"Pho Vi Van, found in an unassuming space in an East Vancouver strip mall, consistently serves a wide range of fragrant pho. Pho Vi Van’s vegetarian pho comes with a rich and complex broth filled with rice noodles, puffy fried tofu, shiitake mushrooms, and a rainbow of crisp vegetables. Other highlights include a spicy bún bò Huế — thick swirls of rice noodles and tender meat in a luscious broth — and a comforting egg noodle soup with plump pork wontons." - Rachel Pinsky

"A big bowl of pho gives young food explorers a chance to savor complex flavors and aromas. There are also fresh herbs, lime juice, and sauces for junior chefs to add to the broth. This East Vancouver spot is casual but feels lush with its potted bamboo plants and soothing koi pond. Pho Vi Van offers kid-sized servings of noodle soup for smaller appetites." - Rachel Pinsky

This place is a hidden gem here in Fishers Landing with excellent service, and a delicious assortment of Vietnamese dishes! I enjoyed their Pho Ga Soup ( Chicken ) my favorite, with Thai basil and bean sprouts. Also an order of vegetable egg rolls, ( two large portions). They have comfortable booths or tables, and can accommodate a group of customers. Will certainly be back!

Google
A friend brought me here for dinner. Food: 4/5 - we ordered the tofu spring roll, pho beef noodles and rice vermicelli with spring egg roll, grilled chicken and grilled shrimp. Also had the bubble tea. We each had a coconut bubble tea with tapioca pearls and strawberry & blueberry bubble tea with tapioca pearls. Both drinks were more like a slushy cold milk drink that was tasty. We both enjoyed our meals in large portions. Atmosphere: 4/5 - nice vibe to the place which was clean. Service: 4/5 - our server was great, asking us if we needed anything. It didn’t take long for our food to arrive. The place is located in a small plaza where there is plenty of free parking out front. I would come here again. It’s my friend’s favorite place for tasty pho!

Google

Google
I ordered the bo bun hue soup and my husband got the beef pho it was delicious!!! Enjoyed every bite! Staff is friendly. Wish atmosphere was a little better. Definitely need to try this place!!! Excellent 👍

Google
My favorite pho spot in Vancouver. This location stays fairly busy (good sign), but the service is still quick! The quality of the food is consistently delicious and the service is great. The atmosphere here is better than any other pho place I have experienced in the PDX area.

Google
Overall I would have to say I will be coming back this was Authentic Pho as well as there must try Pad Tai if you dare ask for it spicy but I do warn you, your insides will burn but very delicious. I recommend if it's your first time trying Pho. Service was rather great. Very attentive and accommodating. My wife highly recommended the Thai tea, a bit pricey but worth every penny.

Google
You will never leave hungry or disappointed! This is our go-to Pho restaurant. The staff are so friendly. The service is fast. The menu offers an excellent selection, and best of all, the food is delicious! Two large soups, appetizer, wine and limeade = $40

Google
Overall good. I bought the bahn mi with tofu and a Vietnamese iced coffee, this was 14$. The older Vietnamese guy at the register was very nice and helpful. The sandwich was excellent and had plenty of sauce, which is great, because a dry sandwich is the worst. They put the sliced jalapenos on the side, so you don't have to dig them out if you don't like spicy. The iced coffee was super strong, which is great, but was too sweet for my liking, I still drank it but next time will ask for less sugar. Will come back and try the pho soup next time.

Yelp
Pho Vi Van is a local staple in Vancouver. The food is always fresh and delicious, the service is prompt and friendly, and you can always expect a happy crown of people during the lunch and dinner rush. The ambiance always feels very welcoming and I'm happy to be a long time patron. Craving hot soup for these winter months in the PNW? I highly recommend you stop by!

Angela C.

Yelp
Gluten and dairy free review: We love this Pho (veggie and beef). It's definitely gluten and dairy free. The fried rice is yummy and gluten and dairy free. I also had the beef Pho which I forgot to snap a photo of. Very good! You can have a noodle, fish sauce, veggie bowl as well but it's not on the menu. You'll have to ask. One of our fave places.

Trish L.

Yelp
I'm here with my family quite often. My nephew always gets C3- round steak pho. It's great- the broth is so flavorful. I like to try a variety of things so I've also had the pad Thai, stir fry vegetables, spring rolls, and some other tastes of assorted dishes the rest of my family orders. The jasmine tea is one of my favorites. The Thai tea is refreshing on a hot day. Service is great here. Everything comes out really quickly. The servers will come by with menus as soon as you sit down and they watch to see when you're ready to give your order. Very attentive without being overbearing. Once you're done, you can get your own to go containers at the service desk where you also pay. The self service aspects are really nice so you're never waiting on staff for anything. It's a little small with comfortable booths, which are good for 4, but not great for large groups. There may be other pho places around, but I don't care because I only want to come back to Pho Vi Ván!

Natasha H.

Yelp
We have only tried the bbq pork bahn mis here and they are outstanding! So easy to order by phone and come pickup. The sandos are loaded with meat, pate, pickled veggies, cilantro, and jalapeño (on the side). Just fabulous! Need to come to dine in and try their pho. Highly recommend for bahn mi!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Since moving back here a couple years ago, I've only been to 2 locations for Pho. The first one sucked. Friends recommend Pho Vi Van and its been my 'go to' place ever since. Service is a hit or miss when you go in. Damn, now I want some Pho! I always get their steak pho, but need extra basil, lime and sprouts. :)

Stacy S.

Yelp
We've tried several of their dishes and they are all fantastic - including the lemongrass chicken banh mi, tofu banh mi, satay chicken noodles, satay tofu noodles, medium rare round steak pho, tofu pho...highly recommend this place! It's our favorite pho spot in town hands down!

Deo C.

Yelp
Came back to this place in a long time, back then Then service was ok I walked in tonight and the waiter saw me walking in but he was talking to the other co-worker and let me stand there for like 30 seconds...then told me just sit anywhere, set a glass of water then walked away...2 minutes later came back and like "are you ready to order"? I said I'll get a p1 and he didn't even ask me for the bowl size and just walk away like that...i didn't even have a chance to ask for other stuff i wanted Terrible just terrible never again!!! Will not recommended to friends or family members to eat here!

Gary P.

Yelp
We've been eating here for years and consider one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver. Always have great service, available tables, and fantastic food. The pho, banh mi, and vermicelli dishes are always fresh and tasty. The satay noodles are my wife's favorite, and I'm a traditional pho guy, although bun bo hue is right up there. Parking is not a problem, and the entrance is easy for those in wheelchairs. We haven't seen or experienced some of the issues others have mentioned in the comments. Very satisfied customers here.

Lynell F.

Yelp
Food was amazingly fresh and take out for ten people went flawless thank you.! The boxes were packed to perfection

Otty T.

Yelp
The pho broth was good but the large bowl was not large and very little meat . The banh mi sandwich is great

Chuck H.

Yelp
Fantastic consistantly good Pho broth no matter which Pho you order. We dine here at least once a week mainly because it's so consistantly good. We've never had a bad dish. Service is so friendly.

Peggy L.

Yelp
I love coming by here - it's my now go-to for Bun Bo Hue since Pho 777 got a bit too oily for me. It's in my hood and the service is wonderful! I had an issue at work and had to get on wifi and they're so helpful and I didn't feel rushed at all. I like their pho as well - the only reason not for the 5 stars is their banh mi's could be better.

Naomi P.

Yelp
Salad roll meat smelled and tasted bad. Grilled pork and rice taste/quality is very low. Will not be going back.

John S.

Yelp
Try the satay soup! Amazing! Whenever I feel a cold coming on I order this soup. Get it with the egg noodles

Tim B.

Yelp
Great Pho, great service in a comfortable, clean space. Definitely recommend. We have the meatball and chicken Pho. Broth is clear and delicious. Also had the chicken curry soup served with a side of white rice. This was also very good.

A M.

Yelp
We go to Phi Vi Van pretty frequently as a family and can always rely on the food always being good and getting to the table fast.

Brittany H.

Yelp
I have had their food twice. Once was in the place and the other to go. I will say to go was disappointing but I think Pho is just so much better piping hot. During our time there the restaurant was clean and the service was great. Everyone was very kind. I loved their menu as the places I normally go don't have chicken pho but that is what my fiance likes best. Their prices were overall on par for what I have been seeing at Pho restaurants these day. The food came out fast and was piping hot. Broth had amazing favor and I would highly recommend them.

Laura H.

Yelp
Ordered food for take out. The food was delicious...we ordered tofu pho and I suggest adding veggies because if we hadn't added bok choy or mushrooms there would have been no veggies other then the usual toppings

Joe Z.

Yelp
Something changed??? We been going to Vi Van for 6-7 years now and always get the Pho with the Bún bò Huế (spicy soup) broth. Must of changed cooks, because today it was for the first time it was watered down, bland and tasteless. We will go back and try once more, in case today was just an off day.

Del K.

Yelp
Forgot to take photos last time. We went again yesterday and I made sure to snap a few photos before we dove in.

Cynthia S.

Yelp
Always great. I love the spicy pho soup with peanut. My son loves the vermicelli bowls

Emma C.

Yelp
P3 Medium Rare steak pho is some of the best broth I've had in a long time. So authentic and cozy, you'll never want to finish the bowl! The portions are also great and pretty large!

Somony C.

Yelp
I'd say it's OK the food's good the only thing I want to say that you really need to work on your service because once we got here we had to wait...I'd say 10 minutes or so and we didn't even get the menu or anything at all and people just came in, they got menu & water. It pissed me off ..never go back again

Megan H.

Yelp
We have been coming to this place for awhile now. Yesterday we stopped in for just a bit of food - light lunch if you will. We've had several of their items and all are truly delicious! We stopped in and got the lemongrass pork banh mi and the stir fry beef banh mi. Both are delicious with the perfect seasoning and sauce ratio. Prices have gone up a bit in recent months but still highly worth it. We highly recommend going if you're in the area. Their pho and vermicelli bowls are fantastic too.

Bryan K.

Yelp
9/2021: As time has gone on the service and food has started to struggle. While the food is still decent, it doesn't have the fresh touch it once had. The service is absolutely gone and completely missing now. You're going to get seated and wait a long time before you even get talked to again. I don't know what it is about Pho Restaurants in Vancouver but service at just about every single one has become hot garbage every time I have visited. Am I cursed?? It's not like they're busy when I come either... Shockingly, this place is still better than some of the other pho restaurants aren't here.

India V.

Yelp
This will always be my go to pho restaurant. The food is always delicious. They have the best pho broth that I've tried. I always take all of my friends here, but I gave it four stars because the last time I was here the server brought us menus, but then it took about 15 minutes to bring us our water and take our orders.

Mazen G.

Yelp
Food was great and service was even better. We came in for lunch with friends and kids, and they delivered. Options for everyone and even made sure they accommodated picky kids! Will definitely be coming back for their pho!

Drake F.

Yelp
Great food and kind service, the portions are nice for the price! I will definitely make this a frequent stop

Stephen K.

Yelp
Pho Vi Van is a great place, and was my first time at a Vietnamese restaurant. Fast service, albeit a tad inattentive, great quality food, and a wide selection. I and my daughter jumped at the opportunity to dine in, and we had a great time. All of the ingredients were very fresh, perfectly seasoned, expertly cooked, and tasty! I was particularly impressed with the wontons being hand-made. I was also very impressed that they served two individual dishes of dipping sauce with the wontons, presumably to maximize safety in these COVID-19 times. All staff were wearing masks, and social distancing is strictly enforced, which is extremely appreciated. I'm really looking forward to my next visit

Nathan R.

Yelp
Went here and was meet with exceptional service ! Food came out quick and was amazing ! Definitely coming back!

Tricia S.

Yelp
Was out looking for a quick bite and found Pho Vi Van ... I called in my order so I didn't have to wait around. The food is priced right - $8.50 for the bahn mi. I wasn't a huge fan as I was looking for roasted pork but mistakenly ordered BBQ pork. The avocado shake hit the spot and I've been back just for another one. It's a $5 drink but it's creamy and smooth and not overly sweet. I had been trying to find a good avocado shake for a while and I'll be back for more.

Amy Z.

Yelp
We ordered two banh mi - one is the banh mi sac biet and the other lemongrass pork. I'm so glad I finally found a spot that does great pate! Both were very tasty and packed with protein. The bread was also the perfect combo of crunch and softness. Definitely very impressed and will come back and try their pho. Highly recommend their banh mi!

Spicy P.

Yelp
We opted to stop here after a search in the area, specifically for Banh Mi sandwiches. There were several contenders in the immediate locale but we were impressed with the reviews on this one. Small shop located inside a standard strip mall. The restaurant is average size, and was fairly quiet Sunday afternoon. A young guy at the counter greeted us right away and he was friendly and super sweet; helpful with recommendations and patient whilst we decided. Their Banh Mi selection offers all the classics, including the original Special Banh Mi (Banh Mi Dac Biet). We had the Special, the BBQ Pork and Pulled Pork. They take their time making their sandwiches unlike many Banh Mi shops that literally throw one together in 2 minutes time - here, we waited about 15 minutes for 3 banh mi. They were all very good. Fillings of classic banh mi veggies and very good bread. We really enjoyed all of them but were most surprised by the Pulled Pork! We had anticipated typical pulled pork which can be dry, but theirs was moist and tender and delicious. Our only gripe (and kind of a significant one in our book) was the portion size. While yummy, these were tiny as far as banh mi are concerned. Traditionally and typically, they should be served on a hero-sized bread, but these were like hoagie-sized and I mean ... 6 inches, versus 10-12 inches. ESP at the very full prices they're charging, we were definitely bummed about how little we got to enjoy them. This is probably the reason we wouldn't opt to visit again. (But again, to be fair, they are pretty good.)

Dylan J.

Yelp
OMG this place is so delicious. I will definitely be back to this place. The service was great. Just overall a amazing and delicious experience Bun Bo Hue

Taylor B.

Yelp
Wow! This place is amazing!!!!! I could eat it every day if my wife let me Prices have been raised a decent amount over the years, but it's worth it!!

Joe Z.

Yelp
I have been going to this place for last several years and food and service always have been great. Last week had gone with wife and restaurant was crowded so that was no doubt service was slow, although seems like service has been getting slower this past year. The Bun Bo Hue Pho tasted as though broth was diluted and amt of noodles was very minimal. Hoping the return to past service and quality next time we visit.

Yelp
Travelling between the States of Oregon & Washington the last few days, wanted to have a hot bowl of Pho as the weather cooled down to warm our souls. After searching on Yelp, found this lovely little Pho shop in Vancouver, WA. The place is nicely decorated and has a warm feeling, especially the booth tables, the bamboo partition give diners a bit of privacy. Ordered two bowls of noodle soups: The House Special Pho: Very rich beef broth! With immense depth, spice and sweetness are well balanced. Pho was cooked to perfection and has a nice bounce to it! Bun Bo Hue: Spicy, rich, filled with lemon grass fragrance, the beef shank slices are cooked just to the right consistency, the only thing that's missing from most of the BBH nowadays are the Pig's Trotters & the Pork's Blood to make it authentic, but I guess it has to adjust to the wider audiences' taste and I am beginning to get used to that trend now Oh, the noodles are slightly over cooked here hope they will take note of that. Overall, still a very solid bowl of BBH! As I always say, when travelling in the States, it's almost impossible to find any towns without a Pho shop now, and their standards are pretty good too and some are even outstanding!

Maleigha K.

Yelp
The best comfort food. Personal top items- Bahn Mi, Pho, Egg rolls, spring or salad rolls, avocado milkshake! We will come here days in a row! Highly recommend. I have never ordered something from here I didn't like! The staff is ALWAYYYYYYSSSS so genuine and helpful. The best vibes at Pho Vi Van.

Sky J.

Yelp
Very tasty food! Super fresh! I ordered an appetizer of veggie salad rolls and it was two big salad rolls cut in two. Very delicious! Loved the peanut sauce too. For my main I got vermicelli noodles with grilled shrimp. Amazing! It came with a huge bowl of noodles with fresh veggies, including bean sprouts, cucumbers, carrots and ground peanuts. Came with a side of vinegar sesame kind of sauce? It was really good when poured over the noodles. The grilled shrimp came on bamboo skewers and there were three shrimps on each, so a total of six. They were extremely flavorful and well made. Everything was great. I don't have anything bad to say. I just wish you guys had Vietnamese tea. I'm a big tea fan and I would love to try that. I did notice Vietnamese coffee on the menu but no authentic Vietnamese tea! Perhaps something to consider for the future?

M M.

Yelp
Lousy service from the nonchalant young man who was dragging his feet there and trying to act cool. Told me an entire section I preferred sitting in was closed. Fair enough. But then the next clients coming in where placed in that supposedly closed section ! Get your act together my friend. And brought the bill when had barely started the meal. Message was eat and get out quickly. How welcoming. Unfortunate because the food was good.

Brian B.

Yelp
I placed and paid for a takeout order and when I arrived to the restaurant the staff (a young man and a young woman) suggested I might be at the wrong business because they didn't have my order, even though it was confirmed ready for pickup. I showed the order to the staff, they shrugged and said they must have given it to someone else. The young man then sauntered back to the kitchen to get my order started without much of any communication. I had to make it very clear that it would not be necessary because I would need a refund. The young man appeared completely unmotivated and spaced out, with seemingly no consideration for his job or the customers. The young woman acted as if she had seen a ghost. While waiting for my receipt to print, a customer walked in and the young man told the customer they could "have a seat at table 6" and waved his hand toward several tables. The customer was clearly confused and asked which table was table 6, to which the young man responded loudly "table 6!" and again waved his hand around without any clear indication as to where the customer was to be seated. I would call it my most unfortunate restaurant dining experience but I didn't even receive the food I paid for. I was refunded through DoorDash. The End.

Tashi C.

Yelp
Cashier/Server added Extra Tip to my check! --- I work in the service industry and always, always, always tip in cash to make sure management isn't taking a cut from their employees. Went in for Pho last week for lunch, service and food was medicore but I wanted to try this place since it had the best reviews in east Vancouver. I left a $3 tip in cash at the table and paid with my card for the meal at the register - $13.56. I always keep receipts since my card info has been stolen in the past and I track expenses. I check my card charge today on my phone and it's $16.95, which just so happens to be the max 25% tip option box on the receipt that I DID NOT select/authorize. I know it's just $3 but the principle here is that they're adding tips/charges AFTER customers have closed out. If they're doing that to customers regularly who aren't paying attention it adds up FAST. Again, as someone who works in the service industry that's a huge red flag, don't steal! And get the Pho out of here!

Lea G.

Yelp
I picked up some pho today for my family. It was ready when I arrived and they brought it right out to my car. When I got home the order was correct and everything was hot and tasty. I love their P7! Brisket and meatballs. Tasty meatballs! They did charge for the to go containers which I understand, they are good quality. If you're looking for a hot bowl of pho- to go, check out pho Vii Van. You will not be disappointed

Teena G.

Yelp
Food is ok but service is horrible. Servers are rude and customer service is non-existent in this place. I actually went twice willing to give them a chance but the 2nd time is much worst. A friend of mine also tried them and told me she is never coming back. No food is worth the bad treatment I got from them. Never coming back to this place. Taking my business somewhere else.

Kimberly P.

Yelp
I can rate this place on three dishes...their banh mi, their satay soup with shrimp and egg noodles, and their pho with rare steak. When you have visited a place more than a dozen times and the food and service are consistently REALLY GOOD, I'm down for a 5-star rating! The goldfish (mini koi pond) at the front of the restaurant are a nice touch. If you're fortunate enough to be seated next to them, they swim right up to the surface and look up at you...intelligent looks...seriously.

Demi R.

Yelp
Their pho is ok, nothing too special but their sandwiches are what sold me and earned them the 5 stars. It is just that good. Whatever garlic spread they put in the sandwich is so yummy

Linda D.

Yelp
I feel like there's always something wrong when I order take out here. Last time they forgot my veggies for my pho. Who eats pho without the veggies? This time I order the N1 with egg noodles but it came with rice noodles. I feel like they should slow down on their process when ordering. Reread the order and check if everything is packed. I checked if everything was there this time (aka the veggies I didn't get the last time). Since it is take out only I didn't know they messed up until I go to my destination and was ready to eat. I gave them 4 stars and changing it now to 3. They've messed up my order more then these last 2 reviews. Btw N1 is a bit too salty. I barely ate it.

Travis W.

Yelp
I like pho, quite a lot. I've had it all over the US, so I feel like I can be picky with it. Today was my first visit to Pho Vi Vân. It won't be my last. The interior is cozy, with wood, plants and a nice open feeling layout. The service was prompt despite being busy, and the food was quick. I ordered the special pho, large. I judge pho based on the special bowls mainly because they have the delicious but easy to mess up things like tendon and tripe. I also got salad rolls. The broth was very clean looking. The meat was tender, and the herbs very fresh. The flavors were delicate and the broth not too salty. I was very happy that they also had hot chili oil, one of my favorite additions. Overall a delightful experience. We will definitely be back. My next dish will have to be the Bun Bo Hue.

Donnie C.

Yelp
So delicious pho. It tastes original and reasonable price. The vermicelli noodles are also great and we all appreciate.
