We live right off the Marietta Square but its been a minute since we’ve eaten here. On Sunday afternoon during Chalkterfest, we were looking for a place to get a quick bite and a couple of beers. Our favorite place to sit is at the bar and this bar is super cool and cozy. It’ll seat 8-10 people. Daisy was our bartender and took great care of us. We love the cold Peroni on tap and their pizza was pretty good. An older lady (maybe owner or manager) stopped by and asked how everything was. She was super sweet. Great experience and we’ll have to come back and give some more love to this place!

Authentic Italian food for a really great price. You can taste the love and freshness of the food. It's always a treat and delicious. The staff is always wonderful and the atmosphere is light and comfortable.

My wife and I dined here for our anniversary last month. It was absolutely exquisite. We came around 5:30pm on a Sunday and were delighted to find the coveted window seat was available. It truly was a dream. The food, ambiance, and service were all perfect, all for a very reasonable cost. Refreshingly, almost all the dishes were made with local ingredients. Many dishes were also creative, or, if more traditional, you could tell it was reminiscent of a ‘Nonna’s special recipe.’ Big shout out to MJ our server who was super knowledgable, friendly, accommodating etc. etc. A final note: It was so impressive to see the owner walking around and even taking rolls out the oven. You can tell she has poured her heart and soul into this. TL;DR Go visit!! Absolutely perfect spot for a date, although any occasion will do. Full of caring staff, creative dishes, and made with whole, local ingredients. This is not a chain as far as I know, so go support and keep Marietta square amazing!

Lovely Italian restaurant with a warm family vibe with great service and delicious food. Great value for the money. Pasta and salad and bread were delicious! Will return to try rest of the menu. Highly recommend Fettuccine Alfredo!

Oh my gosh. First impressions are everything and this was the best experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The chef/owner greets you at the door and his mother helps make sure all guests are taken care of. Food was immaculate and reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning!

Lots of gluten free options as well as traditional Italian offerings. The complementary gluten free bread was the best I've ever eaten. It was a variation on a cibatta roll and was served warm with olive oil for dipping. I also had gluten free tiramisu which was spectacular!

Great options for vegetarians, vegans, and no vegetarian food. The drinks 🍹 were brilliant and smooth blend. Food was delicious 😋. Only concern was the pizza base as it had too much flour under the base. We informed tonour server and she acknowledged and informed the chef. Our server was friendly, kind and gave recommendations on drinks and food. Will be back to try other dishes.

Absolutely phenomenal experience...twice! I first came to Piastra about three months ago with my girlfriend, and we were blown away. We’re both Italian but have several food allergies (mine is a nightshade allergy, and she can’t eat onions, shallots, or garlic). That usually makes dining out tricky, especially at Italian restaurants... but not here. The chef personally came out to discuss our needs, and even his mother came out to make sure everything was perfect. They crafted custom dishes just for us, and it honestly felt like we were having dinner in an Italian family’s home. The food was top-notch, the service was warm and genuine, and the prices were more than fair. The wine selection was also fantastic. We loved it so much that we came back last week with my girlfriend’s entire family, and once again, everyone was amazed. The homemade pasta was a huge hit, and my branzino was absolutely to die for. It’s rare to find a place that delivers this level of care, flavor, and hospitality. Piastra is something truly special. Highly recommend!

We have eaten here so many times and always have the best experience and amazing food! MJ took fantastic care of us! Such an incredible date night spot for us, especially when we're looking for a nice, quiet, cozy spot!

Best food I've ever tasted since mom's home cooking. Service is excellent and very attentive, friendly and good company to be in. Ambiance is perfection just like home not overbearing and just a peice of paradise highly recommended to anyone :) William

We have eaten here a few times and have never been blown away; the food is always just okay. I will say in the past, the chicken parm is really tasty, their homemade rolls are great, and we recently tried the aranchini which we liked! But the spaghetti and pasta sauce was bland, the lasagna was unique but couldn't tell what I was eating, and their mocktail was just super sweet. Service was superb!

How do I add more stars? Piastra is the best kept secret on Marietta Square. Spectacular food, stellar service, and one of those experiences that embody the cultured-yet-folksy vibe we adore. Do NOT sleep on the in-house lemoncello, chef-crafted specials, and impeccably curated wine list... Just please dont tell everyone because we love the way we can drop in for a classic Italian dinner at the bar anytime with almost no wait.

The best meal I've had in a long time. Great service! I have a gluten allergy so it's always hard going out. Our waitress, MJ, was super helpful and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable knowing I could eat safely! We will be back!

Went with my family. We all had different things but all enjoyed what we had. The lasagna was so unique but so good. The noodles crusty on sides and firm in middle. And the sauces great. A good selection of drinks and a nice menu. Brent was our server and was outstanding. We will be back.

Not good at all! This restaurant had a great menu but they chefs could not execute on it. The food was bland and it was like the chefs didn't know that when you cook with wine you need to allow the alcohol to cook off! It was disgusting. I ordered a veal dish and it was literally a slice no lighter than my hand and paper thin. The sauce on the pasta was heated up thinned out tomato paste basically. It was tasteless and acidic. We ate because we were starting ingredients but i paid for it with reflux all night. These people need to hire someone who knows how to cook.

Ate here before a show. Showed up at 7 and figured we would have plenty of time to make an 8pm show. Well just getting our bill at 8:30. Took an hour to get our food, which was marginal. Place needs to get better at their service. If you can't handle the business don't sit them.

I had seen this restaurant a few times before when we were at the Square for other activities. For whatever reason, we always seem to have been there more at lunchtime so this place was never open. When I got tickets for a show at the Strand Theater, I saw this listed among the handy places to eat, so I made a reservation for 6:30 p.m. We arrived at the Square a bit early. The navigation app I was using recommended parking about a block away at a pay lot, and there seemed to be no spaces + heavy traffic around the Square anyway. I found the lot and ended up paying $6. It was just across the railroad tracks west of the Square. We arrived at the restaurant about 20 minutes before our reservation. They looked busy, but did have a free table, so we got seated. They seemed to be about one server short versus the size crowd they had, but the staff managed it. Their layout is (facing the place) a bar area on the right and a large dining room on the left. We entered via the bar, as it was the first door we came to, but I think you're supposed to enter via the left door for dining. They accommodated parties from 2 to 10 when we were there. Our server got our drinks and then brought our complimentary bread - a large, warm roll and some smaller melba toast type pieces. It was good. Their wine list was good. Our server then told us about the specials. I got a squash ravioli dish while my wife opted for a trout special. We split a garden salad, which was easily big enough for that. The lady who I assume was the owner, as she was circulating between tables and chatting with guests, stopped by to ensure we were okay at this point. Pacing on the meal was leisurely. I don't mean that in a bad way, but if you normally budget an hour for dinner, you may want to buffer in 15 extra minutes. I never felt rushed or delayed though. Our food arrived and I was surprised by the sheer size of the ravioli - I only received 2, but the food volume was easily as much or more than I'd normally get in another Italian restaurant. They were huge! We opted to skip dessert so we were able to finish our main dishes, barely. I was really full, though. Prices were reasonable. It isn't quite up into the 'fine dining' range. The value for the food quality is good, though. I'd consider returning here, though we don't seem to wind up in the area at dinner time much.

Came here for a friend's birthday, and while the service was good, the food was underwhelming. I ordered the Bolognese, which was definitely not Bolognese. It was a very sweet pureed tomato sauce with some meat added to it. A Bolognese is a meat sauce flavored with a bit of tomato paste, not a tomato sauce flavored with meat. My GF got the pizza, and the dough was not good. Undercooked and doughy, with absolutely no chew to it at all, almost tasted like a cake flour or gluten free flour. Several people got the butternut squash ravioli and received two ravioli the size of a calzone that was filled with diced squash, definitely not what you expect when you order ravioli. I've never seen a butternut squash ravioli that the filling was not pureed. I think you could make it work without pureeing, but the ingredients would need to be a very fine dice to make this work. The textures of the large diced squash just do not work in a ravioli. Just looking at the ingredients in their "carbonara" and I should have known I would it was not for me. I'm sure many people would enjoy the food, but it's definitely not traditional Italian.

I had the Chicken Piccata and it was soooo delicious!! Bryson took such great care of us too! If you haven't been here before or it's been awhile please run don't walk to Piastra! You won't be sorry!

I got the rigatoni and it was truly 10/10!!! It was spicy and so delicious. This was our first time coming and it has a cozy, cute atmosphere. We will def come back!

It took its over 2 years of living next to Marietta Square to give Piastra another chance after a substandard first experience on Easter 2021. With restaurants like Hamp & Harry's, Mac's, Silla del Toro, Two Birds, etc. right around the corner, we didn't feel the need to spend $150 on what we found to be lackluster food & service. This experience was, unfortunately, even worse than the first. We sat outdoors for our 6:45 reservation and were promptly asked if we wanted regular or sparkling water. We asked for sparkling and received both. Ok, worse things have happened. Next, we had an employee come to our table and ask us if we knew who our waitress was (narrator: we didn't.) Our waitress finally arrived and took our drink and appetizer orders. We ordered calamari and arancini and a couple cocktails. Drinks and apps arrived pretty quickly to the table. Sadly our silverware was left behind. We asked a passing busboy to bring us some utensils, which proved to be too big of an ask for the poor kid. A second attempt with a passing waitress 10 minutes later was more successful. We got our silverware and dug in. The calamari was undercooked - the breading was soggy and pallid, the squid slimy and firm underneath. We did not finish the plate and waited for the waitress to ask if everything was ok (narrator: she didn't). The arancini was fine, but had grown cold during our silverware ordeal (we just tucked in to the calamari with our hands, as you expect to have to do in a nice restaurant). We finished our drinks as they were removing the app plates and waited 15 minutes for anybody to ask if we needed another (narrator: we did.) Entrees were carbonara for my wife and cavatelli with lobster and fennel seed miso for me. I asked our waitress if it was Japanese miso as it's an odd ingredient in an Italian pasta dish - she replied that it was hard to explain and that it was different from the Chinese miso. Based on her description, I decided to roll the dice. Carbonara was decent, with the only note being that some of the pancetta was a little tough given the large, inconsistent dice. The cavatelli had a big portion of lobster, which would have been great if it was fresh and cooked properly (narrator: it wasn't.) Lobster had a fishy taste and was rubbery as a result of being overcooked. The lobster shells I found mixed in with the pasta dish gave a nice contrast to the rubbery lobster and gave my teeth a good break-test. It was also an interesting choice for the waitress to arrive with the bread basket for the table as we were finishing our entrees instead of before we even order. Really avant-garde stuff you wouldn't expect normally. The cherry on top was getting the bill and seeing that they included a new feature where they charged us for the ice in our cocktails. Let me say that again: THEY ADDED A $2 CHARGE PER DRINK FOR THE ICE IN OUR COCKTAILS (narrator: see the attached photo.) I waited to ask the waitress about the extra charge, but in keeping with the theme of the visit, she never came outside again. We paid the $8 for our ice, tipped her in full, and vowed never to return. Sadly, we spend a ton of money at restaurants in the square - Piastra will have to sell its ice to tourists instead. Update: The manager found my bill and comped our meal unprompted based on this review, which was very nice of him and appreciated. He explained to me that the $4 charges were for larger shots, which I am still confused about. If I order a double whiskey, and my drink costs twice what my wife's single vodka costs, I don't understand where the extra charge comes from. He said my double drinks were 4 oz pours instead of a normal 3 oz double pour (narrator: they weren't). I still don't understand the extra cost, but at least it wasn't for ice. We'll take that as a win.

The food was good Italian-American. For the price and for the ambience, it was enjoyable and very pleasant date experience. The drinks were excellent, as was the chocolate cake. It would take a significant step to make this a Michelin five star or to make it less than a four star, because the food is good but not so far above "good" to make it noteworthy. The best thing was the service: a solid and attentive waiter or waitress is always a huge plus, but to have the manager or owner come to check on things is top-notch.

Fantastic all the way around. We're vegan, which going to an Italian place- I emailed the week prior and was assured it was a non-issue. Literally could not be happier with everything. The food, the service, the atmosphere-everything was excellent. The wine list is extensive, the food is spectacular and the service is on point. The only bummer is we left our leftovers!! Guess we'll be back for more.

So I ordered a dish (Veal Saltimbuca) that was not even on the menu. Chef Greg knocked it out of the park. It was so delicious. Service was spectacular as well as everyone else's meal.

We really enjoyed a date night out at Piastra last night. I like how they have different art decorating the walls, much of which looked like it was for sale. As we were waiting for our drinks the chef/owner came by to visit. He explained his menu and made a few suggestions for us. We really enjoyed talking to him as this was our first visit. What also impressed me was that he was active. He saw something that needed to be done and he took care of it himself. We ordered the calamari and it was very good. Lightly fried, not tough at all. There was also fried pepper rings that really balanced the dish. There were two sauces that came with it, neither had much flavor but it wasn't needed anyway. The bread showed up at the same time as the appetizer. Seemed a little late in the process. I ordered the tagliatelle with clams and mussels. It had just the right "zing" as the chef said to balance the richness of the dish. My only constructive feedback was the pasta was very al denta. Maybe on the verge of tough. My wife ordered the ravioli. They are massive! It was filled with broccoli, cheeses and a hint of truffle. "Tree and cheese" the chef said. The filling was really tasty. None of the flavors overpowered each other. Again the pasts was very tough. More than al dente. We started to ask the waitress about it, but since both dishes were tough we just assumed that's how the pasta is prepared here. It wasn't a deal breaker, just not as good as it could have been. We also had an order of truffle fries. They were fresh cut and tasty. All in all a little mixed, but we had a great time. We will be back to try some other dishes soon.

We had a private party at Piastra for my son's wedding rehearsal. The food, service, and ambiance were amazing. The banquet menus for family style included the house salad & bread with roasted garlic. Everything was excellent. The favorites were chicken alfredo and the baked grouper. We would definitely suggest Piastra to any of our friends.

My family and I love Piastra! If you're looking for authentic Italian in OTP this is it! Ordered GF for the first time here and it didn't disappoint. Chocolate cake was out of this world! Brycen was spectacular in helping us make choices. Cannot wait to come back!

This was our first time at Piastra. The place was so quaint and the staff was very friendly. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was rustic Italian. I had the Chicken parmigiana it was well seasoned and tasty. My husband had the lasagna with a meatball on the side. The lasagna was sliced thin and long rather than the traditional square which I thought was very cool. It did have a lot of char on it. I think that was supposed to be a technique but my husband didn't enjoy the taste. He mentioned it to the waitress, not expecting anything and she was quick to take action and make it right. The meatball was delicious. It was my birthday celebration and they brought a birthday cannoli which was delicious. It was definitely a place we will go back to.

We ordered chicken Alfredo for one of my kids and she only got the noodles without any chicken . Two other kids got spaghetti which didn't have any taste and too much cheese . The meatballs were made out of sausage and kids don't like it . We ordered pork chops with spinach and fries . The meat was ok although too much grease . The spinach was so so salty that my blood pressure went up. The fries were so old I couldn't eat all of it . The waitress was supposed to bring bread as part of appetizers and she never did ! It was my husband's birthday and I asked them for something special . They promised to bring cannoli and they never did !!! I don't think I'm ever coming back to that place . On top of everything the place is over priced. For that amount of money everything should be perfect !

Get the lasagna!!! All of the food was fantastic and service was great especially to my small child who came with us. I will definitely be back.

I received a service in the square and decided to stop in while I waited for traffic to die down. My experience was "okay". I didn't have a terrible experience but it wasn't mind blowing by any means. Pros: easy to sit at such a busy time on a Friday evening. Staff are generally kind and attentive. (I did sit at the bar). Very reasonable pricing for food. Cons: The staff although kind to me were often bickering and mean to each other and I heard just about all of it while eating my meal and being at the bar. I had a new bartender who was very nice and attentive but kept telling me and other patrons "it's my first day alone...". Which we all understood and tried to calm her nerves. The food was cooked well as far as doneness and temp but relatively tasteless. I had to doctor up my leftovers when I went home. I just got the calamari and the white pizza so nothing spectacular. Overall I'd probably not return just to be able to try another restaurant Update: The owner responded after my post with the copy and pasted reply that he wished I said something when he "visited me" and he in fact DID NOT. Please just take the feedback you're being provided and do better versus lying.

Love this place! I am gluten free and they are so accommodating! They even have gluten free bread for you to eat before your meal! If you're craving pasta I would definitely recommend!

Great service and best of all - 90% if the menu at Piastra can be made in gf options. It's exciting to find a local spot that considers gf allergies and makes delicious food too. Highly recommend the rigatoni. The hangar steak was tough and I wouldn't order that again but everything else was tasty. We had a wine flight with dinner to try different wines, enjoyed a dancing and delicious gf bread. Check it out!

Bryson our server was great and very attentive to our table. The food was delicious and came out hot. It's been a while since we have been here. It never disappoints. A great little spot on the Square. .

From the moment we walked in the service was amazing! We were seated quickly and were greeted promptly by KAYLA! She took our order and gave great suggestions for wines and deserts. The Veal piccata was amazing. The owner came by the table also to just check in. Definitely a great experience! Date anniversary birthday or just because. Just go here. It is great beginning to end and everything in between!!!!

Absolutely love Piastra!! We always choose Piastra for our girls dinner out. The food is fantastic and this time KiKi our server was amazing !! We have never had a bad experience here. The owner comes around to make sure you have enjoyed the food and service, she a sweetheart.

This is our go to restaurant in Marietta. The food is amazing and they have so many great gluten free options, which I really appreciate as someone who has gluten sensitivity. They always have a fish special which is amazing for me as well who loves fish. Everything is great and the service is also amazing. Our server, Kayla, was kind, attentive and helped us out with everything when we brought guests to our favorite place. Do not skip this place!

Nice looking restaurant, friendly staff, delicious food. I'll be short here, but me and my two friends thoroughly enjoyed our Friday night dinner. One of the friends asked if we need a reservation(he was wise) and I said no(not even taking it into consideration). I was wrong because the hostess, Kat, told me Friday night reservations are definitely needed, however, there was one table available for us. So, we were welcomed spontaneously "IN Da'HOUSE" and had a very good experience!

Piastra is such a cute restaurant. It's such a good vibe and everyone is so incredibly nice. My wife and I got the spaghetti bolognese and the lasagna and both were phenomenal! The bread and olive oil were also great. Lastly, they have a very nice wine list with lots of great options. Kayla was our server and she was so cool and nice! Can't wait to come back here again

Brycen was excellent. Took very good care of us. Food was excellent! Always a nice atmosphere and Momma is so attentive.

Our party of six walked in late on a Sunday and were seated immediately. We all enjoyed our meals - salads, pizza's, pasta and lasagna, very much. The bread was also outstanding! Our server, Vinny was wonderful, too. The owner even came by our table and asked how things were. We'll come back!

This is a wonderful, family-owned restaurant right on the Marietta Square. The food is delicious and fresh. The mussels are served abundantly and have never disappointed.

Food was good but couldn't order what I wanted because they were out of a lot of things. Kitchen seemed very chaotic. Other customers being short with wait staff because of this. However our server kept her cool after we watched her getting yelled at for things out of her control. Came back to us with a smile on her face. The servers are the only reason we would go back. Please be nice to them! It's not their fault if the kitchen doesn't send food out for an hour. Which we also saw. There's a ton of other restaurants you can walk to if you want. Don't bash the staff
