Stopped in while we were traveling because these guys have a 4.9 rating on Google. I have to say, it's well deserved. We ordered the $12.45 lunch special and choose the Pomodori. The ingredients are fresh and the crust is perfectly crispy. Unfortunately, they kill you on the beer prices, so stick with soda if you are on a budget. The gelato and sorbet are great and they have a number of flavors. Cute atmosphere, great mob hits music, fantastic outdoor space, and plenty of inside seating. ♿ Friendly-ish. Like many old buildings, bathrooms aren't as easy to get into as we'd like, but they are well equipped inside.

So much fun in here! I was reminded of Arthur Avenue establishments in the Bronx for my first time visit tonight! Authentic Italian atmosphere & food. I enjoyed the Serano pizza. It has delicious sasuage & tomato & fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese on top of a large thin crust. The crust & toppings are delicious. I would say the crust could have been a bit more crisp. No complaints though! Also my pizza came fast out of the large impressive ovens! And the so helpful and complimentary server welcome me as a newbie to Pi-Nappo with free cannoli samples! These brought me back to Little Italy nights out in Manhattan. And the gelato! I tried strawberry with fresh chuunks of the fruit in it. I have been to Rome & Venice and this place is like pizza yum-times in Italy. Go!

We popped into Pi-Napo at 3 on a Friday afternoon, not super hungry but looking to tide ourselves over until a late dinner. This pizza was so good we would have been happy to spoil our dinner by eating more. Their pizzas are simple, nice and thin, with just a touch of chat on the crust. The ingredients are too notch, the dough, the tomato sauce and the cheese are absolutely delicious. We got a salad as well, which was nice and fresh with a tasty dressing to boot. I didn't expect a 'spice bar', but there it was, with basil, hot pepper, etc to add to your pizza as you like. The gelato looked enticing, rotating around in a cooler at the front, but we skipped it this time. We will be back for sure, I'm looking forward to it already. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, fast service and friendly staff top it off.

Google
Pi Napo Pizza never disappoints. Their pepperoni pizza is on another level perfectly crispy edges, generous layers of high-quality margarita, and a rich, flavorful sauce that brings everything together. The crust is just the right balance of soft and chewy, and every bite is full of flavor. If you’re a margarita lover, this is easily one of the best in town. Highly recommended!

Google
Pi Napo is hands down my favorite restaurant in Charlottesville! You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Tonight we got the Pomodori and it was delicious, as always. The staff is super friendly and accommodating every time we go. We also got a couple of cannolis, and they were seriously some of the best I’ve ever had. The whole place just has such a warm, welcoming vibe, and the food is always fresh and authentic. I recommend Pi Napo to anyone in Cville or just passing through. My only small complaint is that parking can be a bit tricky, but it’s 100% worth it!

Google
Tried the fungi pie, and being from the NJ / Philadelphia / NYC area, I was kind of disappointed. The crust is nice and thin, but despite being a little burnt on the bottom, isn’t crispy. The onions on the pizza overpowered the mushrooms such that it tasted like an onion pie rather the fungi. Perhaps, the pies with red sauce are less bland. The pies are a good size though. We did have a nice large salad, which was good. The people are nice and the service was fast and good.

Lindsey L.

Google
Pizza bottoms were all burned. They are large but so is the price and they won’t let you do half toppings in each side, which is especially difficult for families with kids. Very little cheese too. The staff was super sweet and I love the seating and cleanliness of the restaurant. No onsite parking either.

My 3rd or 4th trip to Charlottesville, Va, for sporting events football, lacrosse my son and I are Maryland fans. The people in Charlottesville are great, very friendly to opposing fans we enjoyed our time there. But the best was the pizza from Pi-Napo. This classic Old World pizza AMAZING. You have to try it. It's hard to explain, but when we're in Charlottesville that's our place we go. "GREAT JOB", GUY'S.

Yelp
My only regret is we've only been to Pi-Napo twice. We've had the pomodori and the Napo - they are insanely good. The thin crust is just right, the flavors fresh, and there's fresh Italian herbs you can add at your table. The Italian beers on tap are surprisingly crisp and flavorful, and compliment the pies perfectly. Leave room for dessert- everything in the case is awesome! The staff are so sweet and friendly, and I love the 1920's garage -total Fry Springs landmark inside and out.

Yelp
Oh Pi! This place was (na)POsitively great! We stopped in on a Friday afternoon and were able to sit om their spacious outdoor patio. They had a great indoor/outdoor space which is great during the summer. We shared a pizza (it was big enough for 2-3 people) and it was great! They make them fresh and I love the balance of flavors of the Verdura. We also got a cannoli which had the perfect ratio of chocolate to pistachio, would go back just for these! Definitely recommend checking this place out! My only negative would be the parking is pretty limited but there are a few street parking spots if you're able to snag them!

Yelp
Loved this place! It was so delicious! Mescolare pizza Palermo insalte ! Delicious Cannoli delicious! Lemon cake! Scrumptious !

Yelp
Amazing fresh pizza! I was surprised that Charlottesville had this pizza gem! The pizza is so big, and you can see them make it right after you place your order. Service was super fast. They also have desserts (gelato, tiramisu, cannoli, etc.). It is casual dine-in (inside and outside) and wasn't hard to find a place to sit. Will definitely come back again!

Yelp
As a former New Yorker and an ooni pizzaiolo, I am very picky about pizza. This place exceeds my standards. I loved the picante pizza. I made a red pepper flake and herb mixture at the seasoning bar by the drink fountain to sprinkle on my pizza and it made it even better! Highly recommend. I also ordered most of their desserts for my friends and I to share. My favorites are the cannoli, the tiramisu, and the pistachio & ricotta cake. The chocolate cake is okay. I will definitely be back! The owner is very friendly.

Yelp
Excellent lunch today at Pi-Napo Pizzeria in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was our first visit and what a really great place! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, great customer service and excellent pizza! We both had the lunch special and our pizza came out quickly and was amazing! So glad my hubby found this place! I would definitely be a regular if we lived near here!

Yelp
Delicious pizza!! I came here with my neice for some dinner and we were very excited. After looking at the menu, we ordered our meal at the cashier. We got a meat lovers pizza and I got the Palermo salad. First of all, the salad was insane. The homemade ranch on it was SO GOOD. We asked for an extra container and ended up dipping the pizza in it. The pizza was amazing as well! It's made right in front of you. It was so much fun watching the guys create the pizza and throw it into the brick oven. It was a well oiled machine. It felt like we had the inside scoop on how it all ran! Everyone was super friendly, too. Long story short, we will be returning to Pi-Napo again. It was absolutely amazing. I also want to try one of their desserts and gelato. YUM

Yelp
Easiest 5 star review I've written all year. Only open six months and they are off and running with amazing local buzz. These are the most authentic Neapolitan pies you may ever experience outside of Italy. There was one negative and that was where do you park. There is off street parking and I decided to walk a block and utilized a UVA parking lot. There is a pick up spot. The building is a converted 1940's gas station. So very cool factor with existing garage doors. There are tables to sit outside on warmer days than my family encountered. I can see live music being offered. Signage was good. Service was immediately very friendly. A menu board will help, but just ask and the staff was more than happy to guide me. The desert counter looked divine! The specialty is their Neapolitan cannoli. Also the gelato flavors are interesting, but the $35k machine is wow factor. Designed by Enzo Ferrari. Drinks are bottled, wine, beer and fountain sodas. There are plenty of interior wood tables with larger tables for group dining. Also bar seating for singles to enjoy the pizza making operation. Decor is Italian themed. Concrete floors and exposed brick adorn the space. The large open air kitchen is another cool factor. They had four or five Italian men all working hard. My order came out within 15 minutes. My sausage pizza which comes one size easily fed three plus and was the bomb, so quality. A house red wine paired perfectly with my pizza and was tasty. I also super enjoyed their Neapolitan cannoli. I also tried the chocolate gelato and would have probably got something else, but it was still pretty good. Everything is paper, plastic utensils and napkins on the table. This is a new place in Charlottesville that's a must checkout. I will return next time in town.

Yelp
The pizza was very big, delicious and freshly made. I liked almost all the ingredients and really wanted one with the fresh mozzarella so I got Catania but wanted to switch the meat however this place doesn't allow any substitutions and doesn't offer custom made pizzas. The pizza came out very quickly and smelled great in the car all the way back home. Their tiramisu was perfect and probably the best I've ever had.

Yelp
Pro: online ordering, clean interior. Con: limited parking space. Passed by this restaurant many times and with so many positives review, I knew I had to give this place a try. Using the online ordering system I decide to order the meat lover pizza. It only took them about 10 minutes for my order to be ready. Upon entering the restaurant, it was clean and picking up the food was quick and easy. The pizza was thin, crispy, and a bit of char. The taste was very unique and different compared to your normal big chain pizzas. All in all, a place definitely worth trying if you are in the Charlottesville area.

Yelp
I've had Pi-Napo on my list since it opened, and I'm so glad to have finally tried it. This pizzeria now tops my list of recommendations in Charlottesville! We ordered a pizza (the Peppe-- pepperoni) for pickup on a Thursday night. It was ready promptly, and when we swung by to get it, we saw the cannoli and realized we HAD to get some. I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the pizza; coming from the DC area, Neapolitan pizza at around this price is typically smaller there. We got 8 large slices from this! It is clear this pizza is made with love and care. High quality pepperoni, basil, cheese, and the most perfectly chewy crust. The cannoli were similarly mind blowing! The pistachio cream was so flavorful, and the ricotta filling was rich; the perfect balance for the crispy shell. We will definitely be back; I've got my eyes on their tiramisu and pistachio ricotta cake, as well as several of their pizzas. It's a small shop but would be a nice place to sit and eat. There is outdoor seating too if the weather allows.

Yelp
The location looked like an abandoned gas station. It's quite large inside, but I came at the end of the day for takeout. The vibe is more casual than the other prominent Neapolitan place in town. The cuisine certainly had some Neapolitan style and quality ingredients. I was surprised that they do a bigger size than most Neapolitan places; to finish a whole pizza in one go would be a stretch. It also came sliced (with a slicer that could have been cleaned after the other pizzas but wasn't), which seems like sacrilege but does have pragmatic value. The slight char of the crust, the hit of the basil, and the richness of unflavored cheese were all on point, however. A salad delivered blueberries and apricot dressing, which is a similar flavor combination to one I've ordered elsewhere so it must be a thing. It's good. Clear dietary markings helped as well. I didn't think it was the best in town, but I visited it because I wanted both quality and expediency and I could come again for that.

Yelp
I finally had the opportunity to return and try the gelato! I had the chocolate flavor, and it was rich and dark - not too sweet. I also had the Funghi pizza for the second time and it was even better than the first time. A little dark around the edges, but the toppings were even and flavorful. Excited to try the pizza bianco and macarons in the future. I saw they had a lunch special that includes a personal pizza and drink for ~$12, which is a great opportunity to try different flavors since their regular pizzas are only one size and they don't do slices. One recommendation I have is that the gelato flavors aren't listed on the website/ordering platforms - not sure if they rotate, but it would be great to be able to see those there.

Yelp
this place is so buss down boots. very yummy. always get them for catering cause the pizzas STAY GOOD! they really lean into that italian feel so it's perfect vibes italian music playing tastefully inside and nice decor.

Yelp
It's good!! We had a Pepe, pepperoni pizza shared across two people, with two slices home in a takeaway box, for the next day. Prompt, freshly made, thin crust pizza that was indeed reminiscent of a pizza I had in Naples, 6-7 years ago. Very nice... and will be back to try their version of a Pissaladière-- caramalized onions etc... That, and a 4.95$ to-the-rim pour of a drinkable montepulciano
google avatar

Kristy W.

Yelp
Great pizza! I grew up in upstate New York, so take that as you will. I'm used to tasty pizza on the thinner crust side. This is very classic Neapolitan style. They do it so well! They have a good variety of pizzas to choose from, beers available for purchase, and some pretty good gelato for dessert! Their salads are also amazing and large! Service is fast and accommodating.

Yelp
We are Fans! This place has only been open for probably a month now. Go early on the weekends. Parking is a challenge. Thankfully you can park at the gas station across the street after 4pm on weekdays. The owner (Honor) is super friendly and committed to making this business work. They really have done their homework. The menu is simple. Salads and pizza, wine and draft beer, cannoli's + gelato. You order first and go sit down and wait for it to be ready, which really didn't take that long. They have plenty of help in the kitchen making pizzas and salad. Their menu is simple which probably helps in the efficiencies of delivering good food. C-ville is short on good pizza locations. This place just went to the top on my list for good pizza. Honor, keep up the great things you are doing. We will be back with friends.

Yelp
Fresh, well-done pizza at its finest! Thin crust pizza with a brick oven touch makes it the perfect meal that hits the spot every time!

Yelp
Walking into this pizzeria felt like walking into a good pizza joint. That is exactly how we felt about this place. It felt good. We ordered a margherita pizza and while we lowered our expectations after a few disappointments here in town, this exceeded my typical expectation of a good pizza. The crust held its texture and never got soggy fresh out the oven, the cheese was a solid chew, herbal with the basil, mild to moderate grease that was not overwhelming the wife. There was a condiment station with salt, chili pepper, dried herbs, Parmesan I believe. It was great to have that in case we wanted some more spice on top of the za' The service was great as they recommended some of their options and we did go with the margherita recommended. The ambiance was perfect for a Saturday where we can sit down inside in nice sunny weather watching some soccer on the tele! Bottom line: i like this place better than Lampo. I think you basically get Lampo, but here. Quality is definitely here. We found our new pizza place!
google avatar

Lincoln T.

Yelp
Brand new in the Charlottesville area, Pi-Napo Pizzeria is a great lunch/dinner spot! I recommend their current lunch deal, $12 for a 10-inch pizza with a drink since it's the perfect amount to fill you up. I had the Salerno pizza, just a traditional tomato & cheese base with some sausage on top. The crust was so soft and was great, the sauce had a great tomato taste, I think there was some olive oil that shone through the flavor too? Plenty of cheese that was likewise amazing, all around a great pizza! If you're 21 or over, they have a nice selection of drinks by the glass or bottle, their moscato was light and crisp with notes of apple.

Yelp
I am so happy that this place is finally open!!! I live in Fry's Spring and pass by this building every day so was eagerly awaiting their launch. The staff was super friendly and explained the menu to us when we walked in. It's a fast-casual design where you order at the counter and they deliver your food to your table. This was my first time trying Neapolitan pizza and it was a great introduction. Our pizza (the verdura) was so fresh tasting, not greasy at all, and had just the right amount of char on the crust. Also a pretty good sized pizza for the price! Great addition to the neighborhood! I can't wait to come back and try the gelato too :)
google avatar

Cassie V.

Yelp
How lovely is this place?! Pizza always has the opportunity to be underwhelming, but these pies were just amazing, and when paired with their salad and a little gelato to finish off with, it just made for such a perfect dinner. Loved the open kitchen, huge brick oven, long communal tables, walls stacked with tomato sauce cans and preserved veg and drink. Small amount of staff was hoofing it around the kitchen, chatting it up with regulars and irregulars (that would be us), and so so kind and friendly. It was a whole atmosphere that honestly felt cozy and transportive to an entirely different place. We left full and happy and feeling like we had the perfect family dinner out.
google avatar

Keri S.

Yelp
So good - exceeded my expectations! You order at the register and take your number to the table, where they deliver it to you when it's ready. There is ample seating, and the staff members are so nice; it's refreshing to go into a service establishment where the workers don't seem unhappy to be there. Customers had their dogs and board/card games while sitting outside. The parking situation leaves something to be desired, but that's to be expected on JPA, and we were able to park on the side street behind the nearby laundromat. The salads are very generously sized for the price. The pizza tastes super fresh with the most delightful sauce [I don't know that I've ever used the word delightful in a review before, but that's what it is.], and our crust was done perfectly. As a sauce lover, I usually ask for as much extra as possible, but that's not necessary here. My picky son even ate 2 slices. The peppers on the picante pizza were deliciously spicy. We have been chronically underwhelmed with the pizza options in Charlottesville, but this will be our new go-to. In comparison to Lampo, I would say it's ever so slightly thicker crust, so it's more filling, and you get more of it for a similar price without having to wait for a tiny cramped seat to eat in. They had so many gelato flavors to choose from! We had mint, vanilla, and strawberry, and all tasted delicious. The mint wasn't toothpasty, the vanilla tasted like genuine vanilla bean, and the strawberry tasted fresh with chunks of strawberries in it. The serving was very generous - much larger than you would get at Splendora's. Overall 10/10.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Excellent pizza in a fast-casual atmosphere. You order your pie at the counter and they bring the order to your table (remarkably fast). Ingredients are fresh, pizza is the perfect texture, and the pies are LARGE. I also enjoyed their impressive gelato (and gelato dispenser!) Parking is a pain (street parking or the gas station across the street) but the food is worth it!
google avatar

Kate D.

Yelp
Amazing pizza! One size 16" feeds two people. Wine was cheap but extremely small pour. I wish it would've been $2 more and a larger pour. Salad was crispy and fresh!
google avatar

Richard P.

Yelp
Did a take-out funghi and added sausage. Was pretty cold when we got it home. Flavor was good, and the ingredients were good, but there weren't nearly enough of them. Very skimpy on mushrooms (for this pizza that's just wrong)... They put 3 or 4 basil leaves ... at that point it's just garnish... I doubt there was more than a couple tablespoons of sausage. Cheese was adequate but not a lot of flavor. You'd have to add the spices they offer in store to get it to zip. Even with truffle oil it was blandy. I'd give it another shot, but dine-in this time.
google avatar

Claude S.

Yelp
This has to be one of the best pizza places I've been to in the US. The people that work here are extremely polite and seem very passionate about their food. Pizza is absolutely fantastic, ingredients are fresh, seasoned perfectly, not too heavy, the crust is perfect, not too doughy, not too crispy. The gelato is great too. The atmosphere is open but still cozy, and has a nostalgic feel. I highly recommend this place, definitely coming back next I'm in VA
google avatar

Zoe G.

Yelp
The pizza is always amazing, went as a group for lunch the other day. It was very busy so it took a little longer than normal but still quick. The gelato is also so good.
google avatar

Brandon B.

Yelp
I didn't think anything could top Lampo, but Pi-Napo knocks it out of the park AND it's super approachable. Easy to get a table, pizza is so good, and the cannoli are superb. I like Lampo's bar better (the drink selection here is just OK), but pizza-wise, this slays. Plus, you can bring your family and friends because there's so much seating. Huge fan. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Hello loyal readers and friends. Let me tell you something. I am a pizza enthusiast and connoisseur. I have eaten pizza from nearly all 50 states and multiple continents. Pizza isn't a food, it's an art form, it's a religion, it's a lifestyle. This is exemplified beautifully by the Neapolitan pizza, the best type of pizza in the game. Focusing on the simple ingredients that make up a pizza, Neapolitan pizza puts an emphasis on the composition and freshness. Let me tell you everyone, Pi-Napo has truly authentic, delicious, and beautifully crafted pizza. I am in shock and in love and I never want to stop eating here. As a seasoned pizza chef myself, I am impressed and enamored by the quality and swiftness. Also they gave us 2 cannolis for the price of free! I shall now give the phone to Charlotte, as I'm sure she has much to say as well. Hey folks. Charlotte here. I think Jake really spelled it out for the both of us--this place had amazing pizza, fast service, and their cannolis are fantastic. Plus, it's fairly affordable for the quality and size of the pizza (I'm looking at you students. This place is on JPA.) anyways this place is easily best pizza in Charlottesville there is no comparison I fear okay bye bye. WE LOVE NEAPOLITAN PIZZA AND THE CHARLOTTESVILLE AREA!! This review was left by the Charlotte & Jake review.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
Pizza was great and I loved the cannolis This was my first time in Charlottesville I really enjoyed the atmosphere and being able to eat outside.
google avatar

L B.

Yelp
We had the large Verdura, Bianca, funghI and napo (no sausage) pizzas, all were delicious: from the light crust, lightly charred-on-the-outside, soft and fully-cooked inside, flavorful, generous toppings: large dollops of very-fresh ricotta, mozzarella, tomatoes, etc. the pizzas were brought to our table in large baking trays. Overall, the best pizzas we've eaten so far. Meraviglioso! One suggestion to the owners is to include a chicken topping as an option, either chicken sausage or chunks of roasted chicken. Desserts are also tasty with just the right amount of sweetness: pistachio gelato, pistachio ricotta cake, and especially the tiramisu. Service itself was friendly and efficient.
google avatar

Jimmy S.

Yelp
You will not find any pizza place around, that is more authentic than this and man is it delicious.
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Really good pizza it compares to Lampo and this place has plenty of seating but parking can be difficult. You can park across the street at the gas station after 4pm without an issue usually

Yelp
Deeeeeelicious pizza. Several draft beers. Lovely outdoor seating. Love this place. If we come back to Charlottesville, we will come back. Coming from Dallas where there is a TON of good food- I can attest, this place is a gem.

Yunus Emre T.

Yelp
It was my first time and i loved the ambiance and food. One of the best pizza i've ever had in my life. Everything was so fresh and high quality! And pistachio cake is my new favorite

Theodore S.

Yelp
Did not like the pizza at all . Very doughy and not even crispy. Sauce was bitter. Not my cup of tea. Service was very good and the place it self was ok . I had a cannoli the Italians make the best and they need to take a lesson from them . Maybe other like this but I won't be back

Lauren S.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things! Everything I've tried so far has been excellent, and the service is very prompt. Love sitting on the patio with friends, great pizza, and a bottle of wine...hard to beat.

Paula B.

Yelp
Our table of 6 had 5 different pizzas and each one had top notch ingredients and a marvelous crust. The lunch special was a terrific value. Also had the chocolate layer cake which was fresh and delicious. The staff were exceptional too! We look forward to returning.

Daisy H.

Yelp
I only leave reviews if I feel EXTREMELY strong about a place... and this pizza was the BEST I have had in all of Charlottesville (yes, better than Lampo). I got the Mescolare (Meat Lover), Napo, and chocolate cake.. everything was amazing. Perfect crust (crispy and not too thick), amazing sauce to cheese ratio, just perfection!! Super friendly staff and great vibes inside. If you want pizza in Charlottesville, you NEED to come here
google avatar

Patrick H.

Yelp
This is the pizza that I never knew I wanted and never knew existed. The crust is a perfect combination of light crisp and a beautiful soft chew. With the quality of the sauce and cheese and toppings, it is absolutely enchanting. As good as the pizza was, the gelato was also uniquely special and delicious. After 30 years here and longtime love affairs with local pizza legends, this place may be the new go to! Well done!!

Francisco P.

Yelp
Ask for the pizza well done. Decent flavor but floppy. The pizza is kind of expensive and no substitutions.

Phineas B.

Yelp
Great food, great service, it's been my family's favorite place to go since it's been open. best pizza in Charlottesville

Yelp
First time at the place. Growing up in NYC I'm really picky about pizza and this was delicious pizza! Great service. I'll be back.

Michael F.

Yelp
Fresh ingredients, hand tossed dough and good service make for a great restaurant. One of the best pizzas I've had with pepperoni and mushrooms. The sausage was okay.

Andi G.

Yelp
Super good New Jersey quality pizza. Salads are also terrific. Cannolis are wonderful and gelato flavors are yummy.

Allison P.

Yelp
Wow! This pizza was sooooo good! Vibe of the pizzeria was fun too. Great indoor and outdoor seating! Definitely give it a try!! Great and friendly service!

Sk W.

Yelp
Wonderful pizza place. Authentic, warm , inviting and the pizza is the best in Cville. (I live in NYC so I KNOW great pizza.) They serve wine and beer as well as fab desserts and gelato. Just Go.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Best in town for Neapolitan pizza, not that we have a lot of choices. The lunch deal is quite a good draw as well.
