Delicious Dinner with Great Ambience — Just a Few Small Drawbacks
This restaurant is very nice and accommodating, especially when I had to shift my original reservation time. The interior is beautifully designed, clean, and has a great vibe, making it a lovely place for dinner or a night out.
Food & Drinks:
We started with the Whipped Ricotta, but unfortunately it was too salty — something they should re-evaluate in the recipe. However, the Sweet Hornet pizza and Black Truffle Gnocchi were absolutely amazing, rich in flavour and beautifully prepared. For dessert, we got the Nutella Tiramisu to go, but it arrived slightly mushed and didn’t have as much texture as other versions we’ve had.
Service & Experience:
Service was okay, though they definitely seemed understaffed, which slowed things down a bit. Still, the atmosphere, unique interior design, and quality of the food overall made up for that.
Background & Heritage:
Piano Piano is part of a growing Italian restaurant group that started in 2016 with its first location on Harbord Street in Toronto. Since then, it has expanded to multiple locations across the GTA — including Mount Pleasant, Oakville, and Colborne Street — and continues to be known for its Italian comfort food with a modern twist and playful, stylish interiors. The name Piano Piano comes from an Italian phrase meaning “slowly, slowly we go further,” reflecting a philosophy of enjoying life and food at a relaxed pace.
Overall:
This was a very solid dinner experience with standout dishes and a lovely setting. A few tweaks to seasoning and dessert presentation would make this even better, but it’s still highly recommended for Italian cuisine lovers.
