My husband took us for date night and this place was spectacular! If you were here for a good sit down, maybe hookah and laughs, and ofcourse - scrumptious food, this place won't disappoint, neither will the service. - It gets busy after 8pm. - This place is great for large groups too! - Service can be slow but the food is worth the wait! I saw many reviews with people being upset about the service. These guys don't rush you through your food experience and neither after you're done with food if you're lounging. I've experienced having to finish my sentence outside of the restaurant when hosts are in a rush to flip tables. Even on a Friday night and with so much crowd, what was happening around us didn't creep into our table. I loved that about this place! - Big shout out to our host Tony ❤️ He made us feel very comfortable throughout our 2.5 hour dining experience and he did throw in some complimentary salads that I enjoyed. - Their hookah was so smooth and worth the 45 dollars, hands down. FOOD: - Hummus took me back to Dubai! - Falafel was so crispy. It was so even after 20 minutes. The stuffing inside was not dry, you could have it without any dipping sauce. - FAROUJ AL FAHAM : Marinated chicken on charcoal grill - The star of the evening. Dig in, use your hands if you will .. Oh my, the perfect blend of spices and juiciness with garlic sauce, grilled tomatoes and rice. My suggestion, choose rice over their fries. Tony gave us the fries on the house any way. 😀 Hope you have a great time!

I’m not sure why the reviews for Phoenicia Restaurant are so terrible because my experience was genuinely good! The food was flavorful, the service was attentive, and the overall vibe was welcoming. One standout was Tony, the manager—he was awesome! He went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect and was so friendly that I couldn’t believe we were living in the same city. He truly elevated the entire experience. I also love that they offer both indoor and outdoor seating options, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred ambiance. The outdoor patio is especially nice if you’re in the mood for hookah, which they also offer—a great touch for a relaxing evening. If you’re craving Lebanese cuisine and want a spot with good food, great service, and a laid-back vibe, Phoenicia is worth giving a shot.

Unfortunately, my experience was terrible from the start. The employee, Basel, was intentionally making mistakes with the order and kept ignoring us. He was extremely unprofessional. The rest of the staff weren’t any better, and the overall service was slow and careless. The management is just as bad — clearly no supervision or interest in customer satisfaction. The food portions were very small, the prices were ridiculously high, and the whole experience was not worth it at all. I would never come back and absolutely do not recommend this place.

All the food was burnt and bad.a glass almost went in my hand. And the server threw the fork and knife at me and had diarrhea in the bread.

My daughter and I visited Phoenicia last Saturday night to celebrate her birthday. I chose this restaurant because I have been to Lebanon and absolutely LOVE the food and people!! We were not disappointed with the food - extensive menu, excellent presentation and value. We ordered the Mezze platter for two. We were seated inside and we were the only ones inside this very large dining venue (esp. for a Saturday night - but it may be because we arrived early). I would have tasted this restaurant 5/5 except for the lack of attentive service. After we were seated, we were forgotten about for a good while and even after our first platter was served, we tried and tried to attract the male waiter's attention to ask him if he could take our photo but we were ignored again.

It's a very nice restaurant, however that's all. Ordered the hummus and cucumber salad, which was $25.00 total. Food decent, but honestly, they gave me pita bread still in the grocery packaging. By the looks of the restaurant, I just expected more.

Terrible Experience – Oversold Tickets & No Space to Move! On February 25, my friends and I purchased tickets for what we believed would be a VIP concert experience—an evening of music, food, and dancing featuring a well-known Lebanese singer. We were beyond excited for a night of entertainment, expecting a well-organized event where we could enjoy dinner, drinks, and dancing to live music. However, from the moment we arrived, it was clear that this event was nothing like what was advertised. The banquet hall was dangerously overcrowded—worse than a packed sardine can. We were crammed elbow-to-elbow with no personal space whatsoever. Moving was nearly impossible; knocking over glasses was inevitable. Forget about getting to the bathroom or even standing up to dance—there was absolutely zero space. The waitstaff struggled to serve food due to the extreme crowding, and we barely received enough to eat. The lack of proper service and management was appalling—no one seemed to care about guest comfort or safety. This was beyond disorganized; it was a complete fire hazard due to overselling tickets. For $200 per person, this was an absolute scam. The owner should be held accountable for the reckless overcrowding and false advertising. This experience was a nightmare, and I wouldn’t step foot in this establishment again. If you value your safety, comfort, and money, stay far away!

Yelp
Lived in Glendale for 20 years and have never been here. Dropped by last night for dinner and they seemed to have an event there so the place was packed. This did not however affect the staff's performance and we were served appropriately The staff was a young man and an older gentleman. Both were very friendly and attentive over our needs. They even gave us a salad on the house for all the trouble/busyness of the place We ordered a greek salad, 2 diet cokes, a beef shawarma plate, a chicken shawarma plate, and a plate of hummus. When you are seated they bring you picked cabbage and olives along with hot oita breads. Our food arrived at a normal pace and it was good. Honestly not the best I have had but it's not bad either. Best was to put it is if I am hungry and near by il step in for dinner but I wouldn't go out if my way to get dinner here. Service 10/10, atmosphere 10/10 (vibes) food 7/10

Yelp
Great place for food, hookah, entertainment, family. The owner and managers are so great and make you feel special. It can get busy, but the food and atmosphere is worth it.

Yelp
Wonderful service and the best food you can find in this state they have outdoor and indoor sitting there's also very good hookah lounge under patio cover

Yelp
Honestly I'm very surprised by the reviews of this place. Before coming I was very very reluctant after seeing all the reviews but I believe they're a bit harsh. The food was really good and the hookah was probably the best one I've had at a lounge. The service was amazing and looking around, it appeared that others were receiving similar/same type of experience I was. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I was here for a new years dinner with work. The food was amazing and the environment was beautiful. I'm glad we went on the 30th on a Monday because I could see this is the type of place that gets full and for good reason! Like I said, the food was delicious. The only reason for the low stars is our server was so rude to no one except myself. There were multiple incidents so much that my coworkers also noticed it. I didn't do anything that I could think of. He also wouldn't check up on us or bring us water, we had to keep flagging him down. All the other staff was was lovely. Our server was an older gentleman who was bald and had the nastiest attitude. I had asked if he had prosecco and he said they had champagne but champagne is only from france and most places do not carry it. But if they did have it, I wouldn't order it since it's usually a very high priced ticket. He also wouldn't bring me a drink menu and when he changed my drink he didn't tell me. I mentioned it and he said, don't worry this is more expensive in a condescending tone, which was very rude. I hope he gets spoken to. Like I said the place is lovely, the food was delicious and it was an overall great experience aside from our servers indiscretions.

Yelp
It was nice. Food is good menu for four is good for at least five people if not, six. Valet parking because small parking. Very busy street but it becomes quiet after 8 PM if you're sitting outside and Saturday evening, there is a one-man show. He sings different languages. You can sit inside, outside or in the backyard . Good service and attentive to detail.

Yelp
We met friends last night at Phoenicia for Friendsgiving dinner. It was my first time here but everyone else has been here many times. First of all let me tell you why three stars..... customer service .. From the moment we walked in til we left I was shocked how bad the service was. How unfriendly and uncaring everyone was. Our waitress wouldn't even check on us after she took our order. We had to chase someone passing by to attend us Unbelievable. Slow ... unprofessional ...I can go on and on. As far as food we really enjoyed our dinner. The mezze platters were good. Fresh, flavorful and delicious. The hot dishes we got were well prepared. The fish was good and so were the kebabs ... we finished our dinner with an order of ashta and Armenian coffee...sooo good. The previous reviews are also about poor customer service. I didn't read them til I was writing my review.

Yelp
I go there almost twice a week! Their service is great everyone is so sweet! Food is amazing love their chicken Fatoush! The vibes and music there are always great! Can't wait till they bring another singer.

Yelp
One of my go-to spots would be here. They have one of the best middle Eastern cuisines. One of my favorite would be the fried fish and one of the best Shawarma, sandwiches we have ever had. The service is good: just be patient on their busy days. If you're ever looking for a smaller venue to throw a baby shower, bridal shower or even a birthday party with a large group, this would be a great location.
google avatar

Jouly K.

Yelp
I do NOT recommend this place at all. Food is terrible, service is even worse. Employees are horrible and got no respect or manners to anyone. They over booked this place for Lebanese singer Joseph Attiya and there was no room to dance not even walk straight line to restrooms. I give this place 0 out of 10 and I'll never ever stop a foot in there. Terrible

Yelp
Probable food poisoning. Our group of 14 family members spent a lot of money and a lot of time at Phoenicia on Monday 9/23/24. I regret choosing this place for our special family reunion meal. The restaurant came highly recommended by a family member as well as by 2 Glendale locals. Should have believed the past reviews. A few of us got very sick the day after, including my elderly mom, my husband, my son, my aunt, myself. We all ate different entrees. My combo kabob plate was delicious. Maybe the hummus was very bad or something else we ate? Such a disappointment to have this happen. I called and told the kind manager about food poisoning. He said that their refrigerators had recently been upgraded.

Vardan H.

Yelp
I don't know what's the problem, but this people don't like to help their customers hookah was amazing. The guy makes thebest hookah But Customer Service for the food and the drinks was horrible. We wait literally one hour to get a wine menu and half of the menu was missing and they keep saying open bar anything we order they said we don't have it. We wait literally hours and hours for food and drink no about this place the only good empty cops and plates fast service
google avatar

Shirra P.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. Their signature hummus is out of this world. Traditional Lebanese. We had chicken and beef kebab, the meat was very tender. Mezza was SO good. I forgot the names of the desserts, but they were so yummy. I came here based on a recommendation and to meet up with friends. Would return. I would say the customer service is spotty, depending on who you get. Parking is street parking which is easy.

Dima S.

Yelp
One of the best with every thing food hookah and the place is nice ..and best service Close to every one the location is perfect
google avatar

Alina A.

Yelp
Food is horrible, so is the service. Do yourself a favor and don't eat there. Worst restaurant I have ever been in Glendale.

Yasmin M.

Yelp
Food - 10 Atmosphere- 10 Service -0 The server biased, rude, and arrogant. The way he replies to questions is very rude, and the expressions he gives are unpleasant. I would definitely never go back there.

Yelp
One of the best places to have a taste of Lebanon in LA and can't forget the amazing staff and my personal favorite Susu the most caring and most loving ever!
google avatar

Aida Y.

Yelp
Great place to celebrate special events , food is amazing and waiters are very attentive . Highly recommend it !!!
google avatar

Arsen S.

Yelp
I love coming to Phoenicia. My friend and I have been coming here for the last 14 years. Love the quality of the food, love the welcoming staff. Our favorite server is Susu. Never have a bad time. Great for birthdays, business dinners and lunches or just a weekly catch up with friends over good food.

Yelp
My meal itself was pretty good, both the soup and potatoes had a really nice flavor. I'd even go on to say that the soup really hit the spot. I also tried a little bit of the house cabbage salad, which was alright. So no complaints regarding the food itself. However the service left something to be desired. There weren't too many seated guests but it felt like it took a long while for our servers to come by. The meals for their portions were a bit overpriced, even if the food was fine. Normally I'm not against paying a higher price for decent food if the experience is worth the money but neither the service nor the food presentation nor the general ambiance of the place itself really warranted the price tag. I probably won't be going there again unless there's some family occasion. P.S. the valet service isn't worth it. It's 12 dollars for someone to park your car in their parking lot, lol. Just take the extra time to go find parking, even if paid, before heading in.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! We enjoy celebrating events there and always have a good experience

Yelp
I love this place Just very good vibe Great food Great service Hookah is amazing Definitely recommend

Mike A.

Yelp
Can I give a NEGATIVE star on this? It'll be very well deserving. This place is anything but Lebanese food. I paid $105 for two people for a horrible lunch. Not to mention, I was charged 18% for a tip without my permission. Tabouli baba ghanouj was straight up garbage. The meat tasted old, especially the kafta skewer and what the heck is the dish in the picture attached, it tasted nasty. Also, the manager, I don't know his name, older guy with gray beard, pushy, was very persistent that I purchase the expensive appetizer platter $55. It was annoying to say the least. I'm Lebanese and there was nothing Lebanese or authentic about this food. It tasted like out of the can. The server was nice and respectful. This was my first and last time.. never again.

Yelp
Best Middle Eastern restaurant in Glendale! This place has great food and a large variety of dishes representing Lebanese cuisine. I love their fish selection and their hummus is hands down the best compared to all the restaurants in Glendale. A true gem for this area and I hope they continue to receive a positive reception.

Gary A.

Yelp
experienced a wonderful lunch at the Phoenicia . we enjoyed the vegetarian starter plate, all of the items were wonderful. We also shared a mixed entrée for lunch three different different types of Kebabs. All were.Very good. Our waiter Nova, was very pleasurable accommodating. I will definitely return for dinner. Recommend the restaurant without hesitation.Yes

Yelp
Had there chicken fattoush salad today and it was amazing. Also their mezzes are really yummy too. Service is good and attentive came by several times to make sure all was well. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and also serve hookah. Good spot to go chill and enjoy some good food.

Sam G.

Yelp
Super friendly staff, excellent service, consistently good food and the best outdoor patio dining in Glendale. Solid 5 stars.

TenderNest Childcare C.

Yelp
We planned spending new year eve there, we couldn't find any person helping we couldn't find a seat, the placed was crowded, the appetizers on the table not covered , looks like been there for a pretty long time. The ticket wasn't cheap $150/person without alcohol. You need to pay to the restaurant $20 for parking. One star is too much for them.

Martin Arthur N.

Yelp
One of the most unprofessional restaurants in the town and the food is disgusting and expensive.
google avatar

Aro H.

Yelp
Been a while since last visit. Appetizers are great but the meats could be better Service is not up to par. Vodka is too cheap (taste wise) might be back. Good thing is you can smoke your cigar at the table after the food. Still needs improvement.
google avatar

Michi S.

Yelp
I would have given this place a 4/5 stars Today is my 4th time here. And the times prior, we received pretty good service. However, today, I beg to differ. Our waiter, Tony, was not great. He neglected our table and catered to another table. We had to ask thrice to get our order. Very disappointed with our service: hookah was over an hour late and not good. The food was salty. But the service really was not good
google avatar

Lucy M.

Yelp
All I wanted was a good dessert. All i got was ashtah cream, where is the pistachio, the syrup? We placed an order for 2 $10 ashtah desserts. Waited over 20 minutes, after hearing them yell at each other in the kitchen about why no one has cared to package it to go for me. I get home and all I have is 2 containers of just the cream. I make ashtah at home, its a pre made dessert... literally no excuse for such a long wait. I've never in my life been so disappointed over dessert. The only positive about this place was the waiter, which I tipped because I know how hard they work.

Yelp
If this place were in Sherman Oaks it would dethrone Carnival. Food is outstanding with lots of well prepared, authentic specialties.

Nelli D.

Yelp
We had our work lunch event at Phoenicia, and it was wonderful. The staff was caring, courteous, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was cozy and private for our group of 60. All of our employees were excited that we hosted our work event there, and they were impressed with the food.

Yelp
Best shawarma in town hands down! Food is amazing. All of the staff is friendly and on top of it. Good vibes and good music make this place a must see!

Yelp

Yelp
I'm reviewing a few basic dishes and mezzes. I have to say I haven't been here in over 10 years as my Lebenese restaurant of choice is Carousel down the street. If you want consistent quality food...just go there. The plus side to Phoenicia is 100% the outdoor patio. It's located on the corner of Central & Lexington, nice plexiglass patio with huge beautiful umbrellas that provide ample shade and a nice European feel. At night rope lighting illuminates the surrounding palm trees. It's lovely! They offer hookah, they allow you to bring your own cigar to enjoy, they even have a humidor if you'd like to purchase one. Tobacco pipe smoking and cigarettes are allowed. It's a smokers haven. Kinda rare in California/Los Angeles. I honestly think this is one of the reasons this business is still thriving. Overall the food is mediocre. *Hommos Kawarma which is Hummus topped pieces of lamb meat. $13.95 was pretty good. *Kellaj menu states is assorted Lebenese cheese grilled in pita bread. $10.95. Do not order. I was expecting some delicious akawwi or halloumi white cheese toasted in pita...nope it was literally a thin layer of of some sort of swiss cheese in toasted pita. ZERO. *Kibbeh $11.95 was decent. *Falafel $10.95 was a big portion, the falafel was bland but the tahin sauce made up for it. *Mouhammara is not traditional at all. It was loaded with walnuts but lacked spice and the sweet and sour pomegranate molasses flavor. ZERO *Baba Ghanouj $9.95 tasted like it was out of a can. ZERO *Tabbouleh $10.95 was pretty tasty but within 30 minutes of sitting on the table, it was floating in its juices. I'm thinking it's not hand chopped, they definitely used a food processor. Some things you can't take short cuts on. Ok I'm boring myself now. If you want to enjoy a cigar, pipe or hookah...this place is your place...you just have to sacrifice and eat ehhh food. Three stars for the patio, that you can enjoy for hours while nibbling on food, chatting and people watching.

Yelp
Everything was perfect, they are very welcoming, quick service and the food is delicious, I will recommend it to all my friends and family.

Roger Y.

Yelp
Today, my wife and I had a delicious lunch at this restaurant. We were greeted by "Nova" who suggested a couple items off the menu. With Nova's help, we selected the cabbage salad, mixed grill, humus, and pita bread. Everything was freshly made and delicious. I ordered additional cabbage salad and grilled chicken to take home for later. Nova added additional cabbage and bread as a complimentary finish to a great meal. Nova gave us special attention that we appreciate. The owner of the restaurant greeted us as well at the beginning of our meal. Overall, very good meal with excellent service! We will be back to enjoy more meals.

Yelp
Wafa was so sweet and nice! He helped me choose the wine I wanted and his customer service was excellent

Yelp
Marina was absolutely fantastic, great atmosphere, great food, and great hookah. The service was amazing.

Yelp
The food seems to have been left over from the day before presented to us on a small tray for two similar to the one at a nursing home , taste of everything was worst than terrible except for the Hookha that's the reason for the two stars otherwise would have been zero stars
google avatar

Anwar S.

Yelp
I used to love this place, First when It opened, however, the last two years precisely(2022/23) the quality of the food have changed, Also the service, the servers give attention to bigger tables for the tips, if you're a couple you will be neglected most of the time, last three visits I didn't enjoy the food nor the service, It's not the same anymore

Sarineh B.

Yelp
The food is always good and has been for years. I love the kibbeh nayeh, the fattoush salad and the mint tea. The vibes are always right. I love this place

Yelp
The worst costumer service. Bad team Bad manager Don't waste your money They should close

Marian M.

Yelp
Great service and yummy food! Beautiful ambiance! You have to check it out if you haven't already!

Raffi S.

Yelp
I order from Phoenicia regularly and today I placed a to-go order of Sea Bass, a few sides, as well as Ashta Dessert. Whoever bagged my order put the Ashta dessert in the same bag as the salad and hummus and all the salad juice went inside my Ashta. Whichever idiot bagged this order needs to be removed from the restaurant industry ASAP. Look at the pictures of this dessert with the salad juice inside it. What a joke this place is.
