Corned beef sandwich and Mish mash soup were delicious. Turkey dinner was also very good. We will be back.

Ordered a sandwich here last week and was disappointed to come home and find that I was missing one of the slices of bread to my sandwich! For a 15$ sandwich this was the last thing I expected. Overall, I thought the flavors were good, but waiting in the store for an extra ten minutes along with not being able to eat half of my sandwich properly pretty much hampered the experience. **Update I reached out to Rick the owner and he was sympathetic and eager to make things right. He covered my next meal and his staff made sure I was taken care of. The food turned out to be pretty good and I was very satisfied overall. Thank you for taking the time give me a better experience!

Nice Deli with plenty of space to sit and dine. I love the atmosphere of this place and that actually added a star making it 4 instead of 3. The food here is what you will get from local deli, although I wish they do better. Thr flavors are pretty bland, almost feels like homemade, rather than store bought. They do hold a variety of menu and also do caterings. If you aren't expecting over-average dish but looking for a casual place to eat and chill, this is the place to go.

Ordered delivery through Grubhub last week and ended up ordering 2 more times in the same week (it was a long treat yourself kinda week..). Sandwiches were fresh and delicious, no skimping on ingredients. The bread is fresh and awesome! My favorite was the chicken noodle soup, still craving it today. Polish dinner was great as well. Really appreciate the care that seems to go towards packing up the food too. Looking forward to trying more from here!

We had a party catered by Pickles and Rye last week. From first contact to the end, the process was excellent. Everything was ready on time. The food was great. The vegetarian lasagna was outstanding. The owner, Rick, helped carry the trays to the car. Highly recommend.

I belive the ownership changed. The last time I went there the food was awful. I have been going their for over 30 years and my last visit will be my last. The recipes have been changed. A friend of mine came back in town and went there for dinner tonight. Without me knowing she was going there, she came over to tell me how watery the minestrone soup was. She was disappointed with her entire meal. I am very sad, since this used to be my favorite place to go to eat.

best lean corned beef and Reuben sandwiches . friendly waitress . If you order rice pudding, make sure it's completely heated up or rice is hard

Placed an order for 1 sandwich and avocado toast. Told it would be ready in 15 minutes… arrived 20 minutes later. Food wasn’t ready. Waited another 10 minutes, still not ready. Was told the delay was putting the avocado on the toast. Waited another 10 minutes, still nothing… 40 minutes after ordering I finally gave up and just asked for a refund. I get that times are tough at restaurants, and try to be extra patient… but this was it being respectful of others time. “Just a minute” shouldn’t be used when it’s going to take an extra 15-20 minutes beyond the original quoted time.

Yelp
You really can't go wrong with a corned beef from Pickles and Rye. Very tender! They have a full dinner area that can seat a ton of people if you want to dine in. I mainly have ordered takeout from them in the past. Most recently I did opt to try their BLT recently and tbh it was pretty good, but I would still rank their corned beef and it makes sense why it's basically their staple! I'm addition their cole slaw is super tasty as well. I highly recommend if you're in the area to drop in.

Yelp
I placed a to-go order from Pickles & Rye, showed up right on time like a proud punctual customer, and... crickets. Not one greeting, nod, or even a half-hearted "We'll be right with you." I stood there so long I started to wonder if I'd accidentally walked into an employee training video titled How Not to Acknowledge Customers. After about five minutes, a the kind woman behind the counter finally asked for my name, then handed me a bag that I watched her just finish packing. Okay, cool. Fresh, right? Wrong. When I got home, my $8 fries looked like they had fought in the Civil War. Warm, yes -- but weary and clearly past their prime. The $17 sandwich was about 25% smaller than my last one, as if it had gone on a diet without my consent. The corned beef was so fatty I half-expected it to come with a gym membership. I didn't have the energy to go back -- emotional damage had been done. So yeah, this will be my last visit. Pickles & Rye? More like Pickles & Why. Be sure to ask for your receipt. Otherwise, expect nada.

Yelp
Service is superb! Not my best cornbeef sandwich but I would try other food items. Cozy diner.

Yelp
Nothing beats a good deli sandwich and some old school grandma recipes. This place delivers. No frills restaurant clean and spot on service. We had tuna sandwich and steak and cheese panini with an order of latkes. Everything was delicious. A bit pricey buy portions are big good for sharing.

John B.

Yelp
Always had a good experience until tonight. My wife and I each ordered a corned beef sandwich. The beef tasted old and tough. We've never had this problem but for $53 for 1 and 1/2 sandwiches and 2 cups of soup we feel we had to report it. We won't be going back.

Yelp
Apparently this is the spot where Deli Unique used to be - I grew up in the WB area and I vaguely remember going there. I had never tried Pickles and Rye Deli before and another friend always talks it up, so when a different friend wanted to meet here for lunch today I was excited to try it. They start you off with a pickle plate, which was awesome, and some crunchy rye bread. The pickle plate included some new dill pickles and some old dill, my preference is new deal and so is my friend's so we asked for more of those. I am not a big deli sandwich fan but it looks like they have breakfast all day, and I ended up getting a cup of the kreplach soup and two potato latkes. The latkes are small-ish but make up for it in volume - unfortunately I did not take a photo but they came with applesauce and sour cream and they were very good. On the menu, it says $6 per potato pancake and $15 for a plate; a plate is 6 potato pancakes, but you can get 2 latkes for $6, so I'm not sure why it says $6 for one. My friend got the chicken Caesar salad, but with their garlic sauce instead of Caesar. I think she liked it a lot but she said their croutons have changed since the last time she got it. I also got a deli sandwich to go for my husband, so we'll see what his opinion is of it. There are a lot of delis in this area, most deli sandwiches now range about $15 which I feel like is expensive, but this deli was on par with those prices. My friend also got a slice of the strawberry cheesecake to-go for her husband and it looked really good. Overall I would come back here just for the soup, pickle plate, and potato latkes, but I'd like to try more of the menu as well.

Yelp
We went there with quite a large party (11adults and a small child). The service was very good and the food was, as well. Mushroom barley soup was delicious and the corned beef was very good.

Yelp
We were on this sound of town at lunch time and I always love a good Jewish deli, so we stopped by for a meal. The place was much bigger than we thought it would be! Our server, Cathy, was very friendly and attentive. I stuck with a classic - I got the "My Deli Addiction" - corned beef, cole slaw, Swiss and Russian dressing on rye. It was huge and messy...but it was delicious! My wife had the open face turkey sandwich and liked it. I look forward to going back and trying other items on the menu!

Yelp
Great food and staff! The restaurant was very clean, they offer pickles and rye bread to start and I highly recommend. Everything we tried was delicious. It is pricey in my opinion, $15 for a tuna sandwich (just the sandwich) was a bit much for me. But the food quality was amazing.

Yelp
Had a great sandwich and soup here. Nice rye, great corned beef, and loved the kreplach chicken soup. Everything was great, with great service. Absolutely great.

Yelp
Great restaurant, I was surprisingly impressed by this Deli. I lived in New York, and wow, I felt like I was eating food from NYC. I ordered a few simple sandwiches, but since they passed the test - time for soup!
google avatar

Maya C.

Yelp
I visited Pickles and Rye this week and I am so happy I did! The sandwiches were amazing! Totally tender, flavorful and each bite was great! The sides didn't want to take a back seat to the sandwiches! I couldn't get enough of those crunchy and delicious onion rings! The seasoned fries and the cheddar tots were also really good! We ordered the Sid and Seymour along with the scrumptious deli dip and those pickles.. it was such a pleasant meal! I also appreciate the owner who is very customer friendly and puts his all into making this a go-to establishment for so many!

Yelp
Pickles & Rye is light years ahead of any deli in the area! If you want a true Jewish deli experience, this is where you dine. It's a simple interior, very clean, with a selection of booth and tables. Always great service and as silly as it may sound, the basket of bread and the little bowl of new and sour pickles, is something I look forward to. Those sour pickles are so old school and amazing! Fantastic sandwiches, but I love their salads and their soups. Everything is fresh. If I had one complaint, and it's small, it would be more avocado on their Cobb salad. But nothing is a dealbreaker because you will leave satisfied. I don't wanna start a battle between delis, a competitors right across the street, but Pickles & Rye is the clear winner!

Yelp
Classic Jewish deli w/ all the signatures sammis, including my favorite, "my deli addiction".

Betty L.

Yelp
I don't know why I haven't been here for a long time. I had a corned beef and chopped liver sandwich this week that was excellent. It was lunch and dinner that day. The staff was busy but efficient and friendly. One friend had a giant Maurice salad and my other friend had matzoh ball soup. Both said their lunch was delicious. I'll be back soon.

Yelp
We went early morning so wasn't ready for anything heavy so I love avocado toast and I decided to add the lox they have a little salad on the side. It was more than enough ..and delicious .. every employee spoke whether they waited on us or not thought it was very friendly environment .. service was good and prompt. The bread with the pickles rye was the first serving and it was delicious. It was nice and warm and soft fresh bread, ambience was crowded as lunch crowd grew and I enjoyed it. I'll go back.

Yelp
Haven't been to Pickles & Rye for years. Val's Deli our usual deli and sometimes get dragged to the overpriced and undersized sandwiches and salads at Stage. Dinner this evening exceeded what I remembered. My corned beef sandwich had literally twice the beef compared to Stage and was very good. Also had mushroom barley soup which was not as thick as Stage, Val's or other delis but still good. My wife had a Cobb salad which was very large and also very good. A table next to us I saw a deli salad delivered which literally had 3x more corned beef and Turkey as a Stage salad for less money. Val's and Pickles and Rye are both good options if you are looking for a good/legit deli sandwich or salad .

Yelp
We ordered takeout from this deli and it was just ok. The salad I ordered was really boring with just lots of iceberg and boring dressing. My family's sandwiches were ok, but on the small side, and underwhelming in terms of meat quality, amount and spices. Locals might know which foods are better there, but for travelers passing through, their sandwiches and salads were average.

Yelp
Wandered in at about 11:30am on a whim. My stomach and I were happily pleased. There's an area to place your oder and a sitting area for something more formal. I'm not sure how you go about getting seated, but I just placed my to go order at the counter and came back after doing an errand. Having never been there before, the woman behind the counter was very friendly and welcoming. It was a good vibe for sure. Everything was well-wrapped, and I made it back to the office without any trouble from my sandwich. I ordered the "My Deli Addiction" since that feels like the most classic deli sandwich, and it was delicious. It didn't feel too too heavy or greasy. Just a pleasant sandwich that I happened to inhale. No sides required, that was plenty of meal for me. If I'm in the mood for some deli sandwiches, I would consider this a top contender. Not the best deli sandwich I've ever had, but an absolutely solid score.

Yelp
The food, the service, the price!!! All home runs! From Greek salad to deli to dinner entrees. Just a great local restaurant!!
google avatar

Dave M.

Yelp
Excellent deli. Service was terrific. The portions were ample and food was well prepared and quite tasty! Pastrami was lean and flavorful. Sweep potato waffle fries were excellent as were the fried pickles. I'll be back!

Sarah T.

Yelp
I've been here a few times. I must say... I'm not impressed. The staff always seem like they're annoyed ... they tell us to seat ourselves and take up to 10 min to approach us. Last time, the cups and silverware both had food on them... my friend and I walked out. (Without ordering) I won't need back. I believe the food is overpriced as well.

Dennis E.

Yelp
Excellent food at a reasonable price. Unlike other delis in the area, they were open for breakfast on a Sunday. We had seven people, and they sat us and fed us in an hour. Great menu and they're happy to make adjustments. I recommend it.
google avatar

Beccas Y.

Yelp
Me and my bubbie (grandma) go here all the time. The servers are always very helpful. The food never disappoints. I would definitely come here again.

Ryan K.

Yelp
I've lived in West Bloomfield my whole life and finally just discovered this restaurant. I ordered the Matzo Ball soup and the "Sid and Seymour" sandwich at it was all amazing. Our waitress Alisha was one of the sweetest waitresses I've ever had and I'll definitely be coming back!
google avatar

Jon C.

Yelp
Great corned beef sandwich. Hot and not dried out. Service was quick. I highly recommend this place.

Ron M.

Yelp
The 3 G's they have Good food with a large menu to choose from breakfast lunch and dinner. And they have waitress like the girl next door who listens intently to your order. And last this place is always busy which is a sure sign of good food and service and what you expect a New York Deli to look like in Manhattan.

Nicolas M.

Yelp
Always has been a top notch wonderful experience, I've taken out and dined in. This last time was great, the cabbage soup is a go to item, number 7 the big 3 is my favorite sandwich, and the latkes were cooked to perfection. The deli has the friendliest of service, attentive, even the owner came to make sure everything was up to expectations and treated us like family. They are always exceeded, I recommend over and over. I noticed they even do catering which I will have to use in the future,2 thumbs way up.
google avatar

Kathy S.

Yelp
My husband and I stubbled upon this place one evening and have been back now several times. We have never had a bad meal and have tried several things. Everything is so good! The wait staff has always been great! Highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
The food is really good absolutely love the ambience of an old school deli. We decided to get the Corned Beef with slaw and Swiss. With extra Russian on the side. You guys nailed it!! I remember the blitzes from Deli Unique and we ordered 1 just to see how it compared it was off the hook. Check this place out!!!!! Much better and cheaper than stage across the street which tries to nickel and dime everyone.

Alan C.

Yelp
A favorite stop when in Farmington Hills. Never had a bad meal here. Great food. Great service. Great Deli!
google avatar

Ben V.

Yelp
This is a great place to go for a big deli sandwich in the West Bloomfield area. I really enjoyed my corned beef and swiss sandwich! The salads are also great sizes and come with a lot of deli meat. The atmosphere is pretty laid back with not too much happening. The service is always great and I always love coming here with my family.

Nora M.

Yelp
Alisha was amazing. She made the place so much better. I was sick and sad and she made me glad. Food was great but service was even greater. The place also looked lovely.

Ken G.

Yelp
Four of us went to Pickles & Rye for dinner. One of us ordered a pastrami sandwich. It came as a corned beef sandwich. Sent back. A Reuben sandwich was ordered. It came without sauerkraut on it, which it was supposed to have. Sent back. Another sandwich was ordered on rye. It came on white. Decided to put up with it and did not send back. The fourth dish came as ordered. Food was just OK, nothing special, but the inability to fill the orders correctly took away any joy from the meal. This was my first time at Pickles & Rye, and it will most certainly be my last.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Again, never a disappointment. Battle Creek French toast, tried the fried pickles (delicious!) and had the Sid and Marty (perfect). Saw the same group of elderly folks we saw 2 months ago, so we know this is the prime meeting point. Always come back.

Marcia S.

Yelp
Service was great. But I was so disappointed in the turkey reuben. There was certainly a lot of turkey in it but the bread was very dry and the dressing was watered down. I've eaten here before and the food was good so was sorry for this fail.

Sandy L.

Yelp
We came here with a reservation with a group of 8 Restaurant was very accommodating when 2 more joined us. Our server was extremely patient, kind and helpful. Food came fairly quickly. Only complaint was my omelette was served with an olive topping , though the menu description had no mention of olives. Large portions and love the free pickles
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Oh my! Wonderful food, from the pickles and bread served before to the final entree bite. Corned beef melts in your mouth, grilled oriental chicken wrap was favorable with crisp fresh vegetables included, and I may not have found better onion rings. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Jenna E.

Yelp
I love this place!! I used to live close by now, I drive out of my way just to grab lunch here because it's that good!!! The Asian chicken wrap is absolutely amazing! The fried pickles are also great! Honestly everything I've tried here is fantastic! Highly recommend!! Great customer service, Anette and Trish!!

Carrie D.

Yelp
Just a wonderful Jewish Deli! Fabulous food, large portions, and excellent wait staff.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Ordered food to go and I LOVED the personality and hospitality of the cashier. She excelled at representing the business. Good food. I found it a little odd that the pickle was in a baggie though, ha!
google avatar

Samantha W.

Yelp
One of the things I've loved about living in Michigan once again is the ability to have great food from a local deli. P&R delivered an amazing salad with fresh ingredients! Thank you!
google avatar

Dick K.

Yelp
Courtney the manager, kudos. Eggs scrambled/pickles excellent/coffee service excellent

Nicholas P.

Yelp
Good food and lunch service was fast and polite. The waitress was helpful with diet restrictions offering multiple vegetarian options and checking to see if things were vegetarian or could be made vegetarian.
google avatar

Jeff P.

Yelp
The Hungarian cabbage was an impulse appetizer decision and it was wonderful. We really loved it. Even my 83 yo mother liked it- and she is very picky! We also had Ruebens and she had a corned beef sandwich. My mother was hoping for thicker corned beef on her sandwich , not the thinly sliced. The coffee cake dessert was also very good

Michele A.

Yelp
Took my husband for dinner as a Fathers' Day treat. We both enjoyed what we ordered. Sam, our waitress was enthusiastic and very accommodating. We'll certainly return. Not too noisy, just families enjoying eachother.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
The best restaurant i have ever been there , so cosy and just like home made food , quality perfect and server miss SAM is the best , she is friendly patient and kind and serve the food very fast .i highly recommend this place , thanks for all you do for us every Sunday dinner .

Richard F.

Yelp
Great food. Service. Price was very reasonable! Highly recommended. Ambiance was excellent.

Yelp
A very clean- modern deli. Server was excellent and in such a good mood. Holy matzo ball! Cup of soup each - was perfect ! Shared a basic number 5 sandwich. Corned beef, coleslaw, cheese,Russian dressing, on two pieces of great bread. They start you off with plate of 2 different kinds of pickles, rye bread and butter. $28 out the door, including tip.
