Pici Trattoria

TLDR: Stopped for dinner at Pici’s and the food was great, service super slow though. We had a reservation at Pici and we were promptly seated. Walked in and the ambience wowed us. We then placed the order for our apps and main course - suppli (arrancini kinda starters) and mushroom truffle pasta and Pesce del giorno (seafood). The food was delicious. Seafood was fantastic and the pasta with truffle sauce was great. We then had to wait a long time to even place the order for the dessert - tiramisu. When the dessert arrived it was fantastic and one of the best tiramisus I have ever had. After this we had to wait for more than 15 mins just for the check. While the food is good, the service is slow. We arrived at 6:45 and left at 9:05pm - so you do the match. This place can get busy during peak dinner hours. All in all good food and I can see why they got the michelin stars a few years.

Just back from a lovely dinner at Pici Trattoria, the place was recommended by a Brazilian friend of mine, and it did not dissapoint. We started with some very tasty bruscetta’s and I followed it up with the wagyu burger. Comebined with a lovely wine, it was the perfect meal to end my first day in Rio!

The most exquisite Italian food I had in Rio. The fettuccine al tartufo, cacio e pepe, and profiteroles were quite special. The polpettine were my favorite—tender meat paired with a side of bread that captivated with its crunchy sound. The only feedback: the service felt a bit traditional in terms of gender roles, with only men being offered to taste the wine or handed the bill. Also, there were very few servers for the size of the place, and the playlist could use some improvement. However, it was a highly recommended experience overall.

I think this is probably the best restaurant I’ve been to in Rio (I went to one of the Michelin one star restaurants too, and this place was better). The service was great and fast, the food was delicious and compared to the quality, not too expensive. I will definitely come back when I’m back in Rio…

I walked-in with no reservation. Had to wait for about 45 minutes. The food overall was fantastic, however some of the dishes took too long and came cold. In my opinion the gnocchis were bland but there is nice ambiance and the prices were reasonable.

- Great service, the staff extremely professional, and detailed. - The menu doesn’t fail at all, and the dishes AMAZING! I recommend what we ordered, the bruschetta as entree, and then the milanesa with spaghetti and the gnocchi. The menu says gnocchi al pesto, however, that night they didn’t have any pesto left so they offered me to do it with Pomodoro sauce and it tasted delicious. Tiramisu as dessert, amazing. Jazz music great vibe great food, would love to go again!

I came here for dinner on a Monday ~ 5PM. It was not packed at all. The service was great and ordering was a breeze. I ordered a cosmopolitan, which was pretty good! The cacio e Pepe’s presentation took me aback a bit. The pasta was served on top, and wasn’t actually mixed in. It was still good, but nothing spectacular. The tiramisu was very good! Best part of the meal.

Service and quality and big smiles. Drinks are made with no delay and they did not hesitate to let me book a table for 1 person. That was great. This hidden gem is a must to try.

Excellent Italian trattoria in the heart of Ipanema. Casual but classy restaurant with reference to music greats. Had a great rigatoni amitriciana, house served garlic bread, and a solid Argentine Cabernet. Total bill, including tip, came to a reasonable $28 US (as of this writing). Pici has received Michelin recognition in the past--deservedly so I would add. Muito bom!

Michelin rated Pici sticks to Italian classics with some Brasílian twists. We tried the burrata, rich creamy and surrounded by fresh and sweet cherry tomatoes. For mains, opted for carbonara and fruti di mare. Both were great

Very charming restaurant. Amazing Ambiance and one of the best services that I have experienced in Rio. Ok Short menu but with options for any taste. I am a vegetarian and I was able to find dishes for all courses. The food was delicious. I will be back and recommend it to my friend's.

I know that I'm doing a review of an Italian restaurant in Brazil so that alone makes it a little difficult to achieve more than an average rating. The food was pretty good but just a little over sauced.

One of the best Italian dinners ever. Prices are not incredibly high. Excellent pastas, meats, bruschettas, atmosphere. English is not super easy here

Food was okay and the price is on the higher end. Service was good. However, they only speak Portuguese and if you don't speak that language, bring Google translate.

The atmosphere here is very great and there are many locals visiting this place. So during the weekend it could make sense to reservate. They have an English menu but be prepared that you need some Portuguese basics to talk to the waiters. The food is very good and the prices are fair. The wines are good and the bartenders definitely know their job. So all in all a good place to eat Italian style food in Ipanema!
