The lady serving us is so sweet, she remembers me and my friends all the time we visit to come-They fill their food with love and generosity. I love how full the bowls are and how much stuff they put inside it as well. This place is truly one of a kind.

Google
Just an ordinary authentic Vietnam restaurant. Their pho is incredible and the crispy rice noodles are good. However, the quail was very under seasoned and bland. No flavor at all. Also, 3 pieces of ice in the water even though the building is so hot and the water isn’t already cold. When we asked for ice, she brought 1 small kid cup of ice. Then we asked again, and she gave 1 again even though there is a lot of people with iceless water cups at the table. They also do not have spring rolls which is disappointing and a first. Never seen a Vietnamese restaurant without spring rolls.

The most impressive and best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve gone to. I’m not Vietnamese, but have been exposed to a lot of Vietnamese food. I’ve tried their Pho, Mi Kho, Bun Rieu (special), Mi Bo Kho (special), and Bun Thit Nuong (this dish includes nem nuong and egg rolls). None of the dishes have been bad. Their prices are a little higher than others but the portions make up for it. I try to make it here weekly with the wife. Though a bit pretentious, I’ve heard a few patrons at other tables (during different visits) compare this restaurant to some of the best Viet food in California. Give this place a try!

Soo good! The service was fast and the food was fresh, hot, and authentic! Tried the chicken fried rice, beef pho and egg rolls. My husband ate the pho before I could take a picture, but it was his first time trying it and he said it was so flavorful and comforting. Very generous portions and the price was on point. We had enough for leftovers for two more nights. We will definitely be back!! We also got the Vietnamese coffee which was strong and sweet and delicious.

Went here for lunch and had a great experience! I ordered the crispy fried egg noodles — they were absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. The portion was generous and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend this spot if you're craving tasty Vietnamese food without breaking the bank!

If you don’t care about atmosphere and want great food and service - come here! I had number 14 which was a crispy noodle dish with various seafood and beef - it was excellent. The waitress was the cook’s wife and she was very patient with our group and suggested things to order.

Google
The menu is confusing. We ordered no. 29. Combination Fried Rice. It is next to a photo of fried rice and chicken. We were expecting the one in the photo. When it was served, it has shrimp and pork in fried rice. The person ordered it doesn't eat shrimp and pork at all. We talked to the manager who is also the server, we explained that none of us eat shrimp and pork. She said, we have to pay for it because we ordered it. I tried to explain our reasoning. She said, she doesn't mind if none if us eat it, we still need to pay for it. Because they already cooked it. So we paid for it and ordered the one in the picture. We are a group of 5 adults and 2 kids. I feel disappointed with that kind of service. I and my family will never go back to this restaurant. I lost faith, and the taste of all the food went dull. Not in our lifetime. So please when you order, you have to ask first what food you are ordering, so you won't get surprised.

Google
I craved for Special Rice all the time. Pho Xin Chao used to be Pho Mekong and they switched the owner. Still great taste even though it took a little time for the food to be served. So busy with take-out order. They need more staff lol. Great portion and intriguing taste. Dry Vermicelli with pork and seafood is the best one so far that I have had in the US. Love it!

Yelp
Omg I'm obsessed with this place! This is probably one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in Grand Rapids. First of all, it's woman-owned and the owner/cook is so friendly. They renovated the place so now there's beautiful artwork of different tasty dishes on the wall. My favorite thing to get from here is com suon chung which is rice with grilled pork chop, eggs, pickled veggies and lettuce. They always make the pork chop just right and the seasoning on it is amazing. My friend always goes for their pho and enjoys it every time. They have many different dishes to choose from so I'll definitely have to try something different next time.

Yelp
I was craving Vietnamese food, so I stopped by Pho Xin Chao to pick up dinner. I ordered the shrimp fried rice dish. It took a while to prepare, which allowed me to meet several members of the extended family and friends who work there. I appreciated the warmth of the Vietnamese hospitality and friendliness, even though most of them didn't speak English very well. When my food was ready, it came out hot and was well packaged, keeping warm for a long time. We ended up having three meals from it. The only downside was that they used packaged shrimp. I will be back.

Yelp
These are big servings, come hungry! We enjoy the fast service and delicious food. The veggies are always fresh and crispy. The soup is always hot, full of flavor and leaves us satisfied.

Yelp
The Pho is still the best in town. However, they never have fresh spring rolls which is just too bad! 95% of the time we've come, they do not have them!! Otherwise this would be 5 stars.

Erika S.

Yelp
Came in hoping to get a nice meal and relaxing vibe, we got our meal and have to listen to the servers kid cry the whole time, it was very annoying, couldnt enjoy my pricey meal because the kid was just crying his lungs out. I leave one star, wish I could leave 0 star. Horrible experience.

Yelp
Cute and clean inside. Small menu and the sweetest server. I ordered the mien noodle soup. Everything was cooked nicely. Softest squid I've ever eaten and even the thick pieces of xa xíu (pork) were soft too. The broth was hot and comforting. Generous portion of bean sprouts and freshly washed lettuce on the side. The bún chả giò (vermicelli with egg rolls) had great egg rolls; delicate, crispy outer shell and a soft, flavorful filling inside. The fish sauce tasted good and there was an overly generous scoop of peanuts on top. I would have preferred the pickled carrots and daikon cut up and drenched in the fish sauce. Overall, I could sense great care in the food prep and I will be a repeat customer. Note: CASH TIPS ONLY; no option to add onto your credit card charge. My server told me not to worry about tipping if I didn't have cash, but no way! She was excellent. Super sweet and attentive to details.

Yelp
After trying several Vietnamese restaurants in GR, THIS IS OUR FAVORITE! Had several times, and the pho is sooo good. Another bonus is that it seems to be owned by the sweetest family with great customer service. Couldn't recommend more highly.

Yelp
As a native New Yorker, who is also Vietnamese, one can imagine my surprise to find that the BEST VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT ever is in... Michigan. (My other fave in NYC is Madame Vo- check it out :)) But genuinely impressed and blown away by how unassuming this place is! An intimate place that doesn't feel rushed or loud or frenzied as any super-casual Vietnamese spots do. This place feels welcome. Nice vibe. Nice decor. Even the menu itself is nice. It says something about the owners when they pay attention to the entire experience. THEN THE FOOD ARRIVED. I got the grilled pork chops with rice topped with over-easy eggs that you drizzle the dipping sauce over- DELISH! My brother got the Hu Tieu Kho ... not a soup, but sautéed noodles with incredible flavor- a MUST TRY. And these maps came with a small bowl of onion/garlic soup? Everything was magnificent.. and each meal was just $15 each! If you've been to one Vietnamese restaurant, you've been to them all... but not this one. WOW. Well done, cant wait to return to try more of the menu!!

Yelp
So satisfying! Food here bursting with flavor... haven't tried the Goat Hot Pot yet but I had a large part of the menu.

Yelp
Ate here the other weekend with my family and the food was delicious that I was drinking the sauce off my plate! It reminded me of home which is what I was craving. I totally forgot to take a picture of my Mi Xao but I will be coming back!

Nancy B.

Yelp
Was probably the worst Vietnamese food ever. The bun dac biet was loaded with lettuce and had none of the herbs like cilantro and mint... veggies like carrots and daikon was non existent. The pork was all fat and the egg roll was soaking in grease. My noodle soup was just as bad. This is not a good place if you want Vietnamese food... move on. So disappointed since I love Vietnamese food and was craving it when I went in. I didn't even eat the fresh spring roll as they were again full of lettuce and no herbs. Lettuce is not considered an herb so stop using it so liberally.... It does not help. Terrible!!!

Yelp
This small family owned restaurant serves quality food. It is not gourmet, and while service is good, it does not conform to the mainstream ideal. It is honest home food. Also, each week on Thursdays and Fridays they have a different special dish. I enjoy eating their unpretentious, well cooked meals. Pho Xin Chao consistently makes flavorful and comforting dishes that can be enjoyed in a relaxing atmosphere.

Yelp
Food is so delicious! Tastes like a true home cooked meal!! Everything tastes so authentic and flavorful!

Yelp
The food and service were spectacular. Incredibly authentic. Spices on the side to add extra spice if needed. Absolutely a must-try in Grand Rapids.
