Been coming here for twenty eight years. As of August fifteen 2023 they are tearing down the building and building condos. These pictures are the last pictures you'll see from pickwick with people bowling. This is a very sad time going to miss this fun place.

Google
Not overly expensive, nice bar to have some drinks, and usually some lanes will be open. If you get hungry, theres a snack bar, which offers food, drinks, and snacks. For the kids, there’s games and pool. I highly suggest visiting this local bowling alley!! There’s lots of lanes, nice bar, and things to keep the kids busy. Check it out

By far the best customer service!! After being treated like trash at Holiday Inn Media Center, the employees at Pickwick gardens were respectful, amazing, nice, caring and by far professional! They showed us the whole facility and their banquet rooms. Each with different style and the view to the court yard was amazing! The prices were very reasonable and worth every penny and more. The catering food was delicious and well made! A big Thank you to the chef. They day of our event the staff was A+++++. The Bartender Sandra was very professional and made everyone feel welcomed as we ordered drinks. The person in charge of staff was very helpful and was able to accommodate us throughout the party. The two servers were amazing! They were so nice and attentive. I would highly recommend to make an appointment before going any where else. If you have received any other quotes from other places, please take a chance on Pickwick Gardens! Ask for Diana, she is an amazing sale Rep.

We toured the location to host our Wailers Ski Club Holiday party. Great garden. They work with you in what you are looking to do. Call Kristin she is really helpful. Prices are really reasonable . The rooms were booked so we could not go in. But the diagrams are perfect.

Google
Great place to have meetings. The price is fair, better other places in town. It's for weddings, bowling, fun on the ice. A good place for kids of all ages.

Was there for a wedding reception. Fopd was above and beyond. Dinner was plated, not buffet.. The venue allowed us lots of space. Service was good, bathrooms were quite a walk away, but ckean. No idea how expensive it is.

We had a wonderful time. My Son and Daughter in-law had the last Wedding that will ever be held there on 8/19/23

Went to DragonFest here. What a great two day event. Lots of martial arts stars and stunt people. Seminars and lots of vendors. Event was put on by the Martial Arts history Museum in Burbank, CA

Yelp
I am not sure Pickwick Gardens is closing or not, but sadly, Pickwick bowl is along with the banquet rooms, as well as the Riverside room. They are all closing as of next week. Pickwick Gardens has been in Burbank for over 60 years and a staple of the community the entire time. It sounds like the family sold the property to a developer that's going to build a bunch of new homes on the site as the land is very valuable. This was a great place for parties in their banquet rooms, you could rent them out for weddings or events of any kind. They were always very nice here and the service was great. Price was reasonable compared to other venues. It's a shame (if they are In fact closing along with Pickwick Bowl) we're losing another staple and can't get back the history. I believe the ice rink is going to stay open and operated by the LA Kings. I won't sign off with my typical enjoy! As this is a sad day.

Yelp
If you're going to pick a wick, this is the wick you should pick. Great gardens and indoor venue!

Yelp
My daughter's school is preparing for their dance and they asked for quote and such but when it's time to get the COI (certificate of insurance) they got the run around. They couldn't provide it. 4 week has gone by and still nothing. Not very good in communicating. Finally after non stop calls and emails from the school they said that they understand if the school choose to go to a different company/venue. They could've said that right away so the school didn't waste so much time now they're out of time and can't find a different venue.

Yelp
Pickwick Gardens is a nice venue for large parties, weddings, special occasions which require room for hundred or more people. It is a huge space with neutral white walls, minimal decorations. It's more like a blank canvas upon which you put up your own decorations to provide a theme or mood. I'm sure for a fee, all the decorating, catering, music, wedding cake, party coordination, etc. can be obtained. There are large round table cloth covered banquet tables capable of about 10 people per table. Also a wooden dance floor. The grounds are well maintained although I wouldn't say it was lush, opulent, well designed. Just tastefully utilitarian. 3 Yelp stars for a good venue to host large events.

Yelp
My husband and I had our wedding reception in the garden at Pickwick Gardens last October. The food was great - we did a taco theme with a Brazilian spin and the chef NAILED IT. It had rained the day before so the ground was slightly muddy in some spots but the setup staff did their best to rearrange the tables to avoid the worst spots. Plus, the already beautiful garden was especially gorgeous because of the rain. There's tons of parking available at the venue. We really need to give a special shoutout to Kristen, the venue coordinator. She was so easy and awesome to work with. She also went above and beyond when I emailed her the night before the party in panic about a potential bakery issue; she told me not to worry about it and that she'd handle it. I don't know what she had to do to fix it but she did it, ya'll. On the day of our party, I hadn't expected to see too much of her as she'd recently had an injury but this saintly woman showed up on crutches to make sure everything was perfect.

Yelp
Such a beautiful place for a wedding!! The gardens are gorgeous for pictures and the weather was nice. The food however was over cooked for the meat and the veggies were undercooked. To lightly seasoned for me as well. Drinks were all on point, very delicious and looked fancy! I'm just not sure if they hired a bartender for the wedding or if it was through the vendor. They also have activities like bowling if you decide no cocktail hour. They have two different parking areas and they need more direction for each. That was a-little confusing but we lucked out and went to the right one. Overall a very nice place just needs some work on the meals!

Yelp
Who would have known by driving by this place that this would be a great place for a wedding???? Seriously, bowling alley and ice skating rink.....?? Haha no, but they do have a fairly large garden area and large reception rooms. My sister had her wedding ceremony here last weekend. (They had their reception at another venue). Robbie is the wedding coordinator and she was pretty organized. They have a large tented area outside with a stage at the front. There's also a water feature behind the stage. My aunt added some extra decorations to the area where the stage is and added bows to the white chairs. Just a note - the bridal room is fairly small. There were 4 bridesmaids plus the bride, my mom and my aunt! There was NO WAY that we could all get ready in there. There would have been 11 people trying to cram into that little room (we had our hair & makeup people). So we ended up getting ready at my house instead and my sister only used that room to change into her dress. It was also REALLY hot when we first walked into that room. The only thing that annoyed me was that there was another event in a room close to the bridal room and they were playing music really loud. We could barely hear each other. Other than that, the outdoor garden is a great place to hold a wedding ceremony and there was tons of space to take photos.

Yelp
June 2019 we held our Celebration of Life of my son who passed away unexpectedly at age 34. The sales and catering staff at Pickwick, lead by Diana Valenzuela, were exceptional. From first meeting to final wrap-up, our celebration could not have gone better. They listened to our vision, offered suggestions and help, adjusted when things changed at the last minute and never left our side. Of all of the things I heard from attendees that difficult day, the word that I heard most often was "classy". The gardens are beautiful, the service was spot on and the staff were ready when needed and invisible when not. I could not have asked for a better venue.

Yelp
After a failed attempt to bowl since it was full for the evening, we decided let's try Ice Skating and since we where hyped from watching the L.A. Kings win, bring on the foil..... I was iffy about going in since there was a group of guys outside smoking and blocking our entrance to the entrance so that thew me off... Well we decided to go in regardless since my friend had brought his skates to get them sharpened, so in we went and the skating shop was closed because the person called out sick - yes the entire store remains closed because 1 employee is sick! After that failed attempt, where here lets at least look at the ice ring.. so in we went and it was decent and had a good amount of people on the ice. It was 9:30ish and public skating that night was only till 10 then it's for the men, well it was for the men blocking the entrance with their smoking. Apparently at that time they suit up and play hockey; So there was no way I was going to get a "lesson" that night but I told my friend go hit the ice since we where here. He went to ask how much it was and since it was less then a 1/2 an hour they just said go ahead, so he laced up and off to the ice he went ( a little rusty from his Hockey days) Overall it was a nice experience to watch couples practicing, kids pretending to play out their favorite hockey player and actually seeing a real lesson being taught. I myself was just waiting to see my friend hit the ice face first, apparently having your blades sharpen is an important factor to ice skating. They also had a snack shop in the ring as well and of course Air Hockey. We intend to return to get his blades sharpen and for me to attempt ice skating.. it's a good thing I got a booty because I have a feeling I'm going to need the cushion.

Yelp
Great event venue that includes a hall, park and even a bowling alley. Attended the 2018 DragonFest event and seminars. Excellent, had free parking and lot's room for stage events and vendors.

Heather B.

Yelp
I attended a wedding here recently and it was just so beautiful! The person running the event did such an amazing job! I believe she was a blonde lady, she really killed it! Congrats to the bride and groom and what an amazing venue!

Linda L.

Yelp
I was here yesterday for an event and absolutely loved this venue. Such a beautiful garden area with so much space, beautiful trees and flowers, and incredible lighting. The staff there were very kind and helpful. Overall I had a great time at a very beautiful venue. Would definitely consider for the future.

Lauren S.

Yelp
I attended an event here at Pickwick Gardens tonight. The venue was very beautiful. The food was decent and the bar was awesome. Basically its a venue next to a bowling alley. Very interesting.. I know... There's plenty of parking here. I actually saw a security guard walking around the parking lot..

Yelp
Being on ice-skating hiatus for almost 20 years, I decided to bust out my very old figure skating boots and have high expectations of being the next Kristi Yamaguchi. The ice and my balance didn't feel the same as it did back then, but Pickwick Ice looked exactly the same. This place is in dire need of a face lift...Truly archaic looking. But don't judge a book by it's cover. This ice rink is NHL size rink. Several times available for public skating, but the ice gets so beaten up its impossible to skate properly. If you plan to skate more than a few times, cough up the money and get yourself a pair of skates and go to the freestyle sessions. You end up paying a lot less in the long run and have better ice to skate on. There is bowling adjacent to the ice rink and they also have a garden area for events and wedding. Free parking too.

Stephy S.

Yelp
I've been going bowling at Pickwick since I could barely pick up a bowling ball, well still can't depending on how many cocktails I've had (i kid), but this place still has the cool charm it had when I was a little. It's cheap, chill and filled with nice people who are there to bowl and have fun. There's also an ice rink where I acquired many a black and blue mark as a youth and they do weddings at the center as well. I've only been to one wedding here and I was 9. But at 9 and surrounded by adults making chicken sounds and flapping their arms, I've pretty much tried to block that traumatizing memory out of my head. But I won't hold it against ya Pickwick :)

William A.

Yelp
Went to The Gardens for a Black Tie Affair for the Campbell Center. The place had plenty of parking for the night. The Gardens has multiple items like bowling, ice rink, banquet hall, equestrial activities are right down the street. The service was very nice. Attendants always on tables with a smile. They had vegan meals too. Our meal was chicken and beef. The beef was far more tender than the chicken. Nice crispy veggies n good Champaign. Great time.

Carol H.

Yelp
It's nice but I still think the burying of the beautiful huge round swimming pool (held 1 million gallons of water) with grass around it was a big loss to the surrounding community and a big waste. It had a cement island in the middle with high and low diving boards and the lifeguard's chair was on the back of the high diving board, giving them a good safe view of the swimmers. People laid on beach towels on the grass around the pool. Yes, I know Pickwick doesn't owe us anything, but I think it's a hugh waste of something that must have been extremely expensive to build and offered so much summer fun just to have something to walk around on. And for what? To have celebrations of what seems to make most people miserable later on (weddings).

Denise S.

Yelp
We had my daughter's Baby Shower in the Rose Garden room. It was a beautiful champagne brunch with more than enough food. The room is a blank canvas, which provided us plenty of space and flexibility to add our special decorations to the shower. The staff was extremely pleasant and friendly, and accommodated every request we had. I definitely recommend the Pickwick Gardens for special events. Shout out to the coordinator, Diana Valenzuela and the event Manager of the day, Nelson, for making my daughter's day VERY special!

Lizette D.

Yelp
One star only cause of the bad service that the bartender(Sandra) we had at the party. The party we had was good but I don't think that she is happy doing her job! the place is really good tho and nice for events.

Lala R.

Yelp
They give you a choice of hockey or figure skates for rentals, Nice!. Prices are comparable to other places. They have classes, hockey, and events that you can participate in or watch. It's great to get out of the heat. They don't have a lot of skate nights for adults but it's in a great location and I can go bowling before or after which is awesome. You can also go across the street to the Mexican restaurant for a bite after you skate off your previous meal. Fun!

Lois K.

Yelp
Went to Pickwick Ice for my friend's 27th bday. She bought an online deal so a group of 8 of us were able to go for $4/person for admission and skates! At first we drove to the main Pickwick Gardens building, where there is a sign for iceskating. When we walked in, it was a bowling alley and were told to go to the next driveway for the ice rink. Unlike the parking at the main building, which had a lot of empty spots, the parking at the rink was PACKED. Lots of people iceskating on a Saturday night. Environment was light and fun - everyone on the ice was pretty nice and friendly, which was good since I spent a lot of time in the beginning going really slow and gripping onto the sides for dear life. (Even kids who were holding onto the sides had to go around me.) Fewer of those pro-skater types here than at the Pasadena Ice Skating Rink (where I "learned" how to iceskate as a kid), which is great for me as it doesn't make me feel as incompetent. The casual, unassuming atmosphere made it perfect for a fun night out with the gals!

Mathew N.

Yelp
Pickwick Gardens lands somewhere between classy and tacky to be completely adequate. Indoors are clean but dated. Outdoors are always lovely with several serene gardens. If you don't mind having your wedding next to a bowling alley this might be the place.

Mat P.

Yelp
Catching up on reviews. So I am writing a review based on mine and the Ladyfriend's experience at her high school reunion that was held here spring of last year. I typically avoid these types of gatherings, but anyhow, here goes. Pretty intense stuff, seeing what the years can do to people. The culmination of many bad boob jobs, binge drinking, illicit pharmaceutical benders, face lift scars, more parties, kids, more parties, jail/prison/psychiatric ward time, whatever. And the attitudes but oh well. The food was good, as was the bar, parking decent. The facility clean. I recommend it for weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, reunions and what not.

Shawn T.

Yelp
I've both attended a wedding at Pickwick Gardens and I've been a vendor there many times to film weddings. As a guest, I had an amazing experience. My best friend got married there in the outdoor garden and then had the reception indoors. We had a great time; the food was awesome and the staff was really nice. As a videographer I got to experience the venue in a different way. Kinda behind the scenes. The staff there are very helpful and professional. They make everyone's job so much easier because they are well organized and they make the clients happy. And those happy face look great on video and in pictures. No matter what room you have your party in, you have a great view of the gardens. You'll get great footage and pictures if you have your event there. Take a look at this wedding we shot here. It's so beautiful. https://vimeo.com/155565925

Yelp
Can't speak to the bowling or ice skating. I went for a show put on by a friend's band in the Riverside Room. Can't fully recommend the experience. The room was good for the Southern Rock show with good acoustics, but... ...The bar, bartender and food service all sucked to avoid beating around the bush. It was a night where the management had run dry on specialty mixers and thus figuratively redacted the entire bottom half of the drink menu. I'm a beer guy so I had very little problem here. The bartender moved at the speed of Slowpoke Gonzalez (Speedy's cousin). He didn't come off as terribly friendly and seemed incapable of keeping up with the minor rush created by the rock show and a typical Friday night at the bowling alley. Again, keeping my action to beer helped slightly. However, I was also hungry and ordered a cheeseburger and waited about forty-five minutes for a decent but still average burger. I got to watch as the rush got worse and the service went into the toilet with it. Other patrons got annoyed as even their simple drink orders were progressively delayed. I missed the whole opening band. I went out to my car and got my water bottles because I was at the point where I wished I'd known so I could've gone to the supermarket and marched in a twelve-pack. I was basically done supporting this Mickey Mouse operation desperately in need of a visit from Gordon Ramsay in his full on loudest and most yelling-est glory. Next time, I will slip my friend's starving musician jar $10 and actually sneak in my beer and a sandwich under my hoodie.

Edmond G.

Yelp
Beautiful Place, our wedding was ( Aug.27,2016) there and ceremony, food, flower setting was excellent, thank you Diana for coordinating an excellent wedding . I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Plenty of parking , and the rooms are large enough to Cather about 80-100 people. Great place to do any event.:)

Anh T.

Yelp
When the opportunity came to beat down some of the overachieving nerds in my class, I couldn't pass it up. For $20 a head (about 30 people total), my classmates rented out the ice rink for an epic broomball/dodge ball/tug-of-war event, from 11pm to 2am. Add some pre-partying in the parking lot and BYOBing on the sidelines, it quickly turned into a massacre by midnight. Although no nerds actually died in the process, I did get to do what I do best - play with a bunch of balls in the middle of the night.

Cynthia S.

Yelp
Came to a wedding here.... Beautiful place to have an outdoor wedding.. the setup was nice and clean and the ceremony was beautiful.... Inside the venue was big and pretty... The food was ordered from a catering company so cant comment on that. The stage was a nice size and the dance floor was a good size. It was a nice place to experience someones wedding that I didn't know.. I was the +1. Good experience and gave me a chance to add another review! p.s. if you get bored go next door and bowl!!

Mimi C.

Yelp
The other day I came here to check out their wedding venue. I walk in and it was a bowling alley. mmmm...what a pleasant surprise! If you don't want to deal with all the crazy people, come down here. At the time, they had a kid's birthday party. I found myself standing still in the middle of wild running children, but looked so much fun. Anyway, the info I had received was okay.... thought it was a bit ghetto. First star...........for the location. Second star....for different events/activities held. Third star..........for coziness and friendliness. Definitely, this gal will not be walking down the aisle here...instead, you'll see her handling the balls....bowling balls at that!

Hector R.

Yelp
If your planning to hold an event I'd highly recommend this place one of our concerns was to.be able to find accommodations for our guest which made this place a no brainer with the hotels near by. We worked with coordinator Diana Valenzuela who was a total professional at what she does. She had great ideas and suggestions that helped so much when it came to our party. The staff was on point throughout the night and attentive to our guest. There is plenty of parking and the garden area is very nice if you'd like to take pictures outside. Do yourself a favor and check this place out you won't regret it.

Brian R.

Yelp
I like my bowling like I like my women... cheap, old, and stinky. Thats why I love Pickwick. I like a bowling alley to be a bowling alley.. with a creepy bar that has cheap beer, an arcade with games that have "insert coin" burnt onto the screen and nachos that look right out of a google image search. This is not me dissing, this is me applauding AMERICANA! In all seriousness, they have cheap bowling, its never too crowded, and its perfect old school bowling. There are better lanes out there, but when you want to escape the Los Angeles crowd, and be transported to the Midwest, I recommend this little Burbank gem.

David W.

Yelp
Pickwick Ice Gardens. This company is horrible. Was told to pay $$ for my 6 yr old daughter to try out for Golden Bears hockey team, only to find out she was up against the players who were on the team from last year. I was told she would make the team and then she was singled out in a meeting with all of the players, and told she did not make it. The cost is $3300 for 5 months. One of the players single mom is a dental assistant. but he is on the team and his mother is on a relationship with the coach. The whole program is run by thugs. Pasadena, Valencia, others way better and cheaper. Avoid this place like the plague

Lilani E.

Yelp
Pickwick is not my "og" bowling alley by choice but as an adult is where I frequent most. Don't try coming here on Thursday evenings, it's League Night. I like to come during the week when it's not so crowded. I love their fries...and their drinks are very strong and very inexpensive. I would come here any day before Lucky Strike. I really don't need to bowl next to a Backstreet Boy.

Deanna C.

Yelp
Amazing place to have a party. The teams that help coordinate and make these events come to life, from Kristin coordinating our parties to the back of the house ensuring everything is set up to perfection. The food was delicious, the banquet room was warm and inviting. I highly suggest you book your party with Pickwick Gardens. We can't thank you all enough, My grandma's 80th party was beautiful.

Janie K.

Yelp
Venue smells. Not enough broadband width for multiple users to use computers all at once. Wait staff was excellent. Food was ok. Grounds are beautiful.

katy m.

Yelp
Shelly had her son's 8th bday party here - major drawbacks include- 1) the "party" room we only had for 1 hour...1 hour...8 yr olds...people arriving late...just picture it. As soon as anyone walked into the room, a grumpy employee shoved a paper plate with a piece o' pizza into their little hands. They did the same thing with the cake after about 15 mins of pizza time. Imagine crazy kids running around with greasy pizza or gooey cake on a precariously tilting paper plate in one hand and balloons/nerf darts/etc in the other. They were in such a hurry to kick us out, clean and set up for the next party...which, btw, didn't happen until 45 mins after it was set up. 2) as mentioned above, cranky employees...when a large woman snapped at me when I reached for some cake for a guest, I had just about had it with the 'tude. The kids liked the skating, but for the money spent, I would suggest a different venue.

J C.

Yelp
So, you're bowling with your kids (ages about 9 - 16) and you're entering your name on the board. Do you put your real name? NO WAY that's too boring! I got a good one, how about M.I.L.F.? That's what I saw when I looked at the lady bowling in the lane next to ours and casually looked up to see her score and name, M.I.L.F. And, no, she was not. I take my kid here every once and a while for the "loud, sometimes really lame music & light show" night, and yes, you do have to deal with quite a lot of teenagers at that time, but if you don't plan on staying all night, it's bearable. If you get there before 7pm, it's cheaper and not so crowded. They also have an Air Hockey table, where I like to show off my kick ass reflex skills.

Jessica K.

Yelp
I have come here quite a few times and i keep coming back for more..of their good prices and oiled up lanes that is. How can you beat 2 games for 2 people and 2 shoe rentals for $18? We got a drink out of the vending machine and it burst so they gave us a replacement which i thought was really hospitable of them. The bar area is pretty damn laid back, we sat in there last Sunday and had $2 beers while watching COPS..BUT the reason we were in the bar was because there was league bowling and no open lanes...Booooo! SO don't even try to go between 3-9pm. I want to go ice skating but if i get sore the next day just from bowling, i don't even want to know about all that yet...

Michelle C.

Yelp
I really REALLY thought this place was just about bowling and ice skating. I mean, my marathon training group and I would crash their bathrooms mid-run on Saturday mornings. Seeing old-timers My assumption continued because I parked on the wrong side (the bowling alley side) and thought we were going to be in some smoke stained second-rate banquet room circa 1950 with the din of falling bowling pins clattering in the background. Boy was I wrong! There are actual gardens at this place. And a whole slew of banquet rooms!!! Not cheesy bowling alley banquet rooms, but completely legit and nice banquet rooms! Maybe the bathroom was circa 1950, but in a "I need to get a shot of this for Flickr" unreal time capsule kind of way. Our company holiday party was here and being that I only started at the company two weeks ago, I had no idea what to expect. It was pretty swanky, although there should have been at least one more bartender or more people passing champagne for our 300+ person crowd. Overall, the set-up was very nicely done. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food and drinks were pretty good. I also got to see into another banquet room that was setup for a "winter" themed wedding and it was pretty spectacular looking in all it's white and silver glory. There was also an annex that was used for the audio-visual portion and it decked out like some high-end nightclub (I could see that because one wall was all glass). I would totally recommend it for a special event.

David T.

Yelp
This is 1 of 5 places in Burbank where you're likely to run into someone you know. Both the ice rink and bowling alley are popular hangouts, and I've been going to the ice rink for over a decade now! I am a hockey player and even though the ice is not as good as other rinks, I still enjoy skating there mainly because the rink is conveniently located in Burbank, and I have made many friends here who are regulars as well. I have met quite a few interesting characters here in recent years! The bad part is that Wednesday night Powerplay is overpriced, at $22. While you do get a lot of ice time, the problem is that it's late at night during the week, and you get quite a few puck-hogs during the game. However, if you're on the same line with your friends, then it can be the most enjoyable experience. I should also mention that at least at the ice rink, they are inconsistent about making sure people pay and sometimes resort to unusual measures. Once the manager walked into the dressing room while we were all getting undressed to check for our stickers! There has got to be a less perverted way to check our stickers, right? Public sessions for bowling and ice skating are fairly reasonably priced, and if anything they'll keep you entertained for a couple hours. Come by and check them out!

Ceci K.

Yelp
Pickwick would have to be my very first ice rink in Southern California. Honestly its not so great but it does the job. I'm just glad the kids here during the free skate isn't running into everyone and being rambunctious. This is the most civilized ice rink so far. I'm sure I can spend all day here without getting bored either. Bowling, Ice skating, and a garden. To top it off...a wifi hot spot.

Yelp
I attended a conference here for work. The staff was friendly and professional. When we stretched out an extension cord to plug in our laptops, they pulled out tape to make it safe rather than telling us to put it away. The room is simple and tasteful so that it can easily be decorated for a variety of events. The gardens in the courtyard are lovely on a classic rose garden sense of the word.

Yelp
Pretty standard as far as ice rinks go. It's a decent size, and the staff is relatively friendly and helpful in regards to skate rental. What I like most about Pickwick is their deal on the last 45 minutes of their public skate session. It's $3 for entry, and another $3 for skate rental (but since I bring my own skates, it's a flat $3 to get in). I haven't tried the food, so I can't speak for the culinary aspect of the venue, but I can say with confidence that the ice is pretty trashy. Now I don't ALWAYS wait till those final 45 minutes, so I know it's not the timing. Also, the lockers that they supply for a dollar's worth of quarters are often non-functional. Each time I've been here, I've had to relocate my things into at least one other locker because the key refuses to budge or the quarters don't fit in the slot, so be aware of that. I just think the whole building is in need of renovation. A good once-over to clean out the kinks, smooth out the ice, and make the place look - for lack of a better word - liveable. The prices are also way too steep for any of the hockey-related events - including stick time and pick-up. $22 for pick up hockey? That's more than double the maximum I've ever paid for open ice hockey, and I thought THAT was a ripoff. I don't know, I'm sure I'll continue to give the rink my money because it's closeby and convenient, but no more than $3 for a public session once in a blue moon. I'll take my hockey equipment elsewhere.

Yelp
I used to come here when I was in HS. I've tried out the skating rink and the bowling alley a couple of times. They were really fun and family friendly. I kind of want to come back just to relive some fond memories.

Yelp
I can't remember why, but for some reason I decided to take the boy ice skating for his birthday this year. Pickwick was the closest rink to his apartment, so we gave it a shot. The complex is kind of huge and having never been there before, we couldn't quite find where the rink was. We parked like a mile away and walked through the bowling alley (saw they had a few pinball machines, but didn't stop to play) before we finally found it. My review might be tainted by the fact that I've only been ice skating once in my life and that was about 12 years ago. We went to a public skating session on a week night, but it seemed like we were interrupting training. There was one coned-off group training at one end of the rink. There was a group of little girls in skating leotards practicing with their coach and portable stereo at one of the sides of the rink. Kids in hockey uniforms were flying past me. And then there were the teenagers who were icing each other and gouging the ice at every chance they got. Because of all of the action, the ice was really rough. It was like skating on pebbles. And for someone like me who is the epitome of novice, wobbly on my skates, and a little hypersensitive, it was enough to make me want to cry. But I didn't cry and I sort of got the hang of it. It definitely was not as fun as my past ice skating experience though. Don't forget to bring a sweater. It's effing cold in there.

Yelp

Yelp
I absolutely loved my wedding experience with Pickwick Gardens, especially with Kristen Sagona. She was super sweet, fun, and exciting, and spent lots of time with me to understand my vision. She has tons of experience so could offer excellent advice on every topic. Every vendor that she recommended did such an amazing job. I had my ceremony and reception outside in the gardens and it was so beautiful-truly my dream wedding. The food was also delicious. Kristen was there the entire day of the wedding to help coordinate everything-and everything was completely seamless. I would recommend this venue to any bride!

Yelp
The ice rink is shabby and rundown...but the only one around the 818. So growing up, I learned to ice skate here. They really need to run the zamboni more frequently because the ice here is always bumpy and dangerous, esp. for amateurs like me. Admission is $7 plus $3 skate rental and hours are sucky. Public sessions are only 1.5-2 hours long per day so call ahead or check their website http://www.pickwickgardens.com/sqs/dsk.aspx?tabindex=2&tabid=17

Yelp
Easter Sunday, a few days ago, my wife and enjoyed the buffet brunch at the Pickwick Gardens more than expected. I had heard it was going to fun with a wide variety of tasty food selections, and they lived up to the rumor. Did I mention that the champagne was included and that the servers were always close by, ready to pour another mimosa or just straight champagne. We have been telling all our friends that they need to plan on being there with us next year. Harvey Branman

Yelp
We just had a Wedding reception at the Pickwick garden. It was a great, successful and joyful wedding. Robbie, who is a Coordinator of the garden, was helpful. Only one bad thing we'd experienced was that the power was out for like 20 minuites during our reception. Other than that, we are happy with the services provided by the Robbie and her crew. Thanks.
