"Pho is in PhoBistreaux’s name, but banh mi are equally good at this sleek, inviting spot Uptown with a few additional locations outside New Orleans in Jefferson Parish. The generous menu covers all the banh mi basics: tofu, grilled shrimp, pork roll and pate, grilled pork, grilled beef, grilled chicken, and a combo." - Eater Staff, Clair Lorell

Steamed Buns changed my life!! Compared to other restaurants in the city and one even close by, these are by far the best. My wife and I had the beef brisket Pho and loved it! Can't wait to go back next time we are in town. I grew up in this neighborhood and I'm glad to see so many great restaurants in the area now. Update: 11/6/18 A couple of years ago my wife and I tried this place out, since it is very close to my dad’s house. It was the first time that either of us had tried Pho. Since that day, we have been going to any Vietnamese place we can find that has Pho. We always had the notion that PhoBistreaux had the best, but after a while we had tried so many new places, we weren’t sure. I’m glad to report that on our latest visit to see my dad, PhoBistreaux not only stacks up against everyone else, but they are still our favorite. I hate we only get to come a couple times a year, because if we lived closer, it would be a couple times a week for sure. On this visit, I had the Shrimp and Pork Belly “Sliders”. Which is just what they call their Bao Buns. My wife had the Brisket and Oxtail Pho. My wife loves Oxtail and so far, this has been the only time we’ve seen it in Pho. My Bao Buns were good, but not exactly how I remember them. I preferred the shrimp over the pork. We went twice while we were in New Orleans and on the second trip, by the recommendation from Dee, I tried the Beef Po’ Boy with a fried egg on top. The Po’ Boy is really more of a Banh Mi than it is a Po’ Boy, but being that both use a type of baguette, I guess calling it either is still correct. The Beef Po’ Boy was my favorite overall. It was so good and probably one of the best Banh Mi I’ve had. The fried egg wasn’t overpowering like I thought it would be and added even more flavor to an already awesome Po’ Boy. The food, the service, and the location were all a plus for us and we can’t speak highly enough about this place. My wife and I were kind of depressed as we passed by on our way out of town. I would recommend this place for sure. In what’s becoming an area crowded with restaurants, I still consider this place my favorite among them all. I’m counting the days down until our next visit.

I enjoyed eating at PHOBISTREAUX! This was the first time that my friend and I have ate Vietnamese food. I ordered the Pho Ga (Chicken noodle soup) with white meat. My friend ordered the Pho Bo (Beef noodle soup) with meatballs. We both enjoyed our pho. Our server was very welcoming and helped us decide which pho to order. I recommend eating at PHOBISTREAUX!

Second Time being here and also purchased the Vinh's special. This place makes good pho and is reopening. Thell have more egg rolls and other options in due time. They also have Sriracha for spicyness if pho is too bland. This store is off Carrolton and Oak so a well know New Orleans location

Ordered the egg roll vermicelli with shrimp, and the grilled chicken and rice with an egg roll for my daughter and, I for our Friday lunch (currently schooling and working remotely together every Friday). Everything was delicious. The egg rolls weren't my daughter's favorite, but I thoroughly enjoyed them. The veggies were very fresh and crisp. My daughter was very happy with her chicken and rice, she happily sat in silence eating. Another successful family lunch. Next time, we'll go in person for dine in service and cool drinks.

Great service. Faster service than I thought I'd be. Server was very nice! The grilled pork buns were very good! I also got the combination pho. Meatballs weren't great but brisket was delicious. The broth was very good as well.

I can’t wait to go back. Pho was delicious. Pork on soft bun with cilantro, carrots, ...my mouth is watering Just wishing I had some now! I have eaten there, and drove miles to pick up takeout. I will be taking friends and family there over and over. Staff are always nice and friendly.
