I didn’t have high expectations as this chain appears to be catered towards a non-Vietnamese demographic however my bowl of pho was incredibly salty. And not just slighty salty, it tasted as if somebody in the kitchen mistakened a jar of salt for another key ingredient, making the broth entirely inedible. When I alerted staff, they looked at me as if I was crazy and completely dismissed my feedback. They offered a cup of water to water down the broth instead of genuinely trying to resolve this problem. I’m completely appalled by the food and service. I highly advise management to re-evaluate their standards and employ better employees who are able to problem solve through bad customer service experience.

If you haven’t NOT been to this restaurant, you need to give a shot! I was in Austin on business, but I wanted some Pho for dinner after a long day. I was shocked at how the quality of the food was on “Stand Out” level! I had the d&d street tacos with tofu…AMAZING! The tofu was perfectly prepared, and the other ingredients were also on point! Next time I’ll try the Pho for sure just because the tacos were done so authentically! Don’t walk, run to try this restaurant because you will be back!

Excellent establishment, perfect for an afternoon date or study time. Outlets at many tables, perfect lighting, and a radio at low levels to enhance focus made my study time ideal and enjoyable. Now on to the food, oh my goodness, how delicious. The iced coffee is to die for, there are so many good menu items, my favorite being the lemongrass beef sandwich. They provide the Stubborn soda brand soda which is superior to Pepsi and coke on all levels. The staff are nice and friendly, and work hard to make amazing menu items and to keep the place nice. Each of these reasons are good enough on their own, and combined make it a staple for anyone coming through Austin.

Cindy at TMobile recommended PhoNatic because I am a serious pho fanatic. I know a good pho when I inhale the broth and taste five or more huge spoonfuls. My first pho on Anderson was shrimp pho and I have eaten at PhoNatic for four consecutive days. It is worth sweating for because I love the hot fresh jalapeño slices. Tomorrow will hit 103° and I will be chillin' with a large pho. The shrimp is going to be the lucky bowl.

The Brooklyn Bowl with all the meats & the Grill Bowl with 🍋 Lemongrass Beef are Worthy of Return Trips! Staff is helpful & friendly. The condiment bar is well-stocked, and the drink selection is nice. Atmosphere is relaxing. Great place for conversation and downtime.

Having been to Vietnam, I can say this place has truly authentic flavors! Everything was sooooo delicious, the portions were huge, and the service was fast. The prices are honestly a steal for such a big meal. I really don’t get the bad reviews they must be from people who don't understand any flavors beyond fried chicken and massive amounts of sugar.

Wonton noodle soup was delicious. I don’t care for the pork spring rolls, they tasted funny to me but the boyfriend loved them. Food came out very quick and was hot. The noodles were a bit clumped together as if they’ve been sitting for a while. Decent price. Clean place. Good service.

The best crispy salt and pepper tofu! Their báhn mí is super flavorful and the bread is so soft. The pho-nomenal combo is the best of both worlds. I've tried the veggie, brisket and chicken pho and they're all delicious. It can also be delivered! I didn't think it could, but the broth was super flavorful and clean. It came steaming hot and the veggies and noodles were kept separated. I was so impressed by their packaging and will be definitely order again.

This was the best thing I had in Austin. Since this was located in a plaza, plenty of parking available. We ordered chicken phó and brisket bahn mi to go. The pho was great, the soup base was fantastic. I am giving 4.99 stars for the best bahn mi I've had in a while. Oh wow, so so good!

I got the half n half, beef pho with a tofu banh mi. (Pictured is the veggie pho because it had better lighting on the table). The tofu in the banh mi is actually pretty yummy. There was so much sauce in the banh mi it was making a mess and dripping out with every bite. The bread was a bit hard making the sandwich hard to take good "everything" bites from. The beef pho was nothing to write home about unfortunately. The broth tasted weak and underdeveloped. It didn't have distinct flavor and didn't make you want to come back for more pho. The bowl is also quite small and makes it difficult to mix the ingredients together when putting in your sprouts and herbs. The beef was lacking in any flavor at all. In the veggie pho, the baby corn tastes like it came from a can because the center of it has a sort of acidic, odd taste that I found unpleasant... The service was fine! The ambiance looked better online than in person. I didn't think it smelled or looked as clean as it possibly could especially near the area where you pick up sauces, silverware, etc. It smells a little humid and funky probably because that's going near the hallway that leads to the bathroom. Unfortunately, I will most likely will not return.

You know, I was skeptical about this place based on the name, but it absolutely rips. That lemon grass beef goes so unbelievably hard. The service is fast and the ladies in the front are super sweet. And it's affordable, which is always a major plus. Give it a spin for lunch.

Omg! Best pho place ever. Definitely my favorite in Austin. The wonton pho, tacos, tofu, egg rolls, and sliders are a must get. also love their thai tea! we have the best little date night here - all the food was fresh and wonderful, with amazing staff and service to top it off. They are so kind and welcoming Phonatic is an absolute must while in Austin, and locally and family owned!

I honestly love this place!! My favorites are the tofu spring rolls and the Sara bowl. I just think all their ingredients are so fresh and perfect for a week night pick me up. I've also had their pho, bao buns, etc. I always pick up and they prepare my order within 10-15 mins which is great. Love it!

Sometimes you come back to those places you've always loved and you wonder why you stayed away so long... and here I am in comfort food heaven with the best meal I've eaten in a while. Had all the customary sauces and condiments around me and created quite a work of art. Even the Sambal is here, so I'm one happy girl. I'm certain it'll help me kick this cold. I feel better already! YUM!

I've been getting pho from Phonatic for a few years now and it's a pretty solid, consistent choice for affordable pho. It's not the best pho I've ever had but the service is friendly and it's straightforward. It seems like they recently expanded their menu and have a lot of special dishes that I'm interested in trying. I tried the Sara bowl which my friend recommended and apparently is popular, but I didn't think it was that special and still prefer just regular pho.

Went to Phonatic today after hearing great reviews from a friend and they were SO right! Veggie pho is hard to nail but this one is packed with veggies and had a delicious broth. The service was friendly and quick, and the location is very much like a classic pho spot. I can definitely see myself returning for another bowl of pho but might have to split with a friend -- the quantity is huge!!

Omg the beef banh mi is seriously the best one I've ever had outside of leaving the country. It's honestly a deal considering how much food you get, and the quality of the ingredients is impressive. I like that they didn't try to do too much, the beef is seasoned well, the veggies are fresh, and the bread has that familiar crunch on the outside with the pillow softness you expect from the baguette. I don't come to Austin often but even a year later this place holds up!

One of the first pho places I tried when I moved to Austin and still can't find one I dislike more. The noodles were overcooked. The broth was bland even after adding so many other things. The banh mi was a joke. All around gross. I didn't even eat half of it before tossing. I won't be wasting my money again.

Great food, kids menu and relatively allergy aware. My kids typically ask to go here right around mid day on a Saturday. It's quick and easy and the food is top quality. The kids menu helps keep prices under control and they always accommodate our gluten free ask. Portions are super generous and expect to take some home in a to go box. The only downside is their drinks machine, by stubborn sodas, truely never mixes sodas correctly..in the couple of dozen times we've been here never once has it been working correctly. The drinks are either undrinkably syrupy or basically just soda water. We've brought it up and other guests are always talking about it. I'd fire the company that's managing it and get someone consistent to run it. It's super low hanging fruit to get right. Still the pho is amazing as well as the spring rolls some keep coming back!

I had the vermicelli with pork, shrimp, and egg roll. It was delicious but not as good as the one from Tan My. It's a pretty good sized bowl. My hubby had the steak pho. He loved it.

This place is not good viet food at all. I got the spicy noodle bowl. It had such a weird flavor I can't even describe it. It wasn't spicy at all and it was $15. Def save ur money for an authentic viet place

I ordered mine and my mom's Pho bowls via a 3rd party app. If I had one big complaint, it's that they didn't label what was what. Especially since I am a vegetarian and my mom is not. We figured out the dry bowl quickly as mine had tofu and mom had chicken. The broth, however... we ended up having to call to ask how to figure out which one was the vegetable broth. Otherwise, the food was tasty and exactly what I was craving when I decided to go with PhoNatic. Would highly recommend!

Obsessed with their D&D Street Tacos! They're made with these flaky, crispy and buttery paratha (flatbread). The best Veggie Eggrolls ever. They're scratch made and so addicting! Would also recommend Brooklyn Bowl! Family owned and local!

Haven't done much pho. But decided to have some soup and this place impressed me. Their pork was absolutely perfect. Tender and flavorful. I got the Sara Bowl and dumped my soup on top of it. A little (very little Hoisin Sauce and it was perfect. It's a lot of food even though it's a smaller bowl than the normal pho. Filled me up and I'm a big guy. The shrimp was a bit bland. So eat that with a mouthful of stuff. Also I thought there was a toppings bar (which wasn't there-maybe because of Covid). $11.50. I'll try it again and see if they'll customize my order next time.

so good Pho!! super fresh and great tasting. the tacos, spring roles and the sliders also slap. will be a regular here, especially for takeout

not sure why but the food quality has gone down over the last two years not sure if it was Covid that caused it but the meat is sub par- crowds are about only 1/3 the sizes when first openrd. Also the lady at he counter needs a refresher on how to care about your job. like talking to wallpaper

Very pleasant experience. Order at the counter. Tables seemed to be kept clean. I was there on an off hour. The Pho was hot and delicious.

Tbh I can definitely see why this place isn't popular among the Vietnamese community in Austin. It's just mediocre. All I have to say about the food is that: they're trying too hard to make it all fancy, but it just ends up looking like a mess carelessly thrown together. Hard pass. If this place was your first Vietnamese food experience, I hope you found another place that gave you a better impression.

Food and service was great, just wish the bowls came with more noodles! Also great at labeling vegetarian/gluten free

I usually go here for the Pho and Bun. Portions are small for both. With the pho, quality of the broth and the ingredients varies widely enough for it to not always be the same experience when you visit! The bun is nice, but again the portions are very small. I don't quite get the loyalty program. I racked up a lot of points, but don't remember it really remember the coupons adding to my experience. This is not my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. I prefer Pho Phong Luu, but it is one of two Vietnamese restaurants in Austin I frequent regularly.

shrimp pho tasted like it all came out of a freezer or package. Didn't taste fresh. broth and shrimp mediocre.

not the most authentic Vietnamese pho I've ever had, but still a great cheap and tasty lunch option For $9.75 I got half a banh mi of my choice (grilled pork) and a half portion of pho. I could easily have eaten one or the other and taken the rest home for dinner. Probably going to save this one for when it gets colder and I'm in the mood for soup.

I love this place, just wish the staff were better trained. I had placed an order over the phone and went in to pick it up. This restaurant has a rewards program and I plan on using some of the points to receive a discount on my order. I showed the staff the QR code to scan and they did not know what I was talking about. The person on the register then went to the back to grab another employee who asked me to enter my email attached to the rewards program and when I did it showed them that I did have a reward to redeem, but they did not know how to apply it to my order. After 15 mins of them trying to figure it out, they still did not know what to do and started giving me attitude and throwing out random excuses. I even showed them the information about how to redeem your rewards from their own website and they still didn't know anything about it. I decided to forget about it and paid after 15 mins were wasted and my food was now cold. Why even had a rewards program if your employees do not know anything about it or how to even redeem the rewards?

The food here overall was decent. The spring rolls were good with the peanut paste. The beef pho bowl was just ok. The banh mi was decent.

The good was excellent and the wait staff was great, they wore gloves and socially distanced. They were very professional and helpful. She logged me into their WiFi. I got their side of soup which I thought was fried wontons but turned out to be a small soup. I got the kids pho with meatballs and it was huge, couldn't believe it was kids side. Plus my husband liked lemon grass beef bowl and he added hot sauce to it. I had to add plum sauce to my meatball and noodle soup. Tough decision: wonton soup or pho with brisket or meatballs. I will be back.they were wearing masks and gloves as well.everyone was socially distanced.

Called in an order for the chicken pho with veggies and shrimp spring rolls. The person on the phone was very nice and was also nice in person when I went to pick up my meal. Pho was pretty basic but the portion was plenty and everything was fresh. Spring rolls are always really tough for me to eat because they fall apart so easily but they were great. I definitely would come back again. Just a reminder though that they don't take cash.

Back to weak sauce. Stay away if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese food with flavor. Only go here when you are a serious serious bind for Vietnamese food, folks.

I've been loving PhoNatic for 4 years now. This place is solid. The food is always consistent and flavorful. The spring rolls always taste fresh. I personally love the bahn mi sliders, pork egg rolls, and Thai tea. The pho is also delicious and the rice plates are tasty and filling. So really, everything is great, and in the 4 years I've been eating here, I haven't had a bad experience.

Uber Eats favorite. I always ask for customization on items and it is always delivered right on point. If I'm ordering in, I always hope for the best but these guys always deliver great food quality and each item as ordered.

I ordered some spring rolls for myself and a large $15 bowl for my two small kids to split and asked for an extra bowl. When it was brought out in a large bowl and a small salad bowl was provided, I asked if it would be ok to have a large one so I could make it even.... the woman seemed to indicate it wasn't possible, or that it would be too much trouble with her expression and body language. I said "if you can, great, if you can't, it's no problem" -- I honestly didn't think asking for a larger bowl was a problematic request. Then I got up to get my forks. A burly goateed guy with a chip on his shoulder decided either my words or tone were rude on my part and went out of his way to walk near me and began to lecture me... and insult me in front of my kids. I was trying to make sure my kids couldn't register the negative situation and I told him to have a nice day and brushed him off. He kept trying to rile me up and continued to insult me in front of my kids and even addressed my kids (5 and 8)... I felt extremely vulnerable as a female alone with two kids and finally told him to "get the (expletive) away from me!".... pleased, he took his disgusting self out the door while waving the middle finger at us and hurling insults. Not a single staff person blinked.. or did a thing. They just looked like complete zombies! Pretty sure I could have been stabbed and no one would have done anything. This place used to be pretty great, with a nice condiments bar, and clean environment. I've just been so disappointed with the decline in service and food for the last few years, I don't even know why we went... it feels kind of dirty and depressing now... and now I've had this wonderful experience... Just yuck. Go somewhere else.

To be fair, this was the first time I ever tried Vietnamese Pho noodles. So, I don't really have anything to compare it with. I have never been to Vietnam. For my work, I drive all over Austin and just happened to be close to this place when I was feeling hungry. I did not plan to go here ahead of time. I ordered the chicken Pho noodles and paid just over $10 with tax. The chicken, noodles, and vegetables all tasted fresh to me. The broth was hot and flavorful, but not very spicy. The service was quick and the restaurant is clean and well lit with nice tables. Much better than those old asian food restaurants that dominated American strip malls. I don't consider myself a big eater, but the meal was filling for me even without finishing all the broth. I will go again if I am in the neighborhood and may also return with my wife and try other entrees next time.

Would've been better outside of the hair in my food. Otherwise good! Would get again if they can confirm no hair will be in it.

Their grilled pork spring rolls are the best I've ever had! The bahn mi pork is great too, especially the sliders version on the bao bun!

I've never dined in here but always order it on Uber Eats. They have some of the best vegan pho broth in town. The last 2 times I've ordered, the broth has been saltier than normal but maybe it was just a salty batch. Would highly recommend the tofu spring rolls and tofu bahn mi sliders. This place never disappoints!

Utility Vietnamese. Pho. Egg roll and spring roll. Banh mi. Vietnamese tacos if you want to get cute. Tofu and veggie options for the meatless crowd. Tripe in the soup for the hard core crowd. We ate. It was food.

oxtail pho was bland the the meat not cooked properly, service and ambiance are fine but food is too bad to be overlooked

I'm here, I'm hungry and I'm in a hurry - oh, and I won't eat crap. I have passed this place frequently for more than a year. When they opened at this location, they didn't offer vegetarian broth. Recently I saw the change on their e-menu, so of course I had to pop in. Good move, me! Fast service, flavorful broth, lots of lovely veggies and vegetarian broth. Yay! I'm in a hurry, but I will post my pictures and I will definitely be back! Not 5 stars only because the atmosphere is just a little bit Americano. There are truly authentic pho places around (there's an excellent one across the street) but for good, fast AND inexpensive, with delicious to boot, Pho Natic is hard to beat!

The take out pho comes with SO MUCH FOOD! The only thing I would do different next time is order more hoisin sauce since I only had 1 packet!

This place is fire. I've been here a handful of times and keep coming back. I've only tried a few different types of pho but dawg.... phenomenal, broth is so good.

Good selection of pho. Like the tendon tripe option as well as oxtail. Would like a choice besides very lean brisket. Also wish they along with most Asian restaurants would use reusable chopsticks. The forests needed to supply throwaway chopsticks is a lot. Overall I like this place!

This place was kinda disappointing. Upon entering, I noticed 2 menu screens. You can either customize your order or choose something from the menu that is set to order. Then you move up the line to where you order. One person was taking orders behind the counter while there were 2-3 extra touch screens that you can self order from. I was a bit confused as I came with a group of friends, and part of them were ordering with the girl behind the counter, and one was ordering from the touch screen. There needs to be some sort or organize way to place self orders away from people taking orders to eliminate the confusion. Btw, you get no size option. One size pho only... again, that's disappointing because some people may need a small or bigger bowl. One size bowl does not suit all... Display of drinks in a non working cooling shelf needs some work as well. Presentation was lacking. Then we get to the drink station and I noticed it's sorta like a self service fast food type restaurant. Noticed tongs and metal compartments for lime, bean sprouts, green onions, sliced jalapeños, sliced onions, and cilantro. So I went ahead and got a little dish for my veggies. I get my bowl of pho, and it was served with red onions, cilantro, and green onions already inside the bowl... okay... then we have a separate bowl with the basil, bean sprouts, and lime, and jalapeño. I basically got extra for nothing. What a waste! Moving forward, the pho broth was not good. Got the pho ga (chicken) and the broth was flavorless. Chicken was so dry, and by the looks of how clear the broth was, it just tasted like they had probably used instant flavor pho spice, rather than spending the long hours to cook real chicken and/ or beef bones. They filled the bowl with so much noodles... I did not enjoy my pho at all. For $10 I could have enjoyed it elsewhere.

Very Poor Attitude: Went for lunch today at the Anderson Lane location. Food was OK, but the fountain dispenser was out of sugar-free cola. I was there for supper about 8 days ago and they were out of sugar-free cola then as well. Today I asked the staff about this situation & was told they were waiting for "whoever supplies that" to make another delivery. They care so little about customer satisfaction they don't even bother to call for fresh supplies! I wonder what they would do if they ran out of vermicelli? Obviously taking customers for granted.

The best most flavorful veggie pho we have had since we moved here to the city. The restaurant is always clean staff are attentive and kind.

I've always avoided this place due to the tacky name, but was in the neighborhood and so hangry I decided to give it a try. $11 for a bowl of pho AND half a bahn mi?! Sign me up. Generous portions, flavorful broth, decent amount of meat, great service, and the restaurant has a clean, contemporary feel. The cafe su da was authentic and strong. The one thing that really stood out though, is that this is the first business I've been to since COVID started that has a foot door opener on the bathroom. I was able to leave the bathroom after washing my hands without touching anything! Every restaurant should have a bathroom foot door opener.

I'm from Southeast Texas and anytime I come to Austin this is my first and last stop. The Sarah bowl is my ultimate fave. Make it a combo! The Cream Stubborn Soda is sooooo good. The restaurant is always clean and the customer service is amazing! Thank you phonatic for an amazing experience AGAIN! Xo
