
Excellent food!!!! We ordered many things but the fried tofu, banh mi pork, spring rolls were outstanding. The service was also very attentive
google avatar

Francois P.

Yelp
Best good darn banh mi I have had. 3 ways pork was outstanding Bread was great Thank you

Yelp
I go to this place because it's close to my school. It's a fast place to go to when you're on a lunch break. The food comes quick and there is large tables for many people to sit at. I like their ramen it's yummy. I had their vegan ramen and it was yummy but I wish they don't serve it with plastic spoons, even though they reuse them because I can taste the plastic taste to it when I eat the soup. Other then that it was a good place. They give you huge portions that are very generous. I like that they serve cocktails here as well because it just makes the place a lot more appealing. If you need a quick place to eat that will give you big portions and can sit a large group this is it. I will be coming back regularly while I'm going to school in Portland.
google avatar

Garth E.

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was friendly and very attentive. Nice place to eat in the Pearl District which is a great place. Totally walkable, light vehicular traffic, all kinds of good food places and bars, and best bookstore I've ever been to, Powell's.
google avatar

Yelp
Really needed pho to cure my dizziness from my flight and saw they served Oxtail Pho, great! Asked for extra fish sauce and the guy told me that they don't have it. I said that I'm pretty sure you do, since it is quintessential in Vietnamese cuisine but the young gentleman who took my order didn't appreciate that and sorta threw the receipt and pen on the table then walked away. I worked in restaurants half my life, if you don't have something, go and find out! If you don't have it, then communicate it to you customers and perhaps offer something else. Pretty rude. Got the food, walked back to the hotel and I got soy sauce and NO SPOON. How the hell do I eat soup without it?! Ahhh Good oxtail, but service needs improvement.

Yelp
Visited a few weeks ago. Two doors means glow of traffics entry/exiting for physical distancing. Inside and outdoor seating available. Ordered two #1s beef pho. It's a bit pricey but you certainly get a very healthy portion of noodles and meat - not just two slices as other places may do. This was the perfect post-hike meal where we'd been rained on. Incredibly friendly staff especially given the amount of stress I imagine is being felt during this pandemic. My only recommendation is to create a smaller bowl/size option (like half the size) so that people who don't have as large appetites can have an option that doesn't break the bank nor leave leftovers.

Aldah M.

Yelp
the chicken pho was in a translucent white broth instead of chicken. adding little container of seasoning didn't help. 3 way pork banh mi had very little meat. not a lot of veggies. bread was dry. very disappointing. will not order from here again. order was late. may have been fault of driver.
google avatar

Steve B.

Yelp
I look down at the bowl of Ox Tail Pho and see the reflection of my soul in the broth. It is so delicious. No sriracha, no hoisin. Just broth, ox tail and the normal accoutrements. My only complaint is the price. Ox tail is cheap, but this Pho is priced at a premium. The salad roll may be the best in Portland. Perfect proportions. We sit, quietly eating our meal which is a sure sign it is delicious. This place is a must if you are in the Pearl. Fantastic choice for First Thursday art walk.
google avatar

Humsini V.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I got the pho vegetarian and vegetarian salad rolls to share with my mom. Both were great and fresh. Made me happy they actually had a vegetarian broth. The only thing was I felt like it was a bit pricey, and the pho had a lot of noodles and not we many veggies as I would have liked.
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
I live dangerously close to this place. My go to is the lemongrass chicken bowl with jasmine or brown rice. The combination is super flavorful and the chicken melts in your mouth. I also love the salad rolls, ribs, dumplings and their Pho. Food is always fresh and service super friendly. Check them out!

Christina G.

Yelp
The food is okay, but the service isn't, 30 minutes passed and nothing came out so I went up to ask when my meal would be ready. In those 30 minutes nobody came to check on me, they just kept serving others. Wish I didn't pay $17 for this.

Rodney M.

Yelp
Excellent food! Fresh, noodles perfect. Crispy rolls, #11 is the best Service is good. Servers always attentive

Yelp
This was our first meal after having landed into Portland and just having checked in to our hotel just a block away. My first impression was, cool place!....have always loved these urban industrial conversions turned into cool modern designed restaurants or stores, so was pretty impressed by the interior decor and ambiance. It was already a little past the normal lunch hour, but the place still had a pretty decent crowd, so not only was there not much of line to place our order at the front counter, it was easy to find a nice open table by the window. We really had a craving for the fried crispy rolls, but thought it'd be too much to order a separate dish, so went ahead and ordered the Lemongrass Chicken Bowl with noodles (choice of noodles, jasmine rice, or brown rice)....which normally already comes with the pork rolls, but we asked to have it substituted with chicken rolls instead.....just to try something different. Besides the bowl, we thought the Lemongrass Banh Mi sandwich sounded good so went with that. After placing our order at the counter, we paid, were given a number to place on the table, and went to find a seat. My girlfriend and I were very impressed with the quality of the food and service here.....the servers were very friendly and attentive. I really can't find anything bad to say about the food.....the lemongrass chicken was grilled well, tasted delicious, and went so well with just a controlled splash of fish sauce. And those chicken rolls...wonderful crisp with the authentic rice wrapper.....not the Chinese egg roll type.... .yummee good! The Banh Mi sandwich was also very good.....loved the French bread that had a perfect outer crunch and soft fluffy inside.....the chicken again, grilled to delicious perfection......Yummee again! This place serves up solid Vietnamese food.....food prep is quick, service is friendly and helpful.....nice modern ad casual ambiance. Will definitely be back the next time we are visiting Portland.

Yelp
Immediately walking in this place felt like it would be an average Asian fusion place, but the food was surprisingly good. The beef pho had a really good broth with a deep flavor without tasting artificial. The lemongrass chicken with vermicelli noodles was good too! Great flavor from the lemongrass without any of the little pieces of lemongrass. My only issue was some pieces of the chicken were tougher than others as if they were cut differently (with vs against the fibers). Overall this was good, and I want to try the other Pho Van that is supposed to have even more options!
google avatar

Yelp
When you are in The Pearl and seeking a fast, fresh, healthy and satisfying bite to eat, without spending a fortune, this place never disappoints. The setting is super casual with booths, tables and counter seating options. Menu works for all with Vegan and gluten-free options. Meals are prepared fresh and arrive quickly. Last time we were here our table had the crispy pork and shrimp rolls to start. We had two orders since there are just 2 rolls per order. Crisp, tasty, with enough filling that you actually taste the meat and shrimp inside! My gluten-free friend had Pho Beef (comes with rice noodles) served piping hot, lots of beef, and the traditional side of sprouts, jalapeño and basil. I had the Wonton soup that came with 2 wontons and a generous helping of egg noodles; the both was delicious as were the noodles. I always add the hot sauce giving it a kick! The other item chosen was the Crazy noodles - sautéed chicken with rice noodles and veggies. This is our go-to-place when we are in the area shopping and want a fast, healthy and satisfying lunch.
google avatar

Peter A.

Yelp
FANTASTIC! I had the pork belly bun to start and it was amazing. Had the chicken lemon grass bowl over white rice and boy was that delicious. I'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Joon H.

Yelp
Firstly, I apologize for disappearing for two years during the COVID times. Pho Van Fresh is hands down, my personal favorite. Basically what you'll experience is a dilemma of wether or not you should get the whole menu at once, or come back regularly to get different lineups of your favorite things! The crispy chicken rolls are to die for. The duck buns are to die for; and while your already dying of euphoria, the beef pho will finish the job!
google avatar

Tom J.

Yelp
Everything we tried (spring rolls, beef pho, chicken wings and bahn mi) was delicious but the bahn stole the show. Probably the best sandwich I've had in years.
google avatar

Mike M.

Yelp
Stepped in while craving some Vietnamese and they did not disappoint! Super flavorful and fresh. I got the lemongrass pork vermicelli w crispy rolls and it was perfection. I usually try to save some leftovers but inhaled the dish. Will be back again !
