My first time and it will be my last time. Food is very over priced. Right out the gate they were out of the appetizer we tried to order. The quality of the dishes we ordered was bland. She was dressed as if she was in her pj's. Had to flag down the server multiple times. They were not even that busy. We were there around 6-615 pm on Friday 3-21-25. Would definitely NOT recommend. If there was a bright point the food itself did give the appearance of being delicious but again sadly it was not. We had a half Caesar salad-mediocre taste at best Half arugula salad-was fairly ok shrimp pesto scampi-tough over cooked shrimp. No flavor sauce Lasagna bolognese-tasteless sauce couldn't tell if there was even any pork involved.

My husband and I consider Piatanzi our neighborhood bar/restaurant. We eat there at least three times a week, and the food wine, and service never disappoint us. The bartenders and waiter/waitress go out of their way to make sure that everything is up to our expectations. The chef is really outstanding, and the menu has something for everyone . We have taken our grandchildren, and it their favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. If you have not tried Piatanzi, you are really missing a true gem in our community.

This place was Amazing. Food was so delicious. 👏👏to the chef. For dinner we enjoyed Pollo Putanesca and the Scampi dish for the appetizer we had Calamari and Dessert was so good. Price was not too bad for 2 people servings is for sure shareable so keep that in mind or be ready to take food home. Our waitress was so nice and took care of us. The hostess was also nice. We made reservatioms through their website and had no issues but you can call it in and they will call to confirm. I am not 100% sire but I think this was the same restaurant that was on Juan Tabo just North of Candelaria. Piatanzi for sure 5 ⭐️. Plenty of parking and in a nice quiet area. Oh I cannot wait to try their Pizza🍕 we will be back 👍.

For the price, the food was just okay. Nothing to write home about. There are other, much better places in town.

Google
Food was very good. My fiancee and I got two different pasta dishes. The portions were big and filling. They have a wide selections of drinks. The place is a pricey. The staff were very nice and attentive but not over attentive. They have a very good air conditioning system so bring a light jacket if you get cold easily.

Google
I recommended this place for a family dinner as they wanted pizza and the pizza is great. We had a reservation but unbeknownst the pizza oven was broken and they knew about this 3 days prior to our reservation. They should of called us to tell us this. We showed up got the bad news but decided to stay to not inconvenience anyone. Then they had oil and hebs on the table and so we asked for the bread to go with it and was told they had no bread. Then why put the oil on the table. The service was not good considering all the things going wrong. They could of compt an appetizer or something and we got none of that. The other food we had was mediocre and not cheap. Was disappointed overall with the experience and I felt bad to my family cause I suggested it. If they would have called us to let us know the pizza oven wasn't working we could have pivoted to another spot and I would of appreciated it and have came back but right now I don't intend on visiting or recommending anytime soon.

Google
Piatanzi didn’t disappoint and it was the perfect spot for our date. Crowd was mixed as far as demographics go. All ages were in attendance when we sat. Great wine and drink list. Menu was simple and easy to read. Fresh baked bread was brought out after our drinks with a little bowl of Olive oil. I felt the olive oil was plain and could’ve had a house made seasoning in it. Bread was already sliced, hot with a thin hard crust and soft moist center. Yummy. So we chose the calamari to start. Actually tasted most fresh out of any restaurant in ABQ. It wasn’t the typical circles you get from other places it was authentic. Lemon sauce drizzled on top with a light batter and good crunch. Moved onto a shrimp salad that had large shrimp fresh crisp green veggies. Had to end with the house made tiramisu. Dang! That was so good I was going to get another one. It was soft, creamy, with a good amount of sweetness and great tasting espresso soaked foundation. Our waitress was awesome and she made the experience better. Gave us our time and explained everything we asked. Personally the cost is worth it. Our dinner was around $60 with hot tea’s to drink. All in all this was a great place and we will be returning when we are in the area.

Google
Delicious food and great staff. A very pleasant atmosphere. We had the house wine (10/10!), the steak salad and a salad with salmon on top. All was excellent. A great find!

Yelp
Its been a while but went back the other evening anf had a lovely vodka sauced pene, my SO got some scallops done to perfection, our water was attentive even though we were there less than a full hour before closing. Great spot still quite good.

Yelp
Food - got the agnello, it was good! I liked the chunks of lamb. Also got Bruschetta Caprese, which was an appropriate portion size for an appetiser. Forgot to take a photo of this until after I ate it. Service - good, no complaints. Appropriately attentive Ambiance - small, laidback feel. Comfortable, not extremely fancy, food is solid

Yelp
Not great. Service was lacking and when addressed with management was confronted in a very unfriendly and hostile manner. Absoutely will not be returning.

Yelp
Amazing little neighborhood Italian Restaurant. Perfect size dishes and an excellent wine list. Also just added local spirits to the bar as a great addition for options. Great bar seating as well. Service is always outstanding.

Yelp
I was visiting Albuquerque last month with a few other friends and took a shot dining here. This is the worst restaurant of any kind I ever visited. The server was rude and arrogant. When we received our food, 5 of the 6 of us ordered fettuccine Alfredo. Three of us immediately noticed it was not right. It tasted sour and smelled very putrid. The other two people did not even try it because we told them not to eat it. We brought this to the attention of our server and he was outright disrespectful and said nobody ever complained about it and the cook came out giving us a tongue lashing. We requested something else and they said, "You're paying for this, it's not a replacement." We paid and left. DO NOT ever visit this place.

Yelp
Lovely place where groups of people seem to be a tables. Ah, the holidays and a nice Italian restaurant. We did the same meeting up as a party of seven last night. Clean, inviting, and with a decent abbreviated menu. They picked the right things to go on it. The server was very attentive and kept my water glass full. I liked their rolls offered. Choosing the spaghetti marinara (easy on the sauce) with sausage (a little spicy) was a good meal. This is on the list for when we visit family here again.

Yelp
Dined at your place for the first time since--well, I can't remember. I ate at Piatanzi a couple of times after you opened, so it's been a long time. I love it! The restaurant room itself for starters. I had eggplant parmesan, the crostini with mission fig, prosciutto and goat cheese, and a glass of Barbera, which was recommended by Philip. And speaking of Philip, I loved the vibe of your place, the staff, seeing Chef Pete Lukes come out to visit with people at the bar. Two or three people who came in after we were situated and having our beverages greeted Philip like an old friend. We were sitting at one of the small round tables by the windows in the bar area. Piatanzi has a neighborhood feel, at the same time very classy. Thanks!

Alexandra

Yelp
The service was very pleasant, but did not wait to take our entire drink order. He went and got each drink one at a time without allowing my grandmother to think about what she wanted. I was a server for years so it didn't bother me, it just seemed like an inefficient way to do things and very disjointed. We also got the wrong salad, but because our server was so busy running around we decided not to mention it. The food was totally acceptable! Not the best and not the worst I've ever had.

Yelp
I was excited to try this restaurant; I love Italian food. We had reservations for Friday night and were seated right away. We ordered a bottle of wine, the calamari appetizer and a pizza. The calamari came out in minutes, super fast! It was delicious. We were given a basket of bread but no butter or anything to go with it. When our server came to take the calamari plate away we asked for a dip or something. He poured olive oil into a small dish but didn't add anything. There was no salt or pepper on the table. He didn't pour any additional wine, we did that ourselves. And then we waited. And waited. Almost 35 min later our pizza arrived. At that point our wine was empty and my water glass was as well. He brought a pitcher of water and filled my sister's glass but not mine. Just walked away. The restaurant didn't seem overly busy, there were several tables available. The food was good but the service wasn't. Not sure if I'll be back.

Yelp
We two split a small plate of meatballs, an entree of gluten free pizza, and a dessert of creme brulee. Everything was good!

Yelp
This is a neighborhood gem- and a best kept secret. I moved to the area during COVID and not sure how they survived. Gradually they've opened longer hours and now on Sundays. I only wish they opened earlier on weekends and stayed open until at least 9 or 10. They have a great, friendly little bar area where I usually sit with friendly and attentive bar tenders. They usually have sports in at the bar tvs, volume off so not disturbing diners. I've also taken my kids and friends there and all have loved it. It has a good atmosphere for a family night, a date night or dinner alone. Food and drink are wonderful. I wish they still served their steak salad options and that these were a little less pricey, but they have good portions and everything I've had there is delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I like this place for its decor, service and cool ambiance. The appetizers and wine selections are really good. The pasta entrees, which we like to order, are not quite as good as one would hope. Sometimes seems as if only salt is used as seasoning. Still I would recommend this place.

Yelp
Always great Italian food and service, dim romantic environment. Very flavorful wine and great selections of unique salads, pizza, pasta, and more.

Yelp
The atmosphere is very inviting and the staff are friendly. Started with the bruschetta and it was to die for. Main course consisted of the scampi for me and lasagna for him. These had to be the biggest shrimp I've ever seen. It was all so incredibly delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Here's my opinion: Piatanzi should be the Italian word for mediocre. Everything about the place is perfectly mediocre -- the food, the service, the ambiance. Truly, the only thing to recommend it is if you live in the neighborhood, it's close. But, why would you not drive 7 minutes further and go to M'tucci's Bar Roma on Central if you want Italian? Life is short. The food there is actually good. And they make everything from scratch. Plus it's got an inviting, lively atmosphere. Sadly, Piatanzi has the smell of failure hanging over it. And it will probably be pulled to restaurant oblivion by the gravitational force of its own mediocrity. If I'm going to go out and spend money, I'm gonna go someplace better.

Yelp
Really disappointing! I had forgotten about this off the main street restaurant until a friend invited us to meet them there recently. We had a great dinner- nice ambiance. So when my wife's Birthday came up a couple weeks later- this was where we wanted to go! We followed the reservation directions and booked online. The app reminded us the day before and then the day of- 30 minutes before. We arrived to find a dark house! They were closed! The next open evening I stopped by to let them know what had happened. (They never answer their phone) From a waiter to the bartender then to the owner/chef I explained how their reservation service had taken our reservation- sent reminders and we showed up to find them closed. (A review was even requested the next day) There was no apology. No expression of understanding about spoiling this Birthday evening. The owner expressed frustration with Rsvy. Open table was too expensive he said and Rsvy was not as good. OK. His business decision to go with an unreliable reservation service. It sounds like ours was not the first time this happened- so he knew. When I asked what he had to offer about tanking our birthday celebration - he looked at me like my head was on sideways. Maybe an apology? Owners usually don't want to purposefully offend customers. It was surprising he offered no apology? No- "hey I'm so sorry we spoiled your birthday dinner. Please let us make this up to you. Come back & we'll take good care of you." Nope! He offered NADA. Is that is the same intention he puts into his food? How he treats his people? Apparently this is how he feels good about treating his customers! Well you can decide where you spend your time & money. Fortunately we have many really great restaurants here from which to chose - - where customers experience is important and owners are not afraid to apologize when their business made a mistake. Sorry for long review. I guess I'm tired of staying silent and just accepting poor service- - especially from the owner.

Yelp
Met our friends here and had a great experience all around. The food was great, the service was excellent and very attentive to drinks.

Yelp
Sat at the bar for dinner. Bartender was attentive and great conversationalist. Girlfriend has some quirky dietary restrictions, but the bartender made some off-menu suggestions that were awesome!! Nice selection of wines as well as tap beers. Food was great and came quickly after ordering.

Yelp
Hidden Gem.. Found this spot on accident while passing through Albuquerque. fantastic staff, great food, great environment for a relaxing dinner! I think every staff member (including the chef) spoke to me during my visit.

Ellen R.

Yelp
We have eaten at this restaurant many times. The food and service is excellent! They have the best margarita pizza I have ever had! The cheesecake had a unique twist with a caramelized finish. Wonderful!

James B.

Yelp
Food was just barely passable go to scalo or mtuccis instead. Service was not great, had to ask for water multiple times. Ambiance was fine felt a little sterile.

Alan And J.

Yelp
Walking in , the restaurant gave off a sense of cleanliness. it is very calm and quite. Mostly everyone was in their mid 40's. All the servers where very nice and polite , they always made sure we had our water filled. They gave us 2 pieces of breads that where significantly hard. But we still ate it The Alfredo was good but the noodles were pretty plain, on the other hand the sauce was very tasty and the touch of green chili was excellent. The ziti al forno was very exceptional. The sauce was very good and savory. It's a burst of flavor , it had spinach and sausage all these ingredients really brought this dish together. It's is very delicious. Really recommended. If you want to go out and a significantly nice place , I believe this is the place to go.

Erica J.

Yelp
Our favorite restaurant in town! We go to Piatanzi once a week if not more. Why? Because the food is ALWAYS delicious. The Bartender is personable, fun and attentive. The staff is GREAT! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and we are treated like family. I would never let an issue with an outside reservation company take away from a consistently good, hard working small business that has an amazing reputation in the community for years!!! Enjoy:)

Caleb W.

Yelp
Walked into the restaurant and was greeted by the owner who was friendly. However, when it came to the staff it was not such a great experience. I stood by the front door for about 15 minutes while servers went about their business and during that time not a single one of them acknowledged me. The owner even asked one of them if I had been helped, to which they replied "I'm about to" but they never came to seat me or anything. It was so bizarre that they wouldn't even acknowledge my presence. I don't know what kind of business would disrespect their customers like this, but I know I would never treat someone like this. As a person of color, these are the types of interactions that make you wonder if you didn't get treated fairly because of your ethnicity or if the wait staff were just bad at their jobs. In any case, I won't be back, and I won't be recommending this place to any of my friends in Albuquerque.

Yelp
Delish! Great service and ambiance. We shall return. My Valentine had the Eggplant Parm and I had the Pomodoro.

Yelp
I wanted to treat my cousin on the eve of her wedding so we wanted to go out to a quiet and elegant place for lunch. After going back and forth, we decided to go here for lunch. We were the only people in the restaurant when we walked in. Eventually a few people walked in. The ambience was good but not exceptional. However, the food made up for it. We ordered 5-6 dishes amongst the three of us and none of them disappointed. This is not an "authentic" Italian place, rather a place that serves Italian food with a twist. The service was excellent as well.

A L.

Yelp
I've always seen this place. I was curious. Dropped in, greeted & seated right away. Poured me a cold glass of water. I got the Marinara with meatballs. It was super delicious. They gave me bread with olive oil on the side. The atmosphere was super nice. Music wasn't loud at all. Staff was really nice. All customers were enjoying themselves. As far as price, wasn't bad at all. I think it was worth it. They gave me a lot. I do recommend to give this place a try. If you get a bad visit, give it another shot. We all know we have those personal rough nights. I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
My partner and I have been dining at least weekly at Piatanzi for YEARS. Even during the pandemic we supported the restaurant. We tend to ignore the above average prices and only fair food mainly because it's within walking distance. This all changed following an unsavory interaction with the owner. It appears other reviewers have had similar experiences suggesting a theme. We won't be returning. Not a big loss - a better Italian restaurant recently opened down the road!
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
The restaurant is located on a very unassuming road. The area doesn't look the best, but the food is really good. The inside is very clean, nice, and has ambiance. It would make for a good date spot. It comes with your standard free bread and olive oil appetizer. The bread was okay, I just didn't think the dipping oil was anything amazing. I wish it had herbs and salt in it but it was just plain oil. I was told that the Salsiccia pasta was their best tasting pasta dish. It is a basil white wine sauce based pasta. It was pretty good and the service was good. The actual inside is way bigger than it looks from the outside. They can probably accommodate larger parties fine. The food is slightly expensive but you're paying for the taste and ambiance. The inside also has a first come first serve bar to dine and drink at.

Yelp
This is not enjoyable to write; I don't care for retaliatory reviews, but my wife and I were treated very rudely and I'm hopeful that something may come of writing here. Not only were things slow at 5:20 (restaurant half full), but our server said "we're not sure who's going to serve you." He seemed very overworked, and unhappy. I asked my wife if she wanted to choose a wine, and he simply walked away. After that first visit, he returned 22 minutes later (ah, smart phones) and said "so, do you have any questions about the menu?" I said that the service was unacceptable, and could he please send the manager. Instead, he went behind the bar and started fixing drinks for another party. There were several other small, boring-to-read details where he simply seemed overly aggressive due to being the only FT server in a half full restaurant. Eventually, the host got the manager, who was gracious, but we felt so much ugly energy from that server that we were uncomfortable staying, and in fact we are not really comfortable returning.

Yelp
Have been coming to this restaurant for years and recommending it to people. Last night my friends and I ordered two GF pizzas to go. When we got home we realized one pizza was not GF. I have a serious gluten intolerance and was bummed to not be able to try both pizzas. We attempted to call Piatanzi about 11 times, not sure if we should go back, or just settle with their mistake. My friend who is not GF ate 2 pieces because we were all starving. No one answered and we got through about an hour later only to be hung up on. I came back with the pizza. and told them what happened with our order and that we that had paid for and hoped for a GF pizza, I explained this politely. The manager opens the pizza box which had a few slices eaten from, rolls his eyes, and says "here's half the rate back, that's all you get" and throws 10 dollars at me--it was extremely rude. I told him that his attitude was not cool and walked out. I then realized he had taken the pizza from me, so I walked back in and said "Hey, I left the pizza can I have it back?" He said "No! It's in the kitchen now! We're eating it!"......I have no earthly idea why anyone would take a pizza back that we took home to our house, that we could have dropped on the ground, spat on, or contaminated with covid germs in a pandemic, and to feed it to their staff. It's really gross and shows a real lack of concern for the health of their staff. I told him that taking our pizza was a ridiculous, and at the very least since they messed our order up, I could give my friend the rest of the not-GF pizza, what good did it do them to take it? He told me that he would let me take the pizza home if I gave him 7 dollars back with an extremely rude tone. I told him I just wanted our pizza back and since they messed up our order it seemed fair to just give me the pizza. He argued with me and refused to give it to me unless I gave him 7 dollars for the pizza they made wrong and overcharged us for in the first place. I told him he was being a jerk about this whole situation and had approached it with a terrible attitude when it was just me bringing up concern over a dietary restriction and trying to address that with a restaurant that I had previously really liked. He leaned in towards me and said in a low voice, " Ma'am, get some rest, you have bags under your eyes"--a misogynistic comment meant to insult me for the way I look, super ridiculous coming from an old, balding, man who clearly doesn't take care of himself to a girl in her twenties--(the dark circles under my eyes are genetic and not unattractive, they actually might be due to the fact that I have precursors for CELIAC's disease, hence why it would matter to me when a restaurant sends me home with a pizza that could make me super sick....) Ultimately, the attitude and deeply unkind behavior of this man and the staff surrounding him has been very disappointing. Piatanzi, please allow people who are kind to others to run your restaurant and get rid of the people who treat customer's like dirt when they come into the restaurant with a very reasonable concern. I wasn't even expecting them to replace the pizza with a GF one, just hoping they might recognize they put me in danger, overcharged us, and inconvenienced us, and hoping they might say sorry or throw in a free appetizer next time, something to acknowledge the situation. This restaurant does not care about it's GF patrons and I would advise people who have dietary restrictions to stay away.

Yelp
delicious food, friendly neighborhood feel. they could use more staff members but they made up for it with charm and hatdwork!

Yelp
Sometimes you just want a big bowl of carbs held together with some marinara. Sunday night was one of those nights for me and I found my way to Piatanzi. The space is modern and clean. I always appreciate an open kitchen and here is no different. A sleek bar with the NHL playoffs on (sweet!) and a decent wine list. I'm a simple woman: Wine, carbs, sports...Done. I'm not sure why there is so much hubbub about being "overpriced." Pasta dishes run around $12-15 (and you will have plenty to take home) - this seems on par with any other Italian restaurant (or at least an Italian place that you would want to eat at). The wine-by-the-glass menu is rather varied which is a nice change from the typical 3-option menu at many places. Didn't have room for dessert but peeked at the menu and I saw a number of things that intrigued me. I'll be back for another carb-loadin', wine-drinkin', sports-watchin' evenin'!

Yelp
We were the first people in the door and it still took about 15 minutes to give a drink order. The service is just ok. The salads are awesome and their beer list is extensive. The pizza is pretty good but not great. Very nice decor. I'll give them another shot and try the pasta next time. I really want to like this place.

JC D.

Yelp
I like a lot of things about this place (food, decor, location, bar lay out, patio), but I am not in love with it, otherwise I would probably be there at least once a week. They have probably one of the better wine selections so it's a good place to bring out of towners. The main courses are always fresh. Pizza's are good. The male bartenders there.....how do I say this nicely? Pretentious or an attitude? Can't put my finger on it. Either way makes me want to spend my money somewhere else.
google avatar

Joy S.

Yelp
An unexpected find in the neighborhood with higher end Italian fare, a better-than-average wine list, and 22 beers....all (or almost all) of the food options have a gluten free option for an additional $2. The service was attentive and not overdone. The daily risotto was delightful. The carbonara was ok...I'll get something different the next time because it wasn't what I was hoping for. My sons cheese pizza would have fed an 8-year old and was good even for an adult's palette. And the chocolate torte?!?! Yum! We'll be back!!

Yelp
So happy we tried this little gem of a spot. Amazing Italian food. The calamari was Devine it didn't have to much breading on it which I love. The pasta was delicious. Gluten free is available which I was super happy about. The service was great. We felt very taken care of. We will be definitely going back.

Yelp
Super yummy food and super nice people. 22 beers on tap including Peroni. Greek salad and Linguini Pomodoro was delicious. Girl next to me had Mac & Cheese with grilled chicken w/ green chiles. It looked and smelled amazing. She said it was excellent.

Yelp
Popped in for a light dinner. It is truly sad to see the lack of customers. C'mon people get out of your houses and support our local businesses. We were literally the only table in the dining room. Ok, so service was over the top, everyone was so nice. We had the polenta to start. It was excellent. Crispy top, creamy center, perfectly sauced. Just delightful. I enjoyed a lovely glass of Chardonnay, they were lovely together. Then we split the pollo sandwich with a Caesar salad. It was great! Quality bread, good grilled chicken, very good mozzarella, pesto, arugula and and fresh tomatoes. What's not to like. Such a great community gem.

Yelp
This is the very best gnocchi-seafood dishes I have ever had, anyplace, including Italy. The seafood is fresh, tender, and succulent. The garlic, while plentiful, remains sweet, and the pinot grigio-marinara is perfect with just a (correct) hint of acidity.Try a small spoonful of this sauce with a grape tomato, and the tomato will explode in your mouth with an unbelievable taste. Pete Lukes, the owner-chef, told me that this is his personal favorite here. Mine, too. This dish has earned a place on my coveted Best Dishes of 2014 List. Mushroom Pizza--Criminis, scalions, gruyere, and truffle oil. The crust is unique, flaky and tender, with just the right amount of crispness. This is the best pizza I have ever had. I have shared it with the Dazzling Deanell twice in the past three weeks. I guarantee that this pizza will blow you away. This pizza has earned the top spot on The Best Dishes of 2015 on my blog, Larry's Albuquerque Food Musings. Thanks for recommending it, Maggie.

Yelp
We decided to have Italian for lunch and I was a bit disappointed. The restaurant is clean and modern. The staff were somewhat attentive but seemed a bit overwhelmed. We informed the staff that we didn't have a lot of time and they did get our food to us fairly quickly. Everything was ok but for the prices I would have expected a little better then ok.

Yelp
Love this local spot! Eaten there a few times pre and post COVID. Pre-Covid, it was a great atmosphere with lovely conversation and a good drink selection. Now during COVID, they've made pick up easy and food always gets home warm. My favorite is the Vesuvio pizza and they're pasta in nice as well. My celiac roommate loves the gf pizza options.

Yelp
This is a jewel of a find in an unassuming part of town. North of Nob Hill on Girard, its a fabulous neighborhood restaurant that serves excellent food and drinks without the high prices of many restaurants in town. Being Italian myself, I'm always pleasantly surprised to find a good Italian restaurant with traditional as well as inventive dishes. Choose any dish with their homemade pasta of the day and you won't go wrong. Believe it or not, the best salad I've ever had (and that covers probably 100 cities across the country) is the Noce salad. Beets, pickled onions, fennel, greens and a wonderfully light dressing made my tastebuds sing - and I'm not vegetarian! Great light meal with a lovely glass of white wine and you'll be back to try other things on the menu.

Yelp
I like to eat, eat, eat pepperoni pizza. I like to eat eat eat beer and pizza Especially when the beer and pizza is on special and only $5!! So I thought it was worth the up charge for a topping and better beer than PBR... but all in all this ended up being a great food experience in-spite of mo money. Plus side of the up charge, I found a new favorite beer Colette farmhouse ale. If you like saisons then this is right up your ally. As I'm writing his I just realized that it's totally obvious that I'm having a drink on a Monday... stop judging me. It was a long Monday. You should try this place next time you have a long Monday. Seriously.

Yelp
Review is about 6 years late but I spent a night in Albuquerque 6 years ago while travelling through on Route 66. Decided to go out for an Italian meal and found this place. Got there a little early for dinner and had a chance to just talk with the owner. Absolute legend who kept me entertained and had a good ole chat. Food was amazing. Think I had a coffee flavoured pound cake, cabresi salad and spaghetti. Food was amazing. Offered to send him a case of Australian wine and haven't gotten around to it but haven't forgotten either. But a great place to eat and would definitely recommend if you are travelling through.

Yelp
It's a shame, a darn shame. Although Piattini has a couple of things going for it, unfortunately no way can they justify the premium prices for lame attempts at Italian cuisine. I've been enough times and given plenty of chances for Piattini to hit their stride but now I'm convinced that they are convinced they have! The restaurant is nicely built out. There are some good wines offered. That's it for compliments. Servers here are friendly but not necessarily competent. More than once I have had miscommunication that led to delays in the flow of my meal. Not MY fault. It's an example of a management and training failure IMO. Have you seen that t-shirt that reads "I'm awesome! Just ask me"? Yeah, Piattini is kinda like that. Don't get the Ceviche, its way too acidic and they throw tart Basil on it to exacerbate this. Don't get the Crab Croquettes because these people don't understand that Crab is mild and delicate and gets totally lost in the spicy Marinara it's swimming in. Don't get the Linguine Carbonara with the heavy handed overdose of black pepper and oil slick in the lower 1/3 of the bowl. And the prices of these "small plates" are anything but small. I could rip on Piattini some more but in the end it was my choice to go a half dozen times. If I had dined there on a date or with family then i would probably be pissed off. Things are easier to laugh away when it's only my experience that gets butchered!

Yelp
Have had the pleasure of dining several times and not once has this diamond restaurant disappointed moi! First off the ambiance is so New York chic very open dining experience the relaxing & hip seating area is very comfortable. Chef Lukes has been around with his other reputable restaurant "Terra Bistro" so I knew he makes everything with the highest quality ingredient. All the dishes that I have tried are amazing from the Olive Oil to the incredible delectable & insanely delicious sauces to the pasta prepared al dente and the lovely fresh Italian cheeses is what makes Chef Lukes dishes always stand out, you will only know if your palate is familiar....... :) I have to disagree with the pricing being expensive as always you get what you pay for hands down! ~~ Piattini's pricing is "PERFETTO" The plates are the right size as well, others may just need to feast at Buca di Beppo to gorge themselves freely! The staff is always attentive especially the gentlemen "Chris" always making sure your drink is full and offering anything that may make your dining experience more enjoyable, a true professional in the restaurant industry. I love that both the owners are present and hands on at all times, there are alot of people who want to be the Boss but wont cultivate their own business, so kuddos to them for running a outstanding establishment. I always look forward to my return at this wonderful & unique chic"Piattini" restaurant love! Ciao

Yelp
A delight! Covid creativity points! The restaurant has opened parking spots to tables in perfect fall weather! Prompt service, tho I did call in first with questions and then my order. I'm going to do that more, as it worked out great. Super helpful with getting me a tasty and gluten safe meal, even with my late order. The wine pairing was perfect with my cioppino. The dish! I judge a kitchen by how they do scallops and delicate shellfish. Everything was simply perfect, scallops fork tender and perfectly done, calamari had flavor and wasn't rubber rings (like most places), fish was flaky and moist, clams & mussels delicate and juicy. Win!! My dining partner had the chicken alfredo, again a win. The sauce was thick, creamy, eye rolling good. My only disappointment was they were out of coffee (we did get there late) for an espresso with the strawberry gelato. A bit pricey, and my mouth says worth every penny.

Yelp
I came here for a work lunch with 5 other people. We initially wanted Padillas, but they were too busy so we came here! I'm not a fan of Italian food, so bear that in mind. The service was a little slow, food was just ok, and it seemed like they were really pushing us to get some wine. Won't be back, but I know some middle aged mothers I will recommend this place to.
