The Best Pizza in Rome: 20 Pizzerias to Visit | Eater

"There aren’t many restaurants near the Trevi Fountain (or frankly anywhere in Rome) that can say they work exclusively with local organic produce. In truth, they don’t have to; most of the neighborhood’s clientele don’t demand or expect it. That doesn’t seem to matter to pizzaiolo Luca Issa at Piccolo Buco, who hand-mixes his dough, shapes it with a thick rim, and adds cheeses, meats, and tomatoes sourced from small producers devoted to traditional agriculture. The result is pizza with a fragrant crust balanced with ingredients like sweet yellow tomatoes, milky buffalo mozzarella, savory anchovies, and salty olive powder and capers. Enhancing the pizzas further, Issa carefully selects an olive oil from his arsenal to complement, rather than weigh down, the toppings." - Katie Parla

This pizza restaurant delivered an exceptional culinary experience that exceeded all expectations. The food was nothing short of amazing, and the main star—the pizza—was truly outstanding. The pizza is arguably the most unique and easily a Top 3 contender in all of Rome. The crust was perfectly executed, demonstrating mastery of the craft, and the quality of the ingredients shone through in every bite. It was delicious on a whole other level—a memorable taste sensation that justifies the hype. The only notable downside is the long queue. We had to wait for over 40 minutes to be seated. However, once you taste the food, you'll agree that the wait is absolutely worth it. Highly, highly recommended—make the effort to visit and experience this incredible food for yourself!

Google
When arriving, you'll probably have to wait about 30 minutes, and they don't take reservations. I think it's worth the wait. No wonder they have a 4.5 rating with over 7K reviews. Napoletana style pizza with an fluffy crust and fresh ingredients. If you are near the Trevi fountain, you should stop by.

The wait in line is definitely worth it people, you will not be disappointed! I’m a spontaneous journeyman and hate making reservations as I don’t know what I’m going to do on the day or how long it will take me, so the fact that the owner understands there’s a lot of people like myself out there and specifically doesn’t take reservations is fantastic! There were about 9 people ahead of me in the line, not a problem, 10-15 minute wait (if that) and I was greeted and seated with a smile :). The staff are very friendly and didn’t mind that I sat at a table for 4 just on my own, while there were larger groups behind me in line. The food is superb, beautifullll pizza with fresh ingredients, very soft very juicy, every bite was sheer ECSTACY! Bonus is they didn’t mind me doing my food travel vlog, hope the owner/manager like my video :) YouTube - @ant_shotit

Google
The best pizza you can eat in Rome! The atmosphere is very interesting — there are lots of tables packed into a small space, and everything looks as if it has been preserved for ages, which makes it quite unique. Luckily there was no queue when we arrived. The pizza is prepared very quickly and is the best I’ve tasted in years.

Google
We queued for 30 minutes, this is a very very busy pizza destination restaurant so be prepared for a wait. Lots of Pizza toppings to choose from so no problem there. Staff were friendly and helped with menu suggestions. Pizza was very traditional Neapolitan style with a Big soft puffy crust and a wet, soft and floppy centre. Apparently this is exactly how the neapolitans like to eat them. (Cut into pieces then pinched together so the toppings don't fall out , then eaten like a sandwich) Not my idea of a pizza but "when in Rome". I've experienced it but I wouldn't return for this style of pizza , it just wasn't enjoyable for me.

Google
We had to wait about 30–40 minutes to get a table, and the interior of the place is quite simple. But once we got the food, wow — this was the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life! The service was fast once we were seated, and the staff was nice. There’s a €2.50 service fee, which is good to know in advance, but overall it was totally worth it for the pizza.

Kanokporn B.

Google
Totally worth the wait! We waited in line for about 30 minutes—it’s a long queue, but now I understand why! The pizza here is absolutely delicious. The dough is incredibly light and flavorful. I’m not usually a big pizza fan, but I saw so many great reviews and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! It really lives up to the hype. If you’re in Rome, definitely come try it. Be patient—it’s worth it!

Google
Very overrated. We have waited for 40 minutes and im sorry to say this but it wasn’t worth it. I ordered one classic and one burrata margherita. I liked the classic one better but i don’t think any of them had any salt in it, it was so disappointing. They looked really great but the taste was mid. And i must add that i didn’t like their white wine either. The tables and restaurant in general are squeezed in in a tight place.

Yelp
We got two of the Margherita pizzas, one with burrata. The flavor was great and the crust was cooked perfectly. I, a cheese lover, found the burrata pizza had too much cheese! Though the pizza was really solid, we waited in line for about an hour, and given that there's a fabulous pizza restaurant on nearly every corner in Rome, I don't think we'd choose to wait in the line again.

Yelp
Taste: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Presentation: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 AC inside which on a hot day was amazing. There is usually a line but it moves very quickly. We were struggling to fine really good pizza in Rome and came across this place. This was the best pizza we had on the trip. The dough was chef's kiss! Recommend the pizza with anchovies

Yelp
Don't make the same mistake we did! We arrived early because Piccolo Buco doesn't take reservations or offer take out. Since we got there early and we didn't see a line, we decided to check out Trevi Fountain a block away. It was under unannounced maintenance, something a lot of people are upset about (including us), but we still had to see it with our own eyes. After a few photos we headed back to the restaurant. We saw only 1 family in front of the restaurant so we thought we lucked out! Well the restaurant was full and the staff told us the line started in the alley across front the restaurant. Darn it, we are third in line now and the wait time was about 45 minutes. We waited it out in the rain because they are known to have the best pizza in Rome, if not Italy. Definitely regretted going to a dry fountain first and not getting first seating. Since we had a lot of time to kill, I Google Translated the menu to decide what to order. Mink decided on what she wanted based on posted photos. After careful consideration and through a process of elimination, Mink decided on the Carpocollo ham, burrata cheese and roasted tomato. I ordered a Caprese and Burrata Margarita. When we finally entered, we realized the front dining area is cozy and they have an additional room in the back for more diners. Menus were already next to our table but we knew what we wanted and ordered as soon as we could. The wine and Caprese came out in a jiffy. Their Caprese was out of this world good! After finishing it, we only had to wait a few more minutes before the pizza came out. They looked and smelled amazing when they arrived at the table! Also, they were quite large so Mink definitely couldn't finish it all. Good thing they give boxes for left overs. The pizzas were better than I could have imagined with all the fresh quality ingredients they use. It was probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. They are definitely worthy of all their awards and are 100% worth the wait to dine there.

Yelp
Had to compare to Leggenda in Miami Beach - pretty close. Lovely Yellow sauce and sausage option but def have all of the classics
google avatar

Meghan M.

Yelp
This place had the best pizza ever! The crust was so fluffy and all the ingredients were delicious! The waiters were wonderful and spoke great English! Don't let the line discourage you - they love people in pretty quickly!
google avatar

Stan K.

Yelp
Good food, tight seating waited in line outside, almost an hour. The one supervisor inside slender kid looks Middle Eastern or from northern Africa was brash, curt and made us feel uncomfortable. I think he behaves in a way that's probably keeping with his culture, but he certainly not Italian. I wouldn't have rather had someone else attend to us.
google avatar

Kamryn H.

Yelp
Hands down best pizza in my life! My bf and I both agree and loved the walking distance from the trevi fountain. The line is long of course, but so worth it and they make it go by pretty quickly given how small the place is the turn around is pretty good! Very small and tables are pretty close together I had to squeeze between people to sit on the inside table and I'm pretty small.
google avatar

Ann W.

Yelp
Their Burrata Margarita pizza is amazing and the Yellow Sauce with sausage, smoked cheese and zucchini was unique and delicious. This was the best pizza we had in Italy.
google avatar

Danny T.

Yelp
I just don't get it. The line was long and I am sure people like the pizzas here.. but it was just not for me. The flavor is lacking and the cold burrata really threw me off. I ended up eating a soggy cold pizza that has no flavor. Maybe I just don't understand what good pizzas are here in Rome. To me, this was quite possibly the worst pizza I have ever had. We also ordered a bottle of wine and it sucked (young and quite tart) .. sorry, this was a no for me.
google avatar

Winston L.

Yelp
Located by the Trevi Fountain, there is always a long line but it is worth the wait. The pizza was to die for - its crust was light and chewy and I tasted the freshness of the ingredients. Coming from the States, it is very different from the pizza I am used to but I definitely appreciated the simplicity yet depth in flavor.
google avatar

Kevin R.

Yelp
The best pizza I've had in my ENTIRE life. I drool just thinking about it. No reservations and there is a really long line out the door. It's totally worth the wait. I'd go back to Rome strictly for this pizza. Fresh ingredients, perfectly crisp yet fluffy crust. If you go anywhere in Rome, this is the place to go.
google avatar

Donta W.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas I have ever had! After waiting outside in line for about 30 minutes, we were hungry when we got inside for dinner. I ordered the yellow tomato sauce pizza with spicy sausage and mozzarella and pizza with a yellow tomato just hits different! It's also most like zesty, lemony type sauce, hard to explain but the flavor was absolutely delicious! Plus the pizza comes out fast! Definitely worth a stop here if you're near the Trevi Fountain!
google avatar

Amanda R.

Yelp
WAIT ON THE LINE. The line will start across the street but it will move quickly. The make the pizza fresh and they keep it moving quickly. There are no reservations. The pizza is made right in front of you, you see as the ingredients are added, and it's magic. I ordered the margherita and it was the best I had. This is a very thin pizza with a large crust but thin and airy! You will eat the pizza in one sitting for sure. The place is really small and has one bathroom but the service is amazing. I highly recommend if you have the time, pop in you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Deliciousssss! This pizza place is near the Trevi Fountain and we planned to have lunch here at the end of our walking tour. We heard they had good pizza but what we didn't know was how popular they are! Thank goodness we got in line just after 12pm and only had to wait an hour to get in. Yessss, it was so worth it! If you're wondering what their name means in English, it means small hole. And when we got inside, that's just what it was- a very small space. The wait staff was very attentive and gave us recommendations. This is not authentic traditional Italian pizza. It's a modern spin for sure. The crust is thin and I would describe the bite as just enough density and not crispy or chewy. The ingredients are fresh and the flavors and combinations that they put together appealed to my eyes and stomach. The pizzas are absolutely big enough to share and come fresh to order.
google avatar

Hamilton A.

Yelp
Easily the best pizza spot in Rome. Come early. Wait in line. Order. Eat and enjoy!! The size of the pizza is enough for 1 person of 2 small appetites. The for of is got 3 pizzas and a caprese salad. The pizza dough is light and springy. The crust puffs up on the edges like it's supposed to. It looks like the way it tastes.

Dolly N.

Yelp
Long line to get in but it's well worth the wait. The pizzas just melts in your mouth, so good!
google avatar

Frank G.

Yelp
Definitely not worth the 45 minute wait. Seems to be very touristy. Napoletana pizza was decent but, not memorable. Prices are higher than the surrounding area. Cover charge of 2,50 euros per person - for a Pizzeria?! There are better food options in Rome.
google avatar

M K.

Yelp
Left a lot to be desired. We have had some great pizza throughout Italy and this just seems to be a spot that people see a line so they wait in it. We showed up at 5:45 (says opens at 6). We were 5th in line. No movement for 30 minutes but would see people come out. We saw that reviews say the line moves fast, but it certainly does not. 45 minutes later we were finally sat. Didn't appear to have any speed in moving the line. Service was ok, obviously everyone in there is just quickly going through the paces to turn tables quickly. Felt bad even asking one question. They were nice though. Food came out quick, dough definitely needed just a little longer. Pizza was ok, not bad, but 100% not worth waiting more than 10 minutes in line. We've sat right down at restaurants and have had far better. We've been lucky to have some great food throughout Italy and this place we walked out going, "one of our least memorable spots. "

Yelp
We are extremely picky about neopolitan pizza and have high standards. This pizza lived up to them. It tasted so fresh and delicious, highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing ! This is one of those must try's if you are in Rome. Known to be one of the best and it is well worth the wait. There will usually always be a on out front but seeing the expressions on everyone's face while eating is great to see. Very small and humble place but the Pizza speaks for itself.
google avatar

Itzel M.

Yelp
Wow this place exceeded my expectations. Had the best food and a very good waiter!! I highly recommend doing a sampler platter of pizza options. Pick the minis so you can try what sounds good. The ambiance is amazing!

Yelp
If your in the area and close by, come by and have Piccolo Buco pizza... it's delicious. Although the wait can be anywhere between 15 minutos to an hour, it's well worth the wait. You wait in an alley across the door. You won't miss the line since this place is always packed. Be prepared to wait. Once inside, it's a cozy small place with no music in the background, so be mindful and speak in your inside voice. Authentic, fresh delicious pizza. You can taste the flavors in every bite. The sauce, cheese and meats are incredible. The pizza does not come cut up in slices, which is a different experience, you use your own utensils to make your own slices. We tried a total of 4 pizzas. The yellow sauce with spicy salami which was phenomenal. Although it says spicy, the pizza itself wasn't that spicy, it's mild to say the least. Creamy, delicious ricotta cheese on different parts of the pizza just added to every delicious bite. Classic Margherita was exactly that, it was classic deliciousness with every portion. Favorite 1 out of the 4 was the pizza the Parma Ham búfalo yellow and pesto, it had Pesto, Mozzarella, sun dried yellow tomato, and prosciutto prosciutto, so many flavors exploding with every bite, makes you want to yell - Mamma Mia ! Will definitely come again when visiting. Fresh pizza with fresh ingredients. After eating, it was so filling, and you didn't feel the need want to go to sleep afterwards from carb overload. Night and day pizza in Rome vs America !

Yelp
Don't let looks the looks full you. Defiantly looks better than it tasted. I got the burrata margarita and pepper olives and Tusten. Pizza was not crispy, to thin just fell apart in the middle making it a soupy mess. As a pizza shop owner myself I appreciate the nice fluff of the crust which is definitely a hard technique todo but that's all this pizza place had going for its self not worth an hour wait and made my stomach hurt after.
google avatar

Brian M.

Yelp
Not worth it. I don't know what all the hype is about and they have great reviews too. But to me, it is way undercooked and very little flavor. Definitely not worth the wait or hype in my humble opinion. I am a connoisseur of pizza but not necessarily Neo pizza. I am headed to Naples tomorrow so I will have something to compare it to. I wanted to love it as it looked great but fell way short.
google avatar

Zulma G.

Yelp
My husband visited Piccolo Buco location in Chicago and ever since has been raving about the place and the food. So visiting Rome and staying close to The Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum this was in our bucket list. The place is small and usually there is a waiting line on the street right across but it is sooo worth the wait. It was 4 of us and we each ordered a pizza so we could try all. Each one was heavenly delicious! The service was amazing and they were very happy to hear about their location in USA. I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Jason A.

Yelp
Hands down the best pizza we've had in Italy, and second best tiramisu. The crust is very puffy and light, and the inside is very thin and slightly chewy. Definitely the dough tastes like it is freshly made. The ingredients are also so simple yet so high quality. We got one yellow pizza and one red pizza - hopefully the names will come back to mind when we're back again! Service is great but you might have to wait about an hour or more to get a seat.
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
Crust made from clouds. Wow this pizza was so good. We got in-line 10 mins before they opened and we're glad we did. We were seated as soon as the doors opened. The place is small, a front room with a handful of tables and a back room. The staff is efficient and got to work as soon as we filed in the front door. We ordered within 5 mins and were eating 15 mins or so later. We got a margherita and a yellow sauced spicy salami. Both were dreamy. The crust was incredible and the yellow sauce was so so good. I also made sure to "do as the Roman's" and have an Italian sprite with my pizza. Delish. After licking our plates clean we walked off our lunch sightseeing. In summation don't let the line scare you. It's totally worth the wait. But getting there early is the best strategy. (Note we were there in January, off season)
google avatar

Doug L.

Yelp
A few things. This is not typical Roman pizza and they tell you that on the menu. So if you like thin crisp crust, don't come here. The dough is allowed to rise 2 days and it gives a puffy chewy crust. The dough under the ingredients is chewy too and thin. There are several poor reviews here. Many old. Let me address a few things 1 they now accept credit cards 2 the help couldn't have been more Polite and helpful 3 the ingredients are very fresh We did have to wait 45 minutes to get in. When we left there was no line. So I'm not sure what to tell you to expect. Many people walked up seeming to know about this place so I wonder if it's in a guidebook somewhere I like a burnt crispy crust. So this isn't my favorite kind of pizza. That said even I would come back again. Everything was so fresh, the taste was outstanding and the staff so welcoming
google avatar

Imran S.

Yelp
The worst pizza ever, not sure why theie is always a line? They don't even cut the pizza. We ordered a margarita and an olive pizza and both were sogy and slimy. The pizza were so thin and wet that we could not even pickup a piece by hand. We had to eat it with a fork and a knife. I thought pizza in Italy would be way better then back in the US, but boy was I wrong. We complained that the pizza was too thin and sogy and were told if we tried it enough times, we would like it. I am sorry I do not keep eating food that is bad just so i might eventually like it. Avoid this place and save yourself feom waiting an hour just to get a table.
google avatar

Julia R.

Yelp
We arrived 30 minutes before opening and we were able to be seated right at opening. They do not take reservations or takeout, but it was definitely worth the wait. If this is your first time in Rome, this place is definitely a restaurant to tryout. The restaurant was clean, modern and the air conditioning was well received on a hot day. The wait staff was polite and helpful with ordering from the menu and the service was very quick. Overall, our experience was very pleasant and I definitely recommend.
google avatar

Leah A.

Yelp
In the touristy part of Rome so I was skeptical, but the pizza was very tasty and some of the best dough/crust we've ever had. There was a long line we waited about an hour. However, the owner was super pleasant, the food comes quickly and I never felt like they were rushing us through our meal to flip the table... even tho they had a big line. A relief to me that we actually got to enjoy our meal after waiting.

Yelp
During a recent stay in Rome, we decided to get some of the best pizza you could get from the country that invented pizza. As I scoured the online reviews on Yelp and Google, I came across Piccolo Buco. I read the reviews and needless to say I was hyped and ready to experience real authentic pizza. It's true that when you get here, there is a line of people and the wait time can be up to an hour long. As you're waiting outside, you're able to read the menu and people watch. When we finally made it inside, I noticed how small the restaurant is but it's still comfortable. There's not much to say about the decor but the atmosphere is average, quiet and true to its origins. I ordered the Yellow Tomato, Dry Sausage and Goat Cheese pizza and from the looks of it, it was perfect. To preface, I'm from the United States and I know it's difficult to find authentic pizza and the pizza we have is made for American palettes. This pizza to me was slightly flavorful but mostly on the bland side. There wasn't much flavor and needless to say I was disappointed. I do not doubt other people's reviews and I respect them yet for me this wasn't what I expected and yes I was disappointed. When it comes to other countries cuisine I understand that there are differences in tastes and opinions. I do recommend Piccolo when you're here to know that you've had authentic pizza and not the American version of pizza you're used to.
google avatar

Shawn H.

Yelp
Is the line worth the wait? Probably not, but the pizza is fantastic, the setting is quintessential Italian, the service is friendly. But wasting 2 hours abroad waiting in line.......not for me. As mentioned the pizza is good with the crust being especially tasty. I don't regret waiting in line, but I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. Comparable pizzas can be had for less time.
google avatar

Caree Z.

Yelp
Full disclosure. Coming from a robust Northeast US pizza background, it pains me to admit that this is likely the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Each pie is made fresh to order. The ingredients are phenomenally delicious. They unfortunately do not serve pasta anymore and have focused on the pizza aspect of their menu, which is in my opinion worth the 40ish minute wait in the small side street across from the shop during the 5-6pm early dinner rush. We were in Rome for 3 nights and went twice. The pizza pie has a delicious chewy delightfulness crust, with just a bit of crunch. We ordered pies with buffalo mozzarella because you simply cannot get mozzarella like this in the states. It's a knife and fork pizza (kinda soggy, it's not the pick up with your hands and fold it type, like NY pizza) so be prepared to use utensils. You would think that being steps from the Trevi fountain that this place is a complete tourist trap. But it's not. If you're into pizza, check this place out. You will not regret it.

Rachel I.

Yelp
The burrata margarita pizza was so good. Best pizza I've had in Italy and I tried many. The line was long but the service was spectacular. It is worth the wait. Cute restaurant.
google avatar

Neeka P.

Yelp
Overall this place was really good. There was a line but it moved fairly quickly and in happy we waited. I got the burrata Margherita pizza and my boyfriend got the yellow sauce one with spicy salami. His was definitely better, and was soooo delicious. Mine was also good but the sauce could've used a bit more flavor. If I went back I'd get what he ordered but I wasn't disappointed with my meal at all. Also the service was good and quick!
google avatar

Kemal Y.

Yelp
Their pizza is amazing. Their dough makes a real difference. You can taste real tomatoes in their sauce not canned tomatoes. It really worth waiting 25 minutes on the line to be seated.
google avatar

Yelp
Couple months ago me and my friends decided to eat. The food is excellent and the place is great the only problem was the waitress. She acted like she didn't want to be there and didn't help at all even after we asked few simple questions and we asked for very little from her. She would kinda raise her voice and never smile. We just tolerated it and enjoy our meal.
google avatar

Chelz D.

Yelp
Sooo freaking good! The place is super busy since the moment they open till they close. You will always find a line outside across the door but it's worth it in my opinion. I recommend going their 20-25 mins before they open are 12pm to make sure you get a sit when they open. No take outs are allowed. The space is big but from the front you can only see the front space which makes you believe they only have like 4 tables available in the space.. but no.. they have a big space in the back... so don't get discouraged to wait. It was a great taste and before going in.. we had no idea this place has already 2 Michelin stars. Pretty cool!

Natalie N.

Yelp
Worth the wait amazing people, service, and pizza! We waited about 20 minutes or so in the line they have along the alley across from the restaurant.

Maria N.

Yelp
The best pizza we had in Rome. We were lucky to get there early enough to not have to wait in line too long. Definitely worth waiting for.
google avatar

Sakthi S.

Yelp
Stumbled across this place as we were walking around and saw the line across the restaurant and decided to wait in it. Basically the restaurants opens its doors at 12 and they have about 10-12 tables of 4. At around 11/11:30 people start lining up. We decided to stand in line at around 12:15 and were seated by 1:30. After we had our first bite, we deemed the wait well worth it and agreed the pizza was the best on our trip (and maybe life). I will say the line only starts moving after the first wave is done, so there will be a stand still for close to the first 45 minutes. The crust was so fluffy and soft and the tomato sauce was SO unique. The white pizza was also amazing and packed a TON of flavor. We will definitely be coming back!!!
google avatar

Steph M.

Yelp
There will be a line, but like other reviewers mention, it will be worth it. We waited about 35min to be seated and were welcomed and served promptly. The interior of the restaurant is small and it was pretty warm. There was a quiet anticipation from everyone already seated, I wouldn't describe it as a chatty eatery. There's one bathroom - close quarters for sure. We got the burrata margherita pizza and cherry pesto red pizza. Both were delicious. The crust was very good flavor as was the sauce and cheese. The olive oil is AMAZING. It's a fork and knife pizza. My only complaint would be that I wish my pizza would stay warmer longer. Better eat fast! Overall excellent food. Would recommend and visit again. Also, our waiter fixed our uneven table leg to make it stop rocking and I thought that was great customer service. Hopefully they can expand and hire more people, but people are obviously willing to wait in line for this delicious pizza and rightfully so.

Yelp
This is the best pizza I have ever eaten. Went with a party of 6, waited about an hour and man oh man i would have waited 3 hours it was that great. Luca was our waiter and I believe part owner and what a friendly and funny guy. Every pizza was better than the next... Buratta and Prosciutto, Fried eggplant, hot spicy sausage with fresh ricotta and yellow tomato sauce and not on the menu Luca recommended a four cheese that was outrageous. Wine and Moretti a must and every one eating these pizzas say best we ever had. Thank you Luca for your hospitality and recommendations, will catch you again when we return and FYI Luca said they just open one in Chicago... highly highly recommend

Yelp
Spent lunch here when we were visiting Rome. We got there 30 minutes before they opened and the line was already formed. They sat us as soon they opened. The inside is small, and they are very quick in serving you. Pizza was delicious and staff was friendly! The line kept getting longer as we sat and ate. We definitely understand why it's such a popular place! 10/10 recommend if you're visiting Rome!

Yelp
Sincerely one of the best pizzas I've ever had, and I love pizza. The crusts were pillowy and lighter than any I've ever tasted. We had a sausage with fried zucchini pizza (yellow tomato sauce) and a coppocola mozzarella and basil pizza (red sauce). The tomatoes and cheese were the best ever. Just a perfect pizza for what I like. We arrived at 11:40 and were the 5th or 6th people to line up on advance of the noon opening. The line forms in the small alley across from the entrance. We browsed the neighboring shops while one of us stayed in line. By the time we were done eating there were probably 30 or so people waiting in line, so I recommend getting there early to beat the line.

Yelp
You would think it's a tourist trap given its proximity to the Trevi Fountain - but don't be fooled. We waited about 20-25 minutes for a party of 2 around 5-5:15PM local time. Service was quick and great - the restaurant owner came around to greet everyone and check on us. It made us feel very welcomed. Pizza was amazing - you can taste the local freshness in the ingredients. Airy and puffy crust, with a slight chew from the dough and cheese. Definitely on the saucier side, although not a bad thing at all.

Yelp
This was our first meal after an 8 hour flight, and I loved this place! This place is right around the corner/next to the Trevi Fountain. There was a short line when we got there, so the total wait for us was approximately 30 minutes, until we were seated. This is a SOLID pizza place. They do individual pizza portions, so definitely get your own pizza. The menu is expansive, with mostly pizza items on the menu, but you can start with bruschette, salads, and of course, wine! We ordered the classic bufala pizza, which is their tomato sauce and bufala cheese. As you can see from the photos, the crust was fluffy and airy. I love the little burnt bits on the sides, which gives it a really nice contrast. The sauce is simple, but so good. It's a classic, simple pizza, and you cannot go wrong. My fiance ordered the focaccia pizza, with a white base. Still really good, and the crust was a little on the thin/crispy side. I loved it as well. The pizza style is neopolitan, so some folks may not be used to the pizza because it may be "soupy" and "flimsy," but I actually find the chewy-ness of the dough to be SO GOOD. The oven is wood-fired, and you can really taste the difference. This restaurant is small, and the ingredients are really simple, but they taste really high quality. Pay this place a visit, and stand in line early, as the line really gets long!

Yelp
We never wait in line for anything. We almost left the long line but and hour later, we had the best pizza of our lives. Bread is fluffy and chewy at the same time and it has the right amount of sauce and cheese ratio. Very small and intimate place.
