Google
Great place for sharing for a big or small party. We went on Saturday around one and it was awesome because it wasn't too crowed. They offer a lunch menu and service was fast. The food came out quickly, well cooked with great flavors and super warm as it had just been made. The staff was super attentive which a big plus. Definitely worth checking them out.

It is a reliable place for my family to eat at. We have been going to this location for years. Service has always been consistent and noticeable . Food is better than average, and prices are fair. There are times they have promotions.

Google
Good food and attentive service. We come here to redeem a reward we got from the Five Star app. That was a $20 dinner combo for 2. It included 2 courses of entree, soup of the day, steamed rice and fruit. The portion is enough for 2 ( in fact, we had leftover to bring home).

Non-Gmo,,No MSG, No Antibiotics in Chicken, Certified Clean Fish. The food is cooked exceptionally well. I'm coming back forsure. Nothing like this around LA.. what a Gem 💎, Music BTW, is mixed classic pop and R&B and old school hits..

Food quality is rated at 80%, not too many varieties, they didn't charge it's listed price, but a bit higher than!

Yelp
My hubby always loves the food at Phoenix (the one in Rowland Heights) and we always order for to-go or order from Uber Eats for delivery. Recently I saw an email from Phoenix that they had a Father's Day Prix-Fixe Menu for $108 (serve 5-6 persons) so I decided to take hubby and my family to try. We went to the one in Alhambra on Valley Blvd. and we were surprised that it wasn't too crowded on Father's Day during lunch time. After we were seated, we did not see the Prix-Fixe menu on the table so I asked the manager for the Prix-Fixe menu. This Prix-Fixe menu was only for Father's Day: Appetizer: Minced chicken lettuce cups Main entree: BBQ Roasted duck (half) Shrimp & Glazed Walnuts Peking Style Pork Chop Black Pepper & Basil fish Shrimp & minced garlic fried rice Dessert: Mango Pomelo Sago with silken tofu (2) The dishes came out quickly and they were in a big portion. All the dishes were delicious and my hubby loved it so much. My mom also kept saying it was a good deal and she liked them all as well. The first dish that came out was the appetizer Minced chicken lettuce cups. The chicken meat was tender and flavorful combined with Chinese sausages and mushrooms. The second dish was the Shrimp & minced garlic fried rice, my daughters liked it a lot. They gave us a good portion of shrimp and they were not bad. The third dish was the black pepper & basil fish. I told them that we didn't want spicy so they didn't put the hot chili there. It was very addictive and flavorful. I liked it a lot. The fourth dish that came out was the Peking-style pork chop. It was a big portion with a lot of pork meat. It was tender and delicious but we couldn't finish this dish. The following dish was the Shrimp & Glazed Walnuts. The taste was on point with the right amount of mayonnaise on the shrimp. It had a lot of crunchy glazed walnuts and we liked this dish. Lastly, we almost forgot our BBQ-roasted duck. The presentation was appetizing and the color was attractive. The duck skin was so crispy and the duck meat was juicy and tender, no wonder they took time to make this dish. The best part was the dessert. They gave us two Mango Pomelo and the size was good enough for 5 of us. It was a perfect dessert after having this satisfying meal and we all liked it so much. My hubby and my mom kept saying that I picked the right choice.

Yelp
We ordered To-go through Uber Eats for dinner. Unfortunately, the delivery of food was very disappointing to make it a good value. The tastes, which is considered the basics of food, are totally wrong! Do NOT order the "Szechwan Eggplant with Ground Pork" 魚香茄子 First of all, there is no ground pork inside as advertised. And the taste is not Szechwan at all. This classic dish is supposed to be spicy and more on the savory side for its flavor; but Phoenix chef makes it a disgusting McDonald "sweet and sour" sauce dish. It is unacceptably sweet and weird. All the other dishes are very plain in their taste and I'm quite disappointed. The only course that I may give an Okay is the fried rice. Phoenix used to be an option for me when craving for some Asian fusion courses or when you wanna introduce Chinese food to foreigners who might only can take "Panda Express" But now, even with those friends, I would tell them to stay away from the unappealing chained restaurant.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years .... Rain or shine I come for the Hot Milk Tea and Dessert Selection at their next door bakery and deli location... And in the main restaurant I always vie for their Won Ton Soup; fresh sautée vegetable platters and ... House Special Fried Rice Egg Rolls And today we went for the Half Order of Peking Duck... Really fresh and juicy duck meat with Crispy skin... Sauces and Peking style Buns are tasty and fresh and oh so doughy! For dessert try their Egg Tarts and Almond Cookies... delectable If you're feeling daring try their Hokkaido Alaskan Clam and Peanuts with Sardines...from the deli section... Absolutely perfect snack for any Netflix binge... Their black sesame pudding; and Hot Milk Teas are the tastiest versions ... of any Hong Kong style Milk Tea ANYWHERE... Pick up some cold style Chrysanthemum and Milk Teas to go... Delicious You can tell tell truly care here for quality and detail of just about any selection... Friendly and Cordial staff will remember you for years... So be well behaved!

Yelp
Service is good. Restaurant is clean and bright. We ordered shrimp with egg and it was perfect-- eggs were soft and lots of shrim. The chow mein was yummy delicious- fighting for the crunchy part! And the fried tofu with shrimp was very good. Picked up some mochi and custard from the next door dessert shop too!

Albert B.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Wonderful food it's Always delicious. Great service and the ambience is family friendly and even romantic. They have a nice parking. Also there is a bakery attached. Try the black bean sauce crispy beef chow mein.

Yelp
Ordered the OG dish, house special half chicken and wow let me tell you, I think I can make it better. It was tasteless and never remembered even tasting it like this. Quality and taste is NOT the same All the good chefs have left. Just pure sad.

Damaris G.

Yelp
Very unfortunate that I have to change my review but after ordering from there recently and having my family all get sick it's best to warn the public. What used to be my go to spot for food has really changed in quality. Still very expensive but drenched in clear gravy. Not sure which plate was the trigger for the chills and stomach "issues" to not be gross but we ordered walnut shrimp, orange chicken and crispy noodles. Be careful when eating here.

Jane D.

Yelp
My husband and I were running errands in Alhambra and picked this spot randomly for lunch. We both were absolutely delighted by everything we tasted here! My husband loved the lemon iced tea. I got the sweet chili rice and it was so unlike any type of rice I've ever tasted. We got the the fried spring rolls and loved how the whole roll is just shrimp. My husband got some seafood noodles, and of course, that was good too. The service was amazing too.

Steven W.

Yelp
I went to the dessert side and not the restaurant side as they have a window for orders connecting the two. They were fully stocked, slightly busy, but the line moved quickly. I always get the coconut mango roll and I tried the red bean mochi for the first time. It was not sweet at all but still cold and tender. The mango coconut is super refreshing and a burst of happiness. Sadly their credit card machine broke so they only accepted cash.

Truman W.

Yelp
Had a great lunch here yesterday - garlic on-choy stir-fry, salt & pepper pork chop, and two plates of boneless salted chicken (too good to share!) Sure the prices have gone up but the taste remains the same. Sadly business is not the same as pre-pandemic when the place was always packed during lunchtime. I hope they do a lot of takeout to stay afloat. Same excellent staff as before.

Yelp
BEWARE.....Food- quality has gone down significantly. Purchased $150 worth of food and regret it. Walnut shrimp was not good. The breading was thick and gooey. Made my stomach turn. Same thing with the Tangerine chicken...couldn't taste any chicken. Crispy chow mein was decent. Green beans decent. Fried rice was okay, the bbq pork tasted weird though. Sadly this is the last time I'll be ordering from here. Staff was friendly and nice on the phone. Update.....we have food poisoning BEWARE!

Yelp
I enjoyed my dinner here. I felt like having crispy noodles and gravy and searched for a restaurant for 30 minutes to find this particular dish and was still open bc I was searching late at night. I felt like having some late night crispy noodles! I drove over and the servers were very pleasant (I showed up 30 minutes before closing time). When I say down I was given complimentary green tea. It was and warm and tasty. I ordered the pork belly and It came out quickly. It was delicious and the broth it was bathing in was savory, semi sweet (because of the braised onion), rich and satisfying. I had my crispy noodles with beef, mushroom and Asian broccoli. The crispy noodles soaked up the gravy and it just hit the spot. The gravy soaked noodles had me digging in bite after bite. Some noodles were completely drenched and soggy while other parts of the crispy noodle were in untouched by gravy to they maintained the crispness. I had best of both worlds unifying as one on my palate. My only recommendation is to get those huge goldfish a bigger tank! They're too big for the tank they're in and I felt a little bad for them. As I mentioned before, the servers and staff were humble and pleasant. Although I arrived 30 minutes before closing time I never felt rushed or like o was a nuisance. I didn't know this place was a franchise, Or at least, there are multiple locations (maybe by the same owner; I don't know, I didn't investigate that far.) All in all I really enjoyed my experience and fulfilled my craving for crispy noodles. Having good service is a cherry on top.

Yelp
Went there on a Saturday night at 6:30 and we were the only customers. I was a little concerned. We ordered about 8 different dishes and they were tasty. I liked the cold chicken, the vegetables, lettuce wraps and the beef. I don't know what the fish we had was called, but it wasn't my favorite. When my friend said we were going there and it had 3.5 stars, we paused, and then my other friend said, " you know, that's pretty good for a Chinese restaurant. " I think he was right. My only comment would be about the Tiramisu. Sure, don't get Tiramisu from a Chinese restaurant, but it was fine except for the dust. The ladyfinger portion of the dessert was dust, not cake. Super weird. I ate it anyway.

Matt P.

Yelp
This is a legit Chinese restaurant. The flavor is on point, albeit some of the dishes are a little heavy on the salt. But if eaten with rice, it's not bad at all. Pricing wise, it's pretty much comparable to the other restaurants in the area. For a Saturday at 1:30pm, it was pretty empty which was good for us since we had 11 people. We were all able to fit in one table. There's room to actually fit 12 if needed. The servers were very responsive and cleared out our empty dishes without us asking. They even consolidated some of our food so there's room on the table. They did not give us any oranges or after meal refreshment like Newport Seafood. But that's not a big deal. Definitely will add this to my list of Chinese Restaurants

YF C.

Yelp
The food was yummy. There is aquarium with fish at the entrance of the restaurant. My kids find them adorable.

Yelp
Price has gone up and portion has become smaller. We paid extra for the pork belly dish but the container was half full with about 6 slices of meat and lots of liquid. We feel cheated.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Have you ever been told you didn't tip enough? Yea, well I tipped $25 and was told it wasn't enough. Did I order a bunch of stuff? Yes. Was the tip generous to match the taste and service? Sure. I've been going here for years but this most recent time I went here wasn't as good as they use to be. All of the dishes we ordered were just salty. No particular taste. Our fish tasted a little funny. No one asked if we needed refills. And we had to ask for one of our orders. If you are going to come here just get the dessert and run. They are no where as good as there were in the past.

Annie K.

Yelp
Yum! My friend brought me here for lunch and i hadn't had authentic chinese food for awhile so was excited to eat some noodles! They give u complimentary hot tea which i liked and we decided to order the chow fun seafood dish ( i think the owner who took our order created this for us bc my friend does not eat spice). And we also got the vegetable chinese broccoli with garlic. It was all very delicious and yummy! I got chili sauce on the side, they also have siracha. They also have a dessert place next door that is connected. The hong kong milk tea was $4.50 but turns out 4.96 after tax? Enjoyed our lunch here overall.

Yelp
It's Delicious I go every Weekend for Duck and I won't stop going! Me and My family love this place

Tony C.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for Chinese food! I have been coming here for years since I was a kid going to their Chinatown location and it has always been solid. Their boneless chicken is a MUST TRY. I also love their minced string beans with mushroom and sausage. They also have a number of good desserts and drinks. I literally have not had a bad dish here and think that they do everything pretty well. As with most Asian restaurants, I don't expect much in terms of service, decor, etc but if you want solid Chinese food, this is the spot.

Vivien S.

Yelp
This is a "fancy" restaurant that sells gourmet Chinese food. Although they are a lot like all Chinese restaurants in this area, there are a few "costs" to this place. First, most Chinese restaurants sell food that are cheaper, but this place is a whole lot more expensive. In addition to that, the portions they serve to customers are smaller than other places, even though they are more expensive! Second, they don't give out free rice! If you want to order a meal that does not have rice, you should order from this place! Who does not like rice? Out of all the places that sell Chinese food, they all give out free rice when you order take out. However, this "Phoenix" restaurant does not, and instead they charge you extra! One day, my mother was trying to order take out, and she tried to ask the woman if they sell free rice. Instead of saying a simple "yes", the woman working there rolled her eyes at her and declined her order! That is why I am kind of raged with this place, and I would appreciate the change if one of the workers would read this. The reason why I only gave this place a two star rating is because their dessert is good. To be honest, I love the dessert, and it is not too bad. However, I am still concerned about the price and service. Which worker will treat their customer with a roll of their eyes? How can this place not give out free rice? Therefore, I do not enjoy this restaurant in many ways.

Brian B.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! The food taste great and doesn't taste like it has a lot of oil, as some other places do. Flavors are very classic Chinese flavors. The service is great and the place is nice and clean. Prices might be a little high but it isn't something that isn't affordable.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I really enjoy this restaurant, specifically for their fried tofu, porridge, and lettuce wraps. When I found out a family of mine didn't have top teeth and needed porridge, my SGV family pointed to this restaurant as their porridge is cooked for 12 hours and is known as the best. And they were sure right. Ittwas tasty and it's now my go-to porridge place. Otherwise, I love their fried tofu that has shrimp inside and in general all the dishes I have had were good. The parking is pretty difficult. You can park in the back or on the street. When the bank is closed, I use the parking lot behind it and walk over. Service is normal for an Asian place, so you likely will have to flag down the waiter. The staff are super nice though once you talk to them. Would I bring a date here? Not as a first date particularly because the decor is not that pleasing and it is more of a family restaurant. Otherwise, it's great for big groups and to please the Asian parents and elders.

Ed T.

Yelp
This has been around but only recently have I realized that I really like this place! Here's why: 1. Not the same as the smaller Phoenix restaurants. This has a more extensive and traditional Cantonese menu, but it feels cleaner and the service is better than traditional Chinese restaurants. It's also much quieter. 2. I think they make the BEST kung pao chicken of anywhere I've had it. The reason is the chicken is really tender and you get big meaty pieces, with the other ingredients (onions, green peppers, hot chili peppers, peanuts) as supporting actors - as opposed to most other places where it is mainly peanuts, sauce, onions, and then less chicken. Also, I don't like peanuts in this dish and they were nice enough to exclude that for me by request. 3. Lately they've been having lobster sales and we've gone several times. So delicious! Probably second to Newport Seafood for lobster, but much less expensive and without the long wait or the crazy crowds. 4. I've never had to wait in line and there is plenty of parking in the back. You don't have to deal with crazy crowds and parking lots of those big plazas. 5. Service is good. The people are friendly, they often change your plates (esp. if eating lobster), and it's easy to get somebody to help if you need something.

Vince L.

Yelp
No A/C Slow service , it's hot and stuffy, poor service Not friendly Way way too hot

Jamie V.

Yelp
I love this restaurant! yes the prices went up a little but the quality is still really good and consistent. I love their kung pow chicken, deep fried shrimp, spicy chicken wings, Hakka braised pork belly, chicken lettuce wrap and many more! The service is quick and friendly too, definitely one of my favorite Chinese restaurants!

Tina C.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with my siblings and was not impressed with the food here. We ordered the arctic surf clams, water spinach, sweet and sour pork, steamed Chilean sea bass, and sweet prawn. The surf clams did not have any taste. The sweet and sour pork was mostly batter. The prawns were a bit too sweet. The water spinach was cooked with salted fish so it was pretty salty. My favorite dish was the steamed sea bass. It was not overly salty and the the fish melts in your mouth. Overall, I was not impressed with the dishes that we ordered and this place wouldn't be my first choice when it comes to Chinese food.

Aj G.

Yelp
First time ordering and I found a bug in my fried rice and now im sad. Thanks for bringing back my depression like a Phoenix from the ashes. 2 stars because the drink was OK

Matthew B.

Yelp
Amazing and great food, this is what I grew up eating in sgv. Servers are very friendly and the food is very reasonably priced. This is our spit

Tyler J.

Yelp
Updating my review - I've had way more Chinese food around LA now a few years later and can say Phoenix holds up. Good quality everything, tasty food. Really nothing to complain about. If you're near one try it out, they have a huge menu and everything I've tried has been good.

J'aime K.

Yelp
3.75 stars overall. Service was pretty strong. I would say 4 stars plus. There were alot of people helping. The servers were friendly and chatted with me for a bit. Everyone worked together as if on a team. - A few items were missed or forgotten but then another team member was happy to help me out I ordered: - Ong Choy w garlic and oil (it came out with a brown Malay sauce that was off putting, smelled like a horse stall); but crazily I didn't wanna be a pain so I just ate it. - Yang Chow fried rice: had a nice amt of shrimp, too much diced pork sausage for my liking, some peas, etc. Would have been nice to have more onion and egg in this fried rice. Hmmm... - Deep Fried Tofu: Waiter upsold me to the $2 higher one that is stuffed with Shrimp he said. Well it had 1 pc of half a shrimp on each one. Plain. Didn't add to the taste, Not worth it. It was well made but came out with this boring sauce (I had to swap for soy ginger sauce) that was like warm tempura dipping sauce. - The Singapore noodles is a party in your mouth. Undernote is strong spicy curry with skinny noodles, onions, bell pepper, egg, shrimp and bbq'd pork, etc. EXCELLENT! - They have a pickled cabbage vegg item $3.95 that I thoroughly enjoyed, best part of the meal! - Their LAYU - chili oil was great. - Their HOT TEA though was SUPERB. I had mine over ice. It was so good I stayed and nearly finished the pot. - I asked for a large cup with lots of ice and ice water, they brought me a pitcher and left it at my table LOL. I was grateful, I drank about half. - Their rice is $1.65 add on charge but it is well made, high quality. The portions lean on generous. For the price it is a great value. I would like to go back and try other items. - There was so much to take home to meal prep for 6 more meals - Yeah I meal prep by ordering from restaurants LOL I was brought here by the Crab for $9/lb. But all they had was 2.5 - 3.0 lbs sizes so I passed on it. Maybe I should try it next time. This is so much more than their normal Phoenix Food Boutiques. Great Chinese food at a great price!

Melvin T.

Yelp
Extremely slow!!! Ordered a soup; took one thousand years. Watched the fish tank, one of the fish can only swim vertically.

Ann W.

Yelp
Everything turned into fusion style, taste just wasn't there. We want the good old authentic Chinese food!

Christine T.

Yelp
Phoenix is THE SPOT when it comes to good Chinese food!!! Not only was the service great, but everything I ate was so delicious -- it tasted like home. The waitstaff and the manager were really welcoming and friendly, and it created a great atmosphere. They were also super helpful in helping us pick out our dishes. (Side note about the service - you don't really except to get great service in most Chinese restaurants, so this really stands out.) Per their recommendations, we ordered the deep fried whole fish, and let me tell you, it was full of flavor. It was really crispy but the greatest part was that the bone was crispy & edible too!!! It's perf for those lazy like me that want to eat Asian style fish and don't wanna deal with the bones, hehe. The sauce is also super yummy and goes soo well with rice. (Don't forget to ask for rice on the side!) The ginger onion crab that we also ordered was also bomb! It tasted super fresh & juicy and also very flavorful. Def recommend this if you enjoy crab!!

Gloria C.

Yelp
I like Phoenix for their dessert especially the durian one, but the restaurant is a different story. The first time I ate at Phoenix wasn't bad, I think it was acceptable, but the second experience makes me never wanna go back. I was craving for sweet and sour pork but I think that was the worst one I've EVER had. Inside the skin was no meat, not even the slightest, it was all pork fat and tiny pieces of it. We all spit it out with disgust and just left the dish untouched on the table. Then there was seafood tofu, last time we tried it too and it wasn't bad, but this time, there was no taste to the seafood nor the tofu. The only decent thing was the Singaporean fried noodles. No wonder they were pretty quiet on a Friday night. Don't think I'll go back anytime soon.

ely m.

Yelp
Obviously the cold chicken is super good. Not sure why the skin is so damn good but it is. If you can add some extra salt and msg to yours you will be in heaven Tried the noodles with beef and black bean sauce. Very happy with the dish. Plenty of beef all cooked through and tender. Surprisingly great delivery meal. Def would order the noodles and obviously the chicken again. Why is that chicken so good lordy

Alisa C.

Yelp
Have visited this restaurant a few times and enjoyed their food. Water spinach with Malay sauce is a fave and so are their porridge dishes. Sea bass with Bali sauce is a bit too sour for my taste, but we finished the dish anyway. So kind of our server to offer free rice. Oh, and there's room for desserts (eat in or take out). Enjoyed the mango/grapefruit pudding and especially the black sesame puree with added mochi balls. Yum! (When I am older and have no teeth, I hope to have black sesame puree daily!). Yum. Easy one hour free parking outside.

Doreen T.

Yelp
Authentic Canto cuisine with all the desserts you already love at a Phoenix Express! Been here a few times over years, visited recently again when they had the $12/lb lobster sale and it was the best choice! No need to go to Newport for their ridiculous wait. The waitress recommended their Dai Pai Dong 大排檔 style with scallions, mixed pork and chili. However I cannot eat spicy so we opted for the regular scallion, onions and ginger. For 3.75 lbs the lobster was meaty, easy to crack and the meat fell off the shells! We also got my favorite dish the steamed egg tofu with mixed seafood. My husband's favorite veggie dish is the string bean, but for some reasons they gave us the wrong one without the kick and ground pork. It was plain and not much taste. However, the kung pao chicken and salt and pepper fried squid made up for it. We had plenty of leftovers for another meal for all 3 of us. Customer service is your typical Chinese restaurant where you had to remind them a few times to get what you want like water refill or to-go boxes. But otherwise, we will come back and try many more dishes! We arrived before 5:30PM and there was no wait, but by the time we left a couple hours later the line was out the door.

Grace C.

Yelp
I found out about Taste of Alhambra with two days left, so I frantically picked a place to explore on Friday night. Phoenix Inn was it. They offered a $15 pre-fixe menu that included a drink, appetizer, main dish and dessert! BF and I picked the following: DRINKS: Mixed fruits delight APPETIZERS: Garlic chicken wings (2 pieces) ENTREE: Walnut shrimp with white rice DESSERT: Mango and grapefruit pudding Black sticky rice with young coconut We picked the same thing for all courses except for dessert. It was a decent amount of food for the price, so we ended up eating our appetizers, main dish, and the black sticky rice dessert in the restaurant and taking home what we couldn't finish: the other dessert and the drinks (we had hot tea, so no room to drink the mixed fruits delight). The main dish felt like it was a smaller portion than your usual dinner size, but honestly, it was just right for all the things we were getting. BF thought the shrimp had a little too much mayo, but I thought it was a good ratio. The Taste of Alhambra menu is a great intro to several of their popular menu items and quite filling too! Service was a little slow, but somewhat expected of a regular Chinese restaurant. We did have to ask for the Taste of Alhambra menu, as they didn't bring that out with their regular menu when we were seated. We came in the black of night, so I couldn't tell if they have a dedicated parking lot in the back. There's street parking out front on Valley. We ended up getting a spot on Monterey, one of the side streets.

Yelp
I've been coming to this restaurant for years. The prices have went up some but is still very reasonable. This is my go to place when I'm craving chicken lettuce wraps. It's made with chopped fluffy chicken (how do they make it so fluffy? Super hot wok?), Chinese sausage (bit of savory), water chestnuts (for great crunch), fried noodles, onions and topped with green onions. The walnut shrimp is another fave, lightly fried shrimp with a creamy coating with candied walnuts. It's a common dish but they make it pretty yummy here. Korean BBQ beef, marinated sliced beef sautéed with leeks is delicious. Phoenix chicken is their take on Hainan chicken and is chilled chicken served with pickled veggies & chicken flavored sticky rice. Yum! Everything I've had here is very good and fresh. They have a good variety of food. All dishes are served with steamed rice and hot tea. My drink of choice is the tropical iced tea with fresh fruit. Very refreshing! The service is good for a Chinese restaurant, flag them down when you need anything. The restaurant has plenty of tables and can accommodate big parties. There is street parking or park in the lot off Garfield behind the bank. Definitely recommended!

Stevo O.

Yelp
A typical Chinese restaurant with a homey atmosphere and good service. The menu reflects Cantonese cooking that reminds my family of home cooking. The cuisine is not as glamorous as some other restaurants, but makes up for it in service. The presentation could be beefed up a little, and the food was plenty but lacking in flavor. I'm sure folks who grew up in the villages of China would be more satisfied with the flavors, but this son of southern California was raised with a more fresh taste appetite, more similar to the tastes of Taiwan. I did enjoy the fish aquariums around the restaurant and the opportunity to select our lobster from the tanks.

Yelp
Checked out Phoenix Inn on the advice from a co-worker that lives in the area as we were in search of some good wonton soup. Glad we listened to him. We had the Phoenix Inn special wonton soup. It was loaded with all kinds of ingredients and was super tasty. It had pieces of white fish, shrimp, Chinese broccoli, bbq pork and the wontons. Speaking of the wontons, it was tasty and was filled with ground pork and shrimp. It had really good flavor. It was perfect on a cold day. We also had the deep fried pork chops in spicy salt ($8.25). This was very good as well and the portion was more than enough for 2 people. The pork chops, wonton soup, some steamed rice and a couple of 7-ups and we had ourselves a satisfying lunch. Service was good and attentive. Waiters were easily available for refills, additional drink orders, etc. Street parking only. We got lucky to find parking on the block before along Valley Blvd.

Yelp
Had a great selection of Chinese dishes, we got three to share among three people: braised pork belly, black pepper and basil fish, and the yeong chow fried rice. The fish was my favorite, deep fried and crispy with a delicious sauce, and it comes with rice. The braised pork belly was as I expected, nice and fatty with a good sauce as well. The fried rice was pretty mediocre, good but bland in comparison to the other dishes. The three of us left full with a good amount of leftovers as well, so this place is definitely worth the price.

Yelp
It's an okay Chinese place, menu looks different. I didn't feel the vibe back when we used to come here, feels like an okay place to go for some chow mein.

Yelp
Decided to get some late night snacks but everywhere was closed except this one. I always get their durian black sticky rice with jelly noodles whenever I crave durian. It kinda reminds me of my childhood. This store looks pretty clean and neat although it's kinda small but they have outdoor seating. Service was good and the ladies here weren't being pushy in trying to get people to buy more stuff. Parking is only for 24 minutes I believe.

Yelp
The taste is good but they never look the instruction. I ordered no peanuts but always came with peanut. Such a disappointment.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've eaten at a sit down Chinese restaurant for dinner so I was expecting kind of a nice family environment. The atmosphere was nice, it wasn't hectic and just seemed like an out of place Chinese restaurant away from all of the other Chinese restaurants on Valley Blvd. It was my son's birthday so we took him out to this restaurant. Of course we went all out, meaning he got to pick what he wanted for dinner, so he order this really big lobster, a whole Peking Duck, and a few other plates. The lobster was over 4lbs and I think the price was $25+/lb, so I was expecting the dinner to run up there in the $100s. I was really surprised when the bill came and it was only about $220. Super cheap for a place that has a "this was once a fancy place, back in the 80's" feel to it. The food was excellent! The lobster was fantastic. They had some stuff sprinkled on the lobster that added tremendous flavor to it. The Peking Duck was just as good, especially the bun. I haven't had Peking Duck in years, but dang, that bun was super soft. It's been a few months since my visit, and those are the only two dishes I remembered ordering but all I remember is that the food was really good and the price was a lot less than I was expecting.

Yelp
Hands down still the best Cantonese food in California! This is the go-to Chinese restaurant we favorite; my family & extended family. Had the house special lobster to celebrate the moon festival, along with our fav hand sliced chicken, fried intestine, salty-fish with chicken fried rice. All super yum, as always!

Yelp
We were hesitant to come here cuz COVID sucks, even though it's an old time favorite. But we came & we were not disappointed!! Still tastes great and service still good. Can't wait to come back again and worth the drive from Santa Clarita!
