This is a beautiful National park. There are many walking trails for those who are not able to walk far and also for those who could walk a distance. The scenery is beautiful, and the natural rock formation, along with the rainforest surrounding this, makes it a beautiful place to take photos. I visited this twice, and it still never gets boring because of the beautiful scenery. There is a small cost to enter the park, which you can see how clean and safe is the National park. I highly recommend this as a place to visit.

A wonderful little park. Lots of cool rock structures and has nice posters explaining the plants and rocks. The hike is a bit long for the viewpoint but the general photo rocks are not even a 5 minute walk. A bit slippery when wet. Try to go on a not rainy day and bring some good shoes. I would suggest walking through the back to get some nice views. No wait and not busy on a weekday at 11am

This park is located just 20 minutes from Mukdahan. As a foreigner, I paid 100b entry. Visited on a Saturday, so there were a fair number of visitors. There's a large parking lot with some souvenir sellers and a few shops with drinks, but no cooked foods - you must bring your own. Several public toilet areas. You can wander around on the nearby cliffs and snap some photos, or you can take a walk on the nature trail. Out and back, it's a total of 6 km to walk to a waterfall, cliffs, and a scenic overlook. 7 km if you add a side trip to another waterfall. Be aware that although there are a few rest areas under shaded pavilions, the trail is exposed to the sun most of the way, and it gets hot walking around on the black rocks. Overall it's a very interesting geological formation in a clean and well maintained park.

Nice place and slippery hike. Go on an overcast day as there is little shade. An interesting natural park with not too many obstructions for pictures without all sorts of signs or other 'decorative' objects. The park seems busy on 'long' weekends.

Interesting rock formations, remembering which way you came from, it's easy to get lost walking here

Phu Pha Toep National Park, sometimes known by its old name of Mukdahan National Park, is a small but scenic reserve set on a sandstone plateau in the countryside of Mukdahan province. It is best-known for its otherworldly rock formations, which are often compared to mushrooms. A cluster of these can be found just behind the park headquarters. The more adventurous and motivated hiker can head for some nearby cliffs, which have views down into a lush gorge. Wildlife is sparse: we only saw a squirrel and some dragonflies. Entrance costs 200 baht for foreigners.
