"Built in the style of an old-town tavern, the Phoenix City Grille serves contemporary American fare with local ingredients for a reasonable price. Everything on the menu is consistently good, whether it’s the appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees, or home-made desserts. The cedar-plank salmon served with citrus and horseradish and a roasted beet salad is one of the specialties. The signature salad, the Ramona Farms Superfood, features tepary beans, a local Native staple for over 4,000 years, Sonoran wheat berries, arugula, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds, roasted squash, and panela cheese." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Started with the green chili appetizer where you roll your own burrito with the hot chili pork. Very tasty and fun. The bacon wrapped shrimp were good also. I got the cedar plank salmon that was fishy as hell 😩. Sides were OK but not great. Friend got the pork loin that tasted a lot better than my Friskies cat food salmon. Service was slow. The restaurant is dated. Clientele is ancient. Won't be back.

I had an amazing dinner at phoenix city grille. The menu was awesome. We did a valentine’s day menu. The food was excellent. Deserts were delicious. They seem to have a special bourbon selection. I will definitely be back.

I liked the atmosphere but the food wasn't that great! We had the weekend menu for $44 a piece! My fish was a bit cold when it got to the table. The salad dressing was only pomegranate molasses! Finally the soda was flat! I went because a friend recommended the place!!

I walked into this place and was immediately impressed. You already know this place is going to have great food. They paid attention to all the details; from the lighting to the temperature to the dark wood. We came in for lunch and I was even impressed by the lunch menu. Service was professional, well mannered, and attentive. But the food..... was fabulous! I had originally ordered the lunch short rib gnocchi, but it was sold out. I can totally understand why such a combination would sell out. I ended up with the shrimp that was in a garlic jalapeno butter sauce atop a coconut rice with veggies. The taste, texture, temperature, and serving size were all perfect! Stop in and experience a local favorite!

I really enjoyed the Phoenix City Grille because it is a relaxed atmosphere in a central location with a lot of great dining options. The prices are pretty reasonable and there is good value. We had very friendly service.

11/2/24 - Short version: Wonderful experience! Absolutely no complaints. The food was fantastically seasoned, came out hot, great plate display, service w/ Karla was top-notch, and it is a very laid back restaurant. Definitely will go back. Longer version: stopped in this particular Saturday around 3:45. There are a quite few parking spots on the east side but even more parking available to the north, thanks to its location in a strip mall. Karla came over quickly after being seated and took our drink order. So there is one complaint actually: the special cocktail (Clarified Kentucky Sour) was not available until 5:00. LOL! No worries, we were there long enough to get it. The eggplant bites were thin and crunchy, the Danish ribs were spicy and fell off the bone, as did the short ribs (they were not spicy). The green Chile cornbread was not inundated with chiles, the mashed taters were creamy with a small amount of herbs to add a touch of flavor. All the cocktails were excellent (the PCG designed into the bourbon ice cube is a classy touch), even the non-alcoholic passion punch was tasty. The desserts were over the top. That buttermilk pie was to die (in hindsight, I should have ordered one to go), the apple crumble pie was so damn good, and oh man, that bread pudding was mouth-watering good. NO RAISINS! I have always been picky about bread pudding, only ever loving my Mom's old old Better Crocker recipe. Well, PCG's recipe was the closest thing to it. It was dense and flavorful. I could have easily eaten the whole thing (it's a small serving) but I wanted to save some for later -- which was extremely hard to do. ;-) Our server, Karla, was exceptional. She was funny, attentive, and very interactive with us. She kept heckling me about my distaste for raisins, and joking with us about hassling the bar tender for our 5 o'clock scheduled Kentucky sour special. PCG is lucky to have her, and we were blessed to have her for the short time we did. If you have not tried PCG, why the heck are you waiting?! Go. Now.

First time. Was going to get a haircut, but they were closing, so I walked over for dinner. I sat at the bar—open seating. Fast service, courteous staff. I had the shared ribeye with pico. I went the extra mile and had the bread pudding. I ordered vanilla ice cream too and topped off the bread pudding—so delectable! No veteran discount. :( But… As Arnold would say, "I'll be back!"

Our food and drinks were good. There are little things that would make the experience better. It would be nice to have room temp butter for the corn bread because the cold butter doesn’t spread. The red chile pork had great flavor. I enjoyed my Grille’s old fashioned but my husband wasn’t impressed with his margarita. The server was friendly.
