12 Mall of America Restaurants That Are Actually Good

"This fast-casual Italian restaurant is a great place to stop for a quick bite. Try the chef’s favorite piada — an Italian-style street wrap with romaine, mozzarella, sweet peppers, and spicy diavolo sauce. Or get some tossed pasta, or a grain bowl. Find it on level three in the North Garden." - Justine Jones, Joy Summers

Google
I really wish I’d discovered this place a bit earlier! What a great find. The menu is solid, and everything tastes fresh and full of flavor. If it’s your first time here, ordering can feel a little hectic. They could really use some self-order kiosks — trying to explore the menu and order at the same time is a bit of a juggle, especially when there’s a line behind you. During peak hours, I noticed things can back up a little at the counter. That said, once the food arrived, all was forgiven. It was fresh, tasty, and absolutely worth the wait.

Google
Looks better than it tastes, but that might have been my picks. Menu is confusing as it doesn't tell you what you need to order and when staff is asked you get pointed back to the menu, around the corner, that didn't tell you anything in the first place like you are stupid with blank stares on their face. It's a chipotle esqe, ordering experience, but just go to Chipotle instead...it's far better.

I took my lady to the MOA. On a whim, we stopped for lunch at Piada. Well, between the young man who took my order, to the young manwho finished the irder. Not one smile, hello, how can I help. I have worked customer service my whole life. When you work in a fast paced .all court, your number one prioiry should be to smile and appreciate the cusromer. I ordered the Pasta Diovala and was expecting more spice, bold flavor. There was nothing. Pretty blah! I try to eat something not original to my home. This was a disappoinment. I would not make a high recommendation to eat here.

Google
Piada is always my first stop when I go to the mall. I’m never disappointed in the food, the pesto is my favorite. Octavious, Kya & Andrew were the sweetest and most helpful today!!!!! 10/10 employees. Will always be back!

Hanna H.

Google
I love piada so I stopped by the one in the mall and the workers were all so nice. The guy who made my pasta even asked if I preferred it saucier (real g) and the one who checked me out recommended the peach basil drink which was also good! I got the carbonara bowl with crispy chicken and loved it.

Google
I placed an online order for a “create your own pasta” dish. I chose steak as one of the ingredients, along with a few others. When I got home, I saw that there was no steak in it at all. At first, I thought I might have forgotten to add it when placing the order, but nope, it was clearly listed on the receipt. Next time, I won’t order online. It’s probably better to order at the counter and eat right there in the food court so that if something is missing, I can bring it to their attention right away.

Jaemarie R.

Google
Every time I order from Piada they never disappoint. Their conversation always gives off an energy that puts you at ease, great thing to pair with your food. Thank you Piada team!

Amanda B.

Google
Absolutely delicious and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I will definitely be returning for more!

Yelp
So good and the workers were so nice! I loved my diavolo and will definitely be back! Thank you!

Yelp
If you're at the mall North side, 3rd floor, looking for a bite to eat, you can't go wrong with Piada! There was no line and I walked up. I was ignored for about 4 minutes. This is the reason for the lost star. No one acknowledged me. Or said "we'll be with your shortly." Instead I was stared at until someone decided to come and take my order. I decided to get the basil pesto in a small. The flavors were solid and the noodles weren't gummy or over done. The Parmesan Piada stick was chewy, cheesy and delicious! Get the ranch to dip it! Since this is on the 3rd floor, I recommend getting your food and taking it to the big windows to watch the planes!

Yelp
A chipotle/poke bowl style pasta store in Mall of America food court. You pick your noodle and sauce base (marinara, pesto, Alfredo, etc), then protein, then pick your unlimited toppings. I got the medium bowl with crispy chicken. The protein was super flavorful and this was such a filling and hearty yet healthy meal! Loved the fact that you could add sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and all those veggies on there! The cold corn salad had a wonderful crunch with seasoned baby tomatoes and a nice citrusy taste. There was no line on a Wednesday dinner and the staff whipped up my meal super quickly! There's plenty of seating with two or four tops since it's part of a food court.

Yelp
The food was good. Lots of choices and options. This place gets busy and can take some time before you are able to order but they try and move the line as quickly as possible. The pasta is fresh and nicely seasoned.
google avatar

Yelp
Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick and different lunch from all your fast food places. I wasn't expecting it to be this good. The pasta was creamy and very tasty. My only complaint is that they could have added a little bit more chicken. Service was quick. Other than that, price was good and the taste amazing. May be the best fast food court option at the mall!
google avatar

Jennie S.

Yelp
Extremely fresh and extremely tasty option for a food court!! I recently tried Piada and it has become my go to MOA food option. I will note, I previously avoided this place because it was not clear how to order. After checking the menu on the website, I was confident in ordering at the counter. The wrap is coated with butter and a seasoning mixture -- this made the whole meal for me.

Yelp
Love love lovee Piada!! I wish I lived closer to one because I could get more of it than I do now. Everytime I go here the workers are so nice! I would say the line might be long, but it's worth the wait. I usually switch between the avocado piada- add steak or basil pesto pasta - Add steak and bacon. Depending on how I feel but both are sooo good! You can never go wrong with pasta. They usually give a good amount so, I would say it is pretty filling. Plus if you are a student, they have student discounts every day depending on the time. Sometimes I buy pepperoni piada stick and it is so crispy and flavorful. My only wish was there was a better selection of drinks. They should definitely open more stores but right now every I go to the mall this is where I would choose to eat.
google avatar

Mia C.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite "fast food" restaurants. I use to order from here 2+ times a week when i was younger. The power bowl is delicious and super flavorful. It's a healthier option to get at the mall and very filling !!! the service is very fast and the workers have always been nice The area around it is just the mall food court so it's nothing fancy. Love coming here!!
google avatar

Jann B.

Yelp
Came here for lunch and ordered the avocado piada with grilled chicken. Line was long but went by fairly quickly. Set-up is lile chipotle but with fresher, healthier, Italian cuisine ingredients. Staff were kind and efficient. Once I got my Piada, I realized that they forgot to put grilled chicken in it so I went back to let them know. Staff were kind enough to remedy the situation and give me some grilled chicken. Price a bit up there but fai considering the ingredients were fresh and of good quality.

Yelp
Eat here in the Mall of America food court! Best mall meal I've ever had. Pasta and salad were both excellent (husband also raved about the calamari fried fresh in front of him). Wish there was one in Chicago!
google avatar

Whitney M.

Yelp
This place was great! A quick stop within the mall after walking around for a few hours. For those who don't eat pork, you can modify your order to exclude it. The staff was quick and kind. They made sure they had my order correct. I'm not sure if there are other locations so if there isn't check this one out. Because the location is in the mall you'll find sitting in the food court.
google avatar

Risa Y.

Yelp
Why is it that when a place starts out excellent, it seems to always drops in quality. I'm so sad! The Carbonara is no longer good. The portion was small and sauce very bland...what happened? And to add insult to injury, they forgot my protein... in my last order...what happened to my chicken. I asked for chicken...I'm not sure how it got missed. Since I took it home to eat my dinner...I wasn't able to go back to the counter to say "Hey, where's my chicken?" There was no chicken in my pasta dinner. I will not be back.
google avatar

Shaquanda M.

Yelp
Ones of my fav restaurants to visit when I'm in town. It was pretty busy but the line went by fast. I ordered the carbonara with Italian sausage. Ahh noticed when I got to the sausage it was not the sausage I was used to getting. This looked like round Italian sausage pieces that belong on a pizza. I have to say I prefer the sausage links that they cut. It added more flavor to the dish. I'm pretty sure I'll be back to try something else on the menu.
google avatar

Linda W.

Yelp
I had the avocado Prada- not sure what they spread on the wrap...weird and salty. My companion liked his spaghetti with tomato sauce. If I return will do the penne and sauce.

Annabelle E.

Yelp
Hiiii I love Piada so much but haven't been back in quite some time and you guys don't have sun dried tomatoes anymore:(( my basil pesto pasta was so much better with those. Still love yall but I recommend bringing them back, guy working told me to make a review

Yelp
I was super hungry and wanted food NOW, so we stood in a short line for Piada instead of going to a "nicer" sit down restaurant. I usually go salad but I was HUNGRY, so I tried an avocado wrap. My boyfriend got the power bowl and we shared half of each. Every bite of the salad and sandwich was like heaven! Such heavenly flavors, Such high end food. Such lovely service. The owner/manager guy is always the first you see and makes the majority of the food and is always so smiley and friendly even if the line is halfway down the mall. He suggested a meat for my wrap and it was amazing. I don't normally do wraps because they're typically to thick and yucky, but this was thin, sort of lefsa weight if you're Norwegian and get the reference. The money guy gave us water in nice cups rather than upselling to bottles and we ate our food while watching the shoppers walk by the food court. It was $29, so not cheap, but how much is regular fast food now? Try it! You will not be disappointed!

Sierra H.

Yelp
amazing service and staff, with good prices. really enjoyed my farmers salad, and felt like the staff was able to give good feedback about which salad they liked best. Chef Octavious specifically went out of his way to make sure I had everything I needed. Chef Nick even gave us a free cookie! If ur at the mall, come here

Yelp
We wanted a late and fast lunch after having taken a Grey Line tour of the Twin Cities. Our pick up and drop off location was Mall of America, so we headed to one of their food courts. FOOD. (rating: 4.25/5). As usual, my husband and I split our entrees. I ordered a regular Basil Pesto Pasta ($10.19). It comes with pasta (your choice of penne or spaghetti), Parmesan Alfredo sauce, basil pesto, bruschetta tomatoes, and shaved Parmesan cheese. I also added grilled chicken (+$2.69) and roasted red peppers (+$0.00). Rating: 4.5/5. We enjoyed this entree. Shaved off a half-point from the rating only because the quantity of chicken was quite small and got lost when mixed with the other ingredients. In the future, I might also add some additional free toppings (spinach, roasted broccoli) to increase the amount of vegetables/fiber. My husband ordered the regular Farmers Market Salad ($10.79), which featured chopped greens, a cabbage and kale blend, strawberries, feta, sweet corn and tomato, fresh avocado, and glazed pecans. The salad comes with a lemon basil dressing, but he substituted a creamy basil Parmesan dressing. Our rating for his salad is 4/5. WhiLe tasty, neither of us recall there having been any feta, avocado, or glazed pecans. Also, we asked for the dressing on the side and the quantity was insufficient for a large salad. Quantities overall were good. We have some salad leftover which we will eat with our own salad dressing. SERVICE. (2/5). Customers order at a counter using a menu that is posted on the wall. All of the ingredients are in a counter, and are mixed fresh upon ordering. There were about four customers in front of us when we entered the line, and it moved quite slowly, seemingly because of some inefficiencies of the workers putting together the orders. They seemed quite disorganized. When it was our turn, my husband went first and they started working on his order. However, the first worker on the line then decided to move all of the food containers to scrub down the counter before taking my order -- in spite of the fact that the line behind me was getting longer and my husband needed to wait for my order to pay for us together. Luckily, he was the one to have ordered the salad; if I had gone first, my pasta would've been cold by the time the second order was finished. We would eat here again. Four stars overall, based more on food taste than on ordering experience.

Prerna M.

Yelp
After seeing all the amazing reviews for this place, I decided to try it, but I was disappointed. Honestly, there's nothing to really be impressed with. For the pastas, they just put sauce on noodles and that's it. I kept finding hard noodles among my spaghetti, which was pretty gross. The service here was also pretty bad. The person who made mine was rude, and when I asked for extra cheese at the end, he rolled his eyes. Overall, this place isn't horrible, but it's not a great choice either. If you have no other options, go here, if not, don't waste your time.
google avatar

Holly C.

Yelp
I can't speak for the pastas but boy, their salads especially the Avocado Chop Salad is the bomb. Chockful of fresh and healthy ingredients. Plus it's m a party for the mouth with lots of flavor and textures. So surprised to find such a great salad at a mall food court and at a very affordable price. You can order a small and large bowl.
google avatar

Krizelle G.

Yelp
So the food is obviously on point and memorable, but i think the main issue in particular is the service and just the way the whole ordering system works. There was a long line and it was obviously very busy on a Friday night for dinner around 5pm. It's like ordering from chipotle, there's a line of people preparing the order asking you what you want and adding the stuff as you move down the line, but really bad and inefficient. The food preparer asked for our orders and said he got it. He made one of the bowls and turned to ask us again for the next item. Then the next guy asks the same question, forgets what we just said, and asks again. It was like this for all the 4 items we ordered and finally just before we paid i noticed that the order was incorrect so they had to go back and fix it. This location is in the mall of America food court

Yelp
Great food made by a great team! The restaurant was clean and inviting and the avocado Piada was delicious.
google avatar

Paige F.

Yelp
I got the penne basil pesto Alfredo pasta, it was so good! If your a pesto lover like me you'll like this. There was a protein option but I do not eat meat so I didn't add protein. The service was good, the atmosphere was good. Everyone was extremely friendly even the chef! I'm glad I went here because I was looking for something quick & delicious and I got exactly that !
google avatar

Makenna S.

Yelp
We LOVED Piada Italian street food!! I'm always trying to eat healthy and Whole Foods, and this place has many options! Super customizable and tasty. Fast service for such a busy mall! Casual spots to eat in the food court. Just the perfect spot! 10/10 would recommend!

Co M.

Yelp
piada is so dope the fact that you bc an get extra toppings with no upcharge makes it worth it alone. only gripe is that the grilled chicken quality could be a little bit better.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
Alright, alright, let's review some mall food, but not any mall food! Mall of America food which is a right-away if you do Mall of America right! Also, side-note, whoever gave this place two $ signs is a serious cheapo. Almost everything was under ten dollars and for a ten dollar bowl of pasta it's massive and kept me (a grown man) full for the rest of the day. Really cool concept that I'm kind of shocked isn't more places. You essentially build your own pasta bowl: they throw it all together, throw it in the oven really quick, stain it with sauce, add fresh toppings, and mix it together. Everything is super fresh, super tasty, and relatively cheap (Mall of America food does get oddly expensive). I got the Pesto Bowl with Spaghetti and chicken. This was perfect and hit the spot. I want to try and make it at home even like they did. Next was the Chef Special Piada which was absolutely delicious. I can honestly say I've never had anything like that before in my life. The texture on the wrap is perfectly chewy and crispy all at the same time. Mall of America has a TON of places to eat at and I'm really happy we ate here. We got two massive bowls of pasta and a handmade Piada for about $32 bucks and they don't make you tip on a credit card. Come on...you can't beat that and especially in the Mall of America.
google avatar

YiQing G.

Yelp
Always enjoy piada during our Mall of America trip. We love how flavorful the piada are. And our toddler loves their garlic dough. The ingredients seems very fresh and also the restaurant provides healthy choice. Love this place.
google avatar

Edward S.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to eat at the Mall of America. The Diavolo is hot but very tasty. You can also get the pasta in a wrap if you request it. Sometimes the lines are long here, that is the only downside.
google avatar

Anushka P.

Yelp
Loved the service, and tried the chef's favorite Piada, it was so good Great choice for a quick bite
google avatar

Brianna R.

Yelp
For my lunch at Mall of America, I wanted to dine somewhere that I'd never tried before, which ruled out a chunk of the food court. Piada caught my attention because it seemed parallel to a concept I'd been discussing (oft while inebriated) for years: Chipotle but for Italian food. Piada offers a flexible menu that lists out several Italian street food options. I went with the smaller portion of the Carbonara Pasta. Considering that this eatery was located in a mall (albeit MOA) food court, I was super impressed. My pasta was really good. Under normal circumstances, I may have been a bit miffed it was so spinach-heavy, but since my teeth were covered by my mask, I didn't mind. Great, quick, and unique mall dining experience!!

Jose P.

Yelp
Delicious food. The carbonara pasta with hot chicken was great. The line moved steadily even while the restaurant was busy.

Stephan C.

Yelp
chef octavius was amazing i loved the food and service was amazing. Defeniftly will slide back again

Talitha V.

Yelp
Service was excellent. The food was so good. I couldn't even even take a picture of it. Had to eat it. I highly recommend going. Octavias at Mall of America was extraordinary!

Yelp
I finally made it to a Piada. Stopped by the one at the Mall of America and there was a line. I thought, ooh popular, must be good right?! Wrong! I ordered a wrap and a small pasta dish. It's a really limited menu so I assumed that they must do those things really well then, right? Not really. The wrap was passable because I was super hungry. I got the crispy chicken bacon one. The dressing was a bit much and I could have used some avocado so if I ever have to go back I would order that with the dressing on the side and add avocado. The Carbonara was so very, very sad. They place a pan on the griddle thing that reheats the wrap. They add some noodles to the warm pan and slop sauce and the different ingredients on top then mix it around a bit. I was dumb and added the spicy sausage in it with it's up charge. This was so gross! Cold noodles with lukewarm, bland Alfredo and burnt sausage patties. Disgusting. Then to add insult to injury I had ordered a soda and asked about refills. The cashier said he'd refill it. So when I was ready to go- a long line of people gave me dirty looks as I asked for a refill. Which the cashier went to get back behind a secret passage way where the special fountain beverages flow. He made me keep my lid and straw then returned an overflowing cup of florescent yellow beverage without adding any new ice. I sighed and then threw it away. I brought my sad noodle leftovers home and they are still sitting in my fridge. Hoping that my teenager would take them out for me so I won't have to. I don't understand why this place is a thing. Why is it a thing? Is it the location? The long line? I don't know, but I'm not going to willingly go back to this spot. Not with so many other amazing options so close by.
google avatar

Jack L.

Yelp
Great food, Very kind and patient staff, The place was clean and line was quick. Not sure who owns this chain or specific location but they gotta give these folks a raise!! Will be returning regularly!

M S.

Yelp
Basil pesto pasta with Salmon bowl was delish. Good price for the large serving of noodles and pasta. Line was a little long but everything was made fresh. It felt like a real restaurant at the food court. Give it a shot!
google avatar

Mikey H.

Yelp
I saw a review posted of Piada and complimented DaVonna H's photo. Since I was going to the Mall of America, I planned on going here for lunch. I ordered the Basil Pesto Pasta and added chicken. This was very good! Really good pesto flavor. The only thing I didn't like was he had the pan on the grill, put all the ingredients in, and then passed it to another guy who put it all together. It just sat there while he was doing a complicated salad for the woman in front of me... "Dang, it's a salad...why complicate things?" which was going through my mind. They were out of the peach iced tea, so I settled for the orange Italian soda. So by the time I found a seat, I'm not sure if the pasta had cooled down because of my search or that the pan wasn't hot enough. Other than that, it was good and the staff was friendly. There are so many places to eat. I would skip all the fast food and chain places and give this one a try.
google avatar

Candy B.

Yelp
Skip all the fast food joint in the Mall of America food court! Hands down, Piada is the best option there! Their pastas are great. (I can't recommend the meatballs enough!) Plus, the price is right. Their workspace is open so you can see that they make the food fresh for you. For my first time, I ordered their Diavolo Pasta with Meatballs and also added mushrooms, zucchini, and grated parmesan. The meal was amazing! Their meatballs are big and definitely made in-house. And the Diavolo pasta sauce is similar to a homemade pasta red sauce... but with a nice little spicy kick to it! I definitely recommend that combo. I went back another time and tried the Carbonara Pasta with Hot Chicken and it was also good. I'd recommend this place for anyone wanting good food while shopping here! Just a heads up, their line and wait times for food can vary depending on how busy the mall actually is. But but patient! The food is worth the wait :)
google avatar

Vince B.

Yelp
One of my fave's of you're seeking something fresh at MOA - always made to order. All the offerings I've sampled are solid, but the chef's piada with calamari is especially enjoyable.
google avatar

Nancy C.

Yelp
Piada is one of my favorite go to places in the MOA food court. The food is always delicious. I have yet to try every item on the menu because you can customize almost anything. I love all the options. Mobile order is simple to use, however pick up is not always the most efficient. Sometimes there is a line of customers at the register and I have to wait behind people just to be able to approach the counter to ask for my already paid for meal. I wish there was a separate area like Panera for mobile/pick up orders.

Alise K.

Yelp
The service is good. The food court can get noisy but is a pretty area. The pasta and sticks are great. It's the salad/pasta version of Chipotle.

Duane K.

Yelp
This place has been going down hill on service for years now, I'm surprised they are still alive! I waited 30 minutes in line yesterday, at MOA they had 5 people working at 1 point and still the line did not move then once it went down to two workers it got slower. No discount, not free pop for the wait nothing! Just trash service by angry employees. Place was dirty and they are putting dropped food back into the containers. The big woman cook was giving attitude to anyone who looked irritated like it's their fault U can't treat employees right so they will stay. Food was not even good, this place honestly was the worst service I received in the last 5 years, they are even worse then Burger King or yes even Comcast! They EVEN looked to be making online orders still when the customers in line were not even taken care of. If ur that low close the online or the store, that would make sense right, chipotle does it all the time now I know why! This was a horrible visit that ended in horrible food as well!!! The chicken was good that's why u got a 1
google avatar

Pam H.

Yelp
Good food fast (unless there is a long line). This place is worth the wait. It doesn't taste like fast food at all. The meats are precooked and heated in hot skillets as you order right in front of you. I got the pesto pasta with calamari and the sweet corn salad. Both were excellent.
google avatar

Kaitlin L.

Yelp
I used to love this place. My sister and I visited today and ordered 2 avocado piada's to go & 2 drinks - $35. They forgot to put corn, tomato, avocado, in my piada. I'm not sure why I was charged that much and it was missing half of the toppings...

Oscar F.

Yelp
Definitely worth trying. They have the best spaghetti carbonara that I have ever had.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
I have recently discovered Piada and it's changed my foodie life! It's delicious and 100x better than grabbing any other fast food. It's like the Italian version of chipotle. Try the Fall Avocado Piada and add steak or chicken. It's so good!!! I can't describe it but there's so much more flavor than a burrito at chipotle. It's basically an Italian burrito with sweet potatoes, avocado, meat, dark/healthy green salad and dried red tomatoes if my taste buds remember. I really want to try other things on the menu but the Fall Avocado is so dang good to pass up. Price: the Fall Avocado is around $11 and well worth it.
google avatar

Bri J.

Yelp
Stopped in on our visit to the MOA. We were pleasantly delighted at how efficient the crew was in getting our pasta ready for us to enjoy. The food was good. No major complaints, but no amazing experience, so a very solid 4 stars!

Ashley K.

Yelp
Lynn is absolutely professional and fun! Great service and hospitality was amazing!! 5 stars hands down!
google avatar

Nicole S.

Yelp
The farmers salad is one of the best salads ever! The flavors of all the ingredients marry very well! The salad dressing adds the right pop to make your tastebuds dance!
