I enjoyed it very much first time trying it. It’s been revamp. It looks pretty cool but dress on a cold day everything‘s outside and they use Wagyu beef!

IF YOURE LOOKING FOR -A VERY DRY EXTREMELY PLAIN! -EXCESSIVELY OVERPRICED BURGER! -WITH A SIDE OF TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! THIS IS THE PLACE THAT HAS IT ALL! 3 BURGERS 2 FRIES AND 3 SODAS= $80+ Tip Very rude person took my order that I believe was the manager/owner. Every question asked was answered with a smug attitude. It was our first time here so I had questions about the items I ordered. The root beer is on draft with the tap directly next to the beer. This would make anyone assume it was an alcoholic beverage. The Lost Coast Tap handle that dispenses the root beer is a beer brand. When I asked if it had alcohol I got annoyed answer. “No it’s root beer”. The burgers are done medium but still extremely dry and smashed to ensure there is no moisture left in the meat. Topped with dry bun and an up charge of $2 for a slice of cheese. Avocado was another extra charge of $4 dollars. The burger size is what you’d expect to be for a child. If you like disappointment I highly recommend taking advantage of drinking a few alcoholic beverages before ordering your child sized overpriced meal. We are locals and will advise everyone we know to stay away from this establishment. Do yourself a favor and head to ANYWHERE else for a bite to eat.

I went all excited that it was open again only to find out they were not the same place, the owners must have sold and even though the lady behind the counter asked me if I wanted a shake i walked out with a root bear float and a burger that tasted like cardboard sort of my dogs burger was amazing though so kudos to the chef for that. Also probably shouldn't talk politics with thr customers.

I'm glad to see Pick's reopen under new (and more competent) ownership. The quality has improved and service is friendly; it's a little pricey, but this is Sonoma County and that's to be expected. Still, it's nice to see a local institution return in better shape than before.

The **perfect**: 1. Hot dog 2. Onion rings 3. Root beer float Wonderful friendly service and great outdoor dining at a restored and reinvigorated landmark burger stand. Can't wait to try the burgers!

We came with high hopes which in the half hour wait for our food were slightly dashed. As we sat we witnessed another customers food get picked up by mistake by a to go order with similar names yet no one bothered to check. Once the food finally arrived the cheese on my spicy chicken sandwich was not remotely melted the bun was cold and the chicken was luke warm my partners bacon and blue burger was tasty but alas the cheese was cold and both sandwiches were served on stale buns. The high point were the fries the seasoning was great and they were tasty. I brought my sandwich back un wrapped but untouched and asked if they could warm it up as it was cold. When the servers asked who I'm guessing is the kitchen manager or expoditor, let's just say the look on her face was very unpleasant. We both love to support local but unfortunately we will not be back.

Great spot. After a local 3 mile hike with the fam this was great. Burgers and Root beer, you can't go wrong. We all had a variation of a Cheeseburger and everyone chowed down. I had the Bacon Blue burger and it was legit. Kids meals came with a drink and fries so I figured a Med fry for remaining three of us would be good... A med is huge and the kids fries were decent..we had a lot of fries! The only reason it's not five stars.. the ordering process is slow.. he was hand writing our order ticket and didn't know the menu...so he had to look everything up. The wait for the food was about 10 min, so not to bad for fresh made..! Worth stopping at.

Stopped by for lunch. Many signs as the best burger in town. We had a Big Daddy burger and crispy chicken sandwich. Portions are small. Nothing spectacular in taste. Service was ok. Grab tables in back so you don’t get flies. Cook was very nice.

Got two burgers for dinner yesterday. Called in for pick up in 30 minutes and was ready right on time. We ordered one Cheeseburger and one Red White and Blue burger. Everything about these burgers was delicious. Cooked to a perfect medium, rare with fresh toppings and a crispy bun. Onion rings and garlic fries both perfectly fried and hit the spot. We topped it off with a chocolate, Nutella milkshake and it was the best dinner I've had in a long time. Thank you to the Pick's crew!

Called to pick up lunch for a coworker and I. Order was ready when I picked up. And so happy to learn they have impossible burgers. We drive thru cloverdale often so I will definitely be back.

If you find yourself in the Cloverdale vicinity craving a super tasty bigger - look no further! This is everything to love about a roadside drive-in burger stand! I have been coming here for years, and it seems like it gets better every time. They have a great range of burgers in varied sizes that will satisfy the muddy crotch budget conmeseur! The lovely sourced cousteau buns, perfectly prepeard grilled patties, and some of the best French fries and onion rings you will find. I dint know how they do it - the food is always great, and the service super friendly. This is a great local business and I highly recommend them if you are in the area!

This place is great. Kickass burgs, fried chicken, great beer and kind of gives off an outdoor Apple pan vibe where you just gotta know what and where to order. Got the sourdough burger and henhouse ipa and couldn't be happier. Definitely will be a regular stop in town when the warmer weather comes through.

Classic historical spot! The burgers are amazing, juicy and made exactly how you like them. They recently have pot pies that are take and bake and are to DIE for! They are always innovating and coming up with more goodies. Don't forget to get a delicious, thick shake. They have gluten free options! I want to emphasize this is NOT fast food but it is WORTH it!

Authentic family-owned and run burger spot. Love the vintage vibes and outdoor seating. Friendly people and good burgers. Great lunch spot!

I hope this place doesn't change, I love the local feel to it- it's been serving burgers for 100 years! Plenty of seating- heads up no indoor seating but it's not that kind of joint. They offer a smaller burger which is perfect size for people like me. We also had fries and a Rootbeer shake. Classic fare, probably will stop here whenever we make it up to Cloverdale.

We ate here today for the first time and loved it! The boho burgers were so fresh and delicious, burger was cooked to perfection nice and crisssspy. The tomato, onion lettuce and pickle were perfectly sliced and paired with the burgers. The onion rings were also perfectly crisp. We shared a chocolate milkshake and oh man was it just what we needed! The service was very friendly and fast. I see people complaining about the wait time, and yes! Good food that's made fresh takes longer than your average McDonald's. Yes, the prices are higher. But that's because it's fresh local beef, not pink slime from McDonald's. If you want cheap and fast go to McDonald's. Or support a family owned restaurant that has been around since 1923! We will definitely return for more. It was just what we needed after a very long day.

Tasty burgers with great service. Hamburgers are made to order with real ground meat not the pressed "globs" you get elsewhere. The burger patty has nice crispy ground meat edges. Buns are soft but do not fall apart. Onion ring batter is light and crispy and an actual onion ring not minced.

2 "Big Daddy" burgers and a side of fries= 37$ Asked for condiments on the side so we didn't get any Wait was almost 35 minutes Food tasted schmeh.

Good burgers and fries. The service was friendly, if a bit slow. Very pleasant outdoor seating. The bathroom was very clean.

I'm writing this cause I care. Please do not destroy this 100 year old restaurant! What happened to the service? For years, I would always come to Picks when in the area, but today: *the server waited on another person through I'd been there for several minutes waiting, (the customer was an elderly gentleman... so I just mouthed I'd been waiting to her... but after she helped him, she went inside the establishment and didn't come back out for minutes so I had to wait until another server came out!) *they gave me a lot of guff when I wanted to get a bigger burger instead, told me to buy another one... *they burned the crap out of the burger that I did get... it was inedible, *the party was much smaller and thinner the last time I came, which is part of why it was burnt, *they f****d up the order by putting onions on it, not on the side like my daughter wanted. The order was only cheese on the top... everything else on the side... not too deep. and I got to pay 30 for a hot dog and a burger and onion rings... that were not correct. 3 employees. One, the husband of the owner, was slightly upbeat and friendly. Two were not.

So I love Picks, don't get me wrong. Their food is delicious. However, for someone who comes from the Singlethread family, it leaves a lot to be desired. My main issue is the inconsistent hours. I understand it's a small family run operation, however I have attempted to go and eat there multiple times and they've been closed way before their scheduled closing time. Either they need to update their Google hours or they need to keep the hours updated on their Instagram. I follow their instagram solely to find out if they're open or not and the majority of the time there's nothing on Instagram about them closing early and yet they're closed. My second issue is how inconsistent their menu is. I would suggest taking down the menu and advertising that they have a changing menu. I loved their old grilled chicken sandwich and there's been a couple instances where they would say they just didn't prep it that morning. I want to support the small local businesses however, as someone with many years in the restaurant industry, I just have too hard of a time dealing with their inconsistent hours and menu. I think they should have someone running their social media who is 100% able to update the hours constantly. If they had consistent hours, I would be there way more often.

Always courteous and can't pass root beer float and a hamburger. Love going there and sitting outside.

My picky butt was very pleased with this place, came back twice in one weekend. Ordered the Peanut butter and strawberry shake and fries, then came back for a cheeseburger, fries and more of that yummy Peanut butter milkshake! (to hungry, forgot pix) Everything was delicious. Wish the shake was thicker, personal opinion.

Great burgers and shakes located right off the Blvd. easy to walk to in the summer and pet friendly. There is no indoor seating so be prepared to eat outside. I wish they were open more in the cooler winter months.

It's good, but the prices are way way way up there for a drive in. This used to be an annual stop on the way home from camping, but we'll be finding a new more reasonably priced option. On our last trip through I got a burger, onion rings, and a soda...$30!!!

Great milkshakes and fries! Probably the best milkshake I've ever had and a lot of flavors to choose from. You can even mix flavors. The bag of fries was huge and hit the spot. Staff was friendly and although there were a few other customers, we got our order in less than 10 minutes. It was pretty cold when we came but they do have a covered counter with stools you can sit and a picnic table you can sit at (if it's not raining).

OMG can i say...we really noticed/liked the difference in food quality! 1st time back since new ownership took over July 2021 and differance on food quality is night and day! Less greasy burger , fresh veggies , yummy . Not to mention the building looks clean/freshly painted! They have given Picks a new lease in life! Husband & wife team show pride in ownership and are there working alongside their friendly staff! We'll definitely be back and most importantly start telling/referring people to go eat there again! Finally an alternative to Fast Food Mega Chains at south end of town!

When I first moved to Cloverdale I was a Picks fan. Now with new ownership the prices have greatly increased and service has slowed down. Not going back after several tries. Greasy food in greasy bag.

Food is fine. Which is the problem. The food should be better when they're charge $17 for a dry burger with *no drink and no side*. Staff is friendly and food is made quickly, which is worrying because I doubt they get paid fairly. Location is nice. Over all, I do not recommend you spend your money here for half a meal.

Lived in Cloverdale for 6 years and have been trying to support local business. Picks has steadily gotten worse over the past few years. Poor customer service and poor management. Today is farewell to Picks. Couldn't order the cheeseburger I wanted. Out of buns. Chocolate milkshake? Nope. Out of ice cream. 20 minutes with no crowd to fry up a couple of burgers? Come on. If your driving through the area. Go to the micro brewery or skip Cloverdale and Picks altogether.

Food was just okay. Outside tables were in desperate need of cleaning. Staff consisted of what appeared to be young teens who took a while to come outside to take our order at the counter and who could use a little customer service training. Condiment cups were tiny. Prices were a little high for what you get in my opinion. Cute establishment though. Seems like a popular spot for locals.

This place used to be great, owned by local business woman, food was good, fairly priced, and she was efficient. It's on it's second owner since, the food has gone down, the service is poor, when they're busy forget about it, it might take 20-30 minutes to take your order with 5 or 6 people in line. They are chronically under staffed, and their prices have gone nutty. $27 for a burger, fries, and a coke, and it was just OK. Try the Eagle down the street, nothing great there either but you'll get the same "just OK" for half of that with much better service.

We love going to Picks for a soft serve ice cream! Right downtown after a Friday Night Live music, we walk over here to get some ice cream. The staff is nice and welcoming, always a bunch of people here enjoying food and treats! It is our go to spot in the summer for our soft serve! We have tried the food before and it is very good, but it is rare we will spend $15 on one cheeseburger!

Nicole and her husband have done a great job with Picks. It has tons of character, the burgers are really good and the fires are excellent. Good shakes and beer selection too.

If you're pass through Cloverdale off the 101, you HAVE to stop and try this place!!! Burger and fries were fresh and delicious! Fries are fresh cut! They also have ice cold beer on tap from various local breweries.

New ownership = quality product! Bravo! Grab a pint and enjoy onion rings and an amazing burger along with it!

Pick's really lived up to its signage today: best burgers in Cloverdale! So delicious! The extra crispy onion rings and sweet potato fries were also incredible! Good job, Nicole and Co!

We came here on a whim during a road trip. We are vegetarian and they make their own veggie patties. 10/10!!!! The buns? Oooooo, so buttery and flavorful! Ok, but the fries? Omg. Seriously. The absolute best ever. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the outside. Perfection. I felt the need to write this because we were debating between the cheaper option of Carl's Jr. or here. Picks definitely cost more than Carl's, but it was 100% worth it. 100%. Will return!

I've avoided leaving this review as this place is a local institution. I'd hoped the new owners would improve things, but nope. Erratic hours that don't match the posted sign, long wait times, VERY pricey for your average roadside burger, and a special thanks to Picks for not being open last week when I ordered for pick up and arrived to get my food WITHIN THE POSTED HOURS. Showed up at 11:30 (they open at 11) to a closed sign and the place shuttered (this is after my card was charged online). Went somewhere else to get lunch and while driving home, saw they had finally opened (40 minutes later). Walked up and explained what happened, the girl was apologetic and promised me the order could be "cancelled" resulting in my card not being charged for the food I didn't receive, thanks to their random hours. Well, she was wrong, my card was charged for the lunch I never got to pick up, and I just finished disputing the charge with my bank since Picks is such a mess. I know there are loyalists in town who will stand by this place no matter how little they care for their customers, but I for one am done for good. No one wants to see Cloverdale become the next Healdsburg, yet they continue to support businesses that hold folks hostage to their substandard service by simply being one of a few limited choices in a small town. Enough is enough for me.

It was really hot, but according to my husband it is always hot in Cloverdale. But the heat made us very thirsty and the water was empty multiple times; granted we did come during a big surge of customers and apparently we were all hot, thirsty and hungry. We had to ask for napkins, more water in the pitcher, salt&pepper, they forgot dressing on the salad, ran out of the ketchup cups.... But, the gals working were hustling / doing their best and the food was delicious (except the hot dog tasted "funky" said my 10yr old) so we still ranked the 4 stars.

Stopped here on a road trip by total chance and was delighted with the most delicious veggie burger I've had in years & awesome milk shakes! Fueled us up for the long drive ahead

If you find yourself in Cloverdale please do yourself a favor and stop at Picks Drive-In. I grew up in Cloverdale and have fond memories of this location. The new ownership has really done an excellent job of upgrading the menu but also keeping the old favorites in place. Get yourself a soft serve cone. They are delicious and you get a ton of ice cream for the affordable price. I got myself a Chocolate Peanut Butter shake and it's heavenly. It's like drinking a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup! So hit up this gem of a place!

I stopped over To get a Burger and waited 45 minutes for Is red white and blue Burger Burger and chili cheese fries and a Coke the red white and blue Burger comes with grilled onions bacon And blue cheese 45 minutes later I get a Burger with sliced onion no bacon And they forget the Coke $28 So I go and tell the lady that there's no bacon on the Burger or grilled onions she said I'm sorry but we just got the bacon in just now I said what happened to the grilled onions did you just get those 2 very bad Service Tiny Burger Chili cheese for I sucked and she tried to give me a Is 3/4 of Cup of soda When I complained she wanted to give me back dollar for the bacon Highway robbery

Great food. Great customer service. Outdoor seating. One serving of fries was good for 3 of us. Didn't try the shakes, but they look amazing.

Stopped in while driving north through CA. Nice old style drive in right in the main drag. Outdoor seating with plenty of shade trees. Clean place with a clean restroom. Great burgers, corn dogs and chicken fingers. The burgers have a great crust with plenty of topping options. Made to order in 4-7 oz sizes. The fries are awesome and so are the shakes. Great old place with great food. Give your family a treat and stop in.

I've been coming here for years and I've heard they are under new ownership which unfortunately translates to insanely overpriced mediocre food. I spent $26.53 on a burger, onion rings and a soda...Let that sink in. I don't mind paying these prices for higher quality food (ie Shake Shack) but their quality is not even comparable to In n Out. I ordered their "larger" big daddy 7 oz cheeseburger which was dwarfed by the bun by a long shot. It's a great location and such a staple in the community it's just sad to see how the new owners are trying to seriously gouge customers. I'll end this review with... $26.53 for a burger, onion rings, and a soda.

Definitely worth the drive down the street! Pretzel buns on the burgers (handmade from grass fed beef), Sea salt on the fries that were potatoes before your meal started, and salad on the side. Generous portions! You can have the fries and salad with the burger, and still have plenty of fries. For the Irish in you, they have housemade corned beef and other treats. Kid & dog on leash friendly - kids menu and water bowls. Outdoor patio dining (covered with fans) and restroom with a changing table. Reasonable prices!

New owners...and they have more work to do to match the previous operation. Took the family there yesterday. The burgers were excellent. Fries, too. $112 for 7 burgers and 3 orders of fries. Sadly, the main attraction is gone- the softie ice cream machine! Used to get a monster cone for just a couple bux! Kids LOVED them! GONE! Now, its pricey "regular" ice cream only ...at least $4 per cone. So we stopped at Grocery Outlet and bought a big tub and had ice creams at home. So- my takeaway: great burgers, fewer choices, higher prices.

We stopped here on the way from Fort Bragg after our friends sent us a photo of them stopping for burgers at a different place that shall remain nameless, since WE clearly had the better option!!! Once I read this place was owned by the same owners as the Healdsburger, we knew we had to stop. I'm so glad we did. Burger was cooked perfectly and the FRIES!!!! Hand cut and so delicious!!! We will definitely be stopping her again next year on our way back!!

Came here for the 4th time today. By far, the garlic fries are consistently the best item here. This time, we got a grilled cheese, garlic fries, and a rocky road milkshake. They were out of so much! They were out of sourdough, so they substituted a wheat-nut kind of bread. She neglected to tell us this until I asked what kind of bread they use for the grilled cheese. I was okay with the different kind, but they need to be forthcoming about that kind of information. They also gave us one of the heels of the bread, which I feel restaurants shouldn't serve. We sent it back to be put on the grill because the cheese wasn't melted all the way. It tasted really good after that. They were also out of ranch AND milk. How are they out of three staple items?! We got the milkshake after a time after they went to the store to pick some up. It was decent, not anything to write home about. Ive gotten the hangover burger before. It was good but my main complaint is that they put it on ciabatta bread and I just don't think it's the right fit. I would switch to regular buns if I ordered again. This place is owned by the same people and is similar to Healdsburger in Healdsburg, but Healdsburger performs better. The service is good - all young, friendly employees who are very sweet but don't necessarily know exactly what to do or react service wise. Whoever manages this place really needs to make sure they have all the necessary supplies. If you come close to closing time, you have to get it to-go so they can close up shop. You can still eat at their tables but it will be in to-go bags instead of trays and baskets

We normally love to support local restaurants but the service at Pick's tonight was not good. Over an hour wait for one burger and fries. When we asked for an update on our food, we got told that the wait was not their fault because one of their employees gave our food away to another customer.

So it's been two years and this is our first time back camping since kid #5 was born. Burgers night at the campsite but I forgot to bring a key piece of my grill and we couldn't grill out. I was HEART broken. Short version, we drive to Cloverdale and land at Pick's...and I love burgers. I have had the joy of eating amazing burgers all across the country - the Hell Burger at 50/50 in Chicago is one of my all time favs, and Los Angeles - where we're from originally - is a burger paradise. I was so discouraged because I wasn't cooking at the campsite, and a truism in our family is that our kids never remember camping meals we eat at a restaurant. They never recall them in a conversation later. But the kids somehow remember every meal we eat at a campsite, weird but true, and that's why I was just so bummed to be in town grabbing food. And then we get these burgers served to us - on a 95 degree day, mind you - and I got the R.W.B. burger...and, folks, just listen. I was not ready for how amazing this burger was going to be. It was the best burger I have had in years and years. I couldn't believe it. Amazingly simple and big and fresh and the onions were bonkers, and the fries were better than IN N OUT by miles. And I love IN N OUT fries, so don't spend time hating on IN N OUT fries because I like fries that were still potatoes seconds before they were cooked and I eat them, and while I didn't see the couple inside cook them up, I am sure the fries were potatoes minutes before I ate them - BOOOOOM. Saw the cashier help out an under-served disabled gentleman and she treated him with tremendous respect and discretion. Bearded dude in an apron came out and blessed my kids with sidewalk chalk while they waited for their food! Food and atmosphere was so stinking good that we didn't want to leave, and even the two year old demolished his cheese burger. So we got ice cream and WHAT IN THE WORLD?? Who are these people?? I got this peanut butter cup in chocolate ice cream 'thing' - my wife ordered it - served in a humble plastic cup, and not like a ton of it either, and I took a bite and holy moly it was decadent. That's the word - decadent ice cream at a picnic table at a walk up hamburger stand in Northern California, home of the best cheeseburger I may have ever eaten. It made me love the town. And the kids talked about it on the ride home, and so this will def be the first 'restaurant' meal they will remember. Thank you, Pick's!! Keep doing this beautiful thing you do.

Hard to get overly excited about a burger joint but this is a really, really good one! Went here based on reviews and we were so happy we did. Both our burgers were Delicious perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. Not one single gristle piece which usually equals a fail for me personally - as it causes me to lose my appetite when I get them. Cajun fries were awesome not greasy, chocolate shake was yummy it was all just A+ Only reason it's not 5 stars is for the very few cons ... first being we were close to over run with flies - which they really can't control (it's all outside seating). Tables weren't wiped down, unisex bathroom was pretty icky, and several of the staff seemed stoned (seriously) which was both comical and then annoying especially when they couldn't pronounce my very simple name and walked around trying to give our food to someone name "Coo-uh". (My name is Kay and I even spelled it for the guy) Other than that based only on food quality and taste -- you should definitely try it out. We will return

The food at Pick's is good. I personally think it's overpriced but I don't mind spending a little more to support fresh ingredients and a locally owned business. However the staff and service here are seriously below par and can be outright rude. No matter how many people are there, expect to wait for your food. And I'm not talking just about the burgers. Even waiting for a single ice cream cone can take a long time. Their response is always that they're understaffed but when months go by and you're still using that same excuse, not sure what that says about the business. Oh, and if you're at all dissatisfied, heaven forbid you say something. I made a passing comment that we had been waiting a while and the owner angrily went into the back and got my order, giving me attitude and then commented about how I was overexaggerating the wait. Which is hard to do when you had a receipt with a time stamp. And when I pointed it out they rolled their eyes at me and proceeded to ignore me. Food... good.... Service... not enough to keep my business.
